大畑駅前の鳥居を潜り、急な坂道を登って行きます。

拝殿は、戸が開け放たれ、がらんとした板張りの部屋が広がっているのみだったので、写真撮りそびれました。

賽銭箱の隣におみくじが置いてあり、お賽銭と合わせ、おみくじ代を賽銭箱へ。

参拝後、おみくじを広げると何と大吉でした！！　夫は小吉。

でも、年末に引いたおみくじっていったいどうなんでしょう？

拝殿の裏手に廻ると素晴らしい景色が広がっていました。

This is Miyajidake-jinja Shrine, famous for the awesome phenomenon called "Road of Light" . Twice a year , the sun goes down straight ahead of these Shrine gates, and a band of golden light appears on the path stretching from the sea . Witness the magnificence at the Sunset festival held in mid February and mid October.

福岡の初詣は三社参り

The year's first visit to the shrine, peoples visit 3 shrines in Fukuoka.

福岡には、お正月の初詣に三つの神社に詣でる風習がある。三社参りといって福岡人は特に深く考えることは無いんだけれど、これって福岡以外ではあまり見られない習慣なんですよね。まあ福岡でも田舎では、地域の氏神様一社に詣でるのが一般的でしょうから、福岡人でもどれ程の人が実践してるのかわかりませんが。なぜ福岡だけに広く根付いたかと言えば、昔に（今もだけど）西鉄などの鉄道会社が行った集客キャンペーンが事の起こりとも言われてます。一般的なコースは、「宮地嶽神社（ Miyajidake jinja ）」「筥崎宮（ Hakozaki gu ）」「太宰府天満宮（ Dazaifu tenmangu ）」の3つの神社が出てきます。ただし、宮地嶽神社へは今は西鉄電車では行けません。（路線が廃止になりました。）

さて、福岡市内は交通量も少なく静かなんですが、逆に車で近づきたくないのが太宰府天満宮はじめ、大きな神社仏閣の周辺です。地域住民は狭い路地を駆使して凌ぐんでしょうが、それでも渋滞のひどさには辟易だそうです。まさに、桑原、桑原。
