previous statement retracted from me, i think this may actually be correct. 1) his caps this week vs. rest of the year. even when the sticker has changed, the cap hasn't. it's much easier to change a sticker than it is stitching on a hat.

2) his linked in slogan has changed (new vs. old)

and most weirdly, 3) this video linked here, does seem like a goodbye from optus to both daniel and to ash barty. good that it's them both and suggests that maybe money is tight for optus and they're just changing their sponsor approach moving forward. (also red bull are sponsored by at&t which......you put the dots together on that one)

will be intriguing to see where this falls at monza and if the yes stickers are back. but i do think the optus sponsorship is over.

i dont think this is indicative of anything bad for daniel, especially again considering the contract with ash barty may also be over as well. just intriguing considering how strong the partnership between daniel and optus has been over the past few years

Interesting to see the 'Yes' optus logo on Daniel's helmet has been covered over for this race. I know certain countries have strict advertising laws (although not usually on telecommunications companies 🤷🏻‍♀️) and sometimes sponsors have specific circuits where they are featured or more heavily featured, but I'm wondering if maybe Daniel and optus have parted ways. I looked back and it was on his helmets at both Belgium and Hungary, and is still listed as a partner on his website so who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️

You’ve worn the crown for a long time now and have led the way and given opportunity to so many of us, and we know it ain’t been easy. Looking back through my camera roll with a smile almost as big as yours. From life changing weeks in Vegas, to riding bikes in Amsterdam then you predicting to me in the lobby of your hotel that you were going to win Monza, then doing it! It’s been a freakin ride man. Thank you. Thank you for being you, for giving so much, for being so resilient under pressure and facing challenges with such Grace (and Joe ;-)), for all the last second paddock passes, for being a great sport in all the weird scenarios we’ve asked you to do over the years, entertaining all my positivity bullshit after tough races and most of all for making the whole damned world drink from their shoes and smile more. We all need to take a page out of the DR book. Congratulations on a phenomenal F1 career, and now an ENTIRE UNIVERSE of possibility. You now literally get to do ANYTHING in the world you want, including go back racing should you so desire 😀. You sure you don’t want to do some endurance racing?? lol
