would you happen to have a flight sim recommendation? Ive seen you post about using them and wondered which one you thought would be best
Depends what you're looking for.
The two big players are Microsoft Flight Simulator and X-Plane.
MSFS is very pretty, it has some decent tutorials built-in, and there's a huge array of content for it, but, at least on my computer, it runs somewhat unstably. It's also very accessible, bordering on hand-holding, which can be good if you're new to flight sims but can also get very old very quickly once you know what you're doing. It's also designed for a gamepad primarily, and you can play it on Xbox. I think its a a little over-designed actually. There's a ton of aftermarket planes available, mostly thru the in-game browser. There might be freeware, i haven't really looked into it.
X-Plane is less pretty, the graphics are maybe a tiny bit more dated, you don't get the photorealistic scenery, but the flight dynamics are much, much more realistic. The difference is hard to explain succinctly but the long and short of it is that, on average, a well designed aircraft for X-Plane will feel "more real" than one in MSFS. X-Plane is also usable on Windows, Mac, and Linux. There's a lot of aftermarket content for it, but less than MSFS, although last i checked there's a larger portion of freeware. It's also a little more persnickty vis-a-vis installation and management. X-Plane also comes with a utility to help you make airplanes for it, though you have to provide the 3D modeling software (like blender) yourself.
Overally, it really boils down to what you want in your flight simulator
MSFS
Pros:
Photorealistic Scenery
Wide variety of assistance
Highly accessible tutorials
Lots of aftermarket content
Available on Windows and Xbox
Cons:
Less realistic flight dynamics
Pretty graphics means higher system requirements
Can be overbearing if you're experienced with flight sims
Designed for a gamepad first and foremost, feels somewhat awkward with the old fashioned joystick, mouse, and keyboard
X-Plane
Pros:
More realistic Flight Dynamics
Built-in plane maker utility
Runs on Windows, Linux, and Mac
Slightly more generous system requirements
Takes up waaaaaaaaaay less space (my install, which has a shitload of aftermarket content in it, takes up 30gb less than my vanilla MSFS install)
Great if you're familiar with flight sims or flying in general
Cons:
Finicky installation and content management compared to MSFS. If you're used to digging in folders and installing mods that way, you won't have any trouble with it, but if you're not experienced with that its got a bit of a learning curve (and you should learn that! it's a great skill!)
Scenery is more generic than MSFS, particularly outside of major cities
Requires a computer, not available on PS5 or Xbox (Imo this is a pro, not a con, but if you don't have a gaming computer its obviously a problem)
Less aftermarket content available
Requires a bit of manual configuration to get going right
Fewer tutorials
Now, I understand it sounds like MSFS is "better" but i really feel that X-Plane is the better choice if you're going to get seriously into this stuff. That being said, i have both, and I play both, but I play X-Plane a whole lot more. If you're brand-new at flight simming, i'd recommend getting MSFS, but don't splurge for the super-deluxe editions. If you've simmed before, i can't recommend X-Plane enough.
TL;DR: MSFS is good for beginners, X-Plane is better for anyone beyond beginner level.

I'm thankful for Pizza.
Hey, it's thanksgiving so lets give thanks for a variety of things.
It was honestly a pretty good year for me. Especially when it came to gaming.
Pizza Tower came out after years of waiting. I honestly would have released it shortly after the SAGE 19 demo given that the version was so well approved and already had a fanbase and a mod base for it.
But that didn't happen. Mcpig worked on more of the game, adding a bunch of stuff and removing just as many things.
There are plenty of videos about what ended up on the cutting room floor but my favorite thing is the Mansion because it was such an ambitious level that almost always had some kind of lore for its backbone only to get dropped because it was too large or too slow of a level.
Other stuff like having a two player mode with distinctly different characters to play as looked like a nice idea but in reality was just bloat.
In the end it all became mods and with a fully fledged game to cut their teeth on, modders would go absolutely bonkers with what they add and change. From making Pepperman actually functional to bringing back multiple versions of all the dropped levels the game is basically a huge success and has a really devoted mostly sane fanbase.
Emulation is here to stay
The Steam deck is a very successful device and with good reason. It's well made and easy to modify. The Steam Machine didn't work because there was no logical way into the PC market in a way that wasn't redundant.
Handhelds however were a different story. While the Switch and the 3DS dominated for years a secret project was being worked on. Handheld devices that can play multiple games from different franchises. Different developers. It wasn't streaming. It was emulation.
Emulation devices were more than just a knockoff device that Rerez would end up playing where almost all the games were bootlegs of bootlegs.
Real attempts at making real devices that could play real games using the various open source software that was available to them were being worked on.
This took many years. The PSP line actually held the title of being a really high quality emulation device but after the last couple of years true successors have been found.
The Steam deck, even with its massive potential as a device that can play thousands of games sold on the Valve store has the capabilities to easily play several generations of games flawlessly through emulation.
But it's very expensive. Which created a market of people who wanted a Steam Deck but couldn't afford one. So since the release of the release of the Steam Deck the emulation handheld scene exploded with a much sharper level of quality.
Emulation handhelds went from being Meh to Good overnight and with a massive amount of variety, portability, custom firmware, the ability to run Linux, Windows, or Android (depending on the device) and a community that easily maps out what does and doesn't work well on these devices.
Hell, half of these emulation devices already come with thousands of actual, working games on them. I bought a emulation device a couple months ago and it had Cave Story and Shovel Knight as well as several other playable stand alone titles.
There was also the option to mod a 3DS into an emulation device but if you wanted to play non Nintendo releases you were quickly entering scuffed territory (same with the PSPvita when playing Nintendo games).
If you wanted a really well rounded experience, it is more than 200 dollars but an Ayn Odin or upward would get you an impressive range of play ability.
You really are spoiled for choice these days when it comes to games which brings me to my next point.
The game industry is not video-games
I keep getting told that gaming is actually in a bad spot right now. Lots of layoffs, some truly terrible releases, and the ones that do find financial success are complete parasites sucking the blood out of willing whales.
Oh, and what was it? 90% of games being lost?
That last one sounds really bad on paper until you realize that all of human history is like that. Can you even imagine all the stories that were lost to time because the average man couldn't read or write or how certain experimental attempts at music were forgotten because they were before the age of music recording, made by a person whose work was too far ahead of its time?
Hell, a centuries' worth of film is lost because the owner of the property threw it away or it was destroyed in a fire or the original copy naturally degraded over time and there were no other copies of it or even worse, the original was edited meaning that the original master copy was effectively erased.
I get it. We shouldn't have games become unplayable due to bullshit DRM or the game needing a remote server to run or it being tied down to very specifically designed hardware and firmware but to act like gaming is going extinct is hyperbolic.
The reality is that for most people, a life time's worth of video games is already at your fingertips.
It's just a fact, you have way more games than you do time on earth to play them all and any game that becomes lost to the sands of time can probably be recreated as long as you aren't a stickler for copyright.
It's never been easier to play older games and it's never been easier to make a game simply running on the inspiration of a dead or mishandled franchise.
All the stuff about the layoffs and big game studios feeling the squeeze?
THAT'S GOOD.
The reality is that gaming as an art is doing just fine. If you make a really nice game that comes from the heart, even if when it's technically just okay. You can find some kind of success out of making it and people will have fun playing it. No triple A publisher would green light a Visual Novel like Slay the Princess even though Slay the Princess is probably the greatest Renpy visual novel game that has ever been made (which was tough competition seeing as it had to beat Doki Doki and Snoot game) and will have a profit margin which is more than I can say about Gollum.
Aside from whales who vary between being addicts and people with good jobs but no one in their life to dump money into (you can decide for yourself which one is sadder, having a crippling addiction or having nothing in your life other than Genshin Impact), the real thing keeping Triple A gaming afloat was investors.
As someone who is knee deep in the investment field, infinite growth is a real delusion pressed upon by stock holders. If you do the same as last year people want to sell the shares and buy something with moon potential. Sure literally every world renown investor whose word is so valuable stadiums get packed just to hear what they have to say in 0.5 speed (those old men take their time to deliver a speech) will tell you to find something that is stable enough while also offering value in the form of good dividends. From Warren Buffet to the Motley Fool they'll tell you to buy and hold for decades.
But uhh, people want their generational wealth now and if you have enough of those psychos in the boardroom when you decide the direction of your video game company you're going to get into some shit and into some shit a lot of them did.
But now investors are feeling the pinch so it's harder to press your thumb on the CEO when you have to sell off some assets just to make sure you don't end up in a bad spot.
But don't feel too bad for those big suits. They got used to gamblers throwing money at them so when money started drying out they cut talent rather than their paychecks which tells you what they really value in a company (I mean is it a surprise? When you've never worked in the industry you're a Chief Executive Officer in, you don't even think about if something is or isn't replaceable).
So you should be prepared for a crash, a lot of stuff is going to fall over if they don't figure out a restructure that doesn't accounts for priced in growth.
But um, like I said. There are thousands of playable complete, and easily modded games out there for you to play. You don't need to play a new game every year. arguably if you've never played it, heard of it, or know anything about it, that game IS NEW. For you.
So go play it. And if the game you want to play absolutely doesn't exist then ya know what.

Impromptu rant on FOSS from someone who barely know how to compuper
Ok so there is this whole thing about how FOSS shit is more secure and shit cus you can see the code but it's really hard to take anyone who says this shit seriously when most of them will on the same breath blindly install 98% of their linux programs from some public repo maintained by god-knows-who at which point.... kinda defeats the whole point of being able to check the source code as means of security, innit? In the end if you are trusting some greedy ass company going "trust me bro" or some repo who operates on about the same logic it doesn't really make that much of a difference.
"Uh well but people can check it on their own still and report"
That however necessitates that
1. Someone Actually Fucking Bothers to crawl to the code
2. The code is intelligible to that person
3. The code isn't deliberately misleading or if so, the person is able to catch on it (this caused drama on the starsector modding scene as a modder deliverately obfuscated code that added interactions with other mods as a function pretending to be anything else. Innoffensive, yes in this particular case, but it took a while to be noticed AND if it was something actually harmful, would be something harmful that even with peole looking into the code would've already spread around and done damage. Bad and realistic possibility, yikes!)
4. That the person shares that vital info
5. That information on it actually fucking spreads and gets to either repo moderators(and that they remove it) or potential users before the software is used.
That's a lot of possible points of failure! And a lot of them is dependent on skills that not everyone has the time to hone or even if they requires them to be... quite sharp at noticing bullshit, something that is not very controllable, or measurable.
Of course, none of this detracts from the actual value of FOSS, user customization. So let's talk about user customization!
Ultimately for a FOSS to be actually editable in any meaningful way by a user again we are met with quite a lot necessary conditions
1. The program must be in a language intelligible to the user, or sufficiently documented and commented so that the user can at least understand the code across this first techinical barrier
2. The code needs to actually be receptive to modifications. If the act of debugging is already hell, modifying an existing code can be about as if not more of a hellish experience, specially if the code doesn't have the flexibility built in to do changes without needing to effectively change it to such a fundamental level that it's not really different from making it from fucking scratch.
3. either way, other than understanding the code, the user must have enough coding competency to actually be able to do the modifications they desire.
4. If the user does not know how to do the desired changes with the language of the and the source is not compatible with different sections done in different languages, the the user hits a hard brick wall on any customization, rendering them about as free to modify the program to their desires as a windows 11 user can their OS.
Wow how freeing. (Sarcasm.)
"oh but what about Mods by other users"
That requires that
1. There are actually mods of the program circulating
2. The mods in question can be trusted, bringing back the whole security problem
3. The mods actually do what the user wants, and if not, allows them to circumvent every single issue mentioned on the editability section so they can actually use it as a bridge for their desired modification.
Which again, not very promising.
The biggest issue here is that while the supposed potential freedom and security of FOSS is the biggest theorically, it's entirely dependent on a great many factors for either to actually happen, many outside the control of the user entirely, or would require the user to be on the same level of a senior engineer which is an entirely delusional expectation, and the only thing that could make it not the case is every single person who makes a program to make every measure to prevent these issues, which is also unrealistic to expect.

Minecraft is primarily about single threaded clock speed. RAM is actually a much smaller part of the equation, and actually quite strangely the game can sometimes perform *worse* if you give it too much RAM, because it causes Java's garbage collection algorithm to go a little nuts and hit you with stronger lag spikes. I think you *may* be able to circumvent this by throwing so much at it that it doesn't matter. But in general you rarely need very much. Vanilla tends to run best on its default settings which is like, 2 or 3 gigs iirc? Modpacks usually need a little more, depending on what exactly you include in them and how big you go. My rule of thumb is like 4 gigs, but huge packs have pushed it as far as 5 or 6 for me.
VRAM may be a slightly different story. Though it only really comes into play if you're using shaders or certain optimization mods, as the base game is pretty inefficient about utilizing the GPU otherwise. But with VRAM more is pretty much always better. (Though if you have integrated graphics you may have some other quirks to deal with too but I don't have experience with that.)
The only other way RAM can come into play is if you have so little that your other programs are actually starting to run out of memory, which will definitely choke your performance by quite a bit. It can happen pretty easily with 8gigs and even 16 if you're like me and pretty careless with what you leave open (which is why I switched to 32gigs and 12 threads lol). But in either case this can be resolved by just closing them outside of extreme cases though, (ie your computer has less than 4 gigs and minecraft is actually competing with your operating system itself. In which case you can resolve it by switching to a lightweight linux distribution, a computer like that should never be running Windows or Mac)
Okay I've gotta know, how are you running Minecraft with 8GB? I've got 16gb supposedly and I get exactly 2 frames per second.
I know nothing about how computers work so for all I know my computer is lying to me, I just installed minecraft and run it at average settings if I'm honest

(you might know some of this already, but I'm going in detail because it's not often I get to info-dump this to someone)
What linux is:
Linux is a free and open source operating system kernel -in itself it isn't a full Os, it needs other parts; if you want I can explain what a kernel is/does- made by Linus Torvalds in 1991 based on the Minix Os, which was based on the Berkley Software Distribution version of Unix. Although linux isn't a full Os, people will generally refer to any Os that uses the linux kernel as "linux"
Since then it has become a major corner stone of the internet. ~90% of servers online are running some kind of linux. Although online surveys show that only 3-5% of people use linux as a desktop Os.
because linux is free and open source -meaning anyone can download or edit the source code- there are several distributors (or distro's) to download a version of linux, each with different package managers (a place to download new software), desktop environments (which determines what apps you have installed and how your desktop looks), and other stuff. Some linux distro's are based on others and they may have some things in common. For example: all distro's based on Debian use Debian's "apt" package manager.
Because all linux distro's are based on the same kernel (it's not often that distro's mod the kernel for various reasons) most (not all) software is compatible between distro's with a little finagling.
How to install linux:
installing linux may very from computer to computer, and on some computers it is nearly impossible; although in theory anything with 512 mb of ram could run linux. But a lot of these details may be different on your computer, so look into that first.
find a distro you want to use. Some distro's I'd advise staying away from if you are a beginner, like Arch. There are tons of distro's out there so it may seem like a daunting task, but here are a good few recommendations for beginners. Linux Mint is a good place to start, it's basically the beginner distro. it's simple, works with most computers, and suites just about anyone, from long time users to beginners, to shitty little cousins. Pop_OS! is another good one I've seen recommended, I've never used it personally but I've heard good things. For a long time Ubuntu (mint's daddy in a sort of way) was considered one of the best general distro's, but in recent years it has kind of fallen off, but still, it's good to keep in mind as a backup if something goes wrong.
make a bootable usb thumdrive. to do this you have to download the iso of the OS you are going to use and use a flashing software to make the usb bootable. Don't just put the iso on a thumb drive like what I did when I first installed installed linux, make sure you are using a flashing software. Rufus is a good flashing sofware for Windows (assuming that is what you're using). here is a good article on how to make a bootable usb
go into a one time boot/bios. the next thing you need to do is boot your computer from the usb. which can be done by rearranging the boot order in the bios, or running a one time boot on your computer. this is where things start to change depending on your computer. for most computers if you reboot you will see a little screen flash that may have some technical info and say something like "[key] for bios/uefi setup [key] for one-time boot launch." On my computer those keys are f2 and f12 respectively, but it may be different on yours. Some computers *ahem chromebook* may not give you access to the bios or one time boot. Here is a guide on common ways on how to boot into bios/one time boot. although I recommend looking up your laptop model/mother board model for specific details.
boot from the usb. now that you are in the bios/boot utility you need to boot into the usb. when booted into the usb, most distro's will allow you to test how performance is on your computer, test the desktop environment, and make sure you have all your drivers and other things worked out so you have access to wifi and bluetooth and stuff.
run the installer. on the desktop there should be an installer application that you can run, most of them are pretty simple; they will just ask you stuff like usernames, times zones, pre-installed apps, etc. etc. WARNING: installing linux will wipe your drive clean, anything you had will be gone. Make sure you have backups of anything that may be important.
reboot your computer & unplug the usb; after you run the installer linux should be on your computer now
many distro's have installation guides on their websites if you want to follow those.
if you want to install linux on a chromebook it is possible (my first laptop was a chromebook and I installed Solus on it, it was my first distro and a big regret; nothing aginst Solus, I just didn't like it). here are some resousrces if you want to do that: [1] [2] [3]
How to use linux:
one of the big corner stones of linux is the terminal. due to its development history the terminal is the dominate way to interact with your computer. a lot of distro's may have a way to do things with a gui, but you will always have a terminal, so you best be used to it.
this is what a terminal emulator looks like. Terminals are technically a part of the hardware (and can be found under /dev/tty* in linux), but you can access them from the desktop through the emulator.
on the terminal you will be greeted to a command prompt, from here you can type out different commands. when you type a command the shell (the software that the terminal uses to communicate with the OS) will search through the $PATH variable and check every folder it points to, and if the command you type is found then it will run the command with what ever parameters you give.
commands follow a formula: CommandName parameter1 parameter2 ...
some commands wont have any parameters, others will, it all depends on the command. But here are some common commands to help you understand
before you begin, just know that "~" refers to your home folder; directory is just a fancy term for folders (that is due to the history of computers); "." refers to the directory you are currently in, and ".." refers to the directory about you.
ls (list): lists the contents of whatever folder you're in
pwd (print working directory): prints the file path to your fold (ex: /home/uppereepy/Documents)
cd (change directory): lets you change which folder you're in (ex cd ..)
cat (concatenate): concatenates (prints) files to the screen
mv (move): move files to new locations (ex: mv HelloWorld.txt ~/Desktop), can also be used to rename files (ex: mv HelloWorld.txt Hello.txt)
man (manual): if you don't know what a command does then you can use the man command to look up what a command does (ex: man ls).
some advice: you will grow to understand the terminal in time, and although tutorials will help, using the terminal will help you understand things a lot more. manual entries, when you first start, may seem esoteric and hard to read, so just know it is ok to look up what a command does on the internet. learning the C programing language can really help you understand the terminal, and so does reading about the history of computers or using older computers
Resources to get started:
Wikipedia page for linux computer terminals The GNU project (where took off) top 50 commands how to use pipes online manual linux for beginners yt linux for hackers by network chuck (he is a little annoying, but he's how I got started)
and if you want to get into the history of computers I'd suggest looking into The 8-bit Guy on yt and Unix: a History and a Memoir by Brian Kernighan (one of the developers behind Unix and wrote "The C Programming Language")
anyways, that's all I got, I am tired (it is nearly 12:00 am while I am writing this), sorry for the extremely long post
gee i really want to get into linux but idk how to even start.. I wonder if there are any smart transgender women out there who could explain it to me in extreme detail while i bat my eyes at them.....

I've seen a couple people talk about Linux. Is it worth it for someone who basically uses their laptop like an app machine? I play don't starve together, I have firefox, and I write, aaannnnnd that's about it. It slows down sometimes when I'm playing different games but I always thought that was what I get for not having the space, or the desk, for a desktop.
Oh, you are actually the ideal candidate.
If you primarily use your computer for web browsing, media consumption, office work and/or steam games, you are THE target audience for Linux desktop OSes.
The only people who I wouldn't recommend make the jump are people who do very specialized art, like 3D modelling and animation from scratch (blender works on linux but little else in that field), and people who do high end or competitive gaming without the use of steam.
I keep specifying steam, because the steam launcher has a bunch of whateverthefuck going on that makes it basically trivial to run steam supported games on linux. They even provide the setting for it inside the linux version of Steam, called "proton compatibilty layer." Which is very roughly versions of all the files that a game would normally be able to call from the windows OS, only with linux information in this. So there's very little impact on hardware performance.
There can even be improvements in performance because the actual operating system is so lightweight that there are more hardware resources available to the game.
Personally, I find that the thing that is the most improved in terms of response is actually Firefox. On Windows, launchingfirefox always took me upwards of 10 seconds. Once open, it worked like a dream, but for whatever reason Window shated actually opening the program for me.
On linux, it's instant. If there's a loading speed, it's too short for me to notice in the time it takes to move my eyes from the firefox option in the start menu, to the center of the screen where the window actually opens.
Plus, and this is something I LOVE for using linux as an "app machine," the linux software manager actually works. If you've ever use an app store on your phone, a software manager is basically the same function. You isntall programs from it, and then it updates and secures them automatically for you.
Compare that to windows, where most programs need to be downloaded as .exe files from the developer, then installed manually by you, then either you check for updates on the website manually or the program checks automatically whenever it opens, and then you have to download a whole other fucking exe file to run the update.
None of that bullshit.
You install it in the software manager and then any time your computer runs system updates, it will also update all the software.
Fucking magnificent. I live for that shit. In fact, it's such an integral feature and so much better from a use perspective that windows tried to re=create it with the windows store. Only their version sucks ass and has like no fucking useful programs. So then windows users tried to re-create it with a system called Chocolate Software Management For WIndows . And, credit where it is due, if a program has choco support it does work beautifully!
It's just that very few programs do.
Meanwhile, back on linux, they even introduced a feature called flatpacking that allows people who make programs to basically just.... pops it into the software store, so even weird shit like the specific game mod for FFXIV that I personally use has its own software manager entry.
Anyway, okay, TLDR:
You are literally, almost as if divinely crafted, the ideal kind of user for switching to Linux.
I like Linux Mint in XFCE, but many people swear that Ubuntu is the place to start. Which one I recommend to you would come down to whether you prefer the "feel" and "look" of older windows like XP and 7, or MacOS and newer Windows like 11. For the older style, do Mint. For the newer, try Ubuntu.
#I really have just become a Linux Guy haven't I#Linux Mint#XFCE#Ubuntu#Lubuntu#Kubuntu#(Those are different types of Ubuntu)#Linux#God help me#Also to the people reading this and thinking THAT IS NOT WHAT A FLATPAK IS!!!!#or THAT IS NOT HOW CHOCO UPDATER WORKS#Or whatever else#Please understand that I am hypersimplifying because???? NONE OF THAT IS RELEVENT

quick notes about Steam Cookie Clicker! (available now go get it it’s good)
Yes, you can transfer your file from the browser version to Steam (though not from Steam back to browser just yet until I update the browser game too - can’t import from a more recent version!)
At the moment, the Steam version is Windows-only; we're working on Mac and hopefully Linux builds, I'll let you know when they're ready
Game supports local mods (with some sample mods included); we're waiting to get feedback on those before we stabilize the modding API and start allowing Steam Workshop uploads
A question I've seen a bunch - "Does the game have exclusive Steam-only features that justify buying it?" Our design philosophy was that the only features the Steam version gets that the browser one doesn't are things that are only practical through the Steam platform, ie. workshop, cloud saves, Steam achievs etc. (also music - we're very likely not putting that in the browser version anytime soon, that stuff takes up a lot of bandwidth!) Heralds also function differently and are based on current number of Steam players instead of our Patreon subscribers. Outside of that, I'm hoping to keep the Steam and browser version as close as possible gameplay-wise. The browser version will likely lag behind for a bit while I focus on Steam, but after that I'm expecting to release the usual updates on the browser beta first, then browser live + Steam. So to answer whether you should buy it: that's up to you man! We've put a lot of love and polish in the Steam port but the free browser version is staying right where it is and we're thankful for all the players and all the support we get either way.
With the Steam port done, next up is the dungeons minigame - I've had that good productivity juice going and I'm hoping it'll carry me into getting a beta out at some point in the next few months if Steam maintenance doesn't keep me too busy. Wish me luck!

I have come to an unfortunate conclusion:
I need to upgrade my Windows 7 PC to a Windows 10 PC.
I have avoided it for many, many, many years. Mostly because Windows 7 was the last Windows OS that Sims 3 worked on. But I have to face facts, I need to upgrade it for modern usage, and I haven’t played Sims 3 in nearly two years. Windows 7 isn’t even supported anymore, and there is Windows software I need to use these days that, for very good and obvious reasons, just isn’t available for Windows 7.
Mainly, if I want to make a good quality recording of me knitting the Queen Susan shawl, I can’t do it on my laptop. My laptop can barely run Minecraft, and it certainly can’t capture video all that well. I want Queen Susan to be done well. Or, at least, pretty.
So tonight I’m going to upgrade the PC to Windows 10 (this is made easier by the fact that, quite literally, the only thing on it worth backing up is the Sims 3 mod files, it’s been mostly a media PC the entire time and everything else would need to be reinstalled anyway). I’m also, probably within the next month, going to be adding a 1 TB SSD to it because the SSD in it now is a bit on the smaller side, and I want to be able to play some games on it. But that may not happen as it’s not actually that convenient to game on (I would need to get a wireless keyboard and mouse, and that’s a whole different rant).
I have a feeling this is going to make my head hurt. I haven’t done a Windows installation like this in many, many years. All my laptops have been Linux since before Windows 8 was released, and my desktop was built when Windows 7 was still the majority OS and Windows 8 was a giant headache for others.
The desktop is actually still pretty decent spec wise, 8-core processor, 8 GB video card, 32 GB RAM. I built it like a tank to play Sims 3 at full spec back in the day, and to keep working until it needed a full replacement. It just so happens that I don’t game as much anymore, so outside of Minecraft and working as a media PC, I’m happy with it now. Which is great considering my video card, that I bought years ago, is still going for $200USD last I checked. I bought it for that much originally. Tech prices are not coming down any time soon.
#that fateful day when you realize you have to upgrade the beast to a new beast#at least the upgrade to win 10 is free#I have a feeling it's going to be me needing a drink kind of pain in the ass though

T-mobile And Free Spotify
Part 1: The Differences between Spotify Free & Spotify Premium
T-mobile Free Apple Music
T Mobile Free Spotify
T-mobile And Free Spotify Subscription
T-mobile Free Spotify
T-mobile And Spotify Premium
So far, Spotify is the most welcomed streaming music service and it comes with two tiers, which are Spotify Free and Spotify Premium. Spotify Premium provides more features than Spotify Free, but it also requires a subscription fee of $9.99 per month. However, $9.99 could mean a lot to some users or the limitations of free version could be unendurable, so they may search 'get Spotify Premium free' or 'enjoy Spotify Premium for free' or other phrases on Google.
Below is the comparison chart which tell you the 6 differences between Spotify Free and Spotify Premium. The limitations in Spotify Free are forced shuffle play mode, advertisements between tracks, 6 skips in an hour, 160kbps low audio quality, no ability to download for offline listening and no way to enjoy some new or popular songs.
Method 1: Multiple Email Accounts for Spotify Premium 30-Day Free Trial
The first way to get Spotify Premium free is to create multiple email accounts to register new Spotify account, then use the account to try 30-day Premium plan for free provided by Spotify.
Sprint is now part of T-Mobile, creating the best wireless company around with America's largest 5G network. Explore unlimited plans, deals, and join today! The case for T-Mobile Like Spotify, T-Mobile is growing. In the first quarter of 2020, the company added 777,000 postpaid accounts, the highest in the industry.
Before 30-day Premium trial expires, please remember to cancel the subscription to prevent from being charged. You can always create an new email account to create a new Spotify account and try 30-day Premium trial again and again. If you have a domain and a hosting server, you can easily create a batch of email accounts like [email protected] ~ [email protected].
However, after 30-days, you can't keep your favorite songs, albums or playlists when using a new account. Such an inconvenience is very frustrating. And, Spotify may also detect the problem that you keep using the same payment information.
Method 2: Ask Someone to Invite you to Join in Spotify Family Plan
The second way to get Spotify Premium free is to join in Spotify family plan paid by someone else. Apart from Spotify Premium for individuals and students, Spotify also provides family plan at $14.99 per month. With Premium for Family, you and up to 5 members of the same household can each enjoy their own Premium account. If someone has paid for Spotify Premium for family and there is 5 or less people in the group, you can ask the group owner to invite you to join in Spotify Family plan.
You don't have to be a real family member of the group, but make sure your address in the account is same as the group owner. You can ask the group owner to send you his address and postcode in advance. If you have the same address and you are invited, then you have Spotify Premium. Spotify doesn't check anything or ask for a utility bill or check the ip address.
Method 3: Use TutuApp, TweakApp or AppValley to Install Spotify++ on iOS without Jailbreak
If you are using iOS device, you may install a modified version of Spotify called Spotify++. You need to install TatuApp, TweakApp, AppValley or Cydia Impactor first in order to install Spotify++. Here we will show you how to install Spotify++ using each of them. Before install Spotify++, please uninstall Spotify app from your device first. And please note that all the mentioned ways in this section can be easily done without jailbreaking your iOS device.
Use TatuApp to Install Spotify++ and Get Spotify Premium Free
Step 1: Tap to open Safari browser and open TatuApp's home page.
Step 2: When website is open, tap on 'Install now' button and tap 'Install' to confirm when prompted. The website also guide you on how to install TutuApp correctly. At the bottom of the screen, you can also see 'Untrusted enterprise developer' solution tutorial.
Step 3: Go back to home screen and wait a few seconds. After installation, you will see TutuApp's icon on the screen.
Step 4: Tap on TutuApp and open it. 'Untrusted Enterprise Developer' dialog will pop up if it's your first time to open TutuApp. To solve such a problem, go to Settings > General > Device Management on iOS 12, or go to Settings > General > Profiles or Profiles & Device Management on iOS 11, follow the 'Untrusted Enterprise Developer' solution tutorial mentioned above to trust this app.
Step 5: Open TutuApp now and search Spotify++, and click the download button in the search result and install Spotify++.
Once Spotify++ is installed, you can tap on Spotify++ to start enjoying all Spotify Premium features for free.
Use TweakApp or AppValley to Install Spotify++ and Get Spotify Premium Free
TweakApp and AppValley are similar app installers like TutuApp and steps of using them to install Spotify++ are similar to using TutuApp, just go to TweakApp home page or AppValley home page instead. After downloading and installing TweakApp or AppValley, you will also encounter 'Untrusted Enterprise Developer' problem and you can trust TweakApp or AppValley in the same way. Then search Spotify++ in TweakApp or AppValley and install it.
In the same way, you can also enjoy Spotify Premium for free by installing Spotify++ via TweakApp or AppValley.
However, please note that the Spotify++ app is not available to use permanently as Apple can revoke the certificate of the app at any time. When you meet 'Untrusted Enterprise Developer' again, try to download Spotify++ from TutuApp, TweakApp or AppValley and install Spotify++ again.
Method 4: Use Cydia Impactor to Install Modified Spotify App on iPhone or Android
Cydia Impactor is a GUI tool for working with mobile devices. You can use this tool to install IPA files on iOS and APK files on Android using Windows, Mac or Linux. Below are the steps of using Cydia Impactor to install modified version of Spotify on iPhone or Android. Please note that you also need to uninstall official Spotify first.
Step 1: Go to Cydia Impactor home page and download the installer file according to your PC OS. Then upzip the downloaded file, open the folder and you will able to see Cydia Impactor application.
T-mobile Free Apple Music
Step 2: Connect your iPhone or Android device to computer via USB cable.
Step 3: Download modified version of Spotify for iOS or Android from this link. If you are using Android, you need to allow APK installation from unknown sources. Tap Settings and tap Security, you will find an 'Unknown sources' option with a toggle switch under the Device administration section, tap it to enable this option.
Step 4: Launch Cydia Impactor, drag Spotify iOS IPA file or Spotify Android APK file onto Cydia Impactor, and click Start button. If you are using iOS device, you need to enter your Apple ID and password to get Spotify Premium free.
Step 5: Tap the SPotify Premium app to launch. On iOS, you will also meet the problem of untrusted developer and you need to trust the developer manually like what mentioned in method 3. Now you can enjoy Spotify Premium on your iOS and Android for free.
Method 5: Download & Install Modified/Hacked Spotify Premium APK for Android
If you are using Android device, it may be better to use method 5 than method 4 because the modified Spotify premium app provided here is much newer, it was released on July 4, 2018. You may also download this Spotify Premium APK and use Cydia Impactor to have a try. Below are the steps of getting Spotify Premium free on Android devices. Of course, if you have official Spotify installed, please uninstall it first.
Step 1: Download Spotify Premium APK file on your Android device using any browser first.
Step 2: Tap Settings and tap Security, tap on 'Unknown sources' to enable installing hacked/modified APK file.
Step 3: Tap on the downloaded APK file and starting installation.
Step 4: After installation, create a new free Spotify account, sign in Spotify with this account for Spotify Premium features.
However, starting from March 3rd 2018, Spotify has started to crackdown on free Spotify account users who are using modded, hacked, and modified Spotify Premium apk to pirate their premium services. The company has sent out the following email to all those users who are using unauthorized Spotify apps to access their Premium services for free.
The latest Spotify Premium APK file provided here may be unusable one day. You can then search upgraded hacked Spotify Premium APK file again. There are different limitations in the ways of getting Spotify Premium free mentioned above. Maybe using Spotify Music Converter introduced below is the best way.
Use TuneMobie Spotify Music Converter to Convert Spotify Music to MP3/M4A with Spofity Free
TuneMobie Spotify Music Converter can convert Spotify songs, albums and playlists to MP3, M4A, WAV or FLAC format with high audio quality. The ID3 tags like song title, album, artist, artwork, track number, genre, etc. will be preserved in the output files.
By using Spotify Music Converter, you can enjoy most Spotify Premium features. You can play converted Spotify songs in any playback modes, skip as many times as you want, enjoy high quality 320kpbs MP3 or 256kbps M4A, get rid of boring advertisents and listen the songs offline on Spotify supported devices as well as Spotify unsupported devices like iPod Nano, iPod Shuffle, Sony Walkman, MP3 players, etc.
The program is available on Windows and Mac and compatible with latest Windows 10 and Mac OS X. It's also very easy-to-use and helps you to download Spotify music in only a few clicks. The free trial version allows you to convert 3 minutes of each song, besides, we also provide multiple ways for any users to get free license.
Follow the steps below to download your favorite Spotify songs, albums or playlists.
Step 1: Launch Spotify Music Converter and Spotify will be launched automatically. Do not close Spotify when using the program.
Step 2: Click 'Add Files' button then drag and drop songs, albums or playlists from Spotify to Spotify Music Converter. Or you can copy link in Spotify first and paste in the blank area of Spotify Music Converter.
Step 3: Spotify Music Converter will list and check all the songs in the album or playlist. You can easily uncheck any songs you don't like. Then click 'Add' button to add the songs to conversion list.
Step 4: By default, the program uses 320kbps MP3 as output. If necessary, click Options button to change output format & output folder.
T Mobile Free Spotify
Step 5: Now simply click Convert button to start converting the Spotify songs, albums and playlist to all-purpose audio format.
T-mobile And Free Spotify Subscription
Using Spotify Music Converter, you can enjoy 5 of 6 premium features except for enjoying Premium only songs. If you can join a Spotify family plan mentioned in method 2, you will be also able to download the songs which are only available on Spotify Premium.
Now, we have introduced 6 ways of getting Spotify Premium free, which one is best for you? If you think Spotify Music Converter is useful, do not hesitate to download the free trial version to have a try.

what's Wesnoth? I am very interested & would usually do the research myself but I sense that you would be more than happy to gush about it. :)
It’s a free, open-source, turn-based strategy game with a medieval fantasy theme! There are kingdoms and outlaws, wizards and knights, orcs and elves, and so on!
In the typical multiplayer game, you select a “leader” from one of a handful of factions, and recruit units matching your leader’s faction to send out and kill the enemy’s leader (which can either be the computer, or another human player). Combat takes place on a hexmap, chance to hit is determined by terrain, and damage against certain units by elements and weapon types, as well as time of day. You increase the power of your army by leveling up individual units, which advance into new, stronger unit types once they get enough experience points. You recruit new units by collecting gold from villages, villages which you can even steal from the enemy so that their army won’t be able to replenish. I hear people compare the gameplay to Fire Emblem, but I can’t personally say how accurate the comparison is since I’ve never tried that game!
If it sounds complicated, it’s actually easier than that. Most of it is logical stuff (like undead being weakened by daylight, and elves being harder to hit in forests). I was able to grasp the basics and play fairly even as a small child. The game is designed to be easy to learn, but challenging to master. The AI is made to be intelligent, too, preventing player vs. computer situations from getting too easy or boring. It even comes with a tutorial, which I highly recommend trying out before diving in. Even if you don’t beat the tutorial, it still teaches you what you need to know to play the game, and it’s not mandatory, either! There’s no campaigns or factions in Wesnoth that are blocked behind a prerequisite, so you can try any part of it, at any difficulty, in any order.
Speaking of campaigns, they’re basically Wesnoth’s version of “story mode”. In each one you control a different leader, and follow their story through multiple scenarios. Unlike multiplayer mode, campaigns let you “recall” units from previous scenarios, allowing you to build up a powerful, experienced army. Campaigns also may have objectives besides defeating enemy leaders (ex. surviving til the end of turns, or moving a unit to a certain location), so you’ll have to employ different strategies in those situations!
Wesnoth has a modding community that spans worldwide, so there’s tons of add-ons you can install from the official servers if you run out of canon content! There are custom factions, campaigns, maps, and more. Fanmade content is unrestricted by mainline Wesnoth’s canon, so you can see some pretty different stuff out there! Wesnoth’s code is easy to learn if you ever want to become a mod creator yourself– all you need is a text editor and a fair understanding of English!
And if English isn’t your first language? Wesnoth has different translations that you can switch between from the main menu! There’s Spanish, French, Finnish, Swedish, Russian, German, Polish, Hebrew, Japanese, and at least a dozen more. I can’t say how accurate or quality any of them are since I only know English, but they come with the game! Fanmade content doesn’t have translations as often, but the older and more popular mods are more likely to.
The game is solely maintained by its dedicated fanbase. The latest stable version is 1.14.9, which is also available on Steam! However, if you want more mods and are fine with playing an older version, I highly recommend checking out 1.12.6 or 1.10.7, too. Every version of Wesnoth plays about the same; most differences are tiny balancing fixes, cosmetic updates, and streamlining the code and UI.
If you’re wondering what device you can play Wesnoth on, the answer is: most of them! There are official releases of Wesnoth for Windows, Mac, and Linux, all of them free. Wesnoth is sometimes even listed as one of the best games available for Linux computers. There are also versions for iOS and Android, but I haven’t much looked into those since I play exclusively on desktop.
https://www.wesnoth.org
#I've been playing this game since I was 6 years old and I can confidently say even after all that time that it's STILL GOOD#the battle for wesnoth#battle for wesnoth#wesnoth#answers#anonymous ask
