Chan swallowed softly and pulled the door close behind himself, locking it to avoid any of their friends stumbling in. Minho seemed extremely vulnerable right now, and it ignited a protective feeling in his chest he hadn't felt in a while about him. He knew he was blushing; he could practically feel the heat radiating off his face and burning in his ears. Chan went to Minho's closet, got one of his fuzzy blankets, and sat down at the edge of the bed. “Min?” he asked, trying to see how responsive his friend was.
“Yeah?” he asked quietly, tears still spilling from his eyes as his body was fighting the aftershocks of pure pleasure.
“You're okay?” he asked softly, and Minho hummed.
“Very,” he nodded, a slight blush creeping up his neck as he realized how messy he must look right now in front of Chan.
Chan hesitantly reached out for him, fingers shaking as he brushed his hair from his face. “I'll help you clean up, yeah?”
“Mhm, okay, Channie hyung,” he nodded drowsily. “It's not like I could walk on my own right now.”
Chan almost choked on his breath. “I'll draw you a bath,” he said, scrambling to his feet and quickly busying himself in the bathroom. He cursed himself for getting so flustered. Fucks sake, he had seen every other of his friends naked before, turning into a moaning mess beneath him. Was it because he always thought he'd never see Minho that way? They'd never work because, well…they both liked to be in control. When he came back, Minho still hadn't moved, goosebumps slowly covering his skin. Chan tried not to stare too much but fuck, that was hard. “And he just left you like that?”
“Made him mad,” Minho shrugged and licked his dry lips. “Told me to clean myself up or beg you for help.”
Chan laughed and rolled his eyes. “He wouldn't have left you if I hadn't agreed.”
“Don't be so sure about that; he's a little devil if you give him the chance,” he laughed and shifted a little as he tried to get comfortable.
Chan noticed he was beginning to freeze and spoke before he could think it through. “Can I give you a cuddle until the bath is ready?” he asked, blushing at Minho's puzzled look.
“Channie, there's Felix's cum dripping from my ass and my own smeared all over my stomach. I'll make a mess of you,” he giggled.
Chan blushed heavily before nodding. “I know. I don't mind.”
“Nasty,” Minho commented.
“Shut it; you're the one unable to walk right now because you've been such a tease,” he snorted, and Minho weakly punched his arm. Chan giggled as Minho pushed himself onto his knees with a groan, wincing a little. He pulled him into his lap and wrapped the fuzzy blanket around them.
Minho slumped against his chest and buried his face in his neck with a soft huff. He closed his eyes, overwhelmed by Chan's natural scent, and picked up on a hint of Jeongin’s favorite cologne. Chan's hugs always felt safe, and he loved indulging them when they were back home. No one was expecting him to “hate” it here. “I'll be so sore tomorrow,” he grumbled, and Chan chuckled.
“I'll pay him back next time, fuck him stupid,” Chan said, not really thinking again. He was too occupied with the feeling of his hand resting on Minho's bare skin beneath the blanket and lingering on his lower back so tenderly.
“You could fuck me stupid instead; I'd gain more from that,” Minho answered and couldn't quite believe he said that out loud. Fucks sake.
“I can't believe you, only a minute ago, you were still sobbing, and now you're asking for it again,” he snickered.
“And that's the only thing keeping you from doing so?” he teased softly, nuzzling his nose into his neck.
“Minho,” Chan whispered, his grip on his back subconsciously growing tighter.
Minho pulled back and squinted at him, amused, hooking his finger beneath Chan's chin and making him look at him. “You'd like that, huh?” he asked, and Chan could only nod, blushing furiously. “And just for your information, I cry when I feel really good.”
Chan hummed and swallowed thickly. He gently brushed back his hair and smiled at him. “I'll ruin you another day.”
“What if I want you to do so right-oh god,” Minho moaned out shakily as Chan wrapped his hand around his dick. His eyes fluttered close, and his fingers buried deeply into Chan's shoulder. “Oh, just like that,” he breathed out and whimpered softly as Chan kissed down his neck before licking a stripe up to his ear. He used his other hand to brace Minho and bent his head, licking over his nipples teasingly. Minho shuddered with a gasp, already leaking down Chan's hand. He was still so sensitive he wouldn't last long. How embarrassing he'd fall apart so easily the first time he touched him. It didn't help feeling Chan's dick pressing up against him through his sweatpants. “Channie,” he breathed out needily.
“I know,” he whispered against his skin. “I know, it's okay. We'll do it properly another time.”
Minho whimpered and needily fucked into Chan's fist, growing more sloppy with every thrust. “Channie, so close,” he warned him, and Chan gave him permission.
His stomach fluttered at Minho's face, flooding with pleasure, lips opening in a sweet moan of his name. Chan could feel his release dripping down his hand, and he knew Minho had made a mess of his shirt now, but he didn't care. Not with the blissed-out look on Minho's face. The sight made him feel so good he couldn't quite believe himself.
He gave him a moment to calm down before getting up with him in his arms. “Now, let's clean you up.”
-
“I still can't believe you'd get that jealous,” Jeongin snickered in Felix's arms.
“I'm not,” Felix giggled. “Minho hyung wanted Channie to care for him for ages but was too shy to ask.”
“Oh,” he nodded gently.
“So yes, when he was being a tease today, I thought I'd give them a little push,” he laughed and kissed his head. “I would've never left him like that if Chan hadn't agreed.”
“You're a menace,” he giggled and cuddled closer.
“No, that's called smart,” he grinned.
-
Minho's eyes fluttered at how nice the warm water and soothing lavender scent welcomed his tired body. He glanced up at Chan, who didn't quite know where to look. “You just gave me a handjob, I think you can stop acting shy now.”
“Sorry,” he laughed breathlessly.
“Join me?” he asked, and Chan heavily blushed. “Don't think I didn't notice you came in your pants.”
“Minho, I-,” he stammered, and Minho giggled.
“No wonder if our maknae needed help right before,” he smirked, and at Chan's puzzled look, he added, “You smelled like him.”
“You're insane,” Chan laughed and gave in, taking his shirt off. Minho watched him intensely as he did, not really hiding that he was enjoying the show. Chan quickly got into the water, slipping in behind him and spreading his legs. Minho scooted closer with a soft grunt, leaning back against him. Chan gently rubbed his arms before wrapping his own around Minho's stomach.
Minho gently intertwined their fingers, melting a little at how small his hands felt in Chan's. He didn't know what made him do it, but he shifted in Chan's lap just enough to bury his face in his chest. A soft sigh escaped him at the skin contact, and he could feel a small laugh rumble through his chest. “Asshole,” he giggled.
“I always knew you like being hugged,” he smirked succeedingly.
“I like it when you do it,” he nodded softly. “Makes me feel safe.”
Chan smiled softly and kissed his hair. “I'm glad it does.”
Minho shuffled in his lap once more before straddling him, arms wrapped around his neck. “Channie?” he asked softly, searching his eyes.
“Yeah?” he asked, soothingly rubbing his hips.
“Please don't let this be a one-time thing?” he sounded almost timid, tugging at Chan's heartstrings.
Chan shook his head and cupped his face with one hand. “I'll make you feel good as often as you want to from now on.”
“Promise?” he smiled sweetly.
“Promise,” Chan giggled, eyes widening as Minho lunged forward and gave him a kiss. He only needed a second before he kissed back passionately, trying to make it last. He buried his hand in his hair, smiling into the feeling that sent shivers down his body. Now, he finally could take care of all his boys.
-
Not much later, Minho was dressed in a comfy sweater and sweatpants belonging to Chan. He was comfortable in Chan's bed, the soft lilac light making him even sleepier than before. Minho brought the sweater to his face and buried his nose in it, getting flooded with Chan's scent. He couldn't bite back the lazy smile tugging at his lips. Chan returned with a glass of water and sat beside him. His curls were still a little damp, and Minho was purely relaxed after Chan washed his hair, massaging his scalp so perfectly and then doing the same with his aching body. “Come on, kitten,” he spoke softly, and Minho blushed a little, sitting up. He let Chan help him to drink a bit before smiling at him fondly. Chan put the water aside and lovingly fondled his hair. “Cuddles?”
“Please,” Minho nodded sweetly.
-
Felix and Jeongin peeked into Chan's room after a while, exchanging a grin at the sight of their hyungs cuddled up. Minho's head was tucked safely beneath Chan's, their legs intertwined. Chan's hand was beneath Minho's sweater, and Minho was holding onto his sweater in his sleep in return.
“Cute,” Felix commented.
“Guess you did it,” Jeongin chuckled before they left them in peace.
One week later
Chan was strolling down the hallway, hearing “Taste” blast through the almost empty building. He was ready to go home, but he had a feeling Minho wouldn’t leave if he didn’t remind him of the time. Pushing the door open, his breath hitched, seeing Minho immersed in the choreo. He quietly pulled the door close behind himself and leaned against it, watching him curiously. None of them knew what Minho had planned for that song yet; he only knew Felix and Hyunjin pitched in some ideas this afternoon. Chan’s thoughts started wandering as he watched the younger man sink down to his knees and spread his legs as he did. He slowly pushed himself off the door and made his way over, strolling into his view behind him. By the time he reached him, Minho was back on the floor, rolling his hips. It didn’t help that right after his angelic voice blasted from the speaker with the words, “Don’t make me bad, make me bad, I’m addicted to you.”.
Minho stopped in his movements, surprised to spot him through the mirror, and swallowed at how confidently Chan closed the remaining distance between them. Chan stepped right behind him and leaned down, kissing him upside down as Minho lost balance and fell to his bum. Minho didn’t waste much time, turned in their kiss so he was facing him and grabbed him by his shirt. He pulled him down roughly, catching his fall with his legs, and arched into his body as soon as Chan was on top of him. “Hey there,” he chuckled into their kiss and buried his hand in his hair.
“Hi,” Chan smirked mischievously. “Sorry, I didn’t want to interrupt, but…you make it very hard to resist you, moving like that.”
Minho hummed, pleased, and raised his eyebrows at him. “Well, did you come here to watch only, or?”
“Oh, I definitely came here to watch. Wanna see your face when I ruin you,” he smirked and sat up. Minho did as well and gulped softly as Chan scooted behind him, meeting his eyes through the mirror. “And here is perfect because you can see for yourself.”
“Fuck,” he breathed out needily. “Fuck, yes, please,” he nodded quickly, and Chan’s eyes darkened behind him, clouding with lust.
-
Felix had watched Minho curiously the next morning during breakfast as he sat down with a soft wince. Taking a look at Chan, spotting a few marks on his neck, he could imagine what had happened yesterday night when everyone else had been home already. Luckily, Hyunjin caught a cold so it would be only them practicing today.
He walked up to Minho and wrapped his arms around his waist, pulling him in. “Had fun last night?”
“Mhm, the practice was alright; I think I have the dance worked out now, and-” he swallowed as Felix wrapped his hand around his neck and met his eyes through the mirror.
“I’m not talking about that,” he said sharply, and Minho gulped nervously. “You enjoyed Chan hyung fucking you dumb?” he asked, and his hyung’s eyes widened.
“I-uh-,” he stammered, and the grip around his neck tightened.
“I won’t ask again,” Felix warned him.
“Y-Yes,” he nodded timidly. “I did.”
“You still think he can wreck you better than I did?” he asked, and Minho blushed heavily.
“Felix,” he whined softly, squirming in his hold as Felix planted his other hand right on his dick, straining against the fabric of his jeans.
“You don’t wanna chose, that’s fine,” he nodded and squinted his eyes at him. “Where?”
“Wh-What?” he whispered.
“You heard me,” he said sharply and Minho shrunk in his grip.
-
Chan flinched in his chair as the door to his room opened and got slammed close forcefully. His eyes widened seeing Minho, staring at the floor nervously, Felix right behind him. Felix shoved the older over to Chan’s sofa and gave him a little push. Minho fell back into the cushion with a soft groan and yelped as Felix climbed on top of him, wrapping his hand around his neck once again. “Lix,” he whispered and glanced at Chan embarrassed.
“What the fuck are you doing?” Chan asked irritated and got up.
“You decided to fuck him in my room, so I’ll do the same now,” he told him and raised his eyebrows challengingly at him.
Chan scoffed and an amused smirk settled on his lips. He locked the door and slipped the key into his pocket. “My dear sunshine, you may be in control with him,” he said, pointing at Minho. “But may I remind you who’s in control when it’s us?” he asked and stepped next to him, wrapping his hand around his neck. He leaned down with a grin and winked at Minho. “So what makes you think you can come into my room and do as you like, hm?” he whispered into his ear and Felix shivered with need.
Shit, he didn’t quite think that one through.
“Oh god, it’s not like I couldn’t handle both of you, just do something, please,” Minho whined beneath them, wide eyes darting between their faces.
Chan exchanged an amused glance with Felix before leaning over to open the drawer of his desk. “Not how I planned my day, but I can’t complain,” he said, flicking the cap of the bottle of lube in his hand open. “Who’s first?”

After their night studying together at Minho’s dorm, there was complete radio silence from Felix. And the one time Minho had texted him to wish him good luck on his midterms, he had been left on delivered.
Minho knew he was doing okay, though - from the things Chris said in passing and the rumors he heard throughout campus… about Felix’s weekend parties and continuing to make out in public with random people.
Before he knew it, weeks had passed since the last time Minho saw Felix. And each night, when he laid down to sleep, each time he closed his eyes… he saw Felix right there. In the front of his mind - back pressed against the wall of his dorm, staring up at him with a mix of burning anger and agony. And every time he envisioned Felix in his dreams, he had to bite his tongue to hold back the tears.
Chris and his other friends didn’t understand why he was in such a bad mood, but they tried to cheer him up as much as they could… by eating their meals together and hanging out around campus to study.
His friends were the reason why Minho found himself in the thick of a crowd in a nightclub one weekend. He usually didn’t go out into the city late at night, opting instead to play video games at home or read a good book, or even cook a meal for everyone.
But instead, there he was- standing in the middle of the dance floor, surrounded by writhing bodies. Couples were bumping and grinding to the music that blared all around the expansive room. The bass thrummed in the floor, vibrating against Minho’s heels and up into his legs. Hyunjin was the one who had invited him and Chris to the nightclub, stating that it was the best one in the city and fairly new. On top of that, Changbin was DJing a set for the night, so Minho decided to go out just once to support his friend.
So far, he had drunk two rum-and-cokes and could feel the buzz of liquor shooting through his veins. As he shuffled off of the dance floor, stumbling over people's feet, he searched the crowd for the rest of his friends. Changbin was busy up at the DJ booth, head bopping to the rap beat he was remixing with a famous pop song. Chris was right before the booth, in the throng of the crowd that was head-banging to the song. Hyunjin, meanwhile, was in the center of the dance floor, doing a sensual dance with a beautiful woman.
Immediately, Minho could feel the heavy weight of exhaustion and sadness tumble down onto his shoulders once more. Just seeing his friends - and everyone else - have a good time was making him even more depressed. So Minho made his way over the bar, sitting on one of the stools and ordering a tall bloody mary. As he sipped on the sour liquor, his eyes continued to survey the crowd.
He was extremely dressed down from the rest of everyone— opting for a pair of black jeans and a matching button-down that Hyunjin had convinced him to unbutton by just a tiny bit so that his chiseled pecs were visible only slightly. Minho studied the people all around him, who were mostly college students. People were making out at the bar, groups of guys were in the corners of the room, their laughs growing louder with each shot they took and then there were the people alone—
For a second, everything stopped. The room froze in place, the music died down, and everything came to a screeching halt. Slowly, Minho’s eyes slid over to the end of the bar, where a cluster of circled tables were positioned in a corner.
There, two figures were sitting on one of the cushioned plushes. One was an older man, whom Minho had never seen around town before - he looked to be in his late thirties, with a beard and dark hair, and eyes that seemed to pierce right into a person’s soul.
  And next to him was…
  Lee Felix.
But, as Minho looked a little closer, squinting for a better view, it wasn’t Felix.
Not the one he was used to, at least.
No— this Felix was finding it hard to keep his eyes open. This Felix’s delicate shoulders were beginning to cave in with exhaustion. This Felix’s cheeks were as pink as a rosebud, his lips just as red and a little swollen.
His blonde hair was a mess of curls atop his head, having grown out a little bit since the last time Minho saw him weeks ago and now touching the nape of his neck. As usual, his skin was dripping with silver jewelry and diamonds. Minho couldn’t make out his entire outfit from such a far distance, but he caught a glimpse of the red, glittery tube-top Felix had on and that was enough to make his throat dry up.
Minho took a long drawl of his drink, watching over the salted rim of his cup as the older man cozied up to Felix’s side and grew a little closer. He whispered something into the blonde’s ear, and Felix turned to him with a tiny frown. Then, the stranger was taking hold of his jaw, pressing a few kisses against the exposed skin of his neck and collarbone.
Minho held onto his glass a little harder at the sight of it all, the chilled feeling of his drink radiating throughout his palm and waking him up from his liquor-induced daze by just a tiny bit.
Deep down, in the back of his mind, he knew something wasn’t right.
There was something… off, about the vision of Felix like that. Of how he was acting. How he was letting such an older stranger fondle him so obscenely. It wasn’t normal for him - even despite him being a big one to party and fuck around with people.
Minho waited and watched, eyes flicking back between the two of them. As the minutes ticked by, the man grew closer and Felix seemed to grow more exhausted. And then, things were happening again.
 Too quickly and too soon—
The man was standing up from his spot on the couch and grabbing ahold of Felix’s arm, hoisting him up, and pulling him out of the booth. He grabbed ahold of his hands, smirking as Felix started to hit his arm in protest. But he was too weak, and a lot smaller than the stranger. In an instant, the man was yanking him away from the bar entirely and into the crowd of people, and the last thing Minho saw was Felix hitting at the man's chest, struggling to pull away with his halted movements.
Just like that, Minho was losing sight of them. Heart beating wildly against his ribcage, he shot up from his barstool and slapped a tip down onto the countertop. Then, he was shooting through the bodies on the dance floor, searching for Hyunjun. By the grace of all things holy, he was able to find his friend in the crowd.
Reaching out, he placed a hand on his friend's shoulder, shaking him out of his trance. “Hyunjin, I gotta go— something’s happened. Let the others know!” He screamed over the music, motioning with a hand to the exit.
It was much too loud for Hyunjin to hear, and he was probably too drunk to process Minho’s words. Even still, he nodded and held a big thumbs up. Minho didn’t wait for him to reply verbally, pushing through the shivering and gyrating bodies.
He was taking too long— Felix was probably gone already.
  Gone with that man and—
His anxiety and worry forced his legs to push harder, faster, until he was busting out of the nightclub’s front entrance. Eyes scanning the streets all around, he didn’t see anything.
  He couldn’t find them.
  Felix was gone.
But Minho didn’t give up, running down the street… eyes scanning every surface around.
Then, his eyes landed on a blonde head. One that was being led away on the opposite street by a taller man. They had gotten so far from the nightclub, that Minho had to sprint to catch up.
It was so late into the night, that darkness had settled in all around. The alleyways of the area called out to Minho in a foreboding kind of way. The nearby streetlamps did little to brighten up the surroundings, and by the time Minho made it close enough to call out to them, he was so out of breath he could barely talk.
“Hey- Lix!” He yelled out, as he reached their figures.
But the man didn’t stop, continuing to drag Felix with him. His hoodie was up now, and he had a strong grip on Felix. Something was wrong. Very, very wrong. Minho’s alcohol-addled brain was moving a little too slow to process everything, but he knew the basics of what was going on and what he had to do.
So without any more formalities, he walked up behind them and grabbed ahold of Felix’s other arm, forcing them to a stop. The man turned around, giving Minho a dark glare. “And where the fuck do you think you’re going?” Minho started, getting a firm grasp of Felix’s forearm and pulling him a little closer to his body.
But the man didn’t let go, instead giving Minho a sly kind of smile. “Back to my place— we’re dating. So let go of my lover and I won’t call the police on you.” The man said, his voice coming out gravelly and deep.
Raising an eyebrow in question, Minho stared down at Felix, catching onto the way his eyes were nearly rolled into the back of his skull. He was so limp, he could barely hold himself up. Minho’s hand crawled down his arm, his fingers entangling with Felix’s chilled ones.
“He’s much too drunk for you to take him anywhere. So let go of him and I’ll make sure he actually gets home.” Minho seethed out, the rage boiling deep inside of him at the sight of Felix so weak.
He had been drugged, that much Minho knew.
Drugged by the man in front of him.
“And who the fuck are you, to tell me what to do?” The guy was yelling now, his knuckles turning white from how hard he was gripping Felix’s arm.
“I’m his friend. Now let him go,” Minho said, giving the man a poisonous, deadpan stare. “And maybe I won’t report you for drugging him.” Which was a complete lie, but at that point, he was scrambling for anything.
And just when the man was about to open his stupid mouth to say something else, people were shouting down the street, across the way from them. Turning only slightly, but still keeping an eye on the man in front of him, he saw three figures trudging down the street.
He recognized the first one, with silver-fox locks.
The people in question were Felix’s friends.
Thank fuck, he wasn’t the only one around now.
Almost instantly, upon seeing the three men stride up to their sides, the man was yanking his hand away from Felix’s skin as if it had burned him. Then he turned around and made a run for it.
“Fucking coward! I'm still gonna report you, fuckface!” Minho screamed in his wake, watching the stranger bolt down an alleyway and quickly get lost in the misty night. Felix’s friends were growing closer now, and Minho’s head pounded with a mix of liquor and adrenaline that still rushed through his veins.
Felix felt light as a feather in his arms, as Minho grabbed ahold of him. Wrapping his arms around his waist, Minho pulled him close. “Felix… can you hear me?” He whispered, brushing a few fingers against his cheek. He was so warm to the touch, his lips slightly parted and eyes completely closed. “It’s going to be okay… please, just hold on a little longer, baby…”
“Who was that?” Jisung was the first one to talk as they neared Minho, taking a long drawl from his joint.
“Probably some weirdo that wanted to fuck Felix- what’s new-“ Seungmin joked, his tone light.
The carelessness of Felix’s friends made Minho’s blood boil. And when he turned around to face them, and they saw the state of their friend, all of their casual expressions dropped instantly.
“What the fuck were you all doing?! Leaving him alone in there-” Minho screamed, pointing back towards the nightclub with its loud music bleeding out of the front entrance. “He was drugged and he would’ve been taken by that man if Ihadn’t stopped him!”
The first one to speak up was Jeongin, nearing them and brushing a hand against the top of Felix’s head. “Is he okay?” His voice trailed off, as his eyes searched Felix’s face.
“I don’t know, but I need to get him home. So one of you useless fucks need to call a cab.” Minho gritted through his teeth, pulling Felix away from Jeongin’s touch. Then he was hoisting him up into his arms, bridal style. Keeping him as close as humanly possible.
Jisung frowned at the insult, shaking a finger at Minho. “Hey! Don’t get mad at us— we didn’t know where he had gone, that's why we came out here looking for him,” He started, rolling his eyes dramatically. “Plus, he’s a manwhore anyways— he loves getting fucked by strangers. Ask anyone on campus.”
Minho watched, as Seungmin pulled out his phone and began to call a cab. “You’re the worst friends, you know that?” Minho said, voice low as gravel. He looked around the small group, at the way Jisung continued to smoke his weed right there while his friend was drugged, at the way Seungmin was typing away on his phone without a care in the world. The only one who seemed mildly concerned was Jeongin, with his knit brows and a deep frown. “I can’t believe he got mixed up with you. You all suck and I’ll get my own taxi so don’t even fucking worry about it.”
And then, like a random chance of luck, a taxi pulled up to the curb right outside of the nightclub. A group of girls in short skirts and stripper heels tumbled out of the car, giggling and smiling as they made their way into the club. Stepping onto the curb, Minho waved down the taxi.
Only after he had carefully seated Felix down in the backseat did he turn around and regard Felix’s friends. “I really hope this situation teaches Felix who his true friends are,” Minho said, glaring at the three of them.
Shrugging only a little bit, Seungmin stared up from his phone and gave Felix a sardonic kind of laugh. “Your hatred for us is kinda entertaining, not gonna lie,” then he was showing his phone to Jisung beside him, scrolling through something. “Ji— look, there’s a bigger club just down the road, let’s go check it out.”
Without another word, Minho was sliding into the backseat right beside Felix. Just as he was about to slam the door, a hand caught ahold of the frame. Jeongin leaned into the car, eyes scanning over Felix’s limp body which was slumped against Minho. “Let me know when you get home. Here’s my number.” He pushed a piece of paper into Minho’s hand.
Staring down at it, Minho crumpled the thing between his fingers. “I don’t want any kinda contact with you.”
“Do it for Felix, then. Please.”
Then Minho’s eyes were flicking up to Jeongin’s and he noticed the way his face was colored with desperation, the way his mouth was pulled into a thin line and his eyes danced with concern.
So all Minho did was nod silently before Jeongin pulled away and shut the door with a quiet click.
Minho reached out after that, as the taxi began to move. He gently grabbed ahold of Felix’s hand and squeezed it. The blonde was fast asleep against his shoulder.
And it took everything in Minho’s power not to start crying just then. At seeing Felix’s weakened state, his mind replayed the scenes of the night. How Felix was almost taken away. How he could’ve been kidnapped and raped by a stranger. Or, even worse.
Leaning his head against the seat, he stared out the car’s window. Studied Seoul’s dark streets, and the blaring lights all around. He squeezed Felix’s fingers a little bit just then, feeling like he never wanted to let go.
Making a promise to himself that he never would.
  Not again.

Chapter 1: Forget-Me-Not
The afternoon sun seeped in through the tall windows of the castle, squares of light broken up by the shadows of the window panes travelling across the large canvas set up next to the window. Delicate, practised hands were adding small, vaguely flower-shaped dots of orange to the rhododendron bush on the canvas. In front of the canvas sat His Royal Highness, Prince Hwang Hyunjin of Mahonia, the Kingdom of Winter.
The young prince was sitting in a decidedly un-princelike manner, hunched over his canvas with his paintbrush clutched tightly in his hand, but the determined expression on his face was certainly that of a king’s. His long hair had been tied crudely out of his face with a stray piece of twine, and his princely outer robes had been tossed haphazardly on the large bed, leaving him in only a white undershirt, the paint-splattered sleeves rolled up to his elbows, and his everyday pants, the piece of linen he used to protect the fine material from paint long since abandoned on the floor.
Hyunjin’s painting was interrupted by a firm knock to his door, two raps in quick succession, followed by a third a moment later. Hyunjin only knew one person who knocked in such a unique manner and a smile spread across his face.
“Come in, Seungmin,” the prince called out, rinsing his brush in the wooden bowl next to his easel before placing it on the cloth next to the bowl to dry.
Hyunjin’s personal attendant and the closest thing he’s had to a friend all his life poked his head into the prince’s chamber, his fluffy brown hair flopping slightly to the side from the angle, his round golden wire-rimmed glasses also falling slightly askew. Hyunjin could only see his collar and a bit of his left shoulder, but he knew Seungmin was wearing the same garb all of the palace staff wore, a royal blue tunic belted at the waist with a gold braided cord, black trousers, and polished black loafers. Each tunic bore the kingdom’s crest — the Hellebore Mountains with the moon rising behind the peak, surrounded by a wreath of plum blossoms — embroidered on the left side, just above the heart, and Seungmin’s featured a small gold pin of the same crest on the mock neckline of his tunic, indicating that he was a member of the royal family’s personal staff.
Hyunjin did not need to see the rest of his friend’s uniform in that moment to know that not an inch was out of place, with starch-pressed creases in the trousers and shoes so well-polished one could see their reflection in them. Seungmin was often better dressed than Hyunjin, the latter often having the odd paint stain somewhere on his clothing or hands, despite the amount of care he took to prevent that from happening.
“Your parents are requesting your presence,” Seungmin said, casting a glance at Hyunjin’s canvas. He hummed appreciatively at the painting, meeting Hyunjin’s eyes as he spoke. “It seemed serious, so you might want to make yourself look… a bit more presentable. But quickly, it also seemed urgent.”
Hyunjin let out a sigh, picking up a rag to wipe the stray flecks of paint off of his hands. Some of the fresher flecks came off easily, but some only smudged deeper into his skin, and others had long since dried.
Seungmin took his leave, off to do whatever it was he did when he wasn’t taking care of Hyunjin. Hyunjin honestly didn’t know what he got up to in his spare time, but he did not care so long as Seungmin was there when he needed him, which he always was. Technically, the prince’s attendant or his personal maids were supposed to help him dress, but Seungmin had given up on that very shortly after he took on the role, and Hyunjin had also dismissed his maids from assisting him, as it made him feel like a child being doted on, which he hated.
The rest of the kingdom thought him to be a spoiled, arrogant prince, but Hyunjin and those closest to him, albeit not that many people, knew that was far from the case. The prince did not care what others thought of him, though. He knew that his subjects called him the Ice Prince because of his cold exterior, but he did not mind. He was warm to those who mattered and polite but succinct with those he was unfamiliar with, and if that made him come across as cold, then so be it.
Hyunjin dressed himself quickly, praying his parents wouldn’t notice the splash of yellow paint that had made it onto the knee of his trousers, and started to make his way to the east wing of Icehaven Palace, where his parents resided. Hyunjin spent most of his time in the south wing, in a former guest room that he had claimed for his own because of the beautiful view of the garden below his window, and the Hellebore Mountains on the horizon, marking the edge of his kingdom. Though it was customary for a prince to stay in the east wing with the rest of the royal family, Hyunjin found himself forgoing custom more often than not, and even though he occasionally returned to his childhood bedroom in the east wing to watch the sunrise, he had called the room in the south wing home for as long as he could remember.
Arriving at the east wing, Hyunjin made his way to his parents’ shared room, as that was usually where they were when they summoned him together. He nodded at their personal guard, Mingyu, as the taller man stepped aside to let him in.
Entering his parents’ chambers, Hyunjin was met with the familiar scent of mulled spices and old wood that he came to associate with the space. His mother was sitting in her favourite chaise lounge by the window, the midnight silk of her dress blending into the indigo velvet of the chair. A chalice was perched delicately in her hand, likely containing her favourite plum wine, a Mahonian signature. Hyunjin’s father stood by her side, staring pensively out the window and looking in Hyunjin’s direction when he entered the room. Like Hyunjin, his father had long hair, but his swept past his shoulders where Hyunjin’s only reached his jaw. The king often wore his hair in a complicated braided knot atop his head, accenting his crown perfectly, but now his hair was loose, flowing past his shoulders as the gold crown rested on the vanity next to the queen’s matching one.
Hyunjin was unaccustomed to seeing his parents so casually, but he did his best to appear unfazed by the sight. He greeted his parents with the low bow customary for greeting Mahonian royals, with one fist clasped over the heart to signify fealty to the crown. When he straightened his posture, his parents were smiling warily at him, as if they were nervous too.
“Hyunjin, please sit,” his mother said, gesturing towards one of the armchairs facing the chaise lounge.
Swallowing his nerves, Hyunjin sat in the one closest to the fire.
“There’s something we would like to discuss with you,” the king said, his focus solely on Hyunjin now.
“I only snuck out to get paints once, Seungmin had no idea!” Hyunjin blurted, wringing his hands in his lap.
His father quirked a bemused eyebrow at him, while his mother appeared to be hiding her smile between her chalice.
“That is not what we were planning on discussing, but we can address that later.”
“We have always appreciated your independence, Hyunjin, and we would never force you to do something you didn’t want to do, but there is something we would like you to consider,” his mother said, smiling at him warmly.
Though both of his parents were looking at him with uncharacteristically fond expressions, Hyunjin could not help but feel the anxiety rising in his chest.
“What is this about?” he asked.
“We’ve been talking with the King and Queen of Cerasus, and we were thinking it would be greatly beneficial to both kingdoms if you were to get married to their crown prince, Prince Minho,” the queen said apprehensively, as if she knew what Hyunjin’s reaction would be.
Predictably, Hyunjin shot out of his chair immediately, causing it to tumble backwards and land with a dull thud on the carpet. “If we were to do what?” he exclaimed, eyes frantically darting between his parents. Surely they had to be joking.
“We are not trying to force you, Hyunjin, but we would like you to consider it,” his father said calmly, ignoring his son’s burst of frantic energy.
“It seems a little forceful,” Hyunjin chuckled nervously, reaching his hands up to tangle his fingers in the roots of his hair, loosening his ponytail and causing him to look probably about as frazzled as he felt.
“You don’t have to commit to anything right now,” Hyunjin’s mother explained gently, resting her chalice on the side table next to her. “We have invited Prince Minho to stay with us at the castle for the summer. All you have to do is get to know him better, and tell us how you feel at the end of the season.”
“I already know how I feel about him,” Hyunjin grumbled, crossing his arms. “He hates me. Why couldn’t it be Prince Yeosang instead?”
“Prince Yeosang of Celosia has already expressed his intent to marry a commoner,” his father said with a sigh. “Besides, weren’t you and Minho friends? I seem to remember you two running around the Cherry Blossom Palace wreaking havoc everywhere you went.” “Not anymore,” Hyunjin said with a pout, arms crossed defiantly. He was well aware that he was behaving childishly, but he could not bring it upon himself to care. He would continue to refuse marriage to Prince Minho even if it was the last thing he did.
His mother gave him a look, and Hyunjin sighed, tossing his arms in the air. “Fine, he can stay here. But I make no promises beyond that.” “That is all we ask of you, son,” his father said, something akin to pride in his eyes.
Hyunjin was dismissed from his parents’ chambers and left in a huff, not even bothering to greet Mingyu this time, leaving the poor guard with his hand lingering halfway in the air.
Not a single member of the staff dared to speak to him as he thundered through the halls of the castle, a storm forming on his brow as he made a beeline for Seungmin’s room.
Tumblr media
When Minho’s parents, the king and queen of Cerasus, the Kingdom of Spring, first suggested to him that he marry the Hwang prince, he adamantly refused. He’d known Prince Hyunjin since he was a toddler and Hyunjin was a dumpling-shaped infant, on account of their parents being good friends and their kingdoms being allied. The two princes had been friends as kids, Minho had many fond memories of chasing stray cats together through the gardens of his palace and peering through the telescope in the large conservatory in the Cherry Blossom Palace.
But as they aged, Hyunjin grew distant, and one year at the annual Harvest Ball held in Celosia, the Kingdom of Autumn, Hyunjin avoided him like the plague, even going so far as to run away when Minho tried to approach him. They were still kids then, especially Hyunjin, who was two years Minho’s junior, and Minho knew he should’ve been the more mature one and tried to talk to the other prince about it, but instead Minho reacted in the way he knew best. If Hyunjin was going to act coldly towards him, Minho would be cold right back.
Years later, after Hyunjin had continued to act coldly towards the elder prince and Minho delivered sharp remarks any time they were forced to be together, Hyunjin had developed a reputation in his kingdom. The citizens started to refer to him as the Ice Prince, not simply because he was prince of the Kingdom of Winter, but because he acted coldly to everyone he met, staying locked up in the castle and refusing to go out to meet the citizens on holidays as was expected of royalty.
Minho, on the other hand, though he had grown to act coldly towards Hyunjin as the years went by, had earned the title Angel Prince because of his delicate features and his benevolence towards his people. Prince Minho was often seen in soup kitchens helping the needy and donating toys to local orphanages, and had even purchased an animal shelter with his own money to keep it from shutting down. Whereas Prince Hyunjin was feared by his subjects, Prince Minho was revered.
Though they had been friends as children, Prince Minho was firmly against marrying the frigid prince and moving to his equally frigid kingdom for even part of the year, and he vocalised as much to his parents, who were disappointed but agreed that they would not force him. But when a courier from Mahonia arrived with a letter addressed to him, Minho briefly reconsidered his stance on the Ice Prince.
Prince Hyunjin had personally written to him saying that his parents had also tried to talk to him about a marriage between the two of them, and while he was not enthusiastic about the idea of marriage, he had made a promise to his parents that he would try to get to know Prince Minho.
The letter was an invitation for Minho to come stay with him in Mahonia. Minho was not thrilled at the prospect of staying in the winter kingdom, where he hadn’t been since he was too young to remember; both his and Hyunjin’s parents much preferred spending their time together in the warmer Kingdom of Spring.
Minho was moved by the letter, regardless, because it would have been easy for Prince Hyunjin to continue to avoid him like he had all these years, and the fact that he hadn’t outright rejected the idea without a word to Minho or his parents was enough for Minho to find himself packing his bags with his warmest clothes in hopes that the Ice Prince he knew had thawed his heart since the last time he had seen him.

The day of Prince Minho’s arrival at Icehaven Palace, Hyunjin was doing his best not to be found. That is to say, he was hiding in a far corner of the library where he hoped no one would think to look. Hyunjin was not much of a reader himself, but he had gone looking for Seungmin during his days off enough times that the prince was very familiar with the royal library and all of the nooks and crannies that would make perfect hiding spots.
That’s how he found himself wedged in a bookshelf in the least frequently visited part of the library that had been suspiciously cleared of its lower shelves, leaving an oddly Seungmin-shaped void where the books should be. Hyunjin was not a coward, not at all, but there were many things he would rather do than entertain the Prince of Cerasus for weeks and pretend that there was any chance of the two getting married, and folding himself into a pretzel in a bookshelf that was probably pressing bruises directly into his bones was apparently on that list.
Hyunjin wasn’t sure how long he was going to hide, but he figured emerging at dusk would be a safe bet as he would only have to interact with Prince Minho at dinner and then would be able to excuse himself to his chambers for the night. Judging by soft light filtering in through the domed skylights built into the library, it was mid-afternoon, and Hyunjin would have to be here for a while longer.
With a sigh, he reached his hand up to the shelf above him that did, in fact, contain books, and grabbed a book at random. As he pulled it off of the shelf, a plume of dust emerged with it, causing Hyunjin to splutter and cough and hold the offending book at arm’s length. Of course Seungmin would only clean the shelves he would need to create his hiding place.
Carefully shaking out the book and wiping the cover with his sleeve, Hyunjin began to read. He wasn’t too interested in the ancient methods of agriculture of Mahonia, which, despite being the winter kingdom, were still plentiful, but he was bored enough that it didn’t matter as he soon got engrossed in the text for the sake of having something to do.
Despite the book likely having been relegated to an unused part of the library for a reason, Hyunjin found himself losing track of time. It wasn’t until a pair of black trousers and spotless black shoes appeared in his periphery that Hyunjin became aware of how much time had passed. As he looked up to meet Seungmin’s eyes, the sky showing through the skylight had darkened significantly, dusk being well underway.
“Just what exactly do you think you’re doing here?” Seungmin said, in the same bored tone he often adopted when Hyunjin was being too erratic for his liking. “And in my hiding place, no less?” Pouting, Hyunjin dog-eared the page and pretended not to see Seungmin’s responding wince. “Didn’t think anyone would be able to find me.”
His whining tone was met with an eye roll as Seungmin crossed his arms impatiently. “Most people would not think to look for you in the library, because everyone knows how much you hate reading. But I’m not most people. Now get up, you’re due at dinner in half an hour and you’re covered in dust. Not to mention your fiancé has been wandering the castle like a lost soul because you didn’t come to greet him.” “He’s not my fiancé!” Hyunjin protested, groaning as he slowly eased himself out of the cramped bookshelf nook, his joints creaking in protest. Seungmin made no move to help him.
“Visiting prince who your parents are ‘suggesting’ you marry, same difference,” Seungmin said, looking as if he was holding back a laugh as Hyunjin finally stood to meet his eyes, his face red from the sudden blood rush and his long hair tossed haphazardly in his face. With a fond smile, Seungmin picked a few dust bunnies out of Hyunjin’s long hair like he’d done many times before, adjusting the prince’s hair so it was back in the neat half ponytail he normally kept it in. “Let’s go, Prince Dust Bunny, you should wash up before dinner. Wouldn’t want to make a bad impression on your future husband.”
“That ship has long since sailed,” Hyunjin grumbled, following Seungmin with heavy footsteps as they made their way out of the library.
“What’s with the book, by the way?” Seungmin asked as they were almost at the grand doors of the library, only sparing a cursory glance back at Hyunjin, who still had the book cradled in his arms like it was more precious than it probably was. “I’ve never seen you get more than ten pages into a book without giving up, you must have been really keen to avoid this prince.”
“Thought Yunho might like it,” Hyunjin mumbled reluctantly, having in fact brought the book with him instead of leaving it where he found it because he thought Seungmin’s boyfriend, the palace gardener, would enjoy its contents. Hyunjin knew Yunho hated reading, but he did enjoy hearing Seungmin read to him, something the gardener and the prince shared in common.
Seungmin’s retort died in his lips as a voice called out further down the hallway, “Prince Minho, we should really return to your chambers and wait to be summoned for dinner.”
Hyunjin froze, quickly thrusting the book in Seungmin’s direction, leaving the poor attendant to scramble to hold it properly. Approaching from the other end of the hallway at what could only be described as a leisurely stroll, was none other than the very person Hyunjin was trying to avoid, with a very flustered guard, one of Hyunjin’s own, trailing after him hopelessly.
Hyunjin hadn’t seen Prince Minho in years, but he looked the same, only more handsome, if that was possible. Minho had really grown into his features, much to Hyunjin’s annoyance, and his confident posture seemed to indicate that he knew it.
The winter prince was still frozen in place when Prince Minho and his escort’s path overlapped with his. Hyunjin was regretting not ducking into the nearest supply closet to hide, because Prince Minho looked even more beautiful up close. Warm brown hair, rosy red lips and chestnut brown eyes that narrowed upon seeing Hyunjin. Hyunjin had once known Minho well enough to know when the guarded expression he used with those he wasn’t close to fell over his features, and he could still see the moment it slipped into place as the Cerisian prince stopped in front of Hyunjin.
Hyunjin wanted nothing more than to avoid eye contact, so he let his eyes trail from the polished boots Prince Minho wore, to the silken white trousers, to the lavender silk robe and matching overcoat gilded in gold flowers. The garment was typical of Cerisian court attire, but he must have been freezing when he arrived. Hyunjin found he did not care about whether the other prince was cold on his journey or not when they finally met eyes, and the air around them was palpably tense.
Though equal in rank, it was customary for royals to bow to each other upon greeting as a sign of respect. Neither prince moved to bow, choosing instead to maintain prolonged eye contact. Hyunjin was the first to break, because even though he didn’t want to initiate contact, he knew he should based on the fact that he was the one hosting.
“Prince Minho,” Hyunjin said with the slightest inclination of his head toward the other royal, nothing close to the customary bow. He couldn’t bring himself to bow before the man who had been unkind to him for years, the other prince didn’t deserve that kind of respect. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed Seungmin bristle slightly at his cold tone. It was not one he used often, usually reserved for courtiers who thought their status meant others should bend to their will, and Seungmin was unaccustomed to hearing it. The last time Hyunjin had seen Prince Minho had been long before Seungmin was promoted to be his personal attendant.
“Prince Hyunjin,” the spring prince replied, equally as frosty, his stare seeming to pierce through Hyunjin’s perfectly crafted cold persona that he adopted around the Cerisian prince, straight into his soul. He looked simultaneously menacing and bored, like he would rather be anywhere else in the four kingdoms. He probably did, Hyunjin knew that Prince Minho had accepted his invitation, but he didn’t know how much of that was the prince’s own will and how much of it was his parents’.
Suddenly, Prince Minho’s demeanour changed, his shoulders loosened as he blinked owlishly at Hyunjin, his gaze trained on Hyunjin’s hair.
“Is that… dust in your hair?” he asked, seeming almost amused.
Hyunjin’s eyes widened marginally, shifting his gaze to Seungmin, who had clearly missed a dust bunny in his tidying of his prince’s hair. Seungmin shrugged apologetically but utterly unhelpfully, leaving Hyunjin to fend for himself. Hyunjin took a look at the high, vaulted ceilings, almost as if begging the gods to help him come up with an answer, and failing that, his gaze trailed to the portraits of his ancestors that were lining the hallway in ten foot increments. Neither the gods nor his ancestors appeared to be on his side, because no answer came.
Squaring his shoulders, Hyunjin looked directly into Prince Minho’s piercing brown eyes before addressing him. “What’s it to you?” was the only thing that came out of his mouth, a childish response he would’ve expected to have given at the age of eight, not twenty two.
Frustrated and ashamed and utterly unwilling to let Prince Minho see the flush that was beginning to creep up his neck, Hyunjin surged forward, brushing past Minho with a brisk nod to his guard, Seonghwa. A baffled Seungmin was on his tail the entire time as the abashed prince rapidly made his way back to his chambers to wallow in peace.
Tumblr media
Prince Minho of Cerasus arrived at Icehaven Palace in the middle of a blizzard, after eighteen days of travelling across the continent on horseback. To say he was exhausted would be an understatement. He was unaccustomed to long distance travel, only travelling between cities and towns within his own kingdom, and occasionally to Celosia. But neither Cerasus nor Celosia had weather quite this terrible. Minho had never encountered such weather before, and he now understood why the Mahonian king and queen always made the journey to his kingdom instead of asking him and his parents to visit them here. Minho was quite convinced that if he had to live here for any extended period of time, he’d want to get away whenever he could as well.
His reception was nice enough, the queen greeted him personally in the expansive main hall of the castle, fussing over his tired appearance and snow-covered form. He was assigned a personal guard, as all of his had returned to his kingdom upon abandoning him in a kingdom he had never been to with people he hardly knew (he definitely wasn’t harbouring a lifelong grudge against each and every one of those guards and their descendants), and a personal attendant for his stay in Icehaven Palace. They both seemed nice enough, and were both around his age which would be nice for a change. Many of the guards in Minho’s palace were in their thirties or older, and while they were interesting to be around, Minho did not have the chance to spend time with many people his age.
The guard was a slim but imposing figure, seeming to tower over Minho and looking like he was taking account of every breath Minho took with his wide but piercing eyes, which was a little unnerving, honestly. He was introduced as Lieutenant Park Seonghwa, one of Prince Hyunjin’s personal guards who had been reassigned to Minho for the duration of his stay. If the lieutenant was upset about this assignment, Minho could not tell. The attendant was introduced as Yang Jeongin, who apparently knew all of the ins and outs of the castle and would be able to secure Minho whatever his heart desired, within reason. Minho was polite to his new companions, as he was raised to do, but he wondered all the while how long it would take for him to evade his new shadows and be able to roam the castle without feeling like he was being kept prisoner.
In the meantime, Minho would have to make do with the situation he was in, so he politely excused himself from the queen, though she was very insistent that he wait just a few moments longer in case her son decided to show up, but it had been abundantly clear to Minho as soon as he stepped in the castle and was greeted only by the queen and a handful of staff members that Prince Hyunjin was not going to grace them with his presence any time soon.
After Minho insisted on making his leave, Jeongin led him to the chambers where he would be staying for the month he had to live there as Seonghwa carried the small sack of Minho’s belongings he had brought from home. The chambers were well-decorated and nearly as big as his chambers back home, he could tell it was one of the ones meant for important guests.
The main room had a small sitting area to the right of the door, in front of a fireplace, which Jeongin had rushed in to light as soon as they arrived. The bed against the left wall was massive, much bigger than the one Minho had at home, because he hated feeling small in such a large bed. It was dressed in indigo silk sheets, with a gold brocade on the comforter and pillows. Minho smiled, recognizing the set as a gift from his parents to the Mahonian king and queen many years ago. Minho’s kingdom was the primary exporter of silk across the continent, so it was a safe bet that most if not all of the silk in the castle had been produced in his kingdom.
Though the bedding was familiar to him, the room also had more animal hides and pelts than Minho had ever seen gathered in one place before. He supposed it was only logical, as they would need to keep warm somehow in the frigid winter kingdom, but Minho shuddered nonetheless at the sight of a particularly realistic white pelt laying across the back of one of the chairs that must have belonged to an arctic fox at some point.
Probably interpreting his disquieted shudder as a shiver of cold, Jeongin appeared at Minho’s side, wiping the soot from his hands on a white handkerchief with the blue and gold kingdom crest embroidered on it.
“Would you like me to draw you a bath, Your Highness?” the attendant asked, reaching to help Minho out of the heavy winter cloak he had purchased specifically for this journey. Minho obliged, letting the sharp-eyed man take the cloak off of his shoulders.
“That would be nice, thank you, Jeongin. And you may call me Minho, I do not require honourifics when we are away from the public eye. The same goes for you,” he said, turning to address Seonghwa, who was in the process of placing Minho’s bag in the armoire that was to the left of the door, parallel to the bed. The lieutenant paused, his brows furrowed and wide eyes full of confusion as he pointed to himself as if to say “Me?”
Minho let out a laugh at seeing the man’s previously intimidating face shift into such an innocent-looking one. “Yes, you. I estimate we are all about the same age, and I don’t have the luxury of being surrounded by people my age when I am at home. So please, refer to me comfortably.”
As Seonghwa stood there, still dumbfounded, Jeongin piped up brightly “Alright! Minho it is! How would you like your bath?”
“So scalding my skin turns concerningly red and I have a reason to miss dinner,” Minho replied with a deadpan look on his face. Minho had come to accept that his humour was doomed to be criminally underappreciated, but to his surprise, Jeongin’s face broke out in a gleeful dimpled smile as he scurried off in the direction of the bathing room that lay beyond the bedroom.
“You got it, boss!” the young attendant exclaimed, sounding slightly too excited about the prospect of drawing Minho the hottest bath he’d ever been in. A surprised laugh bubbled out of Minho’s chest. He could learn to like it here.
A long bath that left him smelling so floral it reminded him of home and a short nap later, Minho decided to dress himself and wander the castle a bit before dinner. Jeongin had disappeared from his room before his nap, after unpacking Minho’s bag and steaming all of his clothes free of wrinkles and hanging them up in the armoire, a task he did not have to do but did nonetheless. Minho had a feeling the attendant would insist on doing many more things for him over the course of his stay, even though Minho was used to pretty much being left alone at home. Minho wasn’t sure if all personal attendants were this dedicated, as he had not had one since he had nannies as a child, or if Jeongin was just a special brand of enthusiastic.
Nonetheless, Minho was able to leave his room with one less shadow than he had entered it with, only Seonghwa, who had been posted outside of his door, following him now as he wandered aimlessly throughout the cavernous halls of the castle.
The layout was considerably different from Minho’s home, with tall sandstone walls and arched doorways and ceilings, instead of the bamboo walls and ornately painted tiered ceilings Minho was accustomed to. He had expected to be cold in the castle walking around in his Cerisian attire, since the place was made almost entirely of stone, but he actually felt strangely warm. Not uncomfortably so, but enough to make Minho question exactly how the castle was being heated, as the small torches mounted on the walls appeared to be more for lighting than heating.
Now that he thought about it, Minho remembered feeling warmer as soon as he set foot within the palace boundaries. Granted, it had still been cold, because there was still snow everywhere and Minho apparently had delicate Cerisian sensibilities, but to the best of his memory, he had started to warm up as soon as he entered the palace’s outer boundaries, not its walls.
Minho’s thoughts were broken as he became aware of two things at once. First, Seonghwa’s presence only a couple of paces behind him, much closer than the trailing distance he’d been maintaining up until now. It appeared Seonghwa had been trying to get his attention, which he would have succeeded in doing, had something, or rather someone, not immediately grabbed Minho’s attention as soon as he spotted them. Second, walking closer to him and looking in any direction other than Minho, which let the older know immediately that he was being avoided, was none other than the Ice Prince, Hwang Hyunjin.
Given that the other prince had not received him despite personally inviting him, Minho had an inkling that Hyunjin had been actively trying to avoid him, and would likely scurry away immediately upon making contact, as he had often done when they were children. Which was why Minho, despite having initially paused upon spotting Hyunjin, continued his leisurely stroll down the hallway, making sure to keep his eyes on Hyunjin the entire time, so that if the other prince looked in his direction he would be forced to make eye contact.
When they inevitably did make eye contact, Minho stopped where he stood and schooled his expression into the bored one he used when the ladies who worked at the soup kitchen would try to set him up with their sons and daughters, even though he was secretly delighted at the fact that this eye contact appeared to be making Prince Hyunjin squirm.
Certain that the Ice Prince would run away at any moment, Minho made no move to bow. He did not want to embarrass himself in front of his new guard or the attendant by Hyunjin’s side when he was left in a perfectly polite ninety degree bow in the direction of the space the younger prince had occupied before fleeing.
“Prince Minho,” Hyunjin spoke first, startling Minho so much that his careful mask almost slipped. He had not expected the Mahonian prince to speak to him at all, though the level of frostiness in his tone was not surprising in the slightest.
“Prince Hyunjin,” Minho returned, fighting to match the cold tone with his own that he was quite unaccustomed to using. Hyunjin had changed drastically since the last time Minho had seen him.
He had frustratingly grown to be what looked to be a couple of inches taller than Minho, but luckily they were not standing close enough that Minho had to look up to him. He was sure he’d die if that happened. His face had lost nearly all of its dumpling-like softness that Minho had once fussed over for hours when they were children, and was now angular in a very flattering way, making him look all the more like the Ice Prince he was said to be. His hair was also much longer than Minho had ever seen it, long enough to be kept in a short ponytail, with only a few wisps falling out, and… “Is that… dust in your hair?” The question slipped out before Minho could stop it, but he found himself unable to regret it once he saw the look of panic flash across Hyunjin’s face. It made him look more real, much more like the Hyunjin he once knew.
“What’s it to you?” the younger prince blurted, before his eyes widened and he darted past Minho, who could only sigh as he watched him leave. Definitely like the Hyunjin he once knew.
Tumblr media
After the mess he had made of himself in the hallway, Hyunjin did not want to attend dinner, begging Seungmin to say he had a stomachache and would be retiring early. It wasn’t a complete lie, as Hyunjin’s stomach felt as uneasy as it had used to feel on the boat rides they used to take to Cerasus when he was a child. But Seungmin refused to lie for him, and said that he would not bring him food later on if he skipped dinner, knowing quite well that Hyunjin had not eaten all afternoon and was likely starving.
Seungmin’s persuasion unfortunately worked, so Hyunjin found himself seated across from Minho at the long but mostly empty dinner table, his mother having given up her usual spot next to the king so that the two could sit opposite each other. She seemed quite fond of Minho, asking him many questions about his travels and his life back in Cerasus, but Hyunjin tuned most of it out, focusing only on his dinner. He tried not to eat too much, but he was really starving and ended up being the last one to finish eating, well after everyone else had finished.
After Minho excused himself abruptly but politely and retired to his chambers with Jeongin and Seonghwa on his heels, Hyunjin’s mother shifted back into her usual chair so she could glare at her son properly.
“What was that?” she questioned, taking a sip of her plum wine as she stared daggers at her son over the rim of her goblet.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Hyunjin mumbled around a large bite of persimmon tart.
“Manners, Hwang Hyunjin,” his mother snapped, like he was five years old again. Heat rose to Hyunjin’s face as he forced himself to swallow the pastry with a sip of plum wine to wash it down. The sweetness of the wine cancelled out the sweetness of the dessert, leaving his mouth with a bitter taste in it, but Hyunjin couldn’t bring himself to eat or drink anything more now that his parents seemed set on interrogating him.
“Why do you insist on giving our guest, your guest, the cold shoulder?” his mother questioned. Hyunjin looked to his father for help, but the king seemed very interested in the contents of his wine goblet, swirling it counterclockwise and decidedly avoiding inserting himself in the conversation.
“He’s mean to me,” Hyunjin grumbled, hating how much he sounded like a petulant child.
“Have you even spoken to him since he arrived?” the queen retorted.
“Well-” Hyunjin started, before deciding that the interaction in the hallway did not count as a conversation. “No, but-”
“But what, Hwang Hyunjin?” his mother sighed. Hyunjin remained quiet, because he did not have a way to end that sentence that would not result in his mother scolding him more. He could tell she was starting to get frustrated with him as her nails were tapping rhythmically against the cherry wood table.
The king chimed in now, placing his hand placatingly on top of his wife’s to stop the tapping. “All we ask is that you try to speak with him, Hyunjin. Perhaps he’s changed since the last time you saw him. Think about how out of his element he must feel here. It needs to be you who reaches out.” Hyunjin knew his father was right, but he hated it. He would rather walk through a blizzard in nothing but his undergarments than be the one to break the years-long tension between him and Prince Minho, but he had made a promise to his parents, after all, and he couldn’t let them down.

Had a fic idea ... Here's a dialogue to best express it...
Minho, on the phone: Baby I'm breaking up
Felix: I'M PREGNANT
Minho: first of all I meant my phone is breaking up and I'm having trouble hearing you.
Felix: ohhhh
Minho: second of all... You are? Is it twins? A boy? A girl? A litter of little kittens? Enough to have their very own class where we can teach tjem Korean, English and Japanese. Ooh ooh we can teach them to sing, dance and rap of course. We will send them to school every day and make sure they at least attempt a class in everything. I can't wai- Felix?
Felix, hangs up the call and panic dials Han:
Han: Whats up?
Felix: I thought Minho hyung was gonna break up with me and I panicked
Han: oh god please tell me you didn't do the cliche thing. Please please PLEASE tell me you didn't
Felix, silent:...
Han, ends call and calls Hyunjin: I need a favor
Hyunjin: You must be in desperate need if you're calling for a favor
Han: My twin flame Hyunjined hyung
Hyunjin: Say less. HEY BABE!
Changbin, rushing down carrying twins: Yes?
Hyunjin: Lix did a me and we are gonna to go full UDIM
Changbin, puts the sleeping babies into a crib next to Hyunjin before taking out his phone: oh god oh god oh god
Jeongin, on the phone, sleepily: Hello?
Changbin: Yongbok!
Jeongin: How many times do I have to tell you I'M FUCKIN JEONGIN
Changbin: quit having an identity crisis. This is serious
Jeongin: This better be good
Changbin: Yongbok
Jeongin: I will hang up this phone
Changbin: and I'll kick your ass if you don't let me finish this damn sentence. Yongbok code red operation UDIM activated
Jeongin: well why the fuck didn't you say so.
Changbin: I'm gonna murder you
Jeongin, rushes out of bed: let's focus on Lixah first. I'll grab Minnie and everything. Meet everyone at Lixies
Changbin: on it
Jeongin, hangs up and calls Seungmin:
Seungmin: Hey
Jeongin: Operation Unnecessary Drama llama Mode has been activated
Seungmin: did Hyunjin hyunjin Changbin again?
Jeongin: No worse
Seungmin: oh?
Jeongin: Felix did a Hyunjin
Seungmin, sighs: oh my way
-An hour later-
Felix panicking: He ended with wanting a litter of our kittens around. I'm a human. I'm a man 😭😭😭😭
Seungmin: That's what you get for doing a Hyunjin
Hyunjin: I still hate how thwt is still the name we are calling it but still...
Felix: Help me
Seungmin: I called in a favor.
Felix: Are these the same people that got Hyunjin and Changbin the twins?
Seungmin: Yes
Felix: oh god
Jeongin, walking in with Changbin, Chan, Han, a mother cat with several kittens and the father cat as well as sleeping babies: oh hi Hyung
Felix: WHAT THE FUCK?
Minho, walking in proud: This is what you get for Hyunjining me
Felix: HYUNG!
Minho: I realized I may not be able to knock you up the only way I want but we got all the babies we can ever hope for
Felix: once again... HYUNG!
Minho: Oh and the rest of the guys will be moving in to help
Felix, sits down and pouts towards the ground:
Minho, sits next to him on the couch: How's the proud new mama of four and grandmama of four feeling?
Felix, eyes start watering as Chan hands him one of the babies and the Mama cat brings one of her kittens up to him: They're adorable
Changbin hands the other twin off to Minho: we'll be here to help. And they babies can all grown up with each other
Felix: thank you
Everyone watches as the cats bring the kittens up to snuggle on the couch by Felix's side as the babies feed off the mum
Tears fall from Felix's eyes.
Felix: I love my SKZ family

The boys were all sitting on the sofa watching a movie when their front door opened. The two missing members came inside, and Chan greeted them with a wave, frowning at how pissed Felix looked. The rest couldn't help but stare either as Minho put his sneakers aside, tensing up as Felix grabbed his wrist tightly. Minho blushed heavily as Felix whispered something to him and nodded timidly.
Felix pulled him into the living room and pushed him past their friends. Minho was waving at them with a small smile before getting pushed up the stairs.
The door to Minho's bedroom fell closed and Chan blinked a little in surprise. “What the hell did we miss?”
“God, Lix looked pissed,” Jisung chimed in.
Hyunjin frowned gently. “Did I just see that right?”
“Felix's in charge when it's those two?” Changbin asked, stunned.
“I always thought….,” Seungmin started, blushing a little and stopping himself from finishing that sentence.
“Minho…a bottom? Minho being submissive?!” Jeongin finished it for him.
“Nah, that can't be. Felix is way too-” Chan trailed off at a sudden noise, the bedframe hitting the wall.
Jisung grabbed the remote, turning the volume down. None of them protested. All of them had been sleeping with at least two other members. None of them really remembered when that started, but they didn't mind having seven pretty guys at their disposal whenever they needed someone.
“Felix can be dominant,” Jeongin told them and blushed, thinking of their last encounter. “But with Minho?”
“He can?” Chan frowned, surprised. “He was sobbing last time; I can hardly imagine that,” he giggled. What made him even more curious was the thought of Minho being submissive. They never hooked up yet because they both liked to be the one in control. A loud moan of Minho answered his question and he sank deeper into the sofa as they rose in pitch, matching the bed frame hitting the wall. “Oh god,” he whispered to himself, and Changbin threw him an amused glance.
-
Minho's face was buried in the pillow, eyes squeezed shut and jaw slack, leaving him no way to silence the noise. He could only hope the others wouldn't hear him getting ruined by Felix; they'd never take him seriously after that. He gripped the sheets as Felix pounded into him, pulling his bum up high and making his back arch beautifully.
“Not so talkative now, huh,” Felix gritted out between his teeth, and Minho moaned in response. “Behaving like such a little slut instead of asking.”
“I'm sorry,” he whimpered and cried out in pleasurable pain as Felix slapped his bum.
“No, you're not,” Felix shook his head, picking up the force of his thrusts, shoving Minho up the mattress. The older one weakly reached up to brace himself against the headboard and stop himself from scooting up even more. “Talking about Channie hyung all night, saying he'd make you cum harder than I ever did.”
“I wa-ahh-s joking,” he moaned out in pure bliss. “Needed you, wa-wanted you so bad.”
“Yeah, so needy that you started talking shit?” he asked and slapped him again.
Minho grew slack with a loud whimper, tears shooting to his eyes. “Mhm, so needy.”
“Needy little slut,” Felix growled and changed the angle of his hips. “You're mine.”
Minho nodded dumbly and gripped the sheets tightly as another harsh pain shot through his left cheek as Felix's hand hit it. “Only need you, don't need Cha-ahhnn,” he moaned out obscenely loud as Felix hit his prostate and made his body shake.
-
Chan's ears burned up, eyes widening and lips parting at the sound of Minho moaning his name so loudly it could be heard in the whole house. If he hadn't been hard before, he definitely would be now. He didn't dare lift his gaze and check if the others had caught it as well and shifted a little on the sofa, getting uncomfortable. Looking up, he noticed Changbin and Hyunjin had started kissing, and Jisung was seated in Seungmin's lap.
“Hyungie?” Jeongin spoke up, and Chan turned his head to his maknae. He was sitting on his knees next to him, eyes teary at the neglect of the others, and his sweatpants did a bad job of hiding his arousal.
Chan's face softened, and he patted his thighs. “Come here, baby,” he said, and Jeongin quickly shuffled over, straddling his lap and pressing down against him with a soft sigh. Chan gently cupped his face, soothingly rubbing his thumbs across his cheekbones, and planted a kiss on his forehead. “Need your hyung to take care of his little baby?” he asked quietly enough for only them to hear.
“Please,” he whispered, needily grinding down against him.
-
Minho was seeing stars by now, unable to form a clear sentence. He couldn't stop the noise from leaving his mouth, and it had him writhing with embarrassment. Felix had never gone so hard on him before, and fuck he loved it. “Close,” he whimpered, and Felix laughed.
“Forget it, you're not cumming before I say so,” he told him. “I'll show your beloved Channie just how fucked out you are once I'm done with you.” An obscene moan spilled from Minho's lips, and he clenched hard around him. “My baby would like that, huh? Such a needy little slut.”
“So needy,” Minho slurred, completely out of it by now. “Please,” he whimpered, a tear falling from his face.
“Please, what?” Felix asked sharply, dragging his dick across his prostate with every harsh snap of his hips.
“Need to -ohh- cum,” he choked out, curling his fists in the sheets so tightly his nails drew blood even through the fabric. “Please, can't-” he breathed out before breaking apart with another loud moan.
“Go on then, cum and make a mess, like the needy little slut you are,” Felix told him, and Minho's body shook intensely only seconds later. He came with a broken shout of his name, sobbing into the pillow weakly as Felix kept chasing his high.
-
Chan gently kissed Jeongin, rubbing his hips after tucking him back in. “How the fuck are they still going?” the younger one asked, and Chan laughed.
“No idea,” he said, noticing they were the only ones left in the living room. Jeongin curled up against his chest and Chan soothingly rubbed his back. His ears burned up at the sound of Minho stumbling over the edge, and closed his eyes, hoping they'd stop before he'd lose his mind. It got quiet soon, and after another few minutes, Felix strolled down the stairs, looking pleased with himself. “You menace.”
“He deserved it,” Felix shrugged and smirked at Chan. “Didn't stop talking about you ruining him. Should've seen him when I told him I'd show you how wrecked he is.”
“Felix,” he gasped, and Jeongin stared at his friend in wonder.
“Never thought you'd be so jealous,” Jeongin snorted.
“Well, I am,” he laughed and exchanged a glance with Chan.
“Please tell me you didn't leave him there like that?” he said, barely above a whisper.
“He's fine; he gets emotional, that's all,” Felix shook his head. "Come on, hyung. Do him the favor and take care of him. I'll cuddle Innie. I promise he's fine; I wouldn't leave him if he weren't.”
Chan reluctantly handed over Jeongin to Felix and made his way up the stairs, heart thumping in his chest. Seeing Minho like this, he hadn't imagined it to happen like that. Chan pushed the door open, jaw dropping at the sight. “Oh my God,” he breathed out. Minho was sprawled out on the bed, sobbing quietly as cum dripped from his hole. His hair stuck to his face, tear streaks painted his cheeks, and his body shuddered. “Lix, we have dance practice tomorrow!” he shouted downstairs, and Felix cackled in response.
“Channie,” Minho whimpered, and Chan's stomach flipped at the sound of it.
Oh, for fucks sake.

pairing: minho x felix (minlix)
genre: dancer!minho/artist!felix. brothers best friend troupe. college au. age gap (abt 4 years). minho pov. extremely dark themes throughout, including smut - MDNI, 18+ only.
content & warnings: some of the skz members are downright assholes in this, not everyone is perfect and some characters are EXTREMELY flawed. Age gap romance (but really, they're still adults so it's not that big of a deal). Drugs and alcohol are heavily mentioned (weed, coke, meth, etc.). Sexual references and themes throughout, including noncon later on in the fic. Abusive and destructive romantic/friend relationships are prominent. Heavy topics like: depression, anxiety, panic attacks, alcoholism, abuse, and self harm are throughout. Explicit sex will happen at some point. Strong, explicit language.
word count: 400
summary: lee minho was a very content man living his quiet life alongside his childhood best friend chris. they were both studying at the korean national university of arts. but never did minho expect chris' little brother lee felix to join them four years later.
quickly rising to popularity as the freshman known for legendary parties full of drugs and liquor, felix's reputation for being the campus' "thirsty little slut" is all-consuming. but minho, a senior, remains unfazed by the change in felix from the boy he once knew.
yet, perhaps felix's transformation is driven by more than just growing up.
the playlist 🗡️
a/n: I randomly had the idea to start this fic when I was driving to work one day and listening to tate mcrae's song exes lmao so... here we are 💀 I have no idea how long this is gonna be, but I've already finished writing two chapters, and I have no clue where half of this is gonna go... but some of my best work has been when I'm simply "winging it" and just letting my creative mind and mania take over for me. 😃 anyways, hope you guys enjoy this new series! it's gonna be super angsty and dark, which I am kinda living for, esp with minlix's dynamic. also, minho is more so the 'innocent, goody-too-shoes' in this fic than Felix, which is a big change from most of my minlix pieces so, there's that! 🤔

“I never asked to be let in, Felix,” Minho said, but the words came out as a whisper instead. Like if he spoke loud enough, someone from inside the party would hear them and come running out to take photos. Look, the campus' local desperate senior trying to coax the popular freshman into- “You know I didn’t. Not like this, never.”
Without even trying to, Minho could feel his body moving again. His hand reached up and caressed Felix’s cheek. Thumb smoothing across freckles and softness, brushing just underneath his long eyelashes. And for a moment, just like it was a dream in the twinkle of the galaxies, Felix leaned into it. Let himself go for but a mere breath, sighing with the caress.
He pressed his face a little closer to Minho’s hand, eyes fluttering shut. Cheeks heating up underneath Minho’s touch, his gaze shot open again as soon as the thumb underneath his eye migrated to his mouth. Migrated to caressing his bottom lip, with Minho's gaze locked on the swollenness there.
  “Don’t.”
Minho watched the single word escape past Felix’s lips and instantly, the tension in the air between them broke and shattered. Like someone had taken a knife to his heart once more, tearing him apart by flesh and bone, his hand was dropping from Felix’s skin.
“Go back to the party so you can get fucked by Renjun.”
The statement was a double-edged sword, both of them knew.
The words registered in Felix’s mind and Minho watched as disdain colored his energy again. Painting him in violent shades of crimson and lilac, Felix said nothing as Minho backed away from the presence and into the elevator.
Just before he was able to press the button inside to go down, Felix reached out and grabbed ahold of the elevator’s door. “Don’t you ever fucking come back around these parts, or I’ll-” He spit out in a venomous kind of way, the myriad of emotions swirling in his pupils.
“You’ll… what? Beat me up? You and I both know you’re not capable of that, Lixie…” Minho said, his tone twirling around the crackling ambiance between them. He flashed Felix one final smirk, before pushing the button to go down to the first floor and letting the doors shut Felix out

I unironically love meowmeowracha so much. They're easily one of my favourite dynamics in Stray Kids.
