Joys of parenting No3245: the strop on the shop floor because there are no more kinder eggs: Kids have this fabulous ability to not give a f*ck about being embarrassed by any situation. So, when they realise other kids have swiped all the kinder eggs, they don't think twice about running around the shop screaming "people got my eggs!! I kill people!" Or "mommy, you're mean. Bad mommy" or (my personal favourite) "go away mommy. I'm not your friend. Hate you!!" After which they take up this position - making a stance on the shop floor that they absolutely WILL NOT move until some poor soul is forced to go out back and retrieve any remaining kinder eggs lost between the bread & sugar. All the while, me, mom - is left as red faced as santas suit, some people are laughing at me, my kid is DEFINITELY laughing at me, and some people are eye rolling me so hard, I can hear their eye balls hitting the back of their head from the loo roll aisle. And you know? It never gets any less embarrassing the more it happens - there's no getting used to this. Just sometimes?
