Last night I finished Gideon the Ninth, put the book down by my side, thought “I need a Gideon plushie”, and fell asleep. 

The morning came, and all the love is still inside me, and I still want a plushie.

Also, does this gorey space murder tragedy provide one with a warm fuzzy insulation against harsh reality for days on after finishing the book? You bet it does! Very warm, very fuzzy😭

And what is better than having Gideon and Harrow beside you when going for an initial periodontist visit! The doctor goes - so, we remove the tooth, remove everything in there, and add a bone graft here, the bone graft there… Don’t worry, that’s just a regular human bone, from a cadaver, here, look!

Half of my brain thinks - oh gosh, this sounds way more complicated and surgery-ey than I thought, but the other one swoons - awww, just like Harrow! My periodontist is going to be my twilit princess and bone empress, she will make awesome new things out of bones! And implant them in me! I’ll be a bit of a bone empress, too <3

listening to the audiobooks all the way thru after reading the series hits different like. I think I've pinpointed exactly when harrow realizes exactly how down bad she is.

the part where shes screaming at poor little shell-shocked gideon calling her an idiot etc after the 4th dies. I realized like... she didn't give a FUCK about the 4th. she all but said "fuck them kids" at every turn. she wasn't being harsh, she wasnt frustrated that gideon fell asleep and didnt see the killer. she was freaking out because she realized it could've so easily been gideon.

and then IMMEDIATELY after that is the part where she (in her own harrowy way) comforts her during her nightmares. and then after that was the part where she EXPRESSLY forbid interacting with "dulcinea" out of obvious jealousy and they had the nasty little fight where gideon says they'll always hate each other and she says that's Incorrect (and then quickly covers it up by saying she doesn't need her, which is TOTALLYYYY what she meant)
