When the village learns Moana and Maui haven't defeated Nalo yet, that doesn't stop them from throwing a party. Maui is more excited than ever as he can't wait to finally dance with Moana. Start from chapter 1 or… Read chapter 11 on AO3 here.

Moana felt like she could breathe again as they arrived at Motunui’s shores. She’d missed home and it was a relief to see all was as they’d left it. While the fishermen waved at her, a crowd began to gather on the beach, cheering and delighted to see that Moana and Maui, their heroes, had returned! They hadn’t yet made it to shore when they already heard victorious drumming and thrilled exclamations and cheehoo-ing among her people. Delighted, Maui was waving back at folks, saluting them and putting on a big smile, oblivious to what was really going on. Suddenly, Moana came to a chilling conclusion, and she put her hand on Maui’s arm for a second to draw his attention. “They think we’ve defeated Nalo…” For a moment, his expression wavered. “Oh…” “Just act normal,” she told him, looking away from him as she turned to her people and waved at them too, and Maui nodded as he jumped into the water to pull the canoe further ashore. A crowd was already waiting around their boat, but Chief Tui still pushed his way through, delighted to see them return. “Did you do it?” he asked eagerly. “Did you defeat Nalo?” Moana’s awkward smile betrayed her answer. “Yeah… about that…”

Sooo just got back from Moana 2, I genuinely really enjoyed it!! It definitely wasn't as good as the 1st one (most of her crew characters were annoying/distracting). The music kept pulling lines/themes from the 1st movie which I actually really liked but a couple of them fell flat for me. But oooohhh my dear MoanaxMaui heart was fed with this one their scenes were so magnetic and pulled me right back into loving their dynamic. "Beyond" is very much stuck in my head now 🤪

I'm watching Moana again for the first time in months since I saw it in theaters, and I completely forgot how amazing the banter between Moana and Maui is

Moana role players wanted

I'm looking for people who will do a moana roleplay with me. Preferably a hooked wayfinders roleplay (moanaXmaui) go ahead and messege me on the private chat if interested.

You have earned my respect, @thattheaternerdoverthere​ . I know people are HEAVILY divided on this particular subject and they all have understandable reasons (especially if they are personal), but I respect those who don’t act like fools and show far more maturity over this whole mess.

I recall when MoanaxMaui was a thing, but ALL the shippers preferred her as an adult. Few to none of the antis gave the shippers grief over making her an adult here on tumblr. Same for those who ship adult Sarah and Jareth from Labyrinth together. They all understood that these are characters that are allowed to grow up and that those pairings AREN’T intended to be one hundred percent canon (ESPECIALLY in my first example and I like that Moana is the first ‘official’ Disney princess to not have even so much as a future potential love interest). I kind of wish that were the case in the Beetlejuice fandom. 

I understand why people don’t like ‘may-december’ romances, but they shouldn’t send death threats. It’s like when people were being toxic towards that one girl who drew skinny versions of Rose Quartz from Steven Universe (to the point of telling her she should kill herself and BOY  can I imagine how hard that would come back to haunt them after a certain reveal on the show) or that story where a crazed Voltron fan threatened to release secret images unless they made their favorite ship canon. I’m not saying the randoms for both are completely toxic–it’s just there are better ways to respond to things that upset us sometimes.

Adding to that, while I don’t view beetlebabes as canon in all three adaptions (ESPECIALLY in the original film), I am happy that in at least two of them, Beetlejuice and Lydia are able to be good friends and that their friendship is genuinely adorable to watch (with ‘That Beautiful Sound’ being my favorite of the songs from the musical). 

Of course, this is also one war that I have no interest in being a part in. So thank you for being mature about your opinions.

Do i ship beetlebabes? No. Do I feel the need to harass the people who do over a fictional ship that may not be appealing to me? NOPE. Do I hate people who ship it? No not at all some of them are pretty cool (and really good artists too!!). Let the shippers do their thing you don’t have to interact with them but they are still people who shouldn’t be harassed for having a different opinion AND THAT my friends is the real tea

It felt like he was falling forever, making the jump down to Lalotai seem short in comparison, but when he spotted a small light at the bottom getting bigger, it took him a few moments before he realized it was Moana’s oar and tattoo, glowing golden.  “Maui!” she shouted, and he shouted back her name, just before he landed on one knee and his knuckles, his tattoos glowing as he’d prepared for a bit of damage.  There was no light where they were at all, and all they had were their glowing weapons and tattoos, and Moana was fast to approach him and take his hand, trying to find her bearing as they both moved their weapons through the air so the light could illuminate their surroundings, trying to figure out where they were or where they were supposed to go to. “Why is it so dark here?” she wondered, seeing rocky walls shimmer in the light of her oar nearby, so dark they were hardly visible to her eyes at all. “Is this the void?” “No.” He let the light of his hook and tattoos dim completely, and Moana squeezed his hand a little tighter because of it.  “What are you doing?”  “Having a little faith. Let your light dim too.”  She obeyed him. After all, he had three thousand years of experience in all sorts of places. If anyone could lead them out of here, it was him.

//But seriously, I for one do not pair MoanaxMaui. I mean, it’s not really clear they both could be a romantic couple in my eyes ^^; I see them more as fries or just being funny jerks to each other xD

the ship makes me uncomfortable, but the shippers are allowed to ship it as long as moana is of age consent.
