“Hi guys!” Lee Felix, owner of Sunshine Desserts next door waves cheerfully at them. He’s wearing his work uniform, meaning the white button up and the baker’s hat. His smile is just as blinding as Jeongin’s phone screen when he forgets to turn down the brightness at three in the morning when he wakes up for a bathroom break.
It’s only when Hyunjin nudges Jeongin’s side with his elbow that he realises he never said hi back to Felix. Belatedly, Jeongin raises a hand. “Hi, Felix-hyung.”
“Hey!” Felix waves back, genuine excitement exuding off him. “How are you guys doing? Anything interesting happen?” Felix makes his way towards them, plopping down beside Changbin. Now Jeongin can’t even pretend to look anywhere besides Felix because he is sitting right in front of him. Sighing, Jeongin takes a sip of his Americano and promptly chokes on it.

✨ possible bangchan x reader (f), possible jungkook x reader (f)
✨ head on over to my masterlist if you haven’t checked out the previous chapters!
✨wc: ~4.6k
✨ friends to lovers? possible love triangle? obsession? angst and future smut??? a little fluff.
✨ summary: JYP Entertainment launches a new show and y/n somehow gets recruited. Even though she doesn’t particularly care about the outcome of the show, she does particularly care about one of the artists she met: Chris from Stray Kids. Does Chris feel the same or will a potential relationship with one of his friends overcome what y/n feels for him?
✨ warnings: cursing from time to time, smut!!!! 🔞
✨ author’s note: i’ve begun adding dates/times into the storyline, as i felt like it was getting a bit confusing to keep track of dates. i may go back later and add these into previous chapters as well.

Previous Chapter Recap:
You were too overcome with your craving for him to be able to stop. You didn’t care anymore. If anyone saw you, then so be it. All that mattered in this moment was him.
You felt Jungkook moan ever so lightly as he grabbed harder to your jaw, pulling you back slightly and letting out an exasperated sigh with a chuckle. He smiled, bringing his forehead down to press against yours as he brought your body in to press up against him . “You have no idea how long I’ve been wanting to do that,” he beamed down at you.
“Ditto,” you smirked, running your fingers along his upper back.
Suddenly, you heard a DING!
Your elevator was here.
Jungkook reluctantly pulled himself from you and slipped his hand into yours, guiding you into the elevator without him. “Let’s do this again sometime?” he flirted.
You pressed the button for your floor. “Hmm, I’ll think about it,” you teased.
Jungkook played fake hurt, putting a big pout on his face, eyes silently begging.
You rolled your eyes. “I’ll call you tomorrow, you big doofus.”
You saw Jungkook’s eyes turn sad as the elevator doors began to close. He backed up a little bit. “Miss you already,” he said, half joking.
“Miss you too,” you squeezed out as the doors pressed together. You weren’t joking.

Friday, 8 AM
Y/N’s POV:
If staring eyes had lasers, your head would have been charred into oblivion by now. And it was only 8 AM. You knew word would get around quickly, but you didn’t expect it to be this intense.
As soon as you’d stepped foot into your hotel room the night prior, Anna was already berating you with questions.
“Y/n! Oh my god! You’re all over Twitter already,” she sprung up in the bed.
“Jesus Christ,” you let out a sigh. If it was public already, then there wasn’t much you could do. It wasn’t like you’d been cautious about it. But butterflies swarmed around your stomach thinking of how this could change everything. For good or for bad.
“Come on, come on, tell me about it!” Anna had chirped, excitedly patting the bed beside her. The smile on her face was so deep, you didn’t know if she’d ever be able to peel it off.
She’d listened intently and begged for every last detail of your night with Jungkook. “So you guys are official now then?” she questioned at the end.
You looked off for a moment, pondering what to say. “I mean, we never talked about it…” you trailed.
“But basically,” Anna smirked, poking fun at you.
When all she got was an eye roll in response, she pushed you further. “Y/n’s got a boyfriendddd,” she teased while clinging to your arm to rock you back and forth, giggling.
“He’s not my boyfriend… technically,” you shook your head with an embarrassed grin.
“Oh whateverrrrr,” she gawked, dragging her voice up. “I give it a week tops.”
“And I promise you’ll be the first to know,” you said, trying to pacify her.
“I better be,” she raised her eyebrows. “Everyone online thinks you’ve been together for a long time apparently.”
The comment took you aback a bit.
“Everyone online?” You knew you’d be on Dispatch and the other common social media platforms, but had people had long enough to speculate about it already?
“Well yeah. From seeing the Dispatch pictures a few days ago… I guess they thought he wouldn’t be seen out with someone he isn’t serious about,” Anna poked into your side. Seeing your face halt, she continued. “But don’t worry, I haven’t seen anyone talking about knowing who you are… Nobody from JYP has noticed. Or if they have, they haven’t said anything.”
You breathed out a sigh of relief. It’s not that you were scared for people to see you with Jungkook. You weren’t scared of being seen on a large scale. What you *didn’t want is for people to think you were with Jungkook when you actually weren’t. If things didn’t work out between the two of you, you didn’t want to look like some idiot who fell for a celebrity and then got played… Or someone who was just chasing fame. You weren’t doing any of those things. You were simply taking life as it came to you. You’d thought that would be the best way to live out this new adventure in Korea. You really hoped you weren’t wrong.
But that’s also how it came to be that there were 20 heads turned to look in your direction as you entered the dance practice room. Silence filled the air as if it was an unspoken rule.
‘It’s too early for this shit,’ you thought, still rubbing your eyes from staying up later than you’d meant to.
Of course Jenna’s energy was the loudest, and you couldn’t help but feel her focusing all of it on you as you walked past. From the corner of your eye, you could see her jaw clench as you set your bag down on the opposite side of the room.
You were stealthily waiting for someone to start up a conversation with you about it, ready to be on the offense if needed. But no one did. No one said a word. At all.
As the main dancer, you took that as your cue to get everyone together to begin on your session for the day. You silently thanked the gods above that you’d only have to be with the group until noon. All afternoon and evening was set aside to practice for the showcase the following day. Until this moment, you hadn’t really felt the nerves, pushing them off by saying you still had a few days to rehearse. But today was the last one. Today, everything had to be perfect. Your heart sped up at the thought, but you’d have to push past it for the next few hours.
————
“Okay, it’s just not gonna work,” you said, standing up from your previously seated position on the ground. You’d stepped out of the choreography to watch the rest of the team. A few of the girls had been struggling with one part in particular. It was only a couple of eight counts, but there was a lot of fast, dynamic movement. Everyone was going to have to have clean lines if it was going to look right, and at this rate… well, it’d be better to just change it.
“How about let’s try a different approach,” you offered up as you walked toward the group. The song in itself had a bit of a sexy element to it, but you didn’t feel like the JYPE choreographers had encapsulated that at all. It was a strong song, and you knew it had the potential to have an equally strong performance.
“What if it went more like this,” you started before turning your body to face the mirror. You knew in your head exactly how you wanted it to go. You’d envisioned it the very first time you’d heard the song. It’d be a perfect fit. Down on one knee, then the other, a low swoop of your upper body before circling to grab each thigh. A couple of bounces before rolling your body onto your side, arching your back and then letting your hips lift up and drop to each side. A little provocative, maybe, but nothing any more than you’d seen done before. You were all well above age anyways.
“5, 6, 7, 8,” you began your eight count before matching the moves to the beat. You made sure to move fluidly so the girls could see the full vision, how your bodies could hopefully move in more unison thi s way. You felt your mind drift off as you let yourself melt into the motions. If “feeling yourself” was a dance, this would most certainly be it. At the last drop of your hip onto the ground, you finished by arching your ass up one more time before flipping your hair and kicking yourself back up.
Light claps erupted all around, and as you focused back on the people around you, you could see a flustered-looking Chan standing shyly only a few feet away. He was looking around, finally deciding to land on your feet, as if that was the only appropriate place for his eyes to be right now.
“I love it!” Kara smiled, walking so that she was positioned behind you and ready to follow at your next demonstration.
“Yeah, that was really good. Let’s see…” one of the choreographers followed suit and walked next to Kara so that you could walk him through the eight count again.
As you went, more slowly this time, you made sure to make each move more bold so that they’d get each little placement.
Some of the girls followed along in tiny motions, as if mentally mapping out what each step would be changed to. About halfway through, you heard a voice mumble at a tone that was definitely meant to be heard.
“I bet this is how she got Jungkook to like her,” Jenna said, snickering in Alyssa’s way.
You knew you weren’t the only one who heard it. In fact, you were sure it was loud enough so that everyone else in the room could hear it too. As if all eyes weren’t already on you.
You slowly took a deep breath in and stood up, taking your time to turn your body fully toward Jenna. If she wanted drama, then by all means, you’d give her the drama. It was long overdue. Everyone watched in silence as you eyed her up and down before walking over.
“I’m sorry Jenna, did you have something to add?” you asked, your face resting right in front of hers as you stood your ground.
You watched her eyes shift a bit, trying to stay straight with yours. She was at list a little shaken. You could tell by the way her lip slightly quivered. She wasn’t used to having anyone call her out. But she was in too deep now. Everyone had heard what she said. She couldn’t play dumb.
She crossed her arms as a cold and condescending voice coming across her lips. “I just meant that maybe some of us don’t feel comfortable doing those kinds of moves. You obviously have no problem doing it, and that’s great for you, but some of us prefer choreography that has a bit more of a… tasteful quality to it,” she smiled.
You mimicked her fake smile back. “Well if you were worried about being able to keep up with the rest of us, why didn’t you just say so?”
“Trust me, I can keep up with it just fine. What I can’t keep up with,” she continued sarcastically, “is how someone like you keeps everyone else fooled with this little gimmick you’ve got going on.” She leaned in, slightly lowering her voice. “You and I both know how you’ve gotten your fill while you’ve been here.” She smiled maniacally, like she’d just won a big prize.
“Hey, that’s enough!” Chris interjected, moving himself between the two of you. He made sure to pause on your face for a moment, making sure you were okay.
“I was just saying what we were all thinking,” Jenna said, quieter now.
“Jenna,” he said, looking now directly into her eyes, challenging her. “I said that’s enough.” It was quick, but you saw a muscle in his jaw flex before relaxing just a moment later.
After staring at him for another second, Jenna finally backed up. “Whatever,” she let out a laugh in disbelief. “Whatever,” she repeated.
“Let’s all take a ten minute break, yeah?” Chan said loudly, aimed at anyone and no one.
A few more seconds of silence passed before the others in the room started to peel their eyes away from the scene, instead turning to the person next to them and whispering under their breath as Jenna walked out the door.
You dropped your head slightly. Is this really what people thought of you now? That you were a slut and that’s why Jungkook had been seen with you?
You thought back to conversations prior. Kara discussing on the day of your professionalism training how there was a rumor going around that one of the trainees was hooking up with Jungkook. Talking about it again at a lunch with the boys. You remembered getting so upset over it- you’d barely even been on a date with the guy at the time.
Everyone had heard the rumor, but you thought that it surely would have died off by now. Apparently not. You suddenly felt your cheeks get hot.
“Thanks for that,” you mustered to Chan once everyone had averted their attention to something else.
He tried to bring his face up to look at yours, but his eyes just couldn’t seem to ascend all the way. He couldn’t make eye contact if his life depended on it. No worries,” he strained out before turning and walking in the other direction, seemingly to nowhere.

Friday, 12 PM
Y/N’s POV:
“Thank fucking god,” you mumbled under your breath as one of the vocal coaches called for a recess.
You knew you shouldn’t let it get to you, but Jenna’s words earlier set the tone for a pretty “off” day. It wasn’t so much that it came from her (you’d decided over a week ago that that didn’t matter), but the fact that she’d said it in front of everyone, making everyone stop in their tracks.
Surely no one would agree with her, right? I mean… it’s Jenna for fuck’s sake.
You were hoping that the one saving factor in the situation was that everyone, to your knowledge, understood that Jenna was a Grade A bitch… Hopefully they knew to take her words with a grain of salt.
Regardless, you could see the way that people were tip-toeing around you. You weren’t oblivious to the stares that were masked by the sides of their faces. It made for a morning full of being self-conscious, and resultantly, a lot of mistakes. You were just ready for a reset.
Felix was feeling better today, so you had made plans with him, Anna, and Changbin to grab lunch from the cafeteria and head straight to rehearsal for the showcase. You wanted to make sure that everything was perfect. No stone left unturned. Neither of the boys had been in the room for vocal practice, so you went with Anna to collect your belongings before heading to the exit.
On your trek, you couldn’t help but watch Jenna’s movements in front of you. She’d all but dashed to the other side of the room at the end of practice. And now, here she was, walking around Chan with a hand running along his back.
‘Quick make up,’ you thought, rolling your eyes as you walked past.
As you and Anna hurried along to the cafeteria, you couldn’t get the scene out of your mind. You couldn’t help it. She was just so… icky. Chan’s her mentor and all, but there’s no way they’re close like that considering the way he scolded her earlier. He wouldn’t be. Not with her.
Hopping into the elevator, you took your phone out to send a quick text.
Before last night, you would have considered that bold. But after basically tongue-fucking Jungkook, you figured that was pretty mild. After all, honesty is the best policy.
After getting out of the elevator and meandering your way to the cafeteria, you easily spotted Felix and Changbin by the sight of Felix’s bright, freshly bleached blond hair sticking out from the crowd. They’d both been waiting next to the line so that the four of you could go through together.
“Thanks for waiting up!” Anna said as you approached.
“I would say you’re welcome, but we had a break while you all were in vocal lessons, and we kinda got hungry and already ate a snack,” Changbin admitted, clearing his throat with a sly grin.
“Just a snack?” Anna asked, cocking a brow.
“I mean it was supposed to just be a snack…” Changbin trailed off as he turned his head to look at Felix. “Before somebody got sidetracked.”
Felix shot his hands up defensively. “Hey, I couldn’t help it! You wanted it too, don’t lie!”
“Well now, I didn’t say that,” Changbin said quickly in his sarcastic tone. “The point is,” he pitched his voice up, “it was a good deal, so we brought fried chicken!” He reached his previously hidden hand from around his back, holding up a bag in victory. An open-mouthed smile was strewn across his face.
“You didn’t have to do that Bin!” you said, heart feeling warm from the action.
“He likes to spend money, take it while you can,” Felix laughed.
You and Anna both said your thank you’s before graciously taking the bag and going to the drink station. After filling up the disposable cups, your group made the trek back upstairs to your usual studio.
———
6 hours later, and you were finally starting to feel more confident. The routine was down, you and Anna had been hitting the vocals all night, and you felt like you’d finally gotten your groove. You’d already talked over what you would wear tomorrow and the general stuff like the fact that you’d rather have a hand-held mic. For the first time, you actually felt like a performer.
“Time for a break? I honestly feel like if we run through it a few more times, I feel really comfortable with where we’re at,” you said to the group.
“I agree,” Anna concurred.
“You guys have so much natural talent… really,” Changbin said, serious all of a sudden. “I know you said you don’t really care about the outcome, but I think you guys could really win this.”
You weren’t sure why, but something in his words made you nervous. Like now you had something to prove.
“You really think so?” Anna questioned.
“Yeah, I do.” Changbin replied. “Chan is helping judge tomorrow, so I’m gonna see if he knows more.”
“I’ll be honest, I’d be surprised if you guys aren’t winners of the whole show,” Felix said, also serious now. “I’ve heard JYP talking really highly of both of you.”
“Oh wow…” Anna whispered.
“I mean what…” Felix trailed. “We’ve all heard the rumors that he may be trying to put a group together out of this, and to like actually debut you guys. What do you think you’d say if it happened? If you won?”
“I’d say yes,” you heard Anna respond as your own voice strained out the word “no” in unison.
“Oh,” you giggled, looking at Anna. “I didn’t know you’d thought about it like that.”
Anna didn’t respond, she just looked down, seeming a bit embarrassed. Well, maybe not as embarrassed as falling off her footing. This was the first time in a very VERY long time you’d ever seen her respond this way about anything. You’d almost forgotten she was capable of it.
“I mean, it makes sense,” you went on, nudging her. “You’re a natural. You were chosen as leader after only a few days.”
“It’s true. I’ve never heard of anyone being named leader that quickly,” Changbin confirmed.
“You’d be crazy not to take it,” you smiled, earning a strong smile back from Anna.
“You’d be crazy not to take it too!” Changbin added, looking directly at you with wide eyes.
“Okayyyy,” you dragged you. “I know it could be ideal for a lot of people, but it’s just not my dream. It never has been. But,” you paused, knocking your shoulder into Anna, “I think I could settle with being an idol’s bestie,” you giggled again.
“You’d better be,” she joked. “But that’s *assuming I make it, and *assuming that’s what all of this is about.”
“Well I’d assume both,” Felix smiled with a look on his face you’d seen before. You could pin-point it exactly. The first time you’d seen him like this was the day he’d overheard you talking about wanting to make Chris jealous by going out with Jungkook. The menacing smile and the look that told you he had more answers than he could share.
You decided to leave it be. You didn’t want to push farther into it and get anyone’s hopes up. “We’ll see then,” you grinned. “Plus,” you began towards Anna, “I don’t know how well I’ll be received after all this talk about me catches up to JYP.” You mumbled it a bit, but didn’t care for the boys to hear. It wasn’t like the entirety of JYPE hadn’t been talking about you all day.
“Yeah…” Felix started, but couldn’t finish it, obviously feeling a bit awkward now.
“Listen, we’ve all seen the pictures and stuff, but it’d really nobody’s business. Don’t listen to what anyone has to say,” Changbin said steadily. “And if anyone gives you a hard time, tell them they’ve gotta get through your mentor first,” he puffed his chest out jokingly.
It earned a laugh from you. “I could’ve used that earlier today, but noted,” you said, trying to have it come across as light-hearted. As you stilled for a moment, you couldn’t help but add “It’s not true, by the way. What Jenna said. It isn’t true,” you looked down. You knew you didn’t need to prove anything to them, but you still wanted somebody to know.
“Sane people know that,” Changbin reassured you, reaching over to gently pat your shoulder. “Don’t let her ruin this.”
“I’m not, I promise,” you grinned up at him. “Just wanted you to know,” you looked back and forth between the boys.
———————————————————————————
Friday, 12 PM
Chan’s POV:
“Hey, can I talk to you?” Jenna came up behind a sitting Chan, a hand gently running along his back as she walked around him.
“I was about to head out to get some lunch. I thought we were gonna meet Alyssa and Jeongin at 2 to practice?” Chan questioned earnestly.
“We were, I just-“ she settled in front of him, “wanted to apologize about earlier. I shouldn’t have said what I did, and I’m sorry you had to get involved.”
Chan’s jaw tightened a bit. “That’s good of you, but you should probably say that to Y/N instead,” he responded, pushing his laptop into its case.
“I will! I just wanted to tell you too… I’d hate for there to be anything coming in between us,” she smiled flirtaciously.
‘Ahhh so that’s what this is about,’ Chan thought. It took everything in him to keep from looking annoyed, but he’d get his way out of it.
“No, we’re good. Just please make sure to keep things good with the others, okay?” he scrounged up.
“Absolutely! I’m really sorry…,” she looked down before quickly snapping her head back up with that same smile. “So meet at 2? Same spot?” she asked chirpily.
“Yep, I’ll be there,” Chan said, standing to his feet.
“Before, you go,” Jenna stopped him, “I heard a rumor that you were going to be helping judge tomorrow at the showcase?”
“Yeah, I am. But no one was really supposed to know that. Why?” Chan asked, shifting his weight.
“I was just hoping that… ya know, since we worked on this song together, that maybe I’d be able to get a good evaluation? I’ve been working so hard.”
“I can’t give extra points just because I helped with a song… Just do your best and it’ll be fine, yeah?”
Jenna blatantly did not like that answer. She leaned in closer, grabbing slightly to Chan’s arm. “I’d just really like to impress you,” she started in a low tone with a smile. “And if there’s… anything,” she let her eyes trail down the length of Chan’s torso before moving them back up, “that I can do to make sure of that, just say the word and it’s yours.” She squeezed on his arm the tiniest bit.
“What are you insinuating?” Chan asked.
“I’m not insinuating anything,” Jenna said, her voice innocent but teasing. “Just know I’d do whatever it takes to get on your good side. And I’d enjoy it,” she giggled before lightly pulling her hand away from him.
Chan couldn’t help the disgusted look that came across his face. It was purely reactionary. “Please just stop,” he scoffed, eyeing her down for a split second as he took a step back. He could tell that the rejection was about to make her boil over.
Jenna was hasty to be on the defense. Her eyes filled with a look of questioning, like she didn’t understand how he could possibly say no. “Why are you being like this? You hinted at something with us before?” She paused for a moment, obviously mad. “Is this about her? Y/N? You have a thing for her or something?”
“No, it’s not like that,” Chan countered quickly.
Jenna smiled, clicking her teeth. “Yeah, I’m sure,” she said sarcastically. “I saw the way you looked at her that night we all met up as a group. When you were supposed to be talking to me, but instead you were busier with her.” She threw her hands up. “What is it with her? I don’t know what kind of game she’s playing, but trust me, you’ll want to get out of it. Don’t come crying to me when you realize that.”
“What are you talking about?” Chan responded, crossing his brows.
“Listen, we can sit here and play ‘fake nice’ all we want, but we all know what I said about her earlier was true. From personal experience, trust me when I say I know what she’s up to with him. He may be your friend, but I promise you, I know way more about what he does than you do. You can paint Y/N as whatever character you want, but at the end of the day, she’s just his sloppy seconds. At least I have the courage to say it to her.”
Chan felt his head begin to spin. What did she mean by that? Sloppy seconds?
His mind wondered back to the beginning of the week, the first day that actual filming of the show began. How annoyed everyone was with Jenna prancing around holding a display of flowers to show off. As if anyone cared. As if it made her look anything but desparate for attention. As if she was calling out, “Someone look at me! Someone likes me!”.
But it had worked on Chan. Not because he ever cared about her, but because she was holding the same flower arrangement he’d specifically chosen for Y/N earlier that weekend. The arrangement he’d given to JK in a nervous, heart-broken rage. Jungkook hadn’t been there to see you. He’d been there to see Jenna. And to give her flowers apparently.
It’s not like the thought didn’t cross his mind, but this had just confirmed it.
But now… now Jungkook had you instead? Thoughts pounded in his mind about the tangled web he’d found himself in.
“Please, just go,” was all Chan could respond with.
After standing and observing him for a few more seconds, Jenna finally crosses her arms and huffed. “Whatever, but just know that you better not play favorites tomorrow. It would be pretty embarrassing on your end.” She gave one final eyebrow raise before turning on her heels to jet out the door.
Chan could do nothing but stand there, desperately trying to make sense of the information she’d given him.

GHOSTIN’
one fateful day a student from JYP University goes missing. Lee Minho is a dance major, on October 31, 2023 he goes missing. Luckily for him a journalism student cares enough to look for him with the victim’s friends.
master list
October 31, 2023, students were rushing out classrooms and study halls to get ready for parties or get-together’s, others were going to cafes with friends to get a warm coffee as the cold was starting to settle in. Minho on the other hand was going to his dorm, staying in deciding to work on whatever he felt like even after multiple attempts from his friends trying to get him to go to some stupid party.
‘Come on Minho, you never go out anywhere’ Hyunjin begged, ‘If you don’t I will literally die.’ Please, pretty pretty pretty please with a cherry on top’ Changbin dragged out. Minho could only look at him with a pout and said no. ‘Alright man see you tomorrow I guess’ Chan said as they walk away leaving him alone.
By the time he reached his dorm it was sunset, as he walked in he felt a shiver down his spine….like something bad was about to happen. “Felix are you here?” he called out but quickly realized he said he was going to the party at Yeji’s house. He dropped his stuff down and went to his room. There was really nothing to see; a bed, desk and night stand. He went into the bathroom and began to undress himself, stepping into the shower he felt water flow on his body, it was nights like these he enjoyed most, his thoughts being drowned out by the calming sensation of the water, comfort that came with being alone, he felt so at peace but he couldn’t get rid of the nagging feeling that something was wrong. Stepping out of the shower and getting dressed, he went into the kitchen and opened it the fridge. Empty. He groaned in annoyance and took out his phone to message Felix.
| theres nothing to eat
| oh mb i forgot it was my turn to get groceries
| it’s fine i’ll just get them myself
| omg ty i owe you
seen 9:55pm
He quickly put on some slippers and left for the supermarket. Walking down the sidewalk which was empty because of all the parties accruing, it was relatively easy to get to the store. Grabbing a hand-held cart he skimmed through isles getting the things he needed. By the time he left it was 10:20 and it was dark outside, light only being available from the flickering streetlights. Halfway back to his dorm though, his bag ripped and all his stuff spilled. a majority of it however was thrown into the forest which was much more farther away. Walking around he had managed to find most of his stuff except for his noodles which was the only ‘meal’ he bought. He walked deeper into the forest but couldn’t help but feel as thought it was wrong, he brushed it off ‘I’m just being paranoid, there’s nothing except deer in here’, he began to walk more but he didn’t even walk two steps before he heard rustling, he was in a clearing but surrounded by trees, whatever was there could see him but he couldn’t see it. Suddenly he heard a high pitched ringing, so loud he dropped everything to cover his hears and began to squint his eyes, not wanting to close them unless something was there. The noise was unusual, instead of coming from a specific direction it surrounded him and suffocated him. His heart was racing, his senses were overwhelmed. Then it stopped. The ringing stopped but what came was worse a seven foot tall being came to his view, it was made of charred flesh and bone, it’s head was what belongs on a boar and it’s fingers were long and sharp, sharp enough to kill….Minho couldn’t find it in him to move, to run to Yeji’s house and join the party even if his mind was scarred, he should have gone, he should have never stayed at home, he should have gone with Chan, Changbin, Hyunjin, and Felix. But he didn’t and now he was here, facing a monster. He felt cold so extremely cold, like all the blood left his body, he just stared, stared in fear as he wondered why he couldn’t move or why he didn’t go to they party. He stared as he saw the figure lunge at him and claw at his body, tearing his flesh and taking his life, he just stared, motionless, lifeless, dead. He didn’t even scream….

✦ Nome do personagem: Lee Vincenzo. ✦ Faceclaim e função: Felix - Stray Kids. ✦ Data de nascimento: 15/09/2000. ✦ Idade: 23 anos. ✦ Gênero e pronomes: Masculino, ele/dele. ✦ Nacionalidade e etnia: Itália, sul-coreano. ✦ Qualidades: Gentil, calmo e amoroso. ✦ Defeitos: Tímido, medroso e introspectivo. ✦ Moradia: Mount Olympus.

Pronunciations Guide
Hello dear mortals!
I realized that if I want to communicate with all of you, you would need a pocket guide for how to pronounce names and other oddities as I am introducing the beings that I humbly work for. As I am sure you are aware translating all of this from our ancient tongue to your common one can be quite difficult for a humble scribe, such as myself. Some of these names just do not translate into words that are easily pronounced in the common tongue. So please forgive me if I make any mistakes in the common tongue phonetical spelling. Now this is not a complete list, so I will be updating with new posts as I continue to translate and transcribe the day-to-day life of our favorite prophetic savior. The guide will be just under the cut.
your ever humble,
scribe to the councils

The Succubus [eleven]
Summary; hard times comes to those in hell, harder times for those below demons: humans and Succubus. Choi Sunny is both.
Genre; angst, some fluff
Word Count; 1.3k
Demon! Gang! Au
Don’t forget to check out @skzohmy s side of the story!
Sunny wanted to snap her neck in half. She was tired of the anxious waiting. She needed to know answers right then and there. She needed to know if Miso would come back to life. She forced her eyes from her corpse and looked to the small cut that the witches drawn to the palm of her hand. They witches had needed something from the cause of death, and it was all Sunny’s fault.
The whole room was filled with tense creatures, except for one that never seemed to care. Sunny lifted her eyes to look at Bang Chan, taking in his figure. He stood tall, and just his stance was intimidating enough. If Sunny never knew Chan personally, then she wouldn’t opt to stand next to him. Sunny’s eyes took in the way he would glance at his fellow demon, Changbin, and then look right back away. She tilted her head for a moment and glanced back at the witches. She wondered if they could really help her or not. Chan had told her that only he could get rid of his mark, but Sunny knew what his answer would be if she asked him. She would just have to figure it out on her own.
Sunny casted her eyes back to the corpse before looking around. There was one other demon that was no longer looking to see if Miso would rise. Sunny made eye contact with him and was taken aback with how strongly he held her eyes. The only other people to do that was Chan and Miso. The eyes of the demon were surprisingly warm, and it took all Sunny’s strength to look away. She felt the grip on her wrist tighten and looked back at Chan. But he wasn’t looking at her. He was glaring at the demon with the warm eyes.
Her heart fluttered a bit and she couldn’t help the small smile that took over her face. The big scary demon did care some about her, even if he didn’t really show it.
A loud gasp brought her back down from her thoughts. Her head snapped to the side and her eyes flew around until they met the figure that was slowly sitting up. Sunny took a cautious step back and slightly hid behind Bang Chan. She studied the way that Miso looked around, confusion written all over her face, consuming her features. Then she looked like she was gasping for air. Panic struck her face and her eyes darted around wildly.
“Baby,” Changbin had rushed to Miso’s side and was doing his best to comfort her. “Calm down.” He had whispered but it was still loud enough for everyone to hear.
Sunny stood back and watched their little reunion. She moved her eyes away from them and gave them their own privacy. Changbin and Woojin both informed the newly born demon about what had happened. She died but the witches brought her back to life as a demon. That kind human was gone, Sunny noted. No longer would she have someone so kind talk to her again. She’ll find out the chain of demons and strengths and turn out heartless like the others.
Sunny looked to the witch Nayeon and saw that she was alone. This was her opportunity to ask her about her mark. To ask the witches if they could get rid of it and she could finally be free. She looked around to see if anyone was paying attention to her, but they were all talking to the new demon. She knew that this would be her only chance. She took a brave step forward and sucked in a deep breath. But she was pulled back.
“Don’t.” Bang Chan warned her, pulling her back to his side.
Sunny’s heart dropped: she totally forgot that along with fire, he could also read minds. He knew exactly what Sunny was thinking and what she had planned in her mind. He knew that Sunny was going to ask the witches to free. And he probably already knew that was she was going to go to earth without his permission. He just didn’t care. Her heart found a place in her stomach and her eyes casted down to study her shoes. She just wanted to hide away and never be seen again, or better yet, to be dead and not brought back to life by the witches.
“Take us home.” Chan instructed, his eyes burning holes into her skull.
Changbin lifted his head and looked to his leader. He nodded before helping Miso stand. Then, in an instance, they were back in that dreadful house. The grip around her wrist seemed to tighten more than it was and Sunny knew that she would acquire new bruises. She looked around, once again meeting those warm eyes, then she looked to the stumbling figure. Miso caught her footing, and, in that moment, the two girls made eye contact. Sunny took a step back from the demon in fright. She quickly broke the eye contact and studied the lines at appeared on the carpeted floor.
Sunny heard the pitter patter of Miso running down the hall before she was pulled in the opposite direction. It was time for her to be going back to her own room where she’ll be staying for a long time. She let the ruthless demon leader take her back to the room, pushing her inside before slamming the door behind him.
“What were you thinking?!” Sunny flinched back from his sudden yelling and refused to make eye contact. “You disobeyed me! What good was buying you if you’re never going to listen to me?! I should just put you back on the streets and see how long you survive that way!”
Sunny gulped and nervously began to play with her fingers. Bang Chan hadn’t bought her all those years ago. He had found her in an alley and offered her a position if he kept her fed and off the streets. But things were different then and the two became very intimate; however, that demon was long gone and didn’t give an ounce of his time to the succubus. Sunny only nodded at his words and agreed with him. She hadn’t been listening to him recently.
“And you had the nerve to try to ask the witches for help?” Chan gripped Sunny’s jaw and lifted her head to look at him, “You’re stuck with me, doll, and nothing is going to change that. No one is going to take you from me.” Then his other hand ripped at her shirt until the charred scar was available to eyes, “This is never going away, you better start embracing with pride.”
Sunny only gulped and nodded her head. Her eyes were blurring but she didn’t want to give him the satisfaction of seeing her tears once more. His eyes studied her face before he dropped her to the ground. He glared down at her before he let out a scoff and walked back to the door.
“I have some work to finish, when I come back I except you to be cleaned up and out of those rags.” Chan spoke and walked out the door.
She only nodded once more and once he was out of sight, the sobs escaped her. She was never going to be free. With all the strength that she could muster, she lifted her body to shut the door all the way. That’s when she saw them: the warm eyes from earlier. He held eye contact with her before nodding his head and walking away. Confusion ripped through her as she shut the door, but there was one thing for sure. Lee Felix had just caught Sunny’s attention.

The Recipes We Can’t Wait to Cook From This Fall’s Best New Cookbooks - Grub Street
The fall cookbook lineup. Photo: Stella Blackmon/New York Magazine Fall is just a few weeks away and with that comes the energy to take on new projects or cook elaborate meals for the hell of it. Nothing goes better with that renewed sense of momentum than a new cookbook, and lucky for us, this is the time of year when great new cookbooks come out on a near-weekly basis. Grub combed through the dozens of cooking guides arriving between now and November and looked for the recipes we’re most excited to cook in our kitchens over the next few months. Here are the 12 cookbooks most worthy of your bookshelf.
A Place at the Table: New American Recipes From the Nation’s Top Foreign-Born Chefs The recipe: Shrimp-and-okra pancakes and charred-scallion dipping sauce Why: Because Korean-Creole crossover cooking is our new fall vibe. The beauty of this book is that whether you cook or not, it’s worth the purchase. First and foremost it’s a book about how some of the country’s best immigrant chefs made it in America, like Café Boulud chef Jae-Eun Jung, who was born in Korea, ended up cooking for Queen of Creole Cuisine Leah Chase, and then landed a coveted position at Le Bernardin. Here, all of those experiences blend into her shrimp-and-okra pancakes and charred-scallion dipping sauce. It’s just one of dozens of recipes, with other contributions coming from chefs Dominique Crenn, Edward Lee, Michael Solomonov, Daniela Soto-Innes, and others. Out September 24
Mixtape Potluck Cookbook: A Dinner Party for Friends, Their Recipes, and the Songs They Inspire The recipe: Vietnamese braised pork belly Why: Because where else will you find Eric Ripert and Q-Tip in the same cookbook? Of all our food-obsessed celebrities, Questlove is definitely the most connected. And that’s on full display in this new compilation of recipes from his friends in both Hollywood (Maya Rudolph, Fred Armisen, Jessica Biel, Natalie Portman) and the food world ( Eric Ripert, Greg Baxtrom, Kwame Onwuachi). And did we mention Martha Stewart wrote the foreword? The Roots drummer avoids recipes that are overly complicated — like this dead-simple recipe from D.C. chef Kevin Tien — making Mixtape Potluck much more accessible than most chef-y cookbooks, plus there’s a premade party playlist at the very end. Talk about a one-stop potluck shop. Out October 15
South: Essential Recipes and New Explorations The recipe: Crowder pea and hominy succotash Why: Because Sean Brock still has a lot to say about southern cooking. The last two years saw chef Sean Brock leave his Husk restaurant empire, give up alcohol, and welcome his first child. Accordingly, Brock is in the midst of a transition from hellraiser to torchbearer, and in this follow-up to the James Beard Award–winning Heritage, he achieves that with a guide to the foundations of southern cooking, like deviled eggs, smoked pork, and fried green tomatoes. But don’t sleep on the more obscure recipes, like this hominy and succotash dish. This is where Brock shines, bringing the South’s most obscure recipes to national light. Out October 15
The NoMad Cocktail Book The recipe: The Loisaida Avenue Why: Because it’s the ultimate guide to a very special genre of cocktails: hotel lobby drinks. The NoMad Cocktail book has actually been around since 2015, when it came as a part of The NoMad Cookbook, essentially making it the speakeasy of the drink-book world. But come next month, that will change with the official release of this illustrated guide by bartender Leo Robitschek, featuring recipes from the 2015 version as well as 100 new concoctions he’s put together. This sweet-and-smoky cocktail feels the most on trend, featuring jalapeño-infused tequila, mezcal, Angostura bitters, Chartreuse, lemon juice, and simple syrup — and it’s definitely worth making at home. Out October 22
Pasta Grannies: The Official Cookbook: The Secrets of Italy's Best Home Cooks The recipe: Domenica’s Raviole di valle Varaita Why: Because Italy’s best cooks are its grannies. In 2014, Vicky Bennison decided she wanted to learn how to cook at the elbow of an Italian grandmother, a project that became a super-popular YouTube channel and Instagram where she showcases so-called “pasta grannies” with names like Sperandina and Graziella. Next month, Bennison will release a book featuring all the recipes she’s compiled over the years, including this raviole (actually a type of gnocchi) made with old potatoes, light cream, Parmigiano Reggiano, and a boatload of butter. Out October 29
The Saltwater Table: Recipes from the Coastal South The recipe: Cumberland paella Why: Because the real seasons are Oyster, Vegetable, Shrimp, Heat, and Smoke & Cedar. The southern coast is long, stretching from Virginia to Georgia. More specifically, Cumberland Island, Georgia, where chef Whitney Otawka runs the Greyfield Inn (after stints at Hugh Acheson restaurants in Athens, Georgia). Though Otawka grew up in California, she’s spent the last decade learning the language of southern seafood. Accordingly, this book is divided into that region’s seasons, including oyster season (January through March), heat season (June through August), and smoke and cedar season (October through December). Though there are plenty of non-seafood options, the book shines when it digs deep into the region’s briny history and puts a spin on it, like with this paella featuring shrimp, flaky fish, littleneck clams, and Carolina Gold rice. Out October 22
Pastry Love: A Baker's Journal of Favorite Recipes The recipe: Apple-cider sticky buns Why: Because this is the new apple-cider doughnut. For her second book, Boston baker Joanne Chang dives into the recipes she loves personally, like strawberry slab pie, fig danishes, and the butter mochi she first tried in Hawaii. But if there’s one thing Chang is famous for, it’s her sticky buns. So you can bet we’ll be baking her apple cider take, which Chang claims are even better than the original recipe. Out November 5
The Gaijin Cookbook: Japanese Recipes from a Chef, Father, Eater, and Lifelong Outsider The recipe: Bagels with Japanese-ish fixings Why: Because this is how you embrace another culture without completely ripping it off. It takes a lot of chutzpah to write about Japanese cooking as an American, but if anyone’s qualified, it’s Ivan Orkin. In The Gaijin Cookbook, which gets its name from the Japanese equivalent of “gringo,” the chef embraces the fact that despite his incredible love of and appreciation for Japanese culture, he will never truly be Japanese. That being said, he’s learned a few things after running successful restaurants in the notoriously insular country. The book covers a lot of the basics — think tonkatsu, okonomiyaki, and ramen — but where it shines is with recipes like this Japan-inspired take on bagels, including cream cheese with powdered seaweed and shiso gravlax. It’s just simple enough to try out the next time you have the gang over for mimosas and bagels. Out September 24
Jubilee: Recipes From Two Centuries of African-American Cooking The recipe: Chicken and dumplings Why: Because this is how you share the history of African-American cooks. Back in 2015, Toni Tipton-Martin — the first black woman to hold a food editor position at a major publication — published The Jemima Code a compendium of two centuries of African-American cookbooks. Now, she’s turned all that information into Jubilee, which adapts many of the recipes she came across in her research for the 21st-century cook. Expect classic recipes like sweet-potato casserole and wilted greens with bacon, as well as this killer recipe, the epitome of comfort food. Out November 5
Nothing Fancy: Unfussy Food for Having People Over The recipe: Coconut-braised chicken with chickpeas and lime Why: Because Alison Roman has managed to put together another eminently cookable book. It’s impossible to predict exactly which recipe in Alison Roman’s new cookbook will be the next Instagram superstar. Instead, Grub is excited about recipes like this one, because it exemplifies that classic Roman approach to cooking: well-known ingredients rearranged in interesting and compelling ways for young home cooks who want food that looks (and photographs) as good as it tastes. Out October 22
American Sfoglino: A Master Class in Handmade Pasta The recipe: Triangoli with pumpkin, butter, and sage Why: Because here’s your chance to see into the kitchen of L.A.’s pasta king. When Evan Funke materialized in the national food consciousness in 2017, operating out of a bigger-than-it-looks restaurant on Venice’s trendy Abbot Kinney Boulevard, Los Angeles had no choice but to bow to his pasta prowess. Two years later, it’s still basically impossible to get a last-minute reservation at Felix Trattoria, and why not: Funke is producing some of the freshest and most beautiful pasta west of the 405. But the man isn’t stingy with his knowledge. Just as he went to Italy and learned the art of pasta-making, he hopes you’ll learn from him in this book, with step-by-step instructions and detailed photographs of 15 pasta shapes from strichetti to cestini. Braver folks may want to jump right into the caramelle with artichoke, but we say start simple, like with this autumnal pasta recipe. Out September 24
Amá: A Modern Tex-Mex Kitchen The recipe: Kielbasa and potato scramble Why: Because who can resist a chef-y take on our nation’s greatest cuisine: Tex-Mex. Chef Josef Centeno made his name slinging Spanish-Mediterranean fare at his flagship L.A. restaurant Bäco Mercat, but at one point or another, all chefs return to their roots and the food they grew up eating. Centeno did just that with his Tex-Mex cantina Bar Amá, which the late Jonathan Gold once praised for its puffy tacos and sopa seca with kielbasa and octopus. Now, you can cook your way through the restaurant, including Centeno’s scramble, which is comprised of much more than its name implies (think: yellow onion, serrano chile, avocado, and two kinds of chilis), making it, as the chef points out, the perfect filling for homemade breakfast tacos. Out October 1

8 Famous Artists Who Turned Heartbreak into Art
Auguste Rodin couldn’t bear it when an argument temporarily ruptured his romantic relationship with fellow sculptor Camille Claudel. “In a single instant I feel your terrible force,” he wrote to her in a passionate 1883 letter. “Atrocious madness, it’s the end. I won’t be able to work anymore…yet I love you furiously.”
But Rodin did work throughout their volatile romance, creating some of his most desperately passionate sculptures, including both The Kiss (1882) and The Eternal Idol (1890–93).
Like Rodin, countless artists throughout history have channeled feelings of heartbreak into their work. The resulting pieces run the gamut from impassioned and cathartic to deeply mournful. Below, we explore how artists from Edvard Munch to Frida Kahlo to Felix Gonzalez-Torres have responded to the agony and upheaval that follows losing a lover.
Frida Kahlo, Little Deer (1946)
La venadita (little deer), 1946. Frida Kahlo MCA Chicago
“I suffered two grave accidents in my life: one in which a streetcar knocked me down.…The other accident is Diego,” Frida Kahlo said in a 1951 interview. Kahlo was referring, of course, to her husband and fellow artist Diego Rivera, with whom she had a deeply volatile relationship. Their marriage toggled between passionate highs and bitter lows; the latter were often inspired by Rivera’s insistent cheating, and infidelity on Kahlo’s part, as well.
Nearly 10 years after they married, Rivera began an affair with his wife’s sister, an indiscretion Kahlo couldn’t tolerate. The two artists temporarily divorced in 1939, a year when Kahlo also painted The Two Fridas,a direct response to the split. The masterful canvas presents two self-portraits: the Kahlo loved by Rivera, and the Kahlo dismissed by him. One figure, which holds a small pendant depicting Rivera, boasts a heart that is intact and full. The other holds a pair of scissors dripping with blood; a hole in her chest reveals only the remnants of a maimed heart. Other later works, like Little Deer (1946), might also refer to the pain inflicted by the relationship, as well as Kahlo’s immense physical suffering from the numerous surgeries she underwent during her life.
Edvard Munch, Ashes (1894)

Norwegian Symbolist Edvard Munch routinely plumbed the depths of his own anguish, using it as source material for his work. Illness, existential woes, and the untimely deaths of loved ones informed some paintings; others drew inspiration from the tempestuous romances that marked his life. In the mid-1880s, when he was in early twenties, Munch met Millie Thaulow, an older, married woman whom he’d see in secret. He was infatuated with her, then devastated when she ended their liaison.
“An experienced Worldly woman appeared and I received the Baptism of Fire,” Munch wrote of their affair and its collapse. “I was subjected here to the whole Disaster of Love—and I was for several Years nearly mad.” Munch painted several works responding to the mind-altering heartbreak he endured. In Love and Pain (1893–94), a vampiric woman with flame-red hair looks less like she’s embracing her ashen paramour than draining the life from him. Ashes (1894) explores a similar motif: A woman stands virile and triumphant in the center of the canvas, while a man cowers in enfeebled misery to the side. A charred log connects the two figures, alluding to the fiery demise of love.
Marina Abramović & Ulay, The Lovers: The Great Wall Walk (1988)
The Lovers, 1988. Marina Abramović Sean Kelly Gallery
Soon after meeting in 1975, Marina Abramović and Ulay began collaborating on performances inspired by the physicality, intimacy, and gender dynamics of their relationship. In Breathing in / Breathing out (1977), the artists locked mouths for almost 20 minutes, relying on each other’s breath to stay alive. Several years later, they conceived of their most ambitious work: Each would walk from opposite ends of the Great Wall of China, meeting in the middle to wed. But in 1988, when the time came to realize the piece, their relationship had disintegrated. “Now we were no longer lovers and, as seems to be the fate of romantics, nothing was as we had imagined,” Abramović later remembered. “But we didn’t want to give up the walk.”
As planned, the artists traveled for 90 days—walking a total of 2,500 kilometers—along the wall. When they met in the middle, they ended their relationship, then continued walking past each other to cement the act. “For her, it was very difficult to go on alone,” Ulay said of The Lovers: The Great Wall Walk, as they titled the piece. “For me, it was actually unthinkable to go on alone.”
Sophie Calle, Take Care of Yourself (2007)
Take care of yourself. Feist, 2007. Sophie Calle Perrotin
When French conceptual artist Sophie Calle received a break-up email from her boyfriend, he didn’t know it’d become fodder for her next project. At the 2007 Venice Biennale, Calle unveiled an exhaustive, mesmerizing dissection of her ex’s letter, titling it after his sign-off: Take Care of Yourself. The piece began as a form of therapy to soothe the heady mix of heartbreak, bewilderment, and shock that comes after a lover unexpectedly severs ties.
In an attempt to make sense of the email, she invited 107 women to“analyze it, comment on it, dance it, sing it…dissect it…[and] exhaust it” using their professional expertise. A lawyer applied methodology rooted in constitutional law, determining that he was “punishable.” A forensic psychiatrist assessed him as a “twisted manipulator.” A sharpshooter used the note for target practice. Performers like Feist and Laurie Anderson put his words to heart-thrumming music. “After one month I felt better,” Calle said of the catharsis that followed. “There was no suffering. It worked. The project had replaced the man.”
Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Untitled (1991)
"Untitled", 1991. Felix Gonzalez-Torres PinchukArtCentre
Conceptual artist Felix Gonzalez-Torres once described his oeuvre as “one enormous collaboration with the public.” Elements of his installations were meant to be happened upon, touched, disseminated, and taken home; the social concerns they addressed were amplified by human interaction.
This concept reached something of an apex in 1991, when the artist mounted a potent image on 24 billboards across New York City. It showed an empty, rumpled bed, where the impressions of two bodies were still discernible: deep, soft indentations in cloud-like pillows. Gonzalez-Torres made the work the same year his partner, Ross Laycock, died from an AIDS-related illness. The piece simultaneously addressed the artist’s personal grief and universal emotions like love, intimacy, and loneliness, as well as the politics surrounding the AIDS crisis.
Francis Bacon, Triptych–In Memory of George Dyer (1971)
Triptych in Memory of George Dyer, 1971. Francis Bacon Marlborough London
English painter Francis Bacon’s work seethes with the raw pain of agony and heartache, expressed through figures who wail and contort as emotions course through them. He created some of his most searing paintings in response to the 1971 suicide of his longtime lover, George Dyer.
Bacon had previously saved Dyer from numerous attempts to end his own life, but this time, he was unsuccessful. A series of triptychs showing Dyer’s knotted, suffering body represent the subject’s pain, as well as Bacon’s own feelings of guilt and unbridled grief. “It seems mad to paint people once they’re dead, since you know that, if they haven’t been incinerated, their flesh has begun to rot,” the artistonce said. Even so, he processed his despair by reviving Dyer on the surface of his tumultuous canvases.
Lee Krasner, Charred Landscape (1960)
Charred Landscape , 1960. Lee Krasner "Women of Abstract Expressionism" at Denver Art Museum, Denver
Between 1959 and 1962, Abstract Expressionist painter Lee Krasner made a series of immense, dusky, turbulent compositions sometimes called her “Night Journeys.” She embarked on them several years after her husband, famed drip-master Jackson Pollock, died in a car crash, and the canvases expressed an intoxicating mix of heartbreak and liberation.
“Let me say that when I painted a good part of these things, I was going down deep into something which wasn’t easy or pleasant,” she recounted to her friend Richard Howard in 1979. While wracked by grief, Krasner had also been freed from Pollock’s shadow and the pain of his insistent philandering. The dark slashes of paintings like Charred Landscape (1960) seem to represent both deep melancholy and untethered exuberance.
