Foster ford, Molly bonding with/meeting Angie
@nelson-and-murdock also requested something with Molly in the Foster Ford AU, so I'm going to count this as fulfilling that request as well. Hope you guys enjoy it!
———————————————————————————————————–
Molly was almost done with her book by the time her stepmom came home from work.  Her head went up when the front door opened and a short, blonde woman stepped inside.
“Hello, my darlin’ fellers,” she chirped cheerfully to Molly’s dad and cousin in the kitchen.  “How was yer day?  Anything excitin’ happen?”  Molly frowned.
The only people I’ve heard with an accent like that are on TV or in movies.  Where’s she from?
“Uh, yeah,” Stan said.  He was working on dinner, and Stanford, who apparently preferred to go by Ford, was helping by handing him ingredients when asked.
“Oh?  What happened what was excitin’?” Molly’s stepmom asked.  Stan nodded at Molly sitting in the living room.  Molly’s stepmom turned to look.  She had a long, thin nose, a slender frame, and was wearing khaki shorts and a dark brown T-shirt.  She stared at Molly for a second before slapping her forehead.
“Yeah,” Stan said idly.  He looked at Ford.  “Gimme the carrots.”  Ford obediently handed him the carrots Stan had chopped earlier.  Stan dumped the carrots into the pot he was tending to on the stove.
“Oh, no,” Molly’s stepmom sighed heavily.  “I forgot to tell ya she was comin’, didn’t I?”
“Yep,” Stan said.  Ford nodded in confirmation.
“Oh, Lord, I’m so sorry.  It’s just- work and my thesis and-”
“It’s okay.  We got it figured out.”
“Still!  Ugh, I’m normally so much more organized than this!” Molly’s stepmom said, frustrated.  Stan snorted.  “What?”
“Ang, you might be more tidy with your stuff around the house normally, but you’ve always been pretty disorganized in the head.  So stop moping and introduce yourself before Molly graduates high school.”
“Ford, give Stan a lil smack fer me please,” Molly’s stepmom said.  Ford grinned.  He punched Stan’s leg.
              “Hey!” Stan protested.
“I’m just doing what she told me to do,” Ford said.  “What do you need next?”
“Garlic,” Stan said.  Ford handed him the garlic powder.  Molly’s stepmom walked over to Molly and sat next to her on the couch.  She smiled.
“Molly, right?” she asked.  Molly nodded.  “It’s a right pleasure to meet ya, darlin’.  I apologize fer bein’ so absent-minded that I forgot to tell yer father you’d be showin’ up.”  Molly shrugged.  “The name’s Angie.  If that’s what ya want to call me, that’s fine by me.”  Molly searched Angie’s face for any hints of deception.  But Angie’s expression didn’t seem fake; genuine warmth sparkled in her blue eyes.
“Okay.”  Molly cocked her head curiously.  “Where are you from?”  Angie chuckled.
“My accent sticks out ‘round here, don’t it?  I grew up on a farm in Arkansas, but the closest town was a tiny lil place called Gumption.  Did ya grow up in New Jersey like yer father?”
“Yeah.”  Dr. Whiskers walked along the back of the couch and jumped onto Angie’s lap.
“Did Dr. Whiskers give ya the red carpet treatment?” Angie asked, stroking the cat.  Dr. Whiskers purred happily.  Molly shrugged.  “Well, I’ll let ya get back to readin’.  Got to shower and change out of my gross clothes.”  Angie gently set Dr. Whiskers on the ground and stood up.  She frowned.  “Speakin’ of clothes, do ya have much of ‘em with ya?”
              “Not really.”
“I’m busy all week, so’s unless yer fine with Stan takin’ ya shoppin’ fer clothes, you’ll have to borrow from Ford until the weekend,” Angie said.  Molly shrugged again.  “Do ya have a preference?”
              “No.”
“Then we’ll wait ‘til the weekend.  I don’t trust Stan to get a young lady proper clothes,” Angie said.  Molly’s heart sunk.
What does she mean by “proper clothes”?  Angie smiled again at Molly.
“I’m happy to have ya with us, darlin’,” she said kindly.  Molly watched her walk away, stomach in knots.
Please don’t let her be just like Mom.
-----
Angie parked the car.  Molly looked out the window.  Her eyes widened.
“Wait, you work at the zoo?” she asked.
“Have I not mentioned that yet?” Angie asked.  Molly shook her head.  “Huh.  Maybe I am as absent-minded as Stan says.”  Angie shrugged.  “Well, no fixin’ that now.  Let’s go inside.”  Molly got out of the car and followed her stepmom to the entrance of the San Diego Zoo.  She had been faced with the inevitability of yet another day reading while Stan and Ford played together when Angie suggested she come to work with her.  Since anything would be better than watching her dad and cousin play with LEGOs, Molly jumped at the opportunity.
At first, Molly thought Stan’s standoffishness was just him feeling awkward around her.  After all, she was the daughter he didn’t know he had with the girlfriend that cheated on him and broke up with him.  But she knew now the true reason Stan wasn’t spending much time with her alone.  It was because of Ford.
Ford was constantly by Stan’s side.  It was like he was glued to him.  Molly couldn’t get any one-on-one time with her dad.  Not with Ford standing right there, commanding Stan’s attention.  At this point, Molly was convinced Ford was getting in the way on purpose.  It couldn’t be a coincidence.  No one her age should be spending so much time hiding behind their father figure’s legs.
And I swear he gives me little smirks about it, too.  Molly initially thought Ford’s expressions were social awkwardness.  After how he manipulated Stan into avoiding time with Molly, though, she felt certain those weird smiles were Ford being proud of himself for getting all the attention from Molly’s dad.
“Howdy, Tim,” Angie said to the security guard.  She put a hand on Molly’s shoulder.  “This here’s my stepdaughter, Molly.  Can I get a guest pass fer her?  She’s spendin’ the day with me.”  Tim looked at Molly with a raised eyebrow.
“She definitely looks like Stan.  I didn’t realize he had a kid.”
“Funny story.  He didn’t realize that, either.  Not until recently.”  Angie’s smile became a bit forced.  “But that’s all I’ll say ‘bout it.  It ain’t my story to share.”
“Fair enough.”  Tim gave Molly a guest pass on a lanyard.  Molly slipped the lanyard over her head.  “Enjoy the zoo, Molly.”
“So, what do you do here?” Molly asked Angie as they walked into the zoo proper.  “Are you a zookeeper?”
              “Yep!” Angie said cheerfully.
“What kinda animals do you take care of?”
“The scaly and slimy ones.”  They began to head for the reptile house.  Molly’s eyes widened.  “The critters what most folks think are disgustin’ or scary, I find the most charmin’.”  Angie smiled at Molly.  “Yer not authorized to help me, so you’ll just have to watch fer the most part.  But if ya want, I’ll let ya feed Horace some mealworms.”
              “Who’s Horace?”
              “One of the bearded dragons.”
“You’ll really let me feed a bearded dragon?!” Molly said eagerly.  Angie chuckled.
              “Sure.  Why not?”
“Can I hold a snake or something?”
“Hmm.  We’ll see.”  Angie leaned over.  “But if ya behave yourself, I’d say the odds are in yer favor,” she whispered conspiratorially.  Molly grinned.
Oh, yeah.  This is way better than staying at home all day.

ive seen SEVERAL 'bill and mabel friendship' au's over the years and i love them all, so i figured it was about time i show the world mine!! ^^ im calling it Mabel's Muse. details under the cut!!
(DISCLAIMER: THIS IS NOT A MABEL X BILL AU. GROSS. PROSHIPPERS DONT TOUCH THIS)
in this au, bill and mabel form a bond in the very early era of the show. like, early to mid season one. much like ford did, mabel lets him into her mind, and they form a close bond. she has no idea he has any ulterior motives. the rest of the shack, and honestly the town in general, chock this up to a weird "phase" of hers, referring to bill as "mabels imaginary friend". but mabel calls him her muse <3
theres a little more to it than this but its honestly still a work in progress, so take this for now and let me know if anyone would be interested in seeing more of this!!!
(edit: if you're interested, you can now check out more of this au (with additional art and lore) over here!) (EDIT EDIT: made some more!! here and here <3)

I can’t wait to see how crazy this will get! (Especially because I made sure to include some non-human options). I feel like I can guess the outcome knowing this site, but maybe I will be pleasantly surprised. Have fun and remember to pick wisely. Don’t do it to be ironic!

A lot of Disney shows have Portals huh?
Something fun I wanted to draw based on all the shows I have enjoyed that somehow shared this common element!

Looking back the ending of Gravity Falls while thinking about endings of other series like Amphibia and The Ghost and Molly Mcgee, Weirdmageddon has a message that is underwhelming when it comes to Dipper and Mabel's relationship and Mabel's potrayal in the show.
This isn't about Mabel getting tricked by Bill. She is a 12-13 years old that in that context she was feeling really bad and not thinking well what she was doing. That isn't relevant to the topic at hand and honestly it isn't a problem she did that, it does makes sense in the episode it happened.
Tumblr media
What i have an issue is how the narrative makes Dipper feel bad about considering staying studying with Stanford. This is something that Dipper was interested in and he was very fascinated by anything that was paranormal related. Stanford himself told Dipper he had a lot of potential and the kid was digging into it.
Mabel lashing out and not liking the idea of Dipper staying with Stanford is understandable in the episode Dipper and Mabel vs. the Future. She doesn't seem to have much friends back in her home and her parents are implied to not be the best. She gets scared of Dipper leaving, that's a reasonable fear for a kid to have.
Tumblr media
However, as i mentioned before, Dipper is made feel bad about considering choosing something he wants to do. It isn't Mabel who has to learn that things change and sometimes this brings things we don't like. She doesn't exactly consider what Dipper wants for himself, she mainly cares about how ¨she is going to be alone¨ and making her brother feel selfish for choosing his own path or do something that could make him happy.
Yes, she learns that things can't stay the same forever and they are growing up, that itself is a pretty good development for her and overall a good message to teach.
Yet her being codependent on Dipper doesn't get brought up nor addressed, in fact the series seems to praise this behavior of hers. In how Dipper has to do what she wants if not he is a bad brother. Mabel's clinginess and controlling behaviour to an extent isn't called out, which that itself is a problem.
Small edit: I want to add an extra point here that Mabel does have a short scene near the end of the episode that she tells Dipper that she won't get in his way if he wants to stay with Stanford and she was ¨acting nuts¨ in the dream bubble. This is good for her but it does still feel in part that her issues weren't fully acknowledged and it doesn't help she didn't say this until after Dipper told her that he was going to stay with her and not be with Stanford, which is rather questionable in my opinion. It would have been more appropiate in the episode to have this brought up and getting adressed better than for her to wait for Dipper to do what she wanted.
In contrast in Amphibia, Marcy Wu has a similar arc about change. The series explores how she can take her escapism too far and how she can be very selfish in plenty of ways, something that is potrayed as an aspect she has to learn from and realize that it isn't healthy.
Tumblr media
Her being too codependent on Anne and Sasha and their overall friendship is potrayed as toxic and the series explores this relationship a lot, having the girls grow over time and think about different aspects they have to work on.
In ¨True Colors¨ it is revealed that Marcy Wu learned about the Calamity Box the same day she got told by her parents that they were moving away. Very afraid of having to leave her friends behind and having to be alone in a new city, she found the Calamity Box and told Sasha and Anne about it. Worth of mentioning she didn't know if it would work but it was a desperate act of her just to not having to move away from her friends yet.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When Sasha and Anne find out about this they are, not surprisingly, very pissed and push from Marcy away for a moment, making Marcy realize her mistake and eventually apologizes for what she did.
Tumblr media
In ¨All In¨ Marcy finally comes to terms with how she can't force Anne and Sasha to be the way she wants them to be and that her codependency on them isn't a good thing. She realizes that has to move away to her new home at some point, that things change but that doesn't mean the three of them have to stop being friends.
As you can see, there is a clear difference between how Mabel Pines and Marcy Wu’s characters and flaws are potrayed in the narrative. While Gravity Falls makes Mabel’s codependency and controlling behaviour to be something acceptable and that Dipper should conform to, Amphibia does the complete opposite and presents Marcy Wu’s actions as flaws she has and that can hurt other people, including her friends. She is the one that has to make a change and understand she has to work on herself if she wants to have new friends and keep these relationships as times moves on.
Since we are on topic, one thing that really bothered me is how Mabel created a version of Dipper that is ¨cool¨ and says yes and goes along with everything she wants to do. (Weirdmageddon Part 2)
Tumblr media
This has… interesting implications of how Mabel believes that relationships should work, or at least with her brother twin Dipper. A lot has to do with how she and Dipper have very different personalities and she maybe wishes that he was more like her, but expecting someone else to say ¨yes¨ to everything you want is a toxic mentality to have. And the episode itself doesn’t address this enough, it doesn’t bring up to Mabel she can’t expect people to work like this and she should try thinking more about what others wants.
Lets talk about The Ghost and Molly Mcgee. In this series Molly Mcgee often has episodes where she has to learn certain lessons. One of them she learns over time is that often she has to give up control and let what others want to do instead.
Tumblr media
A good example of this is ¨Ready, Set, Snow!¨ in which she is constanly trying to make Libby and Scratch to go and play outside in the snow with her without considering they would rather stay inside and sit near the fire for the moment. She spends most of the episode trying to find ways to make them go outside until she gets angry and goes out on her own. She has… quite of a mental breakdown in a sequence song. Scratch goes to check on her but he tells to her that she can’t do always what she wants and what it is important is for her to be spending time with her friends. Molly realizes she was wrong, goes back to the house and she apologizes for how she acted.
Molly has quite a lot of episodes like this, and all this becomes important in the series finale ¨The End¨ when she sees that Scratch has to go back to be Todd even if that means forgetting the memories he got as a ghost, her included. She tells Scratch that she is going to miss him a lot but she knows that forcing Scratch to stay wouldn’t be right. She encourages Scratch to go and ¨live his life¨ because she cares about Scratch being happy.
Tumblr media
Similar to Marcy Wu, Molly learns that she can’t force people to do what she wants and she has to let them choose for themselves. She knows that encouraging Scratch to do what he always wanted to do as human is the right thing to do, even if it means saying goodbye to him.
I do understand the idea that Gravity Falls was doing at with something among the lines of ¨Dipper and Mabel not repeating the same mistakes that their uncles did¨ but that doesn’t mean Dipper has to give up his dreams at expense of what Mabel wants. As Dipper said in VS The Future episode: he can still visit and they can still talk to each other. They don’t have to fall apart the same way Standford and Stan did. Just like in Amphibia, if Marcy still was able to remain friends with Anne and Sasha over the years, the same can be applied to Dipper and Mabel as siblings.
If not, it could be rewritten in a way that makes Dipper reconsider that he would like to wait a few years before joining Stanford in his adventures. That he is still a kid and wants to spend a while longer figuring himself out and be with Mabel before making a decision. That way it feels more like a decision he wants to do for himself and goes along with his character arc that he doesn’t have to rush to grow up.
As for Mabel, she has a lot of growing up to do. She has to learn overtime that Dipper is his own person and he can take is own path. That if she wants to have friends or have in general healthy relationships with others, she can’t make it always about herself and people have their own needs as well. She would have to work on her codependency and clinginess she has on others, specially her own brother. This would help her with being a more mature capable individual when she grows up.
This post on itself isn’t me hating on Mabel’s character since she has moments she can be good and i feel a lot of her behaviour comes from not being taught properly and being a teenager. The problem is that the series doesn’t address this behaviour enough and, as result, it comes off as the series giving an unintentional underwhelming message of potraying Mabel’s issues as something that should be acceptable and not her having a dynamic with Dipper that comes off as toxic. It is important to understand to learn to support others and not always make things about ourselves. That sometimes relationships change and we can’t force people to be in a specific way.

Look I'm as shocked as you that I'm posting ANOTHER Foster Ford AU ficlet, but what can I say? I had a lot of time to write today and I was inspired to write more Foster Ford stuff, so I did that. Here's the introduction of the daughter Stan didn't realize he had, @agent-jaselin's OC, Molly. Happy Sunday.
——————————————————————————————
Molly followed the CPS officer up to the house her dad lived in.  It was going to be an adjustment, for sure.  She’d lived her entire life in an apartment, for one thing.  The house had light gray siding, a well-manicured lawn, and a thriving flower garden in front.  Molly slowed to look at the flowers more closely.
Whose are those?  My stepmom’s?  Molly was apprehensive about meeting her dad’s wife, but if she gardened, maybe she would be willing to let Molly join her.  Or at least tell me what the different plants are.  The CPS officer, a tall, middle-aged, red-haired man, rang the doorbell.  After a few moments, the door opened to reveal a young boy.  The boy was wearing blue shorts, a T-shirt with a UFO on it, and glasses even Molly could tell was thick.  Judging by his twelve fingers and large ruddy nose, features Molly also had, he was the cousin Molly had been told about.
They didn’t say how old he was.  But he’s gotta be close to my age.  The boy blinked owlishly at the two people on the doorstep.  The CPS officer smiled at him.
“Hello, Stanford.  Is your uncle home?” he asked.  Before the boy, Stanford, could answer, a man appeared in the doorway.  He scowled at Stanford.
“Ford, how many times do I have to tell you?  You can’t answer the door on your own!” he scolded.  His New Jersey accent immediately reminded Molly of her mom.  Stanford hid behind the man’s legs.  The man looked at the CPS officer.  He paled.  “Uh.  Something wrong?”
“Why would there be something wrong, Stan?” the CPS officer asked.  The man, Stan, laughed awkwardly and ran his hand through his thick, curly brown hair.
Just like mine.  Molly cast a side-eyed glance at Stanford.  And just like his, too.
“Just my instinct when I see any sorta cop, y’know?” he said, trying to sound lighthearted.  But Molly could hear the anxiety in his voice he was trying to hide.  “Ford’s really happy here and Angie and I love having him.  We don’t want to lose him.”
“Oh, I’m not here to take Stanford away from you!” the CPS officer said.  Stan’s shoulders drooped in relief.  “I’m here to drop off Molly.”
              “…Molly?”
              “Yes.  Your daughter.”
              “I don’t have a daughter.”
              “You do.  With Carla McCorkle.”
“I…huh?”  Stan seemed blindsided.  The CPS officer gently nudged Molly so that she was in front of him, rather than behind him.  Stan stared at her, taking in her features.  When he got to her six-fingered hands, his mouth dropped open.  “I- I’ve got a kid with Carla?” he said weakly.
“This shouldn’t be a surprise,” the CPS officer said.  He looked down at his notepad.  “We called a few days ago and spoke to Angie on the phone.”
“Oh, shoot.”  Stan sighed.  “Angie’s been crazy busy with work and school lately.  She must’ve written it down and forgotten to tell me about the note or whatever.”  He paused.  “So, uh, does Carla suddenly wanna share custody or something?”
“We were actually hoping you would take full custody of Molly.”
“Full custody?  Why?”  Stan’s eyes widened.  “Carla isn’t- she’s not dead, is she?”
“No, she isn’t,” the CPS officer said.  “But she has decided to give up her parental rights to Molly for, um, personal reasons.”  Molly scowled.
That’s a fancy way to say she got sick of me.  Stan seemed to pick up on the euphemism as well.  A sour look settled on his face.
“Mind sharing what those personal reasons were?” he asked.
“She felt she couldn’t tend to Molly’s needs anymore.”
“I see.”  Stan chewed on his lip, thinking.  “I mean, I’m not gonna leave my kid on the streets.  Even if I just found out about her.  Come on in.  We’ll iron out the details.”  He stood to the side, allowing the CPS officer and Molly to come in.  Molly looked at her surroundings carefully, trying to piece together what she could from the décor.  Like the yard outside, everything was tidy.
Probably ‘cause of my stepmom, since Mom said my dad’s a messy person.  She followed the adults into a kitchen.  The kitchen table had piles of paperwork on it, but it seemed to be an organized mess.  A few photographs, a mixture of people and animals, hung on the walls.  They said my stepmom is getting a doctorate in biology.  Maybe she took the pictures.  All Molly knew about her stepmom was what CPS had told her.  She knew a bit more about her dad, thanks to her mom telling her stories, but even that was probably outdated.  For one thing, CPS said her dad was a gym teacher, and her mom thought he didn’t even graduate high school.
“We can talk in here,” Stan said.  He looked down at Stanford, still clinging to his legs.  “Why don’t you go play for a bit?” he suggested.  He carefully pried Stanford off and nudged him towards the adjacent living room.  Stanford reluctantly did as he was told, wandering out of the kitchen.  Stan, Molly, and the CPS officer sat at the kitchen table, Stan across from Molly and the CPS officer.
“If you are hesitant to take Molly, due to having your hands full with Stanford, we understand.  We can place her with someone else,” the CPS officer said.
“Like who?” Stan asked.  “My mom?  Shermie?”
“Your mother and brother aren’t licensed foster parents yet, so while Molly might eventually end up with them, she’d start off with an unrelated foster family.  Given her intelligence, she’d likely be placed with Stanford’s first foster family.”
“What?”  Stan shook his head.  “No!  Sure, Wyatt and Madeline are great, but she’s got family who can take care of her.  She’ll stay with us unless she decides she wants to stay with someone else.”  Molly felt her shoulders slump in relief.  Part of her had worried she would be pawned off over and over again.  Stan looked at her with a weak smile.  “You’re a smarty-pants, huh?”
“Very much so,” the CPS officer said.  “We recommend enrolling her in the same school as Stanford.”
“Sure.  What grade will she be in?”
              “First grade.”
“Like Ford.”  Stan looked at Molly again.  “How old are you?”
              “Six.”
“Like Ford again.  When’s your birthday?”
“November twelfth.  I turn seven this year.”
              “Ford’s birthday is April twenty-second.”
“So he’s younger than me,” Molly said.  Stan nodded.  “He’s my cousin, right?”
“Yeah.”  Stan crossed his arms and glanced away.  “He’s my twin brother’s kid.”  He frowned.  “And he’s about your size, so until we get a chance to run to the store, you two might have to share some clothes.”  Molly shrugged.  She couldn’t care less about sharing clothes.  All she cared about was staying out of dresses and skirts.
And they probably don’t have any of those for Stanford.
“Do you have a room Molly will be able to stay in?” the CPS officer asked.
“We’ve got a coupla extra rooms.  Angie and I will talk about which one we give to Molly, but until then, she can stay in the guest room,” Stan said.
“I get my own room?” Molly asked.  Stan raised an eyebrow.
“Uh, yeah.  I’m not gonna make you stay with Ford.  Kids need their space.”
“We have a few more things to discuss for Molly’s residence with you,” the CPS officer said, “as well as some paperwork you’ll need to sign.”  He began to place manila folders on the table.  “And it would be a good idea to go over how this situation will be different than fostering Stanford.”
“I don’t see why it would be different,” Stan said with a shrug.  “They’re the same age and I’m taking care of them.”
“Legally, this will be different,” the CPS officer clarified.  “I understand you plan to pursue formally adopting Stanford, but you are still technically his foster parent.  However, you are Molly’s legal parent.”
“If we’re gonna talk legal things, then I might wanna call my lawyer.”
“Feel free to,” the CPS officer said.  “Actually, it’s probably a good idea.”  He looked at Molly.  “Did you bring your book with you when we came in?” he asked.  Molly nodded.  “Maybe you could join Stanford in the living room while your father and I get the finer details figured out.”
“If you don’t wanna read, Ford’s got some LEGOs that he’ll share if you ask,” Stan suggested.  Molly shook her head.
“I’ll read my book,” she said.  She slid off her chair and went into the living room.  The coffee table in front of the light brown sofa was, much like the kitchen table, covered in paperwork.  Molly skimmed the words on the papers, but it seemed to be incredibly technical scientific terminology.  She couldn’t understand much of it.  There was a meow from behind her, startling her.  She turned.  A multi-colored cat sat on the sofa, watching her, tail twitching idly.
“That’s Dr. Whiskers,” Stanford said.  Molly turned her head.  Her cousin was sitting in the corner, building something with LEGOs.  He smiled, but it was clearly forced.  “He’s a nice cat, don’t worry.  He might try to eat your food, but Aunt Angie and Uncle Stan are working on that.  And he makes up for it by snuggling really well at night.”
“…Good to know, I guess,” Molly mumbled.  She climbed onto the couch next to Dr. Whiskers.  Dr. Whiskers promptly began to rub against her, purring loudly.
“Ford, check if Molly wants a drink or a snack,” Stan called from the kitchen.  Stanford looked at Molly.
“Did you hear him?” he asked.
              “Duh.”
“Do- do you want a snack or drink?” Stanford asked timidly.  Molly shrugged.
              “I guess.”
              “Do you have any allergies?”
“No.”  Molly frowned at him.  “Do you?”
“No, but Aunt Angie does, so she likes to check with guests,” Stanford said.  Molly bristled.
“I’m not a guest,” she said firmly, crossing her arms.  “I’ve got as much of a right to be here as you.”  Stanford opened his mouth to say something, then closed it.  He rubbed the back of his neck.
“You’re right,” he mumbled.  He got up.  “I’ll get some juice or something.”  Molly watched him go into the kitchen.  As he walked past the table, Stan ruffled Stanford’s hair, making him smile.  Molly frowned.  She could feel herself getting jealous of the affection her father was showing towards her cousin.  But that wasn’t a surprise.  When she found out her father was fostering a different kid already, she suspected she’d have to compete for attention from him.
I didn’t think my competition would be so much like me, though.  And so weird!  Stanford came back.  He placed an apple juice box on the coffee table, smiled awkwardly, and returned to his LEGOs.  Molly opened her book but couldn’t focus.  She kept glancing at Stanford sitting in the corner, building some sort of structure.  There’s something off about him.  I don’t know what it is, but I’m gonna figure it out.

also unironically i think now/in the near future would be the best time for the bells hells to meet one friendly neighborhood firbolg grave cleric of the wildmother to have it out with their collective grief, not just of FCG, but for everything they've had to go through in such a short time

Bill ultimately didn't learn anything from this experience.
When I made this response regarding Bill in the RE7 and 8/Village AU, there was curiosity in regards to how Bill got on Scratch's bad side, and @jackie-gremlin-ghost was wondering if I would draw it out. Coincidentally I was considering it long ago, but now I have my excuse.
(In case it helps, Bill is meant to be the Eveline equivalent, Scratch is the Donna equivalent, and Stan is the Joe Baker eqivalent.)
