Hey, sorry, I've followed you for a long time and have slowly but surely come to adore that purple Molly person you reblog a lot. What are they from? I want to get into it now lmao they've sunk into my brain
oh sure! I'm always happy to talk about my favorite tiefling :) Mollymauk Tealeaf is a DND character played by Taliesin Jaffe in the second campaign of Critical Role. You can watch the first episode on youtube, "Curious Beginnings: Critical Role The Mighty Nein Episode 1."
Tumblr media
You can also read Molly's backstory in the comic Mighty Nein Origins: Mollymauk Tealeaf. It's heartwarming and a bit melancholy and very pretty. (There's also a novel for Tealeaf, but,, it's very spoilery--)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A couple of seasons of CR's first campaign have also been animated, and they've announced there's gonna be an animated series coming out for the second campaign later this year :')

For my contribution for pride month I’d like to share my personal head canons for Harry Potter characters!!!
Harry Potter: I’m gonna be honest I project on this man far too unhealthily to NOT be biased (I’ve been going by the name Harry in IRLfor 3 and a half years now I think? Bc of this man /srs) but that man’s bi with a capital B 💕💜💙 personally I enjoy seeing trans man Harry as well but unfortunately I don’t see as many fanfics of him as such :,) shoutout to all the fanfic creators I see making Harry a trans woman tho!!! I’d also love to see a genderfluid/nonbinary Harry or two!!!
Hermione Granger: trans woman!!! 🏳️‍⚧️ *crowd cheers* as for sexuality wise? I’ve seen her depicted as straight, bisexual and lesbian- and honestly I think I can see her fitting all of these!!!
Ronald Weasley: I always struggle to pinpoint what I headcanon Ron to be. I have seen a couple of people headcannoning him as a trans man 🏳️‍⚧️- referencing Molly continuing to have children until she had a girl creates perfect levels of angst for this- but I wouldn’t say it’s a permanent aspect of him inside my head. Now that I think about him a little more- I think I might headcanon him as unlabeled more than anything sexuality wise. I think he’s into women but he wouldn’t be opposed or too surprised if he developed a crush on a guy.
Luna Lovegood: She’s a lesbian 🏳️‍🌈💕 (I will occasionally accept fanfics where she is pan and is with Neville but her being a lesbian is the main headcanon) also a little gender queer in whichever way you choose 🏳️‍⚧️ sometimes I see her as genderfluid, bigender and just generally nonbinary
Ginny Weasley: bi- so so bi 💕💜💙
Draco Malfoy: Gayest motherfucker in town I’m sorry- Mr. Tells his father literally everything about Harry 💚🤍💙
Remus Lupin: bi 💕💜💙 there’s no question about that in my mind, I think he has a small preference for men but that’s it!!!
Sirius Black: He switches between using the labels queer and gay but you know that man kisses other men!!! 💚🤍💙 I know a lot of people tend to headcanon him as genderfluid which I enjoy seeing but it’s never been a main stay headcanon for me :,)
Tonks: (She/they) Lesbian and Intersex 🏳️‍🌈💕💛🟣. I’m sorry but the age gap between Remus and her in the original books make me uncomfortable- as for being intersex, I think most ppl believe being a metamorphmagus means she is automatically genderfluid, while I like seeing genderfluid representation, I think ppl often fail to acknowledge the difference between sex and gender. As a metamorphmagus, she transforms her body, her gender doesn’t seem to change w it in the books. While I like the headcanons of them being genderfluid I wish more people explored that specific idea.
Severus Snape: queer? Queer. In every sense of the word. I think most people view him as bi 💕🟣💙 which I agree with (Lily and Mulciber, also absolutely headcanon him having a crush on both Lucius AND Narcissa) but also I think he’s a little bit gender funky- I mean just look at him- no one who stands like that isn’t just cis /ref. Sev absolutely painted his nails and did eyeliner, he absolutely wore a floor length black skirt and absolutely had days where mister hit wrong in all the right places and everyone in her group helped by doing tiny things like braiding her hair and putting bat clips in it for fun 🏳️‍⚧️
Anyways speed run round 🏃
💕🟣💙: Cedric Diggory, Cho Chang (has the fandom chosen a new name for her yet?) Bill Weasley
🧡💛🤍🩵💙: Charlie Weasley, Neville? (Didn’t think of this until just now but it’s growing on me?-)
🏳️‍🌈💚🤍💙: Dean thomas, Seamus Finnegan, Dumbledore (I may not like him that much but he is gay)
🏳️‍🌈💕: Minerva Mcgonagall, Poppy Pomfrey
If I missed anyone I’m sorry :,)
Anyways!!! Join if you’d like with your own headcanons!!!
@pottistic @marriso1 (If you guys don’t wanna join w ur own headcanons that’s okay! I thought this would just be fun :P)

in response to @al-longbottom's post about what i would change if i wrote hp. here is the full explanation... (i might edit it a bit more later because this is a bit of a ramble oops)
1. more racial diversity and actually having that embedded into the story (having token characters with stereotypical names was very frustrating) i would definitely try and add more culture into backstories that influence even casual conversations etc.
2. more gender diversity especially with complex characters. more trans binary and nonbinary and honestly just well developed women characters too. we only had hermione as the main recurring character and i would love to explore her friendships with the folks in her dorm etc. as well as having some binary and nonbinary trans characters !!!! especially with the women and women adjacent side characters, they were portrayed quite shallowly sometimes. like the dislike of fleur, even though she was literally chosen from all of beaubaxtons, demonstrating her magical capability. it is possible to be feminine and powerful thank you. it was irrational of molly, ginny and hermione to all dislike her (for what seemed like her beauty?!?!) and i feel like it came back to the whole performative thing and that beautiful girls are always mean and the women jealousy thing or whatever and that was just ugh.
3. queer diversity of all kinds – deffo impossible that all the characters are straight and cis. sorry can’t accept that. i would write in my queers, lesbians, bis, pans, omnis, gays, aces, aros, demis, trans-mascs, trans-fems, nonbinary folk, genderfluid folk, sapphics, achilleans etc. etc. we exist sorry not sorry.
4. well developed character relationships. the golden trio independently making friends with other people. would love to see hermione and some study buds and ron playing chess with other folks.
5. give the full redemption arc to draco malfoy and not snape. it would have been so much more powerful to have draco redeemed (***not without him having to go through a gruelling self-discovery/self-reflection/my behaviours are wrong and i need to correct them and face the consequences of my bigotry***) because like harry, he was a child but on the other side of the war. i would write it in a way that away from his father’s shadow he gets to break out and unlearn the toxic stuff, even if that was ignited by voldemort's return (because the idea that you can unlearn your bigotry and become a better person is so so important). snape only did it because of lily and the whole toxic obsession thing, it doesn’t really count as unlearning bigotry imo
6. made it more explicit that dumbledore was a bad guy and the teachers very much enabled his behaviour. harry deserves some closure and its important not to romanticise asking a child to save the world. and also what happened with tom riddle and leaving kids abandoned until they reach hogwarts age is not ok. (i read a fic about it which i will recommend when i found it!)
7. showing mental health issues. even just school itself can be a struggle without all of the save the world pressure and only including mental health in ootp onwards where voldemort was invading harry's mind and then stuff happened. and also harry couldnt possibly be the only one.
8. having trans characters. sorry did i say that already? doesn’t matter. more trans characters please.
9. Maybe would’ve not had remus and tonks together *as it happened in the plot* because I feel like it was a little bit rushed so *if* I did keep them together then it would’ve been way more developed. however, I am slightly more partial to wolfstar so who knows….
10. show more explicitly that the houses aren't inherently good and bad!!!! that was honestly just so stupid.

Hi!! Can you do a ship for me? Any era is good! I’m 5’7, have black hair but I like to dye the tips different colors sometimes, and dark brown eyes. I’m genderfluid and bi so do with that what you will. I love art and poetry and music but I’m also a punk and listen to rock music. I’m a Slytherin, and I am VERY sassy and sarcastic. I’m really into astrology and stuff, and I also am a huge movie + superhero geek. I seem really cold and bitchy at first but I’m pretty chill once you get to know me.
I ship you with Ginny Weasley
Neither of you would pay much attention to each other until both of your fourth years.
Even though you had a lot of classes together you ran in very different circles.
From what she knew about you she didn’t really like you, based mostly on the fact that you were a Slytherin and the fact that your bestfriend was Pansy Parkinson.
Your first real encounter was in your fourth year when you were headed to the Dungeons from the Astronomy Tower and Ginny was on her way to a Dumbeldore’s army meeting.
You saw her sneaking around and decided to follow her. You had heard rumors about Harry Potter’s club and you were curious.
She noticed you were follow her pretty quickly.
“Don’t you dare report me to Umbridge.”
“Why would I do that.”
“You’re a Slytherin, why wouldn’t you.”
“I don’t care about you, or your little club Weasley.”
After that you both seemed to see a lot more of each other.
you had the strange urge to talk to her so when you saw her outside the quidditch pitch after practice you took your chances.
“Weasley!”
“What do you want?”
“I want in on your club.”
“Yeah right.”
“Are you judging based off my house? Sounds an awful lot like prejudice, I though you were against that.”
“Fine, I’ll talk to Harry. But don’t get your hopes up.”
You didn’t initially intend to join Dumbledore’s Army but it seemed like your only opportunity to talk to her.
But if anyone even suggested the idea of liking a Weasley, you would quickly shut it down,
Surprisingly Harry allowed you to attend a meeting and even more surprisingly you were nervous.
Everyone was a little hesitant towards you being there so you hovered in the back as you watched Harry demonstrate some spells.
You came back for more meetings, at first you hadn’t expected to but Harry had a noble cause. And you would love to stand up to all the snobs in your house.
You and Ginny finally became friends when Harry paired the both of you to duel.
“Your not half bad.”
“Thanks Weasley, you’re not awful either.”
“You can call me Ginny, there’s about 3 other Weasleys in here and it can get confusing.”
You started hanging out during your free time rather than only at the meetings.
You introduced her to all the music and movies you liked and she thought it was really cool.
She on the other hand taught you how to play quidditch, it was fun even if you sucked.
You started to spend more time with her than with Pansy, you really enjoyed each others company.
Ginny was the first one to make a move.
“I really like you.”
“Aw thanks, I love my fans.”
“I mean I like you , like you.”
“That’s good because I like you, like you too Weasley.”
Ginny’s friends still didn’t really trust you but you didn’t really care.
The twins really liked you though, they thought you were cool.
Especially when you convinced Ginny to dye her hair. She kept it red but you both got matching purple strands.
She made teased you for being such a geek but she secretly thought it was the cutest whenever you got really excited about movies and superheroes you liked.
You would always cheer for her at quidditch games even if it did earn you dirty looks from your housemates.
When the golden trio left during your 6th year you both stepped up to lead Dumbledore’s Army, you even managed to recruit some Slytherins.
You fought at the Hogwarts War alongside her and comforted her when Fred died.
After the war you both decided to go back to finish school.
It was hard since you both lost friends during the war but you both eventually graduated.
You moved in together after Hogwarts, Ginny became a famous quidditch player rather quickly and you were so happy for her.
You went back to Hogwarts to teach Astrology which you loved.
You proposed to her after her team won the quidditch world cup and she accepted happily.
Her team lifted her up and cheered for the both of you.
definite power couple and every one knew it.
Molly Weasley was your biggest fan.

If it's not too much effort; I always ask for S-L-U-G if I have the option, you can skip letters if you want :] thx
Haha I love that!! Thanks so much for the ask 💞💞
S - Show us an example of your personal headcanonOne of my hc’s is that Sherlock (basically any iteration) is ace/aro-spec (I guess demi?) but definitely gay
L - Say something genuinely nice about a character who isn’t one of your faves.Molly’s character is super sweet and it’s nice to see more female characters in Holmes stories. I really loved the idea of her, but the execution was… She 100% deserved better :((
U - Three favourite characters from three different fandoms, and why they’re your favourites.Irene Adler (ACD Canon) - I honestly completely fell in love with her when I read SCAN. I mean, it’s Irene Adler. (I love Sherlock and John, but I had to pick one character only. Also, you can’t separate S&J)
Loki (Marvel) - Um, a genderfluid bi/pan “villain”? Yes.  And Lady Loki is !!!!
Spock (Star Trek) - I wanted to be Spock when I was younger. Don’t ask, I don’t know either.
(I know this says three but honourable mentions: Crowley (Good Omens),  Legolas (LOTR - I also wanted to be him), Carol Danvers (Marvel), Rosa Diaz (B99), Harley Quinn (DC). Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head, but there are definitely more. Also, I think I have a type.)
G - Have you ever had an OTP? If so, do you remember your first one? Who was in it?Yes!! I’ve had many OTPs. My first OTP (before I knew what fandom was) was probably either Captain von Trapp and Maria (The Sound of Music) or Silver & Gold/Demestrap from, wait for it, Cats the musical. Yes, Cats. I was around 5.
My first real OTPs though (when I actually knew what OTP meant/was active in fandom) were Percabeth, Solangelo (PJO/HoO), and Malec (The Mortal Instruments).
Thanks again for the ask!! It was fun answering these questions :D

One of the (many) reasons I was dad when Molly died was bc he seemed like he didn't expect to live very long? And I know it's unfortunately common for kids to think they'll die before they see 16 or 18 or the like. It would've been frickin INFLUENTIAL to see someone who thought they were destined to die young realize they were wrong and figure out how to keep going.
I’d never considered this angle, but you’re so right and it hurts.
Molly’s expectancy of a short life was more explicitly discussed in interviews outside the show, but it certainly showed in his behavior in-game. Given more time, he might have had to talk about the roots of his hedonism and address those feelings about living on borrowed time.
But then, for him to live… and keep on living. To see the character who’s consciously living fast and expecting to die young not do that, for a change. To make it to the next step and figure out what to do from there, to discover that life has more in store for them than they hoped for. It’s rare to see that kind of character get that kind of outcome, much less navigate their path forward in real time, and it would be so powerful.
I also think it’s safe to say that no insignificant portion of the kids feeling like they aren’t going to make it for long also happen to be queer. People have talked extensively about how meaningful Molly was in that respect, to have been a bi, genderfluid character who owned those parts of his identity as loudly and proudly as any part of him. But to have that queerness and that short life expectancy in one character, and to defy the odds associated with both those things… that would have been huge.
Many people find themselves feeling like they don’t have long to live, and very often, they eventually find they’re wrong. It’s very possible to survive; media representation is just poor. If you’re feeling this way, please hold on. You’re loved more than you realize.
The dice fall as they fall. But I don’t think I’ll ever be over how much more Molly could have done, inside and outside the game.

I decided to finally make a part two of this post, it took me half a year longer than I anticipated, but I rushed to finish it at least for June.
🏳️‍🌈 Happy pride month! 🏳️‍🌈
The Watchmaker of Filigree Street by Natasha Pulley – The best kind of subtle romance I have ever read. Includes mysterious pocket watch, solving bomb threats in Victorian London, a lady scientist, changing of future based on occurring events, an adorable clockwork octopus, and so much more! Did I mention the best, most beautiful romance I didn’t even expect to get?? Read it! (mlm main characters)
All out: The No-Longer-Secret Stories of Queer Teens Throughout the Ages by multiple authors, edited by Saundra Mitchell – This book was so refreshing to read!!! Retellings of fairy tales but queer and poc and mostly happy. I enjoyed each of the short story so so much, I don’t have words to say how much I loved this book, just, can we please have more stories like that? Thank you.
Radio Silence by Alice Oseman – Ever wanted a book with a main character boy and girl who won’t end up together by the end of the book? Then this is a book for you. Frances and Aled do not only become best friends who won’t end up together, but there’s even more diverse characters than these two main ones. This book even has an ace (demi) sexual representation, which I was very excited about, and the main character is biracial bisexual girl. There is lot of fandom talk and a radio show drama (kind of similar to Welcome to Night Vale). But also talks about other important topics like deciding that college might not be for everyone despite them being a great student in high school.
Not Your Sidekick by C.B. Lee – It’s a cute and sweet superhero themed futuristic story, first book of a trilogy I think. The main character is Vietnamese American bisexual girl, Jessika Tran, whose parents are both superheroes, but she doesn’t have any powers. She starts working for a company she later discovers belongs to town’s villains, but with time she learns that not everything about superheroes and villains is perfectly black and white. Also she’s working there with her crush, so that’s a bonus. It’s a really great book, there’s wlw romance and lot of diversity, action and silly scenes. The history behind the people’s superpowers and worldbuilding was really interesting too. The sequel is also already out, featuring a poc trans boy as the main character, who is part of Jessika‘s friend squad.
The Gentleman‘s guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee – A book everyone here should read!! A historical roadtrip with lot of angst, fluff and mutual pining of two of the main characters. It takes place in 18th century Europe. Monty is kind of an asshole, some moments you will hate him then you will love him, but as the journey progresses so does he. He travels with his sister, Felicity, and his best friend (and crush!) Percy, to visit few cities in Europe before he has to start work in his fathers company. This book addressed lot of issues, like white privilege and racism in that time period, sexism and ableism. But it’s also an adventurous book that’s funny and charming, and makes you feel really happy one moment and sad the next. There are also pirates!
Dreadnought by April Daniels – This is a first book of a duology about a lesbian trans girl Danny who receives superpowers after witnessing death of the superhero Dreadnought, which means she now has to become the new Dreadnought. But with the powers also becames real the ideal vision of her body, that she always wanted. She is very happy about it, but it also means she has to face her family and best friend and explain why she looks different. On top of that she has to help the other superheroes with stopping the new threat to the city, the villain who killed previous Dreadnought. Trigger warnings for transphobia, but it’s really worth to read.
Mask of Shadows by Linsey Miller – I’ve seen mixed reviews of this book but personally I loved it. It’s a fantasy YA with lgbt protagonist, that I don’t have enough of. Sal is a genderfluid, also bi? pan? thief who enters a competition to become one of Queen’s Assassins. Basically the last one standing (or rather living) takes the place. Sal knows how to fight and survive but also needs to learn other things to win this position. Like taking classes of writing/reading which teaches him a lady of court they previously stole something from, whom Sal quickly starts to like more than they should, with the competition at play. For me it was a really great book to read and I can’t wait to read the sequel!
The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli – I had to read this one quickly before Leah on the offbeat came out, and it was a joy to read this one too! Again so much representation, I love Becky’s books and the Simon vs world. This story is about Molly who has had a lot of crushes but never actually dated anyone. She’s jewish, has anxiety, is fat, loves her family, is very creative, and has another crush on a guy who is her coworker. There’s so much cuteness in this book, I was smiling and crying the whole time reading it. More for representation: her sister is gay, she has two moms, a new Korean-American pansexual friend (who her sister totally likes) and more. I need to meantion trigger warnings for fatphobia, because of part there with her relative, it made me cry so much, it was very reletable and I hated it but there was very good closure for it in the end, which I’m happy about. Anyway read this book, overall it’s a cute and happy book with lots of fluff!
Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli – I loved Leah from the Simon vs book, so I was really happy we got more focus on her. She’s fat and funny, unapologetic about who she is, in her words: “basically your resident fat Slytherin Rory Gilmore”. There was mentions she likes boys as well as girls. Because of a tour for her college she goes with Abby to see where she will live the next few years and stuff happens. And then there’s also their high school prom, which she thought she was ready for, but maybe she’s not ready for at all. I’m not even going to write more, it’s an amazing book, I cried so many times.
Timekeeper by Tara Sim – This story takes place in a Victorian era Britain where clock towers are needed for time to flow correctly. Therefore there is lot of mechanics who repair said clock towers, because if the clock stops, the town around it stops in time as well. The main character Danny is one of those mechanics in London, but his father is trapped in a town that Stopped and Danny needs to find a way to save him. But after someone tries to sabotage a clock tower in a small city, Danny is assigned in that town to fix it, and he eventually finds out that the myths he heard – that in clock towers could sometimes be seen beings, spirits of the towers – might actually be true. This book was so nice to read, there was the atmosphere of the Victorian era, mystery, cute mlm romance and awesome female characters.
I’ll give you the sun by Jandy Nelson – I cried a lot reading this book. At first it actually took me few months to read past first two chapters, because the writing style was so different from what I was used to, but after that I got absorbed in it very quickly. It’s a story about two siblings, Noah and Jude Sweetwine, who both go through some difficult times, with family, school and personal stuff, it’s about making mistakes and fixing mistakes. It’s about love, art, sibling struggles and growing up.
Other books that I read and loved and definitely recommend:
Of Fire and Stars - Audrey Coulthurst (f/f fantasy romance)
We are the Ants –  Shaun David Hutchinson (m/m)
In Other Lands -  Sarah Rees Brennan (bi mc, m/m)
Release – Patrick Ness (m/m)
Our dark duet – V.E. Schwab (sequel of duology, agender character, not much romance at all in this duology, it‘s one of my favourites)
A Conjuring of Light – V.E. Schwab (a beautiful fantasy, last book of trilogy, happy ending for m/m pairing whose each story is important throughout the whole series. Again, one of my favourite series)
Magnus Chase and the Ship of Dead - Rick Riordan (I don‘t want to spoil here but it‘s good, genderfluid representation since book two, more in this final book)
Ice crypt - Tiana Warner (sequel of the Ice Massacre, wlw romance between mermaid and human girl, who knew each other since childhood, there is third final book, Ice Kingdom, already out, but I still haven‘t read it..)
Happy reading!
(tagging few people who i think might enjoy it ♥♥: @eradne, @poefinn, @twomillionfreckles, @eliotcoldwater, @queen-max, @tsukiyam-a)

Submitted by A. Non:
I know there’s all these headcanons about the older Weasley siblings being queer role models for their younger siblings, but honestly, Molly seems like the type of person who would be rather easily drawn in by queerphobia (like she folded to internalized misogyny) and Arthur would at least complacently feel the same or be one of those people who didn’t see why it was important to think otherwise, so I actually think the Weasley gang would be pretty repressed… at first.
Bill honestly just thought it was normal to be attracted to multiple genders but only be allowed to date one, so never talked about. Charlie knew he was different but it didn’t cause him problems, so he always dodged his mother’s questions with “there’s just nobody around I’m interested in right now”. Percy focused really hard on schoolwork and jumped on dating Penelope because she was the first witch that he’d been attracted to. Fred and George buried themselves in their pranks - getting in trouble always helped them avoid questions of when they were going to date and the like. And poor Ron struggled with loads of self-doubt and self-esteem issues and kept all the feelings he knew his parents wouldn’t accept deep, deep down because he just wanted to do something amazing. Ginny’s always known she was a girl, but she stayed closeted for safety within her family and dated for cover but could never really get into her relationships because she felt fake and distant from those she was dating.
And there’s been a lot of queer wix the Weasley siblings never really knew or recognized were around them over the years, but after the War, everyone gets aggressive about being out and loud and very, very proud because they just really need to be themselves and be able to celebrate something.
Fleur’s queer (gender and sexuality), Lee’s bi and aceflux, Angelina is a queer trans woman, Harry’s bigender and bi, Hermione is demiro pan, and Luna’s autigender and lith. Of course, transmasc nonbinary gay Kingsley is leading the charge as Minister of Magic. And lesbian Headmistress McGonagall is making some changes to Hogwarts.
And suddenly all the Weasley kids are coming out. Bill’s going “oh, you mean not everyone is attracted to multiple genders? Wow, guess I’m bi then” and being with Fleur helps him realize that he’s also genderfluid. And Charlie’s admitting he’s apagender and aroace. Percy is bi and demisexual. George is confused as hell about everything but knows he isn’t straight. Ron is agender and queer with a preference for men. Ginny’s a trans woman and quoi and queer.
Molly’s first reaction is resistance and denial but she’s so, so, so tired of fighting and she’s already lost Fred and she was without Percy for so long, so she shuts her mouth and withdraws to do some research and soul searching. Arthur comes around much more quickly. When he sees how he hurts his kids, there’s lots of apologies. He loves learning all the different orientation terms from his kids and their friends, though, and that’s how he learns he’s demi: a demiboy, demisexual, and demiromantic. And finally Molly returns to her family and there’s lots of apologies and discussions and working hard to do better, but the story does have a happy ending.
Too many tags but hf this is a beautiful headcanon.

ive been following you for years now (since around when promare came out) and this whole time ive just assumed that mollymauk was the main character of critrole but i was talking to a sibling and they were like yeah hes only in 20eps. that cannot be true. i fully was like yeah mollymauks the main character they drive the plot right right?????
HELP THIS IS SO FUNNY ASKSLG---wait, let me explain--
In the year 2018, I started watching the Campaign 2 livestream from when the very first episode aired. I watched live right up until episode 25--26, the one where they lose Molly? That was the first episode I couldn't watch during the stream, and have never been able to bring myself to watch it since.
So 26 episodes doesn't sound like a whole lot. But each one is usually between four to four and a half hours long--there are even some that go up to six hours, and the longest one clocks in at just a little over seven hours. So you're talking about each episode being like four hours--and they were once a week every week. So by the time episode 26 rolled around, I had been getting super invested in this character over the course of several months. I just now checked a list of the runtime for episodes 1-26, so--if my math is right?? and that's a big if lmao--we're talking about a character that has over 100 and a half hours of screentime in the beginning, which is wild--
So yeah, in the grand scheme of things, it for sure doesn't seem like much. But given the nature of CR, it was definitely more than enough time for me to get attached--though honestly, Taliesin had me hooked on this tiefling from the very first episode, I didn't stand a chance. His whole personality and the little glimpses we got of his backstory just meant so much to me, and I adored that he was bi and genderfluid. He's the kind of character that really draws you into the world; I was so excited to see how he'd change over the course of the story, how his heartfelt relationships with all the other characters would unfold--
Molly's character arc isn't abandoned after 26 episodes either. In fact, he comes back as the final villain of the campaign over 100 episodes later. When the tiefling we know makes his reappearance as the major antagonist Lucien, the whole final arc of the campaign revolves around him and his past with the Mighty Nein. Very much a case of someone haunting the narrative. There's just something I love about how Molly is the one that first brings them all together, and then the entire finale of the campaign ended up leading right back to him and how much he meant to his family.
And then the arc ends with the party finally getting the chance to perform a ritual to resurrect him!! It was a very long wait, but the culmination of everything to do with Molly in the penultimate episode was definitely worth it. There's also all the secondary source materials that add to his character. He's got a prequel comic like the rest of the party. And he's the only one of all the Campaign 2 characters that gets a whole novel of "his" backstory, mainly focused on his life as Lucien. You can even buy a copy of Molly's tarot deck, which is such a fun piece of added lore and depth.
Anyway, I am so sorry I gave you the wrong idea about Molly asjslfjdfhf but he is absolutely the main character in my heart 💜 So much of his character is about how every little moment matters. And even if you don't get to have someone in your life for very long, that time you spent with them will always mean something. Acts of love and kindness are never a waste, even if it doesn't last. He's a character who was loved so much it made him whole, gave him a second chance he thought he'd never get. His story is very melancholy and tragic, but it's also just so bittersweet and cathartic and heartfelt. He is,, my blorbo--

hey, not a ship question but can you tell us about who all the non-canon hp next gen kids are?
yeah, yeah absolutely! thanks for asking.
so first of all, i write fic in two verses. i detailed this in a response on archiveofourown:
Yeah, the thing is I can see the headspace that led Harry to name his middle child but I can’t get over that poor child having to live with that name? So, I’ve basically come up with two solutions
              a) renaming all three of the Potter kids with no first names that are explicitly other (dead) people’s names so James Sirius became Simon, which means either ‘he has heard of my suffering’ (or ‘there is sin’), which seemed an appropriate tribute to the morally ambiguous Snape, with middle name James. Albus Severus became Alfred which is admittedly a bit of an old man sounding name but it means ‘elf counsel’ and the ‘counsel’ bit seems like a good tribute to any one of Harry’s mentors plus the two halves of the name can honor both Dumbledore ‘Al’ and Fred ‘fred’ with middle name Sirius. Lily Luna became Ruby as a tribute to Hagrid and I gave her two middle names because there didn’t seem to be any reason not to honor Luna. Someone’s also pointed out that Luna could be a less obvious tribute to Remus as well as Luna herself. So all three Marauders who influenced Harry’s life in good ways represented as well his mum, Hagrid, Snape and Dumbledore, and Ginny also got to honor two people who are very important to her and I don’t hate the kids’ names. Success.
or            b) just changing Al’s name and leaving James and Lily’s alone. If Al had been born a cis girl, it seems pretty clear that Harry and Ginny would have named her ‘Lily Luna’ since that’s the name they gave Lily. But she wasn’t so that gave me the opportunity to let her name herself.
there are four differences between the two verses: in verse a, known as a little bit louder now, the potter kids are simon, al, and ruby, who are all gryffindors as is rose, whereas in verse b, known as never be the same again, the potter kids are james, ruby, and lily, james is still a gryffindor but ruby’s a slytherin, rose is a ravenclaw, and lily decided to go to beauxbatons instead.
things that are the same in both verses:
teddy is genderfluid and uses they/them/theirs pronouns. they’re a hufflepuff. victoire, lucy, and lysander were born the same year - victoire in may, lucy in july, lysander in august - and they’re all three ravenclaws.
the next oldest kids are fred, simon/james, and louis in that order, who are all gryffindors. louis is bi.
next come rose, scorpius, al/ruby, and dominique - rose born in january, scorpius in march and al/ruby and dominique in april. scorpius is a ravenclaw and dominique a gryffindor in both verses. rose is a gryffindor in a little bit louder now but a ravenclaw in never be the same again and al is a gryffindor but ruby is a slytherin. scorpius is pan and dominique refuses to label herself but she’s something.
next comes molly by her lonesome. she’s a hufflepuff.
then the quartet of hugo, roxanne, lorcan, and ruby/lily, although lily went to beauxbatons. hugo’s the oldest and lorcan’s the youngest. ruby/lily is older than roxanne. hugo and lorcan are hufflepuffs and roxanne and lily are gryffindors. ruby/lily’s bi.
okay, that handles all the canon kids.
teddy’s romantic interest is victoire. but his closest friend is dorothea ?, a muggle-born. victoire’s closest friend is jenny ?.
simon’s love interest is hillary carmichael wood, the older daughter and middle child of katie bell and eddie carmichael. she’s a ravenclaw, like her dad. her older brother is aidan, who was in gryffindor and plays quidditch professionally, and her younger sister, a squib, is rachel. their dad died young and their mom remarried her high school sweetheart oliver wood. the carmichael kids consider oliver to be their dad as much as eddie and added wood onto the end of their names.
annie boot, the daughter of terry boot and mandy brocklehurst, is aidan’s long-term girlfriend. she was a ravenclaw.
hillary’s best friends are tess corner, youngest child and only daughter of lisa turpin and michael corner, and delilah patil-brown, the younger daughter of lavender brown and parvati patil. they’re both ravenclaws. lisa and michael’s older kids are noah and mark corner, both ravenclaws. delilah’s older sister is isadora, who was a gryffindor.
fred’s love interest is cecily macmillan, only child and daughter of ernie macmillan and susan bones. to everyone who knows her’s shock because cecily is generally considered one of the sweetest and kindest people, she was sorted into slytherin. cecily’s best friend is carolina zabini, triplet and older daughter of sophie roper and blaise zabini. by contrast, carolina is regarded as something of a bitch. her brothers are luca, a gryffindor, and giovanni, a ravenclaw, and her little sister is bettina, a hufflepuff.
simon and fred play quidditch with sylvie browne, a halfblood daughter of a franco witch mother and british muggle father. note the ‘e’ on the end of her name. she’s no relation to lavender. she plays chaser with simon and jasmine shafiq. jasmine replaced aidan, hillary’s brother who graduated a year earlier. fred plays beater with attilius belby, some relation to marcus belby. their keeper is roxanne and their seeker is clarence summerby. when clarence graduates, adele platt, sylvie’s half-sister tries out for the position and wins it.
louis doesn’t get a proper love interest until post-hogwarts. he does fool around with a number of people while at hogwarts though. he and carolina get together briefly post-hogwarts but while the physical part of the relationship works well, they want different things emotionally, so they break up.
draco and astoria had only one child but when scorpius was eight, they brought home five-year-old phoebe malfoy, a distant cousin descended from a disowned squib on the malfoy family tree who’s parents died in a car crash (no, really). they raised the two as siblings and phoebe was sorted into the traditional malfoy house of slytherin.
rose and scorpius are each other’s romantic interests, although they see other people before getting together.
al is kind of head over heels for elizabeth “betsy” cornfoot, a fellow gryffindor and daughter of stephen cornfoot. she is wholly uninterested in him and her best friend is nora wilkes, daughter and granddaughter of death eaters both of whom are in azkaban and raised by her mother and grandmother. she is not treated particularly well by her fellow gryffindors and resents the fact that she and her family are suffering from something entirely not her fault.
also in their dormitory is sarah thomas, eldest kid and older daughter of seamus finnigan, dean thomas, and lilith moon. she’s a lesbian and a bit aloof, finding the shenanigans of the potter kids and their friends to be a bit much. the thomas kids are stacked right on top of each other. sarah’s younger brother ian is a year younger and a gryffindor. ian is also molly’s love interest and best guy friend. youngest child claudia is a hufflepuff and a year younger than ian.
there’s also muggle-born irish girl deirdre byrne, a real chatterbox and sweetie. greek effie lykos, who was bitten by a werewolf when she was five. she has two younger siblings, julius and bethy. her best friend (and romantic interest) is francis ‘frankie’ longbottom, only son and middle child of neville longbottom and hannah abbott. frankie’s ace. his older sister alice called ali was a ravenclaw and his younger sister is cecilia called cecy, a hufflepuff who plays seeker on the house team.
cho chang married an korean-american witch and had one daughter: susanna eleanora, known as suellen. she’s in love with sylvie but sylvie thinks she’s interested in simon and finds her an annoying hanger-on.
in their seventh year, dominique decides to take hufflepuff thérèse pelletier, who is herself hopelessly in love with al potter, as her protégé. thérèse was born petchara tanasugarn out of wedlock to a muggle thai mother, mai tanasugarn, and ambassador french wizard father, anatole pelletier. her father was significantly older than her mother and retained no emotional interest in his offspring, only supporting them financially. when petchara was eight, her mother died and her father came to retrieve her. he put her in the care of his sister, petchara’s aunt, the formidable véronique pelletier, who promptly renamed her niece and forbade her from speaking anything but french. age ten, anatole was made ambassador to the british ministry of magic and the ‘family’ moved to britain. thérèse recieved her hogwarts letter a year later.
ruby’s first friend in slytherin is margaret ‘daisy’ delano, a muggle-born chatterbox a year older than her.
laura devi is molly’s year but a ravenclaw. ruby had a crush on her while they were in school but they only dated post-hogwarts. lily still ends up with her, though they meet under different circumstances.
ruby and roxanne are initially friends with marta, a halfblood gryffindor. but when they catch onto the fact that she’s only friends with them for the social capital, they drop her, which leads her to get even by getting ruby’s first boyfriend luke to cheat with her.
hugo falls for beatrice mclaggen, the daughter of cormac mclaggen and marietta edgecombe. things are good for awhile but they eventually fizzle out. his endgame love interest, who he doesn't meet until after hogwarts, is the amazing sadie laufman, who is trans and jewish. she has a younger sister nellie.
roxanne and lorcan are romantic interests. almost no one but hugo and ruby really get it since they’re such a odd combo but they work.
