min seo-jin x f!reader
warnings:none (?)
a/n: all the military men in sweet home are just TOOO fine!! anyways i hope you enjoy this fic because it was so fun to write🤭
Masterlist
you had been with seo-jin for a good while now, ever since the whole monster thing had happened. he’d saved you from a monster and ever since then, a friendship and then a relationship grew.
to be honest, you were complete polar opposites.
people described you as sweet, kind hearted and a gentle soul because of how sensitive you could be at times.
while on the other hand people described seo-jin as cold, intimidating and hot headed due to the nature of his attitude.
despite some challenges at the beginning of the relationship, you were both going extremely strong and you both complimented each other perfectly.
the day was like no other, the crow platoon had gone on an expedition and you were doing what you needed to do.
as it became later in the day, you patiently waited for seo-jin’ return. you were laying down in your room, on your shared bed. you had just woken from a nap and knew that it would soon be time for seo-jin to return.
it worried you each time he had to leave but you knew it was for the best and because of how skilled the platoon were, you were confident he’d come back safe each and every time.
thankfully, it wasn’t a long wait and several minutes later the door to your room opened and closed.
you lifted your head and saw that it was seo-jin. a smile immediately appeared on your face and you sat up. he must’ve cleaned himself up before coming to see you as his upper torso was bare, he was clean, his hair was wet and so was the shirt he held in his hand.
“seo-jin” you beamed but soon noticed the look on his face.
something was on his mind.
“is everything okay my love?” you questioned as he sat on the edge of the bed, throwing the wet shirt onto the floor.
his hands balled into fists and his eyebrows furrowed in obvious annoyance.
“im okay y/n” he huffed but you knew he wasn’t being honest.
“seo-jin, you can tell me what’s on your mind. i can tell there’s something bothering you” you placed a hand on one of his and he took a deep breath in.
he looked at you briefly before beginning to explain what was annoying him.
“the expedition today, it was a complete waste of time! we didn’t bring back anything valuable and we’re almost out of fuel. and then when we got back, there were these two fucking losers who were complaining about how we don’t let people who aren’t in the platoon on expeditions! are they too stupid to understand that we do it to protect them? it just gets on my nerves” he let out all his emotions and you listened intently to what he was saying “seriously, do they take us for idiots!?” seo-jin raised his voice slightly towards the end.
you let out a sigh, holding back a smile.
it was funny, how annoyed he would get a lot of the time.
“ahh seo-jin..” you began and shuffled to move behind him, you placed your hands on his shoulders and began to massage them “why do you get yourself so worked up?”
seo-jin relaxed into your touch and you continued to massage his shoulders.
“y/n, it’s just frustrating” his voice was a lot calmer and you hummed.
“i understand it can be frustrating but we’ve spoken about this before, haven’t we? let people say what they want to say because at the end of the day, you know how useful you are to this place. plus, you can get more massages from me” you let out a smile as got close to his ear and told him this.
seo-jin fell silent for a couple of minutes as you waited for him to respond.
“i guess you’re right y/n, im sorry i get so worked up” seo-jin turned his head to look at you. his eyes gentle and you couldn’t help the grin on your face as you examined his expression now.
“you don’t guess, you know im right” you teased and seo-jin broke into a smile.
“i know you’re right” he playfully rolled his eyes and pecked you on the lips.
you removed your hands from his shoulder and brought one to rest on his cheek.
“i love you so much” you told him and seo-jin leaned his head into your hand.
“i love you too”

At first I wanted to gif this scene, but there is too much happening, so I put my commentary in the video 😂 I'll prolly still gonna gif some scene *cough* Seok-chan in his halfnaked glory *cough*
It was just so damn funny to me, how Sergeant Kim just quietly sat there in his corner and didn't react to the two knuckleheads starting to fight with each other and even got physical, but the very second Lee Dong-jun insults Seok-chan Sergeant Kim loudly reminds them that he is there 😂 like they crossed a line by possibly attacking or harming his favorite Private 😂 even though it was just verbally. They are such a couple it hurts...
Sorry for not adding subtitles, but lbr, if you watched it you know the gist of what's being said xD

posting about sweet home s2 on here (and not on my main blog) just because what's under the cut is military related.
ignore this post if you didn't watch s2 or the whole series yet and don't want spoilers/if you're not interested in it!
bad english ahead
you don't understand. yeong-hu has got feelings for seo-jin, not for seok-chan - he does have feelings for seok-chan, sure, but they're not love feelings (not yet, at least). sergeant kim said yong-seok would've returned to the stadium on his own, he didn't want to search for him at first 'cause he didn't think yong-seok was lost, but... listen to me: yeong-hu started wanting to find sergeant major choi when he saw seo-jin was desperate about his "disappearance". he cares about yong-seok and he would've searched for him anyway at some point, but he insisted to go and search for him because of sergeant min. kim is scared that seo-jin's anger and worry are gonna turn him into a monster, he's scared to lose him and that's the main reason he wants to find yong-seok. no matter what it takes.
the fact is seok-chan's always there with him, for him, and yeong-hu starts to notice a certain behaviour and to hear some words that come out the private's mouth that make the sergeant think. he realizes seok-chan has got feelings for him and that's the beginning of it all, imho.
in the s02ep04 we can see how yeong-hu looks at seok-chan when the latter is babbling about him not having a girlfriend, a person to love. the sergeant is thinking so hard, he's like "why does he care so much, though? is it because... ? no, it's not", but then we see the "higher power" scene in the s02ep08 and when yeong-hu tells seok-chan to shut up (fondly) it's as clear as water that he got it. how his eyes softens; how he cannot bring himself to look at seok-chan for a second more, so he lowers his gaze; how he finally understands his private is in love with him, but he can't help being in love with someone else (who doesn't love him back, who doesn't even know).
don't despair, though, 'cause my brain's telling me yeong-hu will snap out of his feelings for seo-jin, realize he's always got feelings for seok-chan and, eventually, they'll live happily ever after
if seok-chan doesn't die first

Chemistry between actors was amazing, but the storyline tho... in KDrama
Kang Sora as Oh Hara and Jung Seungjo as Goo Eun Beom in Strangers Again: the story ruined everything
Tumblr media
Lee Jaewook as Baek Kyung and Kim Hye Yoon as Eun Dan Oh in Extraordinary You:only if Baek Kyung wasn't written as a red flag by the manhwa writer
Tumblr media
Jeon Doyeon as Gil Bok Soon and Koo Kyo hwan as Han Hee Seong in Kill Bok Soon: the storyline was good for a crime thriller but unfortunate for them
Tumblr media
Moon Sangmin as Lee Jihan and Jeon Jong Seo as Na Ah Jung in Wedding Impossible :they get happy ending but the storyline was messy imo
Tumblr media
Lee Jaewook as Han Tae Oh and Choi Hee Jin as Kang Hee Joo in The Impossible Heir : yall know why. Everything in this drama was messed up except the chemistry between these two actors
Tumblr media
Ki Do Hoon as Yangcha and Kim Ji Won as Tanya in Arthdal Chronicles: basically Kim Ji Won has chemistry with everyone she acts alongside
Tumblr media
Lee Jae In as Lee Yoon Seo and Cha Woo Min as Ko Kyung Jun in Night Has Come: honestly I didn't even consider them before I saw all those edits on YT
Tumblr media
Go Youn Jung as Jung Jisoo and Seo In Guk as Kim Seong Hyeop in Death's Game: even the smallest moments between them was enough to establish how beautiful chemistry they had
Tumblr media
Lee Dohyun as Go Chang Myung and IU as Jang Man Wol in Hotel Del Luna: one of the best pairings in a KDrama to exist

Title: 5+1: Unlucky Seo-jin Pairing: Kim Yeong-hu/Kang Seok-chan Rating: Teen and Up-Audiences Word count: 2,7k Summary: Five times Min Seo-jin accidentally saw Kang Seok-chan and Kim Yeong-hu all couple-y and one time he went looking for it.
Excerpt:
1. A successful mission meant a week of freedom. Seo-jin had planned to use it for gaming and partying– meeting up with his friends outside the military and of course to spend time with his family. Unfortunately Dong-jun had managed to piss off his parents enough for them to outright refuse to let him come home and Seo-jin took pity on him out of the goodness of his heart.
This was how they ended up in a bathhouse to relax. He was scrubbing his legs ferociously when he heard something on the other side of the wall parting the washing stations.
“Babe, I'd appreciate an answer,” the guy said, whose voice he recognized from somewhere. Now, it wasn't unusual to call your close friend babe, but to do it in a bathhouse was next level comfortable. “Come on, Yeong-hu-ya, do you rather want to eat tteokbokki or jjajangmyeon?” The guy said and Seo-jin unmistakably identified him as Seok-chan, who apparently was on a very informal level with Sergeant Kim.
Without looking, he slapped Dong-jun next to him and then motioned for him to stay silent, when he was about to complain. He pointed at the wall and then his ear to convey he was supposed to listen.
“Will you be the one who cooks?” The Sergeant asked and even the tone of his voice had changed drastically. Seo-jin's eyes were bugging out and he could see Dong-jun had a similar reaction and even went as far as standing up to look over the wall discreetly.
He instantly sat back down. Eyes wide as he looked at Seo-jin, “Dude!” he whispered.
“I know!” Seo-jin whispered back.
“Do you see a ring on this finger?” Seok-chan replied in such a sassy tone that Seo-jin could only sit and stare to digest this information. “No, I was thinking tteokbokki and grilled meat at this small restaurant we went to last time.” Seok-chan continued, “You can buy me some beef.”
Seo-jin could hear the sergeant grunt in displeasure and then there was splashing of water and a shocked exclaim from Seok-chan. “Why am I the one buying you beef again?”
AGAIN? Dong-jun mouthed at Seo-jin.
“Simple, Yeong-huya, you're the one with the higher salary,” Seok-chan replied matter of fact. Seo-jin was flabbergasted and when he looked over at Dong-jun the guy wasn't doing any better.
Seo-jin was about to just rinse himself off and go to the tubs to relax and forget he ever heard anything of this, when the sergeant suddenly thought it was a great idea to give him a full tmi. “I'd rather get a massage after this. I don't think the water will do much.”
Seok-chan sighed, “Why didn't you say something earlier? We could've picked a place that got both.”
“Not that kind of massage.” Yeong-hu told him and Seo-jin could feel his world view collapse. Everything else could've been just shenanigans between friends, but this was pretty fucking gay.
“Oh.” Seok-chan sounded less shocked and more excited. “Perhaps I should cook after all.”
“Perhaps you should, Seok-chan-ah.”
Yeah, they were in gay love and now Seo-jin and Dong-jun knew without any clue how to react to that newly found info. How weird it was to know your two comrades– one of them your superior– were going to fuck today and probably any other day too.
He distinctly remembered that it was considered a felony within the military and decided to just forget about it. Seo-jin hoped Dong-jun would do the same.
Really, he just wanted to not think of those two for as long as he could.

Korean GLs I'd Watch...
Let's try to manifest a world where some of the biggest Korean actresses were cast in major full-length GL kdramas.
Tumblr media
COP + CRIMINAL
Esom (Because This Is My First Life) and Lee Da-hee (Search: WWW) play partners and besties, who both fall for their respective suspects for a crime spree against the patriarchy. (Think: Evening the pay gap at a major company; exposing scandals of sexist politicians; and chemically castrating sex offenders). Esom's love interest is Park Eun-bin (Extraordinary Attorney Woo), and Da-hee's love interest is Seo Yea-ji (It's Okay to Not Be Okay). It's a romantic crime thriller.
Tumblr media
FRIENDS to LOVERS
Seol In-ah (Business Proposal) plays a new-money rich girl who hires a former old-money rich girl, played by Yoo In-na (Touch Your Heart), to be her personal assistant out of pity, but pretends she doesn't know her backstory. And Yoo helps Seol navigate rich society. Their conflict is that Seol's family bankrupted Yoo's family, and is getting the life Yoo was supposed to have, including the fiancee, the job, and the house. It's a sweet romantic comedy.
Tumblr media
BOSS + EMPLOYEE
Kim Ji-won (Fight My Way) starts a job at a family law firm and works hard to get one of the partners, played by Son Ye-jin (Crash Landing on You), to be her mentor, but only because she wants her job. She starts off as a frenemie before Ye-Jin's hard edges rub off, and Ji-won develops a crush. Their obstacles are that Ye-Jin is married and in the closet, and Ji-won might be too ambitious to let go of her goals. It's a slow-burn romantic legal drama.
Tumblr media
COOL GIRL + DORK
Park Shin-hye (Heirs & Pinocchio) plays a cold fashion house designer who hires an unlikely candidate to be her muse, played by Moon Ga-young (True Beauty). And what starts off as a toxic relationship blooms into a supportive one. Park Bo-young (Strong Girl Bong-soon) plays her head of design, who befriends Ga-young's bestie-turned-manager, played by Kim Seul-gi (Oh My Ghostess). They're the softer side couple. It's a romantic workplace dramedy.
Tumblr media
FRIENDS to ENEMIES to LOVERS
Seo Hyun-jin (Why Her?) and Gong Hyo-jin (When the Camellia Blooms) were friends in college, but they had a falling out after a misunderstanding about a guy. They have a tense reunion as adults when Hyo-jin is setting up her nuptials at the wedding hall Hyun-jin manages. It's a slowburn romantic drama.
Tumblr media
ONE-SIDED OBSESSION
Shin Min-a (Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha) plays the wife of a very powerful and abusive man and Hwang Jung-eum (She Was Pretty) plays the maid who is secretly in love with her and helps her escape. They go to Jung-eum's hometown where everyone assumes she's bringing her girlfriend home for the first time, because she didn't have the heart to tell them she got dumped after running away to be with her. Min-a decides to pretend to be the woman to pay her back, and they fall in love. The conflict being when Jung-eum's ex, played by Park Min-young (What's Wrong with Secretary Kim), returns to get her back.
💜 Your move Kdrama world! 💜

Finished Sweet Home in one night because tradition demanded it (I did the same with the season one)
Here some thoughts:
•It kinda hit me how all the casualties in the first chapter, at least in that scene, they were caused not by the monster but by the army trying to kill it. Even if he hadn't killed or even hurt anyone. It protected a child and returned her to her mother. It is as if from the beginning they want to tell us "now this is the world we live in. Is this what we have become or what we always have been?"
•I whish Hyun Su could have had more screen time, I mean, he is the main character...his face appears at the middle of the poster...he is literally the bridge that unites monsters and humanity. But I also know they needed to show how things were with Eun Yoo and the others in the refuge. However we could have had glimpse of lab stuff, Wooi Myung/ Yi Kyungs husband past, and so.
•I am so invested on creating theories about Hyun Su's monster form psychology. Like it kinda looks like a wing, but why a wing? Why just one? What even was Hyun Su's deep wish? (I think it was that everyone disappeared) So, what does that have to do with his monster form?
Also. How can he fly with it? Huh. Not that I'm complaining tho, it looks cool.
•"What do you want" "What should we do?" *smirks mutherfuckingly*
Tumblr media
I cannot. I just can't. His eyes. The tension.
The strangers to apocalypse friends to apocalypse lover-enemies it's apparently what I needed.
Evil Hyun Su had enough with the baby steps. I don't understand how they thought leaving us like...that was a good plan. Guess I will have to wait half a year to find out.
If these two (three¿) don't get more screen time in season 3 I'm really, really, throwing hands. They were so cute in season 1 and now we know he has been watching over her all this time??
Tell me that that's not cute as hell.
It kinda shattered my soul when after saving her from falling into the well she kept trying to get to him and he "drew a line" with his wing. And she was going to keep trying. I'm not fine. And for the record, I never was.
•The kid....is she annoying? Yes, she is. But what she has of annoying she also has of interesting. Like how is she possible? Why?
From what I know and remember Yi Kyung was pregnant. That's all. They better do some explaining there in s3.
•I can't help to find parallels between her and Yeong Su. They are both young and traumatized. They hold very little knowledge of the world and for them is more than enough. Angry with their moms and adults/humans and they will make it everyone's problem.
•Eun Hyuk appearing at the very end of the final chapter with smirking villain vibes has me on a chokehold.
Suddenly I remembered that I have to go through deep academic stress for mid-2024 to arrive.
Tumblr media
Huh.
Until next time.
