If everything goes as planned, we'll all walk out together after Harmonic Convergence. If not ... There's no turning back now.

I think one of my favorite genre of queer characters is the one were they weren’t intended to be queer when they were created but the acting, subtext etc, made the writers explore the character’s sexuality and we organically see them coming to terms with themself. It makes the viewer recontextualize every previous scene with the character and is also a great example of how transformative a show can be within itself. Korra and Asami, Mac (maybe the best example there is), Todd Chavez… I’d even include Tom

korra and asami with the prompt 76 “Don’t tell me you’ve been hiding this all this time?!” please?
Prompt 76 - “Don't tell my you've been hiding this all this time?!"
A/N: THE girls of all time. YES.
“Hold on… wait, seriously?!” Asami said, astonished. “Don’t tell me you’ve been hiding this all this time?” She squeezed at Korra’s knee again with a smile.
Korra fought against the urge to jerk her knee up at the touch, but she couldn’t keep in the little squeak of laughter the sensation caused. “Heh- Asami.. Wait a second..”
“You’re ticklish?!” Asami looked at her with glee, reaching over to squeeze her girlfriend’s sides.
“Yehehehes! Apparently!” Korra laughed, leaning back as she held her hands up uselessly against the ticklish assault. Asami scooted closer, poking at her stomach and ribs and making Korra giggle. “I-hehehe wasn’t hiding it! Ahaha- it jhuhust never came up!”
“This is the greatest discovery…” Asami noted happily as she continued to tickle at various spots. Korra’s hands eventually found themselves looped around Asami’s wrists, holding them effortlessly as she struggled and laughed.
“Okahahahahay okahahay! Gihihimme a break! Hehee!” Korra squawked as Asami wiggled one hand under her arm.
“Seriously.. Could you get any cuter?” Asami smiled softly, stopping the tickling and brushing Korra’s hair out of her face.
Korra blushed, giggling and closing her eyes in the face of such happy affection.

I don't know exactly what it was, but when a friend of mine started watching LoK back in the day and I glimpsed a few scenes, I got that weird feeling that something is off and I don't wanna watch it - despite having loved ATLA.
I haven't watched it to this day and truth be told, considering the treatment of Katara and Toph turning into a cop, among other things, my motivation to catch up with it is minimal.
I've read The Promise and The Search, and found both disappointing and, again off, and haven't read any of the ATLA comics since.
Idk, I love to live in a bubble where canon ended with ATLA.

What’s something that actually happened in a show but you ignore it because it’s so stupid and poorly written?
With atla and lok, it’s the origin of the avatar. I like wan and all but the whole “light vs darkness” thing doesn’t fit in this franchise. It also doesn’t help that the darkness (don’t even care about his name) destroyed the past lives in the avatar cycle. Ruining the franchise where the legacy of the past avatars impacts the future avatars.

Femslash February Day 24 = Korra & Asami
Will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful?
Will you still love me when I got nothing but my aching soul?
I know you will, I know you will, I know that you will
Will you still love me when I'm no longer beautiful?

The video below is probably my favorite Arcane tiktok that I've seen (slight volume warning), because it so viscerally reminds me of my friends and I watching and reacting to The Legend of Korra series' finale 10 years ago (December 14, 2014 if you can believe it!).
That night will live with me the rest of my life. The longing, the hopefulness, the disbelief, the relief, the awakening (hehe). All of our screaming and squealing and gasping surely waking up my parents. People say it a lot, but it truly was the crack ship of all ships. I think every viewer went into the finale knowing there was a 99% chance Korrasami would never happen. But thankfully, we live in the timeline where it did.
A timeline where stories like Arcane can be told. And I'm not saying The Legend of Korra and Arcane can be directly compared. LoK was a kids' show and Arcane explicitly is not one. Korrasami was a crack ship, while Caitlyn and Vi's story has been written for a long time. But despite their differences, seeing stories like Arcane can't help but remind me of that fateful night in 2014, and cause me to remember and appreciate that the world has changed a lot in 10 years.
When I think about who I was then, and who I am now, and what the world today is like for the girls getting to watch Cait and Vi kiss. Wow. Wowowowow. The joy they have in this video is the same joy my friends and I had that night. It's the same joy I imagine all queer people feel when they get to watch their stories be told. When they get to see themselves on screen. When they experience compelling, complex, and beautiful stories.
I'm so grateful to have experienced Korrasami, and all the amazing stories since, but especially this epic story of Caitlyn and Vi, 12 years in the making.
Hope you all enjoy this captured reaction as much as I did.
