Two weeks ago I was inspired to draw the Seven Dwarfs after a decade and today I finally finished it.

The names I've used here are what's left from my attempt to revive Tales of Grimwood, which I had planned several years back. Never finished the project and pretty much all the art from it is gone. So I just scrapped together a bunch of concepts and came up with this, and tbh I like it way more than whatever the hell I originally had planned.

Anyway I'll probably draw these dudes again. The Seven Dwarfs have a special place in my heart because I was very fixated on them for a while and they helped me exercise my creative skills.

Here's a first look at a redesigned Wandering Cryptids band woop woop! Included are the bois' face claims.

I'm just gonna come out and say it; I'm doing a soft reboot of the Wandering Cryptids series. I'm just not happy with how the story is going, and my influences/ideas have changed since I started this project three years ago. I've also been extremely slow at working on the damn comic, like I can't believe I've been doing it for two years, yet I only have four episodes done. (Episode four's not even finished lol)

So, since I'm adopting this attitude of "Fuck it, We Ball" for the new year, I'm gonna do what I really want and give the Cryptids a soft reboot. I'm gonna take some time to do some rewrites for the chapters, fix the timeline and write proper scripts for each episode. It's time I take this more seriously and plan things better than fly by the seat of my pants like I normally do.

Anyway, I'll work on a new lineup and story stuff soon, so for now I'll leave you with a revised playlist for the band:

God you're so right about how horror is suppose to make folks uncomfortable and people rejecting that. Like I understand that not everyone can handle really heavy stuff, (I can't watch Cannibal Holocaust it's too much for me) but just because it's uncomfortable it doesn't mean it shouldn't exist. Fetishizing dark topics obviously is an issue but having dark topics in a piece of media shouldn't be seen as "problematic" on its own.

for sure !! im obviously asking no one to step across their comfort zone when I say all of this . for example, im a traumatized person who is personally very sensitive to mishandling of native racism; its why I cant really watch many cowboy movies . it's my own limit . but like some people have said in my tags, recoiling is a worse response then actually being able to critically analyze Why th handling of some themes are bad, how it could have been done better, and what the intent vs. final product was . in th case of cannibal holocaust, it falls on it's ass more then it succeeds, regardless of ruggero deadado's intended points against racism & exploitation, funnily enough . he really was trying to go for something more then you'd believe in contrast with the type of culture & mysticism that spawned around it [curse annoying ""disturbing movies!1!!!!1!" dudebros & completely missing th point just so they can jerk themselves off for watching it for all th wrong "how much can you handle" reasons] . but his message gets completely lost in th source, and never fully feels like it follows through, especially with the addition of how many false rumors that exist around that film that swamp it's reputation, unfortunately . and even if I do believe it has some merits to it, it's a tough watch regardless, you're not wrong at all . but that being said; movies like that, and other video nasties and similarly banned movies, are still a part of film history, and worthy of having their impact analyzed, studied, and picked apart just like any other . it's better to be able to identify why a movie makes you uncomfortable vs. demanding movies like that to never exist, regardless of how they handle their themes & messages

I kinda feel like people are overreacting a little with these records? Like yes, it's definitely a cash grab and it's clearly just filler...But so many bands do this? It's just a stupid marketing thing, not some morally ambiguous situation. Am I misinterpreting all of this?

That was my point to the whole thing. Idk if people think that I believe it’s something different or what but my whole point of these posts were about people’s overreactions. It hasn’t been too bad on tumblr, but it’s been bad on tiktok so I was talking generally

(Tumblr is acting weird so I'm sorry if I'm sending this twice) Since you've been listening to some Zeppelin, do you have any songs you'd consider to be a favorite? Right now their song Rock and Roll is my favorite.

Okay so I actually haven’t listened to very many of their songs but I do really enjoy Dazed and Confused (I know it’s basic but I’m still new to listening to them lol) but I do own their first album on vinyl!!! So I’ll be listening to that
