Messmer is one lanky tall boy so when he stands up after sitting or laying down for a long time you'll hear every joint in his body crack and pop. it always happens all at once too so it just sounds like someone getting fucking crushed, but nope, just Messer having one of those leg shaking stretches in the morning.
bonus; he cracks his knuckles all the time.

okay i will catch up on my one piece updates (specifically for dressrosa and zou and parts of whole cake) BUT! there’s this really heart wrenching part that im on and i need to share it
ep 793:
baby sanji: “they hurt me, father
please help me. can you tell them to stop?”
judge: “why should i?“
sanji: “father?”
judge: “if you are not a fighter and you are unable to stand up for yourself, i have no obligation to help you. i gain nothing by raising you.”
sanji: “why would you say that?”
judge: “you’re a disgrace to the family name!”
THAYS SO FUCKING SAD???????
little baby sanji asking “why would you say that?” because that’s his FATHER who’s supposed to protect him and treat him just the same as his other siblings and he doesn’t understand why he would say something so hurtful :((
HIM REACHINF OUT FOR HELP AND BEGGINF HIS FATHER TO HELP HIM AND TELL HIS BROTHERS TO STOP BULLYING AND BEATING UP ON HIM
ONLY TO BE MET WITH “well you’re not doing anything to stop them so why should i?”
LIKE WHY ARE YOU DOING MY BABY LIKE THAT??? HES 5 LEMONS TALL!!!! HE LIKES TO BAKE AND COOK AND GIVES FOOD TO MICE AND HES A KIND BOY HOW COULD YOU SAY THAT TO HIM :(((((
LIKE LOOK AT LITTLE BABY SANJI. MY SON, HES JUST A WEE BABE

Movie theaters have gotten so bad with not supervising kids who sneak into adult movies that I have to go to an 11am showing of Longlegs on a Thursday because I’m sure no one will be there, since most morning showings are empty, especially for horror movies.
Like first of all the rules state that people under the age of eighteen can’t be on their property without an adult or legal guardian after 6pm. So why the hell was there an entire group of 15-16 year olds in my 8pm showing of the definitely rated R movie In a Violent Nature ?
Why was there a group of pre teens at the 7pm showing of Late Night With the Devil ?
Why was there a group of unsupervised kids at the showing of Lisa Frankenstein, where granted it was 4pm but it was PG-13 and none of those kids have parents with them but me, a 21 year old adult had to be carded just to get my ticket ? And I admit I did take my 16 year old cousin with me to see it but I was her adult supervision so we weren’t breaking the rules
Like even when I went to go see the Mario movie at 10pm at night, teenagers shouldn’t have been there because it was 10pm and they’re not allowed on property without adults but they were
And like I’m not trying to be a Karen but I wouldn’t have a problem with it if they weren’t so loud and noisy and obnoxious and disruptive. Like when I went to go see In a Violent Nature, a relatively quiet movie, the teenagers kept being obnoxious and laughing really loudly and making fart noises and letting out loud belches thinking it was funny, Lisa Frankenstein, they were being loud and obnoxious and on their phones, Late Night With the Devil kept loudly shouting “What the fuck !” and just laughing at inappropriate moments and even at the Mario movie they were throwing popcorn at each other and on their phones, recording and being loud
Like I genuinely wouldn’t have a problem if they would just behave or had parental supervision. But it’s getting to the point where I’m starting to advocate having ushers inside the movie theater again to monitor people who are being disruptive.
And I think half the problem is that most of the staff at my movie theater are teenagers. So they probably don’t care enough to ID people or they’re letting their friends in to see rated r movies and I would actually prefer them having adults run the ticket station and monitor the remote ticket station and have the teens work concessions and clean up to help curve these problems and after 6pm or 7pm or even 8pm, it should be an all adult staff for the late night showings of movies. Like I’m actually waiting for the day where kids go back to school so that I can go back to late night showings of movies on weekdays without worrying about disruptive and unsupervised children who lack movie theater etiquette
I don’t know. Am I being unreasonable? Because every time I rant about it to family they always go “it’s not that serious” and make fun of me for being mad that my movie experience is being interrupted and my mom always says “well you take your cousin and your brother to the movies” but they don’t understand that im an adult supervising them and they also behave.
When my cousin and I went to go see Lisa Frankenstein whenever she got a phone call she’d leave the theater and answer the phone outside and wouldn’t return until the call was done and when I took my brother to see Godzilla Minus One and Godzilla and Kong the most he came to being disruptive was when it was a really intense scene and he either was so overcome with emotion he stood up out of his chair in cheered which I let him do because everyone else did it too or when he started bawling his eyes out because he couldn’t believe what he was seeing and it was his first time ever seeing a Godzilla movie in theaters and I have no doubt that he’ll have another moment like those when I take him to see Transformers One, his first Transformers movie in theaters and Alien Romulus, his first Alien movie in theaters, because whenever it’s one of his hyperfixations and interest he gets really excited and can’t help but to overflow with emotion despite being a kid who really doesn’t do emotions and doesn’t like talking about his feelings.
I don’t know. This rant got out of hand. Just let me know if I’m over reacting or being unreasonable

There ain't no way people are calling the new upcoming Avatar series "woke" because the avatar is a black character with a missing leg. Don't y'all remember TOPH? Our badass, blind, Asian earth-bender or nah? Or Teo??? He was in a wheelchair.

Noodling on an "Oops! Back In Time!" story idea where the Straw Hats sail through a Grand Line anomaly or whatever and wake up as they were about thirteen years in the past.
Robin is seventeen, still on the run in West Blue. She'd wake up, run down the list of her nakama to decide who needs help first: Franky and Jimbe are grown men already, they're fine, they can handle themselves. The East Blue crew are all little kids. To the best of her knowledge the tragedies that shaped their lives haven't happened yet and won't for a while. They're safe for now.
Chopper is a baby reindeer, probably hasn't eaten his fruit yet. Brook is currently unreachable to her, without a ship or a crew, but Franky is right there in Water 7 with a fleet of battleships that he needs to get rid of before they can be used to frame Tom. Maybe she can assume he'll take care of it.
Sanji is still in Germa kingdom. He's not safe at all.
Robin, who only looks seventeen, pulls out her mad skills as a spy and top-tier pirate and member of the actual Revolutionary Army and hustles to North Blue in record time, snapping necks and serving cunt the whole way. She infiltrates the fuck out of Germa 66 and is on the palace flagship before you can say Security Clearance. Robin's not stupid enough to dangle the poneglyphs or the Ancient Weapons in front of Judge: that's a carrot he would never stop chasing. No, she claims to have details of Vegapunk and Caesar's work on artificial devil fruits, counting on spite to get her through. It does. Robin was at Punk Hazard and Dressrosa and Wano: she knows enough details to make it plausible, and she's a trained academic to boot. She can make it sound right, even if it's not her field, even if it's made-up nonsense that will hopefully have Judge chasing his own tail for years.
Meanwhile, every night she's sending eyes and ears all over the palace looking for the missing third prince. Officially, the kingdom is still in mourning for the double tragedy of losing their Queen and one of the princes in quick succession. Robin cannot find any trace of grief in Judge or his remaining children, even when she's invited to dine with the royal family (there are still two empty chairs at the table, and she's ushered into one of them as though it was nothing. Luckily, she's had decades of keeping calm in the face of casual brutality to perfectly hone her poker face).
It doesn't take her long to find the stairs going down, down into the dark. And there's a dungeon at the bottom, a barred cell containing an eight-year old child who looks so much smaller than his brothers. He's covered in bruises and there's a metal horror wrapped around his head and casual brutality be damned, there are two wolves inside Robin right now and one of them wants to sit down and weep and the other one wants to snap Judge's neck and then tear this castle down brick by brick. Except. Tiny Sanji is doing a one-handed handstand in the middle of his cell. It's a bit wobbly, and he tumbles off-balance when he sees her, but there's nothing wobbly about the smile on the little she can see of his face when he runs to her.
"Robin-chwan!" he chirps, hugging her through the bars. "I knew I couldn't be the only one who came back! I'm so lucky to be rescued by such a dashing lady!" He peers at her through the helmet, eyes huge and blue and earnest. "You got here so fast! Who else is with you? Are you OK?"
And it's just so Sanji, who knows as well as she does where the rest of the crew is-better, probably-to think that she'd go to anyone else before coming here. As though his problems could wait while everyone else is taken care of first.
"Now that I've found you I'm quite alright, Sanji. The crew is just you and me for now, but I'm sure we'll soon change that."
He does a little spin of delight at having her all to himself, and it's the simple glee of a small child spending time with a favourite person. Robin smiles, and retrieves the keys, and holds his tiny hand all of the way out of the castle as he chatters about how amazing she is and who they'll go to find next. They sail away, leaving the palace in flames behind them.

Another thing that gets me about Pharma's situation is a personal headcanon related to the way real life militaries work (I used to be really into the US military, don't throw tomatoes at me I stopped wanting to join it a long time ago) is that it's considered pretty much standard protocol to retrieve the bodies of fallen soldiers unless it's absolutely impossible. A literal "nobody is left behind" attitude.
Now granted, the LL isn't really acting in a military capacity because the war is over.
But I like to imagine that part of why Pharma felt so betrayed was because standard Autobot procedure would've been for any known missing/lost soldiers to be checked for, to try and find their body to confirm their death if nothing else. But the Autobots just left Messatine and left Pharma alone without even bothering to check if he lived or died. So to Pharma, it feels as if after all his years of serving the Autobots dutifully, they couldn't even do the bare minimum duty of looking for his body to confirm his death or god forbid give him proper funeral services.
Incidentally, this headcanon will be the premise for a "Pharma gets brought onto the Lost Light as a prisoner instead of getting left on Messatine" AU fic. With the justification being that Magnus hears about the Delphi situation and is like, wait you guys just left but the Autobot Code says we have to look for the body blah blah and I guess he acts annoying enough about it that someone goes looking for Pharma's body and finds him still alive.
INCIDENTALLY-incidentally, I think the most likely canon answer for "whether Pharma fell or flew to his death" is that Pharma fell. We see on screen that the Red Rust's symptoms activate within minutes of being triggered and that it renders victims practically nonfunctional after only a short amount of time (limbs and the entire body slowly disintegrating). So if Pharma had transformed, he would've activated the rust and died very quickly, especially since he wouldn't be able to go back to Delphi and access actual medical equipment.......and had his hands cut off so he was physically incapable of tending to himself anyways.
Pharma has thrusters on his heels that probably wouldn't require transformation to activate, so my headcanon is that Pharma was able to cushion his fall enough to not die, but probably still broke his legs and was in too much pain/practically immobile and couldn't crawl to find any help. This would also align with Pharma saying that Tyrest found him "sleeping in the snow" and Tyrest calling Pharma "a disease waiting to happen", implying that Pharma was infected with the Red Rust but hadn't actually triggered its effects yet.
