Mischa is frozen in time, trapped as a memory of a murdered child. Hannibal survived and grew older, but part of him feels trapped, too. to remember her means reliving the feeling of being a helpless child, powerless to save the one person he cared about. and as an adult, decades and thousands of miles away, he could never really outgrow that memory. even to remember her fondly meant remembering her end soon after. Because even as an adult, there was probably nothing he could do, he can't protect someone indefinitely. Growing up and getting power and strength would still not be enough. All he wanted was to protect her and keep her safe, but he needed protection, too. neither of them could be protected. He wasn’t taught how to protect her, not was he taught how to grieve or mourn or cope, so he did what he could to survive. To keep her close by eating her, keeping her within and shielding her from the world the only way a small child could. Using himself as a barrier between someone so fragile and a world wanting to hurt her; left with nothing except a memory, an ache in his heart, and remnant taste on his tongue.

This isn't a request, more of a question (but if you want to write something with this, I'm not complaining :>), but how would the choir react with Penny being bullied (like, more than she already is, I just KNOW a bully is going to lose his life today)

Also, how would they react about her whole past you know, IDK if they even know, but what if they discover about her bipolar and her suicidal and depressed behavior? (I think she was diagnosed with it, right? I don't remember much of Legoland-)

I'm glad I could write that for you, thanks for requesting it! I literally love Penny so much, not to mention I am a huge multi-shipper, so it was a joy to write.

As for how the choir would react to Penny being bullied, I can definitely say their actions to "fix" the problem would vary, but they would all be very upset to learn she is being hurt in any form. I think Ricky, Ocean, and Constance would try to take the more pacifist route, with Noel and Mischa being the opposite.

Ocean would be incredibly pissed but also kind of impressed (in a way that she didn't think anyone would actually attempt to go there). She would use her status as the top student to get them expelled or, if she can, she would probably make them do some kind of community service hours where she could watch and belittle them the whole time.

Ricky, being one of the few disabled kids in St. Cassian, is unfortunately babied by most of the staff. He of course hates this but this is the one situation where this comes in handy, as he can easily just go up to some member of staff and say that the aforementioned bullies and messing with him, thus getting them into some serious trouble with staff and parents alike since they're "bullying" a disabled student.

Constance doesn't have much power within the school unlike Ocean and Ricky, but if there's one thing people in that school know her for, it's for being kind. It really isn't hard for her to slip a few bad words here and there about the bullies and have their reputation drop substantially. She would also use this opportunity to put in a good word for Penny and at least stop some of the rumors.

Noel wants to say he is a calm and collected person, he really does, but watching those bullies spew such hateful words to the one person he cares about makes his blood absolutely boil. He himself has had his fair share of bullying and even if he knows he can tolerate it, he will not tolerate Penny. It might take a while, but he is going to make sure that bully feels like the actual scum of the Earth and that the only reason such trash like them are still walking around is because people don't want to get their hands dirty. Noel will push them so hard that they are gonna do some things to themselves they will definitely regret...

Mischa, against all odds, manages to not bash the bully's faces into the pavement the minute he hears that they are even mildly upsetting Penny. But trust him, the moment he finds them (and he will), he is going hurt them so badly that they'll be unrecognizable the next time they walk into school (if they somehow don't end up in the hospital after that-)

Okay, so I have actually never watched Legoland, nor do I know much about it because I can literally not find it anywhere. :') So, I'm sorry if any information about Penny's past is inaccurate.

I can say that the choir though all pretty much have the same reactions regarding her past, that reaction being a mix of both anger and sympathy. Although, Ocean by far can understand Penny's struggles with drugs and the like considering her own parents, and Mischa can also understand being away from your actual family. Both are very empathic about her situation and being able to relate to her in their traumas really brings them closer to her.

Noel has never been more glad to be considered a brother figure to Penny ever since hearing of her childhood since at least now she has one family member who she wants to be around by her side (minus Ezra). Constance feels so awful that she was keeping that in for so long and that Penny had to go through that in the first place, it just makes her so frustrated that her parents were that irresponsible. All she wants to do is be able to take away that hurt, but she knows she can't, so instead she just tries her best to make new memories with Penny. Ricky would have never guessed in a million years that Penny had to deal with... well all of what was her childhood. He can't say he feels anything other than sympathetic for her having to deal with that stuff, but he is a very live-in-the-moment person and plans to just make her forget all of that with him.

Let's just say though, that if any of them happen to meet her parents, no matter how pacifistic they are, they will have some choice words and actions they want to say/do to them.

he for sure cries SO HARD at movies like its unreal. as soon as any movie gets even remotely sad, hes clutching onto the nearest person and holding back tears while his whole face scrunches from him trying to hold back his sobs {inspired by me watching puss in boots 2. that movie would also DESTROY him}

that being said mischas love language is physical touch!! he could not stand his time away from talia where he couldn't hold or kiss her and he loves to be Right next to noel and do his own thing {this is primarily derived from how much he caresses the face of talia's projection, him hugging noel for comfort, his relief when noel leaned against him, etc.!!!!!}

LOVES pickup lines. he looks them up on his phone all the time. he tries to personalize them between noel and talia not just through language but thru their interests and he has never failed to fluster either thru them (despite their TERRIBLE quality). its kind of a shock that he managed to fluster them tho, with how much be always messes up their wording out of nervousness (any comeback will leave him forgetting what he was going to say and immediately lagging)

had to teach himself how to use chopsticks in case he ever "desperately needed to use them." he ends up holding them in the most fucked up way imaginable. it is a WONDER he can pick up food without breaking his fingers with that form honestly

cried with excitement when he hit 100 subs on his yt raps . like omg he finally felt accepted and felt like he had made a huge name for himself w this huge achievement and when he hit 1k he FREAKED OUT and made a thank you rap (such a dork)

experienced severe culture shock upon entering canadian catholic school; he went to an insanely strict russian orthodox academy back in ukraine. noel offered to skip together to go get food and mischa was like ??Huh? Are you insane (hc courtesy of sight)

the realization that he could do basically anything without being completely fucked over contributed to his title as a troublemaker; he acted out and had fun to the resentment of the headmaster (which only made him angrier and led him to acting out further and further, trapped in a cycle) (hc also courtesy of sight)

his mother taught him how to cook so many ukrainian foods before she sent him away to canada in order to prepare him for his life; every time he cooked for himself he had to hold back his emotions because all he could think of was his life with his mom and how much better things were without his new life in canada

that being said, whenever his "parents" kick him out or he just can't stand being in the same area as them, his first call is noel (to the worry and concern of noel and the absolute delight of noels mother)(she LOVES him). noel calms him down with hugs and indulges him with poetry to ground mischa

in ukraine, he struggled to realize more about his sense of self, sexuality, needs, etc. because of social stigmas; it took him a new life in canada and a long time to accept the side of him that loved boys and he still struggled to handle the weight of it by the time of his death

mischa believed in god as a child-- not so much anymore . as a kid he was terrified of sinning and always wondered about the assertion that "everything happens for a reason," always wondering what he was repenting for as his mother got sicker and his father remained absent. by the time he moved to canada and experienced the falseness of a canadian catholic school, he figured that not even the cruelest of entities would put him through what was happening. he could no longer find comfort or curiosity in the belief of a god, only disgust and a sense of selfishness.

monday, september 14 was going to be a good day. a day off from school, a day to just have fun and let loose at a fairground. noel wanted a stuffed toy really badly, mischa did everything in his power to get it for him. mischa did everything to indulge him, even kissing him at the top of the ferris wheel; it made noel happy so it made mischa happy. he had no internet, so he promised to text talia when he got back to his house. as the cyclone reached the apex of its loop, and mischa heard a sound, all he could do was pray to a god he no longer loved and prepare to meet him thats all i got for now thanx for reading love u!!!!!!!!!!

So get this. In the musical ride the cyclone, the representation of physical disability in Ricky Potts character was already pretty horrible. Because he loses it as soon as he enters the afterlife even though it’s such a vital part of his character. And it’s literally just for the ease of making him “better” to choreograph with. To this day, there has only been one person who is disabled in real life that has played this character, and they were treated horribly, not at all accommodated, not even told the character was written to have a disability, to the point where they were physically ill on set. They were then fired for being too disabled. To this day, the theatre blocks any attempts to speak out about the incident and refuses to even admit that it happened. The actor has received absolutely no compensation. Well now the official writers of the show have consented to the disability being removed entirely. Erased. Gone. What little representation was there was garbage anyway, but when I tell you I wouldn’t hesitate to deck the people responsible for this. OH and by the way, anyone who does the show now has to use that version of the script
