Jamie would 100% make Roy a dating app profile sometime after the Keeley rejecting both of them thing to try to help him move on and meet people when clearly he’s refusing to get back out there organically and he’d think he’s being so helpful and generous and the best wingman ever. He’d handpick what he considers the sexiest pictures he can find and put a bunch of shit Roy would never say thinking he’s being accurate and helpful and not even taking the clear opportunity to make a joke account to embarrass him or anything when he easily could have just made fun of him and chosen the worst pictures possible instead

And then he would be SO offended when it doesn’t go well when Roy finds out about it and is not properly appreciative at all

Roy thinks it’s Jamie’s account when he starts showing Roy girls like what do you think of her and asking him way too many questions when Roy has no interest in participating and has no idea why the fuck Jamie seems incapable of swiping without trying to get Roy’s opinions first. Meanwhile, Roy’s giving one word answers at first and then increasingly trying to brush him off when he doesn’t stop and then he’s just flat out like “Choose your own dates and leave me the fuck out of it” and Jamie’s like “Nah, this is your account. You should have a say” and instead of being grateful and appreciative and thanking Jamie for being oh so generous with his time and energy, Roy just scowls at him and growls out “You did not make a fucking Tinder profile for me” and Jamie just smirks and decides now is not the right moment yet to mention that he actually made him accounts on like three different apps because he wasn’t sure which Roy would like best

Roy barks at him to delete it and Jamie’s all whiny like “Come on, I spent a lot of time on these and you haven’t even considered it. Plus, even if you’re not ready to date someone yet, you’d still be less miserable to be around if you at least found someone to shag in the meantime”

And Roy’s like “Delete it. I don’t want a fucking Tinder profile.” And Jamie looks at him confused for a moment and then seems to have an epiphany as he goes “Oh, do you want a Grindr one instead? Hold on a second” and he flips to a different app and Roy’s too busy being baffled by the fact that Grindr is already on Jamie’s phone and that he’s having to sign out of his own account to try to make one for Roy to even stop him before he’s already trying to sign up for a new account and Roy goes “That’s not what I meant. I don’t want any dating app”

And Jamie pauses his typing and turns and looks at him so skeptically and so judgily and suddenly somehow Roy is trying to fight for his life trying to defend why he’s not looking for some random stranger to date or fuck around with

𝑨emon was the third born child of King Jaehaerys I Targaryen and Queen Alysanne Targaryen. The first who would grow into adulthood.

The prince was born on Dragonstone, and given his own dragon egg while in the cradle by his parents. This tradition was started by Princess Rhaena who put a dragon egg in Jaehaerys and Alysanne's own cradles.

From the moment of his birth, King Jaehaerys I openly called Aemon his heir. Alysanne, on the other hand, would reply that Princess Daenerys was older than Aemon, and should therefore be queen, to which Jaehaerys would respond that, once Aemon and Daenerys married, they would rule together as king and queen. The answer never entirely pleased Queen Alysanne.

The smallfolk of King's Landing lined the streets outside the Red Keep when Jaehaerys and Alysanne returned to the city a month after Aemon's birth, hoping to catch a glimpse of the baby. Jaehaerys eventually climbed the ramparts of the main gates of the castle, raising Aemon over his head so all could see him.

Aemon was Jaehaerys' pride and joy, the child who would continue his legacy. He put a lot of faith in Aemon, a lot of money too - to train him into the best swordsman, leader and scholar he could be.

When Aemon's brother Prince Baelon was born in 57 AC. The two children became as close as could be. As soon as Baelon could walk, he began to follow Aemon around everywhere he went. Brothers? More like twins, they were each other's best friend.

In 62 AC, King Jaehaerys formally gave seven year old Aemon the title of Prince of Dragonstone and heir to the throne. At the feast, Queen Alysanne sat Aemon beside Lady Jocelyn Baratheon.

The two spent the entire evening talking and laughing together. (King Jaehaerys had originally wished for Aemon to marry his older sister, Daenerys.)

However, after the death of Daenerys's in 60 AC, Jaehaerys came to consider his second daughter, Alyssa, but that idea had been discouraged by Queen Alysanne, who had noted Alyssa's interest in Baelon.

As such, in 68 AC, Aemon's betrothal to Lady Jocelyn was announced. They were married two years later, in a ceremony as grand as the Golden Wedding.

In 74 AC, Aemon became a father when Jocelyn gave birth to their daughter, Princess Rhaenys, on the seventh day of the seventh month of the year. Seven years later, upon reaching his twenty-sixth nameday, Aemon was appointed to the office of lord justiciar and master of laws.

In 83 AC Aemon, along with his brother Baelon and their father Jaehaerys, ended the attempted invasion of the stormlands by Prince Morion Martell of Dorne.

Mounted atop their dragons, they destroyed the Dornish fleet before it could even make landfall. The war was fought and won in a day, and upon their return to King's Landing, Aemon, Jaehaerys, and Baelon received a riotous welcome, as they had won a war without losing a single man, something not even Aegon the Conqueror had been able to achieve.

In 92 AC, Aemon led the assault on the Myrish pirates who had conquered the eastern half of Tarth during the struggle known as the Myrish Bloodbath.

Aemon left for Tarth. shortly after learning that his daughter Rhaenys was pregnant with her first child. Aemon arrived before the fleet of his son-by-marriage, Lord Corlys Velaryon.

On Tarth, Aemon met with Lord Cameron Tarth in the mountains located at the center of the island, where the Lord of Tarth had made camp. A pair of Myrish scouts eventually discovered the camp, and recognized Lord Cameron. One of them took a shot at Lord Cameron with his crossbow.

Although he missed Lord Tarth, Aemon, who had been standing by Lord Cameron's side, was struck in his throat, and drowned in his own blood.

Aemon's death caused an issue with the succession, as Aemon's only child was a daughter, Rhaenys.

King Jaehaerys chose Aemon's younger brother, Prince Baelon, as his new heir, passing over Rhaenys, and, "as she was pregnant, her unborn child."

contracts, clauses, and causes for action

It seems to me that the ball is entirely in the gods court. Like the only way for Ludinus to become compelling is if the gods leapfrog over the divine gate, rendering their word null and void.

Then there's a cause for action because the mortals will realize "hey, we have no way of keeping you honest, there's no consequence that we can enact when you fail to fulfill your oath". Like a contract is only binding if there's way to enforce it - when you pinky promise to take your kid to disneyland, is that a valid contract or just performative? because if you break a pinky promise, the only consequence is your kid loses faith in you - is that penalty enough?

and the thing is: the divine gate is proof that yeah, the gods do believe that's penalty enough. the one thing that downfall managed to reinforce (which granted we already knew but deeper context only further supports) is that the gods are capable of acknowledging their harm (however unintentional) done to mortals. And not only are they able to acknowledge it, they are able to correct themselves.

and so far, thats holding true. they are demonstrating their discipline and willingness to follow through even if the mortals remain powerless and hold no leverage against them, they can keep themselves beholden to their word because they are in fact Good.

so literally, the only way Ludinus can be proven somewhat compelling is if the gods decide to hop the divine gate. then we'll have some proof that their word is not that ironclad but even then its not to the level of "all gods must die". Thats more on the level of "all gods need to come to the table and renegotiate this contract so theres clauses to allow you exceptions". because absolute contracts tend to force people's hands anyways.

and the only implication that a god hopping the divine gate gives is to reintroduce the idea that the gods are not beholden to mortals in any way and there is no way to keep a god honest - that mortals will have to rely on a god's inherent Goodness to keep themselves honest. but again - what the fuck have the Prime Deities done in this world that has ever pointed in that direction truly? (and no, dont attest the workings of their mortal followers when the gods have banned themselves from interference).

the gods would have to break the contract twice - once to stop predathos, and a second time for less dire purposes - in order to really showcase that they arent trustworthy. thats a Fucking Lot to mess up. and again they dont seem willing to even break the divine gate for Ludinus so what is even the problem here?

the problem, narratively speaking, is that the current world is built by fairly Good gods who really havent done anything of significance to showcase tyranny. none of them is on the level of Marika, from Elden Ring, whose personal history has led to death and discrimination of innocent children - which she actively campaigned for and did to her own children. (No slander on Marika btw)

Matt has not made any of the Prime Deities bad and sure, the Betrayers are bad and sure, maybe the mortals would prefer to have them entirely eliminated. but like mortals live under so many threats with less protections against than they currently do against the Betrayers. That deprioritizes them from the level of "eliminate at all costs". There's nothing dire or urgent that hasnt been manufactured by the Big Bad himself.

the gods are traumatized yes. theyre stuck in a toxic family situation yes. but none of that toxicity has affected their desire to protect mortals. and the only time a mortal became worthy of destruction by divine hand was when those mortals nearly unleashed oblivion? like come on man.

the gods are in their lane and the mortals are thriving and ludinus needs fucking therapy plus a better hobby.
