Miša Blam’s - Sećanja (Memories) - Everland Music reissue of 1979 jazz-funk LP from Yugoslavia with some monster breaks
* The rarest and most wanted ex-YU album * Jazz dance DJ’s holy grail from 1979 * Licensed by Jugodisk Miša Blam’s - Sećanja (Memories), one of the most sought of, rarest and cult ex-Yugoslavian jazz LP’s - is finally reissued, sourced and fully licensed straight from vaults of Jugodisk (Belgrade, Serbia). And where better than on the Everland’s Everland-Yu imprint dedicated to the unheard sound of Yugoslavia! This LP, kept tight in private ex-Yu collectors cabinets and championed by jazz dance DJ’s across the planet, was recorded in 1979 and released in only 1000 copies in 1980 by the Beograd Disk label. The LP is filled with jazz-funk, bop styles, latin jazz and even Gospel live recordings by the Golden gate quartet (recorded by Miša himself) all accompanied by the crème de la crème of Yugoslavia’s jazz-funk instrumentalists at the time (Jelenko Milaković, Lazar Tošić, Stjepko Gut, Jovan Maljoković, Josip boček…). Miša Blam (1947 - 2014) was an influential Serbian jazz composer, arranger, publicist, festival organizer and Radio-Television Belgrade’s long-time collaborator (jazz and folk orchestras, recording engineer, music director…). But Miša was first and foremost a bass player! Having played with numerous worldwide famous jazz cats he often talked of his work in the Chet Baker - Sal Nistico trio while living in New York and playing with them for two years (or rather bailing Sal out of prison or buying off Chet’s trumpet on his behalf from the pawn shop). The album perhaps represents an unusual collection of songs mostly composed by Miša Blam himself during his world wide spanning jazz pursuits in the 70’s. Unusual for it does not stand alone as a cohesive album release but as a collection of works that we were lucky to be rewarded with in his very sparse discography consisting of: one EP, this LP and one cassette tape… Finally this collection showcases what was Miša all about – and that was jazz bass in all its marvelous forms – from lacing dreamy ballads with his impeccable upright bass fiddle play to grooving on his fender bass on the jazz-funk monster Sećanje which could be included on any acid jazz compilation of the 90s (check out Balkan Express...). Masterfully executed and kept to its original sound this release will keep your ears busy and open to the sound of ex Yugoslavian jazz and the sound of unheard Yugoslavia – where-else but on Everland-Yu!

Hi, I hope you are having a great day. Ok now.... I don't know if it's alright to ask, feel free to ignore this, but what are your thoughts on L torturing Misa, using criminals as bait and other shady methods ?? Most of the tumblr fandom consider L to be a selfish and arrogant person who doesn't care about justice. My take is very different from all of them and sometimes it just feels wierd to see people calling L as evil as Light.
Hello Dear Anon! It’s absolutely ok to ask. You've come to the right place lol! I, too, have a very different take on L’s methods than most of the fandom does. I would love to know your thoughts on L, Anon. Send them to me if you feel so inclined! 😊
Now before I continue, this isn’t a commentary on anyone else’s views or HCs. This is just my experience with L as a character. Please keep in mind I was a Death Note fan long before I joined the fandom, so that may be another reason why I tend to not share the same views as many others. I had already formed my thoughts on the characters before I got here.
With that being said, let’s get to it!
Misa…okay, yeah, he held her captive for over two months, blindfolded and bound in a tiny room. Sure, if this was just some average criminal, this would be excessive, but Misa was the second Kira, something he had proof of and more just kept coming in to back it up. He saw her kill without even a name, something that completely shattered his previous theory that someone with Kira’s powers needed a name and face to kill. He watched someone he worked with on a daily basis drop dead at her will. Yeah, I think blindfolding and strapping her down was warranted. He had no idea how she did what she did, he just knew she could do it from a distance. She was the killer and the weapon in a way. He had no way of knowing she needed the Death Note to commit murders. What he did was extreme, but with what he knew and what he saw? He did what he had to do to keep everyone in the building safe. Was it the best way to approach it? I guess the question is what else could he do not knowing her abilities? It was the only way he could guarantee everyone’s safety.
As for denying her water. I never took that as water was indefinitely withheld. I read that as they kept it from her for a short time, but I always thought that she refused to drink when they did give her water. I also didn’t think he never let her get up and move around unless she needed to use the facilities. She couldn’t survive those conditions for as long as she did. The body isn’t designed to be sedentary all that time and her blood would pool, etc, and she certainly couldn't survive without water. Now…to be fair… I just shrugged a lot of this off as handwave writing on Ohba’s part, because to him, it wasn’t a key element of the story he was telling, so he didn’t care to research what L was actually putting her through. I think sadly he never gave Misa’s well-being a thought and didn’t expect his readers to either.
Using death row criminals to his advantage. I personally never had an issue with this. He isn’t sentencing them to death. He is merely changing the method of execution. He chose people that were already on death row. With the thirteen day rule, one of the stipulations was to have the death sentence commuted if the prisoner survived.
Tumblr media
I can only assume the same offer was made to Lind L. Tailor, though that is just conjecture. I think the thing here is that we see the Task Force being outraged and readers just go along with the moral high ground, not really examining what L’s reasoning is. (I can't imagine a criminal looking at a death sentence would pass up this offer. It's a chance at survival, no matter how small.) Now if he was choosing any random prisoner not awaiting execution? That’s different, but he’s not. He’s simply using that they are going to die anyway to gain information. To me, it made their deaths not be in vain, but what the hell do I know?
Now…L not caring about justice. I completely blame that on the “That Monster” speech (and its accompanying manga panels from Chapter 109), and as beautifully haunting as that is, to me, it never made sense to his character.
Tumblr media
The whole driving force behind Death Note and L and Light’s push and pull was that they both had their own brand of what they thought justice was. To say he didn’t give a damn about justice undoes the basis of their dynamic, so no. I don’t think he doesn’t care about justice. I think he was testing the kids at Wammy’s to see if they had what it would take to be the next L, because if they still want to pursue being his successor knowing the man they’re going to replace one day had questionable reasons for doing what he did, then they would be able to handle a lot that was thrown at them. Just my opinion.
Now before I shut up about this, I want to point out that L does care...he may not be the most demonstrative or conventional with affection, but he does have a heart and a moral compass. He cares about the FBI agents dying, cares that Naomi is missing. He is affected when Ukita dies. He wants Aizawa to choose his family over the case...Just because he isn't a gush show with hearts in his eyes doesn't make him an arrogant uncaring asshole. It just means he expresses himself in his own understated way.
I mean...he's reflecting on how the FBI agents were murdered, wondering if it would have been different if he was keeping a close eye on them instead of imprisoned criminals.
Tumblr media
He decides to show his face, something he has never done before, because of this. I don't see this as a man with no heart or morals, but hey, what do I know?
Tumblr media
I think a lot of characterization in fandom in general comes down to something very simple. If you want to see a character as horrible, you will. If you want to see them as a hero, you will. I guess it doesn't really matter what their actions are if you view them through a certain lens. What lens should be used? Well, that's up to each of us.
Honestly, if I had seen him the way the fandom at large tends to view him, He wouldn’t be my all time favorite character.

Future Skin Care Purchases  - work in progress
Tumblr media
Updated as of 02/28/2019.
These are products I have not yet purchased, but I am highly interested in, and may or may not purchase, depending upon funds.
Oil Cleansers; Jullai Super 112 Bounce Cleansing Oil
Cleansers; Secret Nature Volcanic Ash Cleansing Water, Blithe's Anti-Polluaging Himalayan Pink Salt Cleansing Water, BENTON Tea Tree Cleansing Water, By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash, Glow Recipe Blueberry Bounce Gentle-cleanser
Toners; Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner, ACWELL Licorice pH Balancing Cleansing Toner, I'm from Rice Toner, BONAJOUR Green Tea Water Bomb Toner, BONAJOUR Eggplant Daily BHA Toner
Mists; Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Ultra-Fine Mist, KLAIRS Supple Preparation Facial Toner
Masks; MANEFIT Natural Gift Green Tea Pore Care Sheet Mask, I'm From Series (Mugwort, Honey, Vitamin), Skinfood series (Egg White Pore, Freshmade Watermelon), Isntree Real Rose Calming Mask
Essences; NEOGEN Real Ferment Micro Essence, ATRUE Real Black Tea True Active Essence,
Ampoules; Yuripibu's Amaid Ampoule
Eye Creams; MISSHA MISA Geum Sul Giyoun Eye Cream, ERBORIAN Seve de Bamboo Eye Matte
Eye Masks; Secret Key Gold Racoony Hydrogel Series Eye & Spot Patch Set (Gold, Marine, Rose)

Lip Blams; HOLIKA HOLIKA Good Cera Super Ceramide Lip Oil Stick, innisfree Green Tea Lip Balm, innisfree Canola Honey Lip Balm
Currently researching DECIEM products because I really want to add them to my routine. But this is what I got thus far. The site is just SO confusing, with all the fancy names and ingredients.
NIOD is also a money pit, so once you dive into one product, I am sure you get the urge to get the whole lot. It is very much an investment, and will take me a long time to save for a bulk order (since they sell sets), or one at a time, while crying that I want the rest.
Hylamide;
SubQ Eyes; I have some serious dark eye circles, so I am always willing to try something to minimize this, and this looks interesting. I am slightly more interested in the NIOD version, but because of the pricing, would try this one first, unless I am feeling funds ballsy and jump into the other one first.
NIOD;
Copper Amino Isolate Serum; From reviews, this is supposed to be one of the best selling products from this line and concentrates on your overall skin's health. I confused it for the harmful copper, but this is supposed to be different, so after some research, I am more excited to try it.
Multi Molecular Hyaluronic Complex; I am assuming this contains the same ingredients as the Marine Hyaluronic and Hyaluronic Complex with B5 from my Google research, just into one bottle. May be worth purchasing this to bulk them together, instead of individual bottles. Seems to offer more benefit, even with the price tag, seems more cost effective in the long run. Since I seem to do fine with the MH, I will be replacing it with this, when I am done with the bottle. I can’t wait!
Modulating Glucosides; I have issues with sensitivity, irritation and itchiness, so this product seems interesting to help with those issues.
Flavanone Mud & Myrrh Clay & Mastic Must & Voicemail Masque; Fancy masks are fancy.
Lip Bio-Lipid Concentrate; Looks like some serious lip oil treatment, and I do have some majorly chapped lips, despite my heavy water drinking. It may be because I am on diuretics.
Low-Viscosity Cleaning Ester and Sanskrit Saponins; Having released there own version of the double cleanse, I may give this a try - only if I have extra funds, and I am not enjoying my current routine.
Ethylated L-Ascorbic Acid 30% Network; I am still confused about Vitamin C, and wonder if this is quite different, can use at same time, better, or worse then what I am using now, which is the COSRX Typle C Lightning Liquid.
Fractionated Eye Contour Concentrate; May be an upgrade from the SubQ Eyes, and honestly, for the price, it better raise Jebus. If the other doesn't work, I may be desperate enough to attempt this one for my dark circles.
Non-Acid Acid Precursor 15%; Supposed to be an alternative to peeling without using acid. I am still up in the air about trying this one out, because I am afraid of trying the more serious peels.
Superoxide Dismutase Saccharide Mist; Looks like a good, antibacterial, inflammation, hydrating mist. I was thinking of removing mists from my routine, since I can’t mist throughout the day because of sunscreen, but this actually looks like it would be more beneficial in conjunction with all the other products, even if used once during your regular routine.
Re: Pigment; This has mixed reviews and is quite pricey, but I heard good things about this particular line and would be willing to give it a shot, as I suffer from a lot of hyperpigmentation.
Chemistry Brand;
Hand Chemistry, Extreme Hydration Concentrate, Heel Chemistry, Hyaluronic Concentrate, HA3 Hand Hydrator, Retin-Oil;
The hydrating hand and body oils seem to be the only interest for me in this line. I suffer from severe dry hands during the winter that can lead to Dyshidrosis, if I don't treat it properly. I often break out two times a year in the winter with this. Otherwise, I never had any issues with body/hand dryness. So I may opt for these products during the winter. I do suffer from hyperpigmentation from acne scarring on my back, and other parts of the body from scarring (I did a lot of rescue work for cats). I feel the Retin-Oil may help with this - but honestly, I am a big tattoo buff, so everything for me will eventually be covered by tats, so I never really invested in body care in terms of visual appeal. I just use regular ole black african soap lotion, and or Gold Bond for Excema, worked just fine to help with any pain for dryness.
As for their “reduce hair” line - I would never be interested in that (face, leg, arm pits). I was born with lucky genes I guess - which is quite odd, because all of my female Filipino relatives had insane body hair. But me... never had that much hair growth in the first place. Then I was placed on Spironolactone, and that almost obliterated the little growth I did have. I am talking about, I can go six months without shaving my legs, and it looks like I haven’t shaved in two days - very minor hair growth!
Fountain; I honestly don't take supplements, I only recently decided to do a multi-vitamin and take zinc for my acne. I also do Kachava shakes, and that has a lot of good protein.
AB Crew; This honestly just overall confused me and I don't think I would use any of these products. Though the AB Carving Gel and Shredding Oil look interesting if you wanna strut your stuff along the water. I do have issues with cellulite and stretch marks, but I feel their aren't any topical products that could ever correct this issue, you would have to get it surgically done. Many products claim to rid these, but it is just not possible without a professional. I am sure with long term use, you can diminish it - as I tried to do once with coconut oil when it was all the rage - but I never saw much difference, even after a few years - I used pure virgin coconut oil as well.
