Christmas in Hermitcraft, or on any SMP is a little different than what we consider Christmas.

Instead of an old man breaking into your house to give you presents. You have to find the old man and kill him to get your presents.

Grian drives nails into a baseball bat while knitting his Christmas sweater.

Gem sharpens her swords for the occasion as she hums carols.

Doc prepares a rocket launcher and decorates his house.

Scar does some modifications on his off road wheelchair to catch him easier as he finishes a batch of sugar cookies.

Zedaph begins filling syringes with dubious fluids and chemicals while listening to Home Alone.

Mumbo readies a shotgun. That’s it.

Meanwhile, players from the Nether, End, or Aether are just confused about the Overworld’s weird ass customs, but hey, free food and gifts? They’re not complaining.

There's always a competition on who gets to kill the old man first. The winner gets to pick which presents everyone else gets.

You know how SL Scar has a flower motif? And thorns armor?

He has thorns growing out of his skin. It'a painful. They scare people away, but that just means he's untouchable, right? He never asked for this but they make him quite the winner. That's a common theme for him, huh

The longer he goes on through the game, the more thorns sprout under his skin. They rip through soft flesh and organs, and he can feel himself falling apart... but he never dies. He doesn't think he can, anymore.

Impulse technically has two names, His birth name and his player name.

Coming from Hell Impulses birth name is Infernal and rather difficult for players to pronounce so when he came to the over world he chose a name that's easier to pronounce Impulse.

Skizz and Grian are the only two who can pronounce his birth name.

It took years before Impulse realised that there was actually a simple translation of his name for Players, Everyone found this out right before Secret life.

The translation? His birth name is just Scott in Infernal this is how Gem and the Scotts got their name (Yes this whole HC existes becuse I wanted an in universe explination on Gem and the Scotts name)

I see the "only the winners remember the previous games" and I raise you my own personal theory

The longer the players are in the same, the more they remember.

So yes, the winners do remember the most, but others can remember.

Scar and Grian have the most vivid memory of third life, which later influences how they both act in double life.

Pearl and Scott both remember the most as they died at the same time.

Jimmy does not remember the games. Or not in any of his memories. Sure, he had a headache for a few days after (where he would have gotten shot), felt closer to Scott, and he grew fonder of poppies. He's heard about what happened from others. But he doesn't have any memories. Because he died first every. single. time.

Until secret life.

And finally.

He has some memories of it.

Again, they're not great. He died second. But he can remember something.

He's escatic. This is his chance not to feel like an outsider when they talk about the games.

(and if Lizzie was clumsy and allowed herself to fall because Jimmy had confided in her that he felt inferior because he couldn't remember? ...nobody needs to know.)

One of Keralis' many, many strange hobbies is playing bad matchmaker for his fellow hermits based entirely off speculating what their theoretical kids would look like. Highlights (lowlights?) include suggesting that xB and Beef should get together "to see whose beard shape wins", or that False and Tango should get together "to invent a new and blonder shade of blonde".

hermits actually fly about other's bases alot just to check it out and get some inspiration. like a lot. and sometimes they are this 🤏 close to figure out what they wanna do with their build and catch tge motivation before it slips away. but if you, a hermit, are home and see a random mumbo approaching you would guess he'd come to You to talk. and sometimes it's not the case at all and chattering about will make you loose your thoughts and ideas.

soo. to not seem rude, they have a code word, that means "im like this close to actually finishing the project and I went to see your creations for inspiration please don't make me laugh I'd wanna stay and forget what I was thinking for my project. just pretend I'm not here". the code word is "inspo mode". it came about around season 5 but every time a new hermit joins they forget to inform them of it. so picture grian, getting himself mentally ready to talk to a hermit for the first time for them to just stare at his base and yell "inspo mode!!!!!". imagaine pearl standing there building, noticing a certain Keralis guy came about and getting ready for his shenanigans, but in return when she approaches him he flies away with a star struck smile on his face later messaging in the group chat the code

joel literally had to get used to such behavior so quickly and was the first ever newbie to ask in a meeting what it was all about. the hermits collectively face palmed when they realised they forgot to tell the baby hermits about their code word Again.

pearl was once found in tangos redstone and used the code. tango felt more proud of his work this moment then any other moment when someone praised his skills

grian and scar used the code for malicious intent once when they were scooting around docs base

Some combat headcannons! (Note for this: PVP basically refers to declared duels or fights between players, which comes with an implied set of rules. Not all combat falls under PVP, such as fighting mobs and some player combat, like a random attack.):

False is a trained PVP fighter-- A champion. She has a lot of experience and knowledge in PVP. She's also a very balanced fighter. She knows when to take control of the fight and when to hold back and let her opponent come to her. Her greatest weakness is fighting a trickster-- someone who doesn't follow any rules and uses underhanded tactics.

Cub is a strategist. He knows how to break down fights-- almost like a chess game. In turn, he's precise, only using however many moves he needs to win. He studies his opponents too, and tries to know whatever he can before they fight. His greatest weakness is being caught off guard.

Hypno is more of a street fighter. He never fought to win-- he fought to survive. Because of that, there's little honor in his fighting. He's 100% ok with stabbing someone in the back, running away from a fight, and using whatever tricks he can. (Its why he doesn't consider himself a good PVP fighter). Adaptability is his greatest weapon, as he learned how to fight with whatever he could get his hands on. His greatest weakness is being trapped where he can't weasel out and being limited in what he can do.

Gem is self taught. After years of training on her own, she's handy with a blade and wants to increase her skills. She tries to learn something from every fighter she meets, including the other hermits. After learning which hermits could best her, she goes to them and asks them for lessons and advice on how to better her skills, to varying degrees of success.

(False is usually very good about giving advice, but she sometimes finds it hard to explain herself, as she's never taught anyone before. Cub also tries, but their styles are very different, so he mostly teaches combat principles. Hypno gives her the most pushback. He appreciates her admiration, but he doesn't consider himself a fighter, especially not one she should be looking up to. Still, he tries to teach her a little bit about learning to adapt, and has even taught her some tricks that she is definitely NOT allowed to use in PVP.)

Zedaph can and will eat anything and everything.

Tango and Etho once ran an experiment to see what Zedaph would eat. The experiment is still going, with Tango and Etho finding new things for Zedaph to eat everyday.

The food doesn’t seem to be affecting Zed whatsoever, Tango and Etho are baffled.

So far, Zed has eaten:

• The entirety of a 2000 BMW 3-Series Compact E46

• Impulse’s shirt collection

• An end crystal, with the obsidian

• Redstone spaghetti

• Straight feathers

• Sand from the Third Life desert

• Every type of terracotta

• A horse (I guess Zed was hungry)

• Frigidaire 5,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner

• Half of a tree from Bdub’s base

• Half of a tree from Scar’s base

• SANSI 9000 Lumens A21 LED Light Bulb, Super Bright 600W Equiv. E26 Light Bulb with Wide 270° Beam Angle, 5000K Daylight Non-Dimmable Safe 60W Bulb

Impulse has taken tons of precautions to keep his shirts safe. Tons of Hermits like taking his shirts.

For example:

Impulse made his shirts fireproof to prevent Tango and Scar from lighting them on fire as a joke. (A personal headcanon of mine is Impy doesn’t take damage from fire, but it still scares him)

Impulse has sprayed most of his shirts with a moth repellant to prevent Hermits like Pearl from eating his shirts. (Surprisingly also works on Zedaph; Zed no longer eats Impulse’s shirts)

Impulse integrated trackers into his shirts, because Hermits like Grian would just take his shirts and leave them somewhere. (Grian do be like that lol)
