For many years, I've carried a pocket notebook in which I inscribe daily musings, documentary information, grocery lists, etc., etc. These informational notes find their way into the art journals that are most often completed back home in my studio. Fully completed notebooks are archived in handmade book boxes.

in between sable covers, there lies barren pages ready to be paved over with roads of liquid ink cascaded gracefully from a draining reservoir as a nib dances upon virginal sheets. this burning waltz, vocabulary-driven, begins with gliding twirls of temptation but timidity, a twisting plunge of penmanship, an alluring flame hoped to be felt deeply with each consonant and lively vowel until she pours freely from her own pen of her sublime mind, and from lips fondly spurred by miles of ardent words left unsung, verses deferred by a tardy tongue.
