Why Necromancy Doesn't Exist is a fantasy Micro-RPG about magic, taxonomy, and petty academic disagreements. If you like making arguments for the sake of making arguments, compiling evidence to support a clearly ridiculous claim, or having in-depth discussions about fake things that don't matter -- well, that's what this game is about.
Why Necromancy Doesn't Exist will always be free, but if you enjoy it, check out my other games.

Do you enjoy walks but it's kind of tough to do them? Well, same.
I would even say that's relatable enough that I would make an entire 12-word micro-rpg, based in the exploration and playful discovery of your real-life surroundings, with the help of a simple paper plane.
If you enjoyed one of my former games, SELF-CARE OR DARE! (and If you didn't, feel free to check it out!), this one could provide you with another playful coping mechanism for a mundane but valuable portion of your life. And If it doesn't, well, also great. Maybe you would just dig to spice up another walk in the park or through your apartment! Living room! Garage! Whatever space has a gravity field to throw this thing!
Give it a look over here! It's PWYW down to 0$ and comes with a free, printable digital poster of the cover Illustration in the sizes A4 and A3!
This game was made as a Jam entry to W.H. Arthur's and Rook and Role's 12-word Jam on itch.io, as an interpretation of one of the optional themes (cartography! more or less!). It was incredibly fun to create, illustrate and layout this game, after this specific idea came to me through a conversation with my girlfriend (@carecrowgames who made and ACTUAL cartography entry, a 12-word game engine to make 12-word games! check it out over here).
I hope it brings you joy, If you have any opinons or comments on this game feel free to share them with me in my asks or on any other social media platform you can find me on. ALSO, If you happen to print one of the posters, I would love to see it!

SKELLINGTON RPG: FIGHT IN AN UNDEAD ARMY, MAKE PUNS, PLAY A TROMBONE
A microRPG I cooked up on lunch break at work based on an old wint tweet. Honestly I like the system and wouldn't mind doing more one shot stuff with it.

Sometimes you just need to make something cute. This solo ttrpg requires you to find out exactly 2 things- what kind of rock did you find, and how cool is it? Yes you can make an entry into your field journal, but no one’s going to make you do that if you don’t want to. Let’s be real here, this is all about the coolness of the rocks.
This was game 4 of 10 for the Shit of Get Off the Pot game jam.

hi so I kinda sorta wrote a game! It’s called Out On The Porch, and it’s about gossiping with your friends and that trope of old people sitting out on their porches watching the world go by (ik that’s incredibly specific but also I love it so…).
Here’s the description, copied straight over from itch:
Out On The Porch is a rain-soaked, occasionally introspective micro-rpg, which you can play using a single d6.
In theory it’s a game about conversations and the people we have them with, about the social rituals hidden in our everyday lives, and that one trope where your first introduction to an elderly character involves them sitting in a rocking chair on their porch, gazing into the middle distance.
In reality, it’s just about getting the chance to gossip with your friends when you’ve got a spare moment or two. Oh, and tea. It’s about tea.
If that sounds like something you’d be interested in checking out, it’s available for free on itch (here's the link)! This is my first foray into making anything like this, so any feedback is very much welcome! Any reblogs will result in me blowing you a kiss <3 muah
#ttrpg#solo rpg#rpg#fun fact it took me 3 hours to write this#and significantly more than that to format it and wrangle itch into shape#WHY do I have to fill out US tax forms this is awful#anyway#micro ttrpg#god what even are tags#if anyone is reading this. Hi. what are you doing here

The title of Why Necromancy Doesn't Exist comes from the memoir Why Fish Don't Exist, which includes lots of taxonomy and cladistics. I was a bookseller at the same time this book was popular, so the name stuck with me
The title of the book is based on the argument that, cladistically, "fish" is not an actual category. A salmon is more closely related to a camel than a hagfish. Why Necrromancy Doesn't Exist was based on a worldbuilding exercise I did that argued something similar about magic
In the exercise I wrote about how necromancy isn't actually an inherent school of magic, it's a trade. A dozen different schools of magic, just applied to dead bodies. It was fun to write, so I made a game out of it
I've always been interested in taxonomy (not just of animals, but as a subject), especially when it's heated and personally or politically motivated. I love odd results like the Catholic church classifying capybaras as fish. If you also enjoy this stuff, check out this game

thank god for indie devs making like tiny little maximum 10 megabyte freeware games on itchio keeping the art of filesize optimization alive. ASSET REUSE FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
#im watching a video about wario land music -> 'the bizarre music and sound design of wario land 4' by geno7#good video so far! i like this guys stuff. he talked a bit about how they did some of the sound effects for warios voice#a very like. chopped and remixed sample style of doing his vocal lines. which is very cool 1) because it saves a bit of#precious space on that gba cartridge BUT ALSO 2) it just sounds cool and interesting stylistically#and man sometimes trying to keep a file size down really does give way for some really interesting stuff#on my own personal interests in games i ADORE rpg makers rtp and how people can find creative uses for it#i love that a bunch of games can draw from the same asset pool as one install on ur computer#no bloating your hardrive with a bunch of copies of the same assets - its just already here!#and from a developers perspective i love when they reuse old assets from other games in new weird ways#some small visual novel companies will reuse backgrounds and other assets#altho i dont mind a bit of bloat with VNs since a big draw can be the big pretty images and big pretty sounds#but its still cool when people find ways to get creative with space saving. and from a players perspective its also nice#space is cheap nowadays. but its not Free. we can swallow terabytes whole with micro sds and everything#but a lot of players dont get the chance or ability to upgrade their internal memory that often. so i think being considerate of filesize i#very important. and thats not even getting into the download bandwidth limits - a lot of people all across north america can only get like#internet from 1 provider and that 1 provider often likes to upcharge and limit shit because they can#we might live in a future where a lot of powerful technology exists. but access to that tech is another story#so remember the filesize. remember the filesize.#dies in your arms

I had an epiphany….
Today, while browsing Facebook, I saw a comic about a couple of female RPG adventurers who are attacked by a shower of arrows… one has normal armor and the other has micro bikini armor, the first one takes critical damage and the second one practically no damage…
and I asked myself why it is like that…
and my conclusion…
A conspiracy between the Blacksmiths and the Wizards!!
I mean, at first the armor is full body for men and women, but as they improve two things happen…
in men it becomes more elaborate and ornate
and in women it becomes smaller until they reach the micro bikini armor…
my epiphany… the Blacksmiths and the Wizards reached a consensus to do this with the women's armor.
Possibly the high-ranking magic armors have to have some pieces that allow them to hold the support enchantments they have…
I think those specific pieces are the ornaments on the men's armor and the women's micro bikini armor…
Most likely these enchanted pieces have to be made with a more expensive/specific material, with a more arduous/careful process so that they serve as an anchor for the enchantments that the wizards will later put on them.
The conspiracy itself is that Blacksmiths and Wizards refuse to make high-level female full armor, but instead they make ones with the minimum of materials since it allows them to save a lot of money on materials and time and also allows them to see a woman practically naked all the time.
I mean, whoever decided this and also followed the tradition are some first-class perverts.
The best solution is for adventurous women to use it as the underwear they are and put a blouse and pants on top of it.
#I'm rambling.#RPG Fantasy#Micro Bikini Armor#Bikini Armor#Enchanted Armor#The conspiracy of the Blacksmiths and Wizards#This is the only explanation for the existence of micro bikini armor#Am I right or wrong?#Do we need more female blacksmiths?#Or are Micro Bikini Armors mandatory in the Blacksmiths and/or Wizards Association?#Are female full body enchanted armors illegal?#Or is it a tactic to stop women from being adventurers?#I mean they get to a point where when they need better armor they can only use bikini armor where they wear it or they retire#In the end I'm not sure what I wrote

Ever wanted to just argue with your friends over something irrelevant? Spoils of War is a micro-rpg entirely on a business card that encourages you to do just that. Inspired by Book 1 of the Iliad, argue over how much share of the loot you should have. All you need to play are some coins and 2 D8s, D10s, and D12s.
Check it out here!
This was submitted as part of the First annual Micro-RPG Business Card Edition! Currently hosted on itch, check it out and other entries here.

"Ah, you're new to the garden, so this might be normal for you but, in my day, we didn't have any of this overgrowth. Why, you could stand on one end of the lawn and see all the way t'other! And the bird feeders - oh! Stacked with all kinds of seeds, they were, and suet balls big as a hedgehog! What's that? Well, no, maybe not as big as Spike, he's always been a big lad. But as big as you could ever ask for. And the sunflowers - three times as tall as Esmerelda, if they were an inch! Those were the days. You barely knew the Caretakers but, believe you me, it's been a long, hard summer without them. The birds can hope they'll be back for the winter but me? I think we have to fend for ourselves…"
It's new micro-setting time on the MacGuffin & Co. Patreon! In Gnome Man's Land, you're the frogs, birds and garden gnomes of a once idyllic land, fallen into disrepair after the disappearance of the Caretakers. Now, their rubbish son Jeremy has turned up, and he's got plans for the garden...
