skipping over day 8 as i didn't have any good ideas for it lol day 9 - relationships I mentioned them earlier, but here's Liin's friend, Baa! Baa found Liin while wandering around the countryside one night, and while they initially tried to get away from her, she trailed after them until morning came and she fell asleep. Baa, despite being very much a loner and not interested in company, didn't want to leave a child alone so they stayed until she woke up. And then the two became best friends and now they meander around the minecraft country side making flower crowns and trying to find Liin's parents lol

I have brainrot about piglins, but it’s mostly one in specific. This is him— Flintbairn of Bastion Glowstone 23b… my homeboy, my sweet cheese, my good time boy. You know. Anyways, he started as an NPC for an in-game scavenger hunt I made with a bunch of redstone on a server a while back, and he evolved from there.

Flint got trapped in the overworld one day when his portal exploded behind him, leaving him with a heck of a scar and a pretty nasty case of advanced zombification. Luckily, he’s been able to stave it off for the most part with his knowledge of potions, but his supplies can only last so long. He’s hoping to find either a solid cure or to find a way back home before he completely loses himself— only a matter of time.

He’s kind of in a liminal space for me, always in the overworld and not quite zombified because I never got to finish his questline before the server shut down, alas. He’s pretty sweet and is a caretaker for the young piglets back home, but he helps around where needed.

Anyways. This guy I rotate in my head all the time. Constantly. Look at him. Ask me about him, but be warned, I will not shut up about him

This used to be an ask blog, but now its used for just doodling my ocs :0) here are my two main ones!!

On the left is Ace, (40yrs, she/her, villager) a weapon smith from a Savanna village! After her mother disappeared when she was younger, she was raised by the whole village and taught to take up her mother's old job. She's dreamed of running off from the village. She's loud, happy, spontaneous and imaginative as she is stupid. Her story revolves around traveling with an enderman named Delta (she/they), searching for her mother as Delta has expressed her knowledge of her. She cannot communicate directly with Delta, as Delta is mute. Delta can understand Ace though, and helps her on her journey. They are stoic, cold, and incredibly intelligent.

On the right is Briar, (38yrs, he/him, piglin) a small scientist hailing from the Nether. Obsessed with potions and zombification after an incident involving the loss of his arm when he was younger, he in incredibly intelligent, deadpan, quiet, antisocial, and curious. A war had begun in the Nether, a wither skeleton by the name of Rose (she/him) had torn through countless bastions with the goal to kill and enslave all the piglins she could before he had head to the Overworld. This was easy, as Briar had managed to fix a Nether Portal to collect and test zombification and potion brewing. After surviving Rose's assault, he regrouped and left for the Overworld, determined to put a stop to her destroying another dimension. Traveling in the Overworld he had met another piglin named Dagger (he/him) and his daughter Malo, (she/they). Who now help him with his goal of saving the Overworld.

Souls in the Sand: Concept Art

As I’ve mentioned here and there, I’ve spent the last two years developing an original story inspired by a small Origins+Empires server a few friends and I started planning. The more I developed plans for my empire to be a sprawling overgrown cityscape of ruins and stone framework inspired by the nether, the more I built up this backstory for the character I wanted to play, a small deerfolk boy named Esra. From there, and over months of working and reworking the story and its characters, I’m proud to say I’m coming up on a 100 piece gallery for my Masters Exhibition to display this story in the form of a song-inspired comic, titled: Souls in the Sand.

Over the next month and beyond the date of my exhibition in April, I wanted to start sharing my work here! I thought it would be fitting to first share all of the concept work I did for the characters last semester as I took each character from their old lineup and reworked them from scratch to see if there were any designs I could make more unique or appropriate for the story. This process consisted of four stages: silhouettes, full-body mock-ups, face and head shapes/designs, and experimenting with the final characters’ designs with a set of unique expressions that best fit their personalities and narrative role.

Since each character was reworked separately, the “new” concept lineup is a little disjointed (and some of the characters’ faces actually ended up different from their full-body designs), but I thought it would be fun to line them up to compare the overall cast to their old designs. With each character(s) I post the concept process for, I may share little bits of the work I’m doing or talk a little about their narrative roles as I go, but for now, have Esra!

I know I don’t post original work here often, but I wanted to share parts of this journey with you guys because it’s been very meaningful to me! And I hope all of the work I’ve been doing may at the very least serve as a bit of inspiration or encouragement for us to keep making silly minecraft stories, to keep drawing the characters we love, and to keep being creative in whatever way is meaningful! <3

VA'KHONSARIF, THE ENGINEER

Bio:

Va'Khonsarif, Engineer at the Crimson Peaks Village. She works inside of a little mushroom hut and helps any traveling Boargrim or Outsider with anything they need. Probably the kindest Boargrim you could find in the realm of Nehen'vur. If paid with golden ingots, she can repair your armor at her armory.

I don't like how A Minecraft Movie is writing piglins as an uncreative, evil race. It has me thinking about my piglin OC, who's an explorer.

His name is Toby :) He tried to go to the Overworld with a totem of undying, but he still turned into a zombie piglin. A village cleric found Toby wandering aimlessly and revived him. There's more to the story, but I'll keep it brief here
