Cole texted me for a minute this morning after not hearing from him for about two weeks. It was nice to finally hear from him!! He flies out of the Philippines in the early morning his tomorrow (which is a few hours away for me today) and then lands in Seattle around 5pm my time. It’s exciting! He said his goodbyes on the ship and they presented him with an award. It’s all finally happening! And I’m excited!!! Only a month left until he is official DUNZO with all things Navy related!!!!

I catch a glimpse of my ring out of the corner of my eye and I smile. I miss you, of course i miss you. These months without you can be miserable. But when i see the ring, I see the promise. This distance is only temporary and while sometimes i get swallowed up in it, i know that in the end.. everything will be okay. Anyone who has experienced a long distance relationship knows it’s not easy, but we always keep the love between us alive. We have learned so much about communicating with one another and that has helped us to always work our frustrations out and prevent major fights. We have had to learn to cherish everyday we get to spend together and make the most of phone calls and FaceTime dates. I’ve learned to never take his love for granted, and to always have fun together even though we may be sad. And most importantly I’ve learned that no matter how hard the distance is, I’d rather do this than lose him all together.

I love my sailor, and I couldn’t be more proud of him❤️

Update:

Cole called me this morning via Facebook messenger because the contract with his Japanese phone is officially up. Today was their last day at the port in southern Japan before they go to their next (and Cole’s final) port.

We were reminiscing and realized exactly 3 years ago today Cole arrived in Japan for his orders, and today is his last day in Japan. Talk about full circle!

When Cole gets to their next port in about a week and a half, he’ll be flying out to Seattle the day they arrive (yay!!!). So that means he officially has a week and a half before he’s in the same country as me!

Cole sent me a message before he went back on the ship and in it he said “next time you hear from me I’ll be back stateside” and omgggggg the feels! It had been three LONG, LONG years. And it’s finally coming to an end. This is crazy! But crazy exciting!!!!!

So that’s the update. So exciting, so happy. I’m full of joy 🥰

Después de 10-12 días incomunicados, días de navegacion, desesperacion, y planeación de dicha bienvenida , orábamos al cielo para que acelerara los tiempos, soñábamos y añorábamos verlos YA, de regreso. .
