I'm curious if you've seen Booboo Stewart as Max in the new Grinch Musical by NBC. It's um...Really bizarre, in my opinion...What do you think?

i agree with you tbh like i definitely think it was bizarre because we never really expected that to happen?? truth be told, when i heard that booboo was going to be in a musical, i was super ECSTATIC because we saw him be the cutest little villain on descendants and then we saw him rock out (though we didn’t hear him sing much) in american satan so i was excited to see more of him just being able to show the world more of his singing. what i didn’t expect was to see him in a freaking dog costume that looked straight out of a parody ?????? i mean okay LISTEN we all know booboo’s such a creative man. he has many, many, many outlets to show his artistic expression but as soon as i saw the costume and the makeup, i was literally thinking that it was some kind of joke. i watched the musical and i came to love his character and everyone can say he’s so incredibly TALENTED from the jump (like those expressions ???? he was OWNING that character and everyone can see it) but..... i was literally cringing the entire time. i’m proud of him, especially because it seems like it was kind of out of his comfort zone, but i’m not rewatching that musical ever again fjdndjndkdndjd

Why do people hate the Hackle Ship so much? I get it's not everyone's cup of tea, but what's with the hate?

I personally think the person(s) that send the same annoying messages to the same people are just hateful and have nothing better to do. That's the only reason I can think of for someone to go through content they dislike so much and visit blogs on a regular basis that they hate, and from what I've noticed they're going for a lot of content creators so I feel like they are just trying to wear people down. I say that because I haven't received any hackle hate after I blew up and made a post about how I'd specifically make hackle consent because of them and it'd be there fault that there was so much more of it. Lol

A Saved By The Bell reboot? Ugh. The whole point in the enjoyment of the original show is because of how ridiculously 80s it is. Without that, it'd just be another school sitcom. At least with The Facts of Life or the Golden Girls, that could be rebooted because they were unique.(I wouldn't want Golden Girls rebooted necessarily, I was just using it as an example)

I mean, to be totally transparent, *my* biggest problem is the show is unrecognizable. I wanted classic sitcom camera angles and the classic set. (Fuller House and The Conners delivered that.) But even if I got what I wanted and it was as cheesy as it was back then, I think we’ve culturally outgrown moralistic after school special sitcoms. Preteens are watching Riverdale and Stranger Things now. lol Times have changed, and I’ll be shocked if it’s received well.

I'm sorry to ask this completely random question, but it's been bugging me all day. I remember a few years ago some sort of controversy over a Netflix show. I think it was a show about teens growing up in the 90s, and one of the characters was a teen girl exploring her sexuality. People got really upset though because the girl she was dating was being played by an actress who was actually older than her. Was this a real thing? Did this actually happen? Don't remember the name of the show.

I'm not here to criticize you, but I want to give you advice: Don't make comics for other people. If you want to make comics of your original stories, then make them! All artists start out with that fear that no one would be interested, but at some point you gotta throw caution to the wind and make whatever YOU want to see. You'll certainly attract people, as most artists do, but make your comics because they make you happy. :)

okay i can’t choose just one, so pls enjoy a list of some of my fave jo x blair moments!

in another room when jo couldn’t afford to live in the house anymore so she chose to sell her motorcycle (her BABY) just so she could keep living with her fam and then BLAIR overheard and gave jo the bed next to the window and didn’t tell her why but jo knEW bc she knows blair and gODaldjkfh i love them

in out of the fire, when blair’s mr. frog is destroyed by the fire and jo surprises her with a new one (that was probs super hard to find??? like she brushes it off and is like ‘they’ve got hundreds of em at paymart!’ but when u think about it, blair’s had mr. frog for yeARS so it’s unlikely it would be a popular toy at the current time of the ep so jo actually had to go to like six different stores to find him and that is my headcanon so it’s actual canon thank u!)

in magnificent obsession, when blair is trying to break free from her unhealthy relationship and jo stays up with her and helps her

in ain’t miss beholden, when jo’s scholarship is taken away due to budget cuts, she doesn’t wanna apply for the warner textile scholarship bc she doesn’t want blair’s money!! but mrs. g is like ‘yo jo, that money is good money and it’s not actually blair’s money, ur just being dumb and prideful’ so then later mrs. g announces that jo won the scholarship and jo’s like ‘heLL YEAH thanks mrs. g!!’ bc she thinks mrs. g applied for her, but mrs. g is like ‘don’t thank me, thank blair’ and jo is like ?????? and it turns out BLAIR applied for jo bc ‘[she] didn’t want [jo] to go’ and damn that scene *kisses fingers like a chef*

in cruisin’, there’s them singing to each other of course, and then my favorite moment is this

in the rich aren’t different when blair uses a watch as a symbol for herself in her relationship with jo and takes her to court and essentially tells her that she doesn’t give a shit about what other people think of her but she does care when it’s jo!!

in the christmas show when, instead of going skiing, or going to fancy parties for the holidays, blair chooses to stay in peekskill with jo and they share ~a moment~

in christmas in the big house, blair is being a brat bc she doesn’t wanna perform for men in prison and jo is like “hey bitch! my dad was in prison! he said his favorite xmas song while he was in there was ‘i’ll be home for christmas’ so then they go to the prison and all the girls perform except for blair, but at the last minute, they need an encore, so blair is like ‘i’ll do it’ surprising everyone and she goes up there and starts to sing ‘i’ll be home for christmas’ a capella and partway through the piano comes in and it’s jo and she gives her this smilE AND GOD so good

in the last drive-in, pm everything??? this ep is essentially jo and blair going on a date, and it’s amazing

in rites of passage (part 1) when jo is told she can’t give her speech at graduation bc the college ppl didn’t like it, blair is asked to give the speech instead, and jo tells her to give a speech she believes in so she does, and instead of giving a different speech, she delivers the speech jo was going to give and she fully credits her and jo is like “that’s my speech!” and :’)))))

in less than perfect when jo is the only one blair is truly vulnerable with after her accident, revealing her wound and also revealing big reasons why she is who she is and wow what an ep (like casey sees it at the end i think but he’s essentially made to be a boy version of jo so *shrug*) okay but also, jo sneaks back to the hospital after all of them had left in order to see blair (after visiting hours can u believe!!)

in down and out in malibu (part 1) when jo calls blair for $$$, instead of wiring it to her, she flies from new york to california (the same day!!) and goes to give the money to her in person so like u know she had to have left like right after the phone call, and it’s like she missed her so much she flew all the way to california without any preparation and that’s love baby!! like i bet after that phone call, she called the warner private jet and was like “we’re going to cali! see u in five!”

in the apartment when natalie and tootie move out and jo and blair essentially get to live out their lives as the old married couple they are!!

in new york, new york when they realize they actually like/respect each other 

in this is only a test, when jo helps blair cram for her lsat

in i’m dancing as fast as i can, when jo gets oddly invested in blair’s relationship with cliff

in big fish/little fish when jo encourages blair to be herself and blair then uses jo as her puppet for her ventriloquism act

in dear apple when a computer tells jo it’s probs better if she stops being friends with blair and jo throws that computer’s advice in the trash!        

in jazzbeau when jo and blair are two old marrieds off on their summer holiday in the catskills

AHHHHH Hey all my brilliant new followers! <3 Thanks for jumping on the Midge/Susie boat, it is tiny but it is awesome.

In celebration have a Midge/Susie snippet prompted by @asthedaysgobythesun for “back of hand kisses”

“You did it, doll!”

Soon as the door closed behind them, Susie gave Midge an enthusiastic clap on the back. If she let her hand linger a second too long, well. It was a night for celebrations, indulgences. And if Midge’s next show went anything like that performance, it would be far from the last. 

“Did you see them at the end there?” Midge spreads her hands, eyes light up brighter than June fireflies. 

“I think I’ve really got it, just imagine–” Midge twirls a little, skirt flaring up. “Booked up solid for months, people coming up to me in the streets, when I walk in the door and they know my name, oh Susie.” 

With a last sashay, Midge bounces in front of Susie, grabs her hands in her own and wait. Susie stiffens, staring helplessly up at Midge. What is she doing? 

“This is all,” Midge’s face softens, intent, “because of you. I’m only here, on this stage, because of you.” 

“Please,” Susie can’t look away, can’t move, and Midge still has her hands clasped tight, “’S all you, doll. Knew you were something special.”

Midge quirks her lips, looking for all the world like there’s something caught hesitant behind her lips but she’s silent. They stare at each other, something gossamer and fragile strung in the space between them. But then Midge turns her head, presses a quick shy kiss to the back of Susie’s hand and lets her go. 

“Well then,” she tilts her head, beams, “Guess we make a damn good team.”

I find that a lot of LBGT+ movies are either predicable, poorly written or boring. (At least, that's my opinion. I honestly haven't seen THAT many) Are there any out there that you consider to be interesting?

That depends. I hear what you’re saying but gay movies are on a whole other scale that requires the consideration of like…suffering & fun as major factors. Case in point, DEBS. Trashy, trashy spy movie that we as a community love ONLY because it’s fun and gay. On the other hand, I haven’t felt compelled to rewatch Carol or The Handmaiden a second time and I Know those movies were good. It’s not even because they’re serious movies either because I’ve enjoyed Moonlight every time I’ve watched it. Typical movie logic doesn’t apply to gay movies so you can’t fault them for corny dialogue without considering this movie has gone 27 minutes without making you sad.

So anyway. To answer your question, some wlw films in particular I’ve watched excessively/find most interesting are:

Desert Hearts

The Children’s Hour (whaaat? tragic but it’s Audrey yk?)

Saving Face

Young Man with a Horn (Code era homophobia but I thrive on subtext and Lauren Bacall)

Kyss Mig (kinda slow but holy chemistry batman)

I Can’t Think Straight (like, again, debatable because it’s not Great but it’s light and sometimes you need that)

Imagine Me & You (OUR ONE TRUE ROMCOM so I don’t care if it’s gotten more attention than it “”””deserves”””””)

Honorary mention: Lost and Delirious. If I didn’t hate it so much, I’d love it.

if it weren’t for merritt being in it, i honestly would never watch it. not that it doesn’t look good, it’s just not the kind of show i watch.
