Finding Frances Collins
After I was able to focus on the proper surname of the wife of Noah Price, I tried to track down her parents. The 1850 Census showed Mary Collins 17, living with Francis Collins (49), James C. Collins (25), & Elizabeth Collins (22). It's an easy assumption that Francis is her mother, with a simple misspelling.
Tracking down from there, I found her in the 1840 Census also as the head of family. As you can see, the 1840 and previous censuses leave a lot to be desired.
In the 1860 Census, the kids have moved out, but instead she moved in with Elizabeth, now going by Olive and married to John Stroop, misspelled here as Strop.
She continues to live with Elizabeth's family in 1870.
The last census record I can track her to is the 1880 Census, where she's living with the now widowed Elizabeth, and Frances listed by the nickname Fannie.
I found Elizabeth's death certificate, which includes her father's name and Frances's maiden name, Gibson.
Taking a step back, I found the online record of marriage between Levi Collins and Frances Gibson. I then tracked down Levi and family in the 1830 Census.
So now I need to track down Gibson's in the 1820 Census. So far, unsuccessfully.
Now I know, Frances Collins was born around 1801 in Pennsylvania. Checking Pennsylvania counties bordering the West Virginia panhandle (Ohio County, VA prior to 1863), I found the Rev. William Gibson in Canonsburg, Washington Co., PA. He was a Presbyterian minister, born in Co. Down, Ireland, with a full biography available online. Sadly, he is not Frances's father. Quick research into the Reverand finds four daughters, none named Frances.
Once again, bedeviled by the absence of the 1890 Census. Frances died sometime after 1880, before 1900. So far there's no Find A Grave entry, but my search will go on.

Działa to również w drugą stronę – jeśli znamy objętość w metrach sześciennych, możemy obliczyć, ile desek o określonych wymiarach będzie potrzebnych.
- Pracujemy w stolarni – gdzie codziennie przeliczamy ilości desek potrzebnych do realizacji różnych projektów.
- Oblicz ilość desek z danej objętości: - Jeśli masz określoną ilość drewna w metrach sześciennych i chcesz wiedzieć, ile desek można z niej wyciąć, wystarczy podzielić objętość drewna przez objętość jednej deski.
Zalety korzystania z kalkulatora desek
Dzięki temu narzędziu możemy dokładnie określić, ile desek będzie potrzebnych do wykonania deskowania tych kluczowych elementów konstrukcji.
Kalkulator Desek
Oblicz metry sześcienne z wymiarów deski: Długość deski (cm): Szerokość deski (cm): Grubość deski (cm): Ilość desek: Oblicz metry sześcienne Oblicz ilość desek z metrów sześciennych: Metry sześcienne: Oblicz ilość desek Oblicz metry sześcienne potrzebne do pokrycia powierzchni: Powierzchnia (m²): Grubość warstwy drewna (cm): Oblicz metry sześcienne
Podsumowanie
Prompt 23 - Inspire
@jegulus-microfic October 23, Word count 539
The bowl of fruit was doing nothing for him. They’d been working on it all week. He’d painted them, drawn them in pencil, crayon, charcoal, literally anything he could get his hands on, and he wasn’t satisfied. His next medium was clay, but he could already feel it was not going to help.
“Gahhh!” He exclaimed as he mashed the perfectly sculpted banana into a squashed mess. He let his head drop into his hands. How could a simple bowl of fruit cause him so much irritation? The truth was it didn’t inspire anything within him, which was why he couldn’t get what he wanted out of his art.
“Is everything alright in here?” A voice asked from the doorway. Regulus peered around his easel and spotted the most beautiful man he’d ever seen. “Oooo, bananas!” The man said excitedly, striding across the floor and picking one from the bunch. Regulus watched as he carefully peeled the fruit and lifted it to his mouth to take a bite.
“You know that’s for an art project, right?” Regulus asked quietly. Shocked that the words had even left his mouth. The man froze, the banana hovering close to his open mouth. The man’s eyes darted around the room until he spotted where Regulus was sitting.
“Crap sorry,” He started to lower his hand.
“No, wait!” Regulus jumped up. “Don’t move!” He grabbed his sketchbook and began drawing. His pencil flew across the page as he tried to capture the likeness of this absurd man.
“I’m James, by the way,” James introduced himself.
“Regulus,” Regulus answered, his eyes constantly flicking from his page back to James, and the image began to shape. James didn’t move the entire time Regulus sketched. He waited patiently for Regulus’s instruction. Regulus was lost in his work, oblivious to how much time had passed.
“Hey, Reg,” James asked, his voice slightly strained. “Can I lower my arm yet, it’s starting to cramp,” Regulus jolted out of his quiet focus, he’d half forgotten that James was even still standing there.
“Oh… Yes… Of course. He stammered.
“Excellent,” James grinned as he took a bite of the banana. Regulus dropped his pencil. He shook his head and bent to grab it. “Wow! Did you really just draw that?!” James was leaning over, staring at the picture Regulus had just drawn.
“It’s not finished,” Regulus told him, holding it protectively against his chest. James didn’t bat an eye at Regulus’s possessiveness.
“Well then, you’ll just have to go on a date with me once it’s done so you can show me the finished product.” James winked at him and headed towards the door, pausing to grab an apple from the bowl. “See you later, love,” James called as he walked down the hallway.
“Wait!” Regulus yelped, racing after James. “I don’t even know who you are. How will I find you?”
“James Potter. Don’t worry, love, I’m not hard to find,” And with that James turned the corner and was gone.
Still stunned, Regulus went back into the art room, picked up his discarded sketchbook and got back to work.
A week later, he dialled the number he’d tracked down for James Potter. It rang twice.
“Hi, James, it’s Regulus,”

I love when (fan)fiction does this thing when a non-magic character first hooks up with a magic character and they kinda expect all this weird kinky magic stuff to happen and they're equal amounts nervous and excited.
And then it just doesn't. Oh sure, there is magic in bed, actual magic, but its the most mundane and unsexy quality of life type of magic ever.
Examples, MCU edition:
Doctor Stephen Strange, world renowned surgeon turned world renowned sorcerer: uses just enough magic to steady his shaking hands so he can feel more confident about touching back.
Wong, the Sorcerer Supreme, highest ranking person in the entire magic society: summons any kind of required supplies with the same casual countenance as if it was a sleight of hand card production trick instead of actual magic.
Wanda Maximoff, fearsome Scarlett Witch, master of the most volitile Chaos Magic: uses telekinesis to pick up the pillow that fell to the floor during the initial shuffle to make herself more comfortable.
Loki Laufeyson, God of Mischief, shapeshifter, alive long enough to have tried everything the Nine Realms have to offer (and some things they don't): only uses his magic to clean up after. Because he's Royalty and cleaning is Beneath Him.
They all know the weird kinky magic stuff is something that has to be properly negotiated first. So non-magic character better be ready for next time---

I told my mam yesterday that I have a job interview on Monday, and today she’s acting like she had no idea which is fine cos I don’t actually expect her to listen to me, but when I said I already told you this she said “alright stroppy!” so I said I’m not being stroppy but I already told you I had one and she got really angry and was like well you’ll have to take the bus you can’t have a lift everywhere, let me tell you ONCE in a blue moon do I ask if they’ll take me somewhere cos mind you she can’t actually drive, but I hate asking because then it gets chucked back in my face. So I said no mam, I wasn’t stroppy, but the way you’re talking to me now and assuming I was in a bad mood because I said “I told you yesterday” has in fact put me in a bad mood. And she was like you could’ve fooled me, which doesn’t make any sense 😭 so am I stroppy or not? I hate asking her for a favour because she acts like a martyr every time but I WASNT even asking for a favour! And even more, in the last two months she’s had more than £500 off of me that she promised to give back but just hasn’t, so surely she should like that I’m going to a job interview so she can have more money off of me
#Not to mention that her boyfriend borrowed almost 2grand from me before that#I never complain to her because she doesn’t care so it really really annoys me that she would assume I was complaining in the first place#When I wasn’t#I was just pointing out that I already told her about my job interview#And also#I’m allowed to be in a strop if I discover that she hasn’t been listening to me AGAIN considering she makes me listen to the same work dram#all the time !!

i still cant like. look at the stuff i made while in art school as anything other than (for the most part) miserablepointless and frankly uninspired garbage, which is a bummer bc most of it didn't sell during the BFA show either so i still have a lot of my senior show stuff haunting my residence. A lot of the projects i LIKED working on kinda suck in hindsight on a technical or overall execution level and all the ones I didnt that got completed tbh suck but in a different way (negative association bc of pressure ig?) but if one thing's certain
its that i shouldve been drawing man eating bugmen with their dicks out way sooner in pursuing my degree
#rent lowering shots that i should NOT have withheld#i wish i could do some screenprints eithout feeling messy/burdensome. linocut eould require me to restock on blades and get myself like#a strop and whetstone. i havr all my screenprinting supplies and even fabric inks#i just cant justify printing with how much of a mess it makes indoors tbh#i rlly rlly wanted to do a screenprint of ahab limbus bc i was so so moved by that canto and i hatelove that wretched hag and wanted to do>#her some sort of beautiful justice. but. i. do not think i coukd do that rn#its frustrating bc i feel like i havent rlly recovered from that burnout. why did i go to srt school knowing i hate being told what to do#not art
