Unicorn horns are a set of single tine, spiraling antlers that grow from two buds in the middle of the forehead. Every year until maturity, the horn is shed and a new one grows in its place, so even a broken horn will be renewed.

And when she does, you have to watch her try year after year to grow something that can harness the magic she knows she has in her. But every time it grows back, it's more twisted than the last. And her heart twists alongside it.

September prompt in the MLP server was 'Change'. I didn't finish this month's piece so it's just a somewhat refined sketch concept.

The idea behind it was to show Tempest in her new armor, possibly the first time she's wearing it, and observing herself in the mirror. Next to her is her old armor. I really like the thought of Tempest working for Twilight - hence a recurring star motif.

I gasped out loud when I saw her appear on screen for the first time, having a unicorn with a broken horn is such a cool thing to see in MLP (aside from the fact that how it happened feels a little, out of place and insubstantial for her character). I wish we got to see more of her in the show 🥺🥺
