Numb

I have diagnosed major depressive disorder, anxiety and PTSD.

They all go hand in hand and I had a rough couple of months while my boyfriend was deployed. It was difficult feeling like I could never really tell him what was going on because that would add to the stress. I never wanted him to worry about me and what was going on here that he would get distracted there. So my doctor put me on medication. It makes me numb and affects my sleep and appetite. Six months of being back on I was able to get weaned off.

Now my boyfriend has been back for six months and I needed to go back on the medication. Now that I'm not worrying about him coming home I need to worry about my pending end to my job. I just want a break... and hate this facade I must keep up. I'm just simply exhausted.

I know this is a different kind of post but this is my safe space to express myself. I not asking for your pity but I needed an outlet.

i know i need an outlet to let out my thoughts, and being too lazy to actually write- here i am starting this thing over again. 

it is day 7- exactly a week- since he’s deployed to korea. we’ve been doing this long distance thing for over half a year now but there’s something so entirely different about him being in another country that is 16hrs ahead. i try to tell myself to not think about it in that sense because it only makes it harder for me. compared to when he was in oklahoma, it wasn’t so bad. either way, he is somewhere other than here and i’ve made it this far so i can keep going. i tell myself. i tell myself don’t think about the time difference and the lack of conversation it’s putting between us. i remind myself of how hard it was not talking to him at all when he first left for basic training and how the intensity of that doesn’t even actually compare to this. because at least we get to talk, even if it’s not as much as i’d like. even in oklahoma, we would talk for only for an hour or two a day so why is korea that much different? i ask myself. i’m overthinking it, i know i’m overthinking it. i tell myself to stop. i tell myself to stop before i ruin everything by being too emotional, during the time he needs me to be strong the most. in a very ironic way, it’s not even the long distance that is getting to me. the mileage doesn’t matter when i know the strength of our love. what brings me to a fetal position with tears in my eyes is just how much i fucking miss him and how much i crave his presence. we facetime and he will fall asleep but even with that i will feel a thousand times better because though through a screen, he’s by my side. i hear his little snores, i watch his breath. i stare at his lips, the sharpness of his jaw. his big ears. he tells me to be strong, it’s only a year. i tell him i know. i look up and remember we’re at least under the same sky.
