Tyler was hyped about their newest album coming out soon but he’s also nervous. He’s a perfectionist, he’s never 100% satisfied with his work. Always overthinking, always asking the what if questions. So he was downstairs in his home studio, listening to the album as I was making dinner for us. “Ty? You want some dinner?” I asked him as I stood at the top of the stairs. “Sure.” He answered quietly back. “Okay, I’ll be down in a minute.”

I made him a plate and brought it downstairs to him. He was sitting behind his desk, his headphone covered his left ear. “Here you go handsome.” I placed his plate down on his desk. He turned his head to look up at me and smiles. “Thanks beautiful.” His hand slightly touched my leg. “Are you okay down here?” He nods and turns his head back to the screen. “I’m fine, just making sure the album is finished before we release it.” I gave him a gentle squeeze in his shoulder. “Okay, don’t overthink too much about it.” “I won’t.”

I was tossing around in bed, it was midnight and Tyler was still downstairs. ‘This is not healthy for him.’ I throw my blanket to the side and got out of the bed, I stepped into my slippers and walked downstairs. The house was quiet and dark, the only lights that were on came from his home studio downstairs. “Ty?” I tiredly asked and looked downstairs to look at him. His eyes were glued to his monitor. “Yeah?” He didn’t moved a muscle, like he was possessed by something else. “Are you coming to bed, it’s already past midnight.” He waved his hand and nodded. “Yeah, yeah. I’m coming in a minute.” I rolled my eyes and turned around. “Okay, see you in a minute.” I left him alone again, knowing he isn’t coming to bed anytime soon.

Tyler POV

My mind was running around as my eyes stared at the computer screen. “Still not good enough.” I changed it again and again. As I grew tired, tired from staying awake for so long. My eyes started to burn from all the lights and no sleep, my migraine was back and was hurting my brain as I’m still not satisfied with the results. “It’s always the same fucking shit.” I groaned and took a sip from my water, looking at the files as the words started to change, changing in those dark thoughts I rather not have lingering around in the back of my mind. “I need Josh’s opinion on this.” I tried to shake off those chilling thoughts and tried to block out those voices that were now screaming in my head. I shared the files with him and looked at the clock, 3am. I rubbed my face and leaned back in my chair, still looking at the monitor as the words on the screen started to fade away, feeling all dizzy and a lot of pressure forming in my chest. My phone buzzed, it was Josh sending me a quick message.

Joshua🥁: I will listen to this asap in the morning 😴

Joshua🥁: Don’t worry, just get some sleep 💤

I sighed and saved my work and turned everything off. I walked back upstairs and checked if everything was closed off and slumped upstairs to our bedroom. Y/n was already sleeping, as she lay on my side of the bed. ‘I’m so blessed to have her in my life.’ I stripped my clothes off and joined her. As soon I lay next to her she moved closer and lay her head against my chest. “Ty?” She tiredly says as I caressed her back. “Yeah it’s me, just go back to sleep.” I kissed her head and she immediately felt asleep again. I stayed awake for a while, looking at the ceiling, as my migraine started to fill my brain with these dark thoughts about life….

I woke up from the morning sun that shines through our window. She was lying against my chest, all wrapped up around me. My hand went carefully towards her face and gently wiped her hair away. ‘Beautiful.’ Her eyelids slightly moved, a small low hum came from her and with that she opened her eyes. “Good morning beautiful.” I said in my morning voice with a small smile on my face. I caressed her cheek and she smiles tiredly at me and nuzzles her head back into my chest. “Good morning handsome.” She mumbled softly against my chest. I wrapped my arms around her and started to rub her back as she started to trace my chest in the morning sunlight shining down on us.

I was downstairs, video calling with Josh. “No, I think it’s good enough, they will love it.” He says as he was eating some breakfast. “I know but I think there is more.” He chuckles and shook his head. “You always say that, believe me it’s good.” I nodded and looked down at my notepad. “You really think so?” I asked him as I was playing with the pen that was laying on my desk, not really feeling sure about it. “Yes I really think so.” I hummed and looked up again. “Okay, then let’s release it.” He nods and gave me a thumbs up. “Let’s do this.” I nodded and saved up our files. “Yeah, let’s do this.” Feeling a bit unsure about this….

Okay, slight change of plans: I made a promise I was going to publish For The Sake Of Nature today, but it’s close to midnight where I live and I’ve been writing on and off for roughly 8 hours and me very sleepy. 🥱

Sorry everyone. No Martian fic on Martian Monday, I’m afraid. Self-care comes first. I’ll have to either publish it on Martian Mtuesday or Martian Mwednesday depending on my schedule. It can be very unpredictable at times. 🙁

Here’s a sneaky peeky of what to expect to make up for it:

“Come on! It’ll get dark soon.”

The sound of Sebastian’s sing-songy voice ripped Mark out of his thoughts again. He rolled his eyes as he heaved himself up, using the base of his bike for support, and stretched his stiff, sore limbs, grimacing a little as he felt every joint pop and crack from the pressure. He propped his bike against a nearby tree, unclipped his helmet and hooked it over the handle, and reached inside his backpack for the tent.

“I hope you’ve brought the mallet and tent pegs, or else you’ll be sleeping in the cold.” he quipped.

“Got ‘em right here.” replied Sebastian, wiggling the bag containing them at the Australian’s face. “So thankfully, I won’t have to.”

Mark folded his arms and cocked an eyebrow at him. “I thought you didn’t mind the cold? What with you living in Switzerland and all.”

Sebastian shrugged. “I don’t mind the cold. If it’s not too overbearing, of course. If the air is something like this–” He reached a hand out into the air for emphasis. “–then it’s fine. It’s comfortable for me. But if I’m at the Race Of Champions for example and it’s 10 times below freezing, then…yeah. It isn’t pleasant.”

“Says the person who once stripped himself naked and got into an icy lake at the same event.” snorted Mark, his hand already sneaking its way to cover up his grinning mouth.

Sebastian’s eyes widened at that. “You know about that!? How did you–? You don’t even go to that event!”

This made Mark burst into fits of laughter. “Word spreads, mate! It’s all over social media! That’s how I find out about these things. I’ve seen the videos.” he added with a wink.

Now it was Sebastian’s cheeks that felt warm. “Th–That was a dare! Okay? Someone dared me to do it and, uh…well…heh! You know me. I never say no to a challenge. It was so cold in that lake! You wouldn’t believe it!”

“I can imagine!” snickered Mark as he wipes his tears away with his knuckles and the backs of his hands. When he manages to catch his breath again, he lets out a big sigh. “You proved one thing to me, though.”

“What’s that?”

“That you’ve got bigger balls than me. Besides, I wouldn’t even dream of going into that lake. That takes nerves of steel to do something as ridiculous as that. You’re something else, mate. You really are.”

When his attention turns back to Sebastian after his tears dry up, he finds him seemingly looking at something on the ground. Mark frowned and tried following his eye line, but all he could see were dry brown leaves, and bits of twigs and soil beneath their feet. Was there an insect or a caterpillar or something on the ground?

“What is it?” he asked.

Sebastian grazed his teeth thoughtfully against his lips. “I’m just figuring out how big your balls are compared to mine.”

Mark’s jaw dropped in such a way it was comical. Then he feigned a scowl just as quickly.

“Ooooh, you cheeky little bugger!” he growled as he lunged at Sebastian, grabbing hold of his tiny waist and shoving him into a big bear hug.

(mainly text) Reviewing the prior four generations of the planetary legacy

I've been thinking about the things I'm glad happened, and the things I'd do differently, now that I'm over halfway through my planned eight generations. I know this won't interest everyone (it may only interest me, come to think of it) (yeah you know what, this is the definition of self-indulgence) so--below.

Generation Saturn

I would have made this a lot less story-ish if I had it to do over, mainly because it was shit as a story. But I was coming from Wordpress where, up until the last 4-5 years when everyone began to drift away, at least, there really was something of a TS3 community, where people interacted a lot with each other's posts, and the focus was more text than screenshots. It wasn't perfect--I must stress that--but it was entirely free of some of the things that make Tumblr so obnoxious. If there was drama, I remained oblivious to it.

To go from that, to the near-zero feedback I got on Tumblr initially, was like being plunged into an ice bath. The only reasons I kept going at all back then were @happy-lemon and @autonomousllama, who were kind to me, made me laugh, and liked some of the posts I did.

I did get discouraged and rush through the latter half of this generation, because I also learned that I am not a fan of Into the Future. It's fine--not everything is for everybody. At least I finally played it and found that out for myself.

Generation Uranus

The big mistake here was rushing Yuri into marriage when his first love didn't work out. Sims will marry anyone you tell them to, but it doesn't mean they'll have a happy union. And I did want to finally try out Midnight Hollow, sure; but why I thought it would be a good idea to move the pink-haired elfin lady from Dragon Valley there is a mystery.

I should never have given Enya a fairy potion to drink, either. It was cute for 5 minutes and then it was, why's the teenager up at 2 a.m.? Oh, because her room has the only audio equipment and Enya has 24/7 dance fever now.

Otherwise, I have to be honest: This was the most fun generation to play after Velma's. I love World Adventures and I got a kick out of Yuri, even when he was being a dipshit. Maybe especially then.

Generation Neptune

I mean, we know, right? The heir should have been Wendalyn. But it wasn't 100% my fault--the 64-bit version of the game being broken with respect to water, that was going to make this generation boring no matter who the heir was. If you cannot dive/swim/snorkel/perform any directed action in the ocean, you're left with fishing. 😴😴😴

I did at least get Velma out of it. It's funny--some Sims you know right away are going to be the heir. I knew it'd be Velma when she was a toddler. I loved Vivienne, too, but she was destined for a supporting role, and she turned out to be perfect for it.

Generation Mercury

My massive regret here is, I never and I mean never, ever, ever should have moved Velma out of Elmira City. She was happy as hell there and the saves weren't even getting glitchy; I just thought Aurora Skies would be ✨more wholesome for children✨ and wanted to bring up the next generation there.

It was such a mistake and it wrecked my enthusiasm completely. Putting Velma in Aurora Skies was like putting Enya in Midnight Hollow, like, why do I do this stupid shit? "Oh, the contrast will be so--" boring, self! It will be boring.

It also broke some of the Sims I took along for the ride. Neither Marco nor Ian had a mean bone in their bodies in Elmira City, but suddenly in Aurora Skies all either of them ever did was Berate Ignorance. (Neither of them was a genius or irresistible, either, though that was probably obvious already.)

Finally, I will never know if perhaps Devon would've been less into Vivienne had I left him in Elmira City, where he had not yet met her, and possibly never would have. Sparks were not flying between him and Velma, though, and that was true even in Elmira City. And I was furious, because generally, sparks flew between everyone and Velma.

Another regret: sending Undine to boarding school as a child. That stupid Aurora Skies house had a backyard I filled with every bit of playground equipment I could possibly pack into it, and then none of it ever got used except, I think Velma and Devon did woohoo in the tree house once, or... I'm pretty sure Velma banged somebody there, anyway. 🤭 It would have been so unlike her not to.

Because @bnhxwks asked me to answer all the rest of those self ship questions it is time for a very long post and I apologize if it’s annoying. Thank you for enabling me! I also hope I caught all the spelling mistakes.

💌 Reiner doesn’t write anything too flowery but every single words is painstakingly thought out. He will agonize over every word, wanting to get it right. He’ll even rewrite it several times if he has to in order to get it right but in the end, they are the sweetest letters, filled with his thoughts and favorite memories of us.

🍷 Reiner was such a wreck. He was nervous because he wanted our first date to be perfect. We went to a nice restaurant — nothing too fancy — and then took a walk along the waterfront. He even made us stop for ice cream. We stayed out to stargaze a bit (but he stared at me more than anything else) and he made sure to take me home. He even asked before kissing me good night.

😘 Our first kiss was at the end of our first date. He asked for permission first and it was soft and sweet but Reiner was clearly nervous. He kept his hands firmly on my hips the whole time.

😳 Reiner will sneak up behind me and whisper the dirtiest things in my ear while holding my hips and keeping me pressed up against him. He’ll do it when we’re alone or in public. Either way, it gets me every time. The easiest way for me to fluster Reiner is to give him a firm smack on his ass. He blushes every single time.

😍 I knew I fell for Reiner after our first date. (Yes, that soon.) He sent me flowers the next day and showed up with a pint of my favorite ice cream. He tried to be sneaky and leave it at my door but I caught him. He swears he fell for me before he even knew my name. He saw me at the farmer’s market while I was shopping alone and he says he just knew we would end up together.

😴 If we’re sitting on the couch, I’m always cuddled in at Reiner’s side. At some point, he’ll pull me on to his lap though. Sometimes he’ll lay down with his head in my lap while I’m sitting down so I can play with his hair too. If we’re laying down together, I’ll usually lay half on him with my head on Reiner’s chest (he’ll play with my hair or nuzzle his nose in my hair) or we’ll spoon.

🥰 My favorite thing is how he tries so hard to remember the things I like so he can surprise me with them later, like bringing home my favorite cupcakes for no reason other than he saw them and they reminded him of me.

💭 He would probably be thinking about all of the little things he loves about me. Everyone calls him a lovesick puppy for a reason!

💋 He loves to kiss my fingertips and the crook of my neck, depending on if he’s just being sweet or if he’s trying to turn me on. (But that’s only if he’s not kissing my lips.)

{I’m dumb and couldn’t find the emoji} When I’m sad, he’ll hold me and rub my back and let me cry it out. Then he suggests we bake cookies together to try to cheer me up!

💐 Reiner loves when I get him daisies. Mostly because it’s what I got him once for his birthday and he had never had someone get him flowers before so they became his favorite. He loves getting me roses but he’ll often surprise me with stargazer lilies because he knows they’re my favorite.

🎄 Christmas Eve is spent with his family, having dinner and exchanging gifts. We go to my family’s on Christmas Day in the afternoon for an early dinner and gift exchange. But Reiner and I will exchange one gift at midnight on Christmas Eve/Day and then we open any other gifts after getting home from Christmas with my family.

🎁 Reiner is happy with practical gifts but he loves when I make him something, like a scrapbook or photo album. He usually gets me things that he knows I won’t get for myself, like a slightly expensive perfume or a first edition copy of my favorite novel.

🎟️ There’s a reason our movie dates happen at home now. Reiner will get distracted even when he picks the movie. He ends up with his hands under the blanket we’re snuggling under and the next thing either of us know, we’re having sex on the couch. We’ve been kicked out of movie theaters because Reiner can’t keep his hands to himself even in public.

There are still some novellas I haven’t read yet, but my library doesn’t have them, so I’ll be stopping here for now while reading some other things. This was a superfun series!

17. Serpent’s Kiss (Rune/Carling): Rune can’t get me past the crusty, old vampire who’s trying to retire and die but is also a romantic lead 🤢

16. Peanut Goes to School: manic pixie dream kid gets the better of a teacher-bully. Good for him.

15. Devil’s Gate (Seremela/Duncan): zzzzzzzz I’m happy for them 😴

14. Hunter’s Season (Xanthe/Aubrey): I mean, I came around to them eventually, but kind of an outlier story, both in setting and social status of the leads

13. Dragos Takes a Holiday: it’s cute! But mostly a little filler story.

12. Wicked (Olivia/Sebastian): if this wasn’t fiction, their little workplace romance would have flamed out spectacularly and left their coworkers uncomfortable for months while stuck on a tiny island with them

11. Lord’s Fall: set up for the back half of the series, with great action and some new characters. And then a very silly birth situation.

10. Shadow’s End (Graydon/Bel): practically the definition of angst *chef’s kiss*

9. Midnight’s Kiss (Melly/Julian): I like how they have a lot of fun and laugh together. Shackles in a dungeon don’t hurt either

8. Pia Saves the Day: an amnesia love story between some old favorites

7. Dragon Bound (Pia/Dragos): this was such a great start to the series. Pia’s a great protagonist, Dragos is scary-sexy, and plenty of action.

6. Night’s Honor (Tess/Xavier): Xavier is one of my favorite types—strong, powerful, restrained, thoughtful. Tess is also an interesting character, and I like the slow burn.

5. Oracle’s Moon (Grace/Khalil): Grace, and how she cares for the kids as well as shouldering her financial difficulties, captured my attention as much as Khalil’s.

4. Natural Evil (Claudia/Luis): look, a tough woman and a sex-on-a-popsicle-stick-with-brains guy take out a slavery operation. What’s not to love?

3. True Colors (Alice/Gideon): I am a sucker for a sweet story about mating at first sight, between a rough-around-the-edges cop and a not-at-all-tough girl, where both realize they are home with each other

2. Kinked (Quentin/Aryal): this one single-handedly converted me about enemies-to-lovers, and I was there for every minute of it.

1. Storm’s Heart (Tiago/Niniane): I love everything about this one. It’s funny. It’s sexy. An extremely powerful male sets himself aside to support the woman he loves. It’s all very Lan/Nynaeve and I adore it.

all this talk about the sardinian street and I'm here in my little bed IN SARDINIA (literally), not on the street tho, being literally horrified by the possibility of something like that happening

( realistically, I know shit like that happens but the thought of it being a widespread phenomenon makes me want to hide under my bed and never leave my house again)
