IJSIJDOIJFIAR YOU DID THE YANDERE CHOIR X PENNY! I LOVE U- /silly
I have been with them struck in my head for weeks, I appreciate for doing this!
This isn't a request, more of a question (but if you want to write something with this, I'm not complaining :>), but how would the choir react with Penny being bullied (like, more than she already is, I just KNOW a bully is going to lose his life today)
Also, how would they react about her whole past you know, IDK if they even know, but what if they discover about her bipolar and her suicidal and depressed behavior? (I think she was diagnosed with it, right? I don't remember much of Legoland-)
I'm glad I could write that for you, thanks for requesting it! I literally love Penny so much, not to mention I am a huge multi-shipper, so it was a joy to write.
⚠️WARNING: General yandere content!⚠️
As for how the choir would react to Penny being bullied, I can definitely say their actions to "fix" the problem would vary, but they would all be very upset to learn she is being hurt in any form. I think Ricky, Ocean, and Constance would try to take the more pacifist route, with Noel and Mischa being the opposite.
Ocean would be incredibly pissed but also kind of impressed (in a way that she didn't think anyone would actually attempt to go there). She would use her status as the top student to get them expelled or, if she can, she would probably make them do some kind of community service hours where she could watch and belittle them the whole time.
Ricky, being one of the few disabled kids in St. Cassian, is unfortunately babied by most of the staff. He of course hates this but this is the one situation where this comes in handy, as he can easily just go up to some member of staff and say that the aforementioned bullies are messing with him, thus getting them into some serious trouble with staff and parents alike since they're "bullying" a disabled student.
Constance doesn't have much power within the school unlike Ocean and Ricky, but if there's one thing people in that school know her for, it's for being kind. It really isn't hard for her to slip a few bad words here and there about the bullies and have their reputation drop substantially. She would also use this opportunity to put in a good word for Penny and at least stop some of the rumors.
Noel wants to say he is a calm and collected person, he really does, but watching those bullies spew such hateful words to the one person he cares about makes his blood absolutely boil. He himself has had his fair share of bullying and even if he knows he can tolerate it, he will not tolerate it for Penny. It might take a while, but he is going to make sure that bully feels like the actual scum of the Earth and that the only reason such trash like them are still walking around is because people don't want to get their hands dirty. Noel will push them so hard that they are gonna do some things to themselves they will definitely regret...
Mischa, against all odds, manages to not bash the bully's faces into the pavement the minute he hears that they are even mildly upsetting Penny. But trust him, the moment he finds them (and he will), he is going hurt them so badly that they'll be unrecognizable the next time they walk into school (if they somehow don't end up in the hospital after that-)
Okay, so I have actually never watched Legoland, nor do I know much about it because I can literally not find it anywhere. :') So, I'm sorry if any information about Penny's past is inaccurate.
I can say that the choir all pretty much have the same reactions regarding her past, that reaction being a mix of both anger and sympathy. Although, Ocean, by far, can understand Penny's struggles with drugs and the like considering her own parents, and Mischa can also understand being away from your actual family. Both are very empathic about her situation and being able to relate to her in their traumas really brings them closer to her.
Noel has never been more glad to be considered a brother figure to Penny since hearing of her childhood since at least now she has one family member who she wants to have by her side (minus Ezra). Constance feels so awful that she was keeping that in for so long and that Penny had to go through that in the first place, it just makes her so frustrated that her parents were that irresponsible. All she wants to do is be able to take away that hurt, but she knows she can't, so instead she just tries her best to make new memories with Penny. Ricky would have never guessed in a million years that Penny had to deal with... well all of what was her childhood. He can't say he feels anything other than sympathetic for her having to deal with that stuff, but he is a very live-in-the-moment person and plans to just make her forget all of that with him.
Let's just say though, that if any of them happen to meet her parents, no matter how pacifistic they are, they will have some choice words and actions they want to say/do to them.
Again, thanks so much for requesting. :D

☁️Yandere Choir x Toko Fukawa!Reader🌧️
⚠️WARNING: General Yandere content, written with a fem reader in mind but no gender is explicitly stated, and potentially some Toko Fukawa bashing- Sorry, I just find it hard not to mention some of her bad qualities at the beginning. :'(⚠️

Ocean O’Connell Rosenberg:
"S-Shoo! How many times do I have to tell you to leave me alone!? I-Is it so amusing to see such an u-ugly girl cry, huh?"
Those words, along with a few others Ocean couldn't make out from around the corner filled the empty hallway after school. As she peered around the corner, Ocean couldn't help but roll her eyes at the scene in front of her. Seriously? Another bullying incident?? Look, she gets it. It must be hard not to be as successful as her, but come on, there are so many better ways to spend your time than harassing people!
So, as the model student she is, she struts over to the lot with a click of her tongue to sort it out. As soon as the group of bullies noticed Ocean coming over, they were quick to hurry along, not wanting to deal with whatever lecture they knew was waiting for them. Believe her, she really wanted to go after them too, but she was in a rush already since she needed to get to choir after she helped you out.
Ocean turns towards you, ready to scold you for god knows what before you cut her off with a rather... interesting comment. "Fighting with students on campus is strictly prohibited!-" "What, a-are you here to mess with me too?? O-Or are you some kind of w-weirdo who thinks helping me from some bullies w-will get me to make out with you o-or something!?"
...Yeah, Ocean felt her jaw drop a bit from that, feeling so confused and offended that you would even think that about her. She quickly retorts with, "What!? No, I was just trying to help you out because I'm a good person!" To which you responded, "Sure..., I-I bet you just did that so I'll owe you something! D-Don't try to d-deny it!!"
Your conversation very quickly escalated after that with Ocean trying to prove her innocence and you not believing her in the slightest. Seriously, it took a good 15 minutes of you two going back and forth with this before you finally relented and said, "God, f-fine, thanks for getting rid of them... J-Just don't expect me t-to give you something for it, g-got that!?" That was enough for Ocean to move on with her day gloating that she had done yet another good deed.
After this initial meeting, Ocean would bump into you occasionally, most of those meetings ending up like the first one. To say you were a lot was the understatement of the century and that's coming from Ocean... From how insecure you were to the awful assumptions you would throw at her, normal people would take this as a sign to just leave you alone.
But as is obvious, this is Ocean O'Connell Rosenberg we are talking about and there was something about you that deeply interested her. In fact, it was so interesting that Ocean from the day she met you gained yet another purpose in her school life, to fix you.
The first way she was gonna do that was by getting you to join the choir! Who doesn't want to add more extra-curriculars to their school lives? It looks great for colleges and gives Ocean more of a reason to talk to you! ...Which she already does a lot now by how often she goes up to you to try and convince you to join the choir.
Through her constant pestering, she even learned some more things about you! Like, that you had a pet stink bug named Kameko which Ocean can't help but find cute but also extremely weird.
She also knows of your extreme phobia of blood, the dark, and ghosts. You also had a habit of mentioning someone else, a girl who clearly gives you great distress, but you always backpedal before Ocean can get any more information. She has tried before to push you to talk about it, but you are very good at deflecting it.
Occasionally, she'd also get snippets of your writing, which Ocean can't help but envy... She's never met anyone with as much skill in literature as you and as much as she wishes she had that, reading whatever snippets you allow her to always manages to leave her in awe.
She honestly can't say she regrets trying to get you into the choir, it's the reason she's become close acquaintances with you after all. However, the more she gets to know you past all the extremities in the front you put up to protect yourself, the more she has a deep-seated urge inside of her that wants to know you more and spend more time with you...
And luckily for her, you couldn't take any more of her nagging and finally joined the choir, much to your initial displeasure.
Ocean was beyond ecstatic to see you walk into the choir room during one of their practices, knowing she had gotten to you. From then on, you and Ocean were pretty much attached to the hip with the excuse from Ocean being that, "As the lead singer of the choir, it is my duty to help you settle in!" Deep down, you knew that couldn't have been the whole truth, but as much as you expressed that thought to Ocean, she didn't budge.
It wasn't all bad though, Ocean was one of the better people to stick beside as her strong-willed nature could stand against whatever your insecurities made you feel about her. Plus, it's nice to have someone with similar intellect to talk to about literature.
With both of your firey personalities, you do get into some actual arguments sometimes, but after you both take time to cool off, you come running back to each other eventually.
Whenever you two become friends, all of the bullying you experience pretty much stops. With Ocean hanging around you all the time, it's hard for anyone to even get a word in when she goes off at them for even looking at you wrong. Despite how often she tends to push people down (she's getting better,) she is also very protective of her friends.
She's tried to get you to join her and Constance for sleepovers before, but you usually refuse for whatever arbitrary reason you can come up with like something self-deprecating or something about how you don't have time for it. If she ever does get you to join them though, she will be the 2nd best person to do it (the first being Constance) with as she is on top of whatever you need to have the night be enjoyable. She will literally bring a night light so you don't have to sleep in the dark, novels for you to read, and whatever else she can think of to keep you happy.
Ocean goes to you a lot for book recommendations since she reads a lot, most books she ends up tearing through and finishing in like, a day.
Ocean had really never thought your phobia of blood would ever come up after that one-off mention when she first learned about it. You guys were in school after all, it wasn't like blood was bound to be everywhere in St. Cassian, so when she gave herself a paper cut, she didn't think anything of it. In fact, she honestly forgot about it, just mentally cursing at herself as the cut stung on her finger...
And then she met her.
Genocide Jack.
As soon as she heard your body hit the ground before you quickly stood back up, your eyes turning red, and your personality doing a complete 180, Ocean knew she was in for a lot more than she signed up for. Genocide Jack was very different, she was so much more outgoing and uncouth than you, and her personality and violent outbursts baffled Ocean.
Ocean had to admit, Genocide Jack scared her a lot... It took her a good minute to accept what was happening in the first place and that she was talking to your alter, but to have said alter literally flat out say to her face that she murders "cute boys..." Ocean really thought her parent's weed must have gotten to her at this point.
You did sneeze at some point when Ocean was mid-freak out, returning back to your old self. As soon as you saw the look on her face, you knew what happened and that you had a lot of explaining to do.
Was Ocean any less scared of Jack after you explained everything? No. Was she less confused? Barely. Was she at least glad to know how she could prevent getting Jack aggravated at her? Yep.
Ocean has always been a bragger, why wouldn't she be when she is by far the most accomplished in all of Uranium? But that trait gets 100x worse when you are around. She gloats and inflates her self-esteem a lot, mainly because she wants to impress you. She just needs to have you think highly of her like how she thinks highly of you.
But don't worry too much about it either, because she will hype you up just as much if not even more than she does herself. You are obviously so much more intelligent and mature than everyone else in St. Cassian and you should know it! Really, you two are the only ones who are on the same level, that's why you need her and she needs you.
Now, you may be wondering about how Ocean fell in love with someone like you? After all, you are both very opposite in your personalities and beliefs.
The answer to that is... Ocean doesn't quite know.
There was just suddenly one day where when she looked at you, her heart started racing. Her hands started to grow sweaty as she glanced at your hands ever so often, wanting nothing more than to hold them. It was like a switch was flipped and instead of just wanting to be your best friend, she wanted to be so much more than that.
For a while, she almost blames you for it... There's just no way she's in love with a girl, or even in love at all! You had to have done something to make her feel this way, surely!! ...It took a while to admit to herself that, that wasn't the case and she just really liked you.
She likes you so much that you consume pretty much all of her waking thoughts and her dreams which is strangely okay with her. It's totally normal, nothing to be concerned about! Everyone imagines their crush becoming so co-dependent to them that they can't even look at other people, very normal indeed.
Remember how you used to deny having sleepovers with Ocean and Constance? Well, say goodbye to that because you will be having so many sleepovers with Ocean (just her) that she does not allow you to skip out on. In all honestly, she just always wants to be near you which is why she drags you to her house every day after school to spend even more time with her, It's not like her parents even notice she's there.
...Have I mentioned that she may have stolen a pair of scissors or two when you sleep? Because she has and she keeps them in the box under her bed that's filled with a ton of other things of yours.
Ocean treats you so well, like, she makes your bed, does your laundry, helps you study, whatever she can do to help you, she does.
No matter how many times you get a bit insecure and berate her for something, she literally sticks to you like a leech. She knows you don't actually mean it and she would rather die than get really mad at you.
Ocean also eventually learns to co-exist with Jack because you know, she's your alter and she isn't going away any time soon. It does definitely take a while for them to get along, but once Jack officially stops murdering people and becomes softer to Ocean, they are fine.
No matter what you say, she really thinks you are pretty. She loves your hair and clothing, all of it.
Ocean would probably die if you wrote a novel about her, like, she'd be so flustered and giddy at the same time. She'd have so many copies of the book and show it off any chance she gets.
What can she say, your love for her is now immortalized forever. :)
Noel Gruber:
Most days that Noel had to work at Taco Bell were unbelievably boring. In fact, Noel would say that a good 95% of his shifts have been completely uneventful, the other 5% being the rare few shifts where either a fight broke out or something interesting was happening in some other store at the mall. It's not necessarily bad per se, but it does make Noel drag his feet when getting ready for work since he knows it won't be anything special.
Today was going to be just like any other day in Uranium, plain and boring. Really, why must graduation be so far away... All he wishes to do in this life is move to France, must that be so difficult?
This mindset plagued Noel as he walked through the mall, the Taco Bell he works at just in sight. His lips spill out a sigh as he approaches his work sooner and sooner, only for him to be stopped by yelling.
"Are you Toko Fukawa!?" "Oh my god, she is! You know, I just love your book, "So Lingers The Ocean!"" "Will you please sign my copy of, "Blue Thread from the Scarred Mountains?""
Noel had no idea there was a celebrity in town... Around here, you'd think that would be the news of the century. He turns to see what the commotion is about, wondering if he saw the person's face then maybe he'd recognize some of their works, but as he pushes his way through the ever-growing crowd of people he is met with the face of some high schooler. Noel's brows quickly furrowed, confusion immediately settling in.
...Who was this? He thought maybe seeing her face would help remind him, but he still had no clue who this supposed celebrity was. What he can tell is that she is a high school girl who is getting harassed by her own fans, and the frustrated and uncomfortable look on her face is blatantly telling him that she does not want to be in this situation. Now, this isn't anywhere near his problem to deal with, he knows he should just get a move on and get to work.
But he had to admit this was interesting and he did feel bad that she was being harrassed like this... So, he did the one thing he knew to do at this point and he grabbed her wrist to quickly drag her away from the paparazzi. It took a few twists and turns for them to finally lose the fans, but Noel eventually got them to a more private spot.
You immediately ripped your wrist out of his grip, Noel taking a deep breath after the unexpected exercise. "Sorry, I just thought you needed to get away-" "W-Why did you drag me here you p-pervert!? W-What kind of s-sick fantasies do you have!?!?" You cut him off, a distrustful look on your face as you back away from him. Noel couldn't even get a word in as you kept coming at him with obscene accusations, all of which he tried to keep denying before you accused him of something else. He felt like you were just going in circles at this point...
After a good 5 minutes, he was finally able to say, "Look, I didn't take you here to do anything weird with you, all I was trying to do was help someone who looked uncomfortable. My bad for having morals I guess, now if you'll excuse I'm late for work." At this point, he was kind of done with the conversation and just wanted to go to work. (Which he literally never wants to do so-) And as he left you there, now very annoyed that his one attempt to be nice to an absolute stranger went horribly, he did hear you say something but it was too muffled for him to hear or care. He just went along with his day like usual..., albeit, now late.
His day was pretty tame after that, once the paparazzi left, the mall was pretty quiet aside from some older couples. He even got cut early for a change, so at least there was that.
He finished taking off his uniform in the mall restrooms and was on his way out the mall doors before he heard a, "W-Wait!" Only to turn around and see you walking up to him. He was honestly just gonna leave you there, done with your shenanigans for the day, but you quickly stopped him as you apologized for acting the way you did. Granted, you did it in a roundabout fashion and were still being a bit rude, but it was nonetheless different than what he thought you were gonna say. Noel just shrugged and said, "Whatever, it's not a big deal," before finally leaving, feeling slightly better about you and the day as a whole.
From then on, you'd occasionally visit Noel at his job in the mall. It was a bit weird for both of you but you both also never mentioned it. He also saw you walking around school and you two talked a bit more there.
Noel wasn't going to lie to himself, he knew you were pretty extreme to be around, but when you've been around people like Mischa and Ocean for more than a few hours, you learn to grow accustomed to the most eccentric of people.
Plus, when you weren't so hung up on him secretly wishing you the worst for something he didn't even know he did, he can see how intelligent you actually are which is a rarity in Uranium.
You were actually the one who decided to become friends with Noel but believe you, it was a very spur-of-the-moment decision.
See, Noel had been raving about a book that had apparently inspired his all-time favorite movie, The Blue Angel. The only issue was that said book, Professor Unrat, wasn't going to be coming to Uranium any time soon—nothing ever did. Yet, did that stop Noel from talking your ear off about it? If anything, it encouraged him.
He had wanted that book so badly..., so because you were totally tired of hearing him yap about it (Not because you care about him, what-), you used your liberties of being a well-known author to get your hands on one. It was exceedingly difficult to get one to Uranium, but somehow, someway, you managed to get your hands on one and it was even signed by the book's late author.
Whenever the book finally reached Noel's hands, it was after choir practice and he was walking you home. After you stammered through your totally not fake reasoning on why you got him such a gift, Noel immediately bombarded you with questions and thank yous like his life depended on it. He meant it too, he had been wanting this book for so long and he never even thought you actually listened to his rants about it... It was quite literally the most thoughtful gift he had gotten in a long time.
Though, as Noel kept pressing for your reasoning on why you went out of your way to get him said book, you flusteredly shut him up with, "W-Whatever..., this is just something f-friends do for one another, right? S-So stop bothering me about i-it!" You really hadn't even meant to call you both friends, it just fell out as you desperately tried to defend yourself from Noel's growing curiosity. Yet he didn't mention it, nor did you bring it up again so..., so it could only be assumed that it was true. You both were friends.
It was only natural that after you got your hands on that book, Noel would grow pretty curious about your talent. After all, even if he's never heard of you, to be able to get a signed copy of Professor Unrat was quite the feat.
You weren't shy about showing off your talents either, despite how insecure you can get, this was the one thing you were proud of, that you knew was worth all the constant praise it got. After letting Noel read a few of your works, he was honestly completely dumbfounded he hadn't heard of you before. Your writing was nothing to scoff at and as a romance novel enjoyer, it was safe to say for him that these were immediately going into his collection when he got home!
Yes, your writing is that good, and yes he will constantly ask if he can read the WIPs you have.
One thing with Noel is that he has the most roundabout way of making you feel not insecure about yourself. Like, any time you start feeling bad or start beating yourself up over something, he will say, "Do you think I'd seriously hang out with you if you were really that bad? Get a grip, how badly do you think of me?" Basically, you are gonna have to be forced to see how great you are because if not, that means you are insulting his best friend, which believe him, you don't want to do.
Noel's love language is words of affirmation, so as much as he's fine with tolerating whatever insult you or others throw his way, please throw him a bone every once in a while and compliment him, he needs it...
In turn, whatever your love language is, Noel will be sure to accommodate that every once in a while. He might deny that he was doing it because he knows you like it at first, but know deep down he does think about you and tries to be good to you.
Now, when Noel finally decides he's ready to come out to you, he kind of has trouble deciding how to do it. I mean, coming out is never easy, but it's especially hard when it's coming out to someone who you truly cherish and care about.
So, that's why like the coward he unfortunately has to admit he's being at this moment... He decides the best way to tell you and to not potentially get his feelings hurt so fast is to write you a letter. Maybe if you hate him after then you can at least appreciate the penmanship or something.
It took a good weekend for him to finish the letter as he wanted it to be clear, concise, and as perfect as it could be. The next Monday morning, he slips it into your locker and practically runs off as he tries to find someplace away from you as quickly as possible, again, just in case things go South. Whenever you got to school, saw, and read the letter... you just knew you had to find Noel immediately.
You looked everywhere you could think of to find him, from the library to the courtyard, to the cafeteria, yet he wasn't anywhere to be found. It took up almost all of your time before classes to find him in his favorite hiding spot he decided to share with you, under the stairs by the math classes. You were smart, so he knew you would find him here eventually but no matter how long he had to prepare for what you were about to say next was enough time to prepare him for a possible friendship breakup...
But the relief he felt when you hurriedly spouted out your acceptance of him, followed by a brief hug was far enough to make all that anxiety worth it. He knows it was silly to think you of all people wouldn't accept him for something like this, but his fears get to him sometimes.
He really is just glad it turned out okay.
Little did Noel know though, was that you both weren't done here for you had a secret you wanted to share with him too. With Noel coming out, something was telling you that you needed him to know about her, that he needed to be told the truth if you both wanted this friendship to last.
That's how Noel met Genocide Jack, otherwise known as just, Jack.
Although at the moment, you didn't allow your murderous alter to come out, afraid of what she might do and say to Noel, you were able to give Noel a pretty good idea of who she was. Jack was a psychotic killer who, in your own words, was absolutely insane.
The more and more Noel learned of Jack, the more he felt just bad for you... Sure, it was a little unsettling to know that your alter was in fact a serial killer, but she wasn't you. You shouldn't have grown through all that you've gone through, you shouldn't have to deal with knowing that your alter goes out and murders a bunch of men, you shouldn't have to deal with the utter guilt and awful feelings of it all. You deserved so much more than that. You were just a child.
...
You won't have to worry anymore, Noel isn't gonna let you worry. If there's one good thing in Uranium, it's you. You are the only good thing in Uranium and the only good thing in his life, believe him, he needs you. So from now on, don't worry about bullies, your parents, the guilt, or anything else, he wants to see you happy. If he has to break a few noses to achieve that, then so be it.
Noel wasn't going to leave your side ever again.
He actually means that too, because he will not be leaving you alone. If you thought you were clingy, Noel is 100x worse than that.
Not gonna lie, I can imagine discovering Monique was quite the experience for you.
Noel had let you read some of his poetry, most of them being from the perspective of Monique, though he never clarified that. He just said that it was written from the perspective of a character he made up. He was hoping you wouldn't notice how deeply personal the writing was or the occasionally sexual undertones they carry..., which was really stupid considering you are the ultimate writing prodigy.
Of course, you found out about Monique. It was exactly difficult as you kept pressing Noel on all the weird details and themes of each piece, eventually making the truth spill out of him. He was a little embarrassed when you found out, but it's not like you were judging him too harshly so he got over it pretty quickly.
If you ever get tired of going to Ocean for writing critiques, then Noel is gonna be your second-best bet. He isn't as skilled in writing as you but he is a great beta-reader for your more romance-heavy books.
That also gives him a chance to brag to other people that he gets to read your books before they go out the public. :)
Now, Noel knows you, there will probably be a day when you see a man you like and no matter how terribly he treats you, you keep going after him anyway... And as much as Noel hates that possibility, he knows you crave romance so deeply that you'll put up with it.
Although nothing is certain for now, just know he will be breaking whatever relationship you find yourself into as soon as possible. Those people are only there to hurt you and he'll be damned before he lets that happen.
You only deserve the best and he's the only one that can give it to you.
You're family now after all and he won't let you go.
Mischa Bachinski:
There are some days when life just feels like it's repeating itself, a weird deja vu that often makes you feel too powerless to stop it.
Lately, that's the exact feeling Mischa has been having. He gets up, goes to school, goes "home," avoids his foster parents, texts Talia, sleeps, and then it repeats. Maybe he's been spending too much time in his room, but life just felt so bland and unexciting... At least if he were in Ukraine, he'd have Talia there to comfort him.
But alas, life is cruel. He can only communicate with her through the numerous texting sessions they have, never truly being able to see and feel the girl he calls the love of his life. As he walks home from school, texting Talia once more, Mischa is prepared for another boring, repetitive day. He was ready for the daily life cycle to repeat for another day.
That was before he was unceremoniously knocked into, leaving him to stumble back while the person who bumped into him fell to the ground. Mischa made a silent groan to himself as he quickly brushed off the sudden event, he wanted things to be different, yes, but this was not exactly what he had in mind... As he looks to the culprit of the interruption of his walk home, ready to tell them off for being so careless, he is instead met with your harsh words.
"H-Hey, can't you look where you're g-going!? God, is everyone here t-this stupid?" As soon as those words hit his ears, he felt his jaw clench as anger bubbled up inside of him. Immediately, Mischa shoots back, "First off, you were the one who bumped into me, and secondly, you can't be saying anything, you act just as arrogant as everyone else in this stupid town." As soon as those words left his mouth, you were quick to retort him, the conversation soon turning into a full-fledged argument. One that went on for a good 10 minutes before being interrupted by a call from Talia where Mischa finally just rolled his eyes and walked away.
Safe to say his first impression of you was anything but great..., literally finding out you went to his school the next day just made him more upset about the random argument you two had yesterday, and don't even get him started about finding out you also joined the choir! It's like life was punishing him for daring to call it boring by making him deal with someone like you.
Seriously, he found the way you were constantly defensive about everything incredibly irritating.
Not to mention how you would almost always bash the people around you from your assumptions that they had bad intentions, even if they gave you zero reason to think that...
He's quite literally begging for life to go back to normal, he cannot take this-
The only thing he is even semi-willing to give you credit for is that you are undeniably smart. From the short time he's known you, you've made it clear from how easily you can decipher meanings in songs and solve general problems just how intelligent you are...
And as much as you annoy him, he will admit through gritted teeth that you are kind of cute. Talia is better though.
You weren't exactly too fond of Mischa either, despite him being visually what you envisioned for the partner of your fairytale romance to be, he was crude and like how Mischa felt, his first impression left a lot to be desired from you.
You both were stubborn people who could only begrudgingly compliment each other on a really good day..., which is what made you standing up for him equally confusing and unexpectedly nice.
We all know how Ocean can be, there are days where she really is not as bad as she seems and there are days where she is the most insufferable person on the planet.
Today it was the ladder.
All day, Ocean had been really just getting on everyone's nerves with her constant critiques, especially Mischa. Maybe it was just because his one respite in the form of talking to Talia was slipping away from him recently or maybe it was just because his hatred for Canada just seemed to be growing more by the day, but whatever it was, Mischa wasn't having any of Ocean's nagging today.
Really, nobody was, but as Ocean corrected his pronunciation for the umpteenth time, Mischa felt the final strings of his resolve snipping away inside of him, ready to just go off and finally get Ocean to stop for even just a moment. Before he could do that though, his fingers already pinching the bridge of his nose as he tried to tune Ocean out, someone else finally spoke up against her. That person of course is you.
He wasn't going to lie, he wasn't expecting you of all people to say something, maybe Noel, but definitely not you. Despite your stuttering, you were extremely eloquent and had no trouble at all in turning Ocean's ego down a few notches. Whenever you finally finished, Ocean even needed to leave the room for a few minutes while Constance rushed after her. Even Mischa had to admit that side of you was mad wicked awesome. >:)
You weren't exactly friends right after that, but it did show Mischa that you weren't as bad as everyone else here and you weren't as arrogant and selfish as he once thought out to be.
Plus, as you two did end up talking more, you ended up becoming friends! A weird combo that no one else thought was possible but ended up working out.
Mischa is kind of iffy on your talent, he does think it's neat and enjoys reading some of your works (especially if you write them in Ukranian,) but he also isn't too into the kind of literature you write. He just isn't too into romance novels as he prefers something more grittier, but if you do ask him to read something of yours, he will do it.
He will also definitely ask for your advice when making his songs, even if it's not your thing, and it has actually helped his rapping career so much. I'm not even joking, his raps are actually half-listenable now.
You two still do get into fights from time to time but even in some of your bigger arguments, you two are weirdly drawn to each other and one of you ends up apologizing in the end.
He is always extremely careful with you when it comes to your phobias since he'd just hate for you to feel scared or uncomfortable around him.
Mischa will be making you watch all the Saw movies, which are unnegotiable, he will, however, let you pick apart whatever plot holes you see in them as an exchange. Rest assured though, he will be fighting you on every single hole you point out unless he's proven very wrong.
As you are one of Mischa's only friends, he pretty much tells you everything which includes Talia. Now, you obviously haven't spoken to Talia and you are pretty sure she only knows you exist through a few mentions from Mischa, but you were extremely suspicious of her when Mischa first told you about her. However, any time you brought it, Mischa would shut you down real quick, making it clear that Talia was not going to be something debatable if you wanted to keep your friendship intact.
So, you didn't, no matter how much it irked you when Mischa would complain about Talia growing more and more distant as of late, you kept your mouth shut about it (surprisingly.)
But then came the breakup.
You were going over to Mischa's house, like usual on the weekends since your house was strictly forbidden. Once your feet reached the porch of his home, you texted him that you were there and were ready to wait for him to eventually retrieve you and bring you down to his room. Mischa was oddly quick today though and the look on his face as he dragged you down to the basement made you know that something was up.
With the door being shut with a click from Mischa, he finally started to speak, his words rambled and his tone distressed. "Natalia broke up with me, please tell me what I did wrong! I need to fix this-" It took a few seconds for you to register what he was saying as he kept rambling, the news making you feel rather conflicted... On one hand, you really wanted to just rub it in that you were right and do an I told you so thing, but on the other, you did feel bad for Mischa. Like, come on, you would kill to have a guy so passionate and devoted to you, how could she throw something like that away?
So, against your better judgment, you made a sigh and guided him away from the door to his bed so he could sit down for a minute, his mouth shut as he stopped rambling but his face was so full of defeat...
After a while of just helping him calm down, you finally got the full story of what happened. Apparently, Talia had broken up with him the night prior as she, in her own words, had "found someone else." Mischa was hurt and you were at a loss since you had never been in a relationship before..., the most you knew to do at the moment was awkwardly rub circles into the palm of his hand as you tried to explain that there was nothing he could really do to fix this. She wasn't in love with him anymore and there was nothing he could do to change that, he couldn't force the girl to love him.
She found someone else to fulfill her needs and as much as it sucks, he needed to be okay with that.
Mischa took a long time to recover from the hurt that Talia had left him.
He gave so much for her, she was literally his everything and now she was gone. She was gone because he couldn't give her what she needed...
In some ways, your words did give him some perspective, but he really just needed time to spring back from the relationship. Truthfully, it was nice to have you by his side as he recovered though. You with your interesting quirks and flowery literature. In his eyes, you were like a lone candle when all the power went out, his one light and warmth in such a dark, lonely world.
It was comforting to know that there was someone else he could rely on..., someone else he could give his love to.
Platonically.
Obviously.
Moving along to a completely different topic, Mischa now has another thing to worry about and that is making sure he is never in the presence of Genocide Jack!
Very early on in your friendship, you would mention Jack without ever explicitly stating her name or saying anything about her, you would just say things like, "S-She just drives me c-crazy!" or "There's no way I'd ever let her come out ever again." Of course, he'd question you on it, but you would almost always refuse to answer no matter how insistent he was with it. He really hated being so pushy with it, but he couldn't just let someone mess with his friend this badly! He sees how terrified of her you are, please just let him help you!! :(
So, you eventually let up and did. Unintentionally, but you still did let him see the person who was bothering you so much...
Genocide Jack, the girl who's been causing you so much misery, was apparently your alter..., which was a rather confusing thing for Mischa to learn. He knows of people with DID and has even met a few people with it, but he never once suspected you would have it due to you never once mentioning it. Nor would he have suspected your alter to be a serial killer.
Back to how he met Jack, Mischa was once again pushing to find out who was causing you so much trouble as he wanted to help you, no one should ever dare to cause his friend so much distress! You were getting a little irritated by his questions and were being defensive about the whole thing, you never wanted him to find out about her... And yet, somehow, someway, you happened to have spot blood, you sneezed, and it all went downhill from there.
The person Mischa was greeted with was so different from you, as soon as Mischa asked if you were okay after seeing you freeze up for a second, he was met with the loud and boisterous Genocide Jack. At first, he was incredibly concerned with your dramatic personality shift and the way Jack so openly fawned over him but Jack quickly enlightened him as to who she was and what was happening. She was your alter ego and apparently someone who seemed very keen on using her scissors on him...
Thankfully, you managed to take control again before something seriously bad happened, but you knew as soon as you saw his face that you had a lot of explaining to do.
Mischa is pretty understanding about the whole thing and reassures you that Jack's murders are not your fault. As you two talk things out and he learns more about how you learned about your DID and what caused it, Mischa really can't help but feel so hurt for you...
He really hopes you know that he cares so much about you.
After learning about Jack and your past, Mischa grows incredibly protective over you, he doesn't even try to hide it. He wants you to feel safe and comfortable and other people, especially other men, will only hurt you.
Mischa has a bad habit of being convinced you are going to leave him every time you are away from him for too long... He knows it's stupid, but after what happened with Talia, he really doesn't want to take any chances with you. That's probably the reason he always feels the need to be so clingy with you.
His thoughts are so unintentionally filled with you, like, everything he does always ends up having him thinking about you in some way.
Mischa falls in love with you hard and fast.
The first time he ever noticed just how intense his feelings for you were was when you two were at some carnival in Uranium. It was evening and Noel had convinced everyone to go on the Ferris wheel as the last ride of the day, to which everyone was too tired to argue with him. You and Mischa got together in one of the carts, sitting across from one another, and eventually, the cart started going up.
A comfortable silence filled the air as you both just enjoyed the sunset and each other's company. As a cool breeze rushes by you both, the cart making it to the top of the Ferris wheel, Mischa glances at you and...
God, you are breathtaking.
He doesn't know how he never realized it sooner, but with the wind gently making your hair sway, the sun illuminating your form, and a serene expression on your face... You just looked heavenly.
His heart rate picked up, racing through speeds he never knew it could go to. It was there he realized he loved you, far more than he loved anyone else before.
You were just perfect for him.
He feels conflicted about teaching you Ukrainian sometimes, just because as nice as it would be for you to speak his native language, he also likes to call you кохана (my love) and for you to not know what it means.
If you ever call yourself ugly or insitutate you are, Mischa is gonna put a stop to that real quick. To him, you are far from that, and anyone who even tries to call you that will be dealt with, trust him on that.
You are so beautiful in his eyes.
Mischa will be treating your pet stinkbug, Kameko, with the utmost respect. If you love it, what right does he have to be anything other than nice and respectful towards it? Plus, he can see how much it means to you and he would never want to hurt your feelings because of something petty.
He will never say it out loud, but he really wants to run his hands through your hair.
He honestly really loves being able to bond with you over your family issues, not only because it's nice getting it off his chest, but because that means you rely on him. ...Sometimes he even hopes that you'll have a bad day with your family so he can hold you in his arms and comfort you.
Mischa knows this thought might be a tad delusional, but sometimes when he reads your romance books, he can't help but feel like they were written with him in mind. The thought makes his heart beat so quickly and he really wishes it's true.
Even if you don't write your books with him in mind, he is certainly writing his songs with you in mind. Every lyric, melody, beat, etc., is written with you in mind.
Not like he can get you off his mind anyway.
Ricky Potts:
Constance Blackwood would probably have to say she is the number one fan of your books, like, she's read every single one and has consumed every piece of media she has available to her.
And while Ricky Potts isn't as big of a fan as she is, Ricky was definitely enthralled when she introduced him to your romance novels. The writing in them was brilliant and every word just drew him in to read more and more, he really did love your books. He loved them so much, that a lot of his own works are inspired by yours.
Although he doesn't think he can call himself that much of a superfan knowing people like Constance are out there, he definitely was excited to see that you were doing a book signing in Uranium. How lucky was he!
He and Constance made sure to be the first people in line for the signing, which unfortunately was a bit empty considering most of the people in Uranium were older people who didn't enjoy new-age romance novels like yours. Thankfully though, because of the lack of people at your signing, Ricky didn't have to suffer too much from standing for such a long period of time.
He and Constance got up to the signing booth pretty quickly, both of them excitedly saying hi and you took the books they had and signed them. Normally, Ricky would feel a little bad from holding up the line by asking a question, but this was honestly a one-in-a-lifetime chance for him, rarely anyone goes to Uranium, so he might as well ask something. That something is, "What made you decide to do a signing in Uranium?" The robotic voice of his AAC device asks.
As stated before, Uranium isn't exactly the most popular spot for book signings or for much in general. Ricky had to admit he was really curious about why you chose this place at all instead of somewhere like Vancouver or Montreal. Your response though, had him incredibly shocked. "...I-I'm moving here, there's no way I'd b-be here otherwise." First of all, ouch... but also unfortunately true. Secondly, you are moving here!? If Ricky could be jumping for joy, he would.
As Constance hurriedly apologized to the line behind them and to you, rushing Ricky past the signing booth so they would be out of the way, Ricky couldn't help but have a big grin on his face. One of his favorite authors will be moving here and likely will be in the same school as him as he knows you both are the same age, how neat is that! :D
Also, you didn't ignore his question or anything, which was pretty cool. :')
Ricky was over the moon for the next few days as you moved in and he saw you walking around school. He never got the chance to talk to you for a while after you moved in, but he was pretty giddy to get to know you as a person and not just as an author.
Before that time though, he was content in just observing you for now.
What surprised him most about you definitely had to be how opposite your personality and looks were. He rarely, if ever, actually judges a book by its cover (I feel like that can be a pun-) but you'd have to admit, you looked a lot more timid than you actually were. Sure, you stuttered like how he knew and would expect you to, but you were a lot more brash than he initially thought of you as.
You also tended to be pretty defensive about almost everything. Ricky can't say he minds though, honestly, finding out about this side of you was really interesting! Plus, have you seen the choir? He definitely has no room to judge when they are his friends.
The first time Ricky really got to talk to you for more than a few seconds was during some school event you were both supposed to help out for. Ricky was quite surprised he so coincidentally got chosen to help out alongside you, but he definitely wasn't complaining. If fate had that kind of plan for him, then so be it.
He made his way through the door to the counselor's office and was met with you standing alone, presumably waiting for the counselor to show up so you'd both know what to start doing. You looked back, seeing Ricky make his way through the door with a wobbly smile, giving a small wave whenever he made it to the spot next to you. You actually started the conversation before Ricky got to, your voice holding a questioning tone as it hung in the air. "Were you at my book signing the other day?" To which Ricky cheerfully nodded, glad and slightly shocked you remembered him, and he grabbed out his AAC device to respond. "Yes, I am. This is a little late, but, welcome to Uranium."
You and Ricky talked for a bit before the counselor finally came in and gave you both a checklist of things to complete before the evening. You both introduced yourselves, although you technically didn't have to, and Ricky gave you the gist of how things work in Uranium. Of course, as the afternoon went on with you two chatting as you worked, you both got to know each other a little better.
Admittedly, there were a few moments where you'd be less than pleasant company by insulting him or sometimes getting so impatient that you'd skip past whatever he was going to say with his AAC device, but it was clear to Ricky that none of it was anything more hurtful than basic insults meant to throw him off from wanting to talk to you. And although it did hurt, he felt compelled to move past it and keep talking to you, which was eventually rewarded as the insults did eventually stop even when you got defensive or insecure.
He wasn't even sure why he kept going, maybe it was a philosophy of his or a weird interest he had, whatever the reason, it was safe to say you both became fonder of each other that day. In fact, after that, you both quickly became friends!
Ricky obviously already knew you were an amazing author, but to find out that you are literally known as the ultimate writing prodigy was something else entirely.
Seriously, it's like everything he learns about you is so much more compelling than the last.
And yes, he will subtly try to convince you to write stories about Zolar and if you don't get it, he will not so subtly beg you. He just knows his adventures will sound so much more amazing in your words!
Ricky really does love your academic style, he thinks it suits you well.
Look, no matter how clingy you are, he will still love being your friend since he can also be pretty clingy. When you only have maybe 7 people you can talk to and only two of them will listen to you about Zolar, you are gonna take all the attention you can get.
Plus, you are just really awesomesauce. :)
Look, he knows that others may find it annoying, but he kind of likes it when you get all cocky about your artistic works. You deserve to be proud of yourself, even if you do get a little too prideful with it. He will hype you up!
He will go to you with writing ideas all the time. Say goodbye to writer's block because, with the wild ideas Ricky's pitching to you, you will never have to worry about it again.
Just know that whenever Ricky spaces out, it's either about Zolar or ways to keep you from leaving him.
It's a weird phobia he has.
So, as the writer that you are, you are bound to end up keeping a journal or two. It's good practice to just write your thoughts down from time to time!
And as the curious boy Ricky is...
He went through it.
Look, he knows it's supposed to be a private, personal thing of yours, but that's what makes it all the more forbiddenly exciting, that he isn't meant to be looking in there. As he reads some mundane entries of your thoughts or about your day, all the which he gushed over you while reading, he finally came to a particularly intriguing page.
On the said page were a lot of references to feeling guilty over something and even disgusted over "her" hurting people. That page and a few more entries, all describing a certain person who was causing you so much trouble and grief made Ricky's eye twitch in aggravation. He wasn't irritated at you, he doesn't even think that's possible now, no, he was irritated at the person who dared to cause someone he adored so much trouble. Just who do they think they are messing with you like this?
You are just too great for your own good.
Ricky knew he had to act quickly after learning about this awful vermin, he didn't want to keep letting you suffer at the hands of this person. But he also knew he couldn't exactly tell you he was snooping through your personal journal..., he knows exactly how you'd react and he doesn't want to make you feel awful about yourself.
It was a pretty complicated situation, one that took a good few moons to solve, but he eventually came up with an idea. He would come clean but in the most roundabout way possible, one where you wouldn't know he went digging through your journal and he could still get some information on the person.
After sitting you down in his room on a particularly nice Saturday morning, he finally popped the question to you. His face was full of worry as his hands steadily signed to you, "Has something been going on with you? ...Has someone been messing with you?"
Of course, you didn't come out and say it initially, you weren't that kind of person, it honestly took a lot of time, pushing, and reassuring to even get a peep out of you. Whenever you did start explaining it, the fact that you have an alter named Genocide Jack who was a serial killer, Ricky could stop the shock from appearing on his face. In no world or story would he ever have imagined this scenario to come up, especially not with you of all people.
As you kept explaining, a pit of anxiety formed in your chest as Ricky looked lost for words the more you went on. For the first time in a long time, Ricky had nothing to say, no words to explain the thoughts that were rummaging through his head. A long, tense silence filled the air between you and Ricky, Ricky deep in thought as he tried to think of what to say. He wanted to comfort you so badly, to say anything to you so you wouldn't have to feel so worried and alone in this situation.
His mind kept being blank before he took a big breath and moved carefully towards you for a hug. After which, he signed with all the love and care he could muster, "Sorry for bringing it up, I'm always here if you need to talk you know. I don't mind helping you get in touch with a therapist either, I know I can't substitute a professional or anything like that. Just..., whatever you need, I am here to give it to you." He could only hope that was the right thing to say, he doesn't know what he would do if he lost you...
And by the way you shakily replied with, "T-Thanks...," He assumes he did alright.
From what you told him about Jack though, he's gonna make sure he stays away if she ever takes over..., for his own safety.
Ricky felt like his adoration for you was obvious, really, it's not like he ever tried to hide it from you before. There's no reason to, he wants you to know how much he cares about you.
The thing is though, that he also thought his love for you was pretty obvious. Again, he never bothered hiding it since he's sure you feel the same way, right? Like, you never let anyone get as close to you as he's gotten, that has to mean something write?
...You love him right?
He loves you a lot.
Ricky fell in love with you the moment he saw you..., is what he would say, but he more accurately fell in love with you during your first ever sleepover together. He was undeniably pretty giddy the whole day even before you got to his house since this was your first sleepover with him, he wanted it to be perfect.
And, it kind of was. When you got there, you both did all your typical sleepover stuff of playing games, eating junk food, and even playing with his cats for a bit. The last thing that was on his bucket list for the night was to watch a few movies, an obvious sleepover staple he knew you two had to do. So, there you both were sitting on his couch with blankets and pillows comfortably lying around you two. About halfway through the movie, he feels your head fall on his shoulder, something Ricky tries to ignore due to his own internal freakout for a brief moment before he finally wills himself to look at you...
...
That moment will forever be cemented in his mind because you looked so at peace, in a way you never ever do when you are awake. You were at peace because of him.
He fell so hard for you that night.
Truthfully, one of Ricky's favorite things to do is mess with you. Not in a mean-spirited way, of course, just small pranks here and there.
Ricky definitely has a plush in his room that you and him won from some carnival and named that he now treats like his son.
Please yap to him and let him yap to you, it's his favorite activity and that's saying a lot since that title used to belong to him spacing out and daydreaming about Zolar.
So, Ricky does have a tendency to cyberstalk you... like, a lot. He even somehow knows of your secret account you post anonymous ramblings on.
Not only does he cyberstalk you though, but he also cyberstalks everyone close to you. He wants to make sure you're safe and no one around you is a bad influence! (Who needs that many friends anyway when you have him?)
He will often stay up late at night just rereading your books over and over again, a lovesick grin on his face every time he looks at the signature that you signed on the front page.
You literally make it impossible for him to do anything other than think about you, so don't be surprised if he one day can't take it and acts out on his urges.
Penny Lamb:
Penny really would have loved to meet you in any other way, she really would have...
It's just that, meeting in the counselor's office to do her weekly therapy session was not where she expected to see someone as gorgeous as you also waiting for Dr. Prattle. Not to mention, she really wasn't emotionally ready to make any conversation as she had to deal with the usual group of girls trying to mess with her as she came in.
The point is that this wasn't exactly the best place or time to talk to you.
So you guys didn't talk. At all.
Which in retrospect is perfectly normal, but Penny just felt so awkward sitting next to you with no one else in the office, not speaking a word even though it's clear she wanted to talk to you. Thankfully Dr. Prattle called her into his office soon after (literally the only time she's ever wanted to actually see him,) and Penny, albeit a little sad about it, was pretty sure she wouldn't have to be alone with you again. Good for her anxiety, but not so great for her getting the chance to talk to you again...
You win some you lose some.
But of course, as most things go in Penny's life, her wishes were not respected and you were still in fact there at the counselor's office the next week. As soon as Penny walked through the doors and her eyes saw you, she knew that last week wasn't a one-time thing... She knew that those long awkward silences as she waited for Dr. Prattle to get her weren't going away any time soon... Great.
She quickly shook off the thought to go sit down and not linger by the doorway for too long, getting a bit of deja vu as it was the motions of last week played out before her again, the same clock ticks, the same fluorescent lights, the same you... Taking a breath, a few words slipped out of Penny's mouth that neither you nor her were expecting. "So..., what are you in for?" As soon as Penny said it, she felt like dying on the inside from how much she was cringing...
It seemed like you weren't too thrilled by her lackluster communication skills either as you replied with, "N-None of your business... Y-You think I'm that weird that I'm in h-here for therapy or something, huh?!" To which the situation only escalated as Penny tried to explain what she meant through her fast-paced words and anxious smile. "No! That's not what I meant at all, It's just that I saw you in here last week and I wondering if you were in here for a specific reason or if you just came in here to be away from everyone else-" Penny kept rambling on as you would keep shooting things back at her, making her trying to keep overcompensating so you hopefully wouldn't think she hates you for no good reason.
Even when Dr. Prattle called her up, Penny would still mutter a few sorries in your direction before the door shut behind her. That wasn't the last of it either, because for some reason every single time she went in and saw you, she'd say yet another cringy thing and you would unfortunately, more often than not, become self-deprecating.
Really, the only thing keeping her going in this strange relationship of yours was those rare days where the conversation didn't immediately escalate and she actually got to know you a little bit. For Penny, that was the main reason she kept trying to talk to you, at first it was to just clear the long, tense silences that filled the air every week, but it slowly transformed into her wanting to actually know you. She doesn't have many friends and she knows what it's like to deal with preconceived notions and anxiety which is why she really wants to push past your walls.
Because if she can do that, she won't have to deal with it alone anymore.
Penny tells a lot about you to Ezra, as she does with pretty much everything, and while he isn't totally keen on you treating Penny so harshly, he'd be lying if he said he wasn't interested in you as well.
What can they both say? Most people in Uranium are either really bland old people or bullies, neither of which really catches their attention.
Penny has thought about bringing you a gift on several occasions, but she always chickens out last minute since she has no idea what you like...
Like, she knows you like writing and movies but you give so little information about yourself (probably because you aren't that willing to open up to her,) that she can't think of anything.
...
She really is trying here. :(
Despite Penny's normally anxious nature, this was one thing she was really stubborn about, that being becoming your friend. Perhaps it all goes back to her ex-love, Johnny Moon, but whenever she finds someone she likes or is rometly interested in, she can't help but really want to get closer to them! Plus, with the way you let your walls down sometimes and give her tiny crumbs of info about you, it's hard not to want to push some more.
So, when Penny walked into the counselor's office just like every other week, she wasn't expecting much to change. The only thing that was kind of different was the fact that she had a book with her this time titled, "The Family From The Day Before Yesterday," an interesting story she's sure you would enjoy! Going through the motions of sitting down next to you, stumbling through conversation as she eventually brings up the book, Penny was halfway through explaining it before you interrupted.
"Y-You don't have to explain to me my own book, you know? I k-know it's great, I w-wrote it." "...Wait really?" "D-Do you just not look at the flap that tells y-you the author's information? O-Or am I just that ugly that you couldn't d-dare look at it?!-"
Penny was certainly surprised to find that you wrote TFFTDBY (long acronym), but in her defense, your name wasn't on the front and your information was on the back flap which she wouldn't have seen since she hadn't finished the book yet!
Pushing that aside, however, Penny was actually able to connect with you on something so, huzzah! Pretty much as soon as you noticed the wide grin on her face and stopped your rant to ask her what was up, she immediately started to ask questions about the book and your writing process, all of which you happily indulged in.
Every week after that, she would bring in that book or a new one of yours she started reading to discuss it, finally being able to talk to you and be able to hold a normal conversation like Penny's been wanting. You too also felt yourself growing fond of Penny's company, even if you'd never admit it. You've met a lot of fans over the years but Penny's enthusiasm felt different..., it was genuine and it gave a weird tingling feeling that you couldn't ignore.
Her presence almost became a nice comfort in the cold, small town of Uranium.
Plus, you weren't going to complain about someone gushing about your writing to you.
Once you guys start hanging out more outside of the counselor's office, Penny will not so subtly beg you to watch her choir performances as she deems them very boring but having you there will make them at least a little more fun. While you usually refuse, the few times you do go, you can see Penny's face light up every time she spots you in the crowd.
Look, you may have teased her for carrying around a doll several times, but that hasn't stopped you from helping Penny form a collection with how many you gift her... It may not seem like it, but you do pay attention to what she likes.
Penny would have never guessed you were the type to own a stinkbug, but finding out you had one was so random yet fascinating to her.
You have gifted her matching friendship bracelets, yes it was corny, and no you will not be taking it off anytime soon.
To be fair, there are days when you can get snippy, but even on those days, you two eventually can reconcile.
Once Penny can get past her anxiety and she gets comfortable with someone, she can be a bit of an oversharer. Like, she tells you every single detail about her trip to see Johnny Moon and about the times she and Ezra visited Walmart. She tells you about pretty much everything in excruciating detail and she encourages you to do so too! ...Like, a lot.
Penny just feels like she talks about herself too often, which makes her feel really bad. So, she trys her hardest to get you to talk about yourself too, whether that be on how your day went or intricate details of your past, she wants to know it all. Plus, you can trust her, she would never want to hurt you! (She likes you way too much to do that.)
All you have to do is let go and rant about whatever is bothering you, easy as pie.
...
So, knowing you were going to have to get it out of the way sooner or later, you tell Penny about your darkest secret, something you've never told anyone before. You've never told anyone because you thought you would never be able to trust anyone, thankfully though, you were wrong about that.
Sitting on the edge of the bed in Penny's room, Ezra's presence absent, you spill about your alter, Jack.
As you lay out all your vulnerabilities at the moment, sparing no glance at Penny as your eyes were glued to the floor with an unconscious fear of rejection, Penny couldn't help herself but smile. She can't believe you would have ever thought that your alter would make her think negatively of you, it honestly makes her want to laugh a little.
She would never blame you for something you can't control, not to mention, who is she to judge you with all that she's done? She's just so happy you finally opened up to her. She would hate you keeping anything from her, especially something as important to you as this.
Before you can finish, Penny gently grabs your hand and tries to give the most comforting smile she can before saying, "You know you never have to worry about telling me these things right? I could never hate you." Although she's not as great with words as you are, she really hopes the few she can put together are enough to soothe you.
...If she ever does come across Jack though, she will be saying a few not-so-kind words to her for making your life so miserable.
Moving on, with Penny being the person she is, it really isn't so strange to her or probably anyone who knew her well enough that she knows that exact time and day when her feelings for you became a little more than friendly. How could she not keep track of something as important as her falling in love?
She may have grown up on a commune, but talks of love and fairytale romances were not uncommon at all for any girl there to hear of. Really, in the back of her mind, it was all she thought about, she was always wondering just when she would meet that special someone.
The point is, she fell in love with you the evening of July 4th.
It was a nice summer day in Uranium and you both were making some homemade pizzas from scratch, something Penny had never done before but was eager to try after having it on her bucket list for a while. The process was a bit messier than both of you had realized with flour practically everywhere, but at least both of the pizzas were in the oven! You and Penny were leaning against the counters, chatting about nothing and everything like always, before you made a comment that you can pretty much make a poem out of everything, something that deeply interests Penny.
So, with that challenge so teasingly dangling in front of her, of course, she dares you to come up with poems for various things like the fridge, the floor, the granite countertops, everything she can think of. You obviously excel at this and before long, you have made a poem for pretty much everything in the kitchen, the only thing that was left was Penny herself. Now, Penny didn't think too much of this as she just assumed the poem would be a short silly one like everything else had been, yet the words that were uttered from you next were far from that...
The poem you curated for her was heartfelt and as passionate as you'd let yourself be. It wasn't at all what Penny was expecting and yet..., that's when she knew.
That was the exact moment she felt her heart skip a beat, her face was warming, and her palms grew sweaty.
She knew she had fallen in love with you.
There was no way in hell she was gonna let you go either. She loved you so indescribably and with that poem..., surely you felt the same way. You had to, there was no other choice.
Penny is usually not that big on touching and in all honestly, neither were you, but there will be moments where she is the clingest person alive. She is very touched-starved.
As gifts, she will try to make poems and other short stories for you to enjoy. They definitely aren't the best, but you can tell they are full of love and care.
(She totally isn't projecting you both onto the main characters, what-)
As said before, she isn't the touchiest person, but please, please, please run your hands through her hair!! She adores it! :))
You are now required to go to all her choir performances, no questions asked. If it helps though, she will be more than thrilled to go to any event you have planned! She might even go even if you ask her not to...
She just wants to keep an eye on you is all.
Say goodbye to your bullies because they will not be seen again. :)
Same with anyone who even remotely tries to flirt with you, because that's not gonna happen on Penny's watch.
Constance Blackwood:
Constance truly couldn't believe this day had finally come, really, it felt like a dream!
She had been reading your books for so long now and you're by far her favorite author. Your words are just so articulate and you are able to bring her to tears with just a few words..., not just anyone is able to do that, you know.
So, as is obvious, the event Constance is so excited about is you coming to Uranium for a book signing!! Even now, as she and Ricky wait in the relatively short line outside the library, it feels so surreal. Who would've thought someone like you was coming to Uranium of all places? Uranium is far from a popular place so it does seem a little strange, but she was definitely not going to complain.
It didn't take long to reach you, yet every step Constance took made her giddy and anxious simultaneously. As they got closer and closer to you, she couldn't tell if she was about to throw up or squeal from the whirlwind of emotions she was feeling... Then of course she got up to you and the nerves really started kicking in.
All her nerves would let her do at the moment was anxiously say hi, ramble on for a minute about how big of a fan she was, get her favorite book signed, and then leave. That was all she could handle at the moment, otherwise, she might just explode-
Which she almost did because even after she somehow smoothly broke past her anxiousness and did the whole song and dance of getting her book signed, Ricky just had to ask what you were in Uranium for. And yeah, Constance was curious, but having to talk to you any longer than she was planning to be making her nerves shoot up. As Ricky's AAC device speaks out his question, Ricky oblivious to Constance trying to inch them along, your response almost made Constance freeze up immediately.
...You were gonna stay in Uranium? For real?? Her favorite author of all time was going to live in her city and go to the same school as her???
Her nerves could not compete with the sheer amount of joy she was feeling at the moment as she and Ricky left the line, the widest grin on both of their faces. She knew right then and there that she was going to try her hardest to be your friend because, when do you ever get another opportunity like this? Plus, she's sure Ocean wouldn't mind a new face in the choir with all the recruitment she's constantly doing!
And the rest is history! Ocean was immediately on board with the idea and somehow Ocean was able to get you to join the choir.
Now that Constance can get to know you better, she will be the first to admit that you aren't the most secure person, which is totally okay! She had to also admit though that it was kind of surprising considering she's kind of put you on a pedestal as her favorite author, so she really can't fathom why you would even feel insecure.
She also doesn't get why you don't think her friendly gestures are genuine!! It makes her so sad to hear you be so suspicious of her motives when all she wants to do is talk to you. Thankfully, you did let up after a while and you eventually don't call her every bad name in the book anymore just for saying hi, but it was pretty startling for a minute.
Some might think that after she got to know the real you (or at least as much as she can know about you from being acquaintances,) that Constance's view of you would change to a more negative one. After all, everyone says to not meet your heroes, right? Well, for Constance, that assumption would be incredibly wrong. She's dealt with her fair share of awful people in Uranium and online, but the difference between you and them was what made her want to keep pursuing a friendship with you.
That difference being that you have the ability to change and she is wants to see that. Sure, the people she previously have met and had exhibited the same cold, rude responses that you are currently could also change, but she knows that something about you is different. She wants to see you grow into the good person she knows you are deep down.
Plus, with how much your words have changed her life, she can at least do this for you. :)
Constance usually loathes being called nice, because..., seriously? "The nicest girl in town"?? It just feels like a pity title because no one could come up with anything better.
But is she complaining when that title is the reason you choose to come to her when the rest of the choir is being too much? The title that lets her bond with you and lets her get closer to you? Oh, definitely not, this might seriously be the only occasion when her niceness really gets to shine.
While the rest of the choir is off doing their usual shenanigans, being loud and chaotic as usual, you and Constance hang back and chat. A nice break that eventually goes from just hanging out because everyone else is too chaotic, to you both hanging out because you are friends. Constance is like the shade under a tree that protects you from the grueling sun.
She wants to keep it that way.
Now, believe Constance when she says she is the biggest fan of your works because she 100% is.
So whenever you explain to her your ultimate talent, that of being the ultimate writing prodigy, Constance is not surprised at all. She might be a little taken aback that someone can be called an ultimate for that (since writing is very subjective,) but after shaking off that initial surprise, she is spouting on about how much sense that makes and praising your writing like there's no tomorrow.
If you ever need an ego boost, go to her because she will give you one times 10!
No one would have ever guessed you both work well at being friends, probably due to how different your personalities are, but somehow you two just balance each other out.
Did I mention that are your go-to person when you pull all-nighters? Constance is 100% a night owl so she will be awake and ready with a coffee and pastry in hand if you need it.
You are not the greatest at giving compliments, that's a fact you have come to live with and that Constance understands, so the few Constance can manage to make out of you get her so giddy. Especially begrudgingly reassure her that she has qualities other than being nice, it's nice to hear that in general but it means so much coming from you.
A hobby Constance has seemed to pick of up recently because she's been around you so much, is writing. Not just any writing though, she really likes writing letters.
To you.
She has written countless letters to you, none of which will ever see the light of day, all about things she likes about you in excruciating detail. And yes, most of them can get a little... creepy.
Constance also has a habit of tracing her fingers over the rim of your used coffee cups..., it makes her feel closer to you in a way that makes her heart race and face get hot.
For the record, Constance had put together the pieces that you had potentially dangerous alter long before you ever told her anything. Do you think she knows so much about you by just not doing her research? Of course, she knows bits and pieces of your alter that she was able to find online or wiggle out of you.
Nothing could have prepared her for meeting that alter of yours though.
It was during one of your late-night coffee runs to Constance's house, which she always happily obliged to. You both were hanging around the kitchen, waiting for the coffee pot to brew, and chatting like always. It was a calm, cool night, no reason for either of you to suspect the wild events that were soon to take place...
Constance had decided to cut up some fruit for the two of you after explaining you needed something healthy to balance out the coffee you were about to have. She laid some strawberries on the cutting board after washing them, the knife slicing threw them with ease. She must not have been paying enough attention or her lack of sleep was finally catching up to her, because in the midst of talking, Constance accidentally cut herself.
It wasn't a big cut or anything, but it did start bleeding and caused Constance to reel back with a small hiss in pain. She turns to you, hiding her hand behind her back as he is acutely aware of your phobia, but before she can ask to grab the first aid kit..., the damage has already been done.
You stumbled back before passing out, causing Constance to call out your name in shock and concern, rushing over to you to catch you before you hit the tile. As she held onto you, shaking you lightly to try and wake you up, you eventually arose from your unconscious state.
...Except that it wasn't you, it was Jack.
And to say the sudden switch in your personality wasn't surprising would be a lie. Jack quickly jumped up and was already up to her usual shenanigans while introducing herself, being incredibly vulgar but at least giving Constance an explanation as well...
It took a while for you to switch back, like, a good three hours. Constance did get to know Jack a little in that time and although Jack does scare her, she had to admit she was kind of funny-
You didn't even need to go through the effort of explaining everything as Jack did it for you, and even if Constance would be willing to lend an ear if you needed someone to talk to, she gets it if you don't want to.
So, you know how Constance is your biggest fan and you know how most people have a celebrity crush?
You can guess where I'm going with this...
Constance, for whatever reason, had a pretty big celebrity crush on you for a while. It started out as just some silly crush that she was sure was never going to happen, after all, she had zero chance of leaving Uranium and you sure as hell weren't gonna just magically appear here. So, she just settled for giddily watching clips of you and maybe writing some really bad self-insert fanfiction... (Does this count as a fourth wall break?)
And yet, somehow, someway, the gods finally decided to toss her a bone in the form of having you literally move to Uranium, and that made her crush on you so much worse. She initially just tried to keep her thoughts and actions toward you strictly platonic, after all, you totally weren't gonna end up being the person of her dreams right?
...Right??
...
Yeah, the universe was back to torturing her.
She fell for you and she fell for you hard, like, she thinks about you at every possible moment she can. It was kind of embarrassing...
But what can she say, you have some really captivating eyes. (Ones that she hopes will only look at her and no one else.)
Constance can be a bit clingy and she knows it. She pretty much follows you everywhere and will not give you much alone time, if any at all.
Look though, as much as she loves you and knows you aren't the careless type, she will be in fact confiscating your scissors whether you like it or not.
Hold her hand. Pretty please.
You guys definitely have certain shows and movies you watch together and only together. Even if you do complain from time to time that the books are better, you have to admit it's a nice activity that you look forward to a lot.
So..., Constance tells her family pretty much everything she can about you, so much so that they pretty much think you two are dating even if you aren't. Will Constance ever correct them? Nope.
Constance for sure has a fanpage dedicated to you, one where she can spend even more of her time dedicated to you by talking with others who like you as well! (No one else can match her devotion to you though.)
Remember the letters mentioned previously? Yeah, those are a whole lot creepier once Constance finally admits to herself that she likes you.

A/N: I FINALLY FINISHED THIS, YAY! :D
By the way, for everyone, I have closed my requests, if you weren't aware. I did it mainly so I could finish up the requests I do have and also so I could write some original stuff for a change, lol.
P.S. I know I didn't mention much of Toko's backstory here, for which I apologize. If you would like me to write about it, please feel free to request it whenever I open up my ask box again!
