I had a tiny picture frame that was empty so I drew a tiny Will and Mike for it. A mini Miwi, one might say.

okay confession. lately i've been trying to be more open minded with st ships (specifically the ones that are in the running to be endgame next season, y'all know who i'm talking about).

like since my twitter tl constantly has milven's takes, i've been trying to listen. but omg. how. do. people. think. byler. is. not. going. to. endgame. like the evidence is right there... i'll never understand. and i'm well aware this is coming from a biased perspective, considering that my blog is all about byler but oml. how do you see parallels (and i've seen arguments about byler parallels on twitter trust) and just say "nahhh that doesn't mean anything" or on the other side of the spectrum be like, "i see it but i don't see how this is going to contribute to those little gay boys being canon. stay delusional!11!!" at the end of the day, these are just theories and cool things people notice and everyone is entitled to love and hate the ship of their choice for whatever reason that may be, but i'm a very logical person and as soon as i see any type of good evidence that contradicts even the most instilled beliefs of mine, i'm not afraid to question it.

maybe i'm just being a hater trying to call anti bylers stupid (in the nicest way possible that i can think of), or the will byers hate on sttwt is actually driving me insane and those people need to pay, but whatever.... just a thought!

Idk how he became a teacher, for now the reason is cuz he was inspired by Mr. Clarke(?) and then he realizes it's really difficult to teach but he does enjoy being a teacher somehow hshshd

The first time he figures it out, he’s 13 and sitting in a rickety fold out chair in his middle school gymnasium, Will still dancing with that girl Mike had practically thrown him at. It’s this twisting pit of envy and desperation that sits in his gut like the vines that had grown through the tunnels under their feet. The ones that grabbed him by the leg and tried to pull him to his death. Except this time the vines are dragging him towards a very uncomfortable realization, and there’s no Steve Harrington that’s going to rush in and save him this time.

And so he sits there while everyone else dances, Dustin off somewhere out of his line of sight, and he mopes. And then the vines in his stomach start twisting. And twisting. His face and hands feel  suddenly cold as he breaks his eyes away from his best friend and off somewhere in the mid distance.

He thinks about Will, standing next to him maybe five minutes ago, that steady certainty that it was going to be them standing off somewhere to the side as everyone else danced and they watched. That certainty was gone with that girl- Jessica? Maybe?- and replaced with something that felt a whole lot like jealousy… but it wasn’t jealousy of Will- it was- 

And then El walks in and he practically jumps out of his seat, shaking his head and trying to forget the way that he realized that he wishes he was Jessica right now. 

The thought fills him with something between dread and nausea as he swallows and stands up, walking towards El. He’d fix this. He’d fix this, and then no one would ever have to know. His wires just got crossed, is all. He’s fine. He isn’t…. He knows he isn’t. He can’t be. 

“You look beautiful,” He says, trying to smile, but he can feel how it keeps threatening to turn into a grimace. Because El is beautiful, isn’t she? He likes her, he does. So he smiles a little and flicks his head, hands still in his pockets as he asks, “Do you wanna dance?” 

“I don’t know how…”

“I don’t either, do you wanna figure it out?” 

Her smile makes him happy, her little nod does , too. So he takes her hand and leads her out there. But- God, something is wrong with him. Dread settles back in, so he does his best to ignore it. But he can feel Will’s presence near him as he tries to figure out where to put their hands. It’s like he takes up the whole room. It takes everything in him not to look over, just to see if Will’s still smiling at that girl or not. Somehow, miraculously, he doesn’t. 

Every move you make, 

and every vow you break, 

every smile you fake, 

every claim you stake, 

I’ll be watching you

And he can see the way El’s looking at him as the song comes to a crescendo. So he leans forward, eyes still on hers, and he kisses her. 

I look around, but it’s you I can’t replace 

I feel so cold and I long for your embrace

I keep crying, baby, baby, please

El is pretty, she kisses him back, she’s dancing with him. He wants that. He wants to want that, and in that moment it feels good enough. Like maybe if he just tries, maybe it’ll work itself out. He’s normal. He’s kissing a girl. It’s only a split second, but. He’s normal. He has to be. 

He can feel Will’s eyes on him as the song ends. He doesn’t look back.

oh god um . i think honestly miwi because mini byler is everything to me ,,, they're so fun to write and its nice thinking abt them as little children before they were Traumatized and hurt by the ideas of ppl who were homophobic to them for being clingy bsfs . bc you see the idea of miwi bandaging each other up from falling off the swings simply hits different than byler bandaging each other up from monster scars . you understand

overall tho i think its keep glowing (come back) bc um. again. miwi. its the one i reread the most and its the fic i dont actually have any problems with at all,, except for the last scene. but other than that !! yeah :)
