The line "wait he did that?!" is UNREASONABLY funny to me.

Like it's not. It's really not. It shouldn't be so funny, first because it's literally just an exclamation. Second because Nathalie is downright shocked that Gabriel would willingly save her (and the details in the S5 finale show that she has good reason to doubt him).

But also. She's just ninja'd her way into the basement and snuck up on Ladybug. And she's so fucking stunned that Gabriel did something nice that she just. Blows her entire cover. With a very slight incredulous tone that screams what, seriously? Him?!

This scene was so impactful for me. When I was younger, I was such a clumsy and anxious kid, and when I started Miraculous in 2015, I did not expect it to take over my life like it did. I saw myself through Marinette and realized that even though she wasn't that confident, she would always find a solution to her problems, which helped me in my own life to be more confident and relaxed. She wasn't defined by her anxiety or her awkwardness but instead by the way she reacted to her problems and how she solved them. This scene felt so conclusive to Marinette's arc, like she started out so unsure of herself and unconfident about being Ladybug to the point that she even considered giving her best friend the one thing that would change her life forever. This special showcased how far she's come and how mature she's gotten felt like I was looking at my past self; it felt like the end of an era. The soft music combined with the S1 lighting made it such an emotional moment.

Sorry for rambling so much on my first post on here; this show is just so important to me. I don't know if this post is gonna get much traction just wanted to share my thoughts.

The only person who's justifying Marinette lying to Adrien is Marinette to herself. Kagami says she's blinded by love. Nathalie says it's time to tell the truth. Plagg and Tikki awkwardly dodge the question. Bunnyx only gives her a vague non answer. It's just Marinette who's spending the entire special trying to justify her decision and telling herself that she did the right thing. Everyone else who's in the know about what's going on is trying to tell her to be honest with him.

I think on some level Marinette knows lying to Adrien wasn't the right thing to do. She regrets not telling the truth. Which is why she's trying to convinve herself it was the right thing to do so badly. Because she already did it. And she's too deep in to go back on it.

She means well, obviously. She was trying to protect him. She didn't want to hurt him. But the longer she waits to tell him the truth the more it'll hurt him in the long run. And she isn't even aware about the extent of her lie yet due to not knowing that he's Chat Noir.
