Hey! I'm making a F!Leo cosplay and I was wondering if you have any advice for how to do the shell? The plastron, specifically. Yours was amazing! Ty xx

Yeah of course!!! Luckily the rise plastrons are very geometric so its pretty easy to make a pattern from it! I dont have pictures of early steps so pls bear with me <3 info n pictures below the cut

First thing i did was make a pattern of my torso with plastic wrap and tape so i could see the curve of my stomach and chest. Cant say this helped a TON, but i cant imagine things in my head, so it helped me conceptualize the size and dimensions i would need the front panels to be to cover my torso.

Next i started sketching small patterns for what the cut outs may look like. DEFINITELY make a paper pattern, this took a lot of trial and error and you dont want to waste too much foam. I cannot for the life of me find my paper patterns unfortunately, but hopefully you can see part of where im coming from with the detailed pictures of the plastron!! I made patters for 1/2 of the plastron, and flipped the patters over to make the other half mirrored and symetrical.

Now the cutting. I used .7mm foam (i think?? I got it from micheals. Joann fabrics has some but only small sheets. If you want less seams you should get the bigger ones, or buy massive sheets online. EVA foam isnt too hard to find, but make sure your density and width is appropriate for what youre making. When actually cutting the pieces out, some cuts will be flat while others may work best at an angle. I used mostly 90* and 45* angles to make clean edges and corners.

Bear with me bc the pictures in this next part are kinda uglie </3 ill explain why later.

For matching the curve of the body, i used a fresh blade and made shallow triangle cuts on the backside of the foam as can be seen here:

It would have worked better if the chest pieces were also vurved by i was on a time crunch and didnt have the time to make a 3rd or fourth plastron (yes this was a second fully completed attempt orz). Im also a bigger dude so it may be easier if your torso is smaller. I also had the benefit of making my pants from scratch (using a demon slayer uniform pattern that i altered) so i made the waistband big enough to tuck the shell into, which helped with keeping it curved around my body.

(This but only applies to future leo and i did post gluing the pieces together, but for his Top Surgery Scars™️ i cut into the chest at a 45*angle, then glued those pieces back onto the back side to seal the cut)

For gluing, i tried a whole lot of types but jothing worked as well as cement glue. It is toxic tho so make sure you do it outside or with good ventilation, and wear gloves/a mask. I did two layers on each edge then stuck the edges together, 3 if i noticed the foam absorbing it to much. Make sure you take the gluing slow and really put pressure on the pieces to lock them together. Follow the instructions and youll do fine.

For painting, i did 2 layers of modge podge, 1-2 priming layers (depends on if foam is white or black to start), and then whatever layers you need for a smooth coat of color. I topped it off with modgepodge again to seal it, but that may not have been the best idea for the following reasons....

EW YUCK. WHY IT LOOK LIKE THAT.

Well. It didnt always. Turns out when youre wearing approx 3 laters in the summer then cover your body with insulating foam, the heat and moisture makes the modgepodge MELT. and like i said before, this bottom portion was tucked into my pants so it did not breathe. I have yet to even try to find a solution but just keep it in mind when making your cosplay (and if you find a solution PLEASE LET ME KNOW! My one idea was tryna find a sealant that wont melt (obv) but idk what that would be)

And FINALLY. how to secure it to the body suit!! I used snaps!! So easy and nice (besides the melting issue but thats a different thing entirely.) They never came off or gave me problems (minus the melting) and made the shells easy to transfer/travel with and put on.

All in all, The plastron was so so hard and im honestly still not happy with it, planning to remake it before i wear him again. Please show me your cosplay when you finish it, id love to see!! Please lemme know if you have any other questions!! 🐢💙

CHEAT SHEET/ EXPLANATION FOR EACH CHARACTERS' TEAMS UNDER THE CUT

Let's start with yuriko, her team consists of a gallade, a combee, a bisharp, a rookidee, a gothitelle and her beloved furfrou. Since chess is a BIG theme to yuriko's character, i wanted each pokemon to sorta reflect each piece in a game of chess (minus the king bc i ran out of room). Combee is the pawn because in chess: pawns are the weakest piece and are kinda there to protect the queen in a way, similarly to how worker bees in a beehive tend to do stuff for the queen (not to mention that pawns actually CAN become queens in a game of chess, similarly to how normal bee larvae can grow up to become a queen if fed enough). Bisharp and rookidee are the bishop and the rook for obvious reasons, gallade is the knight and gothitelle is the queen (though tbh i also partially chose those two bc in yuriko's usual form, she is a danganronpa fan character, specifically a celesgami fankid and i kinda associate those two characters with those pokemon...albeit with celeste it's more or less the gothitelle line IN GENERAL) lastly i chose a furfrou bc that's the closest i can get to yuriko's goofy ass dog, gambit.....there are no borzoi pokemon i'm afraid

Also ngl whenever i hear gothitelle's name, my mind immediantly goes to cottonelle and i can't help but think of emo toilet paper...

Next with makeighlyn: her team consists of a sylveon, a galarian ponyta, an indeedee, a porygon, a spiritomb and an absol. I imagine that since makeighlyn's whole lore is that she's a flash game mascot turned demon slayer, she was probably given a sylveon, ponyta and indeedee by her creators (the sylveon representing her pet cat, angie) but ended up finding and catching a porygon after she gained sentience; when she became a demon slayer, the souls of all the demons she killed formed into a spiritomb and she caught that too and lastly she caught an absol to sorta let the demons know she's coming since y'know.....absol is said to be a bad omen....also yes, makeighlyn IS wearing may's contest outfit, it was easier than just thinking up an original pokemon universe design for her

For myrtle: her team consists of a zorua, a cubone, a banette, jirachi, a duskull and a zubat. Tbh i didn't really put that much thought into her team, i just picked the edgiest pokemon i could find....though with cubone and banette i just picked them bc they're infamous for having really dark pokedex entries and are a common sight in the more horror-oriented side of the fandom, and also i picked zubat bc it's the first pokemon i think of when i think of team rocket (aside from meowth, obviously) typically i prefer not to include legendary/mythical pokemon whenever i give a character a pokemon team for the sake of believablity though i just couldn't resist giving myrtle jirachi considering how much it fits with her backstory (normally, myrtle's story is that she randomly discovered she had reality-bending powers one day and abused her power so much it caused a dimensional merge; though since this is pokemon and humans don't have powers, i feel it makes more sense if she caught jirachi and abused it's wish granting powers)

Lastly for renée: her team consists of an altaria, a castform, a smeargle, a snom, a munchlax and a bruxish. Tbh i only really gave her an altaria and a castform as a sort of callback to the fact that renée is a bird (though i had to make her human for the sake of this challenge), specifically a pigeon-cloud nymph hybrid; so i gave her a cloud bird and a weather creature! Since renée is more or less a 2014 tumblr-esque hipster (a bit millenialcore i daresay), i gave her a bruxish bc i've literally never seen a single person who likes bruxish (i personally don't really care for it either way but like....LOOK AT THIS THING!!! IT LOOKS LIKE IT SHOULD BE HANGING OUT WITH THE BEATLES IN PEPPERLAND OR SOME SHIT)

Anyway, i also gave renée a munchlax bc tbh that pokemon SCREAMS millenials in 2014 tbh (like....fr you'd be hard-pressed NOT to find a millenial on the internet from that era making jokes about how much pizza and avocado toast they eat) i also gave her a smeargle to reference renée's love for painting and a snom bc....tbh i think snom is kinda overrated and i feel like renée would be the type of person to make that damn thing her entire personality so yea (also renée likes bugs so i had in incorporate that SOMEHOW)

After having a few days to play around with Slayer, I want to share my opinion on him and his strength as a character.

In short, while I think he's absolutely a premium character near the top of the roster, I don't think I would really call him an all-around strongest due to how matchup dependent he feels.

In long: his damage is fucking ridiculous. Genuinely fucking ridiculous. You can get 300+ damage meterlessly at ROUND START with a Pilebunker loop. It does require a bit of luck (you need a counterhit H normal) but the fact that he can even do that AND ALSO GET POSITIVE BONUS is insane. His absolute biggest problem though is his movement, to an annoying degree, and it's where a lot of the matchup stuff comes in. I played against an Axl who beat the absolute shit out of me, and the whole time he seemed to have a very easy time just moving backwards and poking me out. Axl is definitely very good at that, but JESUS.

Slayer's movement is just so, so fucking bad. All of his options to get in are incredibly committal, and are all flawed in some way:

-Mashing Dash: Slow. You can't block during the dash. You can't special cancel the dash (as far as I know).

-Walking: go make a coffee while you wander over to your enemy lmao

-IAD/Jumping and Airdashing: Prepare to taste a delicious 6P

-Mappa Hunch: Pretty long startup and whiff recovery, and if your opponent blocks it you're probably giving up your turn. Vulnerable to being stuffed by disjoints, or even just trading disadvantageously.

-Dandy Step: Same problems as Mappa but with the added bonus of not going as far!

-RC Super Mappa Hunch: Costs 100 tension.

-RC 6K > j.s: Might actually be pretty useful? I haven't tried it before but you go flying full screen so...

These movement issues are the crux of what I feel makes him not an overall strong character, just because he gets zoned so so hard. Don't get me wrong, he is very good, but he has a lot of glaring weaknesses that are very prevalent in certain matchups. Hand of Doom is also garbaaaaage even just backdashing on wakeup in this game feels bad but the followup is iekrnfkdowbekfnf.

All of this, though, means they did a pretty excellent job of translating him from XRD, where I'd say a lot of the same things about him! His strengths are very matchup dependent! I also want to be clear that him having these weaknesses is important. If he could just run you down and melt 3/4 of your healthbar away, he would absolutely be the most overtuned character in the game. Insert Sol Badguy joke here.

There are some things I'd nerf, though:

-Lower the height of It's Late. Fucking look at this shit man his fist isn't even ever up there

-Make the Dandy follow-ups and Mappas an extra frame minus. (Dandies -3, Mappas -2 and -3 respectively.) They're supposed to make Slayer give up his turn on block, but often you can sneak in a 2K or 2P to keep the pressure going. I don't think that should be gone, but I think it should be higher risk. This might be very harsh but idfk man

-Master's Hammer not +26 on block. That's fucking ridiculous for a point blank move come on

-Make his damage modifier x1. This is probably too harsh, but I don't really feel that he should take less damage as a brawler type character. Yes I get he has poor defensive options but still

All of these might be nerfing him too hard, but at the very least I want It's Late shortened pls it's fucking dumb.

As for buffs, I don't think he needs very many, but:

-Increase the distance of his normal dash, or make it faster. This might make him too fast but fuck me his dash feels awful at longer than roundstart ranges.

-Keep the opponent closer on a K Mappa knockdown. This would have the added benefit of making the 5K link not feel so weird and strange.

As for SILLY FUN STUPID buffs I think he should have:

-Super Mappa Hunch is now 15+0 instead of 14+1, so at close range you can't block after the super freeze. I don't know if it hits full screen in 1 frame, but I want my XRD Dead On Time shenanigans back dammit.

-Last horizon now deals 300 damage. This is a cleaner number than 290.

-Last Horizon will now go full screen. It doesn't go any faster he just goes all the way full screen.

-Hand of Doom is actually invincible and gives you c.s links on counter-hit (make it like -8 instead of -7 to compensate)

-Pilebunker disregards the normal chip damage rules and can kill at any amount of health

-Counterhit Pilebunker gives the silly tumble for a full combo that it used to

All in all, I think Slayer is comfortably lower/middle-top tier. Am I downplaying because I love him and also am not good? Maybe. I've always hung out around floor 10 pretty comfortably before he came out, but I reached the Celestial Challenge for the first time EVER using him, so make of that what you will. I'd be interested to hear how you all feel about him.

The most important thing, though? He's really fun. I do just really like Strive and how it feels, but I find him very fun to play and play against. (The play against might change, I wanna learn Testament so we'll see how I feel later lmao)

Edit: After trying to learn Testament and going to open park and playing about 25 matches against a Slayer, some of my opinions have shifted:

-Obliterate Master's Hammer. Destroy it. Explode. +26 is stupid. At the VERY LEAST make it lower to the ground to you can actually c.s it or something

-Mappa is a ridiculously good way to get in lmaoooooooooo im just fucking dumbbbbbbb make that shit -2 and -3 NOW

-He doesn't need any buffs

I need someone better than me to weigh in on the matchup thing, cause it felt kinda even? I just don't know how to play Testament.

Very few characters earn actual hate from me because I don’t take anything that serious. But anyways, this is a long post. So under the cut it goes

Sae - Peach Girl. Beginning of my trust issues

MeiMei - JJK. Whole weirdo and a waste of a badass

Shou Tucker - FMA. Worst anime dad, hands down

Danzo - Naruto. Stole my boys eye, stole bug dilfs adoptive son, and a general coward that tried to act like he wasn’t

Yasui - 7 Seeds. makes my blood boil and I don’t care about his redemption

Hisoka - HxH. makes my ass itch

Zoldyck family (minus Killua and Alluka) - HxH. icky ass itches

Mr. Yashiro - Erased. Added stress to my life and subtracted a year or two because of it.

A slayer asking the Hashira for assistance on a mission nervously. Tanjirou, though none of the Hashira have objected, goes to stand.

Tanjirou: "I'd be happy to-" stopping abruptly, his face grimaces, hand on his stomach in pain. He felt okay, but now he doesn't feel too hot?

The Hashira: 😨😰

The sunshine gets sick and the whole butterfly estate turns into a mess, especially the Pillars minus Shinobu who knows exactly what to do and how to take care of him.

Honestly, she's a little bit smug because she can kick the others out whenever she wants and take care of Tanjirou herself.

The only thing that actually stops her from doing it is that Tanjirou keeps asking for the other Pillars so they all end up taking care of him, but under Shinobu's supervision.

Summary: It's an equation that needs to be solved: what to do to protect his son from Holtz. So maybe it's a good thing that Buffy seems so good at math now...

Or "Angel asks the Scoobies to come help him protect Connor from Holtz. And Angel realizes that while everything Buffy and Connor seems figured out, maybe some things between him and the Slayer still need to be equated."

Oneshot. Fluff. Romance. Bangel. Slight Angel and Connor (mentioned). And slight Buffy and Connor (mentioned). Buffy season 6/Angel season 3 AU.

Author's Note: So, I’m sure the timeline is messed up here: like I’m sure the Buffy S6 and Angel S3 timelines aren’t adding up at all, tbh, but shh. This fic is pretty soon after Xander left Anya at the altar. And right after that happens (no Seeing Red stuff or anything past that occurs), Angel calls Buffy and the Scoobies to come help him and the Fang Gang in L.A., in thinking that maybe Holtz is too much a threat to Connor, after all, and he could use their help. And they all do head to L.A. (minus Giles, obviously. And Spike, who thinks that he’s finally losing Buffy here, and wouldn’t be able to stand seeing her and Angel together. And also Anya, since Xander just left her). And Willow and Tara do get back together, and manage to work things out, though it’s no easy journey: that’s kind of the background for this fic.

Do the Math

"When did you realize that you love math, Buffy?" Angel asked the love of his life, while she sat doing Sudoku for sun in the Hyperion's lobby.

She was sitting in one of the circular, green seats that Angel had never entirely been able to figure out… because in some ways they seemed to not fit in with the Hyperion’s décor.

…And yet he’d always loved them with his whole heart, as they’d brought to mind of things like greenhouses—that he could never touch at the time of day he wished he could, but dreamed that he someday would be able to.

Angel had asked Buffy and her friends to come to the Hyperion when he could no longer deny to himself the threat that Holtz could be to his son. He knew that the Slayer would be able to help protect Connor as well as he could. So selfishly, he’d made a call to Sunnydale, asking Buffy if she was available.

When Angel had explained his reasoning, even though Angel knew the story of Connor’s conception had hurt Buffy, she had left without a second thought.

But it was only as he had been talking to her here since Buffy’s arrival, that he was learning he couldn’t have asked her to come at a worse time: he’d been able to see the tension in her shoulders the moment she had walked in.

According to Buffy, Xander had left his fiancée at the altar, Giles had left her, Dawn was a klepto-maniac, and Willow was addicted to magic—and had even gone so far as to do a memory spell on her girlfriend—that she’d only just forgiven her from.

And Buffy herself… she still seemed to be carrying everyone’s burdens as if they were her own, like she’d always done, but she still seemed as shaken as she had the night he’d first seen her when she came back (how Angel cursed himself for that awkward night and walking away). And he knew there was something about Spike… whenever he mentioned him, Buffy got a far-away look in her eyes and looked shamed and dead in the same breath.

But maybe he could make her feel better by bringing up this new thing that seemed to be bringing joy to her now, Angel thought. And so he carefully watched her face.

Buffy smiled, as she laid her work down for the moment, and gave Angel her one-word answer: "Factoring."

"Factoring?"

"What can I say? It's fun. And it finally clicked for me, when Willow sat down and tried to teach me it again after she and Tara broke up. I guess the other stuff is okay, too, like Order of Operations. And clearly, I like Sudoku… But mainly? It was Factoring."

Factoring. Huh. That was definitely interesting.

And when Buffy had mentioned how Willow had had to explain it to her again, it made the vampire remember how much Buffy had struggled with arithmetic in the past and just how much she’d hated it. More than once, she’d complained to him about it—wishing that Willow would realize that their study sessions were in vain, and that she “was never going to need this stuff in the real world,” and that she’d rather be shopping for shoes or, better yet, making out with him.

But this stuff was needed—something Buffy had eventually figured out and appreciated it. And she wasn’t the only one who was going to need it, Angel realized. Someone very special to him was. But how to even begin teaching him it?

"Buffy… I shouldn't be asking this," Angel started, but knowing that he was going to, anyway, because he loved Connor and would always want the best for him. He also adored the idea of Buffy being around Connor more than he wanted to admit. "But when Connor gets older, do you think you could tutor him? I know he's going to need to know Factoring, Algebra, and what have you for school… and it's all lost on me."

For just a second, Angel thought he saw a flash of pain in Buffy's eyes, but it was gone before he could really be sure he'd seen anything at all.

"I mean… that's going to be years from now, Angel," the Slayer voiced, decidedly not looking at him, he noticed, as she continued to look at her workbook. "What are you saying? That you want me to drop back in from Sunnydale once Connor's school-aged?

"Because despite everything… I do plan on going back. If not for my sacred duty—because I’m kind of done with Sunnydale: Faith can handle it—then to check on Anya. I mean, I may not have always shown it, but she is my friend, and-"

Buffy was clearly babbling now… and though she hadn't voiced it, Angel knew what the question she wasn't asking was: what she deemed to be too dangerous here, even though he had offered something similar to her when they'd met after her resurrection. 'Or are you asking me to stay?' is what she really wanted to voice.

He moved towards her with vampire speed, from where he had been mostly watching her from the other side of the room, and silenced her with a finger to her lips and a shake of his head. "No, Buffy, I- Fuck, I really thought I was better at this… What I'm saying is, I'd want you to stay."

Buffy stared at Angel for a long moment after he'd spoken, and Angel wished he could stake himself for it. He wanted to believe that the Slayer was, perhaps, hard of hearing, but he knew that the opposite was true.

At once, he was taken back to when he had broken up with Buffy. She had said that she wanted her life to be with his, and he had said he didn't—meaning he didn't want her to ruin her life on account of him, even if selfishly he wanted her more than anything. But Buffy had taken it as him meaning he didn't want to be with her, and he hadn't corrected her, in thinking that that might finally be the thing to get her to finally stop fighting for them and to try to walk into the sunlight.

…But things had not gone as planned. And more than once, Angel had had to furiously ask himself just how much he'd hurt her, in assuming he knew what she needed.

"Buffy-" he started.

But Buffy was finally answering him. "Oh. I didn't realize that when you asked for our help--namely my help—in protecting Connor from Holtz… you were asking to get back together."

'I actually wasn't,' Angel thought. 'Because I did this the wrong way. And if I had been trying to get you back then—and I am now—I would have gone about it all way better… how you deserve to be treated. Especially after how I've hurt you before,' Angel thought but didn't say. Buffy may have been a wiz at math now, but he knew that this equation would just confuse her, and she might stake him for how poorly he'd planned things. And honestly, he would have deserved it.

Instead, he went with saying an equally terrifying, "And how do you feel about that, Buffy?"

"Like you're still Mr. Cryptic," Buffy answered, punching his arm in irritation. "And confused. I-I want to be with you, Angel.

"God, I should not be admitting that to you, after everything,” she muttered, upon standing up and pacing with her hands in her pockets, once again looking anywhere but at him. “Because I'm not exactly the schoolgirl you once knew.

“But at the same time,” and here, Buffy did find the strength to stop and look Angel in the eyes as she swallowed. But it seemed to him she also half-expected him to burn her at the stake after her words, “…you saw how I reacted to you when you showed up to apologize about Faith, and at my mother's funeral… and even when I got brought back, though I was a wreck then. My feelings for you, despite everything, haven't changed…

"But some other things have. And I just don't know if this is the best time right now, Angel. I left The Trio in Sunnydale to come help you, and we don’t have Faith out of jail yet to deal with it. I'll be there for you and Connor right now. I'll even be willing to teach him for you, but I-"

And that was fair. More than fair, Angel thought as he nodded his head. And Angel wanted Buffy to know that, so he moved forward and gave her a hug. And while he knew he loved her again—he always had, and he'd been stupid to think he ever couldn't or could forget that—he tried to keep his feelings out of it, and let it be the first ever just friendly hug between them.

Buffy seemed to appreciate it, as she disappeared into his embrace for a long moment, before breaking away.

"That's fine, Buffy," Angel promised her, once she was looking at him again. "That's more than fine. Thank you. It's selfish of me to think that now that I want to be in your life again, you'd automatically be ready for that. In some ways, maybe I have been taking you for granted."

Buffy didn't comment on that, which somewhat confirmed it for Angel—and even more everything else she'd been going through lately that was weighing her down: surely way more than he even knew about yet—but she also didn't let the moment end there, either, as she gathered up her things and began heading up the lobby’s main stairway:

For over her shoulder she said, "But don't give up on me, either, Angel… I mean, Buffy + Angel always equaled forever."

And, Angel, with a small smile spreading across his face, found that he could only agree with her there.

Author's Note: I thought of this one night when I was trying to think of what jobs Buffy could have in the future.

And I think if someone could explain math for her so that it clicked, something like this COULD be possible. It somewhat reminds me of myself. Like, I was pretty dang good at math, actually, when people would took the time to make it make sense to me.

I think this was initially supposed to end a wee bit happier, with them getting back together. But I feel like this kind of fits the S6 vibes better. Buffy’s just going through too much right now to dive straight back into the Bangel relationship. And it’s still pretty happy, because we all know they’ll find their way back to each other eventually. But, anyway.

I keep seeing tiktok influencers talking shit about Fairy Tail 100yq but for the wrong —and worst reasons like at this point the biggest problem isn’t coherence but the weird kinks included for fanservice. I couldn’t care less about living dragons in a universe where they’re all meant to be dead I could live with that, I don’t care about new dragon slayers appearing out of nowhere I can accept that too, but GRAY literally EATS Juvia ? this should be your main concern, not the fact that Igneel has a whole ass son or that FT became Dragon tail we dgaf.

Story wise (minus the FS) it isn’t great but it’s not as bad as some other canon spin offs imo.

Like I can’t count how many times I sighed reading FT 100yq chapters but at the same time I believe we were given some good things like the Erza x Laxus fight or a bigger insight on Jellal’s past which was nice too. We also got some funny moments like Gajeel and Juvia (my fav dynamic btw) investigating the new FT member and Gray calling out a misogynist (this was definitely not on my FT bingo list). All of that to say I don’t get why people continue reading if they dislike it that much (and i’m not talking about FS bc most of the ppl complaining are men who don’t care about the fanservice and dislike it for other reasons.)

While I believe everyone is entitled to share their opinion on media, I think there’s only so much you can do by complaining about a piece that can only carry on thanks to the initial material. Like…if it brings you more despair than joy you should probably stop reading and move on.

final thoughts on the ilw finale: abel edition (ch 23 spoilers below) @itlivesproject

Took a break from my self-made quest to find every possible way ILW could hurt me (I know, sick), to play my main Abel route. What a breath of fresh air it is to not see every character you’ve grown attached to not die a gruesome death lol

My approach for the finale: With my main routes, I wanted to stay true to what the game was hinting to be Rowan’s greatest desire (what they see when they enter the Power realm with Loha). Most of my routes ended up with Ro yearning for the mundane, yet comforting, life of a human. I was only able to organically achieve a shadow ending with my fwb!Joss route, and a mixed route with Abel as an LI. After unlocking most of the ways his story comes to end, I am finally ready to share my thoughts.

Frankly, I’m surprised that the majority of my main routes weren’t mixed. Out of all the three forms Rowan can take by the end- I personally enjoy them refusing to merge with either of their halves and remain as they are.

“That’s the thing. Everyone keeps telling me I’m not complete, that I need to come together with this person or that in order to be whole, but I don’t think I agree. I love the Power. I love humanity, too. I love my friends, I love my past, I love Abel. And I don’t think I need to lose any of that in order to be whole.”

Rowan coming to accept their identity feels the most true to how I as a player view them. I met Ro not as their human form nor the tiny wisp that grew enamored with humanity long ago. I met Ro, someone perfectly in between. The best-of-both-worlds ending. My Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Supernatural fantasies are coming true lol

Anyways, enough about Ro’s greatest desires. Let’s talk about Abel’s:

Abel’s wish to separate his life from the Power is consistent throughout the various endings you can achieve with him (barring the betrayal route- which leaves him vengeful, hurt, and pissed). By the looks of the epilogue, the gang, minus Jocelyn, choose to move on from their ghost (or should I say horror lol) hunting days. I haven’t played through the other LIs routes, so I can’t speak on their dynamic with each version of Ro quite yet. But it is safe to assume that as long as Ro wasn’t a hoe, the LIs will love them regardless of Rowan’s final form. Truly, this is a breath of fresh air after playing all of Matty’s variants😭

Exploring Abel’s relationship with mixed!Rowan post-blood moon ritual, we are met with a pair who are not completely aligned with what they want in life. While Abel is ready to move on, Rowan is forever tethered to their connection to the Power and the lifestyle it comes with. 

Rowan: “I... I can’t leave with you, Abel, not yet. Maybe not ever... I need to make sure people like Matthias don’t hurt it again... This is who I am, Abel, I think it always will be.”

The pair eventually settle on a compromise (as I imagine the other LIs will in their mixed!Ro endings). How long this set up works is ultimately up to the player to decide. Each of them are pursuing paths that leave the distance from Westchester to California between them. However, the potential for this distance to grow is likely, if not guaranteed. Abel’s passion for research/academia could take him far beyond the confines of California, especially as he advances in his career. Rowan will always go where the Power takes them.

For those who are familiar with Schitt’s Creek, it is entirely plausible that Abel and Rowan’s story could have an end akin to Ted x Alexis. Two people who grew together, love each other, realizing that they are moving in entirely different directions in life. Wanting the other to achieve all that they possibly can, they mutually decide to part ways.

If you play through a shadow!Ro end/Ro dies, you unlock this scene for Abel:   

Abel: “Maybe it was asking too much, but I wanted that life with you. I wanted a family, something more than this. I didn’t want either of us to be lonely anymore... I think I would’ve wanted a house. I don’t know if you wanted kids, but I always did. I guess we could’ve negotiated on that, since I technically already raised three.” 

Rowan and Abel having differing views on children wouldn’t be enough to drive them apart. Rowan’s inability to fully embrace that sort of ‘normalcy’ might. The life of hunting horrors leaves Ro pretty busy. We see this as they are unable to attend the memorial service with the rest of the gang because of yet another lead on a horror. And while Abel appears to have no qualms with their absence in the epilogue, them being unable to show up for the important moments over and over again could leave him feeling neglected. Their relationship is strong enough where I can imagine that they would be able to talk through these issues together. Still, it could prove to be challenging if they aren’t able to meet each other halfway. 

To sum things up: you are free to interpret how Abel and Rowan’s story beyond what is shown in the mixed!route epilogue however you want. While I did spend the majority of this post conjuring up ways they could grow apart as a couple, I still find these scenarios to be beautiful when stripped down to its essence. Why? Because I think they capture the sentiment shared here: 

Abel: “Being with you is what makes me happy.”

Rowan: “And you make me happy. But if we truly love each other, we won’t hold each other back.”

Abel, a man who has had to put his needs aside for the sake of his family, ending up with someone who lets him put himself first for a change? A chance to give Abel his best possible chance towards happiness- even if in the end it may not be with Ro. The way that no matter what happens, they will love each other to the very end. I couldn’t think of a better send-off for our favorite archaeology professor♥♥

Needless to say, I really enjoyed the mixed!route. Onto some other miscellaneous thoughts: 

I may or may not do a whole thing for Connor x Devon, but in case I don’t: WE HAVE AN ENGAGEMENT FOLKS!! I needed to give Connor the happiest possible timeline in my main route- and seeing the two finally be able to build a life of their own was AMAZING someone hold me

Not to mention that their dirty thirty scene may have reminded me of a certain fic I made involving a sandwich (fdjkhfsd). Fortunately for them, they got to go all. the. way. But we been knew Connor x Devon were horndogs

Speaking of dirty thirty scenes- Abel’s will be living in my head rent free

BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER

Season 1

Started watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer and minus the quality of videos, I am really enjoying it. Have to push past some cliche scenes but oh well, it was 1999 so it's not really that cliche.

Anyway, here's my opinion on Season 1 after finishing.

Buffy is my girl. Like Damn woman, get them all. You look hot doing it.

Angel is hot, wish he was more in the show. His entrance scene was damn 🔥. Wish we had more of his scenes. I don't really have much of an opinion of him as we saw too little of him. Still, trust him, loner, brooding, mysterious and he needs to stop disappearing. Reminds me of stefan(my man). His past is gonna be interesting.

Buffy and Angel have got chemistry. No questions there. There first kiss... God damn🤤. I felt things man. It has to be the superior ship and we'll see(although I know how it ends though) .

Xander is okay, he's funny and a good side character. I don't have much of an opinion on him.

I love willow, she's funny and a geek and I tend to have a thing for funny, smart, beautiful but don't know it, kind of woman(I am not bi yet lol). Looking forward to what they do with her character and to get into her life.

Xander and willow, I mean it's gonna happen at least once, although I don't think they're the end game. They have a good platonic chemistry though and I love their friendship.

I love the watcher(giles). What an awkward mess.

Love the buffy × willow × xander trio. Excited to watch it.

I can't stand cordelia and I am gonna go ahead and predict it's not gonna happen for me lol. I know most people love her and she's iconic in some way(not sure) but I can't deal with her. She's just not for me. I am just so over the whole mean girl who everyone loves for some reason but she's just a really nasty bully and I know that she's never gonna have any consequences. I hate characters like her.

Let's see... What else, love the plot lines, they're decent and we have a good start here and I've a feeling it's gonna get much better from here.

Overall a fairly good start, decent plot lines, love the characters so far(minus cordelia).

Did I mention I can't stand cordelia.

Anyway, maybe I missed something but that's the gist of it.

On to season 2. Will be live (not really live) posting as I watch.

Like a flash, metal knuckles punched one strike after another against the woman's blade. A close combat dance, that had went on for what felt like hours. Hakuji was happy to train a fellow slayer, if time and strength was provided. Nicolette was a strong slayer, compared to most of the weaklings in their ranks that weren't in the rank of a hashira. If he managed to train her and give her a chance to get stronger, even better.

"Hah, your foot work is beginning to get sloppy! Better not be getting tired on me!" His movement stopped as he pushed against her blade, one leg further in than the other. To talk and tease in the middle of a spar, was a mistake as he felt a kick to the back of his knee that sent him sprawled across the courtyard. Bonus; his effort to teach her to use her full body to fight, and not only her blade was a success. The minus; He was now embarrassingly wrestled against the dirt.

No matter the situation, Hakuji struck fast as he punched the blade to the side, and sent it flying to the side. His other hand used the moment to lift up to her throat, as the blade of his knuckle dusters pressed near her skin. A grin was on the Hashira's lips as soft pants came out of his mouth. Sweaty, and well used sparring session did wonders, but she was far from truly winning, in his books.

Well, until he felt that light squeeze of her thighs along his waist, and the whole position slowly turned gears in his head. Ah-- She was sitting... right on top of him, and if anyone walked on them right now, would have many questions. "Good work, but I think, you still have a way to go to fully beat me." He praised, trying to ignore the position and the excitement from the spar session, that only made him want to do things that made the tips of his ears slowly burn with redness. Not to mention, the sight above him was... hot, not that he should stare, which is why he shifted his blue eyes to the side.

Why the Ending of KNY is So Sad

Demon Slayer, or Kimetsu No Yaiba, is one of the most popular anime/manga series. Written by Koyoharu Gotouge, the series has amassed millions of fans and love. The series ended with Muzan being defeated, but at a very devastating price. All but 2 of the Hashiras were dead, the two being Giyuu & Sanemi, and thus the Demon Slayer Corps was disbanded. There was no need for it, after all, since the demons were defeated. Nezuko was turned back into a human and Tanjiro recovered from his almost-transformation into a demon. The extended ending is Chapter 205.5, where the series shows the reincarnations/future generations of the characters, but that’s not the ending I will be writing about.

To start this essay, I want to focus on the aforementioned Giyuu & Sanemi. The reason this detail makes me so sad is that they were the only Hashiras left. All the other Hashiras, their friends, died while fighting and never got to see if they won or not. They were left all alone, minus the other characters like Tanjiro and such. Giyuu had to feel this multiple times, this time and also when Sabito & Makomo passed away during Final Selection and he was the only one out of the three that survived. This is almost the same situation. This is also true for Sanemi, as his mother was turned into a demon and ate his family. He also technically felt the pain of losing a friend, except with Genya, his brother. He lost the chance to have a good relationship with him, at least, until they finally did. Because they both lost their families, they found a parental figure in Urokodaki (Giyuu) & Ubuyashiki (Sanemi), in my opinion. Sanemi and Giyuu are very similar because of this, which only makes this point sadder.

Another reason is the deaths of Obanai & Mitsuri, and honestly their characters in general, but that’ll be another essay. They died while professing their love in each other's arms. During this, Obanai said to Mitsuri that she made him feel like a normal boy. Given his background, this makes sense. He was the only boy to be born in his family for generations, and his heterochromia didn’t help his alienation. He was treated as if he was an alien, but Mitsuri didn’t. She loved him and he loved her. Just like Kaburamaru helped Obanai escape from his cell, Mitsuri helped him escape from his alienated feelings. His eyes, which were the reason why the snake demon his family worshipped let him live longer, were also loved by Mitsuri. She loved the way he looked at her with them. And Mitsuri, who felt she hadn’t contributed enough to the fight, was loved so much by Obanai. When Mitsuri told him this, Obanai told her how much she had helped him, in ways she didn’t even know about. Her lifelong dream was to get married, and she never did. But, they promised each other, they would marry if they found each other in another life.

The third reason why is that Nezuko is turned back into a human. The whole series, the reason behind every one of Tanjiro’s actions was to turn Nezuko into a human again. They were together the whole time and had to witness each other in pain. They helped each other and, though one of them was a demon, they continued to love each other. So when Nezuko was finally human again, it made the ending so great. All of Tanjiro’s (& others like Lady Tamayo's) efforts finally paid off. After years, they finally got to return to their normal lives, as two humans.

I will, for my final point, be talking about multiple things in this one paragraph, as they aren’t really enough to merit their own. Yushiro paints Lady Tamayo after her death, never once thinking of anything else but her. Kiriya Ubuyashiki, at only 8 years old, was left to be the head of his family after his father's death and forced to be in charge of the Demon Slayer Corps. Sanemi & Giyuu most likely would die soon after the ending of KNY, as their demon slayer mark would’ve made them die before reaching 25 years of age, and they’re both around 21 years old. Tanjiro turned back into a human because of Nezuko’s love for him. And finally, because it’s the end of demon slayer.

In conclusion, Kimetsu No Yaiba’s ending is very devastating, and not just because it’s the ending of an amazing series. It has brought me to tears multiple times and has not left my mind, even months after finishing it. I hope this essay was good and I hope it didn’t bring back too many painful memories. Who wants to hear a really random story about how me and my cousins went to war on a regular basis (and I may or may not have bit my cousin)?

No one? Alright, let’s go.

So, to understand this whole mess you might want to know the hierarchy of my mom’s side of the family. My cousin Jesse P is the oldest, he’s like four years older than me, I am the second oldest, Micah P is after him and is Jesse’s brother, he’s a few months younger than me, Judah L is next, then my sister Sadie, and then Judah’s brother Peter, and then my brother Henry. Except Henry isn’t really a player in the game since I was around four to six when the war took place, so he’s like really little.

I was Jesse’s “partner” and Sadie was with Micah, since both of the L’s were too young to really play. When the cousins come over twice a year we would usually hang out with them. Now, one fateful day, Sadie and Micah took it upon themselves to push a rock into my grandmother’s fish pond. My grandmother didn’t catch them, but she had an inkling that it was them, so she asked them. And they had the NERVE, the absolute AUDACITY to say that some beavers pushed it in. So since then, Sadie and Micah have been known as the beavers. That was how the first faction got started.

The second faction came in 2016. I know this because this is the year the Trolls movie came out, and I am ashamed to admit that it was my hyperfixation for almost a year. Anyways, we all went to Toys R Us (RIP) every Christmas when the cousins were around. Jesse got a Robin (from Teen titans) costume. Now I obviously had no idea who robin was because my brain somehow did not connect the Batman robin and the costume. Anyways, I got a Poppy (from the trolls movie) headband, and me and Jesse both became the superhero squad known as the robins.

Me and Jesse had been fighting the Beavers long before we became the robins. I’m pretty sure the biting incident came before that. But yeah, we regularly went to war. And by war, I mean aggressive roughhousing. Like I would absolutely demolish this guy. Sometimes the L’s would join in (mostly Judah) but usually it was just the Ps and My family.

Eventually, the fighting got so bad that they had to pull me off of Micah like some sort of dog, and then they (the parents) took it upon themselves to ‘unite’ the factions and make them the Puppies, which was really stupid to me even back then.

Eventually, on a Disney trip in 2018, me and Micah started to get along, like some sort of enemies to friends thing. Now we’re not completely friends, but we bonded over our shared love of anime lmao, he’s really into demon slayer, and I think he watched SxF. Ah well, just goes to show how stupid these squabbles really were. But, hey, it was kind of fun to play games like these, minus the getting ripped to shreds part.

Hope you didn’t get too bored, my mom’s side of the family isn’t nearly as complicated as my dad’s side. I might share more about the weird things about my family, since I don’t think any of us are normal.

I assumed this would be one of those gore-is-funny books but I was curious & I need daft things for when I've too little brain for something serious. And there I was, watching The Tudors and just in between reading Bring Up The Bodies and The Mirror and the Light, and it seemed like the moment. XD)

Anyway, it was that, with bonus werewolf sex (tw, I deeply, deeply wish I'd had: that it would start off with Thomas More getting raped by a female werewolf.)

Tbf Author did dedicate it "For Granny, with apologies for all the rude and horrid bits." (about which i also have questions) But still. I didn't know that was what they meant!

Anyway, it's Tudor England, but with werewolves (wolfen) and also witches and demons, which means there are also some self-appointed witchfinder characters (Agatha and Hob Hoblet) wandering about. There is a fair bit of violence/gore as expected, and the main plot is Henry being wolfed and trying to use that against the werewolves (via hate as they killed his baby son, so, like I said: gore warnings.)

But basically:

Henry VIII - business as usual, except werewolf, and getting wolfier by the day. (Bonus points for complaining about everyone around him being called Thomas at one point.)

Thomas Wolsey - has to deal with the Vatican anti-werewolf squad and semi-supernatural ambassadors. On the plus side, no downfall, on the minus side, he accidentally misplaces Thomas More for most of the book and ends up killed by a werewolf.

Anne Boleyn - also wolfed. Better or worse? idk.

Jane Seymour - On the upside, badass Jane the Werewolf Slayer. (On the downside, gets devoured in coda. whoops.)

Thomas Cromwell - Mr Nearly Not Appearing In This Book. While everyone else is stuck in the werewolf plot, he's off with Cranmer arranging a quickie divorce in mere months off-screen. (seems legit.)

Thomas Howard (Norfolk) & Thomas Boleyn - busy doing much werewolf hunting and also when the Hoblets arrest Thomas More for being out in the woods with a lady werewolf and a peasant are just. No. we don't know this guy, obv he's not Sir Thos More, lolol, what a liar. feel free to kill him, byeeee.

which means:

Thomas More - gets stuck with the Hoblets who want to execute him for consorting with werewolves, but once they realise he is More, they want to do it in a big town and make money out of it, and drag him about while going to great lengths to keep him alive so they can execute him properly later. Agatha's extreme determination on this front = finding a for cure the sweating sickness when he gets sick, except by that time the whole executing thing is an embarrassing faux pas they don't mention, they're all family now ok.

Big upside: gets to escape and live with his family in Paris and not be executed thanks to the Hoblets' now deep lifelong committment to people not executing Thomas More unless its them.

So, yeah, the whole Hoblets & Thomas More thing was pretty fun It was daft, but easy going. And I've read more supposedly serious things that have a more cavalier attitude to history. Just take the author's warning to their granny with all the seriousness it deserves. Not really for the squeamish, like me.

Top marks for the cover, though, lol.

Thing I found staring at me on the local supermarket charity bookstall one day. Obviously, it looked so amazingly terrible I had to pay my 50p and take it home with me.

you know how dracula untold ended with drac meeting mina randomly and she looks just like his dead wife and all that? let’s take that moment and apply it to kanthony: the bridgertons are immortal (it doesn’t matter how, it just is. edmund still dies and being immortal and all it fucks anthony up of course) and during 1814 he loves in love with and marries the mortal katherine sheffield. she dies of old age and anthony swears off love for the rest of eternithy. until he meets kate sharma in 2022 and he knows that her soul is his kate and it’s this whole thing where he tries not to fall for her because he knows what it likes to lose her and kate falling for this obnoxious man despite herself and then the angst when she realizes that he’s immortal and the whole “do you love me for me or because i’m your dead wife reincarnated?” and just. it could be complicated but it could also be VERY VERY VERY good.
