God I really want more Minecraft mob variants the way they did with wolves and cats, like there's so many different kinds of chicken out there and we only get bland white ones? Same goes for cows! I get it with sheep since they can be dyed but but come on the most cows have is the mooshroom and the chicken gets nothing!

I want a brown cow and a black-brown chicken, they're literally so common irl!

there is something truly profound about minecraft, and i can’t place it but being in that never ending expanse is something akin to running into the woods as a kid, like you know you’ll run into the same things; Moss, tress, holes that lead into earth and animals that were here before you.

Yet i think minecraft takes that feeling and expands upon it. You’re finding the same structures yes. but never without it’s fair share of differences and challenges. some of my fondest memories as a kid playing that game was when my friends and I would find wildly absurd world generation or incredibly unique ways the world would generate structures. Walls of cobblestone that reach the heavens made simply because a villagers house spawned on a cliff side.

Minecraft mobs don't feel like Minecraft anymore.

All of the mobs and their features don't fit in with the base game anymore and a big reason for that is mob drops. For a few years most mobs haven't had any drops at all. Sniffers were supposed to drop moss blocks, but they don't. Goats were supposed to drop mutton, but they don't. The new mobs like the armadillo aren't gonna drop shit. They're taking the ability to choose how to get materials away from the player in a sandbox game where the player should get to decide. I should be able to kill a goat and get some meat, or kill an axolotl and get some fish, but Mojang is so scared of encouraging players to kill any of the non-monster mobs that they won't even give them drops. I personally like to give my animals graves in Minecraft, and I have nothing of that animal to put in them unless it's a farm animal, and I feel like making mobs completely disappear when they die is crueler than giving them a purpose. Mojang is trying to make people play the game a specific way instead of allowing all play styles. which is fine if your game isn't a sand box. Make frogs drop slime, make dogs drop bones, and make Minecraft better. I do really really love Minecraft and I think it's in the best state it's ever been in but that doesn't mean it can't be better. (Also, add the fireflies back. if a frog can eat a goat, they can eat fireflies)

Was just thinking about Minecraft, specifically the DSMP, and how much I loved playing minecreft from like 2015 until 2022. Not a very old player, but i was there before the world of color update and the one with the woodland mansion. So, I'd say I'm pretty old.

But in my personal opinion, minecraft just stopped being fun after the caves and cliffs update. Like, i honestly, just stopped playing. I don't know what new updates there are, and right now, i don't feel that interested in playing anymore.

With all these like clay pots or whatever its just become way too complicated and also just generally boring. Like, i dunno if this is a hot take, but as a pocket user, im just really sad that i can't play on the older versions.

Like i have so much nostalgia for minecraft, but i judt can't anymore with all these new updates. Honestly, i wish they stopped updating the game and went back. The sinplicity of the game is what draws a lot of people. But now i feel like it's just too much.

Me and one of my older brothers (m) play games together a lot, one of these is mine craft. Andtl there is something he has done in one of our worlds that I am still mad about. He has killed my mine craft dog 3/4 TIMES, AND blew my house up(I spent so long building it). He did rebuild it for me but I'm still upset because I tend to hold grudges.

have yall have seen the cinematic trailers for mc updates? steve literally has a completely different personality. steve is just a silly lil guy. hes just a curious dude who loves building and exploring! hes not jack black, or a wackjob who went crazy from being isolated for too long. he loves and parktakes happily in the world hes in.

i know we only saw one real scene, but i can already tell that jack black is not going to be playing steve minecraft, he is just going to be playing jack black. its so intensely disappointing when they had the opportunity to employ a new actor to bring to light like. imo steve minecraft should have been cast as just an average looking guy. just some random dude. BC THATS LITERALLY WHAT HE IS.

Okay I thought about that birch forest concept art that the Minecraft team showed during the wild update development and just recently realized it’s so dumb that they tried playing off not having it in the game as “oh it’s just concept art”, like if it was just a concept and not something you’re actually planning on implementing DONT SHOW IT IN A LIVESTREAM WHERE YOUR TALKING ABOUT AN UPCOMING UPDATE? Like it was poised perfe as a “we haven’t developed it yet but here’s concept art of something we wanna add” and when it ended up not being in the update they acted like it was never meant to hint at anything? Idk man it just kinda pisses me off how disappointing recent Minecraft updates have been and how shit the Minecraft team seems to be at probably communicating with their community how they say they want to like with the recent changes to the copper bulb and crafter that completely ruin most of the unique red stone uses they had when first introduced.

Yes. That's the point. That's GOOD actually. My little brother needs to be able to play minecraft as much as I can. It's a sandbox game, not an RPG. You can create difficulty and add challenge and modify files! Those are features in the game and regularly adjusted for just that purpose. But the base game is meant to be accessible and universal.

Especially when a lot of "content" comes in the form of professionals, people who earn a living being good at the game and have hours a day to put into it, our perspective is skewed. I love the hermits, but any time they say a farm "only took two hours" to build? I cringe. When hypixel pvp creators talk about how lame netherite makes vanilla gameplay, I sigh. And when someone complains that it's too easy to cheese a mechanic or obtain a villager trade I kind of want to scream.

It's easy *for you*. It's boring *for you*. It's not that it needs to change drastically, you just need to approach it differently. You have a moral objection to how "easy" it is to get a mending villager? Make the rule for yourself that you can only get mending from the loot table. You think elytra take the fun out of travel? Don't use it.

And before you say "well can't they just use accessibility features to make it easier?" NO. That's not the point of those features. Accessibility features that disable quicktime events or remove puzzles aren't to make a game easier, they're to make a game PLAYABLE. Accessibility features in minecraft are to disable view bobbing, change the visual distortions, add directional subtitles....things that make the game playable to people who need them.

Basically, please chill the fuck out about minecraft being easy. If it's too easy and you can't come up with a solution for that, maybe it's just not a game you enjoy playing. Download a mod pack or go play something different.

every time i see someone claim that fireflies were scrapped because they're poisonous to frogs, i frown a lil inside like, that was just the nail in the coffin on something that they just did not have time for in 1.19. 1.19 was fairly crunched and meant to be small scope they just showcased too many of their plans :P the firefly like... it wasnt known whether it should be a particle or a big mob like the bee. the particle is more ambient, and even assuming they had decided on it being a 2 pixel particle... well, is it a mob? is it a particle? how do you implement masses of particles on both editions without lag? sporeblossoms only produce particles when you're close to 'em! And I imagine mojang just wasnt happy with the state of them. with them being 2 pixels. they have a (sometimes to their detriment) high quality standard. but they clearly didnt have any concepts for what it would be like as an actual proper bee-sized mob done. and thats just... too much for what was a catch up update with a little cherry on top (mangroves) 1.19 wasnt perfect, but they had just come off one of the most stressful updates and were delivering the most like, intricate system a single biome will probably ever have (sculk) Whether you think thats good or not, thats for you to decide, but like. too many people call mojang lazy, i think the real fault is they try so so hard for such high quality and overwork themselves because of it, while outsiders see a "lack of new things" despite "big company" anyways, dont blame the frogs. if they had a clear idea of how to do fireflies, we wouldve had them despite them being poisonous.

I will give them that, the set designs and cgi is slightly better... clearly they put hard work into that and the sets looks really fun to be in

But this movie, every single joke made in both teaser and trailer is to make fun of minecraft. "Look how weird and stupid minecraft is" does nobody feel angry about this ?? Just me ?

Steve? Stupid. Short day cycle? Unnatural. The pink sheep? What the hell. Crafting? Thats a joke. Lava chicken farm? Look how dumb this is.

By making fun of the source material they're making fun of the players and fans of minecraft... if somehow the trailers are missleading and is a hidden masterpiece like how transformers one trailers were, maybe ill give it a chance but so far. Im not giving them money.

Another thing about the movie while I'm still thinking about it. Its so disappointing to me how little respect video games are treated with. The issue is not that you can't make a story out of a sandbox game, the issue is that the people making the games do not care about the games they adapt into movies. Legos have no story and that movie was a banger. There is so much you could do with Minecraft, so many ideas that could be explored but the Minecraft movie has no soul, it doesn't even really understand why people like the game to begin with. it's disappointing, especially after the Mario movie.

c!tommy is the epitome of humanity, he's been hurt and yet has hurt, he's loved and has been loved, his character is tragically ironic, from the beginning of his story wilbur (during the l'manburg arc) was the reason dream hated Tommy (in which caused all his dream related trauma), and being apart of the reason tommy lost his his friendship with tubbo, and then the only person he trusts at this point, his brother, is then manipulated by the enemy, the sole person they both hated was the reason wilbur was manipulated into hurting tommy again, and that's why he was so human, even people like Phil and techno hurt and betrayed tommy because they didn't see him for what he is, the way jshlatt didn't, wilbur didn't and dream CERTAINLY didnt, EVERYONE up until quackity didn't see him for what he is, a kid, and by the time he meets quackity the one adult who sees Tommy, the real tommy, the loud, playful, gentle kid, he's manipulated back into the same abusive cycle as before, it's sad how everyone around him removed Tommy's humanization from him, they dehumanized him, they saw him as an enemy or a pawn, not a teenager and that's why he's so tragic, time and time again he's hurt and for reasons he could never control, and thats why when he was driven to the point of suicide during the exile arc it was so much sadder, because Tommy is so remarkably human, and so tragically a child
