Valley, Mickey Darling & Charli Adams – Union Transfer – Philadelphia, PA – September 28, 2024

It was an exciting Saturday night in Philadelphia as Valley took the stage for the opening night of their Water the Flowers, Pray for a Garden Tour. Joined by Charli Adams and Mickey Darling, fans packed Union Transfer, ready to see their favorite band take the stage!

Up first was Charli Adams, whose delicate and heartwarming vocals kicked off the show. The stage was lit with a few lamps, and she took the stage solo with her acoustic guitar. She performed her songs “Bullseye,” “Cheer Captain,” “Airlifter” and “Backseat,” and managed to get the crowd singing and dancing to her cover of “The Middle” by Jimmy Eat World.

Taking the stage next and ramping up the energy, was indie-pop duo Mickey Darling! It was an exciting time to see Mickey Darling, as they had just released their debut album – Let’s Dance Until We Get Scared – the day prior to the show. Their set was fun and upbeat, including songs like “Pipe Down,” “Broken People Breaking Hearts,” “Vroom Vroom,” “You Were Perfect & I’m Sorry,” and “Reverse Cowgirl.” Both acts left their all on the stage and did a wonderful job hyping up the crowd for the performance that was to come.

As the lights went low, the cheers of the audience filled the room as Valley took the stage. They opened with the title track of their latest album, Water the Flowers, Pray for a Garden, and fans sang along to every word. Their set continued with “Have a Good Summer (Without Me),” “Bass Player’s Brother,” “A Little More,” and “Growing (Apart).” The stage was adorned with yellow flowers and plants, matching the theme of the artwork of the album. We have had the pleasure of seeing Valley perform before, and they exceed expectations each and every time.

Valley’s set continued with “A Phone Call in Amsterdam,” “Sucks To See You Doing Better,” “Swim,” “Mosquito,” “Let It Rain,” and “Crawlspace.” Their energy was infectious, and the crowd was giving it right back. The entire atmosphere that the music and the band themselves created was uplifting and engaging, and it made for such an incredible experience. Their talent and chemistry as a band is something that is so much fun to watch, and their ability to make each show unique is just one of many reasons to keep Valley on your radar!

Valley’s Water the Flowers, Pray for a Garden Tour continues through December, so be sure to pick up some tickets and get out to see a show near you!
