Microcomic Summer 2024: The Search for Cindermeowla

This year's comic is the Search for Cindermeowla, aka the tale of a prince who isn't very bright.

I had a completely different concept scripted, and then the image of Cindermeowla running down the stairs muscled its way into my brain and demanded context. Inspiration can be fickle that way!

i don't think anyone is asking for a detailed analysis in the comments of their fic. it's just the general trend if no one comments or kudos then authors might want to keep their fics private as well, ya know? no feedback is no feedback so maybe it is better to just keep it in the google docs.

like, i enjoy critiquing bad fic in private as much as the next person but if you actually do enjoy a fic you can just be like "Nice fic!" or "Kudos!" or even just a basic "<3" while telling your friend in DMs how much you disliked the way the author wrote side character C or how you liked the ending but was hoping for XYZ instead. and I swear it still means something.

Except — some authors don't like microcomments. Those aren't 100% safe either. There is no kind of comment which is guaranteed not to offend/hurt feelings. Even the wordy comment which is purely positive in the mind of the commenter can unknowingly hit some author's sore point or misinterpret something in an annoying way.

Push this button. Probably it will cause someone to be given $10. But, it might cause them to be slapped in the face instead, and they'll know you did it.

I love getting comments. I hate getting no comments, it makes me sad. But I have great sympathy for people who do not want to gamble.

Also the post I was reacting to was complaining about someone having a private book club discord server for their discussions.
