OP Men and Their Kids

Note: Hey, this is something I wrote randomly one day instead of paper I needed to work on. :) Don't worry, the paper was finished and turned in. I will also fully admit I have baby fever at this point in my life, I just gotta get a man lol. These are just some headcanon blurbs about a couple OP men and their kids, how many they'd have, the genders, that's all! Hope you like it!

Part Two Here!

Ace has a daughter, then another three years later. He's happy with just those two, he's a great girl dad and his oldest keeps his last name even if she gets married; he cries when his babies get married. If you can convince him to have one more, it'd be a third girl, you wouldn't even complain about it. Ace would cry again, holding her after she's born and happily introducing her to her big sisters. He sees himself, Sabo, and Luffy in the dynamics between his daughters. Your youngest daughter might be a crybaby, but she's the more adventurous of the three and her sisters are her biggest protectors. You're all his girls and Ace couldn't be happier.

Law has a son first, then five or six years later a daughter, both fully planned and prepared for. Then surprise, there's another little boy two years after your daughter, totally unplanned but welcomed all the same. All three are beyond loved, the daughter is definitely named Cora. Your daughter might be a little bit spoiled, but Law tries to even it out amongst the three, that pirate captain side of him coming out as he tries to make sure they're all even. On nights when the five of you settle in your living room, Law still can't believe how lucky and blessed he is to have such a loving family again.

Penguin has two daughters within four years of each other! Girl dad all the way, until the third child comes along and it's a boy, a total surprise, he'd fully expect another little girl. He finds it even more fun to have all three of them, the girls are protective of their baby brother, it almost reminds him of he and Shachi with Law when they were still teens. It's even more apparent how your children parallel that relationship, when your youngest daughter, at six years old, brings your two year old son to you when he's crying from a nightmare, you're both able to comfort and quell his tears. Penguin feels lucky to have all of you, and wants nothing more than for you to all be safe and happy.

Sanji! Has a son AND daughter first, a cute little set of twins! He dotes on them and gives them all the attention they need. Eventually another little girl comes along, then one more boy a couple years after her. Sanji loves them all, but his girls do get just a tad more attention at times, especially once they realize that giving him puppy dog eyes net them whatever they want. Your youngest son attaches to him like glue, wanting to be with Sanji all the time, and he can see the similarities in how alike the two are, minus the abuse of course, and it makes him want to protect your youngest son from the world at times.

Zoro has a son, one that isn't planned at all. He hadn't even expected to have kids until this little baby boy that looks just like him comes along. After that, he expects that to be it. No more kids, just the one, just your son, until not even three years later you're pregnant again, with a little girl that's just as unplanned. Everyone is shocked, but when she's born, Zoro is instantly wrapped around her tiny finger and she's spoiled rotten by him. Your kids are both loved beyond belief though, both learning how to use a sword as soon as they're big enough to do so. Zoro is the one to convince you to have one more when your daughter is about five, and its a set of twin boys that make you swear off more kids in the end. They also start learning to use the sword one day, your third child falling into the three sword style that just inflates Zoro's pride even more. And yes, his daughter would be named Kuina.

Just Sibling Things - Vinsmoke Edition (side of ZeffSora and ZoSan)

Just some headcanons in a Modern AU where the Vinsmokes are a regular family trying to live together under one roof. Most of these are drawn from my experience as the eldest sister with three younger siblings lol

Some important notes:

Judge and Sora are divorced, and Sora won custody over the kids. Later on, Sanji would work part time at the Baratie and introduce Sora to Zeff, and the two of them fall in love. Zeff becomes their new dad :3

All the kids sans Yonji are working. They wanted to give their mom a good life so she wouldn't have to work a day in her life. Here are my headcanon jobs for them:

Reiju works as a chemist with a specialization in poison. Ichiji is upper management in some tech company and Niji works as a sort of electrical engineer for them. Sanji is still a sous chef at the Baratie. Yonji is bouncing between part time hustles, he's still figuring himself out.

On to the headcanons!

Sanji is the early bird of the family and often cooks breakfast for the rest of them. Ichiji is the chronic workaholic night owl. They scare each other from time to time, when Sanji is going downstairs to cook, and Ichiji is heading up to sleep. Sanji worries about Ichiji a lot, so Ichiji allows himself to be fussed over and fed breakfast before sleeping.

Reiju is known as the pretty, levelheaded sister compared to her hotheaded brothers. She prefers avoiding conflict while her brothers often start them. The only exception is when her brothers are put in any danger. One time, she came to pick up Niji from the bar and found him on the losing end of a bar fight. Reiju picked up a chair and started swinging. Nobody hurts her little brothers 😤

Sanji bakes his brothers a cake for practice, but instead of eating it right away, Ichiji, Niji, and Yonji fight about splitting it evenly three ways. Ichiji busts out a ruler to slice the cake perfectly in three, but Niji wants to rock paper scissors, and Yonji wants to fistfight over it. In the end, Sanji slices it for them perfectly and receives zero complaints.

But then he serves drinks. "yonji has more juice than me" "oh for fuck's sake"

Yonji is the type of brother who'd barge into your room, stand at your door, and stare at you before suddenly bodyslamming you on your bed. Reiju is the frequent victim. It gets worse when he picks up judo and decides to use the rest of them as training dummies. Sanji is the only one who's figured out how to counter him, but even then Yonji can pick him up cleanly.

Sanji is Zeff's favorite child. Don't tell the others.

One time, Niji dropped by the Baratie for lunch and kept bothering Sanji. He ended up accidentally smacking Sanji too hard, and Sanji started crying. Niji panicked and begged Sanji to shut up. "I'll let you hit me back! Just shut up!" He resorted to bribery too, but it's too late. Zeff heard Sanji crying and is on a warpath.

Speaking of parents on a warpath, Reiju has never been more terrified of Sora than when she accidentally said 'shit' and a toddler!Ichiji repeated what she said.

They generally don't give a shit about each other's romantic lives until Sanji started dating Zoro, and suddenly they have very strong opinions over Sanji's standards in men. (Zeff and Ichiji bond over their mutual dislike of Zoro and they can be seen glaring daggers at him whenever he visits Sanji.)

If they ask nicely, Reiju is always more than willing to spoil her little brothers. They often have to pay her back in favors, though (minus Sanji, who is her secret favorites).

Yonji often feels insecure about his career compared to his successful sublings, but they’re all very supportive of him. A traditional 9-5 isn't suited for their baby brother, and they’re not going to force him into it.

Ichiji is very protective of his sister and baby brothers. He used to stand in front of them to shield them from Judge when things got bad. He doesn't do it as often nowadays since they left, but sometimes Sanji would unconsciously grab Ichiji's hand when he's nervous, and Ichiji would just squeeze Sanji's hand.

They work very well together! It's mostly seen during Mothers Day and Father's Day. Sanji cooks breakfast in bed, Niji makes coffee, Reiju buys flowers, Ichiji, and Yonji plan a day out for the family.

The quadruplet's have two birthday parties. One that's celebrated with their respective friend groups, and one with the family at the Baratie. Zeff has perfected the art of combining four preferences into one menu. (Also, Sanji has to be held back from helping cook his own birthday meal.)

Sometimes, when Ichiji's insomnia is bad, the rest of the siblings take the next day off and just stay up with him. They just talk and eat snacks, waiting for Ichiji's eyes to droop so Yonji can carry him to bed.

ohmigosh i love boa!sanji. love transfem sanji in general but god this baby of amazon lily is adorable. sanji aint taking no shit from a man for her gender or looks (hancock made sure sanji knew that) and hates slavery not just for her past but for her sisters. and sanlu <3 i love sanlu too and its so funny next to hancocks crush. sanji finds it hilarious that the one man hancocks ever liked is sanjis boyfriend lol what a perfect little sister she is

how does sanji meet the strawhats? i find it hard to believe she'd leave amazon lily for a frivolous reason, but maybe she left to accomplish her dream and hancock let her because she knew sanji was meant to be more than a princess, she was a pirate at heart too. and what about sanji cooking? what kind of cuisine does she end up specializing in?

oh and sanji growing up the baby yet again <3 did it take her a while to warm up to the boa sisters bc of her bad experience as royalty or did she look at hancock and see her mother? must have been so relieving for her to be seen as a girl too

germa tries to kidnap sanji for the wedding as the groom. the snake princess shows up and turns all of the vinsmokes (minus reiju) into stone. puts judges head on a spike too. she brings reiju back to amazon lily and the two end up getting very close!

She's probably looking for the All Blue and winds up in Baratie like in Fishman!Sanji. She doesn't listen to Zeff or his views on women and will actively fight him on it. Boa wasn't pleased since they don't leave Amazon Lily but she's not going to hold the baby back. It wouldn't be fair.

Sanji took a while to warm up to being royalty again and doesn't really know how to be a princess, she was raised a soldier and then a prince. It also is very different because she isn't bullied or anything so Sanji is waiting for a long time for the other shoe to drop. It doesn't, no one hits her or yells at her. Just gently correcting her with soft hands and eyes.

I feel like Sanji knows how to cook almost everything. She specializes in pasta specifically but Sanji is great at all aspects of cooking and baking. It's Sanji. Also when she's dragged to Germa and looking at her birth family who is looking back? She's the spitting image of Sora and the kids don't know how to act because it's Sanji but also she looks so much like Mom? Reiju might cry and I am part of the wholly 124ji get emotions eventually and Sanji looking like Sora probably just kinda breaks that part of them.

When Boa shows up to Germa and first runs into Niji and Reiju who are staring at her as she stares at them. When they ask who she is Boa says she's here for Judge's head because he hurt her baby. Suddenly Boa is leaving a falling kingdom with Judge's head and four new people.

*immediately pounces on you to talk about CoraLaw bc no one else does anymore (at least, not on Tumblr and not English speakers)* I wanna know so bad how adult Law and Cora would interact bc that'd seem so interesting. Especially on a Cora Lives AU. Imagine coming back to life to find out the boy you saved turned out to be a pirate and a(n) (ex)warlord but also a doctor slash (advanced, bc of his devil-fruit lmao) surgeon. It was probably what most would expect what Law would occupy when he was given the devil-fruit (minus the whole pirate and warlord thing I guess) but at that time all Cora expected and hoped what law would be was free. And thinking of that, Cora would realise just how much Law had grown and how he's far from the kid he was then and how little he knows about the man (not that he knew much about Law even when he was a kid anyway, both their pasts were a touchy subject for them but they did get to know each other a little bit and got close, and at that time that was enough for both of them. They didn't need to know about each other's past or something to love and care for each other. I'm not saying your past defines you but sometimes it kinda does. Not fully, no, but it does help shape you into what you are now). And Cora realises that he missed out on so many things. They both wanted to live together, fully and freely. But Law spent 13(?? Or so) years without him but also, Law hadn't been exactly free, not when Doflamingo was alive and Cora-san's death was a wound that will never be healed. Yk what I'm spitting nonsense at this point and I'm probably projecting but yuh... I just badly wanna know how adult Law and Cora would interact when Cora steps into the light again (AKA brought back to life lmao).

Argh I wanna talk about them but I don't know what to say!!!! These idiots make me cry and sob and scream and smile and laugh and I cannot get them out of my head.

But oh! Regarding of their relationship dynamics, I do love the idea of Law being so openly devoted to Cora (and also possessive and obsessed but the latter is almost a fact that he doesn't even need to so anything or say anything for anybody to notice. I mean, look at this guy. He has tattoos dedicated to his lover. The Jolly Roger on his ship is dedicated to his lover. One of his techniques is dedicated to his lover. He steals hearts because his lover's name is Corazon which means heart in Spanish. Yes the last is a HC of mine but idc he'll still be obsessed even when my HC is removed lol). Idk if Cora would leave a kiss mark on anywhere on his skin he'd leave it there until it gets accidentally (and only accidentally, if anybody tries to wipe it off he'd replace their heads with a mop) wiped off. Cora would also be open about their relationship and would proudly gush about his lover who grins when he's kissed on the nose and could cuddle whenever Cora wants to (then he'd introduce said lover to the people and they're a bit shocked to see a 6 foot tall emo looking mf—). They'd fr be the Mom and Dad of the Heart Pirates. But that doesn't make them any less troublesome lmao.

...I had another thought pop up in my head and I— sigh... thinking about Strawhats meeting Cora and him and Sanji bonding over make-up (implied Zosan. Yes I did just imply Zosan without saying anything that could imply Zosan. I'm brilliant. Also implied Genderfluid Sanji. I love my HCs). And also— what. What does that have to do with– sorry, I was talking to my brain bc it suddenly brought Cross Guild Polycule (+ Shanks) in too. I remembered a fanart where Crocodile, Buggy and Cora were talking about jewellery and make-up while their significant others (Mihawk, Shanks and Law) are staring intensely at them xD not sure if that was a ship fanart tho! Also, I made it into Cross Guild (+ Shanks) polycule bc I can *blinks cutely*. So yeah. Just Bottoms bonding over treasure, jewellery, cosmetics and maybe their lovers (Pls we don't get enough Bottom Cora fics I am begging on my knees for them—).

My brain caught on one of the points you made about adult Law and Cora—like, how surprised Cora would be at Law being a pirate. Maybe, after only really having Doflamingo as an idea of what pirates are like, Cora is a little... not disappointed, but like, worried when he finds out. Part of that worry goes away when he sees that Law isn't cruel. But he does slowly understand that, like you said, Law wasn't totally free after living with all that anger and guilt. I think I saw a post a while ago that talked about how Law never claims that he wants to be the King of the Pirates or anything—his "dream" was really just to avenge Cora, and might not have expected he'd survive after that. SOOOOOOO. I think once Cora totally catches up on who Law is as an adult (and realizes he still loves him :3c), he forces Law to sit down and have a conversation about what his new dream should be—it isn't about what he'd die for anymore, but what does he want to live for? Then, I guess the headcanons could be anything... maybe they decide they want to focus on bringing medical help to people who need it, and Law becomes some kind of renegade pirate doctor who goes into places the world government has quarantined... i don't know!! the world is their oyster!!

Ah... the two of them being lovey-dovey around the Heart Pirates........;w; I do also like the idea of them being a little secretive about it, at least maybe at first—like, Law is such a private person, and he doesn't want to "share" Cora after just getting him back... even if it's his own crew just seeing Cora blush or something, haha. And I love cute, open-with-his-feelings Cora, but also liked that rough side of him that would curse out useless doctors and stand up to Doflamingo—I could see him actually being more flustered than Law telling others about their relationship... Like, Cora is talking to Sengoku over transponder snail, and saying stuff like "yeah... I'm... kind of getting dinner with Law tonight. Yes, that Law—don't laugh, damn it, Dad!" and struggling to get his words out. Then Law comes up and takes the receiver from Cora to say, "Then we're gonna make out afterward. Have a nice evening," and hangs up.

my brain is unfortunately too obsessed full with ace/lu and lawcora to come up with anything fun for those other characters, but I'm sure someone out in the world could add on! I'd also love more fics for themmm. I know sometimes you have to "make your own food", but I'm still too deep in my Ace Era to do anything about it yet haha

​It's an AU where Germa is not an insane kingdom and there's no mad scientist weirdness, so Sanji just lives with his family and they all are princes the whole time. Dunno how they would end up meeting Nami TBH. Maybe Germa travels around the world for research like Noland. Still science-y and the whole snail ships and everything, but not evil.

Man, I think this is just generally an "everything is fine" AU, no World Government, no evil conspiracy, no drama. Luffy and crew (minus Sanji) are just adventuring for fun. Maybe treasure hunting in a general sense, but no One Piece.

Personality-wise... Well, they're nice(ish). Don't get any worse than Sanji's usual tantrums. Sanji is slightly less rough than canon too. Think something like his first appearance back in Baratie when he's waiter-ing for Fullbody. Or, in chapter 1 of Shokugeki no Sanji spinoff LOL. Still cooks, still kicks, otherwise acts sort of polite, but would say very insulting things.

Niji is still a loud nuisance, picky eater, a snob, similar to canon but not cruel. Something like this (that's a modern AU, but you get the idea). Squabbles about eating with Sanji all the time because all he wants are snacks/desserts.

Ichiji is stereotypically super princely in public eye, but kind of thug-ish when nobody's looking. He just talks in formal language the whole time. I guess he has that "mafia with a clean front/disguise" vibes.

Yonji is exactly like Sanji but big, buff, and (slightly) dumb(er). Sanji's very unhelpful food tester because he eats everything.

Yonji's flower is Black-Eyed Susan, Niji's are (kind of oversized) forget-me-nots. No meaning, I just want them all to have different flowers.

Ah man, I also do want to do an AU where Sanji's family is good but he still somehow ends up with the Straw Hat crew. Maybe next time.

I like to imagine one a reverse Isekai where the Straw Hats end up in modern day America, Sanji would have a deep burning hatred for McDonalds. He would see the whole franchise as a disgrace to cooking. But, despite that, the rest of the crew loves MickyD.

So I imagine Reader who’s a UberEats driver and has been looking after the crew since they ended up arrived, walks into a McDonald’s to pick up an order only to see the crew minus Sanji eating burgers while wearing ski masks. 🤣

“I think I wanna change my name,” you start, slowly flipping through the pages of an antique book Robin had handed you. There’s gold filigree on the paper edges, and it’s written in a script you have to scrunch your eyes to read.

“Oh?” The archeologist asks. She looks up from over the rim of her teacup, sipping gently. Her blue eyes are lighter than Sanji’s: hers more teal, rather than his lapis lazuli. Robin and you haven’t connected much, but it’s nice to spend some time with her. And you didn’t know if anyone else would understand this sort of thing.

“To Vasya,” you continue, nodding down at your book. “I read it in a story once.”

Robin sips her drink. “What was it about?” Her voice is quiet, and lilting. You tilt your ears, wondering if she knew she spoke in lullabies.

“It was about this girl,” you say, folding your hands atop the book, vellum pages spread open in front of you. You scratch at some of the ink. “She was a witch, sorta. She could see nature spirits. And the king of winter wanted to take her for his bride. He actually fell in love with her,” you recall, “Instead of the mortal man she was betrothed to. So she ran away into the woods with him, and eventually learns to fight. She helps her country win a war, actually.” You grin, “There were some really cool fight scenes.”

“Oh?” Robin hums, closing her book on her lap. The two of you had been reading in the library together, until you’d spoken out of nowhere about your name change. “That’s interesting.”

“Mhmm,” you agree, sipping your own sugary tea Sanji had prepared for you. He knew you liked it sweet.

You plop another sugar cube into the china cup, stirring it with the silver spoon that came with the rest of the tea set. It had a lily emblazoned on the handle.

“And her name was Vasya?”

“Yes,” you say, nodding, “Short for Vasilisa. But I like Vasya best.”

“Well then,” Robin smiles, a thin flutter of pleasure dancing around her lips. “Nice to meet you, Vasya.”

You grin, and take a big sip of tea.

“Thanks, Robin. Nice to meet you, too.”

“The wings of the pirate king?” You giggle after Robin had told you Sanji’s title.

“Mm,” she hums, pleased, “Zoro is his right arm. And you are the painter, I presume?” She nods toward the set of colored pencils you’d brought along into the room. The library was one of your favorite places on the ship to draw (minus the stern’s railing, which was your favorite spot). Sketches of the aquarium fish dotted your notebook every few pages. Luffy and his stupid grin took up most of the rest.

You couldn’t stop drawing him, much to your chagrin.

“I like using colored pencils, mostly,” you prop your chin on your hand. Munch on a cookie Sanji had brought, the white china plate dotted with pink frills. It was vanilla, with lemon-icing sugar on top. Your eyes flutter closed at the taste of it.

“Melts in your mouth, doesn’t it?” Robin brings her own cookie up to her lips, and takes a dainty bite. She’s so polite, you think. Way better manners than you, or even anyone else on the crew. Nami came close, but not really. Sanji was better mannered than her (at least to you, although he yelled at Mosshead quite a lot). You hadn’t gotten to really meet Zoro, yet.

“Mm,” you agree, taking another bite.

“You’re the archeologist, right? A historian, of sorts.” You hadn’t known what that word meant, until Chopper told you. He was your best friend, on the ship. Well, besides Luffy…

But Luffy was special.

“That’s right,” she inclines her head, the sharp edge of her raven hair skimming the top of her shoulder. Her collarbone dipped behind a violet collar, sharp and angular just like the rest of her.

Plus she was so tall.

“What do you like about it?” It was easy for you to make friends, you had realized. Especially with this crew. They had all been so welcoming to you, the day Luffy reappeared through a portal with you on his hip. He’d been gone for three months, stuck at the cottage with you. That’s how you’d met him, how you’d gotten to know him, and how he asked you to be on his crew.

He’d been impressed with your portal fruit, and had found you to be excessively pretty, to boot. You blush at the memory, the first time he’d called you cute.

“You’re pretty, kitty.” Luffy bends down his head so he’s looking at you from upside down. You’re sitting on a tree stump, sketchbook in hand. You’d been drawing Luffy himself, enthralled by his athleticism as he trained on your cottage-green lawn.

“Y-You are!” You blurt, having never been called pretty before. You could use your body to flirt with men, sure, but somehow Luffy’s complement hit differently than theirs. Your cheeks flush.

You wonder why.

“You’re welcome,” he says, grinning, and steps away to sit down across the firepit from you. Last night’s embers still smoke, chalk-like wisps still curling through the air.

“But you’re supposed to say ‘thank you’ first,” he stretches his legs out, leaning back on his hands. His fingers are thick and calloused from where they curl into the grass.

“Thank you,” you mumble, closing your sketchbook stealthily. He’s seen your portraits of him, the ones you dared to show him. But those were less…ogling than this last one had been.

Listen, he’s hot when he trains, okay?

“You’re really pretty,” he says again, and you realize there’s a sudden dusting of rose across his face. He’s blushing, you think with a shock.

“Th-thanks…,” you say again, sitting on your hands. You knock your feet together, bare and dirty from the grass. You curl them up, and scrunch your nose. “What…what makes you say so?”

Luffy tips his head to one side, gray eyes sliding up toward the sky. “Hmm…just felt like saying it, I guess. I like watching you draw.”

You bite your lip, your own cheeks heating. “I like watching you train,” you quietly counter. Luffy stills, going calm in that way you’d seen for the first time last night, when he’d fought off a whole town of angry farmers for you. They’d been trying to chase you, torches and all, and he had just. Knocked them down like bowling pins.

He’d been angrier than you’d ever seen him, then.

After, when there were only groaning bodies left twitching on the ground, he’d wrapped an arm around your waist.

“Let’s go home, Kit,” he had said, and you opened a portal for the both of you to step through.

Now, he stares at you with guileless, unblinking eyes. You’ve never trusted someone so implicitly before. Luffy never lies.

You regard him, leveling an artist’s eye at his muscular frame. His body is tanned, weather-worn and battle-hardened. His hair is fluffy and dark, like a raven’s ruffled feathers. He has the best smile you’ve ever seen in your life, and it’s not long before you’re nodding emphatically.

“Yes.”

He grins, eyes crinkling up into little half moons. “Good! I like you,” he hums, turning his head to stare at the tree line surrounding your yard. The pine trees are tall and indigo, shivering in the cool, twilight breeze.

“I like you too,” you hedge, not sure what he means. Did he…y’know…like you? Like that?

“I mean, I really like you,” he repeats. He’s staring at you fully now, and your pulse quickens.

“I really like you, too.” You couldn’t hope, you couldn’t possibly, but—

“Can I kiss you?”

He asks it plainly, simply, with a subtle tilt to his head. His hair is ruffled in the wind, and you can see a flicker of conquerer’s haki around his shoulder blades. Like the mantle of a king.

You answer without words, crawling forward off your tree stump over to where he sits with his legs splayed out. Your sketchbook is forgotten, discarded in the grass. You sit in his lap, hovering with your face and your hips barely a breath away from his.

Your eyes flick to his lips, and you can see that he’s trembling. He looks up at you, a question asked still paused in his throat. You slide your fingers into his hair, and pull.

He gasps, but you devour it with a kiss.

“Fuck—,” he whispers, in between hot crashes of your lips, “I like kissing you.”

You moan out a little sound, something satisfied and warm, and sink down onto his lap proper. His arms snake around your waist, pulling you in tighter. Your hands are raking through his fluffy hair.

“I like you,” you growl again, pursing your lips at his temple. You wonder if he’s ever been kissed.

“Good,” he says again, peppering small kisses along your jawbone. “Will you be mine?”

“Hmm,” you tap your fingers against the base of his skull. “What does that mean? I don’t like being trapped,” you lean up, haughty, your arms around his neck.

He shakes his head, fiercely. “Never trapped,” he tightens his hold around your hips, “Not with me.”

“Okay,” you chirp, bending down to nip at his bottom lip, “I’m yours, then.”

Luffy laughs, loud and clear, and tumbles you both onto the grass together. You giggle, enjoying the weight of your now-boyfriend pressing against you in the dirt. He’s so warm, and he smells like fresh logs.

You reach up to kiss his chin. He beams down at you with pride.

“My Kit,” he says, effectively claiming you as his own. He kisses the tip of your nose.

“My Luffy,” you say, grinning almost as wide as him (though you don’t think that’d ever be possible). “My pirate captain,” you stroke his hair lovingly, and he leans into the touch.

“Your pirate king,” he corrects, and swoops down to claim your lips once again.

Bad news, I already knew who would join the crew prior, so I knew that there would be people not joining unfortunately

But onto the fun stuff!

Luffy - I went into one piece not knowing much. I knew it was some pirate show, but I went in completely spoiler free. My dad was like, hey, you should watch one piece, so I did one day at a cute 4am! When I saw the iconic captain, Luffy, I loved him immediately. I thought he was the perfect protag who was both goofy and had a lovely goal. I knew that I wanted him to be king of the pirates from the beginning and still love him just as much!

Zoro - When I first saw Zoro, again, I was spoiler free at the time, so this was literally me: ZAMN NICE BIDDIES DUDE. And I fell in love. I thought he was the literal perfect character to go along with Luffy's more goofy personality and I thought he was great. Not only that, but I love his english VA, so I was very happy to see him playing Zoro!

Nami - I'm a sucker for a good girlboss and I am a redhead, so I always see the redhead chicks and go THAT'S ME! But no at first I HATED HER I thought her motivation only being money was so stupid and I was like, come on, this girl is gonna be annoying?! I hate that. But then when her backstory came up I was like AHHHHH NAMI ILY, so yeah, I love Nami and have nothing but respect for my girly

Sanji - Ah, my lover boy. I fell in love immediately. I thought he was a great character because I actually saw him before I watched one piece and knew he was coming up. He was my blonde silly bf and my lil cook. I loved him right off the bat, perviness and all <3

Usopp - HELLO?! THIS WAS MY IMMEDIATE BOYFRIEND. Something about the lil pathetic cuties get my attention. I mean the lying part was not my cup of tea, but seeing how much he cared for Kaya was everything and he really deserved to become a pirate. I loved him from the moment he appeared and loved his outfit!

Chopper - He's me fr. I knew about Chopper, but didn't know he was from one piece, so I was very delighted to see this little raccoon dog roll up to the party. He had a lovely backstory and seeing him run from Luffy in the beginning was literally so cute and I have nothing but so much love for him <3

Robin - Literally loved her. I didn't care that she was a bad guy at first because I knew she was gonna join the crew. I really loved Croc, and seeing a badass woman beside him willing to kick his ass to exist was everything. I just felt so bad for her though when she told Luffy to just leave her to die and really, she needed the crew so much, so I was over the moon when she joined

Franky - my boyfriend hehe. I already knew about him and I am a sucker for the big USA men in anime. I knew a lot about him minus that he was a bad guy at first and was actually pleasantly surprised when I did find out! He is such a rounded character that needs to kiss Robin rn because I love them sm. But literally I would do anything for this cola loving cyborg

Brook - the strawhat I most anticipated for tee hee. I knew EVERYTHING and I mean E V E R Y T H I N G about him before he showed up. Backstory and all. Even after timeskip stuff. I am a sucker for skeleton characters (I'm writing a book that has a character that's a skeleton) and knew I was gonna love Brook. So seeing him in the show made me all giddy and he was another who needed the crew and deserves them <3

Ray, The East Blue Crew, and specific elements of their queerplatonic situation cause I’m feelings. Sentimental and missing them a lot rn :}

As A Group-

Group cuddle and sleepovers are Very common with the East Blue Crew specifically. As time goes on others get included but for this group especially after a particularly tiring or difficult day they’re all laying on blankets on the floor with pillows and just enjoying each other’s physical company

Ray WILL initiate an "I love you" and Luffy, Nami, and Sanji always respond back and while it's not that Usopp and Zoro don't care deeply they just hold that kind of language very personal (And Ray doesn't mind, they know the two care) While the group isn't the most Hyper Affectionate they show they care and comfort in small ways. Casual hugs, head leans, hand holding, just flopping beside or in the case of Luffy and Ray just plain on top of others isn't unheard of. The whole group sees each other as life partners and the lines between platonic companionship as a friend group and a romantic polycule is very blurred and they just embraced it. All they know and care about is that they love each other and never want to leave each other's side.

Nami and Ray are Hand Holders by the time Alabasta happens

Nami was the first that Ray actually had a conversation about how they feel about the East Blue Crew and how while it wasn’t romantic minus Sanji cough cough they still felt very strongly about them all and in a way they wouldn't consider normally platonic Nami Usopp and Ray are kind of their own trio in this context. Ray loves and cares for the others but Nami and Usopp are a special case, to the point of the three of them refer to their situation as being "platonically in love" When on the lawn deck the two often swap spots on the swing (Ray often sitting on it whenever Nami and Robin are busy doing other things) On the Sunny Ray has their own sleeping quarters but it's not unheard of, if Ray if having a particularly difficult night, for them to crawl into bed with Nami

Usopp 🎯-

SCAREDY CATS DUO Absolutely terrified of combat but willing to protect each other at any cost Ray and Usopp are each others safe space for emptying their negative emotions. They half a lot of the same fears and anxieties and trust each other a lot for being unjudgmental about the things that scare them. They both miss the Going Merry terribly and Water 7 was a lot emotionally for Ray because not only was the idea of losing the Merry difficult that on top of Usopp leaving left Ray very emotionally overwhelmed from the beginning. When Usopp got back through all the chaos Ray had already cried a handful of times. In my canon on the Sunny Usopp, as part of his own touch, has a garden on the lawn deck (along with other planter boxes around the ship) of different flowers and plants, specifically their assigned flowers obviously. (Fun fact Ray most resembles a violet !)

Luffy 👒- Luffy is an interesting case for this situation cause he's definitely familial for me so I see him more from a little brother lense. I'll try my best though lskgdndslkn Luffy and Ray are always open for a midnight or midday snack and have very similar tastes. Pray for any Jerky or other salty snacks within the vicinity of these two. These two are CONSTANTLY being physically affectionate and if Ray needs a hug Luffy is the one they go to for it cause for obvious reasons. And sometimes when Luffy is just RARING TO GO he'll just pick Ray up for a piggy-back ride and just fucking zoom. He's lucky he can get away with this as their captain lol I like to think in my Zoan DF AU Luffy is definitely the one they cuddle with in Beast Form and he ALWAYS pet them and scratch their ears. A boy and his dog core, you know?

Zoro ⚔️- Zoro is likely the most casual out of everyone. He shows he cares in more subtle ways and is easily the one who's bond is more out of respect and companionship than affection. Nami and Ray are the ones to get Zoro to his bunk/hammock at night or after Zoro's been drinking. Does he remember this? Who knows Obviously his swords are important and very personal for him so not just anyone is allowed to handle them. Eventually all the Strawhats get the honor of being able to handle them but for a while the only people who were allowed to touch his swords were the East Blue Crew and the only people trusted with their upkeep besides Zoro himself were Luffy and Sanji Sometimes in my Zoan DF AU Ray will just turn into Beast Form and just PLOP on Zoro when he's napping. Zoro finds this annoying at first but eventually he gets use to it and even begins to expect it.
