Lief would look at his egg and then begin running in place while franticly looking all over for an adult. The thing had been shaking and bouncing and the child was worried about what to do. It was then, suddenly, that a small paw finally broke through the shell, and suddenly, the undead knew what was happening and gasped. “IT HATCHING!” He’d chime and chirp before going close to the egg, watching as the creature inside finally broke out.
Lief let out another large gasp as he saw the Little Legend, his scarf falling on it and the boy letting out a chuckle before scooping it up into his arms and running off to figure out how one takes care of a Little Legend.
//I introduce you all to Lief’s new traveling companion Lun-lun, the Monarch Hushtail! This is part of Lief’s new cannon. For established verses, it’ll remain unchanged (unless discussed otherwise), but for new interactions, the baby boy has a baby friend.

Bandle City Fanlore pt. 2
Yordle Architecture
Yordles build their houses out of wood and stone, and make their households resemble cabins. They’re often spacious, usually only having one or two floors. Most houses have anywhere between three to six rooms, depending on the size of the family
While the exterior of the households are usually similar, the interior of a yordle household is wildly different for every yordle. Each yordle decorates their house to show off their personality and express themselves, especially the adventurous type that bring back various trinkets from the material realm.
The Wistful Weald
Far past the main villages of Bandle lies a mystical weald that’s in constant mist. The mist is often calming to most, and gives yordles a somber, or melancholy feeling. Yordles often come here to help clear their minds, or to get away from a day of stress.
Yordles have named this place the Wistful Weald due to the feeling the mist gives them. The Wistful Weald gets visitors often, and is the first place yordles found mistberries, and the existence of mistberry hushtails. Some yordles come here just to pick mistberries, and to gather their seeds.
Many yordles speculate as to why the weald has constant mist in it. Some say the mist is there to protect an ancient treasure of sorts, while others just say it’s the magic of the spirit realm giving it a constant mist. It’s possible the answer will never be figured out, as those who did make it into the depths of the weald never returned to tell the tale.
Hushtails
Hushtails inhabit not only Bandle and the spirit realm, but Ionia as well. Inhabiting the glens, Wistful Weald and the Glade of the spirit realm, as well as the lands of Ionia, hushtails are elegant, fluffy fox-like creatures. Young hushtails have a single tail, but as they get bigger they sprout another tail, and once fully grown dawn a third tail. There are several different known species of hushtails - the most common one being the moontipped hushtail.
Hushtails are omnivores and natural hunters, and their diet consists of various crops, fish or small insects they catch. They have swift, stealthy movements, and a camouflage they use to catch prey without being seen.
These creatures grow fairly large - large enough to be a helpful animal to yordles. Using them how most nations use horses, hushtails and yordles have worked with each other for centuries. While certainly more on the wild side of things, moontipped hushtails have been successfully domesticated, though problems arise with other species of hushtail, due to their more feral nature.
Each species of hushtail has something different about them, making each one unique. Moontippeds are the least feral, and are easy to domesticate and train. These creatures don’t make good pets, as they get rather large for yordle households. These are typically the yordle version of horses, and are used to pull wagons filled with crops and baked goods, either to go to a market to sell or to be brought to festivals. Hushtails are usually kept by farmers willing to go through the harsh work to domesticate and train one.
A young moontipped hushtail
Moontipped hushtails can be found in both Bandle City and Ionia, and each region has exclusive species of hushtails in them. Bandle City has the fae and mistberry species, with the fae ones commonly being in the Glade. Ionia has the monarch and untamed species of hushtails, with the monarch ones living in their greenglade alongside all the other creatures.
The fae species lives alongside the faeries of the Glade peacefully, and helps to keep the Glade hidden from intruders. Using their fae magic, they can confuse intruders and cause their heads to spin, as well as erase their memories of the pathway to the Glade. This keeps the Glade from being harmed by outsiders that may destroy the peace.
An adult fae hushtail
Another species exclusive to Bandle, is the mistberry hushtail. This species loves to live around the Wistful Weald, keeping watch over the mistberries it loves to snack on. Whether it’s the magic of the weald , or the magic of the creature itself - these hushtails sparkle when they’re inside of the weald. Mistberry hushtails are more on the pacifist side of all the species. They don’t like being bothered, and will avoid conflict when possible.

Ionia has their own species of hushtails living in their greenglade and forests. One such species is the monarch hushtail - an inhabitant of the greenglade. No one knows for sure how they got to the greenglade, but some guess they traveled to Ionia alongside a yordle.
Monarch hushtails help keep the flowers of the greenglade growing strong. They also feast on pests that may destroy the environment. Monarch hushtails are loved in the greenglade for these reasons.
While most species of hushtail have failed at domestication, one species no one has ever tried to domesticate is the untamed hushtail. Living in the forests and islands of Ionia, this species of hushtail is incredibly feral and would kill creatures much larger than it just to keep its dominance over its land. Untamed hushtails aren’t something Ionians try to mess with, and they usually leave them be.
This is a fanlore project by me and @oracle-is-here
