Title: MY HG Blitz Gundam and my RG Freedom Gundam
I have a few Gunplas on my different shelves, especially with my siblings owned. And these two are still own these, to this day; the High Grade 1/144 Blitz Gundam, and the Real Grade 1/144 Freedom Gundam. 🤖🤖😁
As far as planning on buying Gunpla brand "Action Base", and a HG 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam Revive ver., I have no plans for now. And someday, I might be. 😉

I'm sending this to three T70s blogs! What are your very most controversial/unpopular That 70s Show opinions? To get the ball rolling, I'll confess a few of mine since I'm on anon and can't be attacked :) 1. I always shipped Jackie/Eric to the point where they're a true OTP of mine. I have no idea why. Usually when I ship non-canon couples, it's because they're very close friends whose personalities seem incredibly compatible to me...but Jackie and Eric aren't especially close (despite being in the same general group), and they don't seem very compatible or even to care about and respect each other that much. (Though Jackie's "hero" line melts me!) Tbh, it probably just comes down to the fact that Jackie and Eric are by far my two favorite characters. I love analyzing, writing about them, and envisioning how they might have worked if I conveniently ignore 97% of canon. I'm pathetic :) 2. I wouldn't really like Hyde in real life and don't think he was a particularly good romantic partner at all. (*ducks*) I mean, he was an improvement over Kelso, but who isn't?! I just think fandom idealizes him a bit too much. It's a matter of taste, though---the super 'edgy, rebel, proudly rude, 'duuude, I shoplift and smoke a lot of weed and would rather set myself on fire than eat in a mainstream chain restaurant' kind of guys just aren't my personal type :) 3. Sort of related to the first two confessions: I don't think Jackie and Hyde would make each other happy long term. They had some wonderful moments on the show, but I really just don't think they'd give each other what they want. 4. I don't really get how some newer fans turn Laurie into this root-worthy 'girlboss' who's just misunderstood- she's supposed to be unrepentantly, hilariously terrible, and she is! Sometimes it really is as simple as that :) 5. (*whispers*) More often than not, I enjoy Kelso. Obviously as a boyfriend to Jackie, but as a character who - for me - really does add a lot of humor and energy to the show. i can't wait to read yours, and please don't hate me for mine!
I agree with everything you said. Jackie & Eric are my true otp. And I don't really care for Hyde. He's actually my least favourite character.
Now for Laurie. Yeah, it boogles my mind how younger fans see her as a girlboss. She's not. Laurie is a horrible example of how a human being should behave. People can blame Kitty all they want. But even if she didn't slut shame her. Laurie would still have low self esteem. That's what happens when you live a destructive lifestyle.
Now here's my unpopular opinions
Making Hyde biracial was fucking stupid. The boys clearly Irish and that's why he has curly hair.
I don't like Brooke and Kelso as a couple
Fez is over hated
I would have preferred the storyline where Eric's a single dad
Eric had every right to punch David.
Jackie & Fez are not as bad as fans make them out to be
Most Jackie & Hyde stans are borderline psychotic. They didn't end up together. Get the fuck over it.

Don't you mean, obviously not as a boyfriend to Jackie?
To your points.
1. Jackie and Hyde can work long term, to me. They're stubborn, but they give eachother what they want. Love and stability.
2. I do think Laurie was mistreated by her mother and was unrightfully slut shamed. However, she goes beyond this, and willingly home wrecks. Ultimately, she falls back into her old patterns whenever things get hard. She has potential to be better, but she is morally grey, if you will. She is willing to do almost anything to get what she wants.
*****
Okay, now mine.
1. I've said this before, but I think T9S is worse than season 8. If only because season 8 is way easier to fix.
2. I tend to regard season 8 as canon, if only because it logistically meshes (unfortunately). Both post-season 8 and post-season 7 verses are canon. T9S is not, since it logistically clashes with both, in a huge way (*cough* sixteen year old Jay *cough*).
3. I do not think Jackie can truly overcome all of her conservative biases via Hyde. She would really struggle to accept a child that seriously strays from the norm. It sucks. It's one of those things where she outwardly accepts it, to be politically correct, but it's obvious that it's not how she really feels. She'd ultimately accept a gay or bi kid, but it would take her years to accept a trans/gender non-conforming kid. And even then, she still wouldn't get it/understand it.
4. Okay, T7S takes place in the past. Blatant historical anachronisms, to adhere to modern standards, do way more harm than good. It leads some readers to believe things were better than they actually were, which is a fucking disservice. I strive to be historically accurate, not just in material things, but in attitudes too. It varies from character to character, but still.
5. Jackie, for the most part, would be awful irl. I've met good Jackies in the past, but a lot of bad ones, too (*cough* family members *cough*).
6. Only Jackie, and maybe Fez, would be a Swiftie.

If you were a writer of That 70s Show, how would you have done it. Let me show you how I would’ve done it:
If I was a writer for this show, I would have written two episodes that showed how Red and Laurie’s bullying of Eric went too far.
One episode would’ve had Laurie throwing a huge party and inviting all of her friends from college. Then Eric drops in and Laurie, being the awful person that he is, deliberately spills a drink on him and tells him that everybody hates him. This causes Eric to run away, sobbing. Most of Laurie’s peers decide to stop being friends with her because, who would want to be friends with somebody who picks on her brother? Not me!
The second episode would’ve involved Eric running away to live with Jackie, causing everyone to look for him. After they found him, Kitty would’ve made Red and Laurie promise to never pick on Eric again.
And did I mention that Eric would’ve tried to end his life in both episodes, because what’s the point of living if your dad and your sister will never be kind to you?
Hi lmusicalmelodyl,
Thanks for the ask! If I were a writer on T70S, I would have changed Eric and Donna's arc in the second half of the series so it wasn't so repetitive, and so that they actually addressed the issues that drove them apart in season 4. I outline what I would've done differently in the second half of this essay.
I hear what you are saying about Red and Laurie's treatment of Eric. Laurie can be pretty mean to him, and Red was prone to take her side. We're certainly all entitled to our own interpretations of the characters and their motives, but I think mine differs from yours.
Eric can dish it out just as much as he can take it from Laurie. Personally, I didn't view the relationship Laurie and Eric had as a bullying dynamic, enabled by Red. I saw it as an (often antagonistic) sibling relationship where they each teased and burned each other, but both Eric and Laurie seemed to know the 'line' and didn't cross over into causing actual harm to one another. It was just sibling stuff. Often not very nice sibling stuff, mind you. But I found it realistic, and I wouldn't call it bullying.
The meanest stuff that comes to mind is actually stuff Eric has said to or about Laurie, not the other way around. He goes after her intelligence a lot, and her reputation for having a lot of sex to call her names. Names that Kitty often lets him call her or seems to agree with.
But at the end of the day, I don't think either Eric or Laurie are truly trying to cause harm to the other. I think they both actually care about the other deep down.
Eric, for example, in S2xE4 "Laurie and the Professor", has the chance to finally bring Laurie down in front of Red and expose her for dating her much older professor, but when the moment comes he hems and haws, tells Hyde "maybe I should let her off with a warning this time", etc. He doesn't really want to hurt his sister. He's having a hard time with it, now that he's presented with the perfect opportunity.
Eric also stands up for her in S2xE11 "Laurie Moves Out", when Red is upset to find her living with a guy. At first he is eager to join on the dog-pile, and makes a lot of jokes at Laurie's expense at dinner. But when he realizes Red is serious and sees that Laurie is really upset, he stops and says,
Eric: You know Dad it's not like she's hooking... or some other less... she's just living with a guy. And it is the '70s now.
Red: What are you babbling about?
Eric: Well, maybe, maybe I just think you're being a little hard on her.
And when Laurie returns in S5xE23 "Nobody's Fault But Mine", she's emotional and seems to have done some reflection. She tells Eric she's sorry for taking him for granted all those years and that she wants to help him. She's truly being kind in this scene. Granted, Eric has a hard time believing her, but she seems sincere - and she ends up giving Eric and Donna really good advice, to just leave town/move to Madison if Red and Kitty are harassing them about their marriage plans.
Sadly, shortly after that episode Lisa Robin Kelly (the actress who played OG Laurie) had to be written off the show, and the show chose to drop Laurie's storylines after trying to awkwardly wrap up the Fez/Laurie marriage story in early season 6 with the Laurie recast. So we never got to see Eric and Laurie's relationship as siblings continue to develop. I wonder how it might've changed, once Laurie was married to one of Eric's good friends?

My thoughts on That 90s Show
Okay, so this isn’t Kpop related but idc. I have thoughts on That 90s Show that was literally released on Netflix today (don’t get me started on how i’m not that big of a fan of the way Netflix releases shows), and i finished it just now.
Please keep in mind these are my opinions and you’re allowed to have yours and i’m allowed to have mine
I understand that there are many things wrong with the show. Ages, times, characters are off, etc. Personally, this doesn’t bother me. I looked at this show like it was a new show and not really a reboot but more as a sequel of sorts.
I’m also not really a critic of shows unless they are just awful. This show, i don’t feel like it is awful. I feel like it’s just an average show and it felt just like that.
I didn’t go into this show with the highest expectations. I never do with sequels/reboots of shows that i watched when i was younger, I feel like you’re setting yourself up for disappointment if you do. This show met those low expectations i had and even exceeded them. I thought the humor was pretty funny (but i do have childish humor), I thought the new cast of young/fresh actors did well, I thought those they brought back did well too!
There were times where, of course, I was confused about some things that the show did. Such as, as everyone is aware of, where Kelso’s daughter is, where’s Hyde in the universe, ages and times don’t make sense, etc. But i got passed that pretty quickly when i shifted my focus to this show being Leia and her friends’ show rather than it being T70S taken place in the 90s now.
That’s pretty much it…I’m probably forgetting some things but yeah.
TL;DR: That 90s Show has its faults but when you go in thinking of it as it’s own stand alone thing and not a continuation of That 70s Show, it’s actually pretty enjoyable imo.

I really enjoyed reading this.
I agree 100%.
Jackie and Eric sickens me personally (lol) but I support every T70S fan's right to explore it in fanfic or whatever avenue they prefer. And ultimately - it still generates interest in my favorite fandom, so I think that's a win-win.
I have good friends who I differ with when it comes to our interpretation of the characters, of canon. But I respect them and respect their viewpoints/opinions, even if I do not personally agree. We can agree to disagree. My opinion doesn't have to be yours. Your opinion is still valid, as is mine. We all care about this show/these characters. Etc.
And at the end of the day - it's just a show. It's not that serious 😅
youtube
Shatner got so much shit for this afterward (I understand why). But thirty-two years later (while the insult remains), the fact this sketch points out stays relevant: big fans of a fictional TV show are likely to be significantly more invested in and knowledgeable about about the show's details than the actors who were in that show. Actors move on. Fans hold on.
But plenty of fans have a rich life outside of fandom. Fandom is just a part; it can be an important part, but it's not the whole.
I've written more essays and metas about That '70s Show the last fourteen years than I'm willing to count. 😅
I've also had conversations with friends about T7S and fandoms in general that opened my mind to different interpretations of the show and taught me how characters can maintain their canon, core personalities, their canon flaws and goals, even when one vital aspect of their canon depiction is changed.
Imagining possibilities is far more fun than adhering to limitations. Took me a while to learn that lesson (over a decade ago).
One example is that the idea of Jackie and Eric being together romantically used to sicken me. It's totally against canon. While I never had a problem with other people shipping them (ship and let ship), I couldn't stomach J/E. Then I read the wonderfully written J/E stories of Marla's Lost, and the disgust faded. I even wrote my own J/E fic to challenge myself and enjoyed it. I also considered writing a sequel (for five minutes).
Yes, the Jackie/Eric pairing is not canonical in any way, but so what? With some tweaks to their individual characterizations, the pair makes for an intriguing exploration of imagination.
Meanwhile, Jackie and Fez are canon (for one episode) romantically (I don't count season 8), and I find nothing interesting in that pairing except friendship.
I love that T7S fans explore different possibilities for the characters' relationships, sexual orientation, gender identity, careers, what-have-you. As long as the characters remain recognizably themselves with these non-canon elements added (and not strangers who happen to share the name of the T7S characters -- looking at you, season 8), these explorations can be both entertaining and healing.
No one person in a fandom is The Authority. I may have immense knowledge of T7S inside and out, but it doesn't change that I'm part of the fandom. My interpretations are just that: mine. In fandom, as in life, having friends with differing opinions is important. Gatekeeping is abhorrent. End of partial rhyme.
Ultimately, though, I keep in mind this bit if wisdom from the Mystery Science Theater 3000 theme song:
If you're wondering how he eats and breathes and other science facts, then repeat to yourself, "It's just a show; I should really just relax."
