hey, it's owhda. how have you been? it's a little bit sad to see no updates on tumblr from you(I mean any, even just a talk) but that just mean there's something else going on in your life and I sincerely hope it's something good. I didn't really know you much but I really thought that you could be a good friend to have. So.. could we get a glimpse into your life? How's your work? What are you interested in right now?

Hello, hello! It's so nice to see some familiar faces still hanging around this dusty blog! I've missed interacting with you both and Tumblr in general, it's very humbling to know people are reminded of me from time to time. I guess now is as good a time as any to post a little update on what's been going on in my life, how that's affected my writing and what I've got planned for the blog in the coming future. For those who wish to skip the chatter, tldr; I'm hanging on, this will blog will remain online and I do have plans to continue writing.

Let’s see… where do I even begin? Shortly after May, I’ve received an exciting notice - I was promoted! It’s a goal I’ve been working on for some time so it was quite satisfying to hear the news. Since then it’s been a whirlwind of activities - trying to juggle my new responsibilities and manage my own team took some time getting used to. I’ve worked solo for so long it was difficult to be the ‘leader’. In fact - I still am uncomfortable being one, but I’m starting to get the grasp of it.

I’ve been traveling for work as well and in these few months have been to Japan and UK. Both trips where I fell severely ill because my weak body can’t cross countries without making complaints and making me feel my age. Oh. And I finally got Covid in November which really laid me low for at least 2 weeks. 

I realise my health’s been taking a hit lately. Perhaps its the stress of having more work on my plate and being in a new position but I’ve been getting sick more easily. I’m currently recovering from a throat infection that I got from my UK trip as I write this - so fun times.

So yeah.. it’s been a lot of paperwork, electronic work, a lot of self reflection and remoulding of myself to my real life that really put writing on the back burner. I always wrote at night after work but nowadays I don’t even have the energy for that. If I’m not dead asleep by the time I’m done with work then some infection, flu or cold will get me. 

…and the longer I don’t touch my writing the less I wish to open my WIPs because I have a silly, irrational fear that I no longer write the same way I use to - either I’ve deteriorated or my style’s changed. It’s silly. 

Good news is that, I think I’ve finally found my pace, my new position is no longer ‘new’ but the norm and I’m slowly finding ways to carve out my own personal time in my new schedule. Which is why I’ve decided to tackle this issue today. To be honest, it’s been a while since I wrote anything fictional, but I’m planning on slowly working through the writing blocks that have built up due to my neglect. I’ve bought 2 new books during my trip in UK so that’s a step in the right direction right?

As some of my older followers would know and recognise by now, I do tend to go through highs and lows when it comes to activity on this blog. It often reflects what’s going on in my personal life haha. But lately, the creative bug that has been out of energy seemed to have been slightly rejuvenated - my habits of hyperfixating on creative mediums is rearing its head again so I know it’ll only be a matter of time before I’m itching to write again. 

About what..? TCF is still on my mind but not as much as before since it’s been some time since I last read its chapters. Lately I’ve been reading Absolute Sword Sense and am keeping up with its chapters so far. I’ve yet to get the newest Fire Emblem game and have been doing great avoiding any and all spoilers so far - but I’m pretty sure it’ll be going on my list of series I’ll write for in the future.

My health issues are to be tackled another day because I’m frankly, quite tired of taking meds. 

As for where I wish to take the blog… hmm.. that’s really a tough decision because I’ve never really had a clear goal in mind when it comes to this blog. It was just a great space to share my thoughts on fandoms and interact with likeminded people. I don’t think I’ll be opening requests for a while since I’ve got a huge backlog of WIPs to work on. I suppose I could attempt to keep the blog less.. dead? Not sure how I’ll go about it though.

Anyways.. that’s about it. Terribly sorry for the word vomit, I hope everyone's been doing well and enjoying your life! If it seems I'm a bit dead without updates, it's usually because there aren't any chatter related inboxes haha. So is this illu's call for random stories to be dropped in their mail? Yes.

before we start, the mimo gift package, for those who don’t know, is a box with a thank you letter signed by da wei, 2 bits of merch from each of mihoyo’s games (genshin impact, honkai impact 3rd, tears of themis) and a separate drawer underneath w/ an acrylic standee, photocards of lumi from nova desktop and some merch from houkai gakuen 2/gun girls z. it was given to content creators of all kinds to show their appreciation and gratitude for producing content !!

Intro: Being considered as a god in a world of a game you once played was surely unexpected. As far as you were concerned you weren't someone special. You lived a pretty tame and normal life. But not in this world you aren't.

Of course not only did you become a god in a blink of an eye, it seems that you've gained an ability for yourself as well! How neat. 

But the question is... how do you control it?

Your ability came as a surprise, only gaining it after a few months of being transported in Teyvat.

The ability to control light wasn't the power you expected. Out of all 7 elements in Teyvat, light certainly wasn't part of it.

You expected gaining a power or two considering you are a God. And logically that ability would have something to do with one or all of the seven elements in Teyvat. But hey, beggars can't be choosers. 

You may have not gained any ability connected to the 7 elements— much to the Archon's dismay (the chance of gaining some bragging rights was swiped lol) but light did however make you unique. 

Which only further proves who you truly were. 

And gaining an ability was cool and all. BUT How in the hell do you control it??? 

You didn't expect having powers would be hard. Well to be fair you didn't expect it to be easy either but you didn't expect it either to be this hard. Those shit you see in anime and manwhas lied to you.

But fret not for your dear acolytes are more than happy to help you! After all, they'd swipe any chance they can get just to spend some time with you. Ei mostly gets the most time since she's practically the only one closest to light and maybe Albedo too but the others might try and butt in. (and by others I mean everyone)

But even with their help you still can't seem to quite grasp it, you can't even count how many times you've almost accidentally blinded your acolytes (Childe and Kaeya mostly) whenever you try and do some little tricks with you light ability. 

Of course they'd usually just brush it off so that you won't worry, playing it cool and using excuses. And most of those excuses are extremely stupid. 

"Oh my god, Kaeya are you okay?!" "it's alright your grace my eye needed some light anyways"

Like,,, what??? His...eye needed light? Huh?? 

Or it could go like this

"Childe? Oh my god I'm so sorry" "Haha, your grace! No need to be so worried! I'll take this as training for my eyes!" he says trying to ignore the pain

Like Childe no, sweetheart your eyes are already dead looking as it is. Well on the bright side maybe the light in his eyes will come back if you continue doing that 💀

You have to refrain from using your powers for some time since you were scared that you might hurt Kaeya's non eye patched eye lmao. 

Despite them saying that it's alright and you don't need to feel guilty. You still do. So in order to compensate for your mistakes you usually just coddle them up, spoiling them with your attention, and spending some time with them! 

This usually starts a lot of jealousy from the rest of the harem. Some of them might even purposely try and get themselves hit with your light in order to be pampered by you. 

It hurts as hell and they feel guilty for tricking you but it's all worth it when they finally have you all to themselves.

Some of them might even try and gaslight / guilt trip you into giving them more attention (Kazuha and Ayato ). Going as far as whining about how their eyes reaaaaaalllyyyyy hurt and how you should definitely pamper them (Venti)

"Your grace my eyes reaaaaaally hurt, can I get a kiss to ease the pain?"

It worked.

On the other hand there are other character that could or might manipulate/ guil trip you into pampering them too albeit unintentionally (Thoma or Diluc). You might only overhear them talking about how their eyes hurt. And how they're having a hard time seeing. And because of that you would feel inclined to pamper them in order to compensate for your stupidity mistake.

And well if these incidents continue any further (purposely or not) then you're pretty sure a lot of people in Teyvat would be wearing eye patches at this point. 

Well it's not like they'll care anyways. They'd be more than willing to sacrifice their eyes—or eye in some cases if it means being able to spend a day or two with you. Masochists

It takes quite some time for you to perfectly grasp the way of the light (lol) but when you do, it calls for a celebration! 

The Archons might even suggest having your own vision spread amongst the people of Teyvat! Or maybe delusions like what the Tsaritsa did. Of course that depends on you, whatever you do they'd support it. 

And if you chose the latter and only gave a few of the acolytes your vision then you'd better expect a whole lot of jealousy coming your way

ITTO is definitely the fun dad. the one that takes his kids on piggyback rides, running around the backyard until you call them inside because itto, they're going to catch a chill if they stay out any longer. itto is generally such a cute dad, to be honest! he definitely has multiple photo albums on his phone dedicated to his children and rest assured, he shows them to his gang members at every opportunity.

CHILDE is a dad that loves his family very, very much. he showers his children in gifts, but not to the point where they become spoiled. he loves to cuddle them on his lap and tuck them into bed, reading them storybooks as they gaze their little childlike-wonder filled eyes up at him. all his kids adore him and jump on him after he comes back from a "business trip"!

ZHONGLI takes it day by day. most of the time, his children end up running in circles around him and he definitely can't keep up but that's okay! he's that father who quietly cuddles his children to sleep, running his fingers through their hair as they softly breathe. he loves every one of his children equally and is quick to reassure them that they are loved and appreciated, etc.

XIAO is that father of a few words. he is there, but does not necessarily engage in conversation with his children – not because he doesn't want to, but because he doesn't know how. xiao tries his best though. over time, he warms up to his own flesh and blood – taking them everywhere, when he's free. he even makes time for them, and that's what makes your heart melt, honestly.

DILUC tries his best. having lost his father at a young age, i can imagine that parenting could be hard for him – not having anyone to ask questions to. however, he does try his best. i think diluc would be that father who shows up to pick his kids every day! that..... rich dad...... everyone stares at him whenever he's there because he's quite literally a walking bank. very cute to see him carry his children though.

KAEYA is that one dad who likes to lightly embarrass his kid. he brings baby pictures wherever he goes... despite his child being 10 or 11. he affectionately embarrasses them, if you get what i mean. XD. kaeya definitely is that one ‘risk-taker’ dad, constantly pushing his child higher on the swings until you shriek at them to calm down. XD

ALBEDO is a gentle father, constantly teaching his children about the world around them. he takes them sweet flowers and mint plants and lets them experiment, smelling the flowers and grinding them for ingredients. he brings them out on little excursions, showing them slimes and hilichurls from a safe distance. it’s very cute, really!

perhaps, it's true that you'll never know kindness. you’ll never feel it on your skin when the breeze of mondstadt tickles your cheeks. you’ll never see it on the kind faces of the citizens of liyue. you’ll never hear it from the gentle pluck of a zither. you’ll never envision it when the stars align once more in place long forgotten.

maybe that is what fate has decided as your body caved into the pain, and the tests of your strength has failed you. your legs had long gone numb, your arms just the same. it’s such a nice place to rest, you think. if only it could stay that way for you, letting yourself fall into the solitude of nature once for all; you’d never have to run until your lungs have pit, never had to starve in the midst of being hunted down.

you no longer recall whatever fault it is they decided you committed, only offensive enough to invoke the wrath of those you loved once upon a time. it leaves a bitter taste in your mouth, knowing that the era of your laughter has long passed. instead, it has been replace of an age where the reign of such a tyrannical ruler clawed at you.

the swift rustle of grass keeps you wide awake, even when the call of death coaxes you to finally close your eyes and rest your weary soul. the sickening high-pitched laugh of teyvat’s beloved deity rings in your ear that you’ve come to akin to the annoying buzz of a mosquito. you wheeze painfully on the forest opening, accepting your fate.

your gaze remains on the cloudless sky before you, too painful to move even a single muscle of your body. you don’t even care to identify which characters on your past roster that she brought with her.

“given up, i see.” her tone is obnoxious, yet you can only imagine of shutting her up; you’re too powerless to ever go up against the characters you oh, so tirelessly built for months on end. how ironic that they’d kill you with the weapons that you provided for them.

“can you hurry it up? i’m tired enough as it is. i don’t even want to deal with you anymore.” you’re able to pick up all kinds of sounds after that, a few growls and clicks of tongues. nothing you aren’t used to before.

“be more respectful to her grace, scum—” you faintly hear the voice of scaramouche as footsteps indicate someone has moved closer— “you’re lucky that our beloved god has shown you kindness. if it weren’t for her, we would’ve killed you where you stood.”

you almost want to double over.

“kindness?” you wheeze painfully. “what do you know about kindness?”

“mercy.” zhongli retorts from afar. “it’ll be the only kindness you’ve been shown, yet you don’t even deserve it.”

despite the ache that roots itself deep within your bones, you force yourself to smile. a cloud drifts right in front of you, and you wonder what it’d be like if you were one. at least, you’d be able to live in bliss, no longer paranoid if you’ll live to see the next day.

“i suppose offering a little more wouldn’t hurt,” their god exclaims and puffs out their chest in pride, “say your last words. it’s the least i can give for such a pitiful creature.”

“last words, huh?” you hum. there’s nothing in particular in your head. you’ve long since been abandoned by the ones you’ve cared for the most, so who’d even be kind enough to give you a eulogy? you can no longer dwell on the pain, to spout out curses in your last moments. instead, you reminisce on the times of joy.

the grass underneath you caresses your skin as you sink further into the earth, back into the soil from whence you came. "i knew kindness once— offered it, even. i always thought that teyvat was a beautiful place, but i underestimated just how cruel it would be."

"the merriment of mondstadt's windblume festival, the lights of liyue's lantern rite, the fireworks of inazuma's summer festival— i'll never forget them. the adventures we went on, and the time i spent with you all are things i cherish the most." you smile. "maybe somewhere in my heart, i can find it to forgive you. i'm just thankful for the good memories."

as soon as that is said, your face falls once more, and the grin on your lips drop into a frown. "but i'll never forget what you've all done to me."

liquid gold drips down your nose, and you can just imagine the horrified looks on their faces now that the truth has come out. you, their true god, would die of the injuries inflicted by your very own acolytes; it'd make such a good drama, you muse. you've lost enough feeling in your body that you fail to register the desperate hands that run up and down your limbs in hopes of soothing the pain that pulsates underneath your skin.

a shriek rings in the air, and you're mildly surprised it isn't yours. you find yourself crowded by all kinds of bodies, but you can't force yourself to care. if you die here, at least you were kind enough to show them the truth— even if it meant leaving them to blame themselves for teyvat's downfall.

he decorates it as if his life depends on it. No because the lunchboxes he prepared for you every single fucking day either look fancy or straight up adorable. Diluc’s lunchbox aren’t that special if i’m being honest here. But it was full of love…he always make you the most fresh-made and most warmth one. He’ll fill in some pretty letters on your lunchbox while the aroma of his cookings stunt your nose.

so quick recap, he accidentally broke the pan you just bought because he though it was ‘anti-crack’. He kinda doesn’t know how to crack an egg correctly somehow….? So uh expect some of the egg skin on your floor every single fucking day, waiting to be cleaned by your husband. usually though? He cleans when the dishes has been finished, he thinks it’ll be more effective. Truth to be told, that’s an explainable reason yet a stupid choice.

He’s the one who make your marriage anniversary cake, daily serving of cookies, random strawberry cake, and chocolate brownies with sprinkles of your favorite toppings. Yes diluc has always spend his time in the house experimenting with baking so the mess is usually just pure chaos.he’ll only make all of his bakings for you to try though, not for the others. So if there’s any guest (especially kaeya) wanting to try his cakes then…you’ll better be prepared to get some backlash from irritated diluc.

"luluuuuu," you mumble, dragging out the syllables of your affectionate nickname for your boyfriend. diluc ragnvindr, known by all as the wine tycoon of mondstadt, and known by few as the darknight hero, actually adores your pet name for him - he thinks it's cute coming from you. he's standing over the counter at the angel's share, wiping down the wooden surface with an old rag until it's gleaming like a piece of treasure in the ocean's depths. the tavern is devoid of anyone other than the two of you, as the other workers left diluc to clean up after he encouraged them to go home for the night.

burying your face in his back, your arms snake around his waist, with one hand tugging on his black coat. beyond the feeling of home which comes with embracing diluc, you can also sense exhaustion emanating from his figure. "yes, my love?" he replies, concern flooding his tone, and you actually want to scold him. how can he always forget to take care of himself, yet still prioritise your wellbeing and ensure you're doing alright even as he seems to be a second away from collapsing of fatigue? "i want you to rest," you murmur, pressing your cheek against the rough material of his raven black coat. the coat suits him, all coarse and prickly on the inside "but y/n, i have to finish this-" diluc begins, only for you to interrupt, "diluc, i'll even do it for you if it means you'll go to bed."

diluc's eyes widen, and he turns around to face your pouting face. oh no, he thinks, you're making that irresistible expression! how on earth is he supposed to deny you anything when you look this cute?! "y/n... fine. i guess i can stop for tonight," he mutters, furrowing his brow as he ponders the likelihood of mondstadt being invaded by hilichurls if he doesn't go out and perform his self-appointed duties as the darknight hero. however, the smile that graces your features upon hearing his reply is enough to chase away all his reservations about halting work.

later that night when you pull him into bed and snuggle up next to him, diluc thinks he should take breaks more often if it means he gets to spend more time with your warmth beside him like this.

ALBEDO is the kind to keep changing depending on his mood. considering how he’s your stubborn little brat stubborn baby he’s often the small spoon. he works so hard give this man cuddles

but when he feels like it he’ll be the big spoon, often when you’re cold. his hands radiate warmth you never thought could have come from a person. in truth he hugs you tightly in his sleep and faces you towards the wall, in case any ‘unwanted visitors’ visit they’ll have to come at him first.

if he’s mad at someone, be his big spoon😤 he’ll seek comfort in your shoulder or neck or whatever he finds comforting. on the other hand run his back reassuringly and give him little kisses on his head😚

if it’s klee he’s mad at, well he can’t be mad at Klee, Klee may show up in the middle of the night to apologise to him and you get to watch a very adorable brother sister relationship. and then you’ll all cram into bed becuz it’s night and albedo already disciplined her for coming to dragonspine in the middle of the night;-; and then Klee will sleep on you two and it’ll be very uncomfortable for you;-; albedo will try to be the big spoon to you and Klee:)
