it's criminal that ubisoft stopped making the murder mystery sidequests in assassin's creed ... they were sooo good in Unity and Syndicate... I understand that not every time period is appropriate for that but tbh they obviously just abandoned the idea altogether (along with every other innovation from Unity) and they never want to bring it back ... sad
#they were so enjoyable... Unity had lots of good ideas for side quests and then after syndicate they stopped doing all of it#ofc it's also criminal that the parkour and assassination movements from unity were also tossed aside ...#they introduced all these really cool innovations and then tossed it aside after making just one more game with them#they got so close to perfection ... the perfect experience of assassin creed and then they immediately said ''yeah nah actually lol"#dreadful crimes#murder#assassin's creed#Assassin's Creed Syndicate#AC#Syndicate#Assassin's Creed#Unity#Assassin's Creed Unity#ubisoft#ac mine#my thoughts#my post#my posts#text post#textposts

This website mines information through your device such as your phone or computer. According to what is known, in the future you can sell a product (electronic currency - encrypted token) after you collect points. I mean, it will have value over time, of course, according to what they say. The intention of this topic may be of benefit to some people. Currently, there is no payment of money to collect points or tokens. good luck for everbody. comments: - Every person is responsible for his own decisions. - It may cause the device to heat up when data mining is working relatively. - Search for a website or check the link before entering. I mean, there are websites that check links.
note: Of course. Everyone is responsible for their own decision. I am not responsible for what happens to you. So research more before making any decision.

Electrochemistry helps clean up electronic waste recycling, precious metal mining
A new method safely extracts valuable metals locked up in discarded electronics and low-grade ore using dramatically less energy and fewer chemical materials than current methods, report University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign researchers in the journal Nature Chemical Engineering.
Gold and platinum group metals such as palladium, platinum and iridium are in high demand for use in electronics. However, sourcing these metals from mining and current electronics recycling techniques is not sustainable and comes with a high carbon footprint. Gold used in electronics accounts for 8% of the metal’s overall demand, and 90% of the gold used in electronics ends up in U.S. landfills yearly, the study reports.
The study, led by chemical and biomolecular engineering professor Xiao Su, describes the first precious metal extraction and separation process fully powered by the inherent energy of electrochemical liquid-liquid extraction, or e-LLE. The method uses a reduction-oxidation reaction to selectively extract gold and platinum group metal ions from a liquid containing dissolved electronic waste.
In the lab, the team dissolved catalytic converters, electronic waste such as old circuit boards, and simulated mining ores containing gold and platinum group metals using an organic solvent. The system then streams the dissolved electronics or ores over specialized electrodes in three consecutive extraction columns: one for oxidation, one for leaching and one for reduction.
“The metals are then converted to solids using electroplating, and the leftover liquid can be treated to capture the remaining metals and recycle the organic solvent,” Su said. “The stream containing the organic extractant is then pumped back to the first extraction column, closing the loop, which greatly minimizes waste.”
An economic analysis of the new approach showed that the new method runs at a cost of two orders of magnitude lower than current industrial processes.
“The social value of this work is really its ability to produce green gold quickly in a single step, greatly improving transparency and trust in conflict free recycled precious metals,”
said postdoctoral researcher Stephen Cotty, the first author of the study.
Su said one of the many advantages of this new method is that it can run continuously in a green fashion and is highly selective in terms of how it extracts precious metals. “We can pull gold and platinum group metals out of the stream, but we can also separate them from other metals like silver, nickel, copper and other less valuable metals to increase purity greatly – something other methods struggle with.”
The team said that they are working to perfect this method by improving the engineering design and the solvent selection.

Randomly decided two days ago that i’d make a bill cipher cuff with a moving/different eye. I took forever thinking about how id get it to actually function but ive settled on this: small rotator with bumpers, and a multistitch cuff of bill with a hole for the eye to show through will be sewn to the rotator.... And then hell have a cool eyeball!!! It was a pain making an xbase with a hole in it and most of this wont be visible at all. but its sooo freaking worth it this looks really good so far ~

in 40 minutes it will be Monday meaning it's a day closer to Friday the day I get to go back to that bus stop again and see if that brown widow is still there
#for a class i need to catch Spiders this time. instead of insects. i need to make a spider collection#and there's a specific bus stop. that i looked underneath the sitting area of. and behold. Widow.#and i'm like ohhhhhh m y god. widow. how do i get her.#she's a BIG. mama. big big mama. large.#how get her. where she don't get me. i will need to be innovative here.#i have a week to brainstorm. and then she will be mine.#clamtalk#bugposting#if in a week i get bitten by a widow i will let you guys know. 👍 it will NOT be as bad as a black widow bite if i do get bitten#but i get to trick people by saying ''oh yea i got bitten by a widow'' if i do. so. man.... the possibilities

Anyways. My fiance is the funniest person in the world 2 me and once we were playing a card game where you pretend to host a true crime podcast and everyone else “calls in” to solve the crime. And he started his turn with “Hi there, long time caller, first time listener” and I laughed so hard I hurt myself
#every once in a while that phrase will pop into my head and I’ll giggle about it for a while#a true innovation in comedy#mine#posts about nothing for no one

@dayrisen replied ; koto vc shall i make you a pair of tengu geta dearest gilly ?
ㅤㅤㅤㅤHmm.... He can agree that there is an air of elegance to them, yet he can't stop thinking about how impractical they would feel against those cold slippery tiles in Chaldea- Just by looking at them, he can almost feel as if they are shouting back at him 'I'm a hazard!'
Not that such a small obstacle even mattered to King Gilgamesh.
He would make them work, and the sand in his feet would no longer be an issue.
❝ FAIR ENOUGH KOTO, for this time, your king shall willingly try your recommendation. Bring me the royal geta you speak so grandiosely of then!❞
#he's also willingly ignoring her calling him gilly for the time being IEORHTIRUTHRIUTR#g.il vc: that shall be addressed at another time#BASICALLY THATONE MEME WHERE ON CCC HE WAS LIKE#hmh? a mine? very well; as a king; i would step on it#OLDJINHDFGDF LIEK NOOOOOOOO JUST BC UR A KING THINGS WONT GO UR WAYYYY#u think in his caster version he already learned from this but#sometimes its his old habits of trying innovative things#he's gonna end flat on the floor a.ss up

the most recognized as comedic song being the best part of the movie musical because the conventions that serve as a mode of communicating ideas, for example "people just bursting into song" or "choreography" or "'noticeably stylized' cinematography" that accentuates nonliteral nonrealism-invoking choices, are regarded as Silly or Frivolous. and the effort to shove everything else that's more "serious" into what is expected to be read as dramatic cinema that's not stylized in any ways that seem too "Genre" which only makes [but someone's singing?] underwhelming and out of place because no other elements are supporting it
#that plenty of Thee Establishment most concerned w/the commercial angle of musical theatre is also like ''musicals? is silly''#or rather is forever defensive about this. all the musicals you know tonys will be comfortable with b/c they're gently ''edgily'' Serious..#that old deh interview where p&p are like ''haha eugh we're not writing MUSICAL numbers musical numbers X'D this is serious this is real''#deh as a living room play....like don't get me wrong. all Critiques / dunks on deh the stage musical even deh the movie...are not the same#all mine are better and wiser. but actually really for example like ''ben platt old?? he hair a joke??'' are criticisms i reject lol#wait a second does anyone in the Stage Musical ever do any more dancey choreography than they do in sincerely me....probably not#remembering the great times of that jared goldsmith interview where they were telling him to walk less dancily in ywbf lmao#taking some chassés across the stage....finally looked up if ''sashay'' is just a misheard + phonetic ''chassé'' & yes#anyways and just connect this all to the broader issue of Any ''genre(tm)'' understood as like. Unserious. style that is so unartistic....#insert joe iconis talking about it. basically that if some Noticed ''unusual'' style usage is taken seriously it's presumed ''self aware''#such that it may be like; parody of; commentary on; homage to whatever Conventions....#like is a movie too associated with women as creators or audiences? some style choices that might seem to have some odd effect or w/e is#then just like wow guess this isn't good enough to be an experience i can completely intellectually disengage with as viewer....#whereas if it's Not ''''gendered'''' so associated enough w/men as creators & audience (not much room for ''&/or'' there) then like#oh that perhaps somewhat awkward noticeable Style Usage? that was innovative; fresh; if it's funny it's ''clever'' rather than comedic#Don't Even Get Me Started on comedy also being an unserious ''easy'' too-Genre(tm) lesser style / way to communicate ideas#but i'm already started! it's right in the premise! ppl not even noting Sincerely Me has any material About anything b/c like#well it's Just Funny. jared & alana are Easy parts b/c they're so often Funny & set apart from the Serious Drama of parental angst#i actually haven't seen that many movie musicals but the ones unembarrased about themselves are superior#plus the idea of Worthy funny/noticeably styleized things as being Distinguishingly ''Self Aware''....the idea of Being Funny as either#being Unselfawarely the butt of the joke; or awarely deliberately Clever as what makes one superior to others; laughing At them surely#and i'm right back as well to what i was musing on re: the limits of billions' own language and in turn the limit of ideas if it cannot eve#express otherwise / beyond....that worthiness is awarded with this Dignity backed by the elements of the medium as tv's discretion#versus if someone's undeserving & unserious; or usually deserving/serious but is messing up & we want you to notice; then#they Will be beset with some humiliation; probably at least more proximate to being Laughed At; material may go out of its way to do this#another thing is that billions seems to have so little to no room for anyone having a capacity to be Silly#people Being Funny On Purpose is largely making references or pwning another character; both establishing competitive Worthiness#another shift from 5x08 onward like. rian truly able to humor herself is gone with her desk clutter#the fate of winston's =] ness is found in 6x01 when both quants are being funny until rian's funniness goes [abuse coworker] mode#that illustration that Hierarchy generates a Joke; at someone's expense. characters (& the writing?) Can't do otherwise to him or fathom it

We have already averted truly apocalyptic levels of global warming.
Yes, read that again. Let it sink in. This is what the science now says. We have already averted truly apocalyptic global warming.
To quote David Wallace-Wells, author of The Uninhabitable Earth, from his huge feature in the New York Times:
"Thanks to astonishing declines in the price of renewables, a truly global political mobilization, a clearer picture of the energy future and serious policy focus from world leaders, we have cut expected warming almost in half in just five years... The window of possible climate futures is narrowing, and as a result, we are getting a clearer sense of what’s to come: a new world, full of disruption but also billions of people, well past climate normal and yet mercifully short of true climate apocalypse." (New York Times, October 22, 2022. Unpaywalled here. Emphasis mine. And yes, this vision of the future is backed up by the current science on the issue, as he explains at length in the article.)
So we've already averted truly apocalyptic warming, and we've already cut expected warming IN HALF in just the past five years.
The pace of technology, of innovation, of prices, of feasibility, of discovery, of organizing, of grassroots movements, of movements in other countries around the world, have all picked up the pace so fast in the last five years.
Renewable technology and capacity are both increasing at an exponential rate. It's all S-curves, ones that look like this:
-via The Economist, June 20, 2024.
How much more will we manage in another five years? Another ten? Another twenty?
I know the US is about to fucking suck about the environment for the next four years. But the momentum of renewable energy is far too much to stop - both in the US (x) and around the world.
(Huge shoutouts to India, China, and Brazil for massive gains for the environment in renewables, and Brazil for massive progress against Amazon deforestation.)
We're going to get there.
Say it with me. We're going to get there.
#me#made this it's own post separate from the stuff about dystopia#bc the literary theory side was important framing to me but it also kind of buries the lede#global warming#climate crisis#climate change#climate catastrophe#climate action#environment#climate anxiety#good news#hope
