Being told that my character hasn't been cleaning themselves properly in at least ten days was honestly the worst and most shocking part of the game. chapter 6: march

summary:

(“Be here. For Adrien.”  “Emilie, I can’t…” “For me, then. Love him for my sake.”)  A sob cracked open Adrien’s chest. He ripped away from the wall, clapping a hand over his mouth to try and stifle himself. His lungs wheezed, a crumpled can, and the world slipped off its axis. She was dying. She was dying. She was dying, for real, and soon, and this was what they hadn’t wanted to tell him.

Time barrelled on after that, like a ground speeding toward him in freefall. 

Lessons slipped through his head and smiles stretched over his mouth and Adrien’s life became, more than ever before, defined by the moment he would next see Maman. It was like his brain couldn’t catch hold of anything else, couldn’t grasp it. Even when he was out doing other things, in other places, he wasn’t really. He was always back with her.  

The shift happened sometime in the beginning of March.

A change in the air, the bones. The house held its breath. Walls stood cleaner and quieter and bigger than before. Or maybe Adrien just got smaller. Maybe it was like a vacuum, like he’d learned about in physics. All the air sucked out of his lungs, crumpled up like a can. 

The silence was the worst. When Adrien was gone, he could lose himself a little. Turn his brain off at photoshoots and fall into the monotony of fabric on his body, skin on his face, hands all over, fixing him and fixing him and fixing him. Dissolve into the rhythm of fencing, blocking and thrusting and parrying and sweating and not thinking not thinking not thinking. But being inside the house was different. He couldn’t do anything but think, couldn’t be anyone but himself. Even his shows started to fall flat; Adrien found himself restarting the same Ouran episode ten times because he hadn’t absorbed a thing. The house was so quiet, his brain so loud. The world was transparent and he wasn’t quite sure he was real. 

And then he would see Maman.

why does no one talk about how in passion, adrien was considering using the Wish for NATHALIE. he’s accepted that emilie is long gone, and he doesn’t even consider using the wish to idk .. make his dad love him or whatever, but to cure nathalie. adrien, who we’ve seen cope with loss better than anyone in the show (don’t quote me on this), would’ve gladly altered time and space to cure nathalie. THATS his mom right there idc.

I keep seeing this trend in fanfics and in people's headcanons where they have Marinette be the drinker of copious amounts of black coffee, whereas Adrien is sipping on whatever ultra-sweet frappe-macchiato-caramel-chocolate-drizzle-whatever concoction

And I would just like to raise the point, that Marinette very obviously has a sweet tooth. For goodness sake, she lives in a bakery and I just can't imagine her, at the very least, to not adding some milk and sugar to her morning coffee (which is of course consumed in copious amounts) and would probably even enjoy something with some flavoring to it too

Adrien on the other hand, has been under the strict guidance of his father and Nathalie all his life, and when consuming coffee, was probably not allowed to have anything with excess sugar

I'm willing to bet that for a long time, all he had was black coffee, with the occasional cold brew with a dash of almond milk ("wouldn't want to get too indulgent there Adrien" - Gabriel probably) and it had never occurred to him, even as Cat Noir, to order anything different

What I am proposing here, is that the first time that Adrien has a sip of a sweet coffee drink, he begins bouncing off the walls for sixhours, until he falls into a sugar crash and passes out for the night at 3 pm

Hot take but Chloe was 100% in the right when it came down to arresting André(the ice cream man, idk his last name) in Revolution.

Like the guy has been operating a food business without any permits for decades (Marinett's parents went there while they were still dating), Which implies that he hasn't had any food health inspectors check to see if he's even up to code

It’s been a while since I’ve written a proper story, so I’ve decided to come out of retirement with my faves!

Here are some doodles to go with it! The cake in the drawing is the one Luigi and Peach make for Daisy in the story, and then on the right, I was too lazy to draw the Toad-equivalents of Sarasaland (2 brain dead to come up with name) 😭 so imagine them looking like the children from the Grinch movie.

What's your favorite Marinette ship?

Lukanette, 1. there's content for it and 2. luka is my favorite character and 3. i think luka is more capable of murder than adrien and that's super appealing to me. to marinette? maybe not but she doesnt have to know

Miraculous’ story is so deeply intertwined with the notions of child abuse and neglect that they kickstarted the entire plot.

I hate Master Fu. You hate Master Fu. We all hate Master Fu. But that doesn’t change the fact that, at some point, he was a child who was:

Abandoned by his parents so he could fulfill a mission he never chose; in the process, he was ripped from his siblings and isolated from other children, exactly like the Senticousins were.

Put through intense training — like all Sentikids, but especially Kagami — and deprived of food and rest by his guardians (Get it? Guardians?) on at least one occasion, as a way to prove his worth.

Left alone to deal with the strong negative emotions that such a treatment would inevitably stir up in a young child (his only support, his apprentice’s staff, becoming home to Feast’s amok as he yearns for companionship).

The result? Utter chaos and destruction, which led to the loss of the two Miraculous that are very explicitly linked to emotions and control. And, of course, deadly damage to the Peacock, which is what got us into this mess in the first place.

DISCLAIMER:

I am aware that the Order of the Guardians was inspired by actual religious practices in Tibet and am in no way condemning these. However the show, through Master Fu’s perspective, clearly wants us to understand that this was a Bad Thing That Happened and that the consequences continue to haunt our heroes nearly 200 years after the fact.

And haunt our heroes they do: Master Fu (who had literal decades to fix his mistake — don’t get me wrong, I still hate the guy) is forcing the same responsibilities that broke him on two innocent kids — especially on poor Marinette, who is just as unprepared to deal with them as he was back then.

The cycle keeps repeating itself.
