You read the onisama e manga? Did you have a physical copy or read online? I've heard they're hard to get a hold of. Also do you prefer the manga or anime?
i read it online! from my recollection i generally preferred the more fleshed-out, slower pace out of the anime. there were definitely charm points in the manga though that never made the transfer. one of my favorite scenes of it VVV

Have you read Claymore? It's like Berserk but better (no pressure seeing as you have a mile-long list of classic manga lol)
No I haven't, but it IS one of the classics on my insanely long to-read list! I don't really know anything about it other than that people often liken it to Berserk, which definitely makes me curious. I should bump it up my list and try it out soon
#honestly the cover art of the manga looked a little generic to me which didnt really spark my interest too much#and i didn't really see why it was compared to berserk from that vibe#but when i googled it just now i saw some pretty cool fantastical creatures and stuff in the manga art too#which definitely piques my interest a bit more!#ask#mightydyke#13readsmanga#reccs#p

If I went to a tailor and a fashionable fat butch woman was there wearing a suit I think it would be one of the best days of my life. Hope you get the job!
thank you so much!!!!!!! it would really be the dream for me as well :') also would be fun because i have a lot of practice finding good menswear for women and looking like things like how to work with hips and boobs and still get the desired silhouete etc etc like to some extent it would feel a bit strange to fit menswear for a man without such "limitations" haha

I've read some of your poetry that you've posted on here and I loved it! I was wondering if you'll ever post more or if you have another website where you post poetry or something (no pressure if you don't want to share obviously). Also if you'd have any tips for aspiring poets?
Thank you so much! I generally don't post my poetry, as I sometimes save pieces for later publication or even for competitions. As for advice, I really suggest reading accomplished poets -- it's really the only way to improve, IMO. This ask made my day, thank you for sending it!

DIRK: I love when fiction makes the audience feel guilty about their role as the audience. When something fucked up is treated as a joke, but later it’s recognized how fucked up it was and the audience feels guilty for finding it funny. When a character breaks the fourth wall to plead for help and you can’t do anything, so you just watch. And you know that the characters pain isn’t real, but they’re begging for help and you’re not helping because their suffering is entertainment for you.
JADE: blues clues?
DIRK: How do I get inside your head.

Also the fact that Seraph reads "grand tales" probably of knights, so much of her identity relates to this role because (I think) she's ashamed and probably scared of her own lesbianism. And Luna saying she doesn't like anything.. it's so different for her, where Seraph uses her role as an escape for who she is Luna's role as princess is all she's ever known. they're both such interesting characters I'm obsessed with them. And chapter 15 Hound !!!!! This was an incredible chapter because of how much sense it made about the characters motivations and also it was beautifully written and structured and illustrated and the whole way it fits into the narrative is masterful. A dog has so much longing "the only thing these damned beasts are capable of is wanting" "they know naught but baseless instinct" a dog's desires lead to pain and must be controlled. Being a lesbian is like being a hound and having desires that aren't allowed and are useless and worse than that. And the "you will be obliterated" what Seraph is doing in her feelings for Luna is like the hound attacking people. It's dangerous and leads to obliteration. Seraph tries to hide this part of her by being a knight, by being a loyal hound. Like in chapter 13 she denies that she's hungry in order to serve Luna as her knight. But then she admits her hunger she admits her desire. Also the chapters caterpillar and pupae are so good with that symbolism. A caterpillar like a hound has destructive desires "the bane of gardeners" And the fact that the chapter "pupae" is when they go to the village and must hide their relationship. In a pupa a caterpillar is hidden but it still changes and morphs. And in the village they see the stars and they are contained, these feelings are contained around he rest of the world for the fear of what they might think. I'm obsessed. Anyway I'm sorry for rambling this night be completely wrong or maybe very obvious but I just want to say. I love you webcomic and I love fantasy lesbians 👍
YESSSS thank you once more. seraph definitely has a complex under the surface relationship with her gayness especially in conflation with her wanting the princess, though she doesn't necessarily view her gayness inherently as a moral failing i would say...she thinks it's a lot simpler than it is. definitely a lot of subliminal clutter in her mind. and yess dog longing & dog and caterpillar hunger FTW and their relationships to their roles. thank you so much so awesome to see your asks really made my day.

Everything's Alright (To The Moon)
When this world is no more/The moon is all we'll see/I'll ask you to fly away with me/Until the stars all fall down/They empty from the sky/But I don't mind/If youre with me/Then everything's alright
"Its a mix of watching a playthrough of that game at a time in my life when the message was enough to fuck me up completely and its the piano and the soft music and the hopeful tone and like. A lot of songs feel like falling in love but this song feels like when youre already in love. does that make sense. laura shigihara owes me for emotional damages over this song"
A Monster in Paris (Monster in Paris)
I hide my pain inside a melody/As if the notes I sing will set me free/I keep all of my dreams under a lock and key/So afraid that they will fly away from me
“The film that it’s from is my favourite film ever, it’s about a giant singing flea. It’s about “otherness” that so many people can relate to, I relate to it because I’m gay. Beautiful vocals and amazing guitar”
Poll Runner: This whole film is so fuck-you-up it’s unreal. I’ve literally only watched the whole thing once, but its left such a strong imprint on me I can remember it vividly years later. Creepy, heartwarming, heartbreaking... If you haven’t seen it, go see it!
