It is absolutely astonishing to me that Xen does all the music and sound effects for Moonward live and I feel like not enough people are talking about it and someone with more musical/sound knowledge needs to write an article or interview them or something.

on some level there's nothing to this comparison but also there is. you weren't supposed to be here. the man who is in large part the reason you are here was just felled beside you and you were helpless to stop it. you feel as though you might as well have been the one felled in his stead.
they should not be here but they are! this is metatextually absurd! it is truly everything to me!

Is Third Person being visibly in person legal? This feels like Fold trickery.

Have I rewatched the 3rd season of Midst? Yes. Am I ready for this to end? No. Not at all.
If you haven't watched/listened to it - you've still got time. Doooo it. You won't be disappointed.

I've been thinking about Imelda's complete faith and investment in the Trust, and how it allows her to twist anything For The Good Of The Trust, like she full on tortured a guy. It also comes up in these small ways - the hypocrisy runs deep AND it's on the surface plain as day.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first time she meets Weepe she asks him if a tearror did something to him and then chastises Penny for doing the same. Of course, she's probably also attempting to deflect conversation and speculation away from "how did the Tripotentiary get like that" because she contributed to it, but underlying it is this: "it's totally fine for me to be intrusive and rude but you can't be".
And she could so easily justify why she asked, and why it's good to know about the backstory of people you're bringing into the Trust, and she was asking for her own safety! Imagine if "that kind of thing" could happen on Midst if you didn't have the right light bulbs! The horror!
But like....
Tumblr media
Not to get into it on main but it's really reminding me of white American suburban Christianity and how manners are treated as this paramount virtue, while at the same time people are nice without being kind, and the way the hypocrisy is just swept under the rug and pointing out inconsistencies is taboo. And how people with power can get away with anything, from impoliteness to abuse.

Just read an interview with Third Person where they were like "yeah so seasons 1 and 2 were made in our off-time so they're not our Best Effort but now we got Critical Role as our sugar daddy we can work on Midst full time and so season 3 is Lit AF" and I'm like
BITCH it's ALREADY like stepping off a glass cliff into the endless abyss and finding yourself walking on a liquid black void upside down WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU GOT EVEN SMUGGER SHENANIGANS AND HORRORS IN YOUR PANTS

Thinkin' about That Part of Moonward Ep 4, when Xen drops the hammer.
"It'd be nice to get to the ship. Unfortunately, [redacted]."
[A sizzling wail, rapidly coming closer, abruptly cut short.]
Marisha, Sara, Liam and Matt: ........?...
"Heheh. Uh-oh,"
WHAM.
If you're not caught up, I'm begging you watch Moonward 1-3 so you can experience Wednesday's finale as soon as possible. You need this story in your veins, I promise. Xen's music is a PC at this table, and that PC is a stark raving genius.

Midst Appendix Master Document
To the best of my knowledge, there's not a convenient way to see all of Midst's appendices laid out next to one another. While they're all publicly available at https://twitter.com/midstpodcast, it requires digging back through their old messages to access them. Hopefully this will make reading them much simpler. Episode taglines are pulled from https://midst.co/episodes/.
Each one corresponds with a specific episode, and they do reference major story spoilers for Midst, so be aware of that while looking through each season's postings.
Credit and thanks goes to Third Person ( @midstpodcast ) for the incredible universe they built, and for the fantastic story they told within it. To support them, or to access episode transcripts, go to midst.co.
