Barret had barely had a moment to let everything that had happened sink in since Corel. Midgar seemed like so long ago, a distant memory. The laughter they'd had along the journey, those moments of quiet reflection. Cosmo Canyon... Hell, if he got a chance he was going back there. He never thought they'd be here... 

He looked to the sky, though he'd been told not to. The man saw nothing except an endless blue... clear, calm. Nothing like how any of them felt inside, hollow. The weight of something, someone, missing held onto his shoulders. A familiar weight, one he'd experienced many times before. Loss. This one hit him differently though. Maybe because he thought it could have been avoided if only they'd been faster. 

They all could have... Dyne... his home... Myrna... 

But Aerith? That one pressed against his chest in a way he didn't even know how to describe. It's like someone went an' turned the damn sun off... Where was her lighthearted laughter, her teases? That bright smile could make even him believe they would all get through this. Her loss made him want to go back to Midgar and hug Marlene tightly.

He'd hidden his eyes behind his sunglasses, turning his face as he let his grief escape. Nanaki was sitting with Tifa, she looked lost. Haunched over herself. Even Cid and Vincent were quiet. But most shockingly was Yuffie, she had barely said a word. He couldn't help but wonder if somehow she could see them all... if she could see how much they all cared for her... she knew... she had to have known...

Shaded eyes fell on Cloud, him... Barret didn't know what to make of him. He didn't seem saddened... at least not in the way he'd have expected. Mebbe he is... mebbe he's jus' hidin' it... tryin' to tough it out. Hah, wouldn't surprise me... the dumbass. He rose from his position and walked over to him, his hand for once gentle upon his shoulder. Not the usual clap with his loud voice. 

"We're gonna get him." He promised, "An' he's gonna pay for everythin' he ever took... promise you that."

Cloud had once told him that he was there for him, Barret had believed it. Now it was his turn to show Cloud it was returned. They were family. All of them.

   if she were to retell it, it would sound almost mechanical: she awoke before him, and when she called out his name, he stirred. cloud was here, alive, despite it all. 

   tifa could only think of that endless current, the lifestream, and she realized she had never pictured a self that was never not looking back. she could, however, pinpoint the moment her voice, or rather, her siren song—that effort to delay the inevitable—stopped. it was strangled out of her, and, for a moment, cloud had to pay the price in silence, barely conscious and twitching with mako poisoning. her knees kept the bruises after her devastation made her fall on them, and now, as she knelt beside that single flat bed the highwind provided him, tifa had never felt gladder for that aching sensation. it meant she, too, was here despite it all. perhaps that was a first for the sentiment, she thought.

   his statement didn’t take her aback— if anything, it brought her forward, the peaks of her reminiscence heightening. “all this time… that’s what i’ve wanted.” for you to go back, to remember. the smile she mustered relented, “but, cloud… i’ve asked that of you so much already, haven’t i?” 

   despite herself, she swallowed, almost noiselessly, the restraint she promised herself to shed. 

   “i don’t want you to stay there.” to stay gazing up her window, laying at the bottom of that faulty bridge, standing within that burning nibelheim. 

   “i... i don’t want to hold you back. i don’t want to hold myself back,” not again. not so soon. not when they should focus entirely in the future, or… possible lack thereof. even amidst a bout of hopefulness, she felt her confidence waver as it usually did when she conjured, inadvertently, the right words for it, and she moved down to sit back down on the steel ground. there were no windows to gaze out from, not in this particular room, but she predicted the day would be clear, sunny. beautiful enough to break her heart when a meteor marred it weeks from now on. 

   she drew her knees close to her chest, a gesture with as much meaning as a knee-jerk reaction. despite this, the fear, there was a light quality to her voice, maybe from the amusing observation that crossed her mind, traveling down to her lips: “i bring you back, but you take me forward. is that really fair?”

I just spent two days figuring out the nitty-gritty details of demon naming systems for the fantasy continuity I'm writing that is taking and will take... a long time to finish. I hope you're ready for a mess of Latin and Proto-Germanic words being mushed together for most every demonic fantasy character i ever write from now on.

Here's an example of the nightmare I just put myself through: Mith'Staenire is the name I chose for an old character who desperately needed renaming. Mith is a combination of the Latin "militus" (soldier) and the Proto-Germanic "buthlan" (build). Staenire is a combination of the Latin "pervenire" (reach up) and the Proto-Germanic "stainaz" (stone). Pervenire is a bit of a reach (ha)—other words could be more closely accurate—but it's close enough for something the average person who doesn't know both languages somewhat and know that I'm using both would not be able to discern. I'll let you figure out what the fuck this name indicates about the character.

There are four layers of symbolism in this single name.

Demons have standardized naming practices that I now need to keep consistent for every single demon character I create in this world without exception (because I won't forgive myself otherwise).

Fucking nobody will get this without prior explanation of the roots.

I'm never getting this world fully fleshed out, am I?

Beberapa waktu ini sering sekali muncul di sosial media kasus pasien cuci darah pada anak karena gagal ginjal yang disebabkan oleh konsumsi gula berlebihan. Konsumsi minuman kemasan secara berlebihan serta kurangnya konsumsi air mineral jadi penyebabnya.

Gula atau secara kimia disebut sukrosa bukanlah racun, gula boleh dikonsumsi oleh tubuh namun dengan batasan tertentu. Mengutip himbauan dari kementrian kesehatan RI bahwa setiap orang dapat mengonsumsi gula maksimal 50 gram perhari atau setara 4 sendok makan.

Manisnya gula taksemanis efeknya, konsumsi gula yang berlebihan dapat menjadi penyebab berbagai penyakit. Selain konsumsi minuman kemasan, makanan olahan (Ultra process food) juga menjadj sumber konsumsi gula berlebih oleh karena itu penting bagi kita untuk mengecek tabel gizi tiap kemasan untuk membatasi konsumsi gula pada tubuh.

John yudkin seorang ahli nutrisi asal london pada 1957 meneliti bahwa asal dari segala penyakit kronis disebabkan karena konsumsi gula yang berlebihan. Hal tersebut karena efek dari konsumsi gula berlebihan mempengaruhi tubuh diantaranya menyebabkan obesitas, diabetes, tekanan darah tinggi, penyakit jantung, hingga asam urat.

Gula merupakan karbohidrat sederhana yang sifatnya mudah larut dalam air sehingga gula dapat langsung diserap oleh tubuh untuk menjadi energi. Namun, kadar gula yang berlebih pada tubuh dapat menyebabkan insulin menjadi resisten yaitu insulin tidak dapat lagi menjalankan tugasnya dalam proses metabolisme gula menjadi energi. Hal tersebut menjadikan kadar gula dalam darah tinggi yang mengakibatkan resiko obesitas serta diabetes militus dalam tubuh. Diabetes kemudian menjadi pemicu penyakit kronik lain dalam tubuh timbul.

Selain insulin menjadi resisten, konsumsi gula berlebihan juga menyebabkan resistensi leptin dimana fungsi leptin yang seharusnya menjadi sinyal tubuh untuk kenyang tidak berfungsi. Karena itulah konsumsi gula berlebihan menjadi penyebab obesitas .

Poin pentingnya adalah mulai bijak dalam menjaga kadar komsumsi gula perhari, gula memang manis tapi jika takterkontrol jadi jahat. Hidup sehat tidak harus menunggu nanti tapi saat ini.

Hari ini menyenangkan. Perjalananku menuju Ngawi menyenangkan. Suasana kota ini menyenangkan. Teman teman perjalananku juga seru. Hatiku happy sekali. 

Apalagi kami baru menikmati sajian ayam, urap, gorengan dan es kelapa muda. Perut kenyang, haus sudah hilang.

Aku dan teman temanku melanjutkan perjalanan ke tempat kami selanjutnya.

Suasana di bis menyenangkan. Bapak supir memutarkan lagu lagu terhits yang membuat para penumpang bersenandung.

"Papa masuk RS."

Sebuah whatsapp masuk ke handphoneku. Pesan dari adikku.

Aku menghela nafas. Suasana hatiku langsung suram.

Papaku. 

Yang saat ini akhirnya menyerah datang juga ke Rumah Sakit.

Bulan lalu papa bilang tidak mau ke dokter. Bilang bahwa tidak mau minum obat dari dokter. Cukup minum herbal yang disarankan oleh teman papa.

Belum lagi makanan papa yang tidak terkendali. 

Apa itu diet? Apa itu jaga makan?

Masakan padang, sate gule kambing, semua dimakan.

Pura pura tidak sadar bahwa papa adalah penderita Diabetes Militus.

Apakah kami, aku dan kakak adikku tidak pernah menahan ayah?

Sering.

Tapi akhirnya kami kalah, karena ayah akan ngamuk. Marah marah. Ngambek. Berkata yang tidak menyenangkan. Tidak hanya pada aku dan kakak adikku, tapi juga mama dan cucunya.

Kenapa papa?

Kadang aku berpikir jangan jangan papa ingin segera bertemu Allah.

Kenapa papa tidak ada pengendalian diri?

Pa, tidakkah papa ingin hidup panjang dan berkualitas bersama anak cucunya? Melihat matahari terbit besok dengan bahagia?
