🔮 A Little Wylde Flowers FAQ! 🔮
Hello cozy coven! 🔮 We thought we would share a little FAQ answering some frequently asked questions we hear around the community! ✨
You can also check out the FAQ Page on our website for even more help! You can play Wylde Flowers on Nintendo Switch, Steam and Apple Arcade!
Tumblr media
1. I've finished the main storyline - is there more content after Year 1?
Yes! You can continue changing the seasons as many times as you wish after the credits roll to continue farming, befriending the NPCs, and finishing your collections. There are also more quests, festivals, animals, and small storylines to experience in Year 2, so keep talking to the NPCs and see what quests they give!
2. Is there more content after Year 2?
While we don't have dedicated storylines and festivals for Year 3, you can continue playing as long as you like to wrap up any outstanding relationship building, collections, etc. There are also a few (but not all) quests that will pop up in Year 3 if you missed them previously.
Tumblr media
3. Are there going to be any more content updates?
We have just a couple more bits to add to Wylde Flowers, but, we absolutely want to make more games like it!
4. Will "X" be coming to the game?
We can't confirm any specifics about what is coming with the new updates, but we are always looking at community suggestions and feedback to see what y'all would like to see! 🌸 We can't wait to show you what's coming when the time is right, but we have confirmed a few things which will not be coming to Wylde Flowers. These are:
Children
Decorating
Going inside villagers' homes
A full storyline of the same length as the original storyline
Milkwater
Tumblr media
5. How do I get magical animals?
Please see this outstanding guide from a fellow community member on the Wylde Flowers subreddit all about magical animals!
6. How do I change the season after year 1?
Continue visiting the coven at night and you will eventually get a quest to give Tara her new role in the coven, The Keeper of the Wheel. You will then have to make offerings to Wellspring, which you can see by interacting with it. When all offerings are complete, you can use the proper incantation to turn the season just like in Year 1.
Tumblr media
7. Can I transfer my saves between different platforms and/or crossplay?
Unfortunately, this is not possible.
8. I need more games like Wylde Flowers! Help!
Here is a post with lots of great recommendations! We also recommend the subreddit r/cozygamers for lots of cozy game discussion!
Tumblr media
9. Where can I find Wool Weed?
Wool Weed is located in the second area of the Gloaming (near the entrance). The areas are unlocked through story progression. You will need to find the keystone in the first part of the Gloaming first, then talk to Lina and upgrade your wand. Once you have the second and/or third level unlocked, you will be able to choose which level of the Gloaming to enter when you interact with the pillar to enter the Gloaming.
10. Who is the best person to romance?
That is entirely up to your personal preference! You can use our wiki to get more info about the romance candidates. There is also some great discussion about this subject matter in this post, this post, and this post (from our subreddit!) ✨

I don't know shit about l4d. It is a game I don't own and probably will never play. HOWEVER, what I know of the fandom is they like making Nick and Ellis mash tongues while also hating on Rochelle for reasons I don't care to understand, probably for behaving realistically in her situation and for "getting in the way" of their precious yaoi.
Put simply, I would die for Rochelle, she's the best one, idgaf, write more l4d yuri fics dammit theres like two on ao3 that isnt just a background to the milkwater white boy yaoi.

Climate of ASOIAF and its interaction with geography
It is notable that despite the multiyear seasons that per Martin aren't due to physical phenomena, Planetos has an otherwise very Earth-like atmospheric circulation pattern - colder towards the poles, warmer to the equator, with a girdle of storms around the poles that move eastward, and tropical storms that hit Westeros from the southeast during autumn.
Hereby I'll hypothesize that a) the Lands of Always Winter have a size between Greenland and Antarctica, probably closer to the latter, b) the Narrow Sea has a warm northward ocean current, b) the Doom of Valyria didn't cause a volcanic winter, but changes in geography might have, c) the Planetosi equator runs from the Summer Isles westward through the Sunset Sea, the Saffron Straits and Jade Sea all the way to Sothoryos, w/o an "Americos" or Ulthos in the way and d) a continent between Essos and Westeros is almost certainly much smaller than Westeros if it exists at all.
:readmore:
For the record, I am assuming a continental configuration similar to, but with differences explained below, Werthead's in the Atlas of Ice and Fire blog, notwithstanding that as a Mercator projection it makes the Lands of Always Winter too large - and as I argue below, too small and with Ulthos incorrectly intersecting the equator:
Tumblr media
The first thing to note is that per GRRM the Lands of Always Winter are probably larger than Greenland. In fact, given that the northernmost ice-free areas mentioned seem to correspond to the 70th meridian, it's possible that it has an area comparable to Antarctica. So that map might undersell their extent. The fact that the soggy Neck and the stormy Bite are located at around 50 degrees north might support this evaluation, since in the real world the Antarctic storm belt is centered at about that latitude. If we assume that Bran III AGOT was describing the Frozen Shore when he speaks of a "frozen shore", this might imply that permanent ice extends to 60 degrees north. The Thenn and Milkwater valleys might be equivalent to the McMurdo Dry Valleys, then. Granted, a somewhat smaller extent is also possible, depending on how far south sea ice extends in Westeros. Martin has also said that Essos does not extend to the far North; that is, the Shivering Sea surrounds the Lands of Always Winter like the Southern Ocean surrounds Antarctica, except that the North interrupts the ocean at Westeros.
Now there is a thing in Antarctica that doesn't seem to exist in Planetos: The Amundsen Sea Low. This is a semipermanent storm system that forms where storms running around Antarctica pile up against the Antarctic peninsula, and is one of the reasons why sailing conditions at Cape Horn are so treacherous. Given that the North is almost certainly a more effective block than the Drake Passage/Antarctic Peninsula, one might expect the "Sunset Sea Low" to be even more potent.
On the contrary, it seems like weather conditions west of the North are much calmer, with only sparse references to storms. That means that the "Sunset Sea Low" is weaker than the Amundsen storm system. This tells us a few things about Planetos:
There is probably no large continent west of Westeros. A smaller and/or mountainous continent in the middle of the storm track would weaken storms passing through. A large one conversely would spill cold air during winter and deflect warm sea currents (think the Gulf Stream), strengthening downstream storms. So we can assume that any "Americos" is no larger than Australia.
Warm oceans are distributed in a certain way. In the real world, the Amundsen Sea Low strengthens when water temperatures in the Atlantic are warm, and weakens when they are warm in the Indian and East Pacific. With the caveat that this assumes an Earth-like high altitude wind pattern in Planetos, this might tell us that water temperatures southwest of Westeros and in the Jade Sea are warmer than elsewhere along the equator - and warmer than the seas east of the Saffron Straits.
However, Corlys Velaryon's claim to have seen Elissa Farman's ship in Asshai - Elissa Farman travelled west of Westeros - suggests that there is an open oceanic connection from the Summer Isles westward to the Saffron Straits and thence into the Jade Sea. In fact, I think it's likely that the Saffron Straits extend along the equator and let warm water from the Sunset Sea drain into the Jade Sea. This would also explain the clockwise winds in the northern Jade Sea mentioned by sailors, since the trade winds from the Sunset Sea would be funnelled along the equator through the Jade Sea and turn clockwise like the monsoon into Yi Ti. Some of the warm water would spill through the Cinnamon Straits and Jade Gates into the eastern Summer Sea, forming a second "warm water pool".
Now onto the Narrow Sea. Given that westerly winds blow along the Shivering Sea, they would tend to push water eastward, lowering water levels around Braavos and driving a northward ocean current in the Narrow Sea. The warm water cooling and evaporating as it heads north would cause it to sink, forming a thermohaline circulation akin to that of the Atlantic Ocean. This would make the Narrow Sea much warmer than the Sunset Sea, and would amplify hurricane activity around the Stepstones.
In this context, it's interesting to discuss the effects the Doom of Valyria had on climate. Given that Valyria is never described as an archipelago pre-Doom and that the Doom caused an intense tsunami to its east, it's reasonable to assume that the entire archipelago is a volcanic caldera. One much larger than any volcano of Earth, probably more akin to the largest volcanoes of Mars. Its formation probably wouldn't lead to a "volcanic winter", however; volcanic winters don't scale up with the size of eruption and the involvement of all that water would weaken the cooling effect. It's reasonable to discuss the effects that the formation of the Smoking Sea and the other straits had on Planetos' climate, though: The boiling water and additional pathways for Jade Sea water to reach west would cause the Narrow and eastern Summer Sea to become warmer. This would increase precipitation over Westeros, Essos and Sothoryos (possibly explaining the rise of the Hoare-era Ironborn conquerors, Dothraki and decline of Gogossos) and storminess in the Stormlands (possibly explaining their decline during Arrec's rule).

S+N=PL: A tinfoil read of the pink letter
Recently, this line in Varamyr’s prologue in ADWD was brought to my attention:
One by one they fell behind or forged ahead, making for their old villages, or the Milkwater, or Hardhome, or a lonely death in the woods. Varamyr did not know and could not care. I should have taken one of them when I had the chance. One of the twins, or the big man with the scarred face, or the youth with the red hair.
Who are these people Varamyr could have taken? Why would George give us descriptions of those people? Why have Varamyr remember these people specifically? Why have Varamyr remember anything about the people when he’s fucking starving and malnourished and delusional?
Because they’re going to be important later.
While I have some ideas on who “The twins” and “The youth with the red hair” are, in this post I’m going to be focusing on “the big man with the scarred face”.
A big man with a scarred face, now, who could that be?
Sandor motherfucking Clegane of course!
I can already hear you saying “But he’s at the quiet Isle! He can’t be in the north!”, but as is shown in this revolutionary new timeline by @jozor-johai , our timeline of a lot of the events, especially those in the north, is wrong, so it is possible Sandor took a ship to the north soon after Brienne left (or maybe during Brienne’s stay since the last time she sees him is when she has lunch in the septry). Cat’s skiff got from White Harbor to KL in a week or so, so it is completely possible Sandor went North and reached there a few months after the battle on the wall.
Ok, you say, He might be in the north, but what could that mean for the plot?
Why, because it means he sent the pink letter, of course.
The new timeline shows that Jon’s assassination took place a full month before Theon and Jeyne escape, so none of the suspects, other than maybe Stannis could have any reason to send the letter.
So the pink letter:
Bastard, Your false king is dead, bastard. He and all his host were smashed in seven days of battle. I have his magic sword. Tell his red whore. Your false king's friends are dead. Their heads upon the walls of Winterfell. Come see them, bastard. Your false king lied, and so did you. You told the world you burned the King-Beyond-the-Wall. Instead you sent him to Winterfell to steal my bride from me. I will have my bride back. If you want Mance Rayder back, come and get him. I have him in a cage for all the north to see, proof of your lies. The cage is cold, but I have made him a warm cloak from the skins of the six whores who came with him to Winterfell. I want my bride back. I want the false king's queen. I want his daughter and his red witch. I want this wildling princess. I want his little prince, the wildling babe. And I want my Reek. Send them to me, bastard, and I will not trouble you or your black crows. Keep them from me, and I will cut out your bastard's heart and eat it. Ramsay Bolton, Trueborn Lord of Winterfell
Why send the letter? To bring Jon south of course and hopefully draw Ramsay away, the original spearwife plan was originally to rescue Jeyne when the armies were outside battling, but they had to abandon that plan when no army came after a month and do the next best thing.
One of the first things you notice on your first read of the letter is the repetition of Bastard, and since it makes no sense for Ramsay to write it, it must be some other character who wrote it, and who do we know in the series who loves to curse? Sandor. He might have changed a lot on the quiet isle but cursing a hard habit to drop.
Sandor probably really does think of Stannis as a false king with no claim, since it’s unlikely he knew about the twincest considering he spends most of his time in KL around Joffrey or being a regular Lannister guard. He also probably became more religious at the quiet isle and genuinely despises Stannis for turning to R’hllor.
So how does he know about the spearwives? Because he’s in winterfell of course. My guess would be he went to Eastwatch after his original ship crashed north of the wall and managed to smuggle himself on a ship and go to White Harbor, where he went into Wyman’s service, maybe he even went and specifically told Wyman about his mission to rescue Arya, and since most people in the North haven’t seen the hound before, it’s unlikely they would know who he was, or even think about it, considering the rumors that he’s around Saltpans. Only the Freys might know him, being from farther south, but they probably wouldn’t pay attention to a random Manderly guard.
Why would the spearwives let Sandor know who they are? Because Mance recognized him from his previous visit to Winterfell. This would also explain why grrm retconned Mance into winterfell in asos.
Why would Mance trust Sandor? He’d probably do what he did with Theon and have the spearwives bring him and interrogate Sandor, Mance is a pretty good judge of character
As for ‘your false king’s friends are dead’, Sandor from what he knows of Stannis thinks that Stannis has no friends, so he’s just having a jape, something he does continuously through the letter.
Sandor has also become far more religious at the quiet isle, so he thinks of all other religions (except the old gods) as false and sorcerous. His experience with the BwB also put his opinion of red priests down, making him call Mel a red witch.
How did Sandor send the letter? Probably with Wyman’s help, or maybe there’s a dead maester who’s gone missing in all the chaos at winterfell. As for the signature pink wax, the quiet isle does have some trade, so the most likely scenario some ship carrying sealing waxes for trade came and Sandor asked the elder brother to buy him the pink one because it reminded him of the girlish stuff Sansa likes, along with kinda resembling the color of the weirwood (remember that the first time Sandor saved Sansa was when she almost fell on the serpentine steps coming back from the godswood.). In fact, since none of ‘Ramsay’s’ letters have a seal, it’s actually been Sandor, with Wyman and Mance sending the letters.
But why? He obviously came to winterfell hearing of Arya’s marriage and to save her, but it must have been clear during the wedding and after that the girl was not Arya, but someone else, namely Jeyne Poole, Sansa’s close friend who was taken away from her.
Sandor clearly thinks of himself as Sansa’s ‘protector’, and his time at the quiet isle has probably made him take that role even more seriously, so when he sees that Sansa’s close friend has been married off to a raving lunatic who’ll ruin her, he’d immediately think of Sansa and decide to save Jeyne, since he doesn’t know the spearwives or Mance well, he’d definitely not tell them and jeopardize the rescue.
As for the line, ‘the skins of the six whores’, I think Sandor’s increasing religiosity has made him increasingly take a line against alcoholism, which is probably pretty common in wildling culture, so he made them give him their wineskins and turned that into a cloak.
But why hasn’t Theon seen him, you ask? Well, actually, he has:
Outside the snow was coming down so heavily that Theon could not see more than three feet ahead of him. He found himself alone in a white wilderness, walls of snow looming up to either side of him chest high. When he raised his head, the snowflakes brushed his cheeks like cold soft kisses. He could hear the sound of music from the hall behind him. A soft song now, and sad. For a moment he felt almost at peace.
Farther on, he came upon a man striding in the opposite direction, a hooded cloak flapping behind him. When they found themselves face-to-face their eyes met briefly. The man put a hand on his dagger. "Theon Turncloak. Theon Kinslayer."
"I'm not. I never … I was ironborn.""False is all you were. How is it you still breathe?"
"The gods are not done with me," Theon answered, wondering if this could be the killer, the night walker who had stuffed Yellow Dick's cock into his mouth and pushed Roger Ryswell's groom off the battlements. Oddly, he was not afraid.
He pulled the glove from his left hand. "Lord Ramsay is not done with me."The man looked, and laughed. "I leave you to him, then." -ADWD, The Ghost in Winterfell
‘False is all you ever were.’ We know Sandor’s dislike of lordlings and knights, thinking them false fakers who break vows easily, and he must’ve seen a lot of Theon while watching Joff in the yard and seen his shallowness.
Sandor’s parallel for Theon’s situation with the Starks is being saved by the Elder Brother, who has become his brother in all but biology to him, and he saw how good Theon had it with the Starks, so he thinks of Theon as a kinslayer.
There is also a moment of sympathy when he sees what has been done to Theon, seeing a bit of what he did to himself and turned himself into due to his hatred of Gregor.
Since Sandor came to Winterfell as a Manderly guard, it’s safe to assume he’s outside winterfell with the rest of the Manderly host, which might complicate Wyman’s defection to Stannis, because even if Stannis believes that he wasn’t involved in Saltpans (which is a pretty hard sell, especially since Wyman also has to convince Stannis that he didn’t kill Davos.), Sandor still deserted on the battle of the blackwater, and Stannis is not going to let desertion pass with no punishment, this is the dude who cut off Davos’ fingers after all. So Wyman will probably have Sandor mysteriously disappear and make it look like he deserted a few days before the defection. Most likely, Sandor will go to the wall to check what the fuck is going on and why Jon hasn’t come yet, which might mean he’ll be the one who reminds (or informs) Mel that she can resurrect people.
Tl;dr: Sandor sent the pink letter, and might be at the wall.

here's my Others headcanon at the moment:
I wonder if they're incorporeal, if they're literally water/ice given form—maybe even only temporarily.
In the same way that Varamyr is briefly incorporeal after his death, in the same way that Dragons are "fire made flesh." Of course it's only fitting that the Others are "ice made flesh," but I think that could have an even more literal component than with Dragons.
It's just a headcanon, but you can see where I'm going based on this quote from Varamyr's death:
Then both were gone and he was rising, melting, his spirit borne on some cold wind. He was in the snow and in the clouds,
And this quote from Tormund in particular about the way the Wildlings were hunted along the Milkwater, and about the death of his son:
A man can fight the dead, but when their masters come, when the white mists rise up … how do you fight a mist, crow? Shadows with teeth … air so cold it hurts to breathe, like a knife inside your chest … you do not know, you cannot know … can your sword cut cold?
And, honestly, from this quote from Bloodraven:
The singers carved eyes into their heart trees to awaken them, and those are the first eyes a new greenseer learns to use … but in time you will see well beyond the trees themselves.
How far beyond the trees? Varamyr says he was "in the snow and in the clouds"... could one warg snow? What would happen?

Why is the Shadow Tower maintained rather than Westwatch?
So Westwatch-by-the-Bridge is closer to the Bridge of Skulls, which is an important potential crossing that the Night's Watch need to defend, but the Shadow Tower seems to have a superior vantage point - most likely because it's built "hard by the mountains," which might mean at a higher elevation - because GRRM often describes the Shadow Tower reporting on wildling movements.
Presumably, when the Night's Watch was forced to consolidate down to three castles, the Lord Commander at the time decided that the intelligence from the Shadow Tower was more important, because that area is where the Wall terminates and wildlings can cross either by the Bridge of Skulls or descending the Gorge directly or by taking a boat down the Milkwater, so defending just the Bridge wouldn't stop raiders from being able to take the westward route.

During the battle beneath the Wall, Ser Godry Farring had slain a fleeing giant, pounding after him on horseback and driving a lance through his back, then dismounting to hack off the creature’s pitiful small head. The queen’s men had taken to calling him Godry the Giantslayer. Jon remembered Ygritte, crying. I am the last of the giants.
“I use Longclaw when I must, ser.”
“How well, though?” Ser Godry drew his own blade. “Show us. I promise not to hurt you, lad.”
How kind of you. “Some other time, ser. I fear that I have other duties just now.”
“You fear. I see that.” Ser Godry grinned at his friends. “He fears,” he repeated, for the slow ones.
“You will excuse me.” Jon showed them his back. Jon, ADwD
--------
“You are refusing to obey my order?”
“You can stick your order up your bastard’s arse,” said Slynt, his jowls quivering. Alliser Thorne smiled a thin smile, his black eyes fixed on Jon. At another table, Godry the Giantslayer began to laugh. - Jon, ADwD
--------
Ser Godry gave a pull on the rope. The King-Beyond-the-Wall had no choice but to stumble after him, the rope choking off his words. When he lost his feet, Godry dragged him the rest of the way. Mance was bloody when the queen’s men half-shoved, half-carried him to the cage. A dozen men-at-arms heaved together to hoist him into the air. - Jon, ADwD
---------
Godry the Giantslayer guffawed. “I had forgotten that you northmen worship trees.”
“What sort of god lets himself be pissed upon by dogs?” asked Farring’s crony Clayton Suggs. - Jon, ADwD
---------
“Unless they die. Dead children come last everywhere.”
“Suggest that in the hearing of Mors Umber, Ser Godry, and you will learn more of death than you might wish.”
“I have slain a giant, boy. Why should I fear some flea-ridden north-man who paints one on his shield?”
“The giant was running away. Mors won’t be.” - Jon, ADwD
----------
“The boy has milkwater in his veins,” said Ser Godry the Giant-slayer.- Jon, ADwD
---------
The big knight named Ser Godry Farring led them. Godry the Giantslayer. A big name for a small man. Farring was broad-chested and well muscled under his plate and mail. He was also arrogant and vain, it seemed to Asha, hungry for glory, deaf to caution, a glutton for praise, and contemptuous of smallfolk, wolves, and women. In the last, he was not unlike his king. - Asha Greyjoy, The King’s Prize, ADwD
This Godrey fellow seems like a right arse. I can’t wait for him to meet his glorious ending à la Janos Slynt. GRRM excels so much at characters getting their just deserts and I know one is waiting for Godry Farring. There’s a reason we are getting so much of him being this obnoxious. And no doubt the guy loudly crowing about everyone else being cowards will be giving us a demonstration of true cowardice soon. Most probably in a Theon or Asha POV chapter.
Please George finish the book!

ik it wont happen but
the gyrfalcon scratching petyr's eyes out lives rent free in my mind
when thinking of sansa warging in the pet falcon i always thought it was more like she'd hear or see something unconsciously through jon arryn's falcon but then again idk if its far fetched but since skinchanging is incredibly strong in the starks i wouldn't completely doubt it
manifesting sansa clawing out littlefinger’s throat in twow <3
I don’t think she’d be able to sense any past info from jon arryn’s falcon (as it’s highly highly improbable that he was a skinchanger, and therefore wouldn’t have left any of himself inside the bird), but I do love the idea of her learning new information by seeing things through a bird’s eyes (like jon viewing the milkwater and arya seeing who’s been hitting her). some people speculate that this moment here is her doing that:
Tumblr media
the way it’s phrased could just mean that she’s imagining this, but, if it’s something she does actually do later on, this could be looked back on as some early foreshadowing.

Westeros alternative geography
Mostly to solve this problem, I'd have a through-going river (which I've christened Wind River) from Thenn to Starfall. That is, extend the Milkwater to the Neck, passing it through the Wall at Castle Black, past Last Hearth, the crofter's village and Barrowton. Then it follows the Green Fork, but instead of forming a Trident (I also take out the Blue Fork), I have it turn southwest, reversing the Red Fork up to Riverrun. There it continues southeast to High Heart, Rushing Falls, Tumbler's Falls and then to Bitterbridge. Then it follows the course of the Mander until Dunstonbury. There it continues south to Oldtown - which I put on the opposite side of High Hermitage. There the river forms a delta in front of the Arbor, between Blackcrown and Starfall, flanked by two distributaries - the western Honeywine and the larger eastern Whispering Sound (with Three Towers and Starfall on opposite sides).
The Vale and Westerlands too are joined with its watershed - unlike in the books, I have most of the Vale being internally drained through a gorge in the Bloody Gate southwestward to this river ("Vale River"). And the Westerlands river that descends from Sarsfield doesn't end in the Sunset Sea, but rather continues south past Casterly Rock and eventually joins this river at Highgarden. The Stormlands are even more complex - there is a Blackwater Rush, but it originates south of King's Landing in the Kingswood and eastern Dornish Marches. At King's Landing it undergoes a river bifurcation - most of it continues northeastward to a delta in the Narrow Sea, but part of the flow goes due west (forming the Rose River), takes the outlet of the Gods' Eye, and joins the Wind River southeast of Stoney Sept.
This river bifurcation formed only shortly before the Conquest - before, the entire Blackwater flowed into the Narrow Sea - and the connection it established between the Wind River and the Narrow Sea was key in the growth of King's Landing. Aegon I and Jaehaerys I established a firm Iron Throne control over the internal waterways, explicitly prohibiting any lord from claiming fees or duties or any other authority on the rivers, a rule strictly enforced by all Targaryens and Baratheons. During wartime, control of the river system is pivotal - the inability of the Two Kings during the Conquest, of the Greens during the Dance and the Blacks during the First Blackfyre to contest the Rose River led to the failure of their efforts, and the incompetence of Aerys II's cronies early during Robert's Rebellion, plus the rebels establishing connections by sea, allowed Team Arryn to seize control of the rivers north of the Rose River.
The maesters believe that this river system formed only in recent eons, when the growth of hills on the western coast of the Reach (some even link the legend of Storm's End to the Blackwater), the formation of the Gods' Eye and Bite, and the Hammer of the Waters (which in this AU tried to split Westeros in east-west rather than north-south) merged numerous drainages.
