A mysterious stranger a friend encountered while on a road trip!! We were both fascinated by both the brown and black coloring of the darker patches

Upon a first glance, I came to the conclusion of "oh, sunbleached black tortie, high white, easy!" and then looked a little closer... that tail! It seems to be chocolate tabby striping!

so... what's happening here? There are a few possible explanations!

It's a normal black tabby tortie but the light messed w/ the colors

hmm i initially think option 2 but with chocolate base, but i’m interested by how they’ve described the black and chocolate colouring? i’m leaning more towarda the potential of a black minkpoint tortie then!

In one of your posts you said that there were some songs you were gonna animate with some characters either from The Graveyard Shift or idk. Are there any animatics about that topic that you have started?

I have no animatics, but a butt ton of hyperphantasia, so this ask was an opportunity to draw out scenes that haunt my mind every day

For The Graveyard Shift in particular, I have ideas for the following songs (sorta in order from least to most unhinged and including spoilers for future TGS characters)

"Shit" by Bo Burnham

Probably most of Tom Cardy (Perception Check and Hey I Don't Work Here shown here)

"You Didn't Know" from Hazbin Hotel , bc Lute's line didn't need to go that hard but its burned into my memory at this point (also this animatic somehow evolved from its initial concept while working on this ask so now it's Rosemary and Gregory)

"We Don't Talk About Bruno", but Michael Afton is Bruno being talked by every other mascot horror because Sammy's looking for him

"Waiting In The Wings (Reprise)" from Tangled the Animated Series (this is actually the most serious bc it's actual character growth between Mike and Doug)

"Forklift Simulator" by Sbassbear (bc I base Mike's and Ethan's friendship and humor off of Game Grumps interactions)

There's no real genetic difference between tortoiseshell and calico, just that tortoiseshell generally refers to cats who are red and black but have little to no white, and calico generally refers to cats who are red and black but have medium to high white spotting.

This kitty has only a little bit of white, so I'd call her a tortoiseshell!

🍊⚙️ mod, I don't know if you've ever been told this but I love the little statements you leave in the tags occasionally. I really like selfship confession blogs that respond to things(which I completely understand can be a hard thing in general with so many asks, nonetheless ones that can be upsetting and it's not restricted to being just lighthearted confessions), but it's hard for me to find confession blogs that do that. One of the few that I did find that responded to things they didn't even respond, they'd respond with things like "this is irrelevant to the ask but I am so tired today" and it bugged me a little cause like... why respond at all then?? I'm not throwing shade or anything to the blogger, it's just like opening a little goody bag to me to see what you've typed in the tags.

God of War Grian is dangerous and he knows it. He grew afraid of himself, turning himself into the Watchers. He let them deicide things for him, even how people interacted with him. They decided who he was friends with, who he taught, who he learned from, everything. The only people who didn't let him listen were the Evolutionists.

Just before he joins Hermitcraft, he tells Xisuma about this. About his fear, his guilt, about what the Watchers did. Xisuma promises that nothing similar would happen. Hermitcraft is a place for forgetting the past and leading new lives.

Then season 9 starts, and Grian gets sent an accidental message from the admin. An accidently copy-paste of his old admin logs, day-night breaking, mobs being stuck in blocks, that time Ren was trapped in a boat for 3 hours.

The thing that catches his attention is the note of himself:

"Dangerous if angered. Tread carefully, do not make an enemy of."

Grian is so angry it hurts. He confronts Xisuma, so so so angry. He trusted Xisuma with something so personal and deep in his heart— it's something only X knows, barring the Evolutionists.

Xisuma knew and still wrote and sent a note to all the Hermits to not anger him, to placate him. Because he was a danger.

He makes Xisuma's fears a fair thing, because he shouts and fire and electricity zips and spread across his body. They stay on him, dancing on his skin protectively.

He screams and roars and yells at Xisuma for some kind of explanation. Surely he read that wrong, or mistook it to mean something else. Surely Xisuma didn't consider him a monster after everything.

X has no response, just telling Grian to calm down. When he does, Xisuma has no reasoning. No justification.

There is no "sorry, a typo," or "this was for the God Of War, not the person I met." X just apologizes over and over. There was no reason. X knew his fear in how others saw him and wrote that anyways. Xisuma told him about how accepting and forgiving Hermitcraft was, and wrote to all the other Hermits that Grian wasn't a safe person to be around.

He flies far away before he has the chance to hurt someone. The only person who seeks him is Pearl, and she has no excuse for Xisuma. Gem never got the note either, along with Pearl, but she stayed back because she knows that Pearl and him had a deep bond.

Grian is so full of rage and it scares him. Was all of it a lie? Did they let him join so they could have a guardian? Was he ever really a friend, or someone they were polite to because they feared death and destruction otherwise?

He has no idea what to do. He cannot face the hermits. He might kill Xisuma, or himself.

He does not know what to do.

At least he has Pearl, in the end. A sanctuary, a beacon of some kindness that he would (normally) never question. But his doubts are creeping in, now. A past he vowed to leave behind, that he thought he left behind. And what else can Pearl do but hold him in the face of it all?
