Currently Watching Sharper...
It's a streaming movie on Apple+. I went in not knowing anything about it, but I am fully engaged in this. I don't want to give away any plot because I think going in blind actually makes this better... Could go in a bad direction, but so far it's one of those under-the-radar weekned lunch at home type of movies. It's giving a bit of what I wanted from that Gugu Apple+ show
#thisisarec so far...
#not adding the tag officially until this movie is over#but seriously a lot of stuff has been mid lately#and this streaming flick is actually interesting and giving good performances#sharper#justice smith#julienne moore#sebastian stan#brianna middleton#john lithgow#I do think the role stan is playing should have skewed towards a younger actor though#not amazing but engaging and there is some effort there#stan would have had a micheal douglas type career back in the day#man brianna look just like jaz sinclair#thought the ending could have been telegraphed better#but again decent afternoon watch#not a bigrec tho

Did you see the latest article on the Middletons. It's scathing not only on Michael and Carol but James, Pippa and Pippa's in-laws too. And of course the article is using Kate's name and face even though the story isn't about her. I feel bad for her for getting dragged like this for no fault of her own. I wish Micheal and Carol would just pay up to whoever they owe money to.
can’t say that I have, no

“I just realised how similar the Middletons and the Markles are to each other the difference is one family is healthy and the other is toxic. Doria and Micheal are the quiet ones of the family you don’t even notice them cause they’re so private. Carole and Thomas birds of a feather, they both use their daughters names it’s just that one is discreet about it and the other isn’t and the other talks lovingly about her child while the other is deemed the bad guy because of some mistakes and I know some people think he’s toxic but Meghan once some pretty nice things about him before Harry and him buying her two doll sets to mix them up for her, yes he might have changed over the years obviously we’ll never know. Samantha and Pippa, I mean guys they both love talking to the press don’t act like Pippa didn’t give interviews differences is that Pippa didn’t trash her sister that’s all, plus they’re at the unfortunate looking sisters Pippa well more Pippa but in a world like ours just because Samantha is disabled and older she doesn’t hold a candle to Meghan, not my thoughts while Pippa, she sometimes looks like Kate’s older sister I mean from the fake tans to the eyeliners she was a walking nightmare thank goodness she got over that phase. And Lastly the brothers the other Thomas and James I mean what does Thomas even do for a living, it’s unfortunate he didn’t have parents who are well off who could fund his life just like James.” - Submitted by Anonymous

"Classic classism."
Actually I would say age & health. How much younger than Prince Charles & Camilla are The Cambridge's?
The point was, why do people expect the Middletons to babysit but not Charles. They are all equally the grandparents to G, C, and L.
Prince Charles is 72 years old.
Micheal Middleton is 72 years old.
Carole Middleton is 66 years old.

There are plenty of Carole Middletons out there. But Carole had the edge in several ways: (This is going to be long so I will send the post in several parts). 1. A willing partner - Micheal already had that educational trust for the kids and the upper crust family background, both of those contribute significantly to how the children develop - 1 parent can gripe about manners and ‘the correct way’ as much as they like but if the other parent is non-committal or conflicts with that, it’s...
…much more difficult/impossible. Michael had also boarded at a public school (the British ‘public’ meaning well-established fee-paying school, these are even more prestigious than standard ‘private’ schools - not like ‘public’ in the US which is a ‘free’ school, right?), just like his father and grandfather - a long line of Middletons who attended elite schools, they expect it, it’s in their blood, its a way of life. 2. Carole was strategic. They didn’t go to any old private school, they went...
to one of the top public schools in the country. This is best contrasted with Meghan who brags about going to a private school, but it was a basic, modest-fee high school, hardly Choate or Chapin. All the Middleton kids went to Russell Group universities too (these are the Ivy League of the UK). Again, another contrast with Meghan who brags about her ‘prestigious’ university, but frankly if it aint an ivy, it aint shit (in social terms, many non-ivies provide greater educations but we're not...
talking about that). Along with the annual ski holidays in the alps [most likely at the same hotels and chalets frequented by aristos and upper middles] they also bought a small share in a horse, not because of financial rewards (that almost never happens) but to get them into the owners’ and sponsors’ pen at the elite horse trials - immediately socialising *literally* in the right circles. 3. Luck. Unfortunately, this is a huge element. If Kate had been a couple of years younger or older...
or older, she may never have met William, already graduated or yet to enrol at St Andrews, therefore never dating her, therefore never giving her immediate family social cred (and therefore being accepted into aristo circles, such as Pippa at Edinburgh) and possibly meeting their future spouses who also socialise in/the peripheries of those circles (except maybe Alize, I have no idea about her). Carole wore the right clothes, had the right postcode...
spoke with the right accent, holidayed in the right places at the right time, paved her driveway in the right materials…they all contribute to somebody having the right ‘polish’ to be accepted into the ‘right’ social circles. They’re not interested in what's trendy or popular, they are simply interested in getting into the highest possible social circle. On top of this, the children were raised well, they’re polite and have the innate confidence that comes from a lifetime of being so well...
provided for, at the best schools, with the best stuff, that they already walk the walk without being stuck-up airheads. At least this is how I see it. Sorry to ramble but its a difficult topic to sum up in a few hundred characters. Also, please do the Middletons post, they're obviously fascinating.

Thank you so much! I’m going to think about it some more.

Pippa Wedding
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-4491522/Pippa-Middleton-s-father-Michael-helps-wedding-plans.html
seating arrangements
The entrepreneur was seen carrying what appeared to be a seating plan for the church, which will have screens installed so guests seated in the vestry can watch the service
Pippa and James’ set up is more complicated than most as they’ve invited so many people to the church that more than 30 guests are now going to be seated in the vestry.
A sound system and screen is going to be set up for them to see the happy couple exchange vows.
Will Meg be in the vestry with security watching her
I actually feel sorry for Pip
I do too

William's red polo sweater and green jacket wasn't kate's idea or the kids chopping up his blue sweaters.... it was James and Micheal, the true fashion icons of the Middleton family. #harmlessconspiracy
We have rival theories. Honestly there’s definitely a James vibe. He’s very stylish

Kate Middleton's 'disgusting' shopping habit slammed by politician
yahoo
The royal family is masterful when it comes to publicity, from managing images of Kate Middleton’s enviable style to news of her third pregnancy and of Prince Harry’s Hollywood romance with Meghan Markle. But their roles as diplomats are being questioned by a member of Parliament, who calls family members “ridiculous” and once compared the Middletons to the Kardashians.
During Monday’s labor conference, according to Sky News, Emma Dent Coad, a member of Parliament for Kensington, said of Middleton and Prince William, “Their MP thinks the system is ridiculous. We should not be funding them.”

She added that Middleton’s reported purchase of $200 dresses was “disgusting,” noting, “That’s a food bill for a family of four,” and “That’s absolutely outrageous.
Sky News also reported that Dent Coad slammed the BBC’s coverage of the family, calling out what she said was “sickeningly gratuitous coverage of anything royal” and noting that the station was “very heavily directed by right-wing politics and the monarchy.”
“It is a piece of the whole propaganda machine,” she said.

It’s not the first time Dent Coad has railed against the royals. In July, she compared Kate’s family — siblings Pippa and James Middleton and parents Carole and Michael — to the Kardashian family for their combined 17 appearances at Wimbleton, the style details of which were breathlessly reported.
“I say the Middletons are like the Kardashians now, because they are such film stars,” Dent Coad remarked to an anti-monarch campaign group, according to the Daily Mail. “It just shows how much it has all changed.”
And after Queen Elizabeth and Prince William visited survivors of Grenfell Tower, a building in West London that caught fire and killed 30 people in June, Dent Coad said it would not be a privilege to meet the queen and that she had once turned down the opportunity.
So how did the royal family evolve from an actual governing power to bona fide celebrities who sell stuffed corgis in the royal gift shop? Blame three significant 17th-century events, according to a detailed account published in the Atlantic: British Parliament began rising to power, kings transitioned from warriors to diplomats, and a class system was established, along with the practice of wealthy families — including the monarchy — hosting social events.

Fast-forward to the 1980s, when Diana, Princess of Wales, fondly known as the “People’s Princess,” revamped the role by focusing her charity work on unique issues such as HIV/AIDS and homelessness. And Middleton, a commoner before marrying Prince William in 2011, is carrying the torch with her down-to-earth charm (she poses for selfies with fans), affinity for budget brands Gap and Zara, and photogenic hair.
But the popularity of the royals tends to fluctuate. In May 2016, according to global marketing firm Ipsos Mori, public approval for Prince William declined by 11 percent from 2012, possibly due to Will’s so-called lax work ethic (he then worked 20 hours a week as an air ambulance pilot). However, one year later, a survey conducted by the Sun U.K. found that more than half of British citizens wanted William to take the throne above his father Prince Charles.
Middleton’s likableness has also been debated. In 2011, one percent of people said they would trade places with her and less than one-third said they would want to be her friend, per a Newsweek/YouGov poll. However, the public remains obsessed, dubbing her “best celebrity body” and “most influential style icon.”
The royal family generates its income — $386 million per year, according to the Telegraph — with private and public funding, such as the Sovereign Grant (paid for by the government), which covers travel and palace bills, and the Privy Purse, money from royal properties, such as Balmoral and Sandringham Estates, where Will and Kate spend much of their time.
Per the royal family’s official website, the role of the monarchy is to carry out more than 2,000 official engagements, including attending state banquets and garden parties, strengthen economic and diplomatic relations with other countries, and serve as patrons at various charities.
So who, if not the royal family, is best to fulfill these obligations? “I would say if we are going to have princes and princesses then I would rather it was the Beckhams,” Dent Coad said in July, “because they have earned their own money.”
