SLYTHERINSLUT0âS KINKTOBER
october 4th â virginity loss / corruption kink.

PART ONE | kinktober masterlist. | 2024.
pairing: mattheo riddle x berkshires!sister
summary: mattheoâs conscience can only hold him back for so long.
warnings: 18+, hogwarts uni (putting this even tho itâs obvious), jealous mattheo, flirting, tension tension tension, âwe canât do thisâ type of vibe, âyour brother is right over thereâ type of vibe. bestfriends lil sister trope. part one of two.
Moralityâwhat is it, really? How is it measured? Is it a linear scale? Could someone be morally sound yet sometimes make an exception when the situation called for it?
Perhaps it's subjective. Anything that falls outside of the law, that is.
Mattheo forced a breath from his lungs, the drink in his hand was tasteless, some watered-down excuse for a cocktail. But that didn't matter, not reallyâwhat mattered was the way you kept laughing, the way your hand lingered a second too long on that random bastard's sleeve. The sight made something concerning coil tight in his chest, but he stayed where he was, back against the wall, sucking down drinks like he'd been tasked to it.
God, this was stupid. Morality. Right and wrong. He knew the difference, of course he did. Just because he was a Riddle didn't make him a monster. Not yet, anyway. But that line, the one between you and himâthe one drawn so clearly in the sandâwas practically mocking him with its absolutes and daring him to cross it. Forbidden, off-limits, the one thing he shouldn't want.
His best friend's little sister. The good girl. A virgin, no less.
"Riddleâyou coming?"
Mattheo's head jerked slightly, but his mind was miles away.
He waved a hand. "I'll catch up in a bit.â
Malfoy and Zabini nodded, slipping into the night, leaving him behind in the dim, crowded ballroom. Spring dance. Hours past dusk. He didn't even know why he was still there. Normally, he was long gone before the clock struck twelve, but tonight the room pulsed with bodies and the music hummed under his skin. His drink was half-forgotten in his hand, and his gaze was fixed on a group across the room.
Or, more specifically, on you.
You were standing, black dress to your mid-thighs, half-listening to boys from your year drone on about quidditch tryouts and the usual chatter that filled the space between your breaths. But your eyesâyour eyes weren't on them. You were looking at him. A soft smirk tugging at the corners of your lips, like you knew something he didn't.
His heart kicked against his ribs. Where was that line again?
You winked, and he sipped his drink. He'd always said bad decisions made good storiesâbut even if this (unnameable thing between you) was a story worth telling, the people to hear it would be few.
The tension grew suffocating and he finally looked away. You took that as a win, but you weren't about to let the game end thereânot after you noted the tense of his fingers around his cup. You excused yourself from the group, your body moving through the crowd like water, fluid and unhurried, weaving your way toward him.
You knew the line well, the one Mattheo pretended so hard to respect. Restraint wasn't his natureâit never had been, not in the decade you'd watched him take whatever he wanted without a second thought. He wasn't made for holding back, and it showed every now and thenâevery time his lips crashed against yours in some hidden corner, whispering confessions of how badly he wanted more, how he ached for what he couldn't have.
You loved pushing him to that point. You loved knowing how bad he wanted you. Your brother would lose his mind if he found out. But that didn't matter, not even a little. Not when Mattheo looked at you like that.
"Having fun?" He asked upon your approach, his voice a shade too flat.
"A little." You leaned against the wall beside him, close enough that he could feel the warmth of your skin, your presence seeping into the space between you. "What about you? You seem a bit...tense."
"Tense." The word came out bland, barely audible, and he took a slow sip of his drink, like he needed it just to find his voice. "Why would I be tense?"
You wet your lips, slow, deliberate, studying him with that sidelong glance that made his pulse skip. His jaw tightened, and his eyesâthose beautiful, dangerous brown eyesâscanned the room with something too close to desperation.
"Good question." You tilted your head, gaze playful, curious, like you were dissecting him right there in the half-light. "Maybe it's because you've been watching me like a hawk. Like you're waiting for me to do something...wrong."
"Maybe I'm just looking out for you," he muttered, his gaze sliding to your brother across the room, lips locked with some brunette. Mattheo's eyes flickered back to you, just for a moment. "Your brother's a little...busy, after all."
You raised an eyebrow, the corner of your mouth curving into an amused, almost wicked smile. "Ah, so that's it. You're just being my big, overprotective babysitter."
"I don't need to babysit you," he grumbled, though his gaze betrayed him, darting over to the group of boys you'd been talking to. "Just keeping an eye on the company you keep."
It was almost amusingâthe way Mattheo stood there, sizing up your guy friends like they were targets in a lineup, probably mentally noting who he'd hit first if any of them dared to step out of line. He was different tonightâand you could have brushed it off, could have let that flicker of vulnerability slide, but that wasn't how this game was played. Not with him. Not with you. There was no room for naivety here.
You turned to face him now, full-on, shoulder resting against the wall as you raised a hand, fingers brushing lightly up his arm.
"Keeping an eye," you repeated as you traced the hard line of his shoulder, then down, lower, over his chest. "Ever my hero, Mattheo Riddle."
When your fingers grazed his abdomen, his breath caught and he grabbed your wristâhardâthe suddenness of it making you gasp. Then, he turned to face you, and his gaze finally met yoursâreally met yoursâfor the first time since you'd crossed the room.
"Don't." His voice was low, strained, like he was fighting himself as much as you.
Your eyes widened in mock surprise, that innocent look you'd perfected like a sport. You wore it like a halo you knew you didn't deserve.
"Don't...what?" You damn-well knew what.
His grip tightened, just enough for you to feel the heat of it, pulling you closer, so close you could feel the tension radiating off him. He wet his lips, and you meltedâremembering how it felt to kiss them.
"Don't play games with me." He said. "Not tonight."
The warning was clear, but instead of pulling awayâheeding his words and letting that heat simmer downâyou leaned closer, defying every unspoken rule. The thrill shot up your spine, into your brain, turning everything hazy, electric. You were drunk on it.
"Why not?" Your free hand traced up his other arm and his gaze followed the movement, lips parting ever so slightly. "...afraid you'll lose?"
Before you knew what was happening, he had you spun aroundâso fast you barely registered the movement before your back hit the cold stone wall. His drink found the table beside him, his focus entirely on you.
"Don't to this to me. Not here," he whispered. "Your brother is right over there."
You glanced toward Enzo, still too preoccupied with the brunette to notice a thing.
"He's a little distracted, don't you think?" Your fingers on your free hand resumed their path, this time up toward his collarbone. But his other hand found them, too. You looked down. Two large hands, wrapped tight around your wrists, like he could stop the fire running through your veins if he just held on hard enough. Your thighs shook. "Gods, you really are tense tonight, aren't you?"
Mattheo's eyes narrowed, two embers gleaming in the nightâ his lips twitching in a way that made your pulse stutter. There was need in him now, a raw, visceral energy that vibrated between you. Untethered.
He leaned in, closer, his breath brushing against your skin. "You're impossible."
"Impossible..." you echoed, the space between you shrinking with every second. There was no choice in it. It was magnetic, inevitable. He leaned closer, and youâagainst all reasonâmatched him, drawn by a force you couldn't name. "Impossible to...resist, Matty?"
Your lips were so close, you could almost taste the flavours lingering on his breath. The heat of him drew you in like gravity, pulling you into that dangerous space where everything blurredâboundaries, rules, reason. His eyes flickered down to your mouth, his tongue darting out to wet his lips in a way that felt instinctiveâ
And then, the world snapped back.
Cheeringâloud, raucousâfollowed by the sharp crack of glass splintering against the floor. It cut through the moment, pulling you both back to reality. Mattheo's gaze jerked toward the sound, and in an instant he took a step back, his hands releasing your wrists like you'd burned himâlike you were the danger here, a fire he'd gotten too close to.
"We can't," he whispered, and it sliced through you. It hit harder than the crash of glass, harder than the noise around you. "You don't want this. I promise you don't."
You stared at him. You knew what he meant, what he was trying to say, the warning etched in every tense line of his body. The two of you had been over this before. You knew Mattheo Riddle was not the man who would love you, not the man who would stay, who you'd call your forever. You weren't that naive. You weren't looking for foreverâyou just wanted a beginning. A first. A first that would teach you the edge of desire, with someone who knew what to do.
Someone experienced.
"I do," you whispered, barely holding steady under the weight of it allâthe realization that you'd almost kissed him, right here, where anyone could've seen, where your brother wasn't far. "More than anything, I do."
His jaw clenched, that flicker in his eyes darkening. He ran a hand through his hair, curls falling messily back into place, his face twisted in thought, already calculating the fallout, already seeing the inevitable consequences.
"Your brother will kill me," he muttered. "He'll kill you."
"Heâs not my dad, Mattheo. Iâm an adult. He doesn't have to know." The words came out firm, too firm for how fast your heart was beating. You didn't dare move closer, but the tension between you was still electric, still alive. "No one except us."
For a heartbeat, his eyes locked onto yours, and you felt itâthat gravity pulling you both back to the brink. It was visibleâthe weight of his indecision, the way he was measuring the risk, the pull of you against the walls he was trying to keep intact. It'd been months of this. You were relentless. His scowl deepened, but he didn't pull away. He let the silence stretch, your words simmering between you like a match lit, waiting to catch fire.
And then, a nod.
Barely there, just a sharp dip of his head, almost as if he didn't want to acknowledge it himself. You couldn't tell if it was for you, or some silent permission he was giving himself, a final surrender to the pull that neither of you could fight.
"Room of Requirement," he said, vibrating with the tension that still hummed in the air. "Ten minutes."
Your stomach leapt into your throat, every bone in your body suddenly weak. After a moment that felt as though it went on forever, you nodded, and he took another step back.
"Ten minutes." You repeated.
"Ten minutes." He confirmed, before turning and heading out of the ballroom.

TANGLED DESIRES
| pairing : kim minji x fem!reader
| summary : idfk ill update ts later
| warnings : g!p minji smut, drunk driving, aggressive (idkđ), skz hyunjin mention, ichillin yuju mention, minji calls u a bitch like once, not proofread, etc.
| unnecessary bs : like 3.5k words (ik guys itâs long, glaze me later đđ
)ïżŒ
minji stands in front of the mirror, thoroughly admiring her own reflection. she runs a hand confidently down the front of her costume, feeling the fabric cling perfectly to her form. a bold smirk spreads across her lips as she assesses her appearance, practically radiating self-assuredness. âfuck yeah,â she declares, âthis is the one.â with a playful twist to the side, she checks her reflection from another angle, her eyes glinting with mischief. she knows she looks incredible, and it shows.
âyou chose the most basic costume ever, watch there be likeâ 100 other spidermanâs at the partyâ you say, interrupting her as you walk next to her to adjust your own costume in the mirror.
âyeah but who else is gonna look as sexy as me?â minji responds, her eyes unbashedly wandering down your body, taking in your corpse bride costume.
you laugh lightly before responding, âme, obviouslyâ
she raises an eyebrow, a playful smirk tugging at her lips. âyou think that tattered veil and that pale makeup can compete with this?â she gestures dramatically to her figure.
âoh girl please, iâm a bride, and youâre justâŠthe friendly neighbor heroâ you tease, making eye contact with her through the mirror.
âyouâre so corny, just hurry upâ minji replies as she steps outside to start her car up.
you giggle to yourself while quickly taking a few pictures before going outside to join your girlfriend in the car.
-
pulling up to the party, minji parks near some cars on a curb, and turns off the engine. she looks out at the house and can see the lights and hear the faint thump of music from inside. she takes a deep breath, steeling herself for the night ahead. she checks her appearance in the mirror, running her fingers through her hair and adjusting the spiderman mask on the top of her head.
glancing over at you in the passenger seat, watching intently as you apply your lipgloss. her eyes fixate on the way your lips move as you swipe the gloss over them. âare you ready?â she asks, licking her lips.
you smack your lips together, the gloss glistening under the soft glow of the streetlights, letting out a quick âmhmâ
âalright then.â minji takes a moment before finally stepping out of the car, jogging to your side to open the door. as you both walk toward the house, she feels the cool night air wash over her, grounding her.
stepping inside the house, the music swells, enveloping you both in a vibrant atmosphere. people are mingling, laughter bubbling around you, a few even sleep.
minji hangs close, her gaze sweeping the crowd as she takes in the scene.
âlook,â you say, pointing to a peter parker and miles morales standing next to each other. âjust walked through the door and already spotted 2 spidermenâ
the older girl shrugs and sucks her teeth, âyeah, but they donât look better than meâ
you lightly laugh at her response, âof course they donât,â obviously no one could look better than your girlfriend. âanyways, wanna grab a drink?â you ask, pulling her attention back to you. âyeah,â minji replies, grabbing your hand.
as you make your way to the makeshift bar, she canât help but notice how effortlessly others are drawn to you. a few friends greet you with enthusiastic hugs, and lots of âi love your costume!!â or âyouâre so pretty!â
-
after a couple of shots, boredom starts to creep in.
âbabe, letâs danceââ you begin, but a voice cuts you off.
âyoo, itâs emily!â turning toward the sound, you spot hyunjin, your acquaintance (you wouldnât really consider him a friend) dressed in victor costume.
your mouth curls into a wide smile, and you canât help but exclaim, âoh my god, victor!â you stand up from the chair, excitement bubbling inside you. âhey, Iâll be right back,â you say to minji, flashing her a quick grin before making your way over to hyunjin.
minji watches intently as you talk to hyunjin, the way he touches your shoulder, looks at your lips, and stares at you with hunger in his eyes. she notices it all.
pouring herself a cup of gin mixed with soda, she downs it as she continues watching your interaction with the boy. the latter couldnât even lie, his costume next to yours looked perfect, people walking by definitely wouldâve assumed he was your boyfriend. even she was regretting her choice of picking spiderman instead of matching with you.
-
twenty minutes tick byâthough it feels like an eternityâand youâre still engrossed in conversation with him, barely glancing in your girlfriendâs direction. and at this point, she feels tipsy, and she knows that one more shot could push her over the edge.
just as sheâs about to take that final shot, a girl saunters up to her in an all-black bodysuit, complete with a miniskirt, cat makeup, and playful cat ears.
how basic, minji thinks as she sizes up the newcomer.
âhi, spidey~â the girl says flirtatiously, sliding into the seat beside her. âuh, hi?â minji replies, raising an eyebrow.
âyou seem pretty drunk, and who wants to be drunk and alone at a party?â the cat girl continues, her tone overly sweet.
âiâm not aloneâŠâ minji retorts, her voice flat.
âreally? because i donât see anyone next to you,â she pretends to look around before looking back in the taller girls eyes. âand honestly, i wouldnât mind getting tangled up in your webs,â the girl purrs, her hand resting on minjiâs bicep and giving it a squeeze. âiâm yejuâŠâ she whispers, leaning in closer, her fingers trailing down to caress your girlfriendâs stomach, feeling her abs underneath the costume. âhow about we get outta here, and go somewhere more priv-â
âhow about you fuck off,â minji snaps, pushing the girl off her and downing her shot before standing up.
she storms over to you and hyunjin, her frustration bubbling as she sees his hands on your waist, his nose buried in your neck as you snap pictures together. it ignites something fierce inside her, and she grabs your arm, pulling you toward the door. âweâre going home,â she says in a monotone voice, desperately trying to mask her jealousy.
âminji, what the fuck?â you exclaim, stumbling slightly as she drags you. she ignores your protest, her grip tightening as she leads you to the car.
once at the vehicle, she swings open your door and gives you a gentle push into the passenger seat before making her way to the driverâs side. the tension hangs thick in the air, and minji can feel her heart racing as she prepares to confront the emotions swirling within her.
as she starts to drive, worry creeps in.
âbabe?â you call out softly, hoping for a response.
silence hangs heavy in the air.
âminji, whatâs wrong?â you try again, glancing at her profile, searching for any hint of whatâs bothering her.
still no answer.
âminji, please talk to me so i can help!â you plead, your voice edged with concern.
the silence stretches on, each passing moment intensifying your anxiety.
finally, you decide to give up on the conversation for now. reaching for your wipes, you start wiping the makeup off your face, wanting to get it done before you step inside. it feels like a small act of normalcy amidst the tension, but your mind races with thoughts of how to bridge the gap between you.
-
after driving for a while, you finally pull up to your home.
minji gets out of the car with a grunt, slamming the door shut. âbig headed bitch boyâŠâ she mutters, stomping over to your side to open the door. but instead of closing it behind you, she just walks past and heads into the apartment, leaving you standing there, feeling a mix of confusion and worry.
once you step inside, she finally turns to you, her expression still tense. âgo in the room,â she says, her voice firm and edged with frustration.
you nod at her request (demand) and quickly rush to the bedroom. as soon as the door closes behind you, you unzip your dress, feeling a mix of relief and anxiety. the fabric falls away, and you start removing your accessories, the clinking of jewelry echoing in the silence.
your mind races as you try to process the tension from the car. you wonder whatâs going through minjiâs head, hoping you can figure it out before things escalate. taking a deep breath, you catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror, trying to shake off the unease.
after a moment, you hear footsteps approaching the door, your heart pounding as you prepare for whatâs next.
the raven haired girl steps in the room, her spiderman suit zipped down, only covering her bottom half, while a black sports bra covers her top.
you snake your eyes down her body, staring at her crotch area. you can see the outline of her thick, hard cock straining against the tight fabric of the costume.
she approaches you, slightly tripping over her own feet. minji canât grasp how she managed to drive home safely while drunk; perhaps it was the adrenaline, but that rush is long gone now, and all she knows is that sheâs mad and horny.
as you stand there, paralyzed by her intense gaze, you feel the heat of her breath against your lips. her pupils are dilated, almost completely concealing the iris. she cups your face in her manicured hands, her nails digging into your skin. and then, without warning, she pulls you closer, pressing her lips firmly against yours. the kiss is hungry, urgent, and demanding, as if she can't get enough of you.
tasting the tang of alcohol on her lips. she sucks gently on your tongue, eliciting a small moan from the back of your throat. Her hands slide into your hair, fingers tangling in the strands, tugging. the kiss is deep and hot, you find yourself losing yourself in the moment, forgetting everything else except the feeling of her mouth against yours.
you pull back, your labored breaths filling the space between the two of you. she takes a few moments to catch her own breath, eyes half lidded and lips plump from the kiss. almost immediately, she tries to lean in again, desperate for more, but you gently push her back. "wait," you murmur breathlessly, trying to keep your own desire under control. âslow down.â
the bear-like girl furrows her thick eyebrows at your words, wait? youâre telling her to wait?? and not only are you telling her to wait, youâre telling her to slow down.
she clenches her jaw, gripping a handful of your hair and pulling it to command you to your knees. âso you can whore yourself out to that boy, but you tell me to wait? iâm not waiting to have something thatâs mineâ she says, angrily.
you moan and wince slightly at the pain throbbing in your head. then, you feel your lover grab your jaw, forcing your mouth open. she holds your head, guiding your mouth around her clothed boner.
minji letâs out a low moan at the feeling of your mouth around her, deciding that she needs more, she pulls your head away, snickering at the wet spot your saliva left.
finally, pulling the suit down her legs, the tip of her cock peaks out from her boxers, red and angry with precum oozing out of it.
her underwear joins the discarded costume on the floor, and with a eager bounce, her rigid length springs upward, slapping against her toned stomach with an audible smack. she wraps her long fingers around her thick base, the digits barely meeting as she holds it steady, her heavy balls hanging low.
she gently taps your lips with her wet tip, painting them with her essence. âcome on, stick your tongue out bitch.â she says in a husky whisper, her breath hot and heavy with her dazed eyes locked on to yours, daring you to disobey.
and just as she thought, you stick your tongue out. she hums in approval, a string of saliva drips from her parted lips, landing directly onto your waiting tongue.
as the saliva slides down your throat, you feel a thrill of submission mixed with the rush of her approval. her smirk grows wider, and her eyes gleam with satisfaction. without hesitation, she guides the swollen head of her cock past your lips, the velvety skin gliding smoothly into your mouth.
you wrap your lips around the thick shaft, your mouth stretching to accommodate her girth. she starts to thrust slowly, pushing her dick deeper with each movement. the salty precum coats your tongue, and you swallow it eagerly, desperate to please her.
she moans lowly at the feeling, but itâs not enough for her. she needs more. the images of you and hyunjin at the party start playing in her mind, getting more upset, her pace quickens, hips snapping forward as she dives deeper into your mouth. the head of her arousal hitting the back of your throat, making you gag.
âf-fuck, relax your throat,â she demands, her voice hoarse with lust. she grabs your head with both hands, holding your mouth in place as she starts to fuck your face. her thick cock pistons in and out of your mouth at a furious pace, the sound of your gagging and choking filling the room.
tears stream down your face, un-removed mascara running in black streaks as she continues to thrust mercilessly. shes beyond caring about being gentle now. all that matters is the heat of your mouth and the sounds of your distress. "look at me," she growls, tilting your chin up.
her eyes bore into yours, dark with desire and a hint of cruelty. she holds your gaze as she slams forward, burying her entire length down your throat. your nose presses against her pelvis, inhaling her musky scent. she grinds against your face, giving you no chance to breathe.
"shit mâ gonna cumây-you're gonna swallow it all," she pants, her voice tight with impending release. her movements grow erratic, hips bucking forward as she buries herself balls-deep once more. with a final cry, she comes, pulsing warmth filling your mouth as she unloads onto your tongue.
she holds your head in place, forcing you to gulp down every drop of her thick, salty release. tears and drool run down your chin as you struggle to swallow it all. finally, she pulls out, leaving you gasping for air. a string of cum connects your lips to her softening cock.
breathless and spent, she leans against the wall for support. her chest heaves as she looks down at you, your face a mess of tears, saliva, and her seed. she smirks, getting hard again at the sight. âyou look so pretty baby,â she says, kissing you, tasting herself on your plump lips. âiâd like to see that assholes reaction when he sees your face covered in my nut.â
she reaches down and cups your mons, finding your core drenched. she hums appreciatively, "looks like someone enjoyed that." her fingers slip between your folds, easily gliding through your slick heat.
her touch is gentle yet firm, her fingers slowly circling your entrance before slowly pushing inside. you gasp, back arching, as she slowly pumps her hand, crooking her fingers to hit that spot deep inside you. your hands grasp her shoulders, nails digging in as she continues to toy with you.
âminjiâ iâm gonna-â just as you were about to release on her fingers, she pulls her hand back. ânot yet," minji whispers, a wicked grin spreading across her face. she stands up, holding her hand up to her mouth and licking your juices clean. you let out a frustrated whine, legs trembling as you try to hold yourself together.
âget on the bed.â minji urges, helping you up from the floor. âlie down, spread your legs, and keep them spread," she commands, her voice low and authoritative. you quickly comply, crawling onto the bed and lying down, your legs spread wide, baring yourself to her.
climbing onto the bed and positioning herself between your spread thighs. her hands grip your hips possessively, pulling you closer to the edge of the bed. her thick, veined member pulsed in her hand as she lined herself up with your entrance.
she slowly pushes forward. the thick head of her length spreads your folds, inching inside of you. her thick manhood stretching you open.
you grip the sheets beneath you, knuckles turning white as she slowly pushes into you. the sensation bordering on pain. "minjiâ it's too muchâ" you gasp, back arching. she leans down, kissing and biting your neck softly.
"shh, you can take it," minji coos encouragingly. she gives a final thrust, burying herself to the hilt inside you. you moan loudly, your fingers digging into her back. she pauses, letting you adjust to her size before slowly pulling out and thrusting back in.
she sets a steady rhythm, her hips snapping forward as she buries herself inside you over and over. with each thrust, she hits that spot deep inside, making your eyes roll back and your words slur into unintelligible moans. "minâ it'sâ it's tooâ"
"âIt's too good?" minji finishes for you, her voice low and taunting. "well, take it. show me how well you can take it." her pace quickens, her breath growing ragged as she pounds into you.
âholy shitâyouâre always so tight-â she loops one arm under your knee and lifts your leg up, placing it over her shoulder. the new angle allows her to delve even deeper, each thrust now hitting that spot with unrelenting precision.
âpleaseâ so deep!" you beg, your voice barely a whisper.
minji ignores your pleas, continuing to fuck into you with reckless abandon. her thick member splits you open, the sound of flesh slapping against flesh filling the room. she leans forward, her arm tightening around your leg as she uses it to pull you further onto her length with every thrust.
"f-fuckkâ oh godâ itâs too muchââ "shut the fuck up with all that complaining, yn. just take it." her pace quickens, her thrusts becoming almost punishing. the sound of your moans and the headboard slamming against the wall could probably be heard by the whole apartment complex.
the girl reaches between your bodies, her calloused fingers finding your sensitive clit. she rubs tight circles around it, the added stimulation making your inner walls clench around her throbbing shaft. "fuck, you're so tight. gonna make you cum on my cock,"
you let out a high pitched moan as your orgasm crashes over you. your back arches off the bed, and eyes roll back as your walls spasm and clench around her throbbing member.
but, instead of pausing to let you ride out your release, minji continues her relentless pace, chasing her own high. her dick plows in and out of you, drawing out your pleasure but also making it almost painful.
"minjiâ pleaseâ it'sâ itâs too muchâ Iâm too sensitiveâ your voice shakes as your body is wracked with aftershocks. her fingers still moving against your swollen bud, prolonging the overwhelming sensation.
"come on, yn. just a little longer for me, baby. i'm almost done," minji pants, her hips starting to stutter as she nears her peak.
with a final, powerful thrust, minji buries herself to the hilt and lets out a guttural moan. "yn..." her voice trails off into a series of incoherent grunts and pants as her own release consumes her, her hips jerking as she spills warmth inside you.
the sensation of her hot release flooding your insides proves to be the final push. your back bows off the bed as another intense orgasm rips through you, your inner walls milking her cock for every last drop. your mouth remains open in a silent scream of ecstasy.
after taking some moments to calm down, minji slowly pulls out, her softening member slipping from your sensitive folds. fingers trace your trembling thigh almost tenderly. "you did so good for me, love," she murmurs, a note of praise and satisfaction in her voice.
the loss of her warmth and the gentle stretch makes you whimper, your hips hitching forward as if trying to follow her. "m-minji..." your voice is barely a whisper, hoarse from the overwhelming amount of stimulation.
you reach back blindly, trying to pull her closer once more. your body is oversensitive, your mind hazy with aftershocks. she chuckles darkly and obliges, her strong arms wrapping around your waist to pull you flush against her.
"just relax... i've got you..." her voice is low and soothing, her touch gentle as she strokes your skin.
minji's hands continue their soothing path over your skin, one sliding up to cup your breast while the other traces idle patterns on your hip. She presses soft kisses along your shoulder and the side of your neck. "my perfect girl..." she murmurs against your skin. âso good for meâ
your breathing slows and deepens, your body relaxing completely in your lovers embrace. "i'm sleepy..." you mumbled, burrowing back against her. she tightens her arms around you protectively. "then sleep, my love. you've earned it..."
she wraps herself around you like a warm blanket. she kisses the top of your head softly before settling in to hold you close, her own breathing slowly evening out as she drifts off to sleep alongside you.

Deflecting.
Earth42!Miles x Fem!Reader
âI would get your hands off her if I were you, homeboy.â
This one is kiiiinda violent, not by Miles mostly be warned C:
PART TWO !!
such a cute wife (throw me on an island to live in my delusions)
You were quiet, silent most days. Not stepping out of the very thick circle youâd made for yourself consisting of just you.
And yet, still.
Still, the mere thought of keeping to yourself as a permanent transfer student would make even the most daft of people scoff.
You werenât anything special, you were void of attention, and happy that way. Acted appropriately and left anger at the door. Had nothing and no one to complain to, so why make problems for yourself?
Youâre entire life was just floating along your schooling and waiting patiently for the day you left. Even if you were the rare case of âGot transferred half way through the year because the school saw potential!â girl, youâd just wanted to be left to yourself.
But even the premise of that seemed almost impossible now.
Because ever since you were pushed by some rushing kid straight into Miles Morales, tripping him over with you. Him and his asshole friends had made it their life mission to bother you.
âThe cute new girl?â
âYeah, the one thatâ,â The first boy glanced at Miles. â,âtripped on.â
âOooh, shitâ, Sheâs fucked.â The other man whispered back, laughing under his breath. You could feel his taunting stare at the back of your head, and when you checked your peripherals, Miles was sending a sickening glare your way.
You sighed.
â
The ache in your head was probably the only thing keeping you awake.
The day dragging longer than usual had you right about ready to get home and knock yourself out within a minute of being in your bed. Your hand slowly dragged down your face, taking a deep breath and stuffing your jacket somewhere in your locker. The heat of the school mingling with the temperatures the Summer was providing and then adding on the rain from the prior day? You cursed Brooklyn and its humidity. Reaching to close your locker, you finally fit the jacket in the already cramped space. A little piece of the fabric poked out, and you pushed it in while simultaneously trying to keep everything else in too. Pulling a face before you finally managed to get it shut, and slip your finger out before it can get trapped. You turned the key into the dumb metal and scowled at it before pocketing the key and turning to leave.
Being so engrossed in your feud with the locker, you had failed to realise the very man whoâd given you this headache, leering over your frame. Turning straight into his chest and reacting in a pained groan, gripping your forehead in displeasure and glaring up at whomever was standing so close to you.
Which happened to be Miles Morales. Staring down at you with cold, dulled eyes.
âWhat the fuck are you doing, man?â The simmering anger in your voice was made known, and also promptly ignored. He tilted his head down at you, braids shifting with the movement, his expression barely changing. If only he had a conscience. Then maybe you could read his expression, the emotions on his face â, but in this universe? The thought seemed laughable.
He stepped forward, sending you staggering closer against your locker.
âBack offâ,â Youâre voice shook a little as you swore. Dropping his eyelids into a glare, he spoke, âYou keep talkinâ to me like that, and we gonâ have a problem.â
âYou keep creeping up on me like a fuckinââ,â
âLike a what?â Milesâs bored, taunting voice grated against your eardrums.
You let out a shaky breath, chest heaving, and clenched your jaw. Shaking out the annoyance in your bones, you kept your calm.
âDonât get shy on me now.â
A surge of anger rose through you, before you willed it away.
He was antagonising you.
You tried not to instigate him. If you didnât encourage it, maybe heâd go away.
âNever mind. Whatever, Whyâ,â
âMiles, my man.â A different man clapped him on the shoulder, giving you the chance to step back and away from him. The other man was tall and lanky, spindly in the way where he looked out of place for a high school. His blue eyes caught sight of you, smirk contorting the bridge of his nose and baring his teeth. âFuck you doinâ with this thing?â
âWhat dâyou want.â Miles diverted attention from you quick, his companion not getting the hint.
âFuck, nevermind man,â The man sent a sleezy smile at you, looking you up and down slowly, a short whistle under his breath.
âShut the fuck up, James.â
You glared are the taller man, something like bile clawing at your throat. The way he was talking about you was sickening, nothing more than a bothersome rodent.
Miles glanced at you, raising a brow, he wanted to see how long it would take before youâd finally fight back. Through the months youâd been at this school, not once had you actually lost your nerve.
On worse days, like this one, you gave him attitude. Snapping at him the moment he showed up, knowing if you didnât, heâd take the chance too first. He looked forward to those days, where you would engage him. It sent some sick thrill through him. Watching the way your eyes unfocused, urging yourself not to roll them. How your composure surely chipped but never cracked, fingernails digging prints of a fine line when dug into your palms.
He watched your breathing stutter and counted your breaths with you, heâd basically memorised the pattern.
10 beats in, hold for 8, and 12 beats out.
Though, this was only on a good (bad?) day. Other days you just stood and took it. Letting him say whatever he wanted to you, talk shit right to your face. Spread rumours without repercussions and mess with you just because he had the urge.
And just like always. Through the heat of Summer and the full ache in your head, you managed to do nothing.
Just stand and stare as James acted like you were less to a piece of meat.
Miles scowled, dropping his shoulder and causing the man to fall from leaning on him. âOmfâ Hey! What the fuck, dude.â
âLetâs go.â
James scoffed, rolling his eyes but following behind nonetheless.
âMiles, what was that shit about?â
âNone of your fucking business, homeboy.â
Their voices faded as they walked away, the white noise of chattering people swallowing the scraping of Jamesâs voice.
You wondered what Miles had really wanted this time, as he hadnât gotten the chance to say anything with James showing up. You hate to thank him, but god. You mightâve lost your mind.
â
Four months in and you were losing your mind. Miles hadnât stopped, neither had his determination. He seemed so eager to piss you off and do nothing but stare coldly as you composed yourself every time.
Just as that thought brimmed in your head, something kicked out in front of you, sending you flat on your stomach. Hands pressed into the hardwood of the gym below. You groaned, knees being knocked straight to the ground, landing with your arms outstretched in front of you. At least it wasnât your face.
A voice was heard behind you and you froze, unsure what to do at that moment.
âGet up, [Name].â
James.
âYeah, Iâmââ You shuffled back onto your feet. Standing up cautiously and checking your uniform was in place.
âShut the fuck up.â He interrupted you, and you turned around slowly to face him. âEver since I made it clear how little you were fucking worth, that dipshit Miles has been a fuckinâ dog to me.â He spat at you, the anger rising in his voice, he gripped the polo shirt you wore, dragging your limp upper half closer to his.
You shivered at his breath on your face, wanting to gag.
âSorry.â
âYouâre a fucking freakâ.â His group of even more childish people were standing behind him like some sort of team work movement.
âPlease let go.â
âIâll fucking gut you. I needed that motherfuckerâ,â âWoah.â â,âHeâs lucky I donât beat his ass for ditching me.â Seems like attachment issues. âAnd you too, cunt. Iâll end your fucking life.â
He pulled you ever closer, using his height to intimidate you, six foot four of an angry man standing over you, no thanks.
A whistle was heard from the main room of the Gym, prompting James to let go of you.
âYouâre lucky youâre a looker, call it pretty privilege.â
â..â
âNext time Iâll fucking kill you.â
You dropped from where you had been dragged onto your toes, stumbling a little as Jamesâs group snickered when they walked past, bumping your shoulder and wolf whistling.
â
The lesson ended, and you rushed to get out of there. Making your way to the locker room, and being the first in there, also the first to leave. Changing from your sports uniform and rushing out of the Gym.
You kept looking over your shoulder, Knowing that James wasnât lying. He probably would kill you, or, objectively worse.
You tripped over your feet before righting yourself again. People around sent curious looks to you which you ignored easily.
Getting to the front of the school, glass double doors shut with a âlockedâ sign on it, you continued to shoulder forward. Ignoring the shout of the office lady, you pushed against the metal bar and opened the door. Youâd already known about the doors being unlocked constantly, having seen many times teachers trying to check no one was watching before slyly slipping out. So when the door opened for you with no trouble, you breathed out quick, and booked it.
You praised yourself for the amount of cardio you could do, the school was three stories for goodness sake, the amount of stairs you needed to climb was insane.
You slid to the side, dodging the occasional pedestrian and making it to the main gate, another shout was heard from the front of the school and you slipped out the gate just as it opened for another teacher, thanking them as you passed.
âThank you!â You shouted as you ran.
âYouâre welcome?â Oh..â
âKid, Get back here!â
The office lady watched you hit the end of the street and turn, no longer in her sight. She threw her hands in the air and sighed.
âIâm going to get fired.â
âNo, Marlene. Iâll cover you.â
âThanks, John.â
âWhy were they running, anyway?â
âDunno, maybe AP exam.â
â
Miles watched as James was escorted back inside the building. His scowl etched onto his hideous face. Two of their shared buddies trailed behind him, rolling their eyes at the teachers questioning them.
One of the girls in his group was pressing against him, Miles getting more agitated by the minute. His disinterest in her only seemed to fuel her infatuation more, and it was getting annoying.
The guys at his table were all laughing at someâ, probably sexist joke one of them made, the ladies giggling along with them, feeding their toxic lovers the attention they so desperately want. Itâs not like Miles thought he was above these people. He just was. They were scum, but the only friends he could keep. Hurt people hurt people, and all that sappy shit. So when you hurt so much, only a small portion of people can stand you, and you them.
But when your name was mentioned, he perked up significantly â his ears fine tuning to the conversation. Completely forgetting about the raven-haired girl pressing against him, and focusing on the words spat by James and his two huevos.
âSheâs hot thoughâ,â
âFuckinâ cares âf she is? Woulda beat her ass.â
â[Name]?â
âYeah, [Name]. Miles got all fuckinâ sissy I thought she was hot, and now we donât talk.â
âSo?â
âSoâ!? Now I lost my chance with Imogen, sheâs all fuckinâ over him cause Iâm gone.â
Right, Imogen was her name.
âYou want to beat her up over you losing a bitch? Just bag her instead?â
James rolled his eyes, debating it. Miles tensed, his relaxed posture straightened quickly, causing him to almost knock Imogen in the face. Too which she squealed at. An awful noise, really.
He quickly stood, chair falling behind him with a loud clang, and strode out of the hall, Glaring at James the entire time. His two friends laughed Jamesâs sudden hesitance to respond, knowing how piss scared he was of Miles.
James stayed silent until the doors to the cafeteria closed, and the whispers started up. Then told his buddies off in a harsh tone.
No one had ever seen Miles do anything too bad. But with the amount of times heâs shown up to school with a busted nose and smug aura, you could tellâ, whatever fight heâd had.
Heâd won.
â
To say that Miles wanted to have the day away from school, probably wasnât true. With the stuff heâd heard James and his dogs speil, heâd rather you not be alone.
He wasâ, worried.
But when his Uncle Aaron called him in for something urgent right at 4 AM, telling his Ma it was a work emergency, he couldnât refuse his Uncle. He fit his mask onto him, faceplates slotting closed. Claws being turned and clicked into place, he flexed his hands, dragging the window of his room open in the early morning, and left with his Momma sound asleep.
â
The peace and quiet of the day had been rather disturbing. Not having Miles or any of his groupies bother youâ. Was off, not unwelcome, but odd.
So when the bell rang for your fourth class, everyone heading from their lunch break back to their assigned classes, it was only by nature youâd be pulled into deserted corner of the school by some unknown figure. A hand placed over your mouth and the other gripping your wrist, pulling you back.
You struggled against the mystery person, a sickeningly familiar voice croaking in your ear.
âBeâ,â You kicked your head back, knocking his jaw. â,âFuckinâ bitch, be quiet.â
Your foot slipped under you, bringing him more leverage to haul you further from the light of the main hall.
You screamed through his hand, tears building behind your eyes when you heard a door unlock.
âGet in.â
âFuckinâ, Open it wider, dipshit.â
âFuck off.â
James ripped his hand off your mouth before you could realise, pushing the middle of your back so you were forced into a dark, cold classroom.
You fell to your knees, a sense of déjà vu kicking in as you braced yourself with your hands.
Your chest heaved, James slamming the door shut.
âKeith, close those blinds.â
âFuck are you gonâ do?â
âBeat the fuck outta her.â
â
Miles stuffed his claws somewhere in his locker, uncaring for secrecy. No one was there now, everyone having gone to class. Heâd arrived fairly late, not an unusual occurrence considering his occupation, though. So the office ladies didnât mind.
He slammed his locker shut, an image of you doing the same with a pout on your lips coming to mind. He had class with you now, sat right next to you, actually.
So he made his way towards the back block of the school, where youâd be.
â
A hit straight to your cheek sent you flying to the floor again, Mathew letting go of where he was holding you up.
âDude your grip is shit.â
âNod off.â
Keith muttered something about âFucking brit..â from his seat on the prior teachers desk.
You groaned internally, eyes lolling to the closed curtains, the broken glass of the window letting in a sweet breeze. The only reprise from this entire ordeal was a broken window.
Thereâs some poetry in that, or something.
Blood dripped from your nose and lip. A cut on your cheek now present too. James, the creep, had rings on his thin fingers that, when used, hurt to no end.
You were picked back up by under your arms, closing your eyes in pain and hissing. You opened your eyes in time to see the small glint of metal in Jamesâ pocket, and the wince on Keithâs face before another fist connected to your temple.
â
You werenât there.
You had shown up to school, evident by your paper on the lecturers desk, but hadnât shown up for the period.
And by the empty seats of James, Keith and Mathew. He could only guess what was happening right now.
Miles slammed the door to the class shut, ignoring the panicked yells of his teacher and started towards the darker parts of the school. Where no one used, a chemistry accident setting the safety board director deep in debt and a block of the school unusable.
He flung open his locker when close enough, snatching the prototype version of his claws from the locker. Small, sharp finger coverings that were something close to the claws he had for his Prowler suit. The knuckles were brassed and the wrist latch clasped easily to his skin. He slammed it shut again, not bothering with the lock, and honed in his hearing.
The walls were thin enough.
â
âDonât you think this is a little too far?â
âShut the fuck up, Keith.â
âFuck you gonna do if she snitchesâ?â
He gripped Jamesâs wrist, holding the knife away from both you and himself.
ââYou gonâ ruin your life for this shit, man?â
âSheâs been playing my fuckinâ nervesâ, yeah.â
Keith gave him a bewildered look while Mathew stared on in disinterest, still holding you at a position you couldnât right yourself.
The blood had stained your shirt now, bruising littering your face and body.
James had taken to ditching the knife.
âFuckinâ, Whatever man.â
It clattered to the ground with a large clang, the tiled floors of the science room made the echo ring in your head like the growing migraine.
âDrop âer.â
Keith glanced down at you, then backed off. An odd look on his face while he kicked the knife away from James, unintentionally pushing it closer to you.
He walked back to his seat.
Mathew let go, watching as you dropped to the ground and started coughing.
Choking on your own blood before you spat it out.
âYou know how long iâve been wantinâ to fucking do this?â
He raised his leg, tilting your chin up with his boot, how demeaning.
He swung back and kicked your ribs, sending you into another coughing fit while you fought the urge to throw up, tears streaming the blood dripping down your chin.
âYour family ruined my fucking life.â Another kick to your stomach, you gagged.
âTaking my dad, then my fucking girl too?â
What is this guy on about.
âYour fucking daddy couldnât just mind his own business. Had to get involved, then you.â
A harder kick to your stomach, you clenched your abs and covered your head.
A sudden shock ran over you, a familiarity that always sat with James clicking in your mind.
James Ohnn, son of Jonathon Ohnn, a man who had a hand in the collapse of a still-in-construction Kaleidoscope that was said to bring revolutionary science to the new world. Itâs framing shattered while the workers on it all went with it.
His father was the lead scientist of that Kaleidoscope, and by turn in of your dad, was promptly arrested.
âI didnât do shitâ,â
âShut your fucking mouth.â
He kicked your ribs again, and you swore you could feel them crack.
âIâll kill you, you fucking ruined me.â
He swiped the knife again, Keith shouting something you couldnât hear amongst the ringing in your ears.
You shut your eyes, crowding your head with your arms.
A slam broke through the muffles of your mind. Panicked voices and accusations being thrown around before a thick accent curled around your head.
Miles Morales.
âIâd get your hands off her if I were you, Homeboy.â
Miles approached slowly, checking your face while keeping his eyes on the three men.
âFuck off, Miles.â
âNo.â His head cocked to the side, eyes slanting while he assessed the situation.
âWhat, you gonna fight us?â
Jamesâs voice was shaking. Heâd never seen Miles looks o absolutely pissed before.
âDonât think I can, asshole?â
âItâs three against one.â
âRealmente piensasâ, sabes que, no importa.â
Miles lunged at him, Keith and Mathew shouting in tandem while you struggled to keep your eyes open. The pain working its way past your adrenaline and into your bones.
He grabbed James by the wrist, twisting it back and listening to the sickening crunch of his Lunate bone in curious satisfaction. James screamed, trying to tear his hand away from Miles. Even with his right hand pulling too, he wouldnât budge. The metal clicked together every time James shifted, and Miles gave an extra squeeze before letting go. The force James was pulling sending him flying back, he stumbled and tripped over your feet, falling back and smashing his head on the tiles.
The other two boys scrambled for the door, running out the hallway and whining like dogs.
James groaned, rolling onto his stomach, Miles deadpanned down at him. You watched through blurry vision as Miles picked his up, sat him against the teachers desk, almost slumped against it. Grabbed his hair by his crown, slowly bringing his head forward, bending him at the waist. Before slamming his head back against the wood with a dull thud. He repeated this sick, prolonged process until James had fallen unconscious. Standing over him, then going to grab the knife laid a bit from you. You looked at him from your position, not unthankful, but stillâ, he was evidently a contributor.
âDonât move.â
âWhaâ Why? I have to get home.â
Miles scoffed, crouching down next to you, knife in hand. His limp wrists resting on his bent knees.
âYou gonnaâ go home with a cracked rib and busted face? Nah, Chiquita. Vente conmigo, yo te arreglo.â
He stuffed the pocket knife down the side of his Nikes and took off his claws, putting them in the pocket of his jacket.
He hooked his arm under your knees and upper back, cradling you bridal style before standing to his full height.
You panicked a littleâ âWhaâ, No. Miles, put me down.â
âNo.â
âHhâ Whatdyuâ mean âNoâ!?â
You hooked your hands over his shoulders and gripped him as he made his way through the back exit of the school.
âI said, Iâm taking you home.â
â
You groaned in pain, shirt lifted to just under your bra line as Miles assessed the damage.
He had been joking when he said cracked rib, but there was an underlying sense of real possibility. According to him though, nothing had been enough to seriously injure you. Except the disgusting looking bruises littering yourself.
You tried to focus away from the pain. Or Miles in general, he was very distracting, the lingering attraction you had when you met thought to be squished, was bubbling up again.
He had an ice pack pressed to your skin, and if you were a tad less conscious, maybe you wouldâve made a joke of how cold his hands already were. The sweltering heat doing nothing to soothe the bruising.
âKeep this here.â
âYes, sir.â
âWatch the attitude.â
You huffed a breath, laugh being painful.
âYeah, whatever.â
You shifted yourself to alleviate some pain, and took his place holding the pack on your stomach.
He grabbed an anti-septic from the small kit he had for first aid. When heâd pulled it out earlier, youâd questioned it.
âYou get injured women on your room often, Miles?â
âNah, Just you. Usually they can take care of âemselves.â
Youâd giggled at that, not entirely offended but more so amused heâd decided not to take offence at your jab.
His hands reaching for your face brought you back to the present. Flinching back in surprise, you watched him watch for a moment. âChill, ma. Just gonâ put this on your cuts. Needaâ touch your face for that.â
You cringed, the twisting of your lip having you suck in a harsh breath. âYeahâ, yeah, okay. Thanks.â
âMhmm.â
The callouses in his hands were made known the moment he touched you, spreading the cream along the cut on your brow, cheekbone and lip.
His hands were a nice contrast compared to the heat of your cheeks, and the gentleness at which he was using.
When Miles touched your face, leaning his body closer to yours, he wanted to savour the feeling. The softness of your flesh against his own, how he could trace the contour of your cheek without it being awkward. His thumb rubbed a small amount of cream onto your lip and he couldnât look away. The sight of your blood stained skin under his blemished hands had him stuck in the moment. Unable to answer her last question.
âMiles?â
The way her lips formed around his name sent a burning heat throughout his body.
âYeahâ.â
âIs my lip okay? âM I gonna need stitches?â
You poured up at him and he shook his head. âNo.â
âMmhâ Okay.â
You looked to the side, addressing his room and Miles watched the way your eyelashes brushed along your cheeks when you blinked.
âOkay, just this left. Gonna be a little cold.â
âThank you.â
âNo stress, Chiquita.â
He grabbed some petroleum jelly, spreading it along the cuts on your face and moisturising the wound.
He then placed adhesive bandages along the places necessary, and placed everything back into his first aid.
âMiles.â
âYeah, Mami?â
You paused at the name, heâd been using those a lot lately.
âHowâd you know to find me?â
He looked down, shuffling up next to you against the headboard. You gazed out the window, ignoring the tension that was eating at the both of you. He did too.
âGut feeling.â

Bereavement
noun
/bÉȘËriËv.mÉnt/ The state one is in when losing someone important to them
Spiderman: Across the Spiderverse
42! Miles X F!Reader, 1610! Miles X F!Reader
Synopsis: Miles is missing, and all you can think about is getting him back. Upon finally finding him, however, you're taken aback by the copy that stands beside himâthe same copy that was staring at you with wide, shaking eyes full of... disbelief?
Note: this one's for my cousin. The idea actually came to me while I was rewatching the first spiderverse lmao. Who knew Kingpin was such a source of ideas?
part two.
You saw itâon the control panelâ42. Miles had been transported to Earth 42.
You belonged to 1610; which meant that Miles also belonged to 1610.
He was in the wrong universe.
Your best friend was stranded in the wrong universe.
Now, if you were a rational person, you would've called for back-upâmaybe even gotten Hobie's help like Gwen had. But you weren't a rational personâand could anyone blame you?âyour best friend was probably in danger, of course you would act without thinking.
The watch wasn't hard to swipe, everyone was too caught up in what had just happened with Miles to care for guarding their little 'goober' dimension devices. Tracking him down wasn't terribly difficult either, not after you knew which world he went to.
All you really needed to think about was where exactly you had to open the portalâbut luckily for you, Margo was willing to help.
"You owe me for this, by the way." Her head tilted your way, lids narrowed in a sassy look you dismissed with a wave of your hand.
"Yeah, okay, what're his coordinates?"
With a roll of her eyesâthat you very much thought was quite rudeâshe gave you just what you needed; his exact coordinates.
The assortment of colours and geometric shapes appeared before you with a few taps of your finger against the cold device, flitting across the room in a bright blur of pure chaos that hurt your eyes to look atâ
âbut you would endure it; if only for Miles' sake.
"This is stupid, by the wayâ" you turned, facing the girl who insisted on making a snide comment every five seconds, "âyou're not even a spiderperson."
"Says the girl who's speaking to me through a VR headset and isn't actually here right now," you growled.
"Careful, I can shut this whole thing down right now and tell Miguel what you're planning," she returned your apprehension with crossed arms, brows furrowing even further.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry," you sighed, "it's justâ I'm worried about him. Please don't tell Miguel. Miles has saved me so many times, it's time I save him for once."
You assumed you must've looked rather pitiful for her features to have softened up, arms falling limp by her side as she, too, gave a sigh; though hers sounded like it stemmed from a different type of exasperation to yours.
"Just... go. Before I change my mindâpreferably."
You gave her the brightest smile you could muster, hoping to god she could see all the appreciation in itâand there was a lotâbefore turning back around to take a step into the portal.
"Miles! I'm here toâ"
As soon as you walked through, you were met with a dark roomâthough, that wasn't what caught your attention. Instead, your wide eyes landed on that familiar hanging bag, beat down and bits of its material flaked off.
Chained up to it, was your very own, Miles Morales. And stood directly opposite to him was... also Miles Morales?
Alright, you were aware of this whole 'spiderverse' thing but you didn't think it would be this trippy.
"...save you?"
They were both staring directly at you, however, the expressions situated on their faces were vastly different.
Milesâyour Milesâhad his eyes blown wide, shaky pupils not leaving your form for a second, even as he started frantically shaking his head from left to right, he still remained in eye-contact with you.
The other Miles also had his eyes blown wide. This time, however, it wasn't in warningânoâhis pupils were dilated and his form stood rigid; still as a statue.
"Cariño..." he whispered; so much breath in his voice, it barely sounded like words were coming out.
"Y/N! You have to get out of here!" Your Miles yelled, pulling at his chains as though it would get him any closer to you.
You scoffed. "And leave you? I don't think so."
"Don't worry about me! You have toâ"
"Cariño."
You blinked, casting your gaze back over to the other Milesâwho now stood much closer to you than before. He was just an arm's length away, in fact, how did you not notice him approach you?
"Mi vida, oh Y/N..." his voice was soft as he spokeâquiet and coated in an emotion you were unfamiliar withâhand moving up to your cheek to gently trace a cold, steel claw over it.
"Hey!" The sound of metal chains clicking grew more frantic from behind him. "Stay away from her! Don't you dare hurt her!"
Either the Miles in front of you was ignoring your friend on purpose, or he genuinely didn't hear him, because he continued to do as he was doingâcontinued to give you shivers from the icy material against your cheek.
Then, all too suddenly, he flew into your torso, engulfing you in a hug so tightâso inextricably emotionalâyou stumbled back a little from the sheer intensity of it all.
"You're alive..." he breathed outâand it was then that you finally understood what the tone of his voice was. "You're really, truly alive. Oh mi cariño, I've missed you so much."
"Whaâ?"
"Lo siento... lo siento." He buried his face into the crook of your neck and the surface of your skin slowly grew wet, your collar soaking up. "I didn't get there in time, I couldn't save you."
You and your Miles shared a glance.
You saw your reflection in his eyes; the look of shock on his face; the scenes that flashed through his pupils. You saw a fear in him, one unlike anything you had ever seen before.
You saw your near-death experience replay right before him.
"Te quieroâ" the other Milesâthe one holding youâgrounded you once more with his words as he pulled away just enough to look you in the eyes and continue, "âyou know that, right? I'm so sorry for not saying it before. If you hadn'tâ if you neverâ I'm so sorry."
The phrase shocked you, sending an electric pulse down your spine and rendering you utterly immobile.
"I always have. For the longest time. It's always been you. It's alwaysâonlyâever been you."
If what he was saying was true... thenâ?
"Y/N!"
Suddenly, the metal against your hips was replaced by the familiar silky material you were used to; the one worn by your Miles.
"Miles," you breathed out, looking all around you to see the shattered glass that flew in the windâscattering in all different directions as the warmth of the inside abandoned you.
"I'm gonna need you to hold on, okay?"
You nodded.
Then, you glanced behind him, catching sight of the familiar geometric mask of the Prowlerâsharp claws outâcoming in hot and fast and furious.
"Milesâ!"
"I know, mami, I know. I need you to trust me for a minute, alright? You know I'll never let you get hurt."
You nodded once more, nails digging into his dark suit as you buried your face directly into his chest. You felt yourself flow through the air, swiftly moving as the wind worked against you, pushing back on your hair as though you were its worst enemy.
It was nice. It was fun. It was... bound to go wrong.
One moment, you were safe, all coddled up in Miles' arms as he swung through the skyâthe next?â
âyou were falling.
"Y/N!"
(Note: I feel like I need to address this because some people seem to be misunderstanding what I'm doing with Margo.
First of all, Margo is not AT ALL being mean in Bereavement. The whole of that fic is written in the Reader's perspective (and I'll prolly end up writing something in both Miles' perspective too) - this makes her an unreliable narrator so you can't trust the way the story is being told to you is 100% accurate to the true events.
At the start, the Reader is frustrated because she knows her best friend is stranded on another universe - this makes her unfairly take out her frustration on Margo when she thinks lines like 'who always seemed to have to say something every five seconds' (paraphrased).
Margo thus responds accordingly (as she should) and although she threatens to tell Miguel, she never actually would because she is legit one of the only real ones in the movie. So no, to those commenters that were accusing me of making her 'aggressive' cuz she was black - that is not what I'm doing at all. I am writing the Reader's perspective after just having lost her best friend.
Margo is the only one helping. She is literally being kind to the Reader. If anything, the Reader is the one being rude to her but again, that's because her best friend is missing which isn't an excuse but definitely an explanation.)

PAIRING: miles g. morales x fem!reader
SYNOPSIS: your boyfriend, miles, invites you over to his place since his moms not home and he can finally have the door shut. but one teasing comment you made later and suddenly heâs asleep in your arms as you smother him in tender kisses. is he really tho?
WARNINGS/NOTES: pure fluff, one suggestive joke? heavily coded latina reader w implied curly hair, miles being petty, thatâs all !!
âtranslations:â ÂżquĂ© onda? = whats up, novio = boyfriend, relĂĄjate = relax, chuleto = used to refer to a fashionable/flirty boy or fboy, tonto = idiot, lo siento = iâm sorry, princesa = princess
after an exhausting heatwave, new york had been graced with a week of downpours and cool streets.
you hadn't recently seen your boyfriend. yes, you spoke to him in your classes and in the hallways when you saw him at school, but it had been some time since you had last seen him outside of the school building. he frequently claimed to be busy with whatever the hell it was. but you decided against pushing it. miles is loyal to you and has been through a lot, so you don't push him to tell you when he's busy or doing something else to fill the time. instead, you wait for him to open up.
currently, you found yourself comfortably sprawled on the couch in the living room. the morning's heavy downpour had gradually subsided as the afternoon arrived, leaving behind a gentle drizzle that cascaded down the windowpane. without any particular program capturing your attention, this day seemed to be a slow one you just had to follow the vibe of. as you idly absorbed the atmosphere, your eyes wandered to the television, where a journalist was discussing the prowler's recent involvement in a local drug bust.
exhaling a sigh, you contemplated switching off the tv and surrendering to another nap, when suddenly, a notification chimed on your phone. your gaze shifted to the coffee table, where the glow of your phone illuminated the surroundings.
it was a message from your man, miles.
mi novio : ÂżquĂ© onda, mami? i miss you đ©đ©
you couldn't help but roll your eyes at your phone as you silently read the text. miles had a penchant for playfully teasing and maintaining a smooth facade, all in an attempt to fluster you.
you : relåjate⊠we texted this morning and it was you who stopped replying
you : but ig i missed you too
you could almost picture the expression on his face at that moment. maybe a subtle smirk adorned his lips in response to your sassy reply or the mention of missing him. or maybe he even did a small pout, feeling defeated that you didnât completely fold.
mi novio : ik you missed me
mi novio : you tryna come over?
as soon as you finished reading the last line of his message, a loud laugh escaped from your lips. once again, he was acting cocky. your mouth stretched into a soft smirk as you realized you couldn't pretend that you didn't like the way he acted. it didnât help how bold he was asking for you to come over. now thatâs when you knew something was up.
the supple fabric made contact with your skin as you took up your phone and sat back against the cushions, instantly soothing your muscles as you typed up a response.
me : come over and do what lil boyâŠ
with a laugh, you rose from the couch and strolled toward your bedroom, mentally getting ready. it was a familiar routine, the satisfying dance of teasing and banter that defined your dynamic. deep down, you knew you would end up there regardless, but relishing in the opportunity to playfully toy with him was irresistible.
you put your phone down on your bed as you opened your closet and began to put an outfit together. you felt your phone ding as you jumped into your jeans and pressed the buttons together. picking your phone up, you glanced at the text message that flashed across the screen.
mi novio : girl you know not the start with me
mi novio : and donât act like iâm on some freaking timing when you texted the prowler to stop by your window the other night, ma
a gasp escaped your lips, and your hand instinctively flew to cover your mouth, overwhelmed by the sudden nervousness that surged through your body. your cheeks were so warm from the sudden boldness of his comments you swore you could feel the steam radiation off of them. you were well aware of his nature, but this time, he had truly caught you off guard with his little comeback.
your head quipped at the sudden notification that dinged your phone again.
mi novio : whatâs wrong, you stopped typing? donât get all shy on me now when you started it
mi novio : just come over and weâll figure it out damn i jus wanna see you
despite your nervous state you couldn't help but smile warmly at what she said. miles isnât always vulnerable but you loved the little crumbs you got when he spoke his mind. you could tell he really missed by just how much he was double texting, something he only does when he talks to you.
you : i'm comingg you can stop now đ«¶
as you coated your hands with the product, carefully working it into a rich lather, a playful image of him rolling his eyes in response to your text crossed your mind. undeterred, you tenderly scrunched and massaged the product into your luscious locs. casting a final approving glance at your reflection in the mirror, you made sure your fit was good. with your headphones and house keys in hand, you slid into a jacket, being mindful of the weather. swiftly, you shot miles a text, letting him know youâd be there soon.
you took a deep breath as you stepped out of your house, the familiar door closing behind you with a soft click. the gray skyâs gentle glow kissed your skin, casting a dark hue upon your face. the sound of your footsteps created a comforting cadence as you strolled through the gloomy neighborhood. with each step you glanced at the dark shadows that had overtaken brooklyn throughout time.
within a short time, you found yourself on his block, reaching into your pocket to retrieve your phone and let him know you were about to pull up. as you turned the corner, his apartment building came into view, and there he stood, positioned at the entrance, patiently awaiting your arrival. clad in an oversized black puffer jacket, he exuded a sense of warmth, his hands tucked protectively into the pockets for an extra layer of comfort in the outside weather. drawing nearer, his face gradually came into focus, revealing the cool, icy gaze that harmonized with his stoic demeanor. yet, behind the stoicism, a gentle smile graced his lips, radiating a tenderness that could not be concealed around you.
he let out a sigh as a cloudy mist escaped his soft lips. âhey baby,â miles whispered, his voice raspy almost as if heâs a bit tired as he moves closer and wraps an arm around your shoulders, holding you close.
âhola chuleto,â you replied back, enamored by how gorgeous he looked in pale sunlight. you put your hand on his cheek and felt his supple skin beneath your fingertips. âso, can i get a kiss from my boyfriend now?â
before he responded, you prepared to start leaning up to kiss him but miles had playfully straightened his back and added to the distance between you two. you looked up shooting him an annoyed glare as a smirk painted his featuress.
âah, mami. yâknow i canât resist you,â miles mumbled against your ear as he leaned back close to you and let out a small laugh.
he leans down and kisses you, both of his hands resting softly on your hips. he let out a satisfied hum as his lips met the warmth of your mouth. the feeling was something of ecstasy. he had missed you so much all he wanted to do was just be near you. his hand moves down to your lower back, pressing you against him. miles pulled back with a hum as he looked down at you with soft eyes as you gazed up at him through your wispy lashes. he pulled you into a hug as you both slowly rocked back and forth in each other's embrace.
as the chilly mist continued to linger in the air, miles gently pulled away from your embrace, his concern evident in his eyes. "hey, we should probably go inside the apartment building before we catch a cold," he suggested, his voice carrying a note of practicality. his words were accompanied by a warm smile, a gesture that conveyed both consideration and a desire to keep you safe.
nodding in agreement, you intertwined your fingers with his as a silent affirmation. miles opened the door to the lobby and guided you to the staircase as you began your descent up to his floor.
your kisses always had a way of melting his demeanor away into something much gentler, if your friends ever saw him this way they would barely recognize him.
as you reached the landing, miles fumbled for his keys, his hand briefly brushing against yours, a fleeting touch that sent a shiver down your spine. the door swung open, revealing the dimly lit and mostly empty apartment.
âyou hungry? cusâ i cooked if you want anything,â he mentioned from behind you as he locked the door.
"cooked too, huh? and here you are always tryna act all hard," you giggled. "no, iâm good but thank you"
it always was amusing to you how miles acted so differently than how he actually felt but at the same time it gave you butterflies that he had made something with you in mind. he really did have a soft spot for you.
miles shot you an annoyed glare at your words. he never liked being called out, did he?
âiâm not hard or whatever,â he mumbled as he reached behind you, his large hands going around your waist to pull you close behind him before removing your jacket and putting it on the coat rack.
miles turned, catching sight of the amused expression on your face. his eyebrows furrowed in curiosity, prompting him to take a step closer, deliberately lowering himself to meet your eye level.
âyeah, i cook,â miles stated, licking his lips. âso i donât know why youâre giggling at me. a man canât show off his skills once in a while?â
before you could let out another laugh, miles had grabbed you by the hand and dragged you into his room.
âcâmon, letâs relax and watch a movie or somethin,ââ he suggested as you both made your way inside and kicked your shoes off.
miles settled onto his bed, reaching for his laptop and powering it on. as the soft, ethereal glow of the screen bathed his face in a light blue hue, he started looking for fall movies.
"and what movie might that be?" you asked, your expression tinged with curiosity and skepticism.
"i wanna watch a scary movie, but you're too scared so i'm letting you choose. just no more romcom nonsense." miles pleads as he pats the space beside him.
"whatchu mean romcom nonsense?" you repeated in a mockingly hurt tone. "i don't wanna hear that from somebody that said jason x was heatâŠâ
"oh? so we gon bring that into this,â miles groans as he lays back onto the couch, pulling you down gently so you're laying on top of him.
you looked up at him with yet another raised brow as a small pout formed onto his playful lips. "jason x was heat, you're jusâ too much of a hater.â
âyeah i am a hater, but because i love you imma refrain from clowning you for that false statement,â you playfully teased, feeling miles grab your shoulder and lean back, creating a comfortable space for you to rest against his chest. he smirked, and you could tell he was enjoying the banter.
miles sighs, "alright alright, i guess jason x wasn't the greatest...â
he shifted slightly, propping himself up to lean over your body, his gaze fixed on you with gentle intent. with a tender touch, he reached for the blanket, enveloping both of you in its warmth as he carefully draped it over your bodies.
âjason x sucked,â you spat out as miles began to tuck the blanket into your sides.
miles reclined once more, his arm finding its place on your shoulder, drawing you even closer to him. the warmth of his touch sent a pleasant shiver down your spine.
"you always smell good," he remarked, his voice laced with admiration, as he gave your waist a gentle squeeze. "is that the perfume i got you?"
a smile effortlessly spread across your lips at his question. the fact that he had noticed the fragrance you wore, especially since it was the dior one he had given you some time ago, filled you with a sense of excitement.
"could you really tell?" you asked, feeling a bit bashful.
he could sense the flustered effect his words had on you and responded with a sly smirk. as the remote made a satisfying click noise, miles finally selected a movie, capturing your attention. it was a satirical classicâ a scary movie that promised both fright and laughter. "of course, i could tell," he quipped playfully, "the bag it came in made my room smell for weeks."
the sassy retort that was on the tip of your tongue dissolved into laughter, unable to resist the infectious humor he exuded. these were the things that made you appreciate his sarcasm even more, and more importantly, made you realize just how deeply you loved him.
miles smiled down at your laughing form, relishing in the pure joy that radiated from you. his fingers danced through your hair, a soothing gesture he often performed, as he loved these intimate moments you shared. planting a tender kiss on the crown of your head, he tightened his embrace, drawing you even closer as the movie commenced.
giggles escaped your lips as his hands continued to play with your hair, his gentle touch leaving a trail of butterfly kisses along your scalp. as the movie progressed, your positions shifted, with miles essentially becoming your cozy human blanket, his body nestled on top of yours.
with one hand lightly caressing his scalp, you both remained engrossed in the film. however, you couldn't help but notice the subtle heaviness in his eyes. between funny scenes, instead of laughing he would slowly blink, accompanied by silent chuckles that escaped his lips.
"tired?" you ask softly, noticing his drowsiness.
he responds with a gentle "mmhm" and a light snore, his grip on you tightening as he draws you closer. despite his fatigue, it's evident that he finds complete comfort and trust in your presence. as he starts to drift off, his breathing becomes more relaxed, and his hold on you gradually weakens, revealing his vulnerability. in this moment, there's no facade of stoicism or toughness, just the authentic him.
as the movie reaches its conclusion, the blooper reel snaps you back to reality. you reach for your phone in the corner, curious about the time. your heart sinks as the bright text on the screen reveals it's already 9:30.
"my mom is gonna kill me," you whisper under your breath, a hint of worry in your voice.
turning to your boyfriend, who is sound asleep in the crook of your neck, your senses come alive as each gentle breath of his tickles your skin.
"miles?" you call out, trying to rouse him from his nap, but there's no response.
cautiously, you place your hands on miles' shoulders and gently shake him, hoping to wake him up. but of course, he remains deep in his sleep, undisturbed by your sad attempts.
out of desperation you continue to try, shaking him a bit more, but it seems miles is completely lost in dreamland, his snores filling the room. he shifts slightly, but remains peacefully asleep, holding onto your neck and cuddling you tighter.
this turns out to be the worst possible scenario for you. the impending lecture from your mom, the potential attack with a lanky shoe, the groundingâ everything seems likely to happen. miles shifts once again, clinging to you, and you can't help but feel both exasperated and affectionate in this bittersweet moment.
"miles, please..." you silently pleaded, but as you looked down at his serene face, a wave of tenderness and adoration washed over you. he looked so peaceful and irresistibly cute, and a part of you hesitated to disrupt his slumber.
a defeated huff escaped your lips as you surrendered to the sight before you. his bottom lip slightly tucked under his top lip, his eyelashes resting gracefully against his cheeks, and the faint smile that graced his face as he dozed offâall of it captivated your attention. it was an irresistible combination, making his features appear kissable and utterly adorable. the soft snores he emitted only added to the charm.
unable to resist any longer, your desires took over. cupping his face gently, you leaned down and pressed a tender kiss on his forehead. miles stirred slightly at the unexpected touch of your lips, but his response only made him look even more endearing as he leaned into your affection.
a smile played on your lips as you let go of any reserve, fluttering his face with multiple kisses. from his hairline to his cheek and jaw, your kisses were light and ethereal, filled with both gentleness and profound love for him. another kiss found its place on his nose, until the vibration of your phone interrupted the moment once againâyour mom calling.
"damn, i really have to go," you muttered under your breath. summoning the courage, you slowly maneuvered miles off of you without disturbing his peace. gathering your belongings, you kneeled by his bed and pressed a gentle kiss on his scalp, one last show of affection before you run on home.
as you tried to move away, he unexpectedly grabbed your thigh, his grip leaving a faint imprint. with a laugh, you carefully pried his slender fingers off, savoring the sweet connection before leaving his side.
"goodnight, tonto," you whispered teasingly, ready to make your exit.
just as you were about to close the door, you heard miles mumble something under his breath.
"goodnight, ma."
he had been awake the entire time.
in an instant, it was as if you were hit with a flashback, remembering how you used to mock miles for his tough and stoic demeanor. was this his way of playfully getting back at you, by pretending to be a big baby?
"don't 'goodnight ma' me! you weren't even asleep this whole time?" you exclaimed, feeling a mix of surprise and embarrassment wash over you. the kisses you had showered him with while he was awake suddenly felt awkward.
"oh, come on, don't be embarrassed. i'm sure we both enjoyed it," miles chuckled, sitting up and leaning against the bed frame. "yeah, i was just messing with you a bit. it was funny."
"yeah, i bet it was real funny," you retorted, crossing your arms and standing defiantly in the doorway. "you always play too much."
miles let out a laugh, thoroughly amused by the small pout that formed on your lips. he rose from his comfortable position on the bed and approached you.
"aww, is la princesa mad at me?" miles teased, leaning down to your height, playfully taunting you.
"oh, can't you tell?" you shot back.
as miles sluggishly smiled, he couldn't help but say, "but you're so easy to mess with."
"being easy to mess with doesn't mean you should actually do it! i thought you were asleep for real," you commented, moving closer to him. "lo siento, pero i have to go home before my mom skins me alive or something."
miles mumbled, "didn't deny that you enjoyed it, though," clearly trying to push your buttons.
and it worked.
"miles!" you called out, your irritation evident in your voice.
"you're cute when you get all angry, you know that?" he continued to tease, his words meant to playfully provoke you.
as much as you wanted to maintain your anger, you couldn't help but let out a dry chuckle. you were still annoyed with him and his antics, but there was no denying the underlying affection he had that melted your heart.
he goes in for a hug, sighing softly as he kisses your cheek while embracing you. "alright, mami, go home before her anger starts to grow and she starts getting the chancla," he teases, but there's a hint of wistfulness in his expression as you prepare to leave.
you laugh at his joke. "don't manifest that for me!" you reply, worry in your voice as you slip on your sweater. miles walks you to the door, still holding onto your arm.
"no promises," miles jokes back. when you reach your front door, he keeps his grip on your arm and smiles. "i had a lot of fun today." he glances down briefly, his cheeks turning a shade of red.
"yeah, today was nice," you reply, returning his smile.
he doesn't say anything in response, instead emitting a soft hum. you turn to face him and smirk as you notice miles leaning in.
however, you interrupt his attempted kiss with a finger, playfully reminding him of his prank. "should i tho?"
"aww, come on, i'll make it up to you," he pouts, looking down. "please?" miles appears genuinely sad, and it becomes clear that you won't be able to keep up your annoyed facade for much longer.
frowning, you find yourself unable to resist any longer. you rise up on your tiptoes and cup his cheeks before leaning in for a kiss.
miles' eyes light up in surprise as you kiss him. after a moment, he kisses you back, and the kiss lingers on. eventually, miles breaks the kiss, his cheeks flushed and a smile on his face.
he looks at you, his expression hopeful. "are you not as mad at me now? did i make it up to you?"
"hmm, i'm not as mean as you, so i guess you're forgiven or whatever," you say, rolling your eyes playfully as you step outside, ready to start your journey home.
"so dramatic," miles chuckles, watching you walk away. however, he stops you at the door, a mischievous grin on his face. "hold up, did you see how red your face got?" he pokes your cheek and teases, "i didn't know you got that flustered." miles continues to poke your cheeks while smiling, clearly enjoying teasing you a little too much.
you give miles a deadpan look as he laughs at your reaction, not quite amused by his amusement.
miles kisses your cheek once more as you walk out, and calls out to you, "be safe and remember to text me when you get home!"
you hoped too that youâd be safe.
what awaited you at home, however, was pure hell. your mom sent you straight to your room after a heated argument that you wisely chose not to escalate. the interrogation that followed only added to your annoyance. you were definitely in trouble.
as you changed into your pajamas, you settled near your window and observed the serene scene outside. the orange and green hues of the falling leaves gracefully descended from the slender trees, landing softly into puddles. it was a tranquil moment, and you found solace in witnessing the slow descent of the fall beauty.
suddenly, a notification from your phone interrupts the peaceful atmosphere. it's from miles.
mi novio : i miss you already mamiâŠ
with a sense of contentment, you let out a loud giggle and swiftly reached for your phone to respond to miles. despite the trouble youâre now in with your mom, at this moment, it feels like a small price to pay for spending time with your boyfriend.

warnings miles being somewhat possessive
Miles eyed your neck, your usual Tiffany necklace not hanging from there. He raised an eyebrow and made his way towards you where you stood with your arms crossed in the middle of your room.
âMamĂ, whereâs your necklace?â Miles walked closer to you, as you looked down at your neck. âIn my jewelry box.â You responded flatly. He scoffed and shook his head.
âNah, it donât belong there. Belongs âround your pretty neck,â he made his way towards your jewelry box. âTurn around, ma.â
You scoffed and stood still, not turning. âDonât change the topic, Morales. Iâm still mad at you.â
Miles smirked as he walked behind you, whispering in your ear. âSure, you keep saying that.â He moved your hair to the side, hooking the necklace around your neck. âThatâs better, isnât it? Canât let such a pretty little thing hide,â he smirked before he walked in front of you. You rolled your eyes at him.
âAll you care about is if I have my necklace on?â You raised an eyebrow at him. He chuckled, then paused for a second.
âYâknow I hate it when guys stare at my girl. You canât blame me, if you were me you would be the exact way. My girl is mine, ân only mine.â
You rolled your eyes at him again, before smiling. âYeah, yeah, alright. We get it, youâre possessive over me,â you teased. You wrapped your arms around him. âI canât be mad at you for too long, can I?â
Miles smirked as he wrapped his arms around you. âNah, never. At least I know Iâm possessive, canât stand it when other guys breathe the same air as mi princesa,â he looked down at you and kissed the top of your head. ââN donât you ever take that necklace off again, got it? I paid good money for that, princesa.â
You looked up at him and rolled your eyes at him before chuckling. âYeah yeah, I got it.â Miles smiled down at you before connecting your guysâ lips, happy to be with his girl.

It was known half way through the school year at Visions Academy the teachers changed the assigned seats. Being in your last hour, you were pretty much comfortable sitting next to almost anyone in the class.
Albeit, you did have a few in your mind you would rather not be sat with. Kids who didnât like to do the group work, kids who talked too much, kids who always were trying to copy answers, etc.
The teacher went through the neatly organized desks column by column, starting on the left side closest to the door for the new seating chart. There were only four columns seeing as the wooden desks were double seated. You listened as she went through assigning kids to chairs, finally reaching the last column. There were about seven other kids along with you still waiting to be called to the four desks available. All the kids left were somewhat iffy options to be next to for the rest of the year.
âŠ
Only you and three others were left. She called out to the second to last desk, âAmanda and Johnâ. You sigh a breath of relief happy to not be sat next to John who had a crush on you, your thoughts replaying all the times he had tried to get with you. Feelings were not mutual. â And Finally Y/n and Miles.â
You walked over to the seat from the front of the room, seeing the Miles kid already getting comfortable in his new seat closest to the wall.
You never had the chance to talk to Miles much. Actually, you donât think youâve ever talked to him. He was very reticent in the classroom. The moment he finished his work which was always relatively quick, he was out of the class leaving a few minutes to spare coming back before the bell rang.
There was a reason you never made an effort to talk to Miles. In fact, it was more like you endeavored to avoid him. His hedonistic friend group were known for being-, uncivil. They treated others horribly, always making someone do something that would make your stomach churn if you had to be the one to do it. And even though Miles was known to never actively participate in those things, anyone who hung around people who did those things were bound to start someday.
What confused you though, he was extremely smart unlike the jerks he was always with. You heard he was one of the highest scoring kids, every report card stamped with straight As. That wasnât much at this school, almost everyone had straight As and high Bs, but all his grades averaged above 94.
There was also no denying he was very attractive. Surprisingly he was never seen with anyone romantically, unlike his friends who always had a girl or two under their arms. There were definitely people were lined up at his feet though, always trying to cling to him. He always just brushed them off, sometimes blunter than he needed to be.
You had seen it once, a girl you hadnât really liked had gone up to him during passing period asking for his number only for him to look at her and walk right past her. All his friends and their shallow twats of girlfriends laughed at her, walking with Miles past her.
She cried in bathroom for forty minutes after.
You stood next to your seat, putting your bag down. âHi Iâm y/nâ you said, formally introducing yourself to Miles for the first time. He looked up to you from his phone. You watched as he took his time studying you, making you slightly flustered as his eyes roamed your body. He looked back down at his phone, disregarding your presence. âI know.â
You blinked a few times processing the abrupt rudeness.
You rolled your eyes and whispered a few choice words to yourself about the interaction as you sat down, realizing you were stuck next to him for the rest of the year.
You pulled out your phone, texting your friend and roommate Mei, who was across the room, about how rude Miles was. She looked up, seeing you staring at her irritated. She giggled before texting back.
Mei: He so fine tho đ ask em if he needs a dog
You: Mei đ
You: heâs so rude n for what? Like he couldâve just nodded or said his name. I know he got that whole âbad boyâ thing goin but ainât have to do allat
Mei: Ion know gl tho đŻ
You: Ur no help đ Ima ask for a seat change
Mei: It's the first five minutes you have sat next to each other, maybe he is just nervous from ur emmense beauty đ© I know I would be
Mei: PLUS u know Ms Reita does not b swappin seats. You know how many times I asked to be moved from Jessica only for her to say tuff luck and move on? Seventeen times. Just give it time n maybe it gets better you never know
You: đ
You shook your head and put your phone down as the teacher started passing out the work. It was a normal worksheet due by the end of class. You went through, solving the easier problems before going back and finishing the ones you skipped.
You were on your last problem when Miles hand shot up lazily. Ms.Reita looked at him and sighed, knowing that he was going to leave for almost the rest of class period if she let him leave the room. âIs your worksheet finished?â âI wouldnât be raisinâ my hand if it wasnât.â âWatch it Morales, wouldnât want to have to tell your Mom you have detention would you?â He sighed before mockingly smiling âsorry Ms.Reita, can I so humbly excuse myself?â He batted his eyelashes for extra effect, clearly tired of the interaction and ready to leave. She huffed as pointed to the door. You snickered to yourself watching the exchange. He looked at you, a glint of amusement washing over his eyes, but the look left as soon as it appeared. He looked away getting up and walking out.
_
You walked with Mei back to your shared dorm, talking about the nonsense that flooded your minds. Luckily for you, it was Friday and you could go home tonight, you just had to go grab your bag and you would be free from this hell hole.
âŠ
âAlright Mei Iâll see you on Mondayâ you said, grabbing your suitcase and backpack, pulling it with you to leave. She smiled and waved, still packing. âBye baby mamaâ you rolled your eyes playfully at what she said. She would constantly make jokes about how she could care for you and be your sugar momma, even though she was just as broke as you were.
You walked toward the lobby of the school, seeing the exit to the building so close. It felt like knowing air was near when you were drowning, finally being able to catch a break and breathe- âoh sorry baby girl, didnât see you there.â You felt someone bump into you, too intentional for it to be accident. You cringed at the nickname and gathered yourself. Luckily you hadnât fallen, just stumbled causing your bag to fall off you. âDonât call me that John.â You said, picking up your bag and slinging it in on your shoulder. âYou know you like itâ he said, closer than he needed to be. Recoiling at the sound of him so close to your ear, you stuck your hand out and lightly pushed him further from you. âI really donât, I already told you I want nothinâ to do with you.â You continued to walk to the exit, only for him to walk beside you. âCmon baby I can show you the world, stop playing hard to get.â You looked at him, stopping in your tracks, âIâm not playing hard to get, this is me playing I donât want youâ âso you admit you're playing about not wanting me?â He said, smirking. You closed your eyes and took a deep breath, just wanting to go home. âFor the final time John, I am not interested.â You walked again, this time he didnât follow because his friends were walking up to him. âIâll see you on Monday baby!â He called out loudly, drawing attention to the both of you. You scowled and walked faster out the building, happy to not have to see John for a few days.
Unbeknownst to you, Miles was watching the interaction from the beginning, ignoring his friends talk about the girls that passed or the sexist comments they made. He noted how you reacted to John, how much disgust surged through your body language. He disliked John, but for separate reasons. John was one of those guys. Class A jock who didnât know when to quit. Also didnât know when to shut their mouths. Granted, those were the exact people he hung around. But at least he could tolerate their idiocy, and it was better than walking around the school alone all day. Only kid he hung around that wasnât like that was his roommate Ganke.
He watched as you scowled and left the school. He shrugged minding his own business, zoning back into the conversation about who had the biggest boobs.
Monday rolled around quicker than you couldâve imagined. And it felt like a Monday, which never helped. You trudged into your last hour groggily, just wanting to be done with the day so you could go back to your dorm and sleep. Walking over to your seat, you looked at Mei across the room. She wiggled her eyebrows, mouthing for you to initiate conversation with Miles. You rolled your eyes, sitting down. Miles was sketching lightly on the worksheet already passed out on the desks. You tried to look at it, but the braid that draped over his shoulder covered your view. You didnât want to seem invasive, so you just grabbed your sheet and began working.
Finishing the sheet quickly, you got on your phone, scrolling through your socials. You saw a news alert flash across the top of your screen, some message about âthe prowler striking againâ over the weekend. You swiped it away.
You didnât hate the prowler in all honesty, but you would never admit that out loud. Whoever was under the mask did bad things, but usually only to bad people. Usually.
The police barely did anything anymore, making it hard to even go outside without getting mugged or groped or something bad. With the prowler being out and about, some idiots have been scared off the streets, enough to where you could at least walk to and from your family apartment to school. In your eyes, the vigilante kinda helped a little.
âStop tapping, its annoyinâ a voice rudely interrupted you from your thoughts. You looked over to see miles looking at you, semi-irritated. You hadnât realized you were tapping the desk, something you did unconsciously when you were lost in your own mind. You pulled your hand back, putting it on your thigh, âmy fault, ain need all that attitude thoughâ you said looking at him. He rolled his eyes and started drawing again. âWhatchaâ sketching?â You asked, leaning towards him slightly. He looked at you with furrowed brows, blinking a couple of times, before going back to sketching ignoring your question. El tiene algunos nervios. Instead of just excusing his behavior like you did on Friday, you opted to invade his personal space; moving his braid, your head now hovering over his shoulder. He moved his body quickly, his reflexes faster than you could process. âQuĂ© coño estĂĄs haciendo?â He said sternly, but you didnât budge. âYou didnt wanna respondâ you said not looking at him, more focused on the drawing. âThat ainâ answer my questionâ he said, you could feel the irritation laced in his voice, but instead of leaving him alone like he wanted, you grabbed the paper to get a better view. The drawing was a well portrayed mask of sorts, oddly similar to the prowlers, and a few weapons all sketched on the back of his paper. You raised your eyebrow at the drawing. He was actually really good at drawing, the detail for him to have started that less than twenty minutes ago impressed you. He snatched the paper back. You turned your head to him, seeing him looking at you with furrowed eyebrows, getting ready to say something. âAnswer me next time and I wonât have to do thatâ you said before he could speak, a mocking smile laying on your lips. He rolled his eyes, muttering under his breath before going back to sketching.
One word, Regret.
You really wish you hadnât decided to let you imaginary balls get the best of you. Because now Miles how a personal vendetta against you. Damn your pride. Within the span of few weeks he somehow had broken into your locker and trashed you books, he made sure it wasnât anything that you couldnât fix easily though, just a few torn pages. He constantly would shove you, which he mude sure to do lightly to not actually hurt you, into the lockers when he passed you in the nearly empty halls when he was with his friends. He would say the most outlandish things to you whenever you passed him when the halls were too crowded and others could see what he did. He made sure his friends didnât mess with you though, knowing they would take it way too far how they had with the other kids they harassed. And even though you tried to ignore him the first few weeks hoping he would stop, he never did. You swore you could feel yourself loosing your mind.
Miles had only originally planned on pestering you for a day or two to get the point across that you shouldâve left him alone, but then he realized how fun it was to provoke you. You became his entertainment, or at least that was the reason that he told himself he went out of his way to annoy you. And now that he had gotten on your last nerve, you were like a ticking time bomb every time.
You made school easier for him, giving him something to look forward to. Your reactions were always so animated, almost comical, making messing with you so funny. He didnât just mess with you in sense of picking on you., he would mess with you feelings too. He looked for you in the halls just to go behind you and pull you by your backpack into him. You would lose your balance then he would put his hands on you waist to stabilize you, whispering in your the cusp of your ear sternly to âwatch where youâre going mamiâ, a nickname he now would often call you just to see how irritated and flustered you would get. You would always reply with a snarky remark, something along the lines of âhe pulled you into himâ, always stuttering through the sentence no matter the amount of times he had done this to you, siempre fue tan mono a Ă©l. Something that unintentionally brought his face to a smirk was how you never mentioned anything about the nicknames he gave you like you did with John.
His friends would constantly make comments about how Miles liked you and now you were off limits, but every time he shot the idea down with a quick annoyed face. But perish the thought one of his friends gets talks about you the wrong way. They had seen the way Miles looked at the guy who had walked up to and called you pretty. Didnât ask for your number, didnât do anything weird, just called you pretty. The problem wasnât even the compliment, it was how genuinely big you smiled but it wasnât because of him.
Miles wasnât going to deny he found you attractive. He had seen you the first day he walked into Vision academy a year ago and couldnât get you out of his head for week. Hell you were probably the prettiest girl in the school, but maldito eres molestosa. When laying on the bed in his dorm room the nights he wasnât out doing his prowler work, he could hear your pesky voice ringing in his ears, tambiĂ©n pudo ver tu cara hermosa. He hated it. He hated how sometimes your face would pop up in his brain during a mission, and it would make him falter for a moment. Something as simple as hesitating, even for a millisecond, couldâve had him killed mid fight.
He didnât actually care for you, at least thatâs what he told himself. So you can understand why it bothered him so much that he hated weekends now, knowing it was extra days where he couldnât see you, feel you. Even if it was just a brush on the shoulder when doing partner work, or him shoving you lightly when walking past, glaring at you like you were the one that bumped into him.
It annoyed you to no end you were stuck next to him for the rest of the year. What annoyed you even more was how attracted you were to him. He was so dismissive toward you, and for some reason you would sit in your room giggling with Mei about how his laugh, even though the only reason you had heard it was because he was making fun of you, was the most attractive thing you have ever heard.
âŠ
Luckily today was Friday so you could enjoy the weekend.
It had been a few months since you had been moved next to Miles, a few months since you decided to overstep a boundary you wish you hadnât, a few months since youâve been slowly loosing your sanity. Miles had taken it upon himself to mess with you in class, staying for almost the whole period now a days to do just that.
âIf you would finish your work then we could be done alreadyâ you mumbled under your breath, looking at the shared work you had to do that Miles hadnât even looked at, too engrossed in his phone. The two of you had been going back and forth since the start of class, now only roughly fifteen minutes left. He looked up to you, squinting from annoyance, âdo you ever just, I donât know, close your mouth?â. You rolled your eyes âIf you, I donât know, finish your half so I can go turn this in then yea maybe I would.â He scoffed, pulling the paper closer to him. A few minutes passed and he slid the paper over to you âdonât say anything elseâ. You looked at the paper, seeing he had completed his half of the work in record time, you must really annoy him. âWell if you just did that earlierâ you said sarcastically, picking up the paper and walking over to the turn in bin, placing the paper in it.
As you walked back to your seat, John started to talk to you. You pursed your lips, walking past him heading to your seat behind him. That didnât stop him, as all he did was turn his chair around to face you. âSo the party is tonight, you can come-â he paused, putting emphasis on the word winking at you, hinting at something else. You looked at him disgusted. âAnd we can have a lot of fun, perfect chance for you to see how much you truly like me.â You blinked a few times, âyea noâ was all you said before looking at your phone. You didnât fail to hear the small, quiet breathy laugh that fell from Miles lips as he stared at his phone, overhearing the conversation. His laugh alone could make your knees buckle. You quickly brought yourself back to reality, not letting your mind flow with any positive thoughts about Miles. âCmonâ baby, promise Iâll show you a good time.â âAinâ I tell you not to call me that?â You said, annoyed that John just couldnât leave you alone. âYou know we locked in, you keep playin.â âJohn-â âaight hear me out, you come to the party, if you donât have a nice time -which I can guarantee you will- Iâll leave you alone, how does that sound?â âYouâll leave me alone?â You said, intrigued by the offer. âIf you come.â You sighed, âlemme ask my momma.â He smiled widely, happy to have finally convinced you. Miles secretly looked between the two of you with his eyebrows furrowed, thinking how pathetic John was.
A few minutes passed as John sat facing you, waiting for a response. You sighed, causing him to perk up. âI need to be home by 11, and you have to send me the address. My mom also needs your number and your mommas number, comprende?â He nodded quickly, typing all the information into your phone so you could send it to your mom. You sent the message, already regretting your decision.
Sure enough.
You sped walk home, the time nearing 10:45. Wiping the tear that trickled down your cheek, you scoffed. The party started off great, you and John had a great time, initially.
Then things got weird, he tried to take you to a bedroom upstairs, you declined, him being intoxicated, grabbed you forcefully to take you up. You were glad you were taught basic self defense. You kneed him in the bolas and grabbed your bag, quickly leaving. You wondered what wouldâve happened if you had dranken something, where you wouldnât have been fully aware of your surroundings. You hurrying to dismiss the thought, happy to be out the party
Normally you would be much more aware of the world around you, had you not been so lost in your thoughts. âHey there pretty ladyâ you heard, you couldnât catch a break tonight. You started walking quicker, almost jogging with your eyes focused ahead of you, as you just wanted to get home safely. âYou ainât hear us talkin to you?â Your eyes widened at the mention of us, realizing there was more than one. You searched for your switch blade that would usually be inside your pocket, but it was no where to be found. You figured it mustâve fallen out at the party, you silently cursed to yourself. Three men were now matching your speed, and suddenly were next to you.
âWhatâs a little momma like you doing out here all alone, donât you know thereâs bad guys out here?â
âDonât worry baby, weâll keep you safeâ, they grabbed you forcefully covering your mouth so you wouldnât alert anyone, not like anyone would help. They pulled you to the nearest alley. You bit the hand of whoever was covering your mouth, causing them to let go of your face. You took this as an opportunity to scream for dear life, only to be smacked into a state of drowsiness. You quickly shook yourself out of it, feeling the stinging sensation spread across your face. Your ear was ringing lightly, and you couldâve sworn this dude knocked your tooth loose. You spit at the guy across from you, seeing bloody saliva land on his face. The guy behind you who was holding you let go and moved to the side. Before you could react to the new found freedom, you were pushed roughly into the wall behind you. âTonto puta, all you had to do was cooperateâ the guy in front of you said, wiping the spit off his face.
Ready to accept whatever was going to happen, you closed your eyes and scrunched your face, only to hear screams of pain from the three men, followed by an uncanny silence.
You opened your eyes, seeing the prowler standing where the man in front of you once was with a bloody claw. The three men were laying on the ground, damn near lifeless. Your eyes widened, your mouth parting from the sight. The vigilante stared at you, you could see the eye like symbols displayed on the mask slightly widened at the sight of the hand-mark on your face before recomposing into a stoic, neutral setting. You were too shocked, and mostly scared to say anything.
The figure got closer, to which you could work out was a male. You took note of the two braids cascading down their neck behind the mask, as well as the oddly clean Jordanâs they sported. You didnât have much time to take in their lanky appearance, as they took a final step towards you, making it so you had to look up at their mask. Their presence loomed over you eerily. You gaped at him, your pleading eyes filled with fear. You knew he wasnât necessarily a villain per say, closer to the flip side if anything. He did just save you. But the thought of an individual being so much more powerful than you, knowing that at any moment he would always in control no matter what you did, threw your brain into a constant state of unease. Feeling your heart beating out your chest, you raised your hands lightly placing it on their chest to stop them from getting any closer, even though you knew they could easily overpower you no matter what you did. His heartbeat was slow, almost calming to feel. âPleaseâ you whispered, voice barely leaving your larynx.
As quickly as he had come he left. You looked around, finally spotting him lurking on top of the building across from you, crouching along the ledge looking at you. You looked at the Prowler one last time, making eye contact with their mask silently mouthing a âthank youâ. He flipped away to wherever else he goes, not acknowledging your gratitude. You nearly collapsed, sliding down the wall. Your hands aggressively wiped your face before meeting your hairline, resting there as you breathed ruggedly. The adrenaline you had was wearing off, and the bruises the men left you with became more prominent on your skin, as well as more painful. At least your opinion about the prowler was correct, he was a good guy after all, to you at least.
Returning to school on Monday was a catastrophe, news spread like wildfire about you being attacked by the three men, as well as your encounter with the Prowler. Random people were approaching you asking what is what like and other random questions revolving around your attack. No one however, was talking about what happened at the party. But you couldnât blame them, not many people saw what had happened.
âŠ
It was finally the last period. You wanted nothing more for this to blow over, and for you to be done with the day back in your dorm. You walked in, wavering slightly seeing John leaning on your desk. You noticed Miles sitting in his seat on his phone, eye bags deeper than usual.
You quickly sat down, trying your best to ignore John's attempts to talk to you.
âY/n please it was an accident-â
You ignored him getting your pencil out of the top zipper of your bag.
âY/n please just listen I was drunk and I didnât know what I was doing you gotta believe meâ he leaned toward to take your hand, causing you to flinch and pull back. You looked at him angrily âyou think being drunk excuses anything?â Your voice was calm and almost at a whisper despite how you felt, trying your best to draw the least amount of attention. He sighed desperately, âNo it doesnât but you gotta see it from my perspective-â âwhat perspective John?!? The one where you tried to force yourself on me? Or the one where you tried to take me upstairs against my will? I swear if you come near me again, I wonât hesitate to cut your polla off, comprende?â Ms. Reita asked everyone to take their seats, causing John to look at you solemnly before scoffing and turning to his seat.
You huffed, putting your head between your crossed arms on the table. âWhat happened at the party?â You looked over to Miles surprised. You hadnât expected him to ask you any questions, but if he did you figured it would be something about the prowler incident. âNothinâ.â You said dismissively. He looked at you skeptically. Before you could even react, he grabbed your phone off the desk and tucked it in his pocket. âYou ainâ gettinâ it back til you tell me what happened.â âWhy do you care so much?â âYour wrinkles nâ dark circles look worse than usual, wanna know why.â âCould say the same for youâ he looked at you blankly. You sighed, âJohn got a lilâ too handsy is all, donât worry âbout it. Can I have my phone back-â âmami, how handsy?â His stern voice caught you off guard. He looked at John's direction for a split second, you couldâve sworn youâd seen Miles look at John with a look of determined death. He looked back at you eyebrows furrowed, âhe tried to take me upstairs nâ I wasnât feelinâ it, so he tried to make meâ you uttered, a little quieter towards the end of your sentence. âLeft before he could do anythingâ you finished, âcan I get my phone back now?â You looked at him tiredly. He let out a simple huh and gave you your phone back, his full attention now on johns figure ahead in the seat diagonally ahead of him.
âŠ
The class had been dismissed, luckily Miles had decided to leave you alone today, you were too tired to deal with his antics anyway. Walking over to Mei dismissing John's stare, you two began walking out of the class heading to the lobby so you head back to your dorm room. As you were walking back Mei stopped at a vending machine to get a couple snacks for the dorm so you two could have a movie night. You waited as she inserted her money, clicking which snacks you both liked to buy them. As she was stuffing the snacks in her bag zipping it up, a student screamed âFIGHTâ. You looked over seeing a crowd forming and walked over to see what was happening. Bullying your way to the front you saw Miles on top of John, pounding John's blood stricken face damn near permanently into the floor. Your eyes enlarged at the sight. Miles was clearly irate, and from the looks of it, had no plans of stopping. A security guard quickly ran in and grabbed miles off John's limp body. Miles spit at John, yelling something at him in Spanish that you couldnât hear over the commotion. You looked at John's body, seeing him look almost unconscious as he coughed violently and rested on his elbows, trying to catch his breath. You gaped at Miles, shock written all over your face. His chest rose and fell quickly as he looked around the room seeing all the people watching. His eyes stopped as they met yours, his gaze softening slightly before he looked away. A huff fell from his lips as he was dragged to the principal's office. He jerked his arm away, muttering something about how he knew how to walk.
John had to be sent to the hospital.
Miles was in the principal's office, sitting silently as John's parents screamed at the principal while Milesâs mother sat next to him upset. âMy child is a great kid! And how is he supposed to feel safe in this school anymore knowing this can happen again, huh?â John's mom spewed mindlessly, ranting about how she was going to press charges. Miles scoffed, causing Rio to look at him with a look of âwatch your mouth before I watch it for you.â He just looked down at his hands in his lap.
Miles walked out of the classroom to head back to his shared dorm. He couldnât get out of his mind what John had done to you. As vague as your response was, he knew more had happened between you and John. He didnât know why it bothered him so deeply, it wasn't even really his business. He knew the thought of someone being touched like that made him upset, but he felt pure outrage from this specifically, and he knew deep in his heart it was because it was because it was you who had gone through it.
As much as he hated to admit it, he knew he felt something different for you when he intervened the night the three men attacked you. He almost added three bodies to his belt, for you.
Usually, as bad as it sounds, he would mostly let people get robbed or thrown around in alleyways. He would help occasionally if it sounded gruesome or of dire need for assistance. But he had to save his city from the sinister six, and petty crimes that were bound to happened werenât the ideal way to do that. But the voice screaming sounded familiar, kinda sounded like you. The thought of you being in danger offset his nerves, and he knew a you were going to a party that night so he went, just to check.
Sure enough.
He stalked you from above the rest of your walk home just to make sure nothing else happened.
He walked into the lobby consumed by his own thoughts, snapping back to reality as he overheard John talking to his friends about how ây/n finally let me hit, she was so tight-â. He paused in his tracks. Ainâ no way acaba de escuchar lo que pensĂł que hizo. He turned to the direction of John's voice, this was now his business. He walked over, becoming increasingly irate the more John talked about âhow much you loved itâ. John turned, hearing footsteps approaching alarming quickly. He saw Miles, John knew Miles had heard about what really happened at the party. John scoffed, somewhat anxious he had been caught in his lie and afraid Miles would try to embarrass him in front of his friends. He quickly spoke before Miles even had the chance to say a word,âYou ainâ needed here Miles-â John was cut off by a fist colliding with his face, not what he was expecting at all. Johns friends gasped or yelled in shock, Miles didnât stop though. Miles didnât even say anything, small grunts of anger being the only thing leaving his lips as John hit the floor. Miles siguan latiendo la mierda fuera de Ă©l.
âWhat you won't even speak huh?â John's mom said, facing Miles. He furrowed his eyebrows at her. âYou wanna send my baby boy to the hospital and have no reason why? Why are you picking on my kid huh? You-â âYou think your kid is the best thing on Gods green earthâMiles scoffed, cutting her off. âCause he is, my kid wouldnât hurt a fly and you-ââyour oh so wonderful kid tried to rape a girl then went around yappinâ boutâ how much she enjoyed it.â The room fell silent. The principal eyes went wide, âUh-Uhm, how about we resume this tommorow-â âwell hold on,â Rio spoke for the first time, âMy son intervened and helped someone in danger because their son was making girls unsafe in the school? Why is he being punished?â âWell Mrs.Morales we didnât know that happened-â âso you immediately assumed my son was the cause of this not even getting evidence before?â âWell he did start-â âuhn-uh, their child is making the school more unsafe than Miles ever did. Why arenât they being scolded for this?â
The principal apologized, saying Miles would be suspended for the rest of the week for starting the fight, but no charges could be pressed to avoid anybody getting into serious trouble.
Miles sat in the passenger seat of his moms car, the leather caressing his skin as he looked out the window. A hushed silence had fallen over the two a while ago. Silence is always worse than actually being screamed at, the anticipation is always so suffocating. âSo.. whoâs the girl?â His mom said, looking at the road ahead. Miles glanced at her before looking back out the window, âclassmate.â She nodded, humming. Rio knew her son, and she knew Miles wouldnât damn near end a kids life just just for some classmate.
âElla tiene un nombre?â He sighed lightly, âY/n.â Rio nodded and hummed again, looking at miles through the corner of her eye. âAt some point throughout the week, I expect her over for dinner.â âI donât even have her number, how is she supposed to knowâ Rio clicked her teeth and smirked,
âEncontrarĂĄs una maneraâ.

miles âi got itâ morales earth 42 miles 591 words

Between the both of you, Miles is always the first to stand up when the bell rings at the end of class. With all the textbooks you bring to school, he knows your backpack is just one mechanical pencil away from hitting a ton and for that reason he never lets you carry it yourself. In fact, he makes it his mission to pick it up before you do. With his own backpack on one shoulder, heâll watch for the exact moment youâre done tucking your supplies away just to interrupt you as youâre mid-reach so he can scoop it up into his free hand by the top handle.
âI got it.â
Miles always pays for you guysâ dates. You knew this wasnât abnormal when it came to relationships, seeing as heâs the guy, youâre the girl, and thatâs just the âsocietal normâ or whatever. Itâs how your dad told you a male should treat the girl heâs with, and based off how Miles acts, you assumed his own father had given him the same speech as well before he passed. But even when you two take a stroll to the corner store to pick up some cheap snacks for a study sessionâthe total coming out to as little as $4.37 for some sunchips and sour gummy wormsâhe still wonât let you pay.
Heâs already getting his wallet out before the cashier can read the total off. And when you try and protest, heâs allâ
âI got it.â
When your laces have come undone and you hadnât noticed.
âMa, your shoeâs untied.â
Youâll stop in your tracks and look down at your loosened laces, prepared to hand your phone off to him so you can bend down to tie them, and like alwaysâ
âI got it.â
When the pizza you ordered an hour ago finally shows up at the door and you get the âarrivedâ notification on your phoneâwhich heâs already seen because heâs always looking over your shoulder as you scroll your time away on tiktok, watching them with you as an excuse to be all up on youâyou can bet your life on what his response will be.
âI got it.â
You knew he only wanted to be a gentleman, but at this point, you were convinced âI got itâ was his middle name instead of Gonzalo.
For a while now, Miles has felt like he has to take responsibility and do everything even when something isnât asked of him, and you wanted him to know that same sentiment didnât have to apply to the two of you. So you started trying to beat him at his own game.
Brushing past him and rushing down the concrete steps of his apartment building to make it to the passenger side door and open it for yourself before he can.
Keeping your backpack on the opposite side of your desk so you can have the chance to pick it up before him, even if it earns you a subtle glare each time. And while some days it really is too heavy for you to carryâheavy enough to make you question exactly what point youâre trying to prove hereâyou remain determined.
Having cash ready and smacking it down on the peeling countertop of the bodega before your snacks have even been rung up, and regardless of how insane you look and how the clerk squeezes his face at you to confirm that, the triumphant grin you give Miles (whoâs struggling to contain a smile of his own) doesnât falter.
âI got it.â

spendin' all my nights alone waiting for you to call me. you're the only one I want by my side when I fall asleep đ€
â pairing: earth42!miles x reader
â summary: after a long day there's nothing better than having your lover help you as you do your night time routine, no matter how girly it might be.
â warnings: the lower caps are intended. reader uses she/her pronouns.
â author's note: this is supposed to be longer but I lost everything and had to restart it from scratch. also this isn't proofread what so ever. I live like a warrior i'll die like a warrior đ«Ąđ«Ą(I'm too lazy to read alat)
if anybody told Miles from when he was new to being prowler that he would be sitting in his room, wiping a girls makeup off specifically HIS girls makeup off he'd just tell them. âman you're buggin.â
yet here he was.
after a long day of standing around with music blasting in your ear while people laughed in the background you were finally back alone with Miles. it was silent but at the same time it was comforting. Miles was there kneeling infront of you, wiping your makeup off as you sat on the vanity chair he had bought and installed in his room along with the hello kitty mirror he saw people hyping up on tiktok.
don't get it mixed up though Miles would never use that vanity, he bought it for you. he filled up the drawers with makeup and products he'd see you use just for you. he did all of this because all he wished was for you to feel at home with him.
he went through the hard work of building and putting up the parts by himself as he was too embarrassed to ask uncle aaron or his mom for help. what would uncle aaron say if miles would randomly come in his home saying âhelp me build this pretty pink and white vanity I just bought.â
you always crashed at his place or miles would crash at yours. either way he always insisted on helping you with your nightly routine.
"all done Mami, now go wash up. I'll get your pajamas from the laundry." Miles attempted to get up before getting stopped by your hands pulling him down to peck his cheek. you pulled away while muttering a thank you.
Miles smirked at you while getting up.
"yeah, no problem. anything for my girl."
miles was the sweetest person to ever come into your life. who knew Brooklyn's number one killer would be such a lover boy? maybe it's because of the fact that he's always been a mamas boy growing up.
you finished up your shower, wrapping the towel around your body before a knock echoed through the bathroom. "ma, can I come in? I've got your pajamas." you quickly opened the door to see Miles standing there with your pink pajama set in his hands.
he stared at your figure watching as water droplets still slowly rolled down your body.
"Morales you're staring at me." you playfully said while side eyeing before taking the clothes out of his hands. Miles huffed and grabbed you by the waist, pulling you closer silencing your giggles with a kiss.
"whatever ma you're trippin' I wasn't even staring you're just reading into it too much. even if I was can you blame me? I bagged such a pretty girlfriend."
Miles eyed you down once again before leaning close to your ear. "maybe even future wife."
ugh what a tease. yet everytime he did this you felt butterflies in your stomach.
he chuckled before exiting the bathroom leaving you there staring at his back, stunned. you shook it off with a laugh and got dressed so you could be back in his arms.
you brushed your teeth and did your skincare that Miles would always restock on. you felt bad as they were pricey but he would always insist on buying them for you.
you hanged the towel on the rack to dry and exited the bathroom, practically speed walking to Miles room. once you opened the door you were met with Miles laying comfortably on his bed with nothing but a pair of grey sweatpants on. He had his arms up with his phone in his hands scrolling on whatever socials he was checking up on.
you closed his bedroom door before crawling in between his arms, laying your head on his chest. Miles sighed and put down his phone, wrapping his arms around you. He pecked the top of your head making you look up at him. "long day?" you asked him making miles suck his teeth.
"tch. ma you were there with me, yes the function was fun but of course my mom had to make us stay till past midnight talking about some âhold on we'll leave after I'm done talking.â" you laughed at him mimicking his mom's voice whole repeating what she would keep saying during the function.
mrs morales loved you so she told Miles to invite you to their family's function as his date which you gladly said yes to.
the day was long and your feet might've ached from all the standing as every seat was taken up, your stomach might've hurt from all the aunties insisting on you to eat more but at the end of day you got to see Miles smile, and it wasn't because of you. for some that was the rarest sight to witness.
after the death of his dad Miles drifted away from everyone but here he was laughing and bickering with his favourite cousins. he was actually playing his favorite sport, basketball for once and laughing whenever he'd steal the ball from his cousins.
you witnessed Miles grow as a person and slowly pick up broken pieces. it was truly heart warming.
here you laid in the dead of night, ear on Miles chest hearing his soft heartbeat with your eyes closed. you were calm yet your head was racing with thoughts. you decided to break the silence after awhile of listening to his breathing pattern and heartbeats. "hey Miles, I'm not sure if you're asleep but I have a question."
it was silent for awhile making you think Miles fell asleep before you could ask it but then he answered. "go ahead Mami, I'm listening."
"would you give the world to me?" you looked up at him only to see his half lidded eyes staring down at you. "mhmm no."
your heart dropped at his answer, lips close to quivering, but the hard beating of your heart slamming against your chest was calmed down with what you heard him say afterwards.
"hermosa, why would I do that when there's other planets too?"

âThereâs a fight happening at the park.â
âI am at the park?â
âArenât your spidey senses tingling?â
âShut upâohâŠI might have been preoccupied with theââ
âWith the tingles Dani causes, yeah, yeah, itâs by the fountain.â
âOh my god, look itâs a squirrel!â The girl squealed, shaking the latter beside her who pried away the hands that gripped onto her arm with a deep sigh.Â
âYeah, I can see,â Haerin grumbled while fixing her shirt.
âY/n lookââ Her joyous voice came to a halt as she turned around and the said girl was no longer there where she had been. âWhereâs Y/n?â This made Haerin turn away from the tree they had stopped by and her eyes scanned the park.
The sun was shining brightly with nothing but a gentle breeze to cool everyone off together with the shadows.Â
Danielle walked past Haerin with a frown, thinking she had lost her other friend among the people walking in the park. âItâs not the first time she just disappears.â The latter mumbled and followed after the girl who hummed and took out her phone.Â
âI will call herâWait here just in case.â She looked back and received a simple nod from Haerin who stopped under the shadow of a tree. Her eyes scanned the area before watching the other girl who walked completely engrossed in her phone.
Danielle squinted her eyes, trying to fix her brightness and cover her phone to see anything all while trying to head for the nearest shadow to make life easier for herself.
The second she got it right she looked for the girlâs number which wasnât hard to find; all while she wondered how Y/n always managed to disappear or get lost so easily.
She was confused, to say the least, seeing how the girl would avoid her at times or trail behind them. Quite often Danielle made sure all of her friends felt included, but as she did so she rarely succeeded in including herself as the centre of Y/nâs attention. However, the few times that she wasâ
âWatch out!â She looked up from her phone with wide eyes just as she had managed to press call. The sound of the fountain she was near was just a mere background noise that was drowned out when she finally paid attention to her surroundings; realising that a lot more than the chirping of birds and water was sounding around her.Â
Danielle yelped at the body that collided with her, shutting her eyes, the phone that was in her hand no longer there. There was a brief swoosh of air, her feet no longer on the ground, but she could feel herself falling until she collided with the same body that grunted right under her. The impact of her fall was muffled only making her breath hitch.
She raised her head from the body whose heart was about to thump right out of its ribcageâstill feeling it thrash under her palms, something was buzzing tooâDanielle went mute at the person right under her. It was none other than the local hero.Â
âHereâs your phone; are you alright?â She took her phoneâthe call went to voicemail and that faint buzzing stoppedâtrying to find words but it was close to impossible as her own heart was pounding from the adrenaline the action had caused her.Â
âYeah, Iâm alright.â She managed to get out, wanting to find the next words to thank her hero correctly, but she yelped once again. âNot the headââ Her body was flipped over, shutting her eyes tightly at the slight impact of her back against hitting the grass, however, her head was well protected by a hand.Â
This time she opened her eyes and flinched. âOh come on!â The hero exclaimed at the object that had been thrown their way, hitting the Spideyâs back.
âFive, sixââ Danielleâs mouth was left agape at the hero who did a front handspring over her, âpick up sticks,â and then swungâwith webâwhat was a thick branch, âseven, eight, lay them straight,â before launching it at the group of guys who got hit like bowling pins, some trying to scramble away.
âWhy are you always daydreaming!?â Haerin was the one pulling the girl up from the grass and away from the fight scene.
âIâm saved as Y/n/n with a red heart in Daniâs contacts.â
âGreat Y/n, but youâre literally in the middle of a fight.â
âSheâs so pretty!â
âYouâre hopeless.â
âI will be anything for her!â
âIt all happened so quickly too!â Danielle exclaimed as they walked through the hallways of the college. The girl was so engulfed in the story she told that nothing else would reach her ears.
âI didnât even notice the fight and suddenly thereâs a commotion happening and one of them was about to crash right into meâone second Iâm on the ground, the next Iâm lifted from itâSpidey swoops in and saves me!â
âWe believe you.â Hanni groaned as the girl wouldnât stop talking about it.
âThatâs not the point,â Danielle whined as she looked over her friends, her eyes momentarily landed on the girl who was trailing after them in the back, Y/n. She sighed and shook her head, looking back at Minji and Hanni who were closest to her.
âThe point is that I didnât even get to thank her.â She reasoned, feeling grateful, but somewhat bummed out that she couldnât even thank the hero who saved her a few days ago.
âPlus Haerin and Y/n were there at the park with me so I have my proofââ She turned around and stretched out her arms to point at Haerin and Y/n, but ultimately stopped which made the whole group stop. âWhereâs Y/n?â Her eyes left the spot where Y/n would be and they moved to Haerin who was about to open her mouth but was cut off by Minji.
âShe always disappears into thin air.â
âThe same thing happened yesterday when that fight happened,â Danielle mumbled and turned on her heels as they continued to walk through the hallway.
âThe cat wouldnât stop clawing at my arm.âÂ
Sakura threw a glance at the girl, tilting her head to try and have her at the correct angle as the Y/n hung upside down from the ceiling of their dorm. The curtains were down, the room was dim, lit up by Sakuraâs setup who was busy fixing up the small tears in the spider suit.Â
âAlso!â She clicked her tongue at how loud Y/n got all of a sudden. The older girl hummed and flinched again at the loud clatter, looking over to her side to see the girl standing up from the floor and fixing the bin that got tipped over after the fall. âIâm quite sure Haerin knowsâŠâ Y/n finished and chewed on her nails as she walked to Sakura and looked over her shoulder.Â
âKnows what?â
âMy secret.â Y/n whispered right into her friend's ear which made Sakura press it against her shoulder at how it tickled.Â
âShe doesnât.âÂ
The younger girl stood up straight and stretched her back, âIâm telling you, she knows more than she lets on.â She sighed at the feeling and looked back down at her roommate who turned in the swivel chair. The black with red details suit back to its normal self in her hands.
âYou should get some rest,â Sakura suggested, dismissing Y/nâs suspicions while handing the suit over to her.Â
The girl hummed. âI asked Yunjin to grab me a coffee on her way back, Iâm heading to the public library to print some stickers. I made new designs.â Y/n explained as she moved behind the divider to slip the suit on and have it under her clothes.
âWhy not the schoolâs library?â Sakura questioned as she turned back to her computer.Â
âBelieve it or not; the librarian has given me a ban.âÂ
âI believe it whole-heartedly.â She rolled her eyes as Y/n blew a raspberry and grabbed her backpack just as there was a knock on the door.
The girl paid no mind to anyone around her as headphones rested atop her ears, printing the stickers she would leave around the city when swinging around.
It was calm and she hadnât bothered to return to her friends after disappearing to help out someoneâs cat. It wasnât like she didnât want to hang out with them, the problem was Danielle.Â
WellâŠMaybe Y/n was the problem because she forgot how to act correctly whenever Danielle smiled at her and just did anything around her. She couldnât help but get lost in her every single time and it was difficult to keep up with anything else going on around her.
It had become a little problem when danger arose and the star of Y/nâs orbit was around.Â
The girl quickly turned around, grabbing hold of the hand that was about to touch her shoulder and her eyes widened. With Danielleâs wrist still in her hold she pulled down her headphones with her free hand before quickly letting go of the latterâs hand.Â
âSorry!â She exclaimed and cowered after as it made people turn their heads in the silent library.
Y/n quickly reached for her phone to pause the music which was sounding through the headphones and looked at the two girls in front of her; Danielle let out a breathless chuckle.
âI tried to call your name at first.â Y/n pursed her lips, feeling how her face felt a lot hotter, not just her face, but her whole body. Was it the suit underneath? No because it never got hot in it.
The sound of the stickers printing was what truly brought her back and her eyes landed on Haerin who was right behind Danielle.
Their eyes met and Y/n felt a twinge of paranoia; both girls squinted their eyes at each other and Y/nâs gaze got a bit more intense almost challenging before Haerin frowned.Â
âOh no, does she know?â
âAnywayââ Danielle was the one to break the silence and intenseâŠstaredown? She had no clue what it was, but it eased as Y/nâs eyes landed on her, making her smile a little bigger than she usually did. âYou disappeared earlier.â
âUhm, my roommateâI took her notes by accident instead of my own.â Y/n came up with a quick lie, nodding along to her words to make them seem more believable.Â
âOh okay, so we were talking earlier and I thought it would be better to ask in person,â Danielle continued to talk to the girl whose eyes were glimmering. Y/n was like water in the latterâs presence; glimmering anytime the sun appeared and warming right up for the whole day.Â
âYou should probably be listening, but her hair then her eyes, thereâs just something about her⊠Wow, Sakura would be disappointed at this behaviour.â
âUh-huh.â Y/n nodded, trying her best to snap back into listening to the girl in front of her.
âWeâre heading out on Saturday to this cafĂ© and then we thought of heading to the moviesââ
This time Y/n snapped out of it at the shift around her that made it tingle at the back of her head, the hairs on her neck standing up. As if on queue her phone started buzzing; Sakura.Â
The loud sirens that were approaching made the two girls look behind them and by the time they looked back at Y/n all that was left were a few stickers that were still being printed.Â
âThereâs a car chase, actually headed right towards the public library where you are.â
âIâm telling you Haerin knowsâHoly!â
âThey drove into the building.â
âI can tellâthe zipper of my hoodie is stuck.â
âJust leave it.â
âRight, good idea!â
The loud sound of glass breaking shook up the whole library, shrieks and panicked cries mixed in with the already loud volume of sirens and sizzling of what was a reeking car motor. Amidst the chaos and people trying to evacuate, the course of the tall bookshelves was yelling timber.
It seemed to not warn the two girls right under them quickly enough though. Danielle barely managed to make a sound from the fear, already grasping onto Haerin to try and get away from the falling shelves. However, their sense of orientation was extremely off in a moment of pure distress.
âReady, quite not steady, and go!â A squeak and a grunt were all that was heard before the numerous thuds of shelves falling like dominos followed, leaving nothing but clouds of dust in the air.
Danielle shut her eyes tightlyâunsure if she was dead or aliveâwhile hugging the firm yet somehow comforting body. The wind gushed against her skin and she felt the pull of gravity before her toes felt the ground and she opened her eyes.
âEverything alright?âÂ
She swallowed, her knees almost giving up from the intensity of the adrenaline, once again being met by the local superhero. However, her eyes fell on the black zip-up hoodie, it was so oddly familiar, that it caused her deja vu and she wondered if a book had hit her head after all. It felt like she had seen it just a second ago, the black hoodie with a few red stars stitched onto it which was half zipped up. She was too shaken up to put a finger on it though.Â
âYeah?â She said, however, she did sound quite unsure as they stood now on the second level of the library by the fire escape staircase. Her eyes trailed up the slightly taller figure, the local Spidey tilted her head in confusion and leaned her face in slightly closer.
âDid anything hit your head?â âSheâs fine, letâs go already!â Haerin impatiently complained as she was far too scared to stay any longer in the library after almost dying and then flying through the air.Â
She grabbed hold of Danielleâs arm to pull her away, but the latter stopped. âWait!â She finally came back to her senses and looked at the person who saved her.
The words were right at the tip of her tongue; wanting nothing more than to utter the words thank you. However, Haerin was too impatient as she kept on trying to drag the girl towards the exit that was being held open.
âItâs literallyââ Danielle gasped, widening her eyes at the web that was shot at her friend, quite literally gluing her mouth shut and making her stumble.
âCats donât talk. It will dissolve in an hour or so, be safe, cya later, alligatorâŠâ The hero dove right back to the first level of the library and Danielle watched with a defeated look on her face.Â
âYouâre so lameâŠOkay, but does she know? Dani is so cute thoughââÂ
âNot the printer!â
âThat was so scary.â Danielle let out a breath, finally being able to breathe properly after forgetting to do it correctly due to the shock. Those near-death situations were taking a toll on her and she had yet to thank the person who had saved her each of those times.Â
âUgh, did any get in my hair?âÂ
She looked away from the distance of the campus grounds where they were sitting on a bench to reflect on what had happened. Her eyes landed on Haerin who hadnât been pleased at all despite being saved.Â
âBut also so cool, sheâs kind of cute.â The girl mumbled as she shook her head, forgetting what Haerin had asked.
Danielleâs thoughts were swinging through her head with no direction, she was trying to connect the web, but it was quite literally impossible because she had no clue where to start. Nothing made sense.
âFirst off, nothing cool or cute with what she did to me and second; why are you so obsessed with her?â Haerin complained and angrily leaned back against the bench while taking out her phone to check if she looked fine.
âItâs like white knight syndrome or whatever itâs called.â The younger girl added and put her phone away before looking at her friend who looked right back at her with a frown.
âItâs not, she saved me, I wanted to say thank you,â Danielle argued as she didnât want anything else from the local hero. Just a small thank you.
âYeah, but whereâs Y/n?â That seemed to be a very common question.Â
She parted her lips and looked at the lock screen of her phone; a message popped up right as she did. âI just got a text from her.â It was such a normal occurrence that she learned not to be as worried whenever the girl disappeared because somehow Y/n always ended up fine when she checked back to Danielle.Â
She couldnât lie and say that she didnât get a little sombre whenever the girl just disappeared. It always made her wonder if Y/n really had emergencies or was looking for ways to escape her.
Has Danielle done something wrong? She sighed and opened the text, but despite those little worries she still smiled.
Danielle looked down at her phone, she had been preoccupied with her thoughts rather than paying the usual attention she would to her friends.
She was expecting a text from Y/n with another excuse because those werenât unusual just like her leaving. It was hard to figure out what the problem was when Y/n was more of a mystery than anything most of the time.Â
Maybe Danielle was reading too much into it?
The little bell above the door jingled, making the conversation stop for a second and Danielle looked up with hope that was nothing but crushed when it wasnât Y/n. Â
âSorry!â Y/n exclaimed, running through the busy street with people.Â
The girl glanced down at her phone, 20 minutes late, it could be worse. It had been a long and busy night, by the time she arrived at the dorm the sun was coming up and by the time she fell asleep her alarm started going off. Y/n had ignored Sakuraâs advice to cancel and stay in to sleep; she couldnât miss the opportunity to be with Danielle.Â
She fixed the backpack that was sliding off her shoulder and took the last turn, finally arriving at the door of the café. Y/n stopped for a second, looking inside to see her group of friends already there.
Her eyes stayed fixated on the girl who was the definition of a sunflower the way she always looked at the bright side of things.
Danielle looked less bright this time though.
The girl pushed the door open and made it inside, clearing her throat and gazing towards the floor at the attention it got her. However, she didnât miss how Danielle smiled towards her when her head turned.
âSorry for being late.â She apologised like she usually got to do.
âDonât worry about it, the movie starts in an hour so you have time.â Hanni was the one to speak and Y/n nodded, removing her backpack before trying as casually as possible to take a seat beside Danielle. It was like she forgot how to control her body around the girl, her whole body tingled as she took her seat and took a deep breath.Â
She watched the girl that had been late who was now sitting and drinking a second coffee. Well, Danielle was observant, at least when it came to Y/n, she somehow caught on to the small changes in her. It wasnât hard for her to tell that the girl who was sitting right beside herâtheir knees occasionally brushing, making them both freeze upâwas exhausted.Â
She felt a bit too shy to straight up ask if Y/n was fine, especially in front of the rest. The girl cared, but she was worried that it would be too obvious.
How stupid could she be? Y/n was her friend, she shouldnât feel nervous about asking simple questions, or be nervous around her at all. It wasnât how she felt around her other friends.
Yeah, Danielle liked to play coy with herself.Â
She listened in on the conversation Y/n was having with the rest all while gathering some courage to pull Y/n into a conversation just with her once they would be done. However, she would second guess herself because the girl beside her who was close to falling asleep would always avoid her or just leave with no word.Â
âIs the cake good?â It seemed to bring Danielle out of her thoughts, realising that she was overthinking once again. Y/n beat her to it and maybe the girl didnât mind her in the end. The second Y/n would talk to Danielle sheâd forget her worries and feel the jitters spark her up to talk.Â
âOh, yeahâŠDo you want some?â She asked as she looked down at the piece of cake that she had forgotten about midway because of how she lost herself.Â
Y/n nodded her head, forgetting words as she was already stuttering in her body language unsure of what to do. Was she supposed to reach for the cake?
Her eyes watched Danielle who pushed it closer and Y/n was about to reach her hand for the fork, however, the latter beat her to it. Her eyes wandered, trying to look at Danielle who was looking at her, but she only could hold eye contact for a second and not any longer.Â
âTake a bite and act coolâŠYouâre anything, but cool though.â
Y/n had a feeling she would melt from the heat running up to her ears as she let Danielle feed her. The cake was sweet, but Y/n couldnât help but think about how much sweeter the girl beside her was as she smiled at her.
âI was worried you wouldnât show up, you know?â Did that mean that Danielle liked having Y/n around? That she noticed when she wasnât present? It could be a friendly thing though, right?Â
âYouâre so bad at reading words.â
âSorry, I was up studying and missed my alarm.â Y/n lied, she couldnât tell the girl the truth. She couldnât tell her that all those times she left her without a word was because she was more than just Y/n; the girl who rode her skateboard into Danielle on the first day of college.Â
It made a shiver run across her body; maybe friends were all they should be. Y/n couldnât provide Danielle with a sun 24/7 because she would always come and go. The girl beside her deserved a sun and more, all Y/n could give was the dust she left behind her every time she disappeared.Â
âItâs fine, Iâm happy you showed up in the endââ Danielle frowned when Y/n abruptly stood up from her chair, it caught everyoneâs attention at the table.Â
âSorry! I have to take this,â she quickly excused herself, not waiting for another word as she grabbed her stuff and was already out the door.Â
Danielle felt herself deflate once more as her head started to grasp at any possible straws as to why Y/n always left her behind.Â
âThere was a robbery at a corner store, he is heading your way right now.â
âOkayâŠâ
âAre you alright?â
âDani probably deserves better than me.â
âWhy would you say that?â
âShe deserves someone who can be there for her all the time, I canât.â
âY/nââ
What was peaceful yet somewhat gloomy for Danielle only seemed to turn worse when the door to the quiet cafĂ© burst open. âEveryone get on the ground!â The sight of a man nothing more than paranoid and with a firearm was enough to cause chaos among the customers who ducked to the floor when the man pointed at them.Â
âOh no!â Hanni cried out as the four girls found themselves on the floor, trying to hide under the table and stay out of sight.Â
âShut up,â Minji warned as they had yet to have the gun pointed their way and seeing how the man was paranoid, anything could go wrong.Â
âI just bought these jeans.â The shorter girl complained.
âSpider-woman, sheâs here somewhere, I saw her!â The man exclaimed, revealing the cause of his paranoia. âI will hurt someone if she tries anything.â
âAm I the only one who finds it weird thatââ Haerin tried to say something, only to have Minji cover her mouth, shushing her the same way she had done with Hanni.
Danielle thought she would grow used to it by now, but it wasnât pleasant this time either when she was in danger. It seemed to be everywhere she went lately and each time she was more worried about Y/n than herself; what if she ran back inside? The man would fire right away, wouldnât he?
Her eyes scanned around the place, her phone was still atop the table and she tried as subtly as possible to reach for it. It seemed though that Minji was as paranoid as the man with a gun; it was quite valid, but still.
âStop it, heâs gonna see you.âÂ
âI need my phone.â
âWhat for? Weâre all about to die.â Minji argued with the girl, trying to pull her back down and under the table where they hadnât been spotted yet.Â
âOh my God, I donât wanna die.â Hanni cried.Â
âLook at what you did,â Danielle complained, trying to divert Minjiâs attention to Hanni who was about to start crying. âI need it toââ
âWhatâre you two doing!?â Both girls flinched and tried to retreat right back to cower away from the man. Haerin clicked her tongue at Hanni who was close to climbing onto her to try and hide.
âNothing good sir!â Minji squeaked out, widening her eyes as he made his way towards them.
âThrow your phones away.â He ordered them, Hanni and Minji were the first ones to slide their phones over to the man's feet.Â
âYou two, your phones.â Haerin was next when he pointed the firearm her way, but Danielle was stubborn. All she wanted to do was send a text to warn the girl who could show up any second.Â
âGive him the damn phone.â They bickered, trying to pry it away from her hold.Â
âNoo.â She whined, but it got snatched by none other than the man himself who tossed it to the side.Â
âYou.â âMe?â Minji pointed at herself when he pointed at her. âGet up.âÂ
âWell, I think I'd rather sit here andââ âI said get up!â Her arm got grabbed, her other arm slipping out of Hanniâs grasp who was still hiding behind Haerin.
âOkay, but youâre actually hurting my arm.â Minji pointed out, pointing at the hand that was gripping her arm quite tightly.Â
âAre you all making fun of me!?â The man snapped and another wave of panicked gasps and cries echoed through the cafĂ© when the firearm was pointed right at the girl; holding her at gunpoint.Â
Danielle tried to look for a rational solution to this. Where were the cops? She looked around while her friends tried to reason with the criminal. Minji looked like she was about to pass out.Â
Where was Spider-woman?
For whatever reason, she looked up with a frown and got her answer when she saw the figure through the closed ventilation. She blinked at the gesture of the hero who was signalling. Danielle got it.
âKnock knock.â The man snapped his head up at the ventilation right above him at the voice.Â
âWhoâs there, I will shoot!âÂ
âYour friendly neighbourhood spider-woman,â yet again, screams followed as the vent fell out and a gunshot followed, hitting the ceiling. Danielle quickly got up and grabbed hold of Minjiâs arm, pulling her away while the hero tackled the man right to the ground.
The four girls watched the hero who saved the day once again swing away and disappear between the buildings. As they fell into chatter about what had happened while the cops handled the rest of the situation, Danielle finally got to open her messages with Y/n. It had been a while since she left.
âHeyââ She didnât manage to even start the text and looked right back up, seeing the girl running towards them. âWhat happened?â Hanni was the first one to jump right into explaining what happened as if she hadnât cried through the whole scene.
âHow about we just watch a movie at our dorm?â Minji suggested, offering hers and Hanniâs dorm after what happened.Â
âAre you alright?â Y/n walked over to Danielle as they all started heading back to college grounds, knowing very well what had gone down in the cafĂ© the second she left. She still wanted to make sure that Dani was alright.Â
Danielle hummed and gave Y/n a smile. âYeah,â she chuckled and looked over the girlâs face who still looked just as tired. She smiled a little bigger at the genuine worry Y/nâs face held. âYouâre lucky.â She commented.
âI am?â Y/n questioned, getting another hum, watching the way Danielle gave her a nod of affirmation with it. Her breath got caught in her throat when she felt Danielleâs fingers brush against hers.Â
âHold her hand, just take it into yours like they do in moviesâŠâÂ
Y/n glanced down at the girlâs handâtheir friends not paying them any mind as they walked in front of themâthey were so close and all she wanted to do was hold Daniâs hand.Â
âYeah, itâs like you sense danger, the way you disappear when something bad is about to happen.â Y/n let out a small laugh at the words that reminded her of why she had disappeared and remembered what she had come to realise right before it.
âI think Sakura is the one who can sense it since she called.âÂ
Danielle twisted her lips, trying to keep up her smile as she glanced downâwanting to hold Y/nâs handâand Y/n put her hands in the pockets of her jeans.Â
âYou did miss Spiderwoman though.â She joked, trying to lighten up her heart which seemed to get a little dull.Â
âSoâŠSomewhere between lucky and unlucky.â Danielle smiled, shaking her head, Y/n still managed to brighten up everything for her.Â
Danielle hadnât been expecting much to come out of sitting and watching movies in Minji and Hanniâs cramped dorm. It was cosy, to say the least, but she was still too busy thinking about the girl beside her.Â
Could she even call them mixed signals?Â
Dani felt time stop for a few seconds, her heart stalled as she tensed up. She tried to move as little as possible as she was sitting on the bed with the girl whose head was now on her shoulder. It wasnât weird, she would lend her shoulder to all her friends, thatâs just how she was, but having Y/nâs head drop onto her shoulder felt different and she was aware.Â
Painfully aware.
She glanced down at the girl who was asleep, carefully moving her hand over to Y/nâs which was resting beside her leg. Danielle gently ran her fingers over the girlâs arm which was covered by a hoodie.
She smiled when she got to the girlâs hand, tracing her thumb over Y/nâs soft palm before she pulled the sleeve of the hoodie down further and took her hand into her lap; she did get to hold her hand in the end.Â
All Danielle needed to do now was just find the opportunity to talk to Y/n.
After a day that had felt dragged out attending classes, Y/n found herself away from campus. The ground under her vibrated as yet another train passed by, sitting right under the subway tracks where the old and quite abandoned skatepark was.
It had been a while since she last had time to enjoy it and mess around on her board, however during one of her classes with Dani the girl had asked her if they could spend time alone.
Of course, Y/n had concluded that a crush was all that Danielle would ever be to her and she would never become more. How could she become more if Y/n couldnât even start by giving her enough now?Â
It didnât mean that she wouldnât spend time with her, especially since just the thought of Dani made Y/n smile which was something she always needed in her world.
Who would have thought that being the local superhero could turn so gloomy at times? She loved it, but it took away a lot, especially the people around her and holding a secret this big could almost feel like a heavy burden on her shoulders.Â
She glanced at her phone, bobbing her head along to the song that played through the speakers of her headphones. The girl had arrived earlier to skate before Danielle would arrive and the latter should be there soon enough unless she had missed her train.Â
However, nothing could go as planned for Y/n when her music was interrupted by a call from Sakura.
âThere have been disruptions between the control centre and the incoming subway train after the ropes snapped on the crane causing girders to fall right atop the tracks, Y/n.â
âIs it really thatâWait, is it the train that stops near the campus?â
âExactly that one and it will fly right off the rails in a few minutes.â
âDani is on that train.â
Danielle flinched at the sudden and loud thud that made her look up from her phone, eyes widening at the familiar figure that clung onto the side of the train, staring right at her through the window.
She was confused, watching the spider crawl up and disappear and suddenly her heart rate spiked up.Â
Of course, Spider-Woman was nothing but good, but if she suddenly appeared, it could only mean that something was wrong. Not only did she appear out of nowhere, but quite literally halfway changed with a hoodie, shorts, and sneakers still on with the suit under the regular clothes.Â
How bad was it?
Danielle got her answer the second the train screeched, making her grab hold of the pole she stood beside to not fly right onto the floor at the abrupt stop. It was still rolling, trying to stop, screeching and making people fall into panicked chatter, trying to figure out what was going on.
Something made the air shake from what sounded like an explosion.Â
It all turned into those familiar gasps and distressed shouts as everyone was growing scared; Danielle included when the railway vehicle finally came to a stop but with a loud crash and suddenly the wagon was starting to tip over, tilting forward. As far as Dani was concerned the subway didnât go downhill, especially not at a steep angle like this was starting slowly to become.Â
It had stopped, but it was gradually with intervals tilting or more so falling more and more. Danielle quickly moved over to the windows, grabbing hold of another pole to try and get a peek at what was going on.Â
âThe whole crane exploded and the bridge!â
âAre you handling it? This is probably something more than just an accident.âÂ
âIâm trying to prevent the operator cab from falling off and dragging the rest of the wagons with itâpeople need to start evacuating from the back exit.â
Watching the front of the train hang in the air, supported by multiple webs that connected to the other end of the bridge, looked far from right. It wasnât right as she watched the hero shoot more strings to hold it all up.
She could barely see through the thick black clouds of smoke that were coating the air around it from the fire under it.Â
âEveryone, evacuate through the last wagon, firefighters are waiting!â That was all she caught before people started to pile up to get to the back. They were quite literally in the third wagonâthe second was out of service, the first one off the rails.Â
Danielle got bumped into as she was about to do the same, her frame being pushed the wrong way and the subway train dropped yet again, making her stumble back and onto the hard floor with a yelp. The angle would become steep any second now and she wouldnât be able to make it out at all.
Oh was she going to die such a pathetic death?
No way, she still had to talk to Y/n, may that thought be what saved her as yet another explosion followed with terrified screams.Â
âGive me a break.â She groaned in annoyance and pulled herself up on her feet, watching people running out of the wagon she was in and disappear, heading towards the end of the tail.
Clearly, not everyone could be called a hero after no one had even considered helping her up. Bitterly she was back up on her feet, holding onto whatever she could to make it easier to walk up the acute angle.Â
It wasnât too bad yet, but she felt heat run across her spine because it couldnât be good for too long. Lately, it has been anything but good, but she tried to look on the bright side, if she got out she would finally be able to talk to Y/n; she has waited a week now to gather the courage.
It wasnât good, but it could be worse, couldnât it?
Danielle ran, whatever was happening behind her didnât sound good at all and it felt like she was running on a treadmill whose incline constantly went up. Exhaustion was starting to take over and her legs burned, praying that she wouldnât slip because if she went down now, there was no going back.Â
Nope! She probably jinxed herself.
Something snappedâthe websâand it was free fall from there, right back to where she came from. She tried to grab onto something, but her feet didnât slip, however, her hands did as she missed the next pole, only touching it with her fingertips.
A shriek escaped her lips and no thoughts were left in her head, vividly aware of there being no point as nothing mattered anymore if she was falling to her death anyway.
âIncy Wincy Spider climbed up the rails!â Her body was caught and she huffed, tightly wrapping her arms around the shoulders. âDown goes the train!â Only hearing the webs shoot out before they were launched up, a loud crash followed with another explosion after them and she didnât dare to open her eyes because she couldnât tell if she was alive or dreaming after feeling a wave of heat hit her too.Â
The air around her swooshed, sirens, screams and it was all growing faint as an arm wrapped around her waist. She slowly dared to open her eyes, she was far from the ground and it made her grip tighten.Â
Dani however trusted the person who held her, trusting her not to let her fall as she hadnât let her fall with the train she saw down below; it had fallen off the tracks, going up in flames with everything else. The Spidey who was holding onto her kept humming the nursery rhyme she had tweaked earlier.
She inhaled deeply at the pull of gravity with her eyes closed, she only opened them once she felt the ground under her feet.
âYouâre all safe now.â Danielle carefully stepped back, looking around to see that she was at the top of a building. Her eyes fell back on the girl in front of her before she could disappear.
âThe door is unlocked and you can just head down.â She looked where the door was and snapped her head back at the footsteps.
There was still something she wanted to do, something she had wanted to do for a while now and sheâs simply never had the chance. Spider-woman lived a fast-paced life, but Dani was sure she could make some time for her, at least for a few minutes.
âWait!â She exclaimed and grabbed onto the girlâs wrist who had turned around to run off. It made Spidey turn back around on her heels with a hum, tilting her head at Danielle. She let go and took a breath before swallowing to make room for the words.
âThank you.â Danielle finally managed to get out and let out a breathless chuckle at the finger-guns pointed at her as the hero slowly backed up. This was it.
âOf course, Iâm your friendly neighbourhoodââ
âThank you for always looking out for me, Y/n.â Dani added and inhaled deeply, balling up her fists before she relaxed, releasing that breath she took.Â
âWhat?â
âI know youâre under the mask, Y/n,â Danielle stated, her tone firm yet she felt it all shaking up inside her.Â
The hero let out a little chuckle. âWhat if Iâm not actually under the mask? Wonât it be embarrassing for you if you are wrong?
She let out a breath, a hopeless chuckle and maybe she couldnât get Y/n to trust her.Â
âY/n, Iâve been sure about it for the past week,â the signs were all there laid out in front of her this whole time, they had been especially clear these past few weeks.
The time in the park when a phone was buzzing and stopped the second Daniâs call to Y/n ended.Â
The hoodie in the library, Y/n had the same hoodie on her before disappearing, Danielle had seen the girl wear it on multiple occasions before too. Sakura had helped her patch those stars onto it; Y/n would never shut up about it and Dani loved watching her happily boast about her roommate.
The rhymes, the âcya later alligatorâ and the lame but somehow endearing and cute actions and words she only knew Y/n for.Â
Simply the fact that Y/n always disappeared whenever crime took place. Hell, she had never seen Spider-woman and Y/n in the same room and considering how often she was with Y/n it would have happened by now.Â
The Saturday after what happened at the cafĂ© when they went to watch movies at their friends' dorm. That was the night her suspicions got confirmed when she saw the suit peek out from Y/nâs hoodie, making Danielle cover it for her so no one else would see.Â
Everything was in front of her now as the Spider-woman was wearing Y/nâs clothes over the suit.Â
Dani watched the way Spider-woman, Y/n, slumped her shoulders and looked down.Â
âDaniââ Y/n tried, but was cut off by the latter.Â
She was feeling vulnerable, everything she had tried to prevent from happening was happening. Y/n was supposed to leave Danielle behind, but now she knew about her biggest secret. She was letting her into parts of her life she hadnât let anyone else into except her roommate.Â
âI just wish you trusted me the same way I trust you and wouldnât put a distance between us.â She let out, jutting out her lower lip as she frowned, her deep breaths mixing with the wind that howled in her ears.Â
âI donât put a distance between us, Dani.â Y/n tried to argue, but she knew very well how many miles she had put between them. From the secrets to the lies, all the way to all the things she had done to try and avoid letting Danielle in too close. She couldnât do it to the girl, she couldnât let her into a place she would never stay in because Y/n would always come and go.
That was her life as the friendly neighbourhood Spider-woman.
âBut you do and I donât understand whyâŠYou wonât even take off your mask!â She raised her voice in desperation as she refused to let Y/n close the door on her.
Dani never cared about Y/n staying, all she cared about was being let inside so Y/n would have someone to come back to once she did. She had come to the realisationâafter figuring out the girlâs secret identityâthat Y/n would always leave, but sheâd also always come back.
If only she had let Danielle know why she always left in the first place then they wouldnât be in this position.
Y/n huffed and pulled the mask off of her face, using her sleeve to wipe away the tears that had formed from the intensity of the moment as so much had just happened.
All she could do now was make Danielle understand just why she put a distance between them; explain why she distanced herself from most people. How her life was miserable without the people closest to her, but how she still couldnât be as close as she wanted with them.Â
How Dani deserved way better than her.
Y/n bunched up the mask in her fist, she loved it, she loved it all, but she hated so many parts of it. She hated that to save the lives of people, she had to hurt the people she loved the most by disappointing them.Â
âYou know it's like when my spidey senses are tingling but the difference is that you cause more than a micro shift when you step in a room and it causes my whole body to tingle.â Y/n at last confessed, the words bursting out of her as she threw her arms up. It made her pace back and forth at the frustrations of having so much to give, but not being able to.Â
âI feel so hopeless because youâre the sunshine, a sunflower always looking towards the bright and I try to do that but my world isn't as bright.â She continued, refusing to look at Danielle as she stopped and glared down at the roof under her feet.
Y/nâs body deflated like a balloon, feeling all those pent-up emotions of anger disappear and the sadness of the situation wash over her instead.
âItâs full of danger, itâs full of uncertainty about tomorrow, it can turn gloomy on the brightest days, itâs a burden I love and hate carrying. It isnât something you deserve, something anyone close to me deserves.â Y/n sighed and all she felt like doing was crying as she knew that it was over from here.
âI will never be able to just be there, I will always appear and disappear.â
Danielle would understand the reality of Y/nâs life and leave her behind before Y/n could do it; not like she would be able to do it, but the sunflower would turn away from the sun that never stayed, and find one that would always be there.Â
âDani, you deserve better than me.â Y/n widened her eyes and looked up in panic. âOh my god do you even like me like that!?â It would be embarrassing if she had just assumed that Danielle wanted to be more than friends. Even if they would only be friends, Y/n still needed her to understand why the distance was needed. Â
Danielle chuckled, watching the girl who almost jumped at the sheer panic. She heard every word Y/n told her and instead of them pushing her away, they made her want to step so much closer to her. It made her realise how much Y/n needed someone and she wanted to be that someone simply because it was Y/n.Â
âYou donât even realise what youâre saying.â The girl stated as she made it in front of Y/n and grabbed hold of her hands. Dani looked down at the mask clutched in the gloved hand, the mask of far more responsibility than one person could carry alone.Â
âWhat?â Y/n looked at the girl who she viewed as a sunflower, feeling the warmth swallow her ears when Danielle looked up and met her eyes.
Under the sun, her eyes glimmered, with the wind her curls gently moved and with the smile that plastered itself on her lips Y/nâs whole world lit up and it always made everything feel easier.Â
âA sunflower?â Danielle questioned with a breathless chuckle, her thumbs caressing Y/nâs hands.Â
âYesâŠâ She mumbled, glancing away as she was worried that Dani would find the comparison stupid.Â
âI look towards the bright, I look at you and get warm, feel a smile form, Y/n. Why on earth would I ever not like you back? If Iâm a sunflower then youâre the sun I turn towards.â
Yeah, Danielleâs whole body was fuzzy and maybe her fingers would tremble from the nerves if she didnât hold onto Y/n, but she dwelled on the feeling as she watched Y/n with a fond smile. The girl simply made her feel warm and bright just by being there.Â
It made her burdens disappear, she only wanted Y/n to feel the same way.Â
âYouâre exactly what I deserve and want and you deserve to have someone there for you too. I canât let you carry it all alone. So what if you leave? So does the sun in the sky.â She glanced towards the said sun with her eyes squinted, tightening her grip on Y/n.
Danielle was ready to risk it all for Y/n because she was all that she wanted. It was scary, she had to admit that it was, Y/n was right, tomorrow was unknown and it was terrifying but she knew what she wanted at the moment and that was where she lived, only worrying about what was now. She could worry about the unknown future when it would come.Â
âYou deserve someone who will be there when you come back and I want to be that home for you, Y/n.âÂ
Y/n had no words; she hadnât been expecting things to turn out this way at all. She had expected Danielle to leave her, to be a sun with nothing to warm up.
Her ears were muffled, her face felt hot, her heart beat up in her ears and she could feel those tingles running all over her body again, feeling the shift in her that the girl in front of her always caused.
Suddenly she felt like the bee that was drawn to the sunflower because the warmth it gathered had been just what Y/n needed without realising. Luckily she had Dani to realise it for her.Â
The girl huffed when Y/n crashed into her, hugging her close. Danielle wrapped her arms around Y/nâs waist, resting her cheek against the taller girlâs shoulder.
The loud thumping of Y/nâs heart matched hers and she smiled, closing her eyes as she could remember how it sounded the same that day in the park. They were tangled up together, but tangled together in webs of love with their hearts.Â
âThank you, Dani.â She mumbled.Â
The girl was everything that she had imagined and so much more as she turned out to be something that Y/n also needed. Most importantly, Y/nânot spider-womanâbut Y/n was someone that was needed beyond her secret identity, someone who Danielle wanted and needed there.Â
âIâm always here.â She reassured Y/n as they pulled back, she bit her lower lip at the blush on Y/nâs cheeks who exhaled deeply before looking at her seriously. However, Daniâs silly superhero couldnât keep her composure as she covered her face with her gloved hands, letting out an almost inaudible squeal.
âItâs official then!â Danielle hummed, tilting her head and Y/n peeked out from between her fingers.Â
âYouâre my girlfriend.âÂ
âOh? Just like that?â She questioned with a laugh at the statement, seeing that she hadnât been left with another choice as Y/n finally showed her flushed face with that big smile.Â
âYes, itâs not even up for discussionââ Y/n firmly stated as she put the mask back on, stepping back she pointed at Danielle with finger guns once again. âI will go and figure out whatever it was that happened and meet you at the dorms.âÂ
She giggled, nodding at Y/n words, watching the girl who was turning around, but she stopped just as she was going to run off.Â
âWait, wait, can we justâwhat ifâŠâ Y/n stuttered, turning back around on her heels, she cleared her throat and rubbed at the back of her neck. âWe kiss.â She tried to suggest as casually as possible with a shrug, letting her hand fall.Â
âIf you want to.âÂ
âYes, I'd love to.âÂ
Danielle shook her head as Y/n didnât move from her spot, so she took it upon herself after seeing the girl glued to her spot. She looked up at Y/n who hadnât even started to lift the mask.
âYouâre such a goof,â Dani stated and reached up, pulling Y/nâs mask up above her nose before cupping her face and leaning in as she stood on her toes, finally feeling Y/n move and hold onto her waist.
âOh my, about to faint, Dani is going to kiss you, youâre about to kissâ!!!!!!!!!!!â

Things that happen within the first few hours of AC6:
1. You get shot with a huge-ass laser mid-atmosphere entry. You barely survive this, landing several miles away from your intended landing zone. Welcome to Rubicon 3.
2. You have a mech built with bargain bin parts, barely held together with hope and spite. It has a energy sword though, so thatâs nice.
3. Not even two seconds after your, very rough, landing, you get a call from your âHandlerâ. He is ostensibly in charge of your well-being. This begins and ends with him sending you off on missions heâs fairly certain youâll survive and charges you for the damage you get to your mech, the bullets you use, and heâs also cut out a piece of your brain to put in augmentations that will make you a slightly better mech pilot. In the top Most Horrible People On This Planet contest, he wouldnât make it to the top 10.
4. You make your way through a derelict hunk of junk thatâs threatening to collapse on top of you. Not even two minutes into this journey, youâre getting shot at with missiles.Â
5. You finally reach your intended destination, a burning husk of a city filled with scavengers and low lives who will shoot you on sight. You are here to grave rob.
6. The reason you are grave robbing is connected to the fact you got shot in orbit, you are here illegally, and you need to find a license from any fresh corpse so you can steal the identity on it and be able to do mercenary work.
7. You go through four corpses before you find one with a license that can pass muster.
8. Mid corpse robbing a gunship sent by The Space Police spots you and you have to shot it down so it canât kill you or, even worse, stop you from stealing the identity you just found.Â
9. As soon as you get registered in the Mercenary Rolodex, which takes less then a second of an A.I taking a look and saying âalright checks outâ, you have two missions. One of them has you killing a bunch of resistance fighters from the planetâs native population on behalf of a weapons company that really wants to do business here. 10. The next mission has you going to a base owned by that very same company and blowing up everything you can find there. This does not anger that company one bit, if anything it just convinces them you are a very thorough worker. 11. Very shortly after that, you are tasked with destroying a prototype mech by another company before it can get into mass production. That mech is being piloted by what can only be described as an Anime Protag who is in the worst possible franchise for his type of character. You can murder him in less then two minutes if you know what youâre doing. You can hear him desperately fight for his life the entire time. 12. After that, before you even get to clean the blood and oil and broken dreams off your robot, you get a call from a merc group leader saying that heâs seen you murder that guy real good, a guy who was auditioning to join his group, and likes the cut of your jib. He gives you the callsign he was gonna give Anime Protag before you blew him the fuck up. He laughs and tells you to be careful since itâs an unlucky number. This is the least morally repugnant thing youâll do all game. Â
13. A while after that, you go into a power plant and destroy the generator, it promptly blasts you in the face with the red radioactive Super Fuel that toasted this planet a few years back.
14. You survive, somehow, and you get a disembodied voice of some girl in your ear. You tell your handler about this and he just shrugs it off with âoh yeah thatâs probably a symptom of the lobotomy, donât worry about itâ. The voice is probably the most moral person on this fire blasted hell scape of a planet.

Sorry to Meet You
Carlisle Cullen x Reader
Summary: The moral dilemma of the patriarch of the Cullen clan finally meeting his mate after 350 years.Â
Warnings: Angst, death, blood, accident, surgery, not betaâd, turning, grief
Word Count: 5.8k (sorry, I got a little carried away and Iâm getting used to writing one shots again)
Masterlist
I rounded the corner within the halls of my fatherâs hospital, heading towards his oh so familiar office. I Â had spent a good portion of my childhood playing in the office halls of the hospital so as to not get in the way of an emergency. Every take your child to work day, every early dismissal, random day off from school, and every weekend he had to work and couldnât find someone to watch me, he brought me here up until I was about 12.
Now I was in college, studying biology as a pre-med student at Johns Hopkins University. But today I was returning to Forks for my summer vacation in between my freshman and sophomore year. He was supposed to pick me up from the airport tomorrow but I had wanted to surprise him at work so I left a day early.
Reaching the door to his office, I entered. Embarrassingly, I had been so eager I hadnât even checked if he was busy. As the door swung open I was met with the golden hair and eyes of the most gorgeous man I had ever seen. Given his youth I assumed he was a student or a resident but one look at his badge told me he was an attending.
âY/N? What are you doing here?â my fatherâs voice broke me from my trance.
âHi!â I smiled at my father, ripping myself from the mystery manâs enchanting gaze. âI wanted to surprise you,â I explained, returning his hug. âI was so excited I didnât even consider that you were busy. Sorry,â I apologized to both men.
âDonât be,â the blond said in an almost melodic voice. âTrust me I understand the importance of family.â
âYeah Dr. Cullenâs kids are here all the time,â my father laughed.
âThis guy has kids?â I thought. âPlural? He looks no older than 25.â
Seemingly reading the confusion on my face he explained. âAdopted kids. My sister and I were foster kids so we always agreed weâd adopt as many as possible. So far weâve adopted five teenagers, hoping to give them a new shot at life.â
âWow,â was all I said, unsure of how to react. âWell this guy was definitely out,â I noted to myself. âNot only is he your fatherâs colleague, he had five teenagers.â âWell I should let you get back to it,â I said shyly, already backing out of my fatherâs office, embarrassed. âIâll be at the house and weâll get dinner after?â I suggested to my father.
âSounds good. See you later sweetie,â he called after me.
~
Carlisle tried his hardest to focus on Dr. L/Nâs words but he couldnât, he was so focused on his colleagueâs daughter. When she entered the office he had sucked in a breath he didnât need. He had heard that some mate connections hit you like a brick but he hadnât seen it with anyone except presumably between Rosalie and Emmett when she demanded he save him.
So as soon as he was done with his meeting he hopped into his Mercedes and headed towards Dr. L/Nâs house. Once he reached it he found no cars in the driveway or any indication that there had been a car there recently, only wet footprints leading up to the porch and inside the door, presumably from Y/N getting out of a cab.
Continuing past the house he parked about half a mile away before running back to the house, a feat that only took him a couple seconds.
Taking a page from Edwardâs book he began creeping along the side of the house, trying to spot Y/N through a window. But when he couldnât find her he was forced to climb up some trees until he found her in what was presumably her bedroom, unpacking a suitcase full of clothes.
He watched, admiring the girl as she sorted through the clothes, tossing some in the laundry bin and others in piles to be sorted in the closet. He realized that he could watch her all day, admiring the quirks of her expression as she reacted to different situations. He hadnât understood the other Cullensâ obsessions with each other until now.
He continued to watch for hours. His eyes sometimes drifting to the delicate curves of her body but always scolding himself for thinking of her like that given that she didnât even really know him. But a small part of his mind whispered that sheâd be his one day.
He only left when he heard her fatherâs car approaching, swearing to come back to learn more about her so he could strike up a conversation about her favorite things the next time they âaccidentallyâ ran into each other.
~
The next time I visited the hospital wasnât just to visit my father, it was because I had managed to slip in a puddle, earning myself a gash on the forehead.
I was sat in the waiting room going on two hours with a blood soaked rag pressed to my forehead. I truly didnât mind waiting seeing as I knew there were far more injured people getting treated. But as I continued to wait I started to get more and more light headed. I began to make my way to the desk in hopes they could give me some answers when I got a head rush, stumbling into a very cold, hard chest.
âY/N?â I heard the melodic voice again. This time dripping with concern. âWhat happened?â
âOh nothing,â I dismissed, reluctantly pulling away from the grasp he had on my arms. âJust slipped in a puddle and my head kind of ate it,â I chuckled.
âHow long have you been here?â he asked, more concern ebbing into his voice.
âI donât know about two hours?â I shrugged, trying to not make a big deal of it. âPlease donât tell my dad, heâll just get all concerned and angry and wonder why I wasnât immediately treated.â
Inside, Carlisle was already feeling all those things I just described. âWell you shouldnât have to sit there for two hours, bleeding out of your head. You shouldâve been brought for a CT. Câmon, canât have Dr. L/Nâs daughter bleeding out in the waiting room.â
I smiled shyly as I felt his strong, cold hand be gently placed on my lower back as he guided me towards an exam room.
~
All throughout the exam Carlisle had to hold his breath. He has excellent control, itâs what many believe to be his special ability and it allows him to do what he loves but Y/Nâs blood? The faintest smell alone made venom flood his mouth. And the blood soaked rag along with the fact that he had to bandage up her forehead didnât help.
âOkay, that should do it,â he smiled, thankfully pulling back from his mate as he finished taping a bandage onto her head. âYouâll have to keep it bandaged for a couple days but your father should be able to help with that. And you most likely wonât scar.â
She breathed a sigh of relief. âThanks Dr. Cullen. I owe you one.â
He shook his head, breathing a laugh as he looked down at the girlâs chart. âPlease, Iâm happy to do it. And you can call me Carlisle.â
âCarlisle,â she repeated, nearly melting the vampire right there, âthatâs an interesting name, never heard it.â
âWell my parents were a bit old fashioned,â he explained. âSo your father tells me you finished your first year at Johns Hopkins? Thatâs very impressive.â
He admired her blush as she looked down at the ground. âThanks. I think I was the only one of my graduating class to go out of state.â
âYeah, Iâve figured out Forks is a very small town. Not many people leave,â he chuckled. âDo you know what you want to study?â
âUm Iâve always kind of wanted to be a surgeon. I know itâs the most difficult specialty but I enjoy the precision of it,â she shrugged.
Carlisle felt a sense of disappointment at the news that his mate wanted to be a surgeon. Being a doctor was hard enough as a vampire but having to literally cut people open? Even he didnât think heâd be able to focus surrounded by so much blood. He was already dreading having to tell her that she couldnât be a surgeon after she turned, not at least for decades while she learned control. He was suddenly snapped from his fantasies realizing that this human barely knew him and practically everything he knew about her came from his lurking outside her windows.
Dragging himself out of his thoughts which had no doubt created a long, awkward pause he spoke again. âYes, well if you made it to Johns Hopkins then Iâm sure you can do it.â
âThanks Doc- Carlisle,â Y/N corrected before standing up off the table and heading for the door.
As she exited, taking most of her intoxicating scent with her, Carlisle sucked in a breath he didnât need. As much as he hated watching his mate leave he needed a break from her blood. No one had tempted him the way Y/N L/N had, even when he was a starving newborn. And he realized that he would have to figure out a way to get close to her and get her to love him before he even told her about the mate bond. A difficult feat considering her fatherâs place as his colleague.
~
When Carlisle got home that evening he immediately went to his room, tipping off the family that something was different.
As he collapsed backwards onto his sofa he let his mind wander to his mate. He could picture her face so clearly, and more frighteningly he could still imagine the smell of her blood with eerie accuracy. He imagined all his future endeavors to keep her safe as a human. Heâd watch over her, always be within reach to step in when she needed. He pictured their love story. Itâd be slow and start with glances and fleeting touches until he invited her out to dinner once she became more comfortable with him. Heâd kiss her goodnight on the porch and then make sure she got into the safety of her home before leaving. Their relationship would develop from there with more dates, with Y/Nâs fatherâs approval of course. And when she uttered the words âI love you,â heâd tell her about him and his species because he knew he had earned her love. And as much as he didnât want to damn her to a life of hiding and being a monster, he couldnât help but imagine her turning. Heâd gently bite into the soft flesh of her throat, injecting his venom into her veins, cementing her as his forever. But the thought of hurting her and turning her into a monster made him hesitate.
As Carlisle continued to immerse himself in his fantasies, his sister entered. âCarlisle?â Esme called softly. âAre you okay?â
âYeah,â he agreed, sitting up. He wasnât sure whether or not to tell his family that he had met him mate, considering they were already dealing with the human mate to Edward, Bella, who they had just moved back to Forks for. Of course no secrets stayed secrets for long thanks to Edward and Aliceâs gifts. Edward could be counted on for discretion but Aliceâs overeager nature wouldnât allow that. He was surprised that Alice hadnât already planned a party but maybe she hadnât seen his mate in her visions yet. He had also wanted to keep her his own little secret for a while but clearly that wouldnât be happening so he relented. âI- uh met my true mate.â
Esmeâs eyes widened as she gasped. Of course living in a house full of vampires everyone heard and immediately began rushing in.
âYou met your mate!â Alice practically screamed, nearly knocking over Esme.
âWhatâs she like?â Emmett asked with a grin. âOr he?â he added hesitantly.
âItâs a she,â Carlisle confirmed. âItâs very new. She doesnât even really know anything about me and everything I know about her comes from lurking outside her window,â he groaned in embarrassment.
âWell that worked with Bella,â Jasper laughed.
Edward shot his brother a glare before looking back at his adoptive father. âJust find an excuse to be around her, ask her on a date.â
âThatâs the thing, sheâs 19-â
âYouâre physically 23,â Alice cut in.
âHer father is my coworker,â he elaborated. âBesides they think Iâm 31 at the hospital. And she just finished her first year pre-med.â
âSo youâll see her around the hospital!â Alice insisted, still trying to convince her adoptive father that everything would be fine. âSuggest that she comes to the hospital more to observe or do an internship! Then you can get to know her and ask her on a date.â
âThatâs not actually the worst plan,â Edward admitted.
Carlisle thought for a second. That could actually work, heâd just have to figure out how to bring it up to her and her father naturally.
âSo whatâs she like?â Rosalie asked suddenly.
If vampires could blush Carlisle would be bright red. âWell um she has H/L, (hair length) H/T, (type) H/C (color) hair. She actually looks a lot like her father, Dr. L/N. She goes to Johns Hopkins. Look can everyone just go back to what they were doing?â
âBut we want to meet her,â Alice practically whined.
In his frustration with everything Carlisle blurted out, âYou may not even get to meet her.â
That dampened the mood. âWhat?â Esme asked softly.
âNothing is decided yet but sheâs human. Weâre already dealing with Bella, the Volturi are already keeping their eyes on us, and I donât want to doom her to this life if I donât have to.â
âBut this is your mate,â Alice insisted. âYouâve been alone for 350 years!â
âHe has a point,â Rosalie cut in. âWe canât afford to have another human know about us especially with the Volturi sniffing around us. And we shouldnât be turning people unless theyâre actively dying.â
âBut sheâs his true mate!â Alice maintained, practically stamping her foot on the ground. âHe canât just turn his back on her.â
âLook nothing is decided,â Carlisle tried to calm Alice down. âI have to be back at work in a few hours and I need to hunt so if youâd all please let me be.â
Everyone shuffled out of the room reluctantly except for Edward. âIt will break your heart to let that girl go.â
Carlisle paused. He knew that, the idea of letting her go live her life and potentially fall in love with someone else broke his heart. âI know,â he admitted. âBut the thought of having to hurt her and make her like this hurts just as much.â
âSo love her for the duration of her mortal life.â
âJust to watch her age, live in pain, and die? I couldnât handle that.â
âBut youâre doing it for her,â Edward pointed out.
âBut if Iâm doing it for her shouldnât I just let her go live a normal life?â
Edward shrugged. âI donât know the right answer here just that no matter what you choose itâll kill you in some way. Thatâs the unfortunate truth about loving a human.â
~
A few weeks went by and Y/N became a routine part of Carlisleâs day. Heâd usually see her at the hospital, working as a secretary. (A job she acquired even without Carlisleâs suggestion.) Because of that he had gained a reputation for hanging around the nurses station, flirting with Y/N. Not only did he learn about her through actually talking to her, he would make frequent trips to her house to watch her through the windows, even occasionally going into her room, which he felt wrong about but being surrounded by her scent dismissed any doubt from his mind.
âY/N,â he greeted like he did every morning, bringing her a coffee.
âYou must be spending a fortune on coffee,â she commented, taking the cup. She had protested several times, insisting that she pay him back but he refused every time so she just began to accept it.
âItâs nothing,â he dismissed. âBut if it was itâd be worth it,â he flirted, earning a blush from the girl. Carlisle had learned a lot about flirting in these few weeks. At first it was a bit clumsy but he picked it up fairly easily with a little coaching from Rosalie and Emmett.
âYeah well you wonât have to spend like $4.50 everyday for much longer, one of my professors is starting a research project a month before the semester begins and he invited me as a fellow,â she explained, a glimmer of disappointment behind her bright, casual expression.
If Carlisleâs heart wasnât already frozen it wouldâve stopped beating. He tried his best to hide his shock and disappointment. âOh, well congratulations. Getting invited to stuff like this is really good for med school applications.â
âYeah, and I like being here but it was too good of an opportunity to pass up, yâknow? Plus itâll be nice to see the sun again,â she awkwardly laughed, sensing the doctorâs unease.
âYeah, um well I have to go get some labs. Congratulations, Iâll see you around,â he rushed out with a forced smile. He didnât stay long enough to hear her response, rushing out of the room as fast as possible without being suspicious.
He couldnât think straight. He of course had thought about her just leaving but now that it was actually happening, as well as happening sooner than expected, he didnât know how to deal with it.
~
Carlisle had no clue what to do when it came to his mate leaving. He couldnât stop her, that wasnât fair to Y/N, so instead he kept his distance. Which was easy considering that he could smell her from a mile away. Until one day at the hospital when the scent of her blood was particularly strong.
â19 year old female, car crash. Resuscitated once in the field, three times en route,â the panicked voice of the paramedic echoed through Carlisleâs sensitive ears. He rushed into the ER, spotting her through the window of the trauma room. He mostly recognized her through her scent but would know that H/T, H/C hair and S/T skin through purple and blue bruises from a million miles away. But the next words from her attending doctor only confirmed the worst. âPage Dr. L/N, itâs Y/N!â
It felt like Carlisle had been sucker punched in the gut. It took everything in him not to stagger back and let out a dry sob right there in the ER. When her heart monitor flatlined he wanted to slaughter every person in that room in his grief. It was ridiculous, 350 years of self control would be gone just because of a girl. But not just any girl, his girl.
When they finally got Y/Nâs heartbeat back they wheeled her up to surgery, just as Dr. L/N entered the ER. âWhereâs Y/N? Whereâs my daughter?â he demanded, trying to launch himself at the ER desk.
âD/N, D/N,â Carlisle tried to calm the distraught father. He had to physically hold the man back with vampire strength. Fortunately the ER was too chaotic for anyone to notice. âThey took her up to surgery, sheâll be fine.â
âSurgery? Oh god,â the man began to cry. âBut thatâs my baby, sheâs all I have.â With those words Carlisle began to feel guilty. Just a few weeks ago a part of him had been so ready to basically just kidnap this poor manâs daughter and completely shatter his world without a thought. âOh god, surgery here is a death sentence.â
Carlisle began to protest before really thinking about it. Forks Hospital was small, their surgical staff consisted of two surgeons and whatever nurses that had completed the surgical nurse program. No one came her for surgery, they all went to Port Angeles and their non-emergent traumas went there too. The only people who came here were on the brink of death and unfortunately the two surgeons here werenât exactly outstanding in their field. They were good enough but nothing remarkable and they usually lost their patients due to the circumstances.
~
Carlisle tried to carry on his day as if the love of his life wasnât dying in a surgical suite right now. But the ordinarily smooth, confident doctor was distracted and constantly messing up. Until finally his shift was over and he went up to his mateâs room. He had orchestrated the nursesâ charts so sheâd be placed in a secluded room should Carlisle need to intervene to prolong her life.
When he entered the room he was met with the most heartbreaking sight. Y/N was laid on the bed, an intubation tube sticking out of her throat. Her entire face was black and blue, some bones in her face looked like they had been broken. She hardly looked recognizable. On the only chair in the room sat her father looking like a worried mess. âOh, hey Carlisle,â Dr. L/N said dejectedly.
âIâm so sorry, D/N.â
The man shrugged. âSheâs tough. She managed to claw her way out of this place. Sheâll survive this.â
âI hope so,â Carlisle agreed, staring longingly at his mate.
He didnât want to arouse too much suspicion from Y/Nâs father so he reluctantly went home to change and hunt.
After his quick hunt he re-entered his home finding Alice. âCarlisle, Iâm so sorry,â she said softly. He wasnât sure what to say to that but fortunately he didnât have to come up with anything because she spoke again. âBut you have to stay with her at the hospital if you want any shot at survival.â By now Edward had joined them.
âWhat?â Carlisle asked.
âShe wonât survive this. Youâre a doctor, you have to know that. So youâll have to change her.â
Carlisle would be lying if he said he hadnât thought of the scenario where Y/N was severely injured and he needed to change her. He looked up at his oldest son. âThereâs nothing wrong about saving her life if sheâs already dying.â
Not wanting to waste another second Carlisle sped off. He almost ran to the hospital but realized at the last second he should take the car. So he floored it, doing 150mph practically the whole way there. And finally parking in the back so heâd be able to bring her home unseen.
When he got to the hospital his ears were bombarded with thousands of sounds, something he was now used to, but because of his experience he was able to tune into his mateâs heart monitor while he got his plan ready.
Heading to the morgue he found a body that was a similar build and coloring to Y/N. Carlisle was by no means squeamish but it felt weird to break her bones and watch bruises form over her skin until her face was unrecognizable. He then scraped up as many ashes as possible to make it look like someone had cremated her so no one would go looking for her body. Setting the body aside he headed back upstairs finding Dr. L/N slumped over in a chair.
Carlisle hesitantly shook the older man awake. âHey,â he said softly, willing the man to take his suggestion. âYou should go home and rest. Get changed. Iâll watch over her.â The man hesitated, still staring at his fragile daughter. âShe'll be fine, Iâll call you if anything happens.â
He reluctantly agreed before heading out, making Carlisle promise to call him even if her heart rate changed by two points.
Carlisle sat for a while, waiting for the hospital to calm down a bit before enacting his plan. First he went to the nurses station while no one was there, turning off the monitors that connected to his mateâs room. He then went back downstairs, using his hearing and sense of smell to bring the body up without being detected. Finally it was time to turn his mate. He stood over her bedside, observing her mortality for the final time. Through the black and blue of her face he admired her beauty, reminiscing the unique, flawed beauty of mortals.
This would be the most difficult transformation of his life. He was more nervous than when he had turned his sister who was his first turn. Y/Nâs blood smelled so sweet he wasnât sure heâd be able to pull away. He took a deep breath through his mouth before lowering his head to her throat, biting quickly. It took everything in him to pull away. He had never killed a human but he had tasted blood when he turned them and Y/Nâs was like nothing he had ever tasted before. He knew he had to hold on long enough for the venom to inject into her bloodstream which made it even harder to pull away but he did it.
When he pulled back he could see blood seeping from her puncture wounds telling him he didnât kill her. He quickly began disconnecting her from the machines before the venom could wreak havoc on her system. He then swapped her body for the one from the morgue, connecting the machines once again. Running down to the car he placed her unconscious figure in the backseat before going upstairs to reconnect the nurses station, alerting them that Y/N L/N was dying.
But by the time they reached her room with a crash cart Carlisle was already escaping with his prize in the back seat.
~
It took three agonizing days for Y/Nâs transformation. Carlisle spent every moment he could at her side. He had to go to the hospital in order to not arouse suspicion where he unfortunately had to deal with her grieving father. He had called him on the way home to tell that he had gone to the bathroom and when he got back she was coding. But it didnât seem to make anything easier for Dr. L/N as the man tried to tackle Carlisle when he walked into work. Fortunately for his secret a nurse stopped him. âYou left her!â he screamed. âI lost my baby. I didnât get to say goodbye because of you!â
At first Carlisle had been elated to finally have his mate (among other conflicting feelings) but now he was confronting the grief he had created. He realized that even if she was going to die anyway, if he hadnât intervened her father wouldâve gotten to say his final goodbye.
Meanwhile at home Y/N was laid on the soft couch in his room. She had spent the first two days sleeping fairly peacefully to the point that Carlisle was afraid he had killed her but her slowing heartbeat was assurance that she was okay. The third day was the hardest, he learned from Jasper that he could feel her pain. He was at work when the pain started and Alice had called him since she would be awake soon and Carlisle had wanted to be the one with her when she woke up.
Carlisle had been sitting by her side for a few hours, admiring her now clear skin, pure from all the bruises and broken bones she had received. In his own cold, stone hand, he now felt the same in her hand, all the warmth having been drained from it now as he played with her fingers adoringly.
~
Even before I opened my eyes I could hear so clearly. I could hear the rustle of clothing, the sound of skin rubbing skin as I realized a cold hand was playing with my fingers. As I became more aware I realized that my throat felt so dry it felt like it was burning.
Peeling my eyes open I was met with what seemed like the brightest object in the universe. I was half convinced I was staring directly into the sun except I could heat the hum of electric lighting.
âIs it too bright?â a voiceâ Carlisleâs voice asked.
Turning my head I met his warm, golden expression. When I nodded in agreement he ran towards the switch faster than I had ever seen anything move. Weird, but maybe I was just really groggy, but strangely I didnât feel groggy, I felt more alive than I ever had.
Carlisleâs face reappeared in my field of vision, I could now more clearly see the flawlessness of his skin and the flecks of gold in his irises. Unbeknownst to me he was was also now observing the smoothness of my skin and the deep red hue of my eyes. Something about him felt safe and warm, like I never wanted to leave his side again. âCarlisle?â was all I could think of to say.
His adoring smile widened when I said his name. âHey, Y/N. How are you feeling?â
âGoodâŠâ I answered hesitantly. I felt better than I ever had but his question made me think I shouldnât feel good.
âThatâs good. The transformation can be rougher for some people,â he explained, pulling away slightly to allow me room to sit up.
As I pushed myself up I moved so fast the couch slid to the side. My eyes widened, realizing what happened. âWhatâs going on? What transformation?â
He took my hands in his, now kneeling on the ground in front of me. âThis is going to be strange and you wonât believe me but bear with me, okay?â he asked, looking up at me. One look in his eyes and I was melting so I just nodded, allowing him to explain. âIâm⊠a vampire. And I made you one too.â Laughs began to wrack my body, this had to be a joke. But one look at the grave sincerity on his face told me he wasnât joking. âItâs true. Itâs why when you sat up the couch moved. Why youâre probably really overwhelmed with all the sound, smells, lights, and feelings. Vampires are the most dangerous predators. We have better senses, are faster, and stronger than anything else.â Seeing my lost expression he rushed out the next words. âI know itâs a lot and Iâm sorry I did this to you.â
âWhy did you do this to me?â
âHow much do you remember?â
âThe last thing I remember is driv-â I suddenly realized what mustâve happened. âI was in an accident wasnât I?â
Carlisle nodded his head regretfully. âYou werenât going to make it. Thatâs why I turned you. I didnât want to do it. I was going to let you live your life as a human whether that be with me or with someone else but I couldnât just let you die.â
âSo what? You just turn every dying patient in the hospital?â I asked, trying to wrap my head around his words.
He shook his head no. âYouâre the first Iâve turned in nearly 70 years. I couldnât let you die because⊠well you see-â Carlisle was struggling with the best word choice to keep from scaring his mate off. âWeâre mates⊠I knew the instant I saw you. Humans canât feel it as strongly and itâs rare to meet your true mate but thatâs what we are.â I didnât know how to react, I didnât even know exactly what I was feeling. âYou donât have to stay, you certainly donât have to accept our bond but I thought you should know about it. Before you got hurt I was planning to hopefully be worthy of your love the old-fashioned way but given the circumstancesâŠâ
Before I could say anything the door swung open, revealing three more vampires. One had blonde curls, another with a brunette, short pixie, and the third had caramel hair and had a strong resemblance to Carlisle. âHi, Iâm Alice!â the bubbly brunette introduced.
âUm, girls-â Carlisle attempted to dismiss them so as to not overwhelm his mate.
âSheâs probably thirsty,â the blonde insisted. Everyone looked over at me expectantly. Remembering the burning in my throat I nodded. Alice approached, opening a cup allowing the most appetizing scent to permeate through the air. I took it eagerly, frowning when I looked into the cup to find a thick, red liquid. Blood.
âIt takes a bit of getting used to,â the caramel-haired one empathized.
âTrust me, youâll like it,â Alice encouraged.
I gingerly brought it to my lips. The more I could smell it the thirstier I got so I downed the drink. The second the blood touched my lips I couldnât get enough as I began to down the drink. Once it was all gone Carlisle gently brought the cup from my hands. âCâmon, you should meet the others,â he said, gently taking my hand in his. He led me out of his room, the three women following us into what looked like a very modern living room where there were three men waiting for us. âY/N, these are my adoptive kids,â Carlisle explained as the blonde and Alice went to stand with their⊠brothers? âThatâs Alice and Jasper, Emmett and Rosalie,â he pointed out the couples, âEdward, and my sister, Esme.â
~
The Cullen clan welcomed Y/N with open arms, including Bella when she eventually met the new vampire. It took a day or two of warming up but soon enough Carlisle and Y/N began to behave just like other mates. They were constantly together, and the rest of the Cullen clan were happy to finally see Carlisle so happy with his mate after 350 years.
