Ever After High OCs let’s gooo!!1!
Info dump is undercut because holy shit it got long
Madra Chulainn, the Daughter of Cú Chulainn.
Okay so first things first, me making her is dooming EAH!Ulster to go to war every generation so. Keep that in mind
Her time as an EAH student is a mix of during and after her training with the next Scathach, her first two years would be during it and her last two would be after.
That does mean during her final years she could possibly be married to the next Emer.
Let me try to explain her family because it gets weird. She’s not technically the daughter of Cú Chulainn. The last Cú Chulainn, let’s call him Gadhar, would’ve died young and way before she’d be born. Her mother is Gadhar’s Emer figure, but her technical father is Lugh, following the story of Lugh magically putting a baby in Cú Chulainn’s mother’s womb without actually having sex with her. So her mother was the previous generation’s Emer, her technical father is the god Lugh, and Gadhar Chulainn is her already-dead stepdad and technical half-brother through Lugh. However, in the story Cú Chulainn is not only Lugh’s son but also an incarnation of Lugh, meaning Cú is an aspect of Lugh himself. So Madra is both Lugh’s technical daughter and an aspect of Lugh himself, and Gadhar is her already-dead stepdad, technical half-brother, and also a past incarnation of herself. Also, she has like way too many foster parents.
This does make her a demigod of sorts.
The fact that she’s a girl does make people be extremely doubtful if she’s capable of being the next Cú Chulainn, but no one can really deny she’s supposed to be Cú Chulainn because of the whole, y’know, Lugh thing.
Much like Cú Chulainn himself, Madra got the name Madra Chulainn after acting as a guard dog for the Culann house. Her name before that was Síthmaíth.
Madra is freakishly strong. To give an example, in the story Cú once broke about seventeen chariots because they could not withstand his strength.
Madra does go into a ríastrad/battle frenzy like Cú did. This has banned her from the Bookball team.
Madra cannot refuse food given to her by a girl. If she does she’ll become physically weaker.
She weirdly acts like a dog at times despite not actually even being part dog.
She has a loud personality and she’s very active. She also gets very violent when shocked or just caught off guard. She’s definitely broken someone’s nose when they surprised her. She’s also prone to fits of anger and gets irritated very easily.
She plays Camogie and wants to introduce it to Ever After High.
Her pet is an Irish Wolfhound named Dorcha.
Madra would like to Rebel against destiny but she doesn’t think she can. She’s been fated to everlasting fame but dying young ever since she was a child, and once she graduates Ulster will go to war with Connacht because of the next Medb, and Madra will have to fight because otherwise Ulster doesn’t stand a chance. She doesn’t think she can stop the war from happening so she doesn’t think she has a choice other than living out her story. Not only that, she worries that if she doesn’t go through with her story she’d be going directly against the will of her gods, especially Lugh, and she knows that eventually The Morrígan will seek her out, so to her it’s better if she just goes through with her destiny instead of trying to fight against it.
She’s roommates with Momoko. The two do them get along relatively fine, but they’re not particularly close.
Momoko Hana, the Daughter of Momotaro
Momoko attends Ever After High as part of an exchange program. She used to go to a school in East Asia.
In between the years Momoko attended Ever After High, she would complete her destiny during the summer, as Momotaro is typically depicted as a teenager when he sets out on his expedition.
People were shocked that she was a girl, but like Madra her destiny can’t be denied because of her unique birth, coming out of a giant peach.
Momoko struggles to understand people. She wants to make people happy but she’s really bad at conflict resolution, especially since her main method is just giving people Kibi dangos.
Momoko is one of the few girls to be taking Heroics classes. Other girls in the class would be Madra and Jillian.
Momoko is extremely skilled with weaponry, especially sharp ones such as knives and swords. She’d be able to cut down a tree in just a few swings.
Momoko, surprisingly, does not dislike the Oni.
Momoko has spoken with her gods before.
Momoko believes it is impossible to go against destiny and that even the act of going against the set stories is the work of destiny itself.
A lot of people, both Royals and Rebels, are annoyed by Momoko because she kind of refuses to look at destiny at a deeper level. She’s very dismissive of the conflict and sees herself as above it, thinking of it as a silly Ever After thing that’ll blow over at some point. She gets proven wrong about this pretty quickly though.
Momoko doesn’t see the word of the Grimm family as absolute law, since she is not from a place where they have influence over the native fairy tales.
Momoko’s only respect for Milton Grimm comes from the fact that he’s an authority figure. If they were on equal standing she would absolutely destroy him.
Momoko has three animal companions. A monkey, a pheasant, and a dog named Nashi, Yuzu, and Ume respectively. They’re not pets, being capable of speech and human level intelligence, and they live with Momoko in her dorm room. They do not get along with each other.
Along with being skilled in martial arts and weaponry, she also like the theatre and acting.
When Momoko first came to Ever After High, one of the biggest culture shocks she experienced was the fact that she was important. Obviously in Japan the story of Momotaro is extremely popular and influential, so Momoko was a highly respected figure in her homeland. In Ever After though? Very little people knew of the Momotaro story. She thinks it’s unfair, since Ever After’s stories are also very popular in Japan but not the vice versa. It wouldn’t bother her so much if it weren’t for the fact that some students are very dismissive of her influence and importance in her homeland, since she’s not a famous figure in Ever After.
She’s roommates with Madra. Their dorm is as clean as a dorm housing four animals and Madra can be.
Lucia Wick, the Niece of Lucignolo
Starting with the obvious. The reason she’s to niece of Lucignolo instead of daughter is because the Lucignolo from the generation before went missing after turning into a donkey, so it was his sister that had to continue the story.
Lucia is a childhood friend of Cedar. According to the story the two of them should be best friends so they were often paired together whenever they were younger. Despite this the two of them never really clicked with each other.
Since Lucia was expected to be a troublemaker, the adults in her life didn’t define the boundaries of what’s right or wrong as much as they did with other children.
A good portion of her time at Ever After High consists of taking detention.
I’ve recently been imagining her with a New Yorker accent.
Sometimes, Lucia’s ears will turn into donkey ears. This mostly happens when she sneezes but it can be triggered by other things.
Lucia is afraid of her destiny because of the uncertainty around it. Her uncle went missing after being turned into a donkey and this is a pattern with the Lucignolo destiny. Most of them went missing and of those who were found, most of them would end up dying as donkeys. Of all the Lucignolos from way back to the 1880s, Lucia only knows of one that was saved and transformed back. It’s because of this uncertainty and not-very-good chances that Lucia aligns herself with the Rebel cause.
Her fear of her destiny began around the time she was a preteen-tween, when she was starting to actually comprehend it, and because of this she started to distance herself from Cedar, hoping to delay her ending for as much as possible. During her first year of Ever After High she actively avoided Cedar. However, she also feels partially guilty that perhaps she’s also delayed Cedar’s story. Almost every Pinocchio became a human when they were young so Lucia worries that her trying to escape her story might have messed up with Cedar’s.
She’s really into embroidery and textile arts.
She also likes using incenses.
She’s very clever and quick-witted.
Lucia likes causing mischief around the school, especially towards the professors but also just to anyone who annoys her.
She has a pet salamander called Matchstick
It’s very hard to convince her to do something that she wouldn’t derive personal enjoyment from. Because of this she often never does her school work or assignments.
Lucia doesn’t think she has many friends, despite hanging out with a lot of people, because she has pretty high standards.
She’s roommates with Hannah. She thinks Hannah is very bothersome, especially with her music. She’d considers Hannah her best friend.
Hannah Hedgehog, the Daughter of Hans My Hedgehog
She’s the same age as the others, she’s just short.
Don’t draw attention to the fact that’s she’s short, even in a joking manner. It really pisses her off.
Hannah doesn’t shift between her humanoid form and an animal farm, like Bunny or Duchess. She’s stuck in her hybrid form.
Hannah does curl into herself when scared, angry, or just upset.
As hedgehogs are nocturnal, Hannah has a more erratic sleep schedule than others.
Hedgehogs hibernate for six months starting in October/November. During that time Hannah sleeps most of the day and only gets up for classes.
Hannah is firmly a Rebel and has a genuine disliking towards the Royals.
Hannah spends most of her time in the woods.
She plays the bagpipes.
Hannah chooses to rebel, despite having a typical happy ending, is because she disagrees with the ending itself. In the end of the story, Hans would be rid of his hedgehog half and live on as a human man, finally being accepted. Hannah doesn’t want to give up a part of herself simply so others would see her as an equal. She’d rather have people treat her respectfully the way she is.
Hans My Hedgehog’s parents treated him awful and unfortunately, that is the same for Hannah. Her parents are ashamed of her being half hedgehog, despite her father himself having been half hedgehog in the past. They make her sleep by the stove and neglect her.
During the time she attends Ever After High, she isn’t living with her parents. In the Hans My Hedgehog story, Hans left to live alone in the woods when he was eight, so when Hannah was young her parents forced her out so she would follow her story.
She has a pet rooster called Rusty.
Hannah hates being treated differently in any way for being half hedgehog. Obviously she doesn’t like being treated unkindly like her parents and a lot of others have, but she also doesn’t like how a lot of people in Ever After High treat her, where it’s in the opposite direction and they’re infantilising her.
Because she tries so hard to be seen as equal to others, she hates asking for help since she sees it as a weakness on her part.
She’s roommates with Lucia. She thinks Lucia is irritating, especially when she’s using incense. She’d consider Lucia her closest companion.

Yua Uedo OC Prompt
Courtesy of @muffinrecord ! Thanks for all the content you put in the tag :)
1. What Magia Record character would/could your OC be good friends with?
I feel like Yua would get along pretty well with Momoko! They both have big sister kind of vibes imo! Maybe Tsuruno, I feel like they both have a lot of positive energy that would reflect off of each other if you get what I mean!
2. What Magia Record character would your OC HATE?
Yua *HATES* super self-important people. Going off that, probably Alina. Which is a bit awkward since Alina *is* her boss lol
3. How would your OC feel about the Kamihama Magical Union?
She thinks they’re great! She’s a little worried about how many former members of the Magius are in it, but she doesn’t say that out loud, seeing that she was one herself. She thinks having all the magical girls band together for a common cause can only be beneficial, especially if they’re not up to any acts of villainy.
4. Would your OC have joined the Wings of Magius, given the chance? Why or why not?
She definitely would; she feels solely responsible for her friend Gin becoming a witch, as she was the one who introduced her to Kyubey, and she feels as though it’s her moral imperative to make sure that it won’t happen to her other friends. She doesn’t agree with the Magius at all, but she doesn’t see anyone else with a plan to save magical girls from their fate. Additionally, she feels like she wasted her wish. She originally wished to be able to be with her friend/crush Mari forever, but after seeing Gin die, she couldn’t bring herself to face her.
5. What would the name of your OC’s witch be? If they were outside Kamihama, what would be a sad story of how they could turn into a witch?
Her witch is named Ryouko! She’s named after a character from Hana Monogatari (Flower Stories), an anthology of 51 short stories about lesbians in Japan. Had Yua not heard the rumors about how magical girls can be saved in Kamihama, the combined despair of seeing her friend become a witch, and knowing that if her other friends became witches in the future, would be too much for her to handle. She would try and go as far away from anyone as possible, so she wouldn’t burden any of her loved ones with the truth that she had become a witch as well.
6. How does your OC feel about Mirrors? Do they avoid it, go there to practice, or want to solve it’s mysteries-- or do they have a different motivation?
She avoids if at all possible. Even if she’s just fighting copies, they feel too real for her to want to stay for long. Fighting witches for real is practice enough.
7. How does your OC feel about Kyubey? Do they know the truth about where witches come from?
She knows about witches; she saw one of her friends become one. She’s very upset that Kyubey had to deceive her, but can’t bring herself to hate him, as he doesn’t seem to have the capacity to understand human morality.
8. Your OC just unleashed their Doppel! What sort of inner battle takes place? How do they overcome their inner darkness?
Yua is in a crowded place, usually a concert hall, surrounded by people she knows. She reaches out, but everyone moves away from her. Rather, space stretches out so that she moves away from them. She tries to call out, but chokes on her own words. Her own voice tells her that she is burdening everyone else, so she should make herself useful for once and take on all their burdens. The Doppel manifests itself as a heavy crown that covers her eyes. Any injuries sustained by her nearby allies are redirected to her. She ultimately manages to control the Doppel by accepting that there are some things she cannot do on her own.
9. Kaede is inside a witch’s barrier and needs saving! How does your OC help? ...Or does she not help?
Yua hates fighting, and would want to destroy the witch as fast as possible. However, her usual method of, “Hit it with a huge fireball” isn’t quite the safest when there’s bystanders nearby. In that case, she’d either try her best to get Kaede to safety and then go all out on the witch, or engage it in close combat with her rapier in order to not cause any collateral damage.
10. It’s Chapter Ten, and the fight against Walpurgisnacht beings. What is your OC doing?
Yua realizes how much she fucked up by joining the Magius after seeing the sheer power of the witch. She does her best at making amends with all her friends, and then gives it her all when fighting Walpurgis. She has just enough stamina to stay standing until the end, when the combined efforts of Kamihama’s magical girls beat the witch. She and Mari start from the beginning and promise to never fight again.

Magia Record OC Prompt: Kasumi Shizuru
I have decided to make these prompts for Kasumi since she’s one of the nicer members of my OC team dfghjkghjk
1. What Magia Record character would/could your OC be good friends with?
Probably Mayu, Emiri, and Sana; Kasumi’s the type of person who makes friends wherever she goes, so she’d like most of the Kamihama girls if her city’s Magical Girls weren’t so hostile towards them.
2. What Magia Record character would your OC HATE?
ALINA. Kasumi would loathe Alina for farming Witches and using them in her artwork; her magic lets her talk to them and read Witch runes, so she’s much more sympathetic to them than usual. Someone like Alina who frequently upsets and uses Witches in her work would be extremely offensive to Kasumi. She’d also be disgusted with Hanna for similar reasons.
3. How would your OC feel about the Kamihama Magical Union?
Like the other girls in her town, she likes their ideas, but doesn’t want to work with them for having former Wings members in their group. She’s nicer than most towards them, but one look at someone like Touka would drive her away anyways.
4. Would your OC have joined the Wings of Magius, given the chance? Why or why not?
She would...if they didn’t use witches and actually cared about nonmagical people. Kasumi does have a selfish side, but it’s kept in check by her friends who are already distrustful at best towards the Wings, so she wouldn’t join even though their liberation promise appeals to her.
5. What would the name of your OC’s witch be? If they were outside Kamihama, what would be a sad story of how they could turn into a witch?
Her witch name would be Eris, and she’d be very similar to Gretchen and Elsa Maria in terms of powers. She’d probably become her after either being confronted with a person she can’t understand at all, or being afraid she doesn’t know who she is or what she wants.
6. How does your OC feel about Mirrors? Do they avoid it, go there to practice, or want to solve it’s mysteries– or do they have a different motivation?
She’d think it’s the coolest shit ever and try to find and talk with the Witch; would love her clones and probably try to befriend one so she can learn more about how the barrier works.
7. How does your OC feel about Kyubey? Do they know the truth about where witches come from?
Kasumi dislikes Kyubey to the point where she straight up suspects their mission to stop entropy isn’t as clear cut as they say it is. A lot of it has to do with her finding out the truth right on her first hunt, and then wondering what else Kyubey hides from Magical Girls. She’s kind of come to the conclusion Kyubeys may be a little outdated based off of recent scientific discoveries, so she thinks them, and their mission, are heavily misguided and untrustworthy.
...Also she just compared a grief seed to her own soul gem and did the math after listening to the Witch so
8. Your OC just unleashed their Doppel! What sort of inner battle takes place? How do they overcome their inner darkness?
Not much of one honestly; her witch is one of the calmer ones, and it shares her goal of understanding everyone. The fight would more come from Kasumi convincing her doppel that she can’t actually be this way towards everyone, which would cause them to panic and lash out before accepting the truth.
9. Kaede is inside a witch’s barrier and needs saving! How does your OC help? …Or does she not help?
She’ll help, and then try and take the grief seed if her gem’s duller than Kaede’s based around her town’s rules (and out of force of habit). This would probably cause some issues with Rena and Momoko
10. It’s Chapter Ten, and the fight against Walpurgisnacht beings. What is your OC doing?
YEETing herself back to her city to report to her team, basically just:
Her entire city is this meme and Kasumi is no exception, in fact, her and her friend (Hana) are the types of people who’d sooner make cringe compilations of the Magius’ antics before they’d help with anything involving Kamihama

Oc Creation: Names
the writing took longer than I expected but I’m done with the first part all thanks goes to ayalaatreides for proofreading and editing.
When naming, its very self explanatory, they have to have at least a number in their name. Since numbers are the central themes, it's no surprise that's what all the characters are named after. There's a heavy use of Japanese mythology and folklore in the series. They have a pattern, it’s fun and easy once you get the hang of it. Let’s begin with the inmate side of naming: the inmates go by aliases instead of their real names, for instance in flashbacks no one referred the characters by their current names. In a post I explained cell 13’s Jyugo,Uno Nico and Rock’s names; as I said before, naming can be fairly easy once you get the hang of it.
Inmates
The inmates’ names are from their id number, but it could also be something deeper. With Jyugo, “Jyugo” is the Japanese number for “15”, his cell number. Uno is Spanish for “one” from the card game, citing his gambling habits and part of his id number “11”. Rock, when pronounced in Japanese, is “Rokku”, “ro” meaning “6”, “kuu” meaning “nine”, together mean “69”. Rock could mean as “strong as a rock”, like his inhuman strength would suggest. In Nico’s name, “ni” means “2” in the Japanese language, and “ko” is the phonetic symbol for “go” meaning “5”. Nico’s name means “second child”, his status being the youngest and most childlike out of all of his cell mates as well as his second personality that comes out later in the series. His name has different meanings attached, which are “smile” and “sunlight”, like his bright and energetic personality.
You have to remember. you can count numbers many ways in Japanese, for example Tsukumo’s name means “99” in Japanese. In naming, take apart what's in the name, Rock’s “rokku”, “ro” being “six”, “ku” being “nine”. When it comes to a character’s kanji look at Kusatsu and Fujisan’s names. Kusatsu’s name in kanji is taken from Kusatsu, a town known for its hot springs. “Ku” means “9”, “Sa” means “3”, “Tsu” could mean “2”. Don’t believe me? Look at the kanji. As for Fujisan, it's a play on the term “Fujisan”, another notable hot spring, “fu” comes from “futa” meaning “2”, and “ji” like Nico, “ji” is the phonetic symbol for “shi” meaning “4” and “sa” = “san” meaning “3”, fitting since they both love hot springs so much.
Now time for the inmates from the other buildings. I’ll start with building 3, inmates Trois and Honey., “Trois” is french for “3”, his nationality being french. For Honey, the Japanese pronunciation is “hani”, “ha” from “hachi” meaning “eight”, “ni” being “two” like his cell number. Another american, like Rock whose name is in Japanese pronunciation.
In naming, look at their nationality when naming your inmates. If that's the case, then why is Musashi given a Japanese name instead of a German name? Easy: it's to represent the building he resides in. Building 4’s theme is culture, since it has Japanese culture it’s made to reflect the theme of the building. Musashi's name is broken up into “mu” from “muttsu” meaning “6”, “sa” being “san” meaning “3”, “shi” being “4”, like his inmate id number 634. His name comes from Miyamoto Musashi, the author of the Five Rings, a renowned Japanese swordsmen.
Last but not least: building 5 inmates Upa, Liang and Qi. Their names are reflected in their nationality being Chinese. Liang’s name is Mandarin Chinese for “2”, his cell number. For Qi it’s “seven” like part of his cell number “7” in 71. As for Upa, “pa” is read as “eight” in Chinese. Like Nico, Musashi, and Uno, he has other meanings in his name as well., Upa’s name came from isha upa yoga (a form of yoga) referring to how he first appeared meditating, and also a buddhist monk, Upagupta. Qi’s name came from “Qi”, or “the central underlying principle in Chinese traditional medicine and in Chinese martial arts. The practice of cultivating and balancing qi is called qigong.” This links Liang, Upa and Qi together due to them having martial arts, qigong and medicine in their characters.
Now I’m done with the inmate side of naming; time to move on with the guards. They take another step but it’s lot of fun.
Guards
Let’s start off with the guards of building 13, Hajime Sugoroku. Hajime means “begin”, which is used in traditional martial arts such as karate, judo, aikido and kendo, matching Hajimes speciality in combat where he uses his fists for fighting. The kanji in his name means “one”, him being the number one man in Nanba prison. Sugoroku is a traditional Japanese new year’s board game. For his family, his brother Hitoshi’s name means “benevolence”, showing contrast to Hajime’s short tempered and violent temperament. Hitoshi can be spelled as “hitotsu” in different kanji meaning “one”, showing a connection to Hajime being his family.
Next is Seitarou Tanabata. His surname comes from the tanabata legend, and Tanabata’s a star festival held in japan. “Sei” means “star”, “tarou” is used for boys in japan and could also mean “eldest son”., Iif you look closely, his name could have a number if you look at “tarou”. Yamato’s name is from a Japanese battleship, and Yamato is an ancient alternative spelling of japan. The kanji of his name Godai means “five great”, named after the japanese elements from Japanese philosophy.
The guards of Nanbaka are named from characters in Japanese folklore and legend, like Momoko Hyakushiki, Samon Goku, Kenshirou Yozakura, Kiji Mitsuba, Mitsuru Hitokoe. Momoko, Samon, Kenshirou and Kiji are an allusion to the legend of Momotaro. Momoko being Momotarou, Samon the monkey, Kenshirou the dog, Kiji the pheasant. For their names, “momo” in her name is another way of saying “a hundred” in Japanese, and “ko” is used for girls in Japan. “Hyaku” means “a thousand”, “shiki” means “command”. As her name suggests she's a commanding presence in Nanba prison and warden of Nanba prison.
Samon is named after a character from the Chinese novel, Journey of the West, the Monkey. “Go” means “5” citing building 5 the building he is supervising.
In Kenshirou, “ken” means “dog”, which is his motif in his design, “shi” means “scholarly officer” referring to his intelligent and informed personality, “rou” is a last name usually given to boys in Japan. Yozakura means “four cherry blossoms”. Taken from “yozakura”, an event that takes place after hanami, cherry blossom viewing at night, and “yo” in his surname means “4” referring the building he is supervising.
Kenshirou’s guard dogs of building 4 are named after flowers with numbers., In Japan people use flower language to convey emotions to each other. Since building 4’s theme is culture, it talks about japanese culture which uses hanakotoba (the language of flowers) which is proxy used in japanese culture. The guards are dogs that are different breeds, and they have flowers in their names I = one Ni = two Shi = four “no” is a naming particle using “of” when writing Japanese. Their last name “hana” means “flower” in Japanese. For tThe head guard dog Genrou Byakuya, Genrou’s full name means “mysterious wolf” and “Byakuya” means a “hundred nights”.
Next is Kiji Mitsuba. “Kiji” is Japanese for “pheasant”, “mitsu” is Japanese for “three”, “ba” meaning “leaf”, his surname together means “three leaves”, a japanese parsley which is a vegetable in Asian cultures. “mitsu” means “3”, which refers to his building that he supervises.
The guards of building 5 are named after characters from the Journey of the West novel. Inori’s name means “wild boar”, “nori” meaning “hicklish”, his surname means “eight commandments”, taken from zhu bajie a character from Journey of the West who shares the same personality traits as Inori. Part of Houzuki’s name means “law or buddhist”, referencing his outfit, “zuki” means “moon” and “Hou” is another way of saying “Hōshi” , “gen sanzou”. “Sanzou” is taken from “genjou sanzou”, a Chinese buddhist and the monk from Journey of the West, the wandering priest. For the Daisen brothers’ names, “dai” means “great”, “sen” means “sage”. The brothers are named after some of the characters from the Journey of the West. “Roku” means “6”, “koko” means “9”, “you” means “8”, “riki” at the end means “power”. Rokuriki is named after the immortal of elk power, Youriki after the immortal of antelope power, and Kokoriki the immortal of tiger power, as seen again with their weapons. Ruka’s name means “flow of the river”. “Go” means “5” and “jo” means “pure clean unspoiled”. Ruka’s surname is taken from Sha Wujing, a river ogre from Journey of the West that accompanied Sanzou on his journey. Hachiman is an inmate whose name means “eight thousand”, he's named after a synthetic divinity of archery, and his power hungry nature references this. Also named after Zhu Bajie, the pig, encompassing his violent traits.
For the supervisors of other buildings: for the supervisor from building 1 Tomato Ichijou, “to” means “rabbit”, and in his kanji “ma” means “ten thousand”; “ichi” means “one” and “jou” means “streak”. “Ichi” in his name references the building he supervises. Nijimasu Nanairo means “seven colors”, his whole name together means “7 colored rainbow”. “Nana” meaning “7”, the building he’s supervising. For Mao, a deputy supervisor, his name “mao” literally means “cat” in Chinese; his surname “ni” means “2”, “ji” means “dance”, “ma” means “under”, and “2” in his surname references the building he is working in. Mao is based on the nekomata, a cat demon with 2 tails for being from building 2. Also a reference to it his love for money, a reference to another legend, the legend of maneki neko which is seen holding a coin.
To the staff: for Mitsuru Hitokoe, “mitsu” means “3”, “tsuru” means “crane”, “hito” means “one”, “koe” means “voice”. Mitsuru is taken from the folklore “Tsusru no Ongaeshi, the crane returns the favor”. The doctor’s name “okina” means “old man”, “o” means “drive or manage”, “to” means “ten”, “gi” means “justice, righteous”. His name’s taken from “Taketori no Okina”, the adoptive father of Kaguya Hime from The Tale of Princess Kaguya.
Kazari means “to decorate”, and Kagu 8 is an allusion to Princess Kaguya who was adopted by okina, and had many suitors wooed by her beauty. “Kagu” means “god, diety”, and “8” is another way of saying “ya”, the number 8 in Japanese.
So when naming your characters, look at the pattern from their names and how they are arranged closely: they have numbers like the title suggests.
Inmates Jyugo = 15 Uno = 11 Rock = 6,9 Nico = 2,5 Tsukumo = 99 Fujisan = 2,4,3 Kusatsu = 9,3,2 Trois = 3 Honey = 8,2 Liang = 2 Qi = 7 Upa = ba = 8 Musashi = 6,3,4
Guards For guards, they have numbers and are based on folklore
Hajime Ssugoroku = 1,2,6 Yamato Godai = 5 = Japanese battleship Yamato Seitarou Tanabata = 1 = Tanabata legend Okina Otogi = 10 = the Legend of Princess Kaguya Kazari Otogi = 10 = the Legend of Princess Kaguya Kagu 8 = 8 = the Legend of Princess Kaguya
Momoko Hyakushiki = 100,100 = Llgend of Momotaoru Samon Goku = 3,5,9 = Legend of Momotaoru = Journey of the West Kenshirou Yozakura = 4 = Legend of Momotaoru Kiji Mitsuba = 3 = Legend of Momotaoru Mitsuru Hitokoe = 3,1 = The Crane Returns the Favor
Mao Nimaijita = 2 = Nekomata,Maneki-neko
Tomato Ichijou = 10,000,1 Nijimasu Nanairo = 7
Inori Hakkai = 8 = Journey of the West Houzuki Sanzou = 3 = Journey of the West Ruka Gojo = 5 = Journey of the West Kokoriki Daisen = 9 = Journey of the West Youriki Daisen = 8 = Journey of the West Rokuriki Daisen = 6 = Journey of the West Hachimen = 8,10,000 = Journey of the West

Just some Overwatch Ocs that I'm making for my AU! I hope you guys like them. ^^ Momoko is the youngest Shimada and current heir, seeing as Hanzo was exiled and Genji is presumably dead to them. She despises her brothers and wishes them both to be dead. She's very cold and quite harsh. Works with Talon. Momoko surprisingly gets along with Widowmaker and Reaper. She has synthetic skin on some parts of her body where her skin was badly burned after she was caught in a house fire that burned the building down. Support. Mahalia is the Empress of the Bautista Empire, a small clan located in the Philippines. She's close friends with Momoko. She's very quiet, only speaking when she thinks someone deserves to hear her voice. She is seductive and mysterious. She also smokes often. Works with Talon. Likes to work with Moira, Reaper, and Doomfist. Defense. Aurelie is a hardcore gamer and a longtime rival to Hana Song! She lives for thrilling events and often participates in drag racing from time to time. When she's not playing video games or working hard, she'll be visiting Hana in Korea and spending her time with her family. She has lots of pent up rage inside of her. Works with Overwatch. Defense. Adaora is a strong minded model and engineering assistant, often helping Efi or just keeping a watchful eye out for her. She adores both Efi and Orisa, spending most of her time with them. Add Lucio into the mix and it'll turn into a cute little dance party. She loves showing off her strength by picking her friends up and placing them on her shoulders! Works with Overwatch. Tank.

daily fact #22 —☆
you can expect both momoko and len to be somewhat absent for a certain period of time at some point in the story.
