El Centro Interactivo BioMa en Manizales (del grupo @epmestamosahi) es un complejo donde el visitante descubre algunos fenómenos naturales por medio de herramientas tecnológicas y está ubicado en el Ecoparque Los Yarumos. En el año 2015, tuve el honor de trabajar en su museografía junto a @forja_studios y en este post pueden ver algunas de las piezas que desarrollé. Este proyecto lo planeó y ejecutó @parqueexplora y tuvo la fortuna de ser premiado en los MUSE Creative Awards (@museaward) en las categorías: Best Interpretive Interactive Installations y Best Multimedia Installations. También fue galardonado por la @revistaproyectodiseno con el Lápiz de Acero por la experiencia interactiva Paisaje Modificado.

🪱WormS🪱 Microscopic nematodes have a unique way of moving despite lacking limbs or appendages. The movement of these long slender worms (typically .1 - 2.5mm long) is achieved through the coordinated contraction and relaxation of their body muscles, combined with the hydrostatic pressure within their fluid-filled body cavity. By contracting the longitudinal muscles that run along the length of their body, nematodes can create a bending motion that propels them forward in a wave-like manner. Their forward progress is still not very fast and IMO they look rather frantic achieving it. Nematodes possess sensory organs on both ends of their body, which help them detect environmental cues such as light, chemicals, movement, oxygen levels, and temperature. Using these sensory inputs, they can navigate and adjust their movement direction accordingly. Filmed with @jaredlead Jared Leadbetter at @caltech using Canon Mark III and Zeiss Axioplan II. Esta bellecita del SARS-CoV-2 nos puso a voltear más de 3 años y ni siquiera hay un consenso oficial de si se trata de un organismo vivo o no. Debido a que los virus no cumplen con todas las características de los seres vivos, la mayoría de los científicos los consideran entidades no vivas. Sin embargo, son entidades biológicas complejas que pueden causar enfermedades en plantas, animales y humanos. Son una parte importante del mundo natural y todavía hay mucho que aprender sobre ellos. Transcription and Translation Transcription Key points: Transcription is the first step in gene expression. It involves copying a gene's DNA sequence to make an RNA molecule. Transcription is performed by enzymes called RNA polymerases, which link nucleotides to form an RNA strand (using a DNA strand as a template). Transcription has three stages: initiation, elongation, and termination. In eukaryotes, RNA molecules must be processed after transcription: they are spliced and have a 5' cap and poly-A tail put on their ends. Transcription is controlled separately for each gene in your genome. Translation Translation involves “decoding” a messenger RNA (mRNA) and using its information to build a polypeptide, or chain of amino acids.
