every time a term is invented to express "outside the cishet paradigm", like clockwork, someone argument against it seems to catch on - some parallel construction of "oh, of course I don't oppose such a word existing in principle, but that particular word is wrong".

remember the mid 2010s when people on this site were toying with "MOGAI"? and then it fell from popularity, not for being a "slur", but for being supposedly the exclusive domain of confused and self-deluding cishet teens?

remember all the stupid arguments over LGBTQ+ and where to end the acronym? how too many letters is derided as "alphabet soup", but too few is argued as excluding anything that wasn't deliberately mentioned (a convenient property for folks who would prefer to end the word at "LGB")?

the justification, then, is different every time. and yet somehow, every time, such an argument gains traction. one might start to wonder if this is the point - if, somehow, the arguments are arising because someone desires, and is putting in effort to ensure, that there remain no easy way to refer to the broad umbrella of everyone for whom the cishet paradigm is insufficient, nor to succinctly position oneself under that umbrella.

can people like. chill out about queer terminology that they don't personally enjoy. "ugh I hate these new tenderqueer vocab words like 'mx' 'nibling' 'sapphic' 'mlm' 🤢🤢🤢 they're so infantilizing just call me a slur" so fun fact you don't actually have to call yourself words just because they exist and other people use them. some of the ones I see people hate on most often as ~tumblrcore mogai cringe~ aren't even particularly new, sapphic is from the 1890s and nibling and achillean are from the 1950s. there are some 2010s coined words around, but, like, who cares. why does that matter. sometimes people invent words to suit new niches. there is nothing inherently childlike about any of these words, those associations came from you, You Have Internalized Queerphobia.

Weird mogai headcanon complaint but I rarely see people in a lot of mogai headcanoning circles, and even in wider LGBT media circles, headcanoning or writing nonbinary characters who act like me (for basic reference: my personality is like if tsukasa tenma, an shiraishi, emu otori, mizuki akiyama, minori hanasato, and saki tenma were Real, with some dashes of davesprite and nepeta depending on which facet is fronting) as like...Not Man and Not Woman. People usually headcanon nonbinary characters who act like me as like...either pangender, bigender m/f, bigender male or female aligned (and usually due to misogyny characters who have my traits tend to be female aligned unless headcanoned as transfem adjacent lmao) or like nixera/juxera or nixvir/proxvir or like...in some way binary aligned. And like...no, even though sometimes I'm pangender, I'm mostly, even when fronting as who I currently am, epicene, gendereaux, panabinary and pangenderless for the most part. It's like people can't imagine Stereotypical AuDHD Happy Smile people like me as anything but binary aligned and it makes me mad because I desperately wish there were more nonbinary characters who looked like a short, superfat androgynous afab person with big boobs and acted like the stereotypical emu otori/tsukasa tenma fusion

i cannot believe this has to be said over and over again, but please stop coming to the liomogai community and related circles if you are an exclusionist or you think you have the right to determine who can or cannot use a label within their own related experiences.. policing labels and usage of terms is never gonna be helpful, and youre hurting your own community for petty things when many are losin their rights & losing their lives.

the liom community focuses on taboo and niche labels without the support for abuse or self harm, or the promotion of such. the mogai community focuses on MARGINALIZED orientations, genders/alignments and intersex folks.

if you cannot accept goodfaith / authentic self identification that doesnt comply to patriarqueer ideals ("all gay men are strictly men", "all lesbians are women", "all trans people have a certain sex"), then you are not welcome in the liomogai/tumblr coining community. it really is that simple.

to add on, please stop linking certain sex characteristics to transness. one does not need a penis and scrotum to be transfem, one does not need a vulva and breatss to be transmasc- even perisex people can choose to identify as these things if they have their own reasons for it. transness should never be linked to biological sex, trans and intersex people have been begging you to stop this.

gender is impacted by many other things aside biological sex; race, ethnicity, culture, disabilities, neurodivergence, mental illness, and much more. the way some of you limit gender to genitals and chromossomes is glaringly (inter-)sexist. ive heard from many folks that their race or culture made them feel disconnected from gender despite having the ""right sex"" for it; that, too, is a perfectly plausible and undeniable cause for transness. ive heard mentally ill l, disabled and neurodivergent folks with similar issues- it is simply not anyone's place to dictate who can or can't be trans. the period comes here, no "if"s or "but"s.

please. for the love of god. stop policing how people identify. stop saying that you must have XYZ elements in your existence to use labels. labels are meant to help those who use them, not those who perceive someone from outside. labels are meant to fit you, not the other way around- lest we reinvent and continue the cycle of enforcing roles like patriarchy does.

thank you for your attention, and please stop with these things. youre helping no one by having queer people with certain labels in your DNI, youre only furthering the barriers between the community. we stand united or die separately. love your strange queer fellows and stop being cops, for cod's sake. 🐟

Hi all, I'm making this post to inform everyone about a user that currently goes by the name @/basedhartman. This person is notorious in agere and therian spaces, however, they aren't so well known outside of these niche communities.

In the past, Basedhartman has shown their hatred towards multiple groups including disabled people, age regressors, LGBTQ+ people, anyone who isn't Christian, and many, many more. This user has been harassing others for many months now, coming back with a new account every time.

Most recently, they were banned after they exposed minors to real images of gore on their blog. As members of the platform, we can't allow this abhorrent behaviour to continue.

Please block and report this user. Reblog so we can spread the word and put an end to this. I'll be tagging a number of some of the more popular blogs (and some others too) on this site so this message can be spread to as many people as possible.
